The wooden body is nicely finished and detailed with grooves and tasteful decals for brand name, logo, and car model. Overall, the fit and finish is very nice. I like that you can interchange parts if you own more than one Automoblox cars. This particular car (should say !C!9-r Red/Black Sports COUPE not !S!9-R Red/Black Sports SEDAN in the title. S9-R Sports Sedan is Blue/Black.) is a more aggressively styled version of Automoblox C9 sports coupe. It has slightly larger wheels and plastic spoilers. I prefer these toys to the usual plastic toy cars, although I consider Automoblox to be a bit pricey. This is a very well made&durable toy and quite educational too. My son takes it apart&loves putting it back together. Just what every young boy needs in his toy collection. Great product! This is a wonderful toy, a real keeper -- educational in that it gets pieced together by the child, but is well made and is the sort of thing I will save so that my son can pass it down to his kids someday..... And my husband, who is normally after our kids to put their toys away, said he doesn't even mind having this one sit out on display on the coffee table, it's so nice. WIll definitely buy more of them for my 7-year old son. We have just about all of the full size automoblox vehicles. My son started playing with them a little before his first birthday. This mostly meant taking the people out, taking the wheels off and banging the bodies. Now at 2 and a half he can literally spend hours taking the cars apart and putting them together in different ways. Then it's time to actually drive them. He can make up stories and take trips for another hour... plus they are almost as much fun for me. The closest thing I have to a criticism is this... my son loves them so much he plays with them a ton. As durable as they are I don't know that they will quite live up to their claim of being heirloom quality, although they certainly take a better beating than anything plastic or the larger metal cars. The designs are great, the wheels in particular move beautifully and are a model of brilliant simple design. If you don't own any yet I would recommend buying at least three to make the interchangeability as much fun as possible. My son likes the pickup truck and off x9x the best. I bought this car for a 3 yr old's birthday present and it was his favorite toy. The car is so solid and sleek looking that you can't help but pick it up. The interchangable parts were fun for the adults as well as the kids. A nice change from bright colors and plastic cars with decals. I will definitely be buying my son these cars once he turns 3! This guy has a minor role in the Thomas series, but boy, is he a favorite in our house! He's different - his face looks laid back and he has a smirk on his face as well. He's a bit snooty since his job is to take the Duke and Duchess of Boxford around but since he is the fastest engine, well, he has a right to be snooty! He's on the video "New Friends for Thomas" and instantly became a favorite! Sure am glad he's available and am wondering when Max is coming out! Highly recommend this one - he's really different and a great addition to our set. Highly Recommend! Spencer is a silver British mallard (the fastest steam engine of its time), with a coal tender in the back, and a laid-back face. If your child enjoys acting out the stories from the Thomas video series, Spencer was brought to the island as the private engine of the visiting Duke and Duchess of Boxford, so his personality is a bit snooty. As you can see, Spencer has a very minor role in the Thomas&Friends TV show, but this train is a must have! He has a unique look. I have enjoyed Spencer as well, and bought some express coaches for him. Spenser, one of the newer friends of Thomas, is a great addition to the Thomas line. As with all of the wooden trains, these hold up really well. I'm noticing the paint on the top chipping off, but I suppose this is to be expected with trains that are tossed into a huge backpack and jostled around. My son plays a lot with these trains, and gets much enjoyment from them! This Spencer is handmade from durable New England Hard Maple. This product was perfect for my 2 year old son. He loves using the remote control and seeing the effects of pushing the buttons. It is very durable and not too loud for indoor use. A definite must have as a first remote controlled vehicle. We love this product. My three year old loves it. It's been put through the ringer already and it's still going strong. He plays with this at least once a week even after having this a year. The wagon is great and the blocks are perfect size for toddler hands. He got this for his first birthday and still loved it. The wagon is the perfect size for him. He loves dumping the blocks and then putting them back when he is done. He loves these blocks so much that we bought an additional bag of blocks. I chose this toy because it felt like a twofer: wagon and construction. I was not disappointed. This wagon may as well have been surgically attached to our daughter from 9-11 months. She used it as a push toy as she was working up the courage to let go and walk on her own. Now that she is 1, she uses it much more for building. Mega Bloks are much easier to build with than Legos (even Quattros) because they fit together more loosely. The handle has pegs to you can begin building on top of it -- she loves that feature. Note that the wagon is the pefect size for a tot to climb in it -- not the safest thing but they will learn the consequences on their own. I was surprised at how big the truck is. It is a very sturdy toy, well made, very colorful and my twin grandson's will have many years of fun with it. I purchased this for their first birthday along with the Playskool Busy Ball. I ordered this wagon for my grandson because the picture looked like the one I have at my home. He really enjoyed mine when he came to visit. The wagon he received was not like the one I have and was not like the one in the picture. It does not have the blue sides where he can build up the sides of the wagon. The plastic feels cheap and is bendable, not good for a wagon. The wagon I have is sturdy enough that he can sit in it. (He is 18 months old.) I would not let him sit in the new one. The biggest disappointment is that I searched the web for a wagon that looked like mine and was quite happy when I found it. That doubled my disappointment when my daughter called to say that the wagon was not like mine. I was very pleased with this product and the speed in which I received it. (Yo Ho Ho and a Bucket of Prawns...) (Salty the seaside diesel) (We Love Salty!!!) (I love this engine) Great add in toy for Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway. My son was 1 when we started his collection and they have been a favorite ever since. When they like the trains it cuts down on a lot of other bulky toys so the clutter is minimal. This piece named Salty is fun plus we like to do the voice! He has a cute cheeky grin on his face. The paint is durable and the plastic pieces are minimal and will be great addition to your Thomas collocation. Here's a TIP for saving money on Thomas and Friends - If you have a Michaels Craft Store close by and get the Sunday circular they usually run a 40 percent off coupon in the paper. I am told they do not do this in all markets but here they do. We take ours into the store and receive 40 percent off of the trains which in some cases on some trains it is a considerable savings. You may want to try it. My son and I LOVE to sing the Yo Ho Ho song! Salty is my son's newest acquisition in the Thomas line. He had Salty in the small diecast metal form, but wanted the wooden version so it can chug on the wooden railways. Salty is an older diesel who loves to tell tales of the sea. He will occasionally work in the quarry and other areas on the Island of Sodor, but is happiest down by the docks. Salty has two adorable bottom teeth, and is very good natured. My son created water on paper to pretend that he's down by the docks, and includes Cranky and the Aquarium Cars for pretend play. Very nice--and affordable!--addition to the Thomas series. If your child likes playing with Thomas&Friends trains, Salty is a red diesel engine, and like Mavis, he has black and yellow stripes around his face. Salty was brought to the Island to help Mavis, Bill, and Ben shape up the troublesome trucks in the quarry. He did such a good job of doing it, no other engine could do it. Salty will ocassionally work in the quarry and other places on the island, but since he has the personality of a sea captain, he likes to work at the Brendam Docks. In fact, Sir Topham Hatt thought that Salty did such a good job, he gave him a new job at Brendam Docks. Salty now works with Cranky the crane, loading and unloading various cargo. If you need an engine to help you with heavy-duty jobs, I recommend adding Salty to your collection. What can you say. Some of the Engines just sit there, but Salty has all this personality! He is a hard working diesel (who doesn't have some of the personality problems of the other diesels :-) and he loves the sea. He also loves to talk about all the places he has been. "Have you ever worked Marsaille?" Beyond that, Salty is a ruggedly built little train that small kid's adore. Certainly he is a favorite with my 3 year-old son.
