He is good because he likes to work. I like to play with him. My sister likes to play with him but I hope she doesn't hurt her foot when she plays with him. I love him so much I let my mom share him. -Eamon (5) Edward is an older engine who is extremely kind to everyone. He is even kind to the small engines when they get into difficulties, as well as the big engines even when they are rude or impatient. Although Edward is the same blue color as Thomas (#1) and Gordon (#4), #2 Edward is a staple on the Island of Sodor--making it into almost every episode and Thomas the Tank Engine book. Edward comes in two parts, held together by a strong magnet, and is very sturdy. My son has had his for years, and it still looks good as new! (Despite HOURS of playing). Although he isn't colorful, he's a reliable fixture on the Island of Sodor. My son absolutely adores all his Thomas the Tank Engine stuff. What can I say? Edward the Blue Engine is a fine addition to any child's collection. I know Edward is old and my train sure is but he can still pull trains likje the big engines. His magnet is in perfect working order and he can pull a couple coaches without trouble at all. A cool thing about Edward and all the other tender engines is that little kids love to take the tender on and off. I thinks it's so funny when they do that. Edward really works well and he's capable of hours of enjoyment at a time. This is a great toy that all the kids I know just love to play with! It's always enjoyable to play with trains, especially ones with familiar faces. Also, this toy is very durable. WOOD Edward is a cheerful blue worker train. Hauling coal, helping the big guys, hanging out in the train yard--this friendly fellow's goal in life is to be a really useful engine. (Great beginner set for your Hot Wheels) My son loves the Hot Wheels tracks and this was no exception. Arrived on time in good condition. I purchased this set for my son for Christmas and we had an awesome time putting it together and playing with the one car that it came with. But when we went to purchase other cars for it, we couldn't find a single car (we purchased 20!) that would make it around the track. We can't find any of the recommended cars either. Called the customer service number for Mattel with no luck either. I really don't know what to do now - We have more than 20 cars for a set where only one will work so my son doesn't really play with the tracks anymore... gee, I wonder why? Unless you have a whole bunch of Hot Wheels cars in your possession, this track set is not worth it. We got this when it was on super sale for our 4 year old god-son, and he went ga-ga for it!! He opened it right away, and made his dad go get batteries. We had a great time putting the cars on the motorized track and watching them whiz around. My 2 year old thought it was magic and really got a kick out of it. Super fun! This toy was dirt cheap (less than 10$) during xmas 2007. My 3yr old boy loves it. The car whizzes by around the tracks like a bobsled. It only comes with 1 car and you need 2 D batteries. I wish they made it 4 AA instead so I can you my rechargeables. I dont know how long my non-rechargeable D batteries will last. Overall, its a great toy. I bought this for my 5 year old son who has plenty of cars but nothing to use the cars with. He absolutley loves it and plays with it quite a bit. We went through all his cars to see which cars made the jump and which ones didn't work, or didn't complete the loop. (Harvey Rocks) (Harvey is Great!) (Great item, highly recommended.) (Harvey the crane engine) I thought for sure that some movable part on this engine would break, or that the engine would be perpetually tipping over. Neither has happened in the year+ we've owned Harvey. The magnet is strong enough to pick up another engine, or paper clips, coins, etc. The more moving parts, the more interesting the engine, and Harvey's got the goods! I bought this for my Grand Son as he loves Thomas and Friends and he was excited to get it. We find nothing bad to say about these products except once you buy them for a young one you will be buying more. Harvey has found a home. Harvey is a great addition to our collection and is very sturdy. My son loves pushing the crane part around and around making that annoying clicking noise. He loves it so its worth that! I bought my Harvey toy a while ago, and I was quite pleased. It's actually very durable, like everyone else has said. The crane doesn't break off, no matter how often you play with it or how hard you may accidentaly step on it. I think the only way to break it off is via steam roller. Anyway, highly recommended for any Thomas collector. If your child likes playing with Thomas&Friends trains, Harvey was brought to the Island of Sodor because accidents happen. At first, the big engines teased Harvey because of his unique look, but Harvey soon showed his stuff by clearing the tracks when Percy's freight cars derailed in the way of Bertie's path. After that day, nobody ever teased him again. I recommend Harvey a little bit more than Butch, another character with a tow arm, because Harvey is for the rails and his crane arm is more flexible and durable. I recommend Harvey if you want to have a ready-for-anything crane engine added to your collection. These cars are quality made, like when I was a kid. The likeness to the film cars is excellent. I just received these today - a Christmas gift for my 3 year old. I guess I didn't read the description well enough. I though these were a little bigger. They do have excellent detail and I'm sure my son will love them. I just expected a slightly larger, sturdier toy. He hasn't opened them yet, of course, but I can see where small parts could break off as they are so small.
