This is a great way to get into RC flying without the costly mistakes of crashing. It really simulate the physics of flying quite realistically. You do need a more powerful computer and an upgraded graphics card to get the most out of this product. I got a Dell 530 with Quad processors, 4G of ram and an after market graphics card. The helicopters are very hard to fly but that's the challenge. Not cheap but you get what you pay.
I could have walked to the shipping warehouse and back to Houston for the the time it took for this product to be shipped to be.
They did say it would take 3 weeks. I ordered it:
10/27/08 received it 01/21/09.
The product is what they say, a good realistic RC radio flying trainer.
It's better to crash on the comptuer than in real life.

I don't know why the delay in shipping? Maybe they had to go shopping for it themselves, who knows.

I have it now and enjoy flying and trying to keep from crashing.

Good Product...

I am very interested in model helicoptors and purchased this training program to help me save my model by getting experience before attempting to fly the real thing. It is a very realistic and sensitive program that certainly is extreemely realistic. However it is not 3 dimentional and the training craft is very difficult to follow, and judge its proximimity to obsticals or the ground. I would only recommend this program to practice close manuvering and hovering.
I just upgraded to this 4.5 version (for free actually) from version 4.0.
This is the best simulator available for learning how to fly radio controlled airplanes and helicopters. The flight characteristics of each available aircraft is very similar to the actual models in real life including crashes and wind speed/direction. You can also modify each model to simulate different engines and other characteristics.
There are also different airfields that can modified to more accurately portray your actual area.
The exhaustive manual included on the disk describes all the different ways the program can be used and modified to suit your preferences.
Overall this is an impressive simulator that can actually save beginners considerable money by helping prevent real life crashes and damage.

My 4 year old Grandson just loves Geo Trax, so many configurations and options to choose from. Geo Trax will keep him busy for hours.
Nice set to have. Definitely worth the price.
Only issue I have is that I have several sets of original GeoTrax, yet it seems not all sets match perfectly with each other - again all (supposedly) original sets and parts.

Good product, but seem to have problems with connecting turn track to regular track. For some reason, it doesn't fit perfectly flush and the train sometimes derails. With a little adjusting, it seems to work OK. Otherwise, it's a great addition to the GeoTrax system!

Culdee is not the only engine with two faces. He works on the Culdee fell railway on Sodor. He appeared in the Railway Series book, "Mountain Engines" written by the Rev. W Awdry. The book is available in "Thomas the Tank Engine: The complete collection". The book contains all 27 Raiway Series books written by Wilbert Awdry, the real creator of Thomas and Friends. Warning: The book is NOT the complete collection, it doesn't include the Railway Series books 27-40 written by Christopher Awdry, the son of Rev. Awdry. Those books are no longer in print. If you are going to buy Culdee with the apple orchard cars, I suggest you buy the complete collection book, you can learn about Culdee with son/daughter, and also learn about how Thomas and his friends came to being.
When I saw Culdee and the apple picking cars, I thought they would make a great addition to my trainset. The problem is... IT'S HARD TO FIND A STORE THAT HAD HIM! If he's available here, snap him up!

If you're not familiar with Culdee, I'm not surprised. He has not been in a video yet. Anyway, Culdee is a purple mountain engine. He is the only engine with 2 faces- one in front and one in back. He pulls a flatbed that carries a forklift with real lifting action. The apple cart smells like real apples. A perfect addition to any Thomas rail and road set... IF YOU CAN FIND IT!

My son was very happy to find him on his Thomas birthday cake after a year long wait. He washed nicely from the frosting. We haven't had him long now, but the caterpillars have only slipped off once, which from other reviews I know was a problem with older versions, but they easily slipped back on. So far so good.
My son loves all the Thomas toys, but I have to agree with other reviewers that this one was a bit of a letdown. The rubber treads make it almost impossible to play with, so we cut them off almost immediately. Now my son can enjoy it, but having to remove the treads kind of defeats the purpose of buying a tractor.
This item looks ok, but the website was COMPLETELY misleading in saying that it ships within 24 hours. I ordered this on Nov. 27th and did not receive it til Dec. 8th. That's nearly 2 weeks. It may not be worth ordering online even with the free shipping, better to fight the crowds at the stores.
We got this last night and like everyone else has said, the treads come off almost instantly. I was excited that a previous review said these items have a lifetime guarantee and that if you called Learning Curve's 800 number they would replace it. So, I called them up and the girl who answered was very rude and told me that they couldn't do anything unless it's a manufacturing defect. She said I should take it back to the store I bought it from and get a new one. I told her I bought it from Costco and that they would only have the same kind (the previous reviewer had said they came out with a newer version of Terrence that solved the tread problem). I told her about the newer version and she said in her abrubt and rude manner that as a one time courtesy they could replace it. I looked on their web site and they say they only have a 90 day warranty for manufacturing defects (not normal use etc). Maybe they changed their policy, but I would think twice before purchasing this particular train.
Terence is my two year old son's favorite train from the the Thomas books. We bought him the wooden Terence from a local toy store, only to discover that his treads came off about thirty seconds after he came out of the box. This was a real pain - I put the treads away and let my son use Terence like a regular train, which he didn't mind too much but it was a bit upsetting to pay ten dollars for a toy and then have it be poor in quality.
A few days later, we were at a different toy store and saw that Terence had been redesigned! Unfortunately, the store we had bought him from doesn't do refunds, only exchanges. I went home and called Learning Curve's 800 number, and a very nice customer service lady gave me an address and told me that they would replace my son's Terence with the new one.
I mailed him back, got the new one in a few weeks, and he's GREAT. The treads don't come off, he rolls on plain table, track, and even the carpet wonderfully. My son was very happy as he had wondered what happened to his old Terence.
Learning Curve has a lifetime garuntee on all their products so if you have the old Terence I reccommend giving them a call and they will let you exchange it for a new one (even if you bought it three years ago!).
His crawling tracks make Terrence the subject of endless teasing from younger engines. Terrence rides off-track, as he is a tractor.

Lady was a gift for my grandchildren to go with their Thomas&Friends Wooden Railway set. They spend hours playing with the trains and enjoy them immensely. They especially like the battery powdered engines. They have most of them.
This battery powered Lady engine does not run well on generic wooden tracks; e.g. non-branded wooden tracks such as those sold by Ikea. The Thomas engine with three pairs of wheels however runs well on generic wooden tracks. If this is going to be your first purchase, buy the battery powered Thomas engine first, if you do not plan to invest in the Thomas railroad thematic sets. The Thomas and friends engines will give your kid hours of fun constructing railroads, little towns, etc.
If you don't have a battery operated train yet, then don't make Lady or Piercy your first purchase. You will be disappointed. THe 6 wheeled trains (James and Thomas) handle just about any track with no problems, while Lady derails probably 5 times as often. She particularly has trouble with tight corners (3" radius curves).

Make battery powered James or Thomas your first purchase, then buy Lady or Piercy after that.
We have had bad luck with this lovely toy. I think it is poorly manufactured because it broke, we got a new one and it broke right away. Our battery powered thomas runs fine. Skip this lady.
This metal battery operated Lady engine and her metal battery operated companions (Thomas, Percy, etc.) are for use with the wooden track. There are larger plastic battery operated engines that fit both the wooden track and the blue plastic track by Tomy.

This is a great product. Very well-constructed. Very durable. It can be switched on, go forward or backward, and it can be pushed manually--another reviewer complained that it could not be pushed, but it can be pushed.

Purchasing recommendation:
* Wait until appropriate age: Our son started with Thomas when he was 18 months old, but we did not buy any battery engines until he was 3. We wanted for him to use his imagination in pushing and pulling for a while. Now he sometimes sits back and just watches the battery engines, while at other times he pushes them.

* The metal engines are more durable: The metal engines cost more than the larger plastic battery-operated engines, but they are far more durable. They feel solid in the hand. They go both forward and backwards, while the plastic engines only go forward. They pull the wooden cars that your child may already have. They're just a better fit!
This Lady engine features with a special magnet helps keep rolling stock on the track. Thomas Wooden Railway vehicles, track and destinations are not compatible with Take Along Thomas items.

After reading some reviews of people complaining about this toy, I must make a point that this toy is designed for pre-schoolers to play with, and is appropriate for its targeted age range. Even though the toy maker did not depict the flyboat to the exact flyboat seen on TV, my 2 year old did not have a problem recognizeing that it is "the flyboat". She was absolutely thrilled to play with this toy. No small parts since it's designed for toddlers, and total of 5 pieces in the play sets including the characters (which I am thankful for...not many pieces to get lost). The base that attached the characters to the boat could have been designed a bit better like bigger holes for easier attachment for little hands. It's worth if you pay $25 or less for the product. Overall I give it an A. A cute Wonder Pets toy!
This is probably my daughter's favorite toy, but I kind of hate it-- it's so poorly made! The first 24 hours with it (after Xmas) nearly drove us insane. As others have mentioned, the pets are supposed to be held onto the flat-topped boat (which lacks sides) with tiny pegs wildly inadequate for the figures' sizes; the idea works well with many action figures, but the proportions here are all wrong. Some kids may not mind the figures falling off, but mine most definitely does!

After a zillion temper tantrums and repositionings with tape the first day, I bought the thinnest, strongest velcro I could find and made new attachment points for the pets. They still fall off occasionally, but it's a LOT better.

We haven't had problems with the mast or sail falling off, and my daughter enjoys "building" the boat. I like the fact that the sound effects can be turned off, and my daughter generally prefers it that way. Unfortunately a lot of the paint is chipping off the pets themselves (after 4 months of gentle but almost daily play). My daughter adores the figures and doesn't seem to mind the wear, but I wish this toy was better made. With the exception of the 3-packs of figures, the other toys in this line look even worse (based on inspection in the store, at least). Why such poor execution?

Small fans of the Wonder Pets will love this toy, so I can't exactly recommend you avoid it. Unfortunately, many parents will hate it; consider yourself warned, and get some velcro ahead of time.
Obviously this toy was designed by someone who never watched the show. The Flyboat in the show is made from the ordinary items found in the classroom. A big part of the show is the time when Wonder Pets work together to build the boat - 'Team Work'. The first thing my 3-yr-old son tried to do with the toy is to take it apart and build it back like in the show. The toy is a plasticized, dumbed-down, cheaped-out version of the Flyaboat. The Flyboat in the show is made of a frizbee, erector set sticks, marble, paper, and maker caps. I cannot understand why they could not make the toy to resemble the construction in the show. Obviously the focus went into making it sing. Whoever designed this toy does not udnerstand pre-schoolers who are the taget maket group for this toy. They can sing themselves. They can sing the whole show if you ask them. What they need is to pretend to be Wonder Pets. The toy misses the whole point. It is so overpriced for what it is - it has no educational values and constructed very cheaply. It is very disppointing that Fisher Price will put their name on this toy.
[...] The picture is not accurate, the boat is flat and the characters do not stay on the boat. It's not well designed for toddlers and my 2 year old contantly wants me to put the characters back on, which then fall off within seconds. I'm considering putting this in the trash when she forgets about it.
As a mom of 3yr old "Special Needs" child, I love the Wonder Pets. It helps him to learn to sing. Wonderful theme song!

I purchased this for my grandson's 3rd birthday. He loves this crane. WELL worth the extra money spent. It's holding up through the rough play and dirt.
We purchased this toy after looking at some of the plastic models in the toystore. Our 7 year old grandson is tough on his toys, and we wanted this to last. He's played hard with it now for 2 months and it shows no signs of wear. It's been left outside, in the sand pile, and shows no signs of rust. We'd definitely recommend this to anyone who has a "hard-working" child.

Our son had to have it for his collection. He lines the cars up to watch the movie and lets everyone know when the feature on the car appears in the movie.
My son had to have this toy. We searched all over town to no avail and I finally broke down and paid a ridiculous price for it. Anyway, it's just a regular Lightening McQueen car with "bugs" stamped into the white of his teeth. (I could have done this with some small tools, black paint and a tiny paintbrush.) But my four-year-old is fascinated with this car so he gives it five stars -- it's definetely a favorite for kids.

Like many little boys, my grandson (4) is fascinated when the garbage truck comes by. He got this garbage truck for Christmas last year and it was well worth the price. He and his brother (7) have given this truck a lot of use and it has held up to all their play. And they love it. It looks like the real thing and has lots of working parts. They especially love putting small toys in the bin and dumping them into the truck. A great toy for boys and one that will last.
My son just received this garbage truck from his Grandpa today. I agree with some of the other reviews in that this truck may not hold up to rough play, but so far, so good! My 2 1/2 year old son played with it for 2 solid hours and would've played longer had it not been dinner time! My son had no problem figuring out how to attach the garbage cans to the back, and how to operate the various parts. The price is exorbitant, but it's a gift from Grandpa. Thanks to the other reviews, I know to supervise my son while he plays with this truck, and remind him that there are fragile parts, and that he needs to play gently with it. He's pretty good about things like that, so I anticipate this being a fun toy for a long time!

I bought this garbage truck for my 3 year old son. He was thrilled when he saw it and for the first time he played with a toy by himself for more than an hour! HOWEVER after an hour the back end was broken as well as the mirrors and he got very upset. This truck looks great, but it is not durable. If it was $10 that wouldn't be a problem but for $60 it should have lasted for more than an hour!
My son told me for two months that he wanted a "real" garbage truck for his birthday. I went online to Toysrus and was sent to Amazon.com. He was and still is thrilled with this toy. Fantastic job and it works like a "real" garbage truck.
