Por lo demas el modelo es muy muy bueno. Great collector's item. Although it contains certain plasitc parts that may break easily, it's diecast body provides a good solid feel. Makes for a great show piece behind a cover (not included, though it comes with a display stand/plate). This thing is just too small. It's only about 8.5 to 9 inches long. It looks puny. And a previous reviewer (D.Mayes) is right: the front wheels are too big, and the right front wheel doesn't spin well. Also, there's no plastic where the side windows should be; they're just left missing (just holes there) so they could run their tape through the vehicle for some reason--and it's not to keep the vehicle in place either. The entire vehicle is held to the ugly brown plastic display stand via four screws. And the packaging doesn't really show off the vehicle too well, so you have to take it out of its packaging to display it (unlike the 1989 batmobile from Hotwheels that came in a clear plastic cylinder--btw, that batmobile is actually bigger than this tumbler). And when you do take it out, the ugly brown display stand becomes visible. The canopy is supposed to be "retractable" but I couldn't get it open easily and didn't want to risk breaking it so I just left it alone. Overall, an okay model with some flaws. The biggest being: it just doesn't look beefy enough. If I had known how small thing is, I might have just bought one of the toy versions instead of this display version. The toy arrived fast and in perfect conditions. Excellent communication from seller all the time. Beautiful vehicle, with great level of details and finishing. (It's like I'm 8 yo again) (Just as much fun as when I was a kid!!!!!) The toy basically doesn't work very well at least how it's suppose to, and it's very loud. My 2 year old just plays with the bike, and right now it's one of his main toys. So to me the toy sucks, but my kid likes it...so?? I guess it's worth the purchase, but all the plastic pieces are not worth keeping. Just the bike, evil, and the wind up thing. I had these stunt cycles when I was growing up, and was very upset when I found my mother had thrown them away while I was at college. But this is appears to be even a better product then those. A little bit louder than I rememeber, but who knows; and who cares. I love it as much as the dog hates it. (Did not hold his attention much.) (Good overall but figures are tiny) The product arrived clean and in a timely manner. My son loves playing with this toy and all his other Geo Trax toys. We have had Geo Trax for over 3 years and LOVE it!! This set should be added to your existing train set, not just played with alone. We create towns and "destinations". We enjoy the people with the trains now as well. This is a great new addition to our set. A friend told me about the wonderful world of Geo trax, she used to run a daycare. Well I decided to try with this set first since it was cheaper, at first it looks like a very sturdy set. Unfortunately my boy is a very active boy so this set just does not hold his atention much, after I set it up, he played for about 15 minutes and then got bored, the fact that the track just goes on a circle is very boring for him, right now I have the set away in a box and he just wont even bring it out to play with it. His birthday is very soon so I purchased the grand station set, which is motorized, I hope this will be more entertaining for him. I'm not always one to follow the age recommendations exactly on toys, especially since my 18-month-old plays with most of his 3 1/2 year old sister's toys. We do try to make sure neither of them have toys with teeny tiny pieces and, if she gets something small that he'd be tempted to put in his mouth, it goes in her room where only she can play with it. That being said, I was attracted to these Geotrax toys because my son had already been given Thomas trains and tracks since birth and really enjoys them. I figured the Geotrax would be even better because the pieces were larger for little hands to manipulate and the tracks click together solidly, not "fit" together like the wooden railways. That's all true. The only downfall is the people figures that come with this set and another one we got are really small. They are proportional, I guess, to the rest of the set (buildings, trains, accessories, etc) but I was just surprised at how small they are. I guess I thought they'd be more Fisher Price Little People size. Anyway, we took the figures away from the set for now and have them put away for when he is older and he enjoys just playing with the trains. The sets are sturdy, colorful, interchangeable and fun. (great set great price) It's awesome once you buy the batteries... i had one of these when i was a kid... and it plugged into the wall... this one has a battery pack that takes 4 D batteries... Let me go back to 1980 and get them... come on... who has these lying around? But once you get the batteries... hours of mindless drunk racing fun! My slot car set was one of my favorite toys as a child, so I bought one for my nephew. I don't remember if mine was this flimsy. The track junctions are very sloppy, but the cars seem to go over well enough. We had to custom build the overpass supports as the included ones didn't keep the track level. You get what you pay for in this toy. For the entry level excitment of slot car racing for my five year old, this this toy did the job. Although the excitement was short-lived for this toy, I was glad I paid under 20bucks. The batteries that you need, which i wasn't aware of until x-mas eve, cost me 3/4's of the price of this toy. The quality is very cheap. I broke two pieces of the track putting it together the first time. But, for the price and the age of my child it was worth it. Bought this for my 5yo son as a "starter" slot car set intending to expand on it or upgrade it when he gets older. I remember playing with my old Tyco set for years and years and having fun modifying cars, making accessories, etc. This little set, though simple, will keep little guys enterained - especially the straight section of the track where the track swerves and the two cars can collide! The only con is that it runs on 4 "D" batteries and both cars share this power so they can deplete the batteries quickly. Fortunately, my experience in electronics allowed me to build a power supply to plug into the wall eliminating the need to buy costly alkaline batteries. Santa brought this for my 3 yr old son (and his 5yr old sister) My husband put it together in a few minutes and they were off to the races. It has been set up on the floor for a week now and they just go to it whenever they want to race. You do need to wipe the dust off, even a little bit will affect the cars , but a quick blow and wipe with a paper towel, no problem. I would definately recommend this toy, it is just right for a starter set and you can have two track set ups, figure 8 or just and oval. What I have found though is that if you want a lot of flexibility in layouts on the Thomas train table, the 3 1/2" curves&switches offer more options for different layouts. The 6 1/2" curves can be hard to fit&work with on a train table. In defense of the bigger curves though, I've found the battery powered trains have an easier time with the larger radius curves especialy when pulling coaches and they sometimes get hung up on the switches. (This really is my kids toy) This is probably not the best option unless you want to get really serious with a huge layout. Here is my Thomas recommendation: The Thomas train sets are great modern versions of the classic indestructible wooden train sets. Simple enough to avoid the toddler age frustrations of getting the cars to run on the track yet complex enough to engage a wide range of ages (up to and including Grandpas). All the stories help with the imagination part....the books&videos provide an endless source of adventures that can be acted out, although most kids are perfectly capable of inventing their own episodes. Here is my advice, if you are trying to work your way through the maze of start-up options: First of all, you can spend a fortune on a huge set....even if you can afford it, I would start with something small and give the child the joy of receiving a chain of small but intriguing presents over a long period of time. It fosters the joy of giving/receiving and helps teach them to come back again and again to the same toy...watching it grow, asking for specific items from the stories they hear, etc. Several reviewers suggest painting an old coffee table and this is a great idea. I suggest the Figure 8 set (the most popular one) or if you want to spend a little bit more, the Conductors Figure 8 set. Both are complex enough to be interesting, but simple enough to give lots of room for growth. Almost immediately I would add a new present of one of the inexpensive engines (you can ask the child which story they like best and get that engine for them....or buy the engine to go with the video or book in the same gift)....these would be Percy The Small Engine, Bill The Yellow Engine, Treavor, (or a bit more $ for:) The Lady Engine, James The Red Engine, Gordon The Express Engine (he's one of the best stories, I think), or Henry The Green Engine. Now for the good stuff! Give it a month or so, and then reward the child with something really cool like the Barrel Loader or Rusty the Construction 3 Car Set. I honestly can't see the point in the huge multi hundred dollar system sets. If you want to impress the neighbors or something, go for it, but I'm telling you.....most kids will enjoy a large number of small thoughtful gifts, not a "keep-up-with-the-Jones" effort on your part. Good behavior can be rewarded with a pick-your-own trip to the store (there are sometimes when a real time shopping trip can't be beat) By the way, the Thomas stories are based on real restored engines that run in England on the Mid-Hants Railway Watercress line near Winchester (you can read about them an even plan a trip to ride on the real Thomas trains by checking out watercressline.co.uk). They are a day trip from the London rail stations, although I recommend using a B&B in the Winchester area and staying overnight if you decide to go. Winchester was the center of the old Saxon kingdom of Wessex of King Alfred as well as a major early medieval site (the Cathedral has the tombs of many of the Saxon Kings as well as Jayne Austen and Izaac Walton and it was where Richard the Lionhearted was crowned.) Very durable. Just enough tracks to expand out exisiting train set. If I had it to do over, I would look for a set that had some type of track that would split into two tracks ... These set expansion packs are great assortments for beginning to experienced engineers. He loves to open and close the gate and listen to the bells and watch the lights. It's a small enough piece that it doesn't take up a lot of room on the table, and he's gotten so much enjoyment from it. It seems very durable and not too expensive a piece. My 5 year old daughter also loves playing with her little brother's train table! I am very satisfied with this product. We have a train that goes through town, but we don't always get to see it on our walks. When we have the kids get all excited and wave to the train. This toy replicates that so the kids learn about crossing, the lights, gates up and down, etc. Some times they just love to see the lights flashing and hear the bells ringing, although the noise is not so loud that it would drive parents crazy, thankfully. my son loves thomas and he saw this at toys r' us and we gave it to him for xmas and he was so happy. I bought this item for my son, along with a small starter track, because I wasn't sure how much he'd play with it and I didn't want to spend a ton of money if it wasn't going to get much use -- any parent knows what I'm talking about!
