This last locomotive, Murdoch is his favorite, not only because it is the last one, he wanted it for a while, but probably because of its character in the movie.』
(New generation of Learning Curve - Plastic, Plastic, Plastic) 『Murdoch is the most plasticky of the Thomas engines we have bought. His geometry is also poor if you have the older "clickity clack" style of tracks (specifically, he bumps going up ascenders). My son loves his look and he is stylish, but the wheel arrangement (mentioned in numerous other reviews) leaves Murdoch a little stiff for cornering. So he is a handsome engine, and a little awkward, but this engine has A LOT of plastic. The newer engines just keep getting more and more plastic parts. It seems antithetical to the "wooden railway" ethic to have so much plastic on an engine - even a really useful one.』

(This is a great toy!) 『My three year old daughter loves this toy! It is so simple that she has no problems with the remote control. We have really old and really thick carpet, and this little bee zooms around on it with no problems. It does make a whirring type noise when it is on, and the little bee bottom spins, so I can see how it could become annoying to some people, but we just tune it out like all the other noisy toys in this house! The poor little bee has also survived the abuse of my 11 month old son, and has come through with no major injuries. An added bonus is how much the cats enjoy chasing it around the house! I think it does have educational value because it has taught my daughter that if she wants it to go somewhere, she has to wait for it to turn that way and then quick press the button. She has to think ahead. This is a super cute toy, but I bet a school age kid might tire of it pretty quickly with the simplistic remote control. (my way older than school age husband, however, has not tired of it yet)』

Wrong. If the bumble bee is turned on it spins in a circle (noisily) and if the child pushes the button then the bumble bee goes straight. While my children (ages 2 and 5) enjoy this toy, their parents can't take much more than about 5 minutes of the noise at a time. (These cars go fast!) 『Bought these to go along with the Plan City garage and fire house that our 4 year old already has, and he just loves these cars. They're lightweight and easy to carry around, and the little rubber wheels make them go really, really fast when you run them on bare floors - faster than any hot wheels cars, for sure. The wheels do come off, though, when little fingers go prying, so you have to be careful around little brothers and sisters. We really like these little toys - and the kids love to play with them - especially with the accessory items.』

The cars are quite easy to learn how to "rev up", but our son also just enjoys pushing them around himself. We are very very pleased with this track and the car that came with it.』
