And it is the first toy he runs to play with at our locally owned toy store. When his 2nd birthday approached my husband and I purchased it from amazon. And we are so glad we did!. The shipping was fast and FREE. And The toy is the delight of his little life. We also purchased the Melissa and Doug train table. DH put it together the night before his birthday and set it up in our office, then shut the door. The next day we brought him downstairs and let him unwrap two small presents as decoys. He was appreciative but not very excited. So, we took him to the office and opened the door and there was HIS train set. He broke into cheers of "Choo-Choo! Choo-choo! Choo-choo!" He was so excited about the train set his little hands shook as he gathered them up and held them all to his chest. It is the ONLY toy he wants to play with. Not always on the track (often on other furniture) but the trains are wonderful and work interchangeably with other wooden sets (Thomas and Brio.)It is a toy that we like to play with him too. It makes all the grown-ups feel like kids again. My only disappointment was that it was made in China. I wrongly assumed all Melissa and Doug toys were made in the US. But that aside it is a perfect toy for any kid that loves trains.』

Percy is the best Thomas engine for mobility -- since it only has TWO sets of wheels, it goes around curves better. The bigger bulkier trains (ie Gordon etc) de-rail if you let them loose down hills and they have to make a sharp turn. Percy is smaller but his compactness makes him a much more agile train and he does hills and curves much better without the derailing. Not that my little guy notices or cares, but if you have to pick one Thomas train to get, I recommend Percy. Then save your money and buy the non-character trains which are just as good (and the less bulky and the smaller they are, the better they ride anyway!)』

However, I'm really disappointed because the trailer doesn't stay attached very well. It frequently comes off and is hard to attach and super flimsy when it is attached. It's frequently in two pieces in our house.』
(Disappointed in this toy) 『We bought this for our 3-year-old who already had most of the die-cast cars. He was so excited when he opened it-- until he started to play with it. While the truck is die-cast, the trailer is VERY CHEAP plastic. It's light-weight and hard to play with. The trailer doesn't stay attached very well, and it is difficult for a child to get McQueen in and out (it doesn't open and close very easily).
It has led to much frustration on our son's part, who just wants to PLAY without having to worry about the trailer coming off or having to have mommy or daddy help get McQueen in or out.
While it is a cute toy, I would not have purchased it had I known it would be so difficult to use. I have the Dinoco and Chick Hicks haulers tucked away for Christmas, but I will be returning them.
I will say, however, that the cheapo trailer did survive being thrown across the room when my son threw it in frustration! It was hard to punish him for his actions, considering this is such a frustrating toy. I kinda felt like doing the same thing myself.』

(Must-have for kid's Cars collection!) 『Contrary to my 2-year-old's reaction when I opened this truck, I was a bit disappointed. We'd already purchased my son all the available die-cast cars from Disney and he really wanted a "Mack" too. So we bought this one. While the truck portion of it is die-cast, the trailer is plastic. I guess I shouldn't have expected it to be all metal, as that would make it too heavy. But I thought it was kind of "cheapy". The trailer opening was flimsy and I suspected it would quickly break under the abuse of a 2-year-old.
Race forward 3 months...KACHOW!! Mack is still in one piece and has been played with hours on end! My son is never without Mack (with McQueen in the trailer, of course). He carries it around everywhere. Like previous viewers mentioned, he loves to put McQueen in/out of the trailer. This was absolutely worth the purchase. Thinking back, I didn't buy this for myself; it was for my son. Why was I so critical of the toy when my son's eyes lit up as soon as he saw it? From my son's perspective, this toy deserves 5+ stars. And mom's rating is also 5+. My son loves the truck and it has lasted all the hours of play/abuse. I have yet to find any pieces come off, even after being dropped several times. Now mommy has to get what my son calls "King Mack" and "Chick Hicks Mack". :0) Any "Car's" loving kiddo will love this!』

I bought them specifically for outdoor play so these are what to go the park, sandbox, and pool. The sandbox is the favorite venue for the trucks and he'll sit there for an hour just playing with them.
They are plastic but very durable. They've been crushed under the stroller, thrown, dropped.. the cement mixer part pops off the easiest, but it goes back on just as easily. No cracking after 5 months of hard play.
Not only that, but they are very cheap. I got these at Toys R Us in pack for $10. Not as good as some have said, but it's still totally worth it for all the hours of enjoyment he's had.』

My son was totally geeked for that, which is the only reason I bought it. Not a bit of it done the way the preview was, he was horribly disappointed. While we both loved the video and Pierce Brosnan as the narrator, we both felt let down by the misleading preview.
Anyway, the story, songs&narration were wonderful, but beware it's not done in CGI, it's the regular Thomas show.』
