However, this set does not come with any adaptors to allow the old blue tracks to be used together. I have seen special editions of the new Trackmaster sets that come with the adaptors so worth looking out for these. Otherwise you can buy the adaptors separately but they are very pricey.』

After my nephew received it they discovered it was plastic much to my dissapointment as it is no use to him. I've tried sitting with him and showing him how to race the cars down the track, to push the button for the platforms to lift, but he couldn't care less. He pulls off the snap-on platforms for the cars, and for some reason, has developed an intense dislike for the blue track. He always rips it from the unit and pushes it under the couch. He does like the cars though, he plays with them fairly often on their own.
Overall, I can't say I'd recommend this, though it absolutely depends on the child. I see many reviewers here whose children loved this...unfortunately mine just didn't take to it. I also feel it's a bit pricey for what you get and how little it does.』

You are paying for the innovation and convenience... they are very well designed, high quality and hold the tracks very well. Think about how much you spend on the trains, table and other accessories and these clips are worth more than $1 a piece!
The real value with 4 and 2 year old boys is being able to create really cool elevated layouts without the tracks coming undone... "Dad! Track broken!" Without the clips all the other stuff would not get used much so would be a terrible waste.
We use a Nilo train table with Nilo jacks. The jacks allow you to do up to 3 elevated sections on top of one another and extend the tracks off the table. This adds a lot of variety and infinite possibilties for the table and makes it way more fun for the kids and grown ups a like. Again without the clips this would not be possible. We have 3 boxes which is 42 clips and that is enough to secure all the elevated sections on our most extensive layouts... you don't need to clip the tracks laying flat on the table.
If you install the clips pointing the right way they work excellent to hold ascending track sections and elevated Y switches. I have needed to modify a truss bridge to accomodate the clips, that was just a matter of cutting small notches to make room for the clips.

I bought it for my grandson (3 yrs old) who is out of state so I haven't actually seen the product. But my daughter says he plays with the set daily and especially likes the Suretrack parts to hold the wooden pieces together. Said that they were great for holding the "bridge" track pieces together. Hearing from my daughter these are a wonderful part of the whole track setup.』

The pieces do secure my son's Thomas wooden tracks securely but I did encounter a few glitches. These connectors raise the connected tracks about 1/8 inch above the adjacent tracks that are not/cannot be connected (such as bridges and other Thomas "destination" accessories such as the firehouse and tunnel). This results in the trains catching at these areas where the connections are disjointed. This issue is minor as they secure the elevated tracks together nicely, reducing the number of block supports that are easily knocked over. I do recommend Suretrack but just keep in mind they are made ideally just for sections of track and do not connect at bridges, tunnels, and other destinations.』

First off i think they are over priced nearly a dollar a piece! that's too much! it certainly doesn't cost a tenth of that to manufacture. because they have no competitors they can charge that.
secondly, the track still falls apart on occasion and i am back fixing the problem. even when my toddler is trying to "play nice" it still breaks some times. sometime he takes the track clips as a personal challenge to get the pieces apart, but that's not a manufacturing error.
thirdly they don't play nice with the imaginarium spiral train set. they are not compatible, they are too wide for the support columns.

(Good toy, but not as well built as a non-mini) 『My son already has a bunch of normal-sized Automoblox cars. He plays with them every day even though he is only 20-months old and they are recommended for 3+ year olds. I find Automoblox to be high quality toys.
I purchased four MINI Automoblox cars (red coupe, blue sedan, green pickup, and green SUV) so we can take them for trips for my boy to play. My son loves MINIs too. If he plays with MINIs inside the car, it is challenging to find small wheels after he takes them off and drops them on the floor.
There are two major differences (besides the size) in MINIs compared to the full-size Automoblox that I want to mention:
1. MINIs do not come with driver and passengers 2. All four MINIs use the same type of connectors for the wooden pieces (full-size Automoblox have vehicle specific connectors that can be interchanged and add another level to the puzzle)
It seems that the quality of the MINIs is just slightly below the quality of full-sized Automoblox cars. There are some artifacts from the manufacturing process on wooden bodies of the MINIs. Nevertheless, Automoblox are great fun toys.』

He also loves using the water hose that takes water from the little tank on the top. The nozzle of the hose is not secured well and can be a choking hazard when it comes off, so take that into consideration when allowing a small child to play with it. The truck has proven to be very durable. It still looks great almost a year after purchase and has been played with constantly! This brand of trucks is a little pricey, but well worth the money! You get what you pay for with toys- so spending your money on a durable and engaging toy that isn't played with for a week and then forgotten is money well spent!』

The truck is very good quality - sturdy with real rubber wheels. The fact that it actually functions alone puts it above any others you may be considering. It has a tank that you can fill up behind the cab that allows a hose to function that is part of the cement truck, and if you fill up the cement mixer with water and turn the crank it slowly pours out of the cement chute at the back. (Lots of fun for truck lovers of all ages) 『We got this cement mixer for our son two years ago, when he was not quite 3 years old. From the first day, he was thrilled. I think he liked that it was bigger than his other toy trucks. He had no trouble figuring out how to make all the parts work, and has played with it pretty regularly since then. Overall, it's a nicely detailed, sturdy truck, that has provided him with many hours of entertainment.
Some of the parts of the truck do come off from time to time - the hose gets disconnected, the pail doesn't stay hanging on its hook, even the main mixing cylinder has been known to come off from time to time. The nice thing, though, is that they're easy to reassemble, and the parts themselves haven't broken, even with a couple of years of not-so-gentle use. In my book, that counts toward the "durability" rating. They're a bit more expensive than some of the alternatives, but the quality is much higher, as well.
Overall, we've been very pleased with this truck. We got our son another truck from Bruder last year, and will get another one this year. In fact we bought two - the other as a gift for our friends' son.
Let me say first: I love Green Toys. I love that they are a US-based company that recycles and makes really cool simple toys that are 100% safe. And I love the classic chunky-style of this dump truck.
However, I think it's ridiculous that the wheels don't roll on hardwood floors (our house is all hardwood floors, save for a couple area rugs). It's a notch better on the rugs, and outdoors in the grass. The wheels still seem reluctant to turn, even on terrain they can grip on. This seems like such an obvious design flaw. Didn't they test drive the dump truck before mass-producing it? I mean, we're talking wheels and an axle here, it's not rocket science.
We decided to keep it anyway, or rather my daughter did. It was her purchase, after all. She doesn't seem to mind terribly sliding it around indoors. It gets the most use in the sandbox anyway.
I guess if I had to buy it again, heck, I probably would... at least if it were on sale again. Who knows, we might add the recycle truck to the collection despite the fact I suspect it would have the same flaw... if it goes on sale. I guess it comes down to this: Do you want a safe toy? Or one that works? OK, I want both. Maybe I'll disassemble the thing and see if there's an easy fix.
In summation, this is definitely not Green Toys' best effort.』

A few things to keep in mind, though. This is a toy that requires a lot of your attention. The hot water must be hot and the cold, cold. I end up making a lot of trips to the sink for him. You also have to dump the water out of the little catch pan every so often. And you have to dump water out of the entire thing every so often. It catches quite a bit of water, but it will make a wet mess.
The cars seems to wear out after about 30 minutes, and once they sit and get back to room temperature they are fine. So I just bought a few extra cars and keep some up for my son and rotate them. And if the cars aren't changing colors, you water probsbly needs to be colder (put ice in the spray bottle).
To add something else to it, I gave my son a toothbrush and a paintbrush so he can "paint" the cars too. He likes to make stripes and spots.
Even with the hassel, my son loves it and it is completely worth it. We've only had it a week, so I can't comment on the durability. Some small parts that with really rough treatment, they will probably break.
Highly recommended if you kid loves cars, water or just loves to see how things work! And it is not too expensive either (it was cheaper at Target).』
