I bought with goal of accomplishing fun exercise and fitness without hurting my back as usual - plus my young son will ride his scooter with me and let me do this for exercise. It's great. I used to ride a skateboard about 20-25 years ago and it made me feel a little bit like a little girl again! You have to use your core muscles for balance on this so it does help use those although you will not feel that either during or after. Balancing and moving are fun enough that you will get a sweat up and be out of breathe without noticing it when you are playing around - which is great news for other adults like me who can find fitness to be a chore! I throw this in the car for the park or ride it around the neighborhood and keep up with my son on his bike because it is easier on my back and a (better) workout - plus it's a great size. For all the other folks: my sisters are really fit and have no physical issues and they tried it out and really liked it too. They were surprised at the tight turns and balance that it took to ride this. You could tell they enjoyed the speed, too. They never got into skating so they were surprised about how fun it was and that you used your muscles to ride it. Bottom line is this: it easily allows you to work up to how much balance you will need and the more balance you use the more fun you have (and the faster you can go)! The primary reason I decided to learn to ride a unicycle is to help combat one of the preventable effects of aging, now that I'm in my early fifties. I've noticed that some older people seem to start losing their sense of balance, and I can't think of any better exercise to prevent or even reverse that loss than unicycle riding. - The product assembled quite easily due to the simplicity of a unicycle, and all necessary parts were included and correct. Unfortunately, the amount of torque needed to tighten the seat clamp in order to keep the seat from twisting off-center would seem to hinder quick readjustment to accommodate different-height riders, but for me that is just a good excuse not to have to share my unicycle ;-) - I've been learning to ride in my apartment on light tan carpet, and there are no signs of any black marks from the tires, although once I take it on the street it will have to be an "outdoor only" cycle. I hadn't even counted on being able to ride it indoors, but once I put it together, indoor use seemed quite doable, especially with the smaller size and greater maneuverability of a 20" wheel. Riding down a hallway may even be the perfect place for early training. It worked well for me, and I've even managed to keep from putting any marks on the wall. - It's been a long time since I've been this happy with a purchase. This Avenir unicycle seems like the perfect opportunity to discover the benefits and satisfaction of learning to ride a unicycle, and for a very reasonable price. The construction is surprisingly flimsy, nothing like the Flyer I had as a kid. The wheel hub is nylon which fits directly on the steel axel, so it is nylon rotating on steel. I am not sure how long that will last. The wheels attach with a hammer-on one-way cap that cannot be removed. They do include two extra caps in case a wheel has to be removed, which can only be done by destroying the cap. The picture shows two kids seated in the wagon. I am not sure it is sturdy enough for that. The frame bows significantly with just one kid. The bearing for the handle is just cheap, thin, steel on steel, not really a bearing at all. It will not last. The kids will get some enjoyment out of this for a year or two but it is not the sort of thing that they will leave to their kids or even a sibling. Not as sturdy as the old Flyers. It is made in China of course, as cheaply as possible. The bolts have nylon inserts in the nut rather than lock washers. My experience has been that these are not as reliable as lock washers. Sad. If I didn't need this for a birthday present I would probably return it. Amazon service was superfast as usual. I have no problem with Amazon. But the wagon is a disappointment.』
