customer 's review
(Best book I've found for maintaning your bike.)

(comprehensive repair guide)

(Possibly the most useful tool you can buy.)

(Very good: well produced, well written)

(The "must-have" reference for bicycle repair gets better...)
I've found this book to have all the illustrations I need to properly maintain my bike. The book most frequently recommended on this site, The Bicycling Guide to Complete Bicycle Maintenance and Repair: For Road and Mountain Bikes(Expanded and Revised 5th Edition) I've found to be great on theory but horrible for practical applications.

This book, the Big Blue Book, on the other hand has tons of practical applications. I feel its the perfect book for people who want to spend more time fixing their bikes and less time discussing what angle a fork or seatpost should be at.

One picture that stands out is taking apart the rear hub, how many different types of fittings you can expect to find. It's very straight forward and something a beginner mechanic definitely needs, and a good reference for anyone of any skill.

Regular maintenance is a must for anybody who regularly rides a bicycle. There are two ways to maintain your bike; either pay somebody else to do it, or do it yourself. Having spent a great deal of money over the years paying bike shops to do tune ups and replace components, and having also had these very same professionals (at multiple shops) completely botch relatively simple operations, I have come to prefer the latter. To this end, a good bicycle repair manual is mandatory.

Based on the positive recommendations of several discussion boards and previous reviewers, I bought this particular manual. It offers a thorough set of instructions by a preeminent mechanic covering virtually every repair and maintenance operation you can expect to perform on your bicycle. Each major component of the bicycle has a chapter devoted to it. Illustrations are copious and in color, with clear notations throughout. It is actually a real treat to thumb through the chapters and soak up the knowledge contained therein, and though I am no expert, my impression is that the author has effectively transmitted his massive expertise into the written medium.

I have a few other bike repair manuals including fine editions from Zinn and Langley. I find the Park Repair Book superior in that it offers more logical steps and better illustrations. Seems to work for me. One improvement would be a larger format with a spiral binding that would lay flat... maybe the 3rd edition. That said, if you need one bike repair book, get this one.

FWIW... On several occasions in the past I have contacted Park Tool and found their service to be exceptional. Their tools cost a little more but are well designed and built to last.

Just to echo the other comments, BBB-2 is a very good repair manual for the intermediate home bicycle enthusiast. It is the best produced of any bike manual I've seen, with excellent, clear photos and layout. It does emphasize Park tools in every possible context, but it is understood that Park tools are pretty much the best.

At 245 pages, it covers every topic relevant to a home repair. You won't learn how to build a wheel, but you will learn how to true a wheel.

The only downside is that the book is so nice, I'd hate to get grease on it.

This new Park Tool Big Blue Book of Repair - 2nd Edition (also known as BBB-2 to differentiate it from the first edition) is a superb improvement over the original edition, Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair, which was considered by many to be THE "must-have" reference for bicycle repair by many enthusiasts, cyclists and bike shop owners.

This is a good, solid repair manual for almost any bike, be it the single-speed classic cruiser, mountain bike, BMX or road bike. At 246 pages, this new edition has hundreds of photos that will prove to be quite helpful when doing bike maintenance. Like the previous edition, it was written by Calvin Jones, whose years of experience as the Park Tool Director of Education shows.

There is a definite emphasis on tool selection (don't forget that it comes from Park Tool), but such topics as general bike upkeep, emergency repairs, on-the-road fixes and even bike cleaning tips are well covered. There's a thorough table of contents that will appeal to novice, experienced enthusiast and shop mechanic alike.

The various sections cover a wide range of topics. For example, the chapter on pedals covers everything from removal and installation to bearing service to servicing Shimano pedals. There are plenty of helpful photos in each chapter to help illustrate the repair topics. The four appendices in the back of this edition cover such topics as a tool list, glossary, the recommended torque for bike components and a bike map.

The Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair is used as the official student textbook in a unique program for learning bicycle maintenance and repair known as the Park Tool School. Check with your local bicycle dealer to see if one of these hands-on programs is coming to your area. If so, getting this new edition will give you a jump on the curriculum covered.

Another excellent manual worth considering is The Bicycling Guide to Complete Bicycle Maintenance and Repair: For Road and Mountain Bikes, a more basic, well-written reference that is also excellent for teaching youngsters how to perform their own bike repairs.

Even if you just want to get BBB-2 as your sole bike repair manual, it's a great 5-star reference. Highly recommended.

Park BBB-2 Big Blue Book of Bike Repair- 2nd Edition-2008 Written by Park Tool Director of Education Calvin Jones with repair tips garnered from the author's 30 years as an educator and mechanic. Big Blue just got bigger and better! Freshly updated to include new topics, latest technology, techniques and equipment. Packed with hundreds of photos and hundreds of procedures. From tire repair and derailleur adjustment to wheel truing and bottom bracket replacement. Special topics such as tool selection, bike cleaning, and on-the-trail repairs are also covered, and an appendix at the back of the book provides valuable reference materials the BBB-2 provides both the novice and veteran mechanic the information needed to perform nearly any repair from trailside repairs to complete overhauls. The Big Blue Book is the perfect reference guide and step-by-step repair manual for nearly any bike, including road, mountain, bmx, and single-speed. We wrote the book on bicycle repair.

(Good For Kids Only)

(Great safety)

(great pads)

(Mongoose BMX Bike Gel Knee and Elbow pads)

(Great Bike Knee&Elbow Pads)
Unless you are an adult the size and weight of an average 10 year old girl, don't buy these for yourself. Luckily, I have a kid who can use them since they were too small for me. However, they are well constructed and she seems very comfortable wearing them for several hours at a time. They haven't been tested in an actual scootering fall yet, but by looking at them I am fairly certain they can take quite a hit and keep elbows and kneecaps from serious impact damage. At least I hope so. Also they are very cool to look at being deep black with orange buttons.
Purchased for my grandson to protect those knees and elbows when he's on his skateboard. They've done the job so far. Nice product.
Very adjustable, able to my 6 year old daughter and me. Just what said it would be.
They fit both my small 8 year-old and 5 year-old grandkids nicely. They seemed to be well-padded and fit for the job of pprotecting their skinny joints. Price was right. They both liked the looks, and stood about posturing their superpowers.
This was a great purchase. My 9 year old son just got his first BMX type bike and kept falling. These pads fit nice and tight, but have plenty of room to adjust and grow with him. The gel padding has protected him through many more falls. Great price too!

(Ummmm, it's a bell and it rings.....)

(Ring Ring!)

(love my bell, use it right!)

(One of the best)

(Great bike bell for a great price)
Purchased this for my son's air navigator. What can I say, it's a bell, it rings and he likes it. For a few $$$ it is a fun addition to a Kettler trike.
My son loves this bell and it's easy for him to use as he rides his trike!
I wish all bikes had bells, like europe, in portland Or, the big biking place, bikes sneak up on your left, whisper, "onyourleft" and scare you just for the fun of it. They pass as fast as they can, for fun, no bells.
I have biked for my entire life, and never meet such rude bikers.

I aam not such a rude person, being from the midwest first, then oregon.
With this bell I can ring a 1/2 tone a 1/2 block away which moves walkers to the side without causing heart attacks. I like this bell because of the ability to modulate the tone to 1/2 and 1/4 rings with finger pressure.
When the walkers are lost in a haze, I just ring 1/4 tone, then 1/2 tone then 1 tone as I move up on them , just like Europe. Someday americans will stop hogging the walking/bike paths. This bell, used right will help.
Use it early!!! not late.

For the price paid, this bell is a bargin. Well constructed, sturdy, does its job. I only wished they had it available in other colors to match my bike.
After searching many bike stores and not finding a decent bell (and buying one that just fell apart the day I bought it), I finally searched online for a bell and found this one. Although bike bells seem like they're for kids, I find them really useful in riding around the busy roads of Los Angeles, especially when warning pedestrians in crowded areas.

This bell is very sturdy and rings loudly and is very easy to install. I've been very satisfied with this purchase and if anyone is looking for a bell, recommend this one highly.

(Bicycle Light)

(Good stuff!!)

(lifesaver)

(Good light for the price)

(Light good, attachment pieces terrible)
I think this light is well worth the money. I occasionally ride when
it's dark and this "Blinky" add the measure of safety I wanted.

This is a great product for the money. The mount was a cinch to install on the seat post of my bike and took only about 10 minutes. It comes without instructions, and I was a little puzzled at first as to how to install the batteries. That was a minor hurdle and certainly no reason to rate the light down at all. It was a simple matter of pulling the red lens cover away from the black part. It takes a little effort, and I was afraid of breaking it. However, it proved to be up to the task so don't be too worried about that--you should be able to do it with just your hands easily enough. I can't speak to the battery life at this point, but the light is BRIGHT! When I held it at arms length I was seeing spots afterwards. A driver would have to be asleep at the wheel not to notice me.
Does what it's supposed to do, and does it well. 3 LEDs, plenty bright. Battery life is good. Comes with seat post and seat stay attachments, the stay one is pretty useful for attaching the light in odd places (such as my milk crate).

A typically well thought-out and quality Planet Bike product.

PS: This is the same light that comes with the combined Beamer 1 and Blinky 3 set, but the set doesn't come with the seat stay mount.

Not much to say, this is a great light for the price. 3 functions work well and it is easy to install.

Plus, it's from Madison, WI (great biking city) so you know it's good!

Five stars for the actual light, one star for the attachment pieces. If you don't have a seat bag, it should attach fine to your seat post. If you have a seat bag, then it has to clip to the back of your seat bag or on the seat stays. Neither of the two attachment pieces they sent fit on the seat stays on our Specialized bikes (which are not rounded). One of the piece is too large for the stays, the other is too small. So, we put the lights on our seat bag tags, but it just clips on and does not have a snap... and so one of ours fell off one of the bags when we were biking recently and hit a small bump. Thankfully we heard it fall and retrieved it; now I'm trying to cover the clip with duct tape. The manufacturer needs to have a clip bottom that actually snaps to the frame so there's no possibility of the unit falling off. They also need to provide some type of adjustable attachment device that will ensure that the light can be attached to any seat stay.
Planet Bike BRT-3 Taillights includes batteries, seatpost and seatstay mounts.
The Planet Bike Blinky "3" 3-Led Rear Bicycle Light provides 300 percent brighter eXtreme LEDs to ensure that you will be seen by cars coming up from behind for as far as one mile away. Users rave about the exceptional brightness of this powerful little light as well as its long battery life. The light features steady or blinking modes, and will run on two AAA batteries for up to 200 hours.

Super convenient and easy to use, the light has two mounting options--a clip for the seat post or a clip for a rear-side strut. The clip can also be attached to a bag or clothing so you can use it for night walking as well as riding. Easy to detach from the seat post mount, the light is small enough to fit into a pocket or small bag if you need to take it with you. Altogether, the Blinky is an economical choice that offers long-lasting visibility for night riding and lots of convenience.

About Planet Bike
In November 1996, Planet Bike was founded in Madison, WI. In many ways, Planet Bike began as a social experiment that dedicated itself to doing business in a different way. Instead of being just another company that develops and sells products with profit as its end goal, Planet Bike wanted to help bring about positive change for people, their communities, and the environment.

Despite being a simple machine, the people at Planet Bike have always believed that the bicycle has great potential to help improve the world and the lives of the people in it. From the start, they have embraced an alternative corporate purpose which seeks to help get more people on bicycles by making communities friendlier places for the self-propelled. By donating 25% of company profits to causes that promote and facilitate bicycle usage, Planet Bike hopes to make an impact.

Social experiments aside, Planet Bike was born from the heart of a cyclist with a goal of making innovative, high-quality, and practical bicycle accessories. Simply put, the company strives to design and develop the best bicycle products in the world. In the company's short 10-year history, it has made important product innovations within the bicycle industry. Advancements include the four-line computer which is now a standard in the industry and the world's first self-contained HID light. Not bad for a company that 10 years ago started as a one-man operation. Today, while still a small company, Planet Bike continues to evolve and improve its product line with the goal of always striving to build accessories that make it easier for people to ride their bikes. Since 1996, Planet Bike's financial support of the grassroots bicycle movement has totaled $500,000. By 2010, they have made a goal to donate $1 million to organizations that are dedicated to making America a friendlier place for cyclists.

(NICE RIDE!!)

(Purchaser)
This was a gift for my grandsons. I am told they really like it and ride it all the time. It was easy to put together and use.
We bought this for our 11 year old son. Overall we think it is pretty nice. We have had no problems with it at all.
We actually purchased a Razor E100 First for our 8 year old daughter and it was a piece of garbage- Then we bought the E200 and thought it was great, so we thought the E300 would be even better. It's a great scooter but we were a little disappointed that you can't adjust the handlebars on this one like the E200 to go up and down. Other than that it performs very well.
I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY SONS BIRTHDAY AND WAS SUPRISED HOW NICE THIS SCOOTER IS! HE LOVES IT! HE DID TAKE A SPILL,&LUCKILY ONLY SCRAPED HIS LEG, SO MOM AND DADS...... ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOUR KIDS USE A HELMET!! ALWAYS. TELL YOUR KID-- IT SHOWS THAT YOU ARE SMARTER THAN THE OTHER KIDS WHO DONT.(IF THEY SAY "MY FRIENDS DONT WEAR ONE!") IT LASTS QUITE A WHILE BEFORE HAVING TO RECHARGE IT TOO! I SAVED SOME MONEY TOO. MC SPORTS WANTED $250.00 I'D SAY I GOT A DEAL! THANKS AMAZON, YOU ALWAYS SEEM TO SAVE ME $$
The scooter is great. I did arrive with some damage. The chain guard
was cracked.

The ever-popular Razor E300 Electric Scooter is new and improved for 2006!

Features:

  • Super-sized deck and frame for riders of almost all sizes
  • High-performance, variable-speed, quiet chain-drive motor for speeds up to 15 mph
  • Twist-grip acceleration control
  • Hand-operated rear brake
  • Folding handlebar mechanism for easy storage and transport
  • Extra-wide 10" pneumatic front and rear tires for smooth ride

(fun for a couple of days)

    (Great battery and delivery)

    (Slow Shipping)

    (Batteries work fine)

    (I have bought four....never again!!)
This battery was great for about two charge cycles...I charged it 18 hours the first time like the instructions said to do. Jeep ran great for about the expected two hours or so...Charged it again that night for 14 hours...ran great again...The third day, I charged it for 14 hours again and hooked it up to the jeep and NOTHING ...I followed all of the instructions to a T. What a piece of JUNK. Power Wheels should be ashamed of themselves for selling such an awful product and doing nothing about it.
We ordered this battery from Amazon. This was the best price, delivery time was excellent and battery works great. Follow charging instructions carefully for maximum battery life.
The only negative thing is how long it took to receive the battery. We waited about a month before it was shipped. Try explaining that every day to a 4 yr old why she couldn't ride her beach car.
The battery will work fine for 2-3 seasons provided you keep it charged.
My kids have enjoyed these for years, A new battery will last most of the day, and I do have hills. By the third season the charge won't hold very long.

The quickest way to ruin lead-acid batteries is to discharge them deeply and leave them stand "dead" for an extended period of time. When they discharge, there is a chemical change in the positive plates of the battery. They change from lead oxide when charged to lead sulfate when discharged. If they remain in the lead sulfate state for a few days, some part of the plate does not return to lead oxide when the battery is recharged. If the battery remains discharged longer, a greater amount of the positive plate will remain lead sulfate. The parts of the plates that become "sulfated" no longer store energy. Batteries that are deeply discharged, and then charged partially on a regular basis can fail in less than one year.

I have bought four of these batteries. I feel like a fool after reading so many bad reviews. Please look for an alternative. Out of the four batteries I have not gotten 20 hours of use. It is sad that a company as Fisher Price would sell such a mediocre product. The ride on is nice, please look for an alternative on replacing the batteries.

    (Radio Flyer Wagon)

(Radio Flyer All-Terrain Steel and Wood Wagon)

(Made in China "like everything else")

    (High Quality Wagon)

    (The best)
I bought the All-Terrain Wagon&Canopy for my grandaughters first birthday! They just love the wagon&how sporty it is.The canopy is great to sheild her from the sun&rain. This was a great gift for the whole family!
I gave my grandson a ride in his new wagon on his first birthday, and he loved it. We purchased the pads that cushion the ride, also. It was easy to assemble and the parts are durable. I would recommend finding a way to install safety belts because if Grandma stopped pulling, her passenger tried to lean over to get out!
I was disapointed that all the Radio Flyer items seem to be made in China.
We had to send one of the wood wagon sides back because of damage. I don't know how durable it will be. I just hope my Grandkids don't get sick from the materials used.
The one thing I'm very happy about. Amazon is a great way to buy stuff!

My mother insisted that we have this specific model of the Radio Flyer wagons because of her good experience with the one she owns. She was absolutely right! Not only is it made of high quality materials, but the large all-terrain tires are a must-have! They handle every type of terrain and are great for going up and down street curbs. The wood panels provide extra safety and security for little ones, and when paired with the Radio Flyer pads and side pads (also available on Amazon), it makes for a comfortable and safe ride for your little explorer. My son LOVES going for rides around the cul-de-sac and is learning a lot about cause 'n effect and movement by pushing and pulling the wagon and watching the tires move with him. I highly recommend purchasing this model!
I bought this wagon for my niece... well really almost as much for my brother. They both absolutely love it. She's not even a year old yet, so he piles it up with blankets and snugs her down. They also bought an awning for it. He says people stop him all the time and ask him where he got it. He told me it's extremely well built and is sure it will last a very, very long time. They live in upstate NY so the larger tires are great for hard packed trails and the roads when they have snow on them.
The perfect hybrid of a steel and wooden wagon. This award-winning wagon is made of resilient natural wood and has an extra large seamless steel body. The no-pinch ball joint gives the wagon a controlled turning radius, which prevents tipping. The extra-long handle for easy pulling, will fold under the wagon for compact storage. Real rubber tires that can be filled with air, can stand up to the toughest terrain, and give children a smooth ride.
Wagons don't get much tougher than this one. Sporting fat pneumatic tires and rugged, stainless steel construction, this jumbo Radio Flyer wagon can haul topsoil as easily as toddlers, ably handling any kind of terrain with its 3-inch-wide, 11-inch-high rubber wheels. With a 16-by-34-inch bed, the wagon provides ample room for five or six grocery bags--or a couple of kids (maybe even one more if they're small). Six-inch-high, removable wooden side rails give the 4-inch-deep bed even more hauling power, and a nearly 3-foot-long steel handle with a plastic grip provides the pulling power.--Paul Hughes

    (beginner scooter)

(For tall 2 year olds - not short ones.)

    (Awesome Safe Scooter)

    (Awesome 1st Scooter!)

(Great first scooter for a 2 year old!)
I am always impressed with the efficiency of ordering from Amazon.com.
I was very satisfied with the product, ease of assembly (there is none!) and the sturdiness of the scooter.
It is a perfect 1st scooter.
My niece is 4 and has already begun her scooter escapades.
Thank you Amazon for such an efficiently run website and quality merchandise Mary E.

Just bought this for my 2 year old daughter, as she's been admiring her older sister's Razor for a while and wanted her own. This one said ages 2-5 so I thought this one might work. She is on the petite side, a little under 33 inches and the handle bars are at the height of her neck so she had to reach up to grab them and if she puts one food down to move it, she has a hard time reaching the handle bars. Will look for something adjustable I guess or wait another year.

I bought this scooter for my son's 2 year birthday. He hopped on and immediately knew what to do. Within an hour of practicing, he was scooting along like a pro and doing fake "wipe outs." It's very stable and safe and also folds up nicely. The only thing that would make it a smidge better is if there was a handle for easy carrying in the folded position to make it easier to carry home from the park when my little guy is tired. Even my 5 year old daughter prefers this scooter because it's so stable.
We purchased this scooter for our son's 3rd birthday. He always gravitated towards this one whenever we went to the toy store and we are happy to report that he still loves it, once we got it home. Because it has 2 wheels in the front, as well as a larger base, it is much more stable than other similar models. Great product!
When scooter envy hits your 2+/- year old because they see their older sibling riding or a neighbor - this is a great option if... they haven't been able to master or never tried a older scooter (like the more typical 3 wheel one made for preschoolers - 2 wheels in back or the 2 wheel version). If they can do okay or well on the other, I agree with some of the neg comments that this truely beginner version won't measure up. It is slower to turn and made of plastic and slower to ride. But that is what makes it safer for a noviced 2 year old to ride. Our daughter just turned 2 and we got the pink version at ToysRUs for her - she loves it. She was envious of her brother's that is the preschool type but had trouble getting it to work for her at this age ( the steering to quick and the whole thing too wobbly for her ability). So when we saw this in the store and she rode it in circles around the bike stands for 40 min while we looked for a bike for our older son, we couldn't resist getting it. It is more challening for her on the sidewalk but she still is riding it. Hopefully she continues to enjoy it the whole season and if next year she wants more of a challenge we can get the preschool one. So - if you want it for a toddler great but if that child can already do the older scooter than stay away from this one. And although it is made of plastic - I will say this - Radio Flyer will replace any broken parts for free if you just call them. I had a handle on a bouncing pony bend because a child that was too old was too rough with it and they sent me a new one - no problem - no cost.

Scoot in style with this great Radio Flyer My 1st Scooter. The two front wheels provide stable steering capabilities making this a great first scooter. Design includes an extra wide base for maximum stability so you child can develop a sense of balance safely and comfortably. The rear wheel has a cover making this a safe ride. My First Scooter has a unique tapered base that provides a better kick path for kids. Your child will ride comfortably with the ergonomic grip handle. With just the push of a button the fold-down handle will hug the base making storage and portability easy.

(Well Designed&Extremely Competent Pump for its Size!)

    (Excellent pump)

    (Fantastic Pump&Mounting Tip)

    (great little pump)

    (topeak road morph)
I was looking for a 'medium-sized' pump with a gauge that could handle pumping higher pressure tires. I had my doubts before I tried it but this pump is a champ.

The handle twists out for more torque and the sliver that slides out for your foot to stabilize the pump - this is a killer combination for such a small pump. It allows you to easily pump a tire to higher pressures without a lot of effort.

Add the gauge and long hose (it's expandable - so longer than it looks even in the picture) for easy connections to your tires.

The bracket is also well done and holds it tight to your frame.

    This pump is a winner.

This is an excellent pump. Easily inflates road tires to an adequate amount of pressure to ride until a floor pump is available. Heavily used over the spring and summer on presta valves with no difficulties.

The only drawback is that the pump is quite long and may not fit all frames. The supplied bracket would replace a water bottle cage, which is not ideal, or could mount under the top tube, which could interfere with cabling.

I've mounted this using an older bottle cage bracket from a different pump and velcro straps.

Wow, what an improvement over first generation bike pumps going back 20 years ago. Pumped up my tires to 110 psi no problem. Flip handle and foot step are absolutely relevant and functional. If you find the gauge to be a little off, just make a note as to how much when compared to your reference gauge and problem solved. It is much better to have a gauge than not.

A mounting tip for the tension straps: The last time I had tension straps on a Cannondale frame, over time it scratched and wore down the paint and logo on the top tube. This time I cut a couple inches of inner tube and positioned it right under the tension straps. Keeps the mount extremely secure of any movement whatsoever. My only concern is moisture underneath, but I live in the desert and that's something I don't know as compared to what I do know with the tension straps directly up against the paint.

Buy this pump instead of those $10.00 ones if you need more than 30 pds pressure.
I ordered this pump over three weeks ago. About two weeks ago I received the wrong pump and had to spend seven dollars to send it back. I e-mailed the seller two days ago about the pump and they said they would be looking at it tomorrow. I feel like I won't be repayed for the money I spent on shipping. Hopefully they can make it right, but I would not recommend this seller.
The fold-down foot rest gives you floor pump leverage and the hose means you lower the risk of ripping the valve stem as you pump. Padded T-handle provides comfortable inflation. Reversible head quickly converts from Presta to Schrader. Lightweight aluminum barrel.
Every dedicated cyclist needs a good portable pump for his or her training rides. However, many on-the-go pumps are somewhat clunky and not all that easy to use. Enter the Topeak Road Morph G, which packs floor pump efficiency and ease of use into a compact, portable design you can bring along for the ride. The Road Morph G boasts a clever foldout footpad that stabilizes the pump against the ground rather than your hand, creating a comfortable, efficient pumping motion. Plus, the pump's flexible air hose makes it easy to work with awkward or tight valve placements while also helping prevent valve stem damage. Other features include an extra-long barrel, an inline gauge, a secure mounting bracket, a Presta/Schrader head, and a plastic thumb lock. The Road Morph G measures 2.2 by 13.8 by 1.1 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 0.49 pounds.

    (It's O.K.)

(Would not order online - buy it at a retail store)
My 7 yr old got this for his birthday and Loves it. The product is great price for the money.
Was iffy about buying an electric scooter for my six year old...safety and if she can handle it. Read reviews and was concerned about battery life but we've had this for two weeks now and it's awesome. After she got the hang of it, she was off and is so much fun. We go running as a family and I have to keep up with her. Battery life has lasted over 45 minutes over and down hills. The speed is fast enough for someone her age and should be good for her for couple of years. Very happy with this buy.
An excellent amusing scooter, reasonable price,Fedex shipping, works perfect, enough charging,my daughter likes it,amazon was so nice with me as the box arrived opened,I always recommend amazon for all.
    Thanks.
    Yousry Matta.

I am a 12 year old kid that's had this scooter for about 3 years. I use it about 2 times a day just up and down the block. I highly do NOT reccondmend it. It is great because the battery has not died yet and is very quiet. But, i waned to go to my community clubhouse which is about 5 blocks away and the battery died before i even was halfway there! I had to ride it like it was a regular scooter and by the time i got there, my leg was about to drop dead! It is great for fun and driving a few blocks away, but get the e300 which is a little more $$ but it is worth it! this one only goes 7 mph while the e300 goes 15 mph. plus, the e300's battery lasts ALOT longer. So, don't make your kid suffer with a cheap load of garbage. Get the e300 and get a smile that you wil never forget!
I purchased this scooter as a gift for my 9 yr old daughter. When the package arrived, the shipping box was completely mangled and destroyed (and not by FedEx - it had been shipped that way by the company!). The box was held together by several overlapping layers of packing tape. There were giant chunks of cardboard missing out of the box, and one whole end of the box was completely missing. Had it not been for my own child, there is no way I would have given this item in this condition as a gift to anyone else. There was also a scratch along the side of the scooter, congruent with some of the damage to the box. All of the parts appeared to be in the box however, and there was not enough time for me to send the scooter back and get another one before her birthday, so we did keep it.

I am giving this item 4 stars because my daughter absolutely LOVES the scooter, and the scratch did not affect its performance. However, I would strongly recommend actually going to a store and purchasing this item, instead of ordering it online. The box is big and heavy, and it would be very inconvenient to package it up and ship it all back if yours arrives the way mine did!

The Razor E100 2006 version is a new and improved electric scooter. Powerful fun at speeds up to 10 mph. Up to 40 minutes of continuous use after one charge. New chain driven motor and new twist-grip throttle.
Cruise around the neighborhood in style with the Razor E100 electric scooter. Boasting an adjustable handlebar that adapts to riders of all sizes, an ultra-quiet belt-driven motor, and a handy twist-grip throttle, the E100 is the perfect device for pre-teens and teens wanting to zip over to a friend's house or head to the park. Unlike Razor's E300S and E500S scooters--whose motors start from a standing position--the E100 requires a small manual kickoff to 3 miles per hour before starting (the rider presses a trigger to engage the motor). Once your child is on the move, however, the electric motor ramps up to 10 miles per hour--fast enough to have fun, but not fast enough to be a menace on the street or sidewalk.

Thanks to the long-life rechargeable battery, which takes about eight hours to fully charge, riders can cruise for up to 40 minutes at a stretch. Other details include a folding handlebar mechanism for easy storage and transport, an 8-inch pneumatic front tire and 4.9-inch polyurethane rear wheel, and a hand-operated front brake. The E100 is recommended for ages 8 and older and offers a maximum weight capacity of 120 pounds. It also comes with a pair of 12-volt batteries, a charger, and tools and is backed by a 90-day warranty.

The buyer and rider of the E100 scooter are responsible for knowing and obeying all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the riding and use of scooters.
