Now that it is on and we have test driven it, we like how he fits in it, and we feel comfortable with the safety it provides. It is nice, but not exceptional.
But getting the seat on....
Suffice to say that, as best as we can determine, this Child Carrier is made to attach to a road bike and not a hybrid bike, like ours (a Trek 7000). Our frame is thicker than that of a road bike, so attaching the seat to the rear fork was just barely possible with the hardware supplied. It was possible, but squeezing the brackets around the fork so that they were close enough for us to even begin tightening the nut took a lot of muscle! We also had the same problem as another reviewer, in that our bike has a quick-release seat, and does not have the kind of seat post bolt that the seat needs to be attached. We were able to remedy that by removing the quick-release mechanism, going to the local hardware store to purchase a 1/4-inch hex bolt (which fit in our bike's seat bracket), and using that instead of the provided 8 mm Hex Bold.
At one point in our construction of the Child Carrier, we got particularly frustrated, and tried to find some customer support. There was a 1-800 number, which was closed on the weekend, and absolutely zero on-line support. I have gotten used to having some sort of on-line resources available to me, even if it is only a copy of the owner's manual, so the absolute lack of *anything* was very frustrating. (There is plenty of information for Bell bicycle helmets, but nothing for the child carrier.)
So bottom line, if you have a hybrid bicycle (or, heaven forbid, a mountain bike), be aware that it might not assemble as easily as it should, and you may need to make an extra run to the hardware store!』

(More than I expected) 『This seat was easy enough for my wife to install properly the first time by herself. My son's feet fit fine in the stirrups and he feels safe when we ride. The seat is very sturdy and I'm still trying figure out what one of the other reviewers was referring to when they said that this seat wasn't safe (I think they probably installed it incorrectly). You really can't go wrong with this seat and the price is likely the best you'll find. The only thing that might bother someone is that the safety bar of the seat might touch your bottom; but it really doesn't inhibit me from being comfortable or pedaling.』

It seems to hold my 2 1/2 year old, he's 31 lbs and 37 inches. I think the foot hold is a little shallow, my son's feet keep slipping out. One side of the seat belt strap was very hard to put through. Otherwise, its good for occasional use and get the little one used to riding.』

I used Mineral Spirits to clean about 16-24 bearings, and they all we're really dirty&clogged up... couple this thing with the mineral spirits to clean they bearings, a can of air to spray it with after... and a couple drops of bones speed cream, your bearings will have hella spin.』

Out of the box the steering column wouldn't turn freely and made this hard to ride. Called Razor "customer service" and was told - after 3 tries - that it was the headset that was over-tight and that I should loosen it with a headset wrench. Implied visit to the bike shop to get it loosened. That solved, it turned out that the rear fender brake rattled and rattled, as did the handlebars, and possibly where the deck meets the front wheel hinge. Even on smooth pavement. After about a week of use, my son was so fed up with the annoying rattling that he pretty much gave up on this. Am returning and would not recommend. Seeing how happy other people have been, we may have gotten a lemon, with some assembly issues at the factory, but would not risk it again.』

(Heavier, more solid scooter for bigger people) 『I bought this model of Razor to keep up with my kids. They have the standard original "A" models, which are low to the ground and relatively light in overall weight. The cruiser is heavier (maybe by @30%) and higher off the ground than the original. The larger wheels give it a somewhat smoother ride (although this could be attributed to it's spanking-new wheels). The deck is covered entirely with an anti-skid layer -- which is nice. Unlike other reviewers, I have no problem with it's "low" handlebars (and I'm 5' 11"). Plus, the deck board is "warped" by design, I assume, so that when you step on it, it flexes to a nearly-flat surface. Otherwise the deck would sag if it started in a perfectly horizontal position. It was easy to put together, as all I had to attach was one wheel and to slide the handlebars into the fork that holds the front wheel. The handlebars stuck, so I called support. They told me that it was a common problem and to use a lubricant. I hosed it down with a WD-40. That did the trick. In other reviews, I kept reading that the t-bar that does the pumping was hard to push. I sprayed the chain with cycle chain lube. No problems. While going up hills is not particularly easy, I can get going pretty fast on level asphalt. The scooter turns on a dime. And it's fun for this "kid-with-experience."』
(Defective but fixable) 『I orderd this scooter for my 10 year old daughter as a Christmas gift from my parents. It arrived at their house and they could not assemble it because the front fork was bent so much the tire could not be attached. My husband had to make a special trip to their house (an hour away) to repair the scooter and finish assembling it. My daughter was happy with it for a week or two after Christmas, but now has gone back to riding her old scooter. She says it is too hard to kick the pump and that it doesn't go fast enough. The kick pump gets in the way when she tries to ride it like a regular scooter. It's a lot of work to ride and you need to keep switching legs often.』
