(X-Cellent X-Wing) 『What a great X-Wing model from Lego. Very nice design. Looks good at all angles. Fun to play with, a sturdy model and of course, the wings open to the X-Wing attack position!
PRO's - Design, opening hatch for cockpit, compartment for R2-D2, front retractable landing gear, alternate wing details to identify either Luke Skywalker or Wedge Antilles, hatch/compartment underneath to hold a lightsaber and any other hand weapon (I'd say you could hold 2-3 guns w/the lightsaber), hatch to the rear that opens to see a moving gear when you open and close the X-Wings...and finally the best 'pro' on this set...a wheel/gear in the back that cleaverly opens and closes the wings. Looks great in the X-Wing position. Also you get 5 mini-figures(Luke, Wedge, Leia, Han and Chewbacca).
CON's - Not much, but it would've been nice to have guns for all the mini-figures. Only weapon is Luke's lightsaber. Also, there are 4 small lights to the front of wings. They can fall off. Wish it had a tighter bond, but all the con's are small quibbles. This is a great model. An excellent addition to any Lego collection and lot's of fun to play with. Great for a 6 year old on up! Highly Recommended.
PLEASE NOTE: I've noticed overall on Amazon the prices for Lego models. Some are completely outrageous, while others are slightly above a fair price. I suggest especially to parents to go to the Lego dot com web site and you can find these models at the fair retail price. Also check eBay as well. Do some comparative shopping before you jump at the first Amazon price.
FINAL NOTE: On some of my reviews I'll state that certain Lego models are sturdy or great to play with. What I mean (again directed at parents too), is when you build Lego's, make sure while your building to double check the bond between the bricks. Press and squeeze so you see that the pieces are flush together. Do this throughout the build. It'll help with the bonding of the parts and also, while playing some separation can occur...again, double check, and tighten as you play. Finally, when playing see where there's good spots to hold the model in your child's hand so he can play and be assured it won't come apart easily. (When is someone going to make a durable action figure?!!!) 『This was a Christmas gift for my six year old son. Today, the day after Christmas Indy's foot has broken off. As with all action figure I get for him, they are not durable. I'm in my 40's, we used to play with GI Joes in my neighborhood. We would drop them from trees,roll them down hills,and things like that. They endured it all. You could pull his head off or his leg off. They were made with a ball and socket, and you could stick them back in. Now, all these action figures joints are made with hard plastic and the movable limbs simply break off if they are played with. Is this made to be played with or is supposed to be on display as a collectors item? I love the whip action and sound effects but if it's going to be played with, think twice. The price is a bit high for something that is going to break. My kid was simply having the figure run across the table when the foot broke off. Give me the old GI Joes any day!!!!』

(FINALLY! BIG INDY!) 『I remember the 12 inch Indiana Jones doll back in 1981 that was out for about a week, it seemed anyway. It was imposable to find then and I have been waiting for it for years! (Because I wouldn't pay the ridiculous price for it as time went by). Now with the new movie coming out, thank GOD, here come the Indy figures and dolls! (As nerdy as that sounds). I chose this one over the talking Indy simply because it looks more like Indiana than the other does. It isn't the old 81 doll I remember as a kid but it'll do, for now. The detail is nice as are the accessories. Unfortunately it has "whip cracking action" which means if you move a lever on his back his arm moves the whip up and down. Does anyone at Hasbro have the slightest clue how useless this feature is? (A transformer that doesn't) 『My son had been asking for this for months...so we finally got it for his birthday. Little did I know that this model doesn't actually change from robot into anything. Instead, it just articulates a bit and makes noise. The first thing my son asks me to do is change it into a car and I had to explain that this one doesn't actually change into a car - oops! Too bad that wasn't clear from the description (silly me for thinking a Transformer would, well, TRANSFORM!). My son still likes the toy because it's colorful and noisy, but it's clearly a let-down that he can't make it into a car.』
