(afraid the movie won't play)
『I'm going to order this on Amazon, because I'm sending my Netflix copy back to them since 30 minutes into the movie it's impossible to watch. It stops, puts out digital squares and finally covers itself in green digital colors. My only worry is that like reviewer Gerald Hopkins said his doesn't play that mine won't play either.

Netflix once told me the studios increase their security on the DVDs and they think thats what causes so many movies to become unwatchable. Cleaning them makes no difference. I've found almost all the new Disney movies I rent don't work.

I saw Hocus Pocus at the movies when it first was released and have also seen it on tv. I think its a very cute movie and I love Bette Midler in it.』

(Hocus Pocus)
『Purchased this for a Halloween "Family" movie night for a group of volunteers and their families. This was such a funny movie and was perfect for Halloween. Can't believe Sarah Jessica Parker was in it! Not to scary for the young ones but us oldies enjoyed it also. Can't go wrong with Disney.』

(Hocus Pocus)
『Very happy with my purchase and how fast I received it! Thank you so much.』

(DVD Hocus Pocus)
『This has been a FAVORITE movie of our family since it came out.
The story is fun, the acting is great, and you can really watch it at any
time, not just for Halloween. Bette Midler is priceless in this film!』

(Funny! A great Halloweeen movie for kids of all ages.)
『This fabulous little movie is hilarious and touching. Kids of all ages will enjoy the Sanderson sisters antics and especially the talking black cat, Binx. NCIS fans will recognize Binx's human alter ego!

『You're in for a devil of a time when three outlandishly wild witches -- Bette Midler (BEACHES, BIG BUSINESS), Sarah Jessica Parker (HONEYMOON IN VEGAS), and Kathy Najimy (SISTER ACT) -- return from 17th-century Salem after they're accidentally conjured up by some unsuspecting pranksters! It's a night full of zany fun and comic chaos once the tricky 300-year-old trio sets out to cast a spell on the town and reclaim their youth -- but first they must get their act together and outwit three kids and a talking cat! Loaded with bewitching laughs, HOCUS POCUS is an outrageously wild comedy that's sure to entertain everyone!』
『This big, fat theatrical bomb has a lot going for it. There's the three leads, Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker, playing three resurrected witches who wreak havoc on Salem, Massachusetts, 300 hundred years after they were hung. There's music, special effects, and magic. There's a surprisingly horror-filled plot. Whoops, hold up on that last one. It's probably the extremes that this film goes to (displaying a Disney label), such as the witches sucking the life out of a little girl in the first five minutes, that put the brakes on any success forHocus Pocus. Older children, however, in the 8 and up range should get a kick out of all the weird goings-on. It's a good measure of Halloween thrills and chills.--Keith Simanton

(Interview with the vampire)
『I love this movie and it was in terrific shape. I am a good fan of Anne rices books.』

(Great movie but iffy picture quality in some spots)
『Interview With the Vampire is a great vampire film. It is based on the Anne Rice novel of the same title. It begins in modern day San Francisco when a reporter interviews a man who claims to be a vampire. Then the vampire begins to tell his story. Overall the film has a great plot I will not venture further into it for those who have not seen it. I would rate the film a 4.5/5 the picture quality 4/5 and audio a 4/5 overall this is a great purchase especially considering how great of a price it is at you can't go wrong.』

(scary , hilarious , thrilling , empty as a joel olsteen seminar)
『revisting this highly campy , homoerotic , wickedly decadent , lusciously lensed film revealed its' status as the funniest film of 1994 . it's a lot of dated fun with many belly laughs in the miraculously theatrical performances of all involved . we all have DAVID GEFFEN to thank for championing this expertly directed (by NEIL JORDAN) film . the hilarious script is only amplified by copious use of subtitles provided (and needed) when it comes to ANTONIO BANDERAS (nice hair wig by the way) . a huge thank you to ANNE RICE for adapting her own book and keeping it NATIONAL LAMPOON worthy . reverence of special features is priceless .』

(Interview with the Vampire)
『The DVD movie arrived in a timely manner and was in excellent condition.
I have played it and it has no skips or scratches. I am pleased.
Thank you.』

(See this movie)
『A great Vampire story-Great time periods, cast/characters-perfect, visuals-awesome, this is also a movie you can watch more than once or twice. I would say 15 and older. Not gory, just really cool movie.』
『The undead are among us and livelier than ever when Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and a talented group of young-bloods star in Interview with the Vampire, the spellbinding screen adaptation of Anne Rice's best seller that's "one the best films of the year" (Caryn James, The New York Times). Award-winning box-office favorite Cruise stylishly plays the supremely evil and charismatic vampire Lestat. Pitt is Louis, lured by Lestat into the immortality of the damned, then tormented by an unalterable fact of vampire life: to survive, he must kill. Stephen Rea, Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater and newcomer Kirsten Dunst also star. One lifetime alone offers plenty of opportunities for the savage revelries of the night. Imagine what an eternity can bring. Hypnotically directed by Neil Jordan (The Crying Game), Interview with the Vampire offers enough thrills, shocks and fiendish fun to last a lifetime...and beyond.』
『When it was announced that Tom Cruise would play the vampire Lestat in this adaptation of Anne Rice's bestselling novel, even Rice chimed in with a highly publicized objection. The author wisely and justifiably recanted her negative opinion when she saw Cruise's excellent performance, which perceptively addresses the pain and chronic melancholy that plagues anyone cursed with immortal bloodlust. Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst are equally good at maintaining the dark and brooding tone of Rice's novel. And in this rare mainstream project for a major studio, director Neil Jordan compensates for a lumbering plot by honoring the literate, Romantic qualities of Rice's screenplay. Considered a disappointment while being embraced by Rice's loyal followers, the movie is too slow to be a satisfying thriller, but it is definitely one of the most lavish, intelligent horror films ever made.--Jeff Shannon

(Moonlight DVD series)
『I received my dvd quick and in good condition. Love the Moonlight series.
M.D.』

(Romantic and engaging vampire series)
『It's unfortunate that the vampire series "Moonlight" only had a one-season run. This is actually quite an engaging and interesting tv series and is one of my favorites (the others being "Forever Knight", "Angel", and "True Blood"). Alex O'Loughlin plays Mick St. John, a PI based in LA who has been living as a vampire for the past 50 or so years, after being turned by his vampire bride on their wedding night (Shannyn Sossamon). In the first episode, Mick is investigating some murders that appear to be vampire-related, and encounters a young reporter, Beth (Sophia Myles). Unknown to Beth, Mick was the same man who rescued her from being the victim of a vampire when she was a child. Throughout this first season, the relationship between these two progresses slowly but surely, and is one the highlights of the show. Every episode is well put-together, with credible acting and dialogue, though honestly, I did not think the stories were all that fresh (probably because I've watched way too many vampire-themed stories). But, things do take an interesting turn when Coraline, Mick's vampire bride (whom he had believed dead) returns as Morgan, and possesses new knowledge that may have the potential to make Mick human again. This DVD set has a total running time of 692 minutes (16 episodes in all) on 4 discs. Unfortunately, there are no extras (I'm guessing this is because it was a one season series). I'd recommend this series to those who are fans of vampire-themed series/stories.』

(VAMPIRES ARE NOT ROMANTIC!!!)
『If you're not familiar with Moonlight, you're not alone. The short-lived CBS series ran for only 16 episodes before being canceled in 2008. The show centers on the activities of L.A. private investigator, Mick St. John (Alex O' Laughlin) who also happens to be a vampire. He's usually joined in his investigations by Beth Turner, a reporter for an Internet tabloid news show called "Buzz Wire". Mick's best friend is Josef Kostan, a wealthy businessman and centuries old vampire.

Moonlight does away with a lot of popular vampire mythology. Vampires can go about during the day although the sun irritates them; hence Mick is normally wearing sunglasses outside. Stakes through the heart and silver do not kill them but paralyze them. Only beheading or fire can completely kill the vampire. Holy water, crosses, and garlic are all useless. The vampires don't sleep in coffins but rather in chilled compartments.

The show kicked off with the episode "No Such Things as Vampires", introducing all the main characters. Mick is a reluctant vampire at best, living on retail blood from blood banks as opposed to feeding on humans. Despite being a vampire for over fifty years he still longs to be human. Mick and Beth have an immediate connection in more ways than one. Early on its revealed that when Beth was just a little girl, Mick rescued her from his wife Coraline. It was Coraline who turned Mick into a vampire on their wedding night.

The scripts in Moonlight were often woefully mundane. One episode has Mick tracking a vampire who was turned as a teenager. Pimply-faced and nerdish, this vamp is out killing call girls. In other episodes Mick is hired to protect a young actress from aggressive Paparazzi, and try to find a vampire who has gone rogue, feeding indiscriminately and threatening to expose L,A.'s vampire community.

The problem with Moonlight is that shows like "Forever Knight" and "Angel" have already beaten them to the vampire detective idea and they did it far better. Alex O' Laughlin is a good-looking guy and he almost certainly brought in the female viewers, but he just wasn't that interesting of a character. The romantic tensions between he and Beth seemed clumsy and forced. There were also wild inconsistencies in the show. In one episode, Mick is walking through an office building and dodging the sun's rays as they shine through the windows...and yet in another episode, he's walking along a beach boardwalk on a bright, sunny day and putting his hand over his eyes for shade!

The show did manage to hit a few high points. In the episode "Love Lasts Forever", Beth's boyfriend, an Assistant DA, is kidnapped and shot by thugs of a ruthless drug dealer. Beth pleads with Mick to turn him into a vampire to save him and Mick is left with a decision that will have implications throughout the rest of the series. Unfortunately, there were just not enough episodes like this to keep the show from cancellation.

Moonlight was not even allowed the courtesy of bowing out gracefully as the show ended on a sour note with Mick investigating the death of a local basketball star who was having an affair with one of the city's well known vampires.

One positive throughout the series' run was Jason Dohring as the wealthy and wisecracking Josef. He breathed life into the show every time he was in a scene. Ultimately, the show failed due to a lack of originality and uninspired writing.

(Fantastic)
『Great season I can't beleive they didn't continue this season. The series on dvd is not that great there are no special features. I think CBS has lost it I would prefer this show over ghost whisper or numbers. This is a fantastic vampire series. I would say the twilight series and monnlight are neck and neck.
Alex oloughlin is so beyond handsom and jason dohring.』

(Onetrace with the Star she loves Alex O'Loughlin aka: Mick St.John)
『Onetrace with the Star she loves! Go Alex O'Loughlin this was a wonderful gift to my self. Would not trade it for the world.I have been blessed to become a friend to you. While yet my sincerity about your work is total honesty. Alex while I will for ever love MoonLight and pray that somehow they will amend by coming back with more series of MoonLight. I also love the new series of ThreeRivers. And keeping Amazon on hand to purchase it as soon as it is for sale. Got to love it! Your friend Trace!』
『Any private eye knows a lot about other people's secrets. L.A. private eye Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin) has a secret of his own. He’s a vampire, dwelling in a covert netherworld complicated by friendship with an undead finance honcho (Jason Dohring), memories of the alluring ex- wife (Shannyn Sossamon) who turned him into a vampire, and a relationship with a human (Sophia Myles) he feels drawn to protect – and maybe to love. But no matter how tempting, Mick knows a vampire-human romance is eternally dangerous. This 16-episode, 4-disc set of the series voted the 2008 People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama is a sure entertainment bet for all who like their vampire stories sleek, intense and passionate.』
『A thoroughly entertaining series that lasted just one season,Moonlighttells the story of a sexy vampire who wants to do good. (Think along the lines of Angel from the Joss Whedon series of the same name.) Mick (Alex O'Loughlin,August Rush) became a vampire in the 1950s when his beautiful vamp bride Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon,A Knight's Tale) created his new incarnation. Shunning that lifestyle and turning against his wife when she attempts to add a little girl to their family, Mick creates a new identity for himself as a private detective. The job has its perks. Mick, who normally shuns fresh human blood, doesn't feel as badly partaking from the fluids of a criminal. Though Coraline would actually make a more intriguing ongoing love interest for Mick, he falls in love with Beth (Sophia Myles,Underworld). The two have a history together, too, though Beth doesn't remember it right away (Mick saved her from Coraline some 20 years ago); now, they're working together. O'Loughin and Myles make a handsome couple, but they don't share the type of chemistry that makes his scenes with Sossamon so intoxicating.Moonlightoriginally aired on CBS during the 2007-2008 television season. The season was truncated to just 16 episodes due to the Writers Guild Strike. Because of that, the series at times feels unresolved--especially in the finale. ButMoonlightis well-crafted and has beautiful production value. Mick at times utters groaners like,“Being a vampire sucks,” but the Aussie actor makes it work. The series in some ways is debating the age-old question of whether eternal life is a blessing or a curse. The answer depends on who--or what--you are.--Jae-Ha Kim

(Silly and Over-the-top)
『On Rotten Tomatoes, this movie got around a 92% fresh - which means that it's classified as a "good movie." I usually trust the critics, and decided to go see it. I'm still in shock to the fact that i can't get my money or two hours of my life back for this terrible movie.
Now, I understand that it was categorized as a "black comedy"...but there was nothing funny or even remotely "cool" about it. The CGI animation was terrible, and looked like a cheap video game. The acting was bad, and the slapstick material came off as forced and didn't even crack a smile out of me. The storyline was really weak too - I knew right from the beginning what was going to happen to her. Don't forget about the gross-out scenes; there were plenty of those, and if you like snot and saliva, you'll really enjoy this one.
No more Sam Raimi movies for me.』

(It's About Time!)
『Finally, a horror movie worth a review. This story is original for the most part. It has great special effects. The acting is way above par, and it made me jump a time or two.
The story is about a woman who is struggling to be someone she really isn't. She must act refined and well educated around her boyfriend's parents to "fit in". She also must be all business-like and uncaring to a degree, in her job at a bank, to try an get a promotion. During this time, an old gypsy woman goes to her for help. She needs a loan extension, but unfortunately is refused, and that is when all "hell" breaks loose. A curse is put on our lead character and the main story begins...The action hardly ever lets up and the ending is awesome!
Sam Raimi did an excellent job with this and I would have to say it is my favorite of his to date! I would highly recommend this movie.』

(Better than Expected)
『Great movie. I was not expecting much, thus I was really shocked during the car fight with the Gyspy woman from the bank. Goodness! The rest of the movie was also entertaining, right up to the very end too.』

(Pretty Bad)
『It started off fun and scary and then got worse. When the goat started talking I was like really?? OK I hate this movie.』

(Not as good as I had hoped)
『I love good horror films. This was one is just OK. Special effects seem a bit heavy handed and cheesy.
Story is good but wanders and I never really cared what happened to the main characters. Some good shock moments and all-in-all fun to watch. Just not what I thought it would be.』

『Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is on her way to having it all: a devoted boyfriend (Justin Long), a hard-earned job promotion, and a bright future. But when she’s forced to make a tough decision that evicts an elderly woman from her house, Christine becomes the victim of an evil curse. Now she has only three days to dissuade a dark spirit from stealing her soul before she is dragged to hell for an eternity of unthinkable torment. Director Sam Raimi (Spider-Man and The Evil Dead Trilogy) returns to the horror genre with a vengeance in the film that critics rave is “the most crazy, fun and terrifying horror movie in years!” (Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly)』
『Touted as a return to Sam Raimi's horror-movie roots,Drag Me to Hellis indeed closer in spirit to the director'sEvil Deadpictures than to hisSpider-Manfilms. You got your gypsy gargoyles with rotted dentures, your upchucking corpses, your flexible two-way orifices--yes, Raimi's definitely back in the saddle. There's even a story: a sad loan officer (Alison Lohman) turns down the aforementioned denture-wearing gypsy for a loan extension, which leads to an evil curse and a date in hell in three days' time. A séance, an animal sacrifice, and a session in a storm-tossed graveyard will make the 72 hours pass very nervously, thank you, along with assorted scares. Justin Long plays Lohman's upper-class boyfriend, and Raimi fills the rest of the cast with some unusual and unfamiliar types. Along with the giddy horror-comedy that bursts out of the movie every 10 minutes or so, there's also an underlying mood of pity: Lohman's character is something of a hard-luck sad sack, who does enough wrong things to make her seem like a truly abject individual, well outside the heroic model of most multiplex offerings. (Lohman's own little-girl-lost quality adds to this feeling.) But don't let that get in the way of the fun-ride aspects of this goofy enterprise:Drag Me to Hellis a bunch of Z-movie gags wrapped in top-drawer production values.--Robert Horton

(True BLood)
『The best thing on TV.
Hands down my favorite Vampire,TV,or movie series.
Has us sitting at the hedge of our seat, dying for more.
Hate waiting a week for next show.
Jason, what a little hottie, Eric, where in the hell, did he came from,Anna what a Star.』

(True Blood is one of the Top Five Shows on all of T.V.)
『Okay so 1st off, everyone who has been complaining about the sex scenes and that its not appropriate for teenagers...reality check here...the show is rated MATURE for a reason, IT ISNT APPROPRIATE FOR KIDS!! Its definitely a very adult show, and before every episode it has the appropriate warnings, such as Nudity, Violence, etc. Everyone gets fair warning, so i dont get why people are surprised or shocked by it...the only T.V. shows rated Mature are the ones with lots of sex and violence...Deal with it!! Definitely not a show for prudish types, but if you're not, this show has EVERYTHING...mystery, romance, suspense, action, and plenty of drama. It is completely addictive. Just watch and you'll see.』

(Truly obsessed!)
『Have to say that I wasn't sure at first I would like the series and I was hooked after the first episode! Rented them at first and determined I had to have the whole series . . . including preordering the 2nd series. I wish that would come out soon! I did start reading the books while I have been waiting . . . different parts to the book than the series so it was a nice change.』

『awesome DVD! Very addicting series... One of the best shows on television!
Amazon offers good pricing as well as fast delivery.』

(Enchantment in Louisiana)
『Having never seen even one "True Blood" episode, I found Anna Paquin's portrail of Sookie Stackhouse to be so enchanting, and the tales so compelling, I watched the entire First Season over one weekend!

One caution: some shows have nudity in them, so these may not be appropriate for all ages. I suggest Parental pre-screening.』

『TRUE BLOOD chronicles the backwoods Louisiana town of Bon Temps... where vampires have emerged from the coffin, and no longer need humans for their fix. Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin, Golden Globe(R)-winner for "True Blood", Academy Award®-winner for “The Piano”) works as a waitress at the rural bar Merlotte's. Though outwardly a typical young woman, she keeps a dangerous secret: she has the ability to hear the thoughts of others. Her situation is further complicated when the bar gets its first vampire patron - 173-year old Bill Compton (Steven Moyer, "Quills") - and the two outsiders are immediately drawn to each other. Delivering the best of what audiences have come to expect from Creator and Executive Producer Alan Ball (writer of Oscar®-winning Best Picture “American Beauty”, creator of the Emmy® Award-winning HBO® series “Six Feet Under”), TRUE BLOOD is a dark and sexy tale that boldly delves into the heart - and the neck - of the Deep South.

『Alan Ball’sTrue Bloodseries works well for television, as it has enough sensationalism to tantalize and enough story girth to make the viewer care about the characters. That one can finally invest emotion into monsters, including an undead Civil War victim, a transformer who can shapeshift into various animals, and a female mind reader, speaks volumes about America’s willingness to accept fantasy. Of course, television has always produced good fantasy shows (I Dream of Jeannie), butTrue Blood’sSouthern Goth brand of fun horror is more macabre and more perverse, not to mention gorier, than most shows of its kind to date. Adapted from Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels,True Bloodthrills because of its equal blend in each episode of erotica, humor, tragedy, mystery, and fantasy.

Set in a rural, swampy Louisiana parrish, the show centers around Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and her clan, sweet grandmother Adele (Lois Smith) and air-headed brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten). Illicit love is spawned early on, when Sookie saves vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) from having his blood stolen in the parking lot of Merlotte’s diner, owned by Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) who completes what will form a complex love triangle. As tensions between Sookie’s suitors loosen or tighten, many side plots, such as her African American best friend Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) struggle with an alcoholic, Bible-thumping mother and her brother’s dangerous crush on drug addicted hippie, Amy Burley (Lizzy Caplan), keep one wondering who will succeed in this podunk place. The main tension throughout, however, is a race war waged between vampires and humans. As murders of “fang bangers” occur (human girls who let vampires bitethem) and dumb policeman Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) fails to find clues, one sees the metaphorical implications of vampirism and feels deeper resonance with what can be a downright trashy show. Gossip galore, especially about what kinds of babies interbreeding will produce, is rampant. One of the funniest characters is Tara’s flamboyant cousin, Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), who deals drugs, works as a fry cook, and services the local white politicians, while making sure he’s always up in everyone’s business.

What makesTrue Bloodsmarter than pure soap opera is the parallels it draws between its monster mash and actual, familiar societal problems. Sookie and her friends watch the news, where Evangelicals bash vampires and prohibit mixed marriage, and everyone is addicted to V, a.k.a vampire blood, that effects like psychedelic heroin. Even its gore reflects a mix of serious and silly, as vampires explode into red, sticky goop. Though it may not be attempting to qualify for the best vampire footage ever shot,True Bloodis as addictive as that substance the town’s youth obsesses over, which is a metaphor in itself. --Trinie Dalton

(I love Twilight!)
『The movie was just as good as the book! I loved the series and I just watched "New Moon" yesterday.』

(An Honest, Neutral Review of Why "Twilight" is NOT a Good Film)
『The Twilight Saga is unavoidable in both film and book form. The books, which I've never read, were bestsellers and the recent release of "New Moon," the film is breaking records. Teenage girls are absolutely gaga for the star Robert Pattinson and it finally intrigued me enough to watch this film. I do have a slightly biased opinion as the entire premise of the film seemed ludicrous to me, but I found a glimmer of hope in the film's director Catherine Hardwicke, who was responsible for the very honest look at teenagers with the film "Thirteen."

What really surprised me about this film is that it doesn't have much of a plot. Kristen Stewart plays Isabella "Bella" Swan, who moves from Arizona to Forks, Washington to stay with her father (Billy Burke). Bella inexplicably begins school moments after arriving in Forks and discovers The Cullen's, a group of mysterious foster kids from Alaska. Even more mysterious and intriguing, to her and the rest of the student body, is Edward Cullen (Pattinson), a quiet, pale, reserved 17-year-old. Bella starts to notice the Cullen's are more than just a little different and when Edward stops a van from running her over, she realizes that he may not even be human...99% of the world knows that he's a vampire, but not a vampire of the typical, blood-sucking variety. The Cullen's are "vegetarian" vampires who only snack on the blood of animals. There's a story here, obviously but nothing really happens in it.

Almost everything here is underwritten, characters and plot included. The characterization is particularly hollow and calling the characters "characters," is inaccurate; these are names with pretty faces attached to them. We're talking about a film here with an uneventful plot and characters completely void of depth. Twilight is supposed to be a supernatural love story geared towards a teenage demographic, but where's the emotion or poignancy that a love story needs in order to work as one? It's certainly not here. The dialogue in this movie is so melodramatic, I almost felt nauseous. The conversations between Bella and Edward are particularly embarrassing to watch. This does not sound like the "Romeo&Juliet" of the 21st Century, but the banter of two prepubescent children. A quick example; "Beautiful? This is the skin of a killer, Bella."

As for the performances, no one seems to be putting any effort into them. Pattinson looks uncomfortable and his facial expressions, as well as his delivery of the film's dialogue sound pain fully forced. I do believe Hardwicke is a talented director, but she made a lot of poor creative choices here starting with her decision to direct such a poorly written script in the first place. One of her most annoying directorial decisions was her overuse of the slow-motion to illustrate the anxiety of a character. I can say only one positive thing about the film's production value and that is the somber, gray color palette utilized by the film's cinematographer...It could've been really effective if the tone of the overall film had been altered. Anyone who doesn't agree with what I'm saying about the film's poor quality need look no further than the baseball scene. How horribly executed can a scene be? The acting, the dialogue, the choice of music, Pattinson's snarl, and the cinematography are so bad it's embarrassing. Finally, this scene has no relevance to the plot of the film. It's muddled, meandering filler slipped into the film as an excuse to bring the character's to a different conflict in the story. If I was not aware of the inescapable Twilight frenzy, I would swear this film was a direct-to-DVD release; no one with a knowledge or appreciation of American cinema would call Twilight a good movie.

Quite frankly, watching Twilight was like watching a high-school play written by a socially inept teenager. Obviously, my opinion isn't going to affect the success of the series. Twilight is one of those things that strikes some chord with young American audiences and has become a record-breaking smash success. I guarantee that Twilight will not remain a part of the American moviegoer's consciousness for any prolonged amount of time and just like hugely successful boy bands, this is a phase that will fade away in time.

Twilight left me shaking my head so many times in the two hours I was watching it. I was not fascinated, intrigued, or stimulated about anything going on in the film and the only way I can imagine someone being those things is if they were not educated. That last part is sarcasm, but quite honestly this is a film that people will look back on ten years from now and think "how did I possibly think that was any good."

GRADE: D』

(A total puzzle)
『Why people bought thousands of copies of the book? -- Hype.
Why someone made a movie based on it? -- A total puzzle.
There have been so many classic vampire movies starring world known actors. This one is a repeat, which just a few twists attempting to make it different (and they don't succeed, for the most part). Choosing unknown young actors is a plus, but it doesn't offset the repetitiveness of the subject.

(Awfully boring!)
『What's all the silly hype over this movie and this vampire series?!

Go read the book, if you've the time to spare.
Go watch "Blade" if you want to see fast-paced vampire action.
Go watch re-runs of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" if you have to.
Anything but this silly Twilight-vampire BS romance movie/series!

I had resisted watching this movie when it first hit cinema screens knowing that the hype was all misplaced. My suspicions were right when I got to watch it yesterday: it sucked! What's all the zoom-in close-ups of the lead actor and actress? Whatever hyped up expectations of the marketing agencies, I guess they must have made misplaced fantasies come true for this movie.

For those of you who have yet to watch this Part 1 of the "saga", it's about a lonely teenage girl who moves into a small town where she meets a lonely teenage male vampire. The kind of fantasy that most female fantasy writers like to muse over when they have too much to escape from in everyday mundane reality of our modern world. Guys, if you want to know how dirty minded women are, just read all their trashy "romance" novels and their "fantasy" novels.

In this movie, a lonely human girl falls in love with a male vampire who turns out somewhat to be a "vegetarian" vampire and can't resist the girl. Male saves female from accident, introduces her to his vampire family. Other more blood thristy competiting vampires, one in particular, sniffs her out and hunts her down. Protective vampire male tries to save human female again, and finds her in time. His family members appear and take care of the attacking blood-thirsty vampire. Case closed, or so we may think. Yada, yada, yada, you know how these fantasy tales end. If you're an avid reader of fantasy novels, they all have the same theme and similar sounding escapades. Nothing new or spectacular, very predictable genre.

If not the seemingly humble Kristen Stewart, this movie doesn't even deserve a single star rating! Sorry, Kristen, you fared better in "The Messengers". If you want to explore your dark side, come chat with me, not with this Robert guy.

Viewers! If I can think of a good romance fantasy movie involving vampires and stuff, I'll let you know! Do you guys like foreign language movies? I don't think you can find them on Amazon.com.

(Two stars only because it's like a train wreck you can't turn away from...)
『I went to see this movie with my X-GF and she warned me about all the hubbub with the books, the teen crowd and the fact this was not like a regular vampire story. I recall she mentioned something about this being love story first. First off I will watch most any vampire flick, the more action, blood and gore the better.

This is not even a vampire movie at all, just a sappy teen romance flick about two characters that clearly can't seem to breathe without each other. Although, as a capitalist I will have to give props to the author of these books, as she (these books HAVE to have been created and written by a woman) clearly found a huge female teen audience. That being said, it's amazing how you can dangle trash like this in front of kids and they come running to it like moths to a flame.

When I saw this movie and watched the way the two primary characters looked at each other I could not figure out what the deal was. The leading man looked like he had just eaten bad sushi or something and the way the leading lady looked at the guy was nearly as bad. She looked at him like he was last cheeseburger she was going to get the chance to inhale before she took a forced 100 year journey into deep outer space.

So I patiently waited for some fangs, blood, violence or anything that was remotely interesting and juicy but nothing really happened except the two lead actors perpetually looking at and longing for each other (described in the prior paragraph). I almost forgot to mention that there theater was fully loaded with teenage girls who just kept saying things like "there he is" and "om my god he is so beautiful" and "I can't believe how perfect he is" etc...

I gave this movie two stars only for the reason that the experience in going to the movies to see this kooky flick with a bunch of teeny bopping 'Twilighters' just made me appreciate my home vampire movie collection that much more. This movie is good for two things: 1) Watching this will surely remind real vampire movie fans how thankful they are that movies like Horror of Dracula, Blade, Underworld etc... actually got made. I could see how this trash could absolutely supplant real vampire movies just by the sheer box office sensation this whole Twilight craze created. 2) Any bad DVD can serve as a coaster in a pinch.

As for me, I could pick out my 10th favorite Hammer vampire flick made 40 years ago and know that it is a million times better than Twilight.』

『Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) doesn’t expect much when she moves to the small town of Forks, Washington, until she meets the mysterious and handsome Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson)—a boy who’s hiding a dark secret: he’s a vampire. As their worlds and hearts collide, Edward must battle the bloodlust raging inside him as wellas a coterie of undead that would make Bella their prey. Based on the #1 New York Times best-selling sensation by Stephenie Meyer, Twilight adds a dangerous twist to the classic story of star-crossed lovers.

『The big-screen adaptation ofTwilight, Stephenie Meyer's bestselling vampire romance, is aimed squarely at its key demographic: teen girls whose idea of Prince Charming is a brooding, pale, undead teen who could kill you instantly at any moment. Such a prince is more fascinating than frightening to new girl Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), who moves to the rainy-gray town of Forks, Wash., to live with her dad (Billy Burke), the local sheriff who's puzzled by a series of "animal attacks." On her first day at school, Bella appears to (visibly) nauseate her lab partner, Edward (Robert Pattinson). Turns out the scent of her blood is this vampire's "brand of heroin," and his struggle not to kill her causes an irresistible pull toward her. Whether he's attracted for the normal reasons or because she smells especially sweet to him is vague in the book and even less clear on-screen; nonetheless, Bella falls hopelessly in love with Edward, which sets her on a dangerous path when a few nomad vampires show up in town, one particularly keen on tracking the human. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen),Twilightis full of funny moments--not all of which are intentional--and the casting, from Stewart to Bella's self-absorbed friend Jessica (Anna Kendrick) is spot-on. The weakest link, unfortunately, is Pattinson. While he certainly looks the part, his Edward could have used an extra injection of testosterone (Pattinson, who is British, used James Dean as a model for his American accent). In scenes where he growls about the temptation to kill those who would harm Bella, or flitting around a forest warning her how dangerous he is, he comes off more like a whimpering puppy than a debonair monster. The good news is, his chemistry with Stewart (particularly in their big kissing scene) is palpable, which, let's face it, is really what matters toTwilightfans most. --Ellen A. Kim

On the DVD
The special features forTwilightkick off with an audio commentary with director Catherine Hardwicke and stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. There's some mumbling and groaning from Stewart (one gets the impression that Stewart is quite similar to her reserved character in the film), some standard behind-the-scenes observations from Hardwicke, and a lot of awkward self-deprecating remarks from Pattinson (of their big kiss, he opines: "This is quite difficult 'cause I have a really flat head, and so it's quite difficult to get a correct angle."). What's funny is Pattinson stumping Hardwicke with some basic plot questions, like "Why doesn't James just kill [Bella when she's packing at her house]?" While Hardwicke and Stewart attempt to answer, Pattinson doesn't appear satisfied. The deleted and extended scenes include an additional dream-sequence kiss (rightly cut because it took away from the buildup to their first kiss) and more footage of Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre). The seven-part documentary is a pretty thorough look at the development of the film, including stunts, special effects, and the involvement of author Stephenie Meyer. Another featurette looks at the Comic-Con frenzy; however, it spends no time on how the actors were cast, which would have been fun for fans who did all their own mental casting while reading the books. Also included: three music videos and trailers. --Ellen A. Kim

(Season one. the story begins.)
『The first season of Supernatural, is a "must-see" part of popular culture. Anyone who likes comedy, drama and a good old fasion scare, will love supernatural. Sam and Dean are looking for their father, and soon discover what really happened during their childhood, Who killed their mother!?
In every episode Sam and Dean must fight a new creature of the night, to make the world a safer place. And the dark and scary mood of the first season is a work of art. The episodes vary quite a bit, in one episode there is a lot of brother drama, in another you will laugh so hard, but what they all have in common is the fact that you will be watching them with the doors locked and the light on. They give you the good old scare!』

(Fantastic and original TV series)
『What caught my attention about this series was the relationship between the two brothers, who are protecting people while looking for their Mom's killer and their missing Dad. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are incredible as brothers Sam and Dean with Jefferey Dean Morgan playing their father John...the subtle play of emotions between the three is well done-I'm convinced their father and sons. The fact that what is being hunted are monsters based upon Urban Legends and Folklore is a bonus for me-I can't get enough of these stories! My favorite episodes are the ones with Meg Masters...Nicki Aycox is so scary good playing this character...and she gives the Winchesters a run for their money (actually lives).』

(What a great show)
『This show is fun to watch. I never knew either actor in the show, but by end of the season I love both of them. I will be buying the rest of the seasons.』

(supernatural season 1)
『I bought this as a present for my daughter. She loves it. I thought it was a great value. We watch it on tv every week and really enjoy the show. So I thought it would be a wonderful addition to our dvd collection. I would however keep it as a show for older children. Some of the "demons and monsters" can be scary for little ones.』

(Scary, Funny AND has a Storyline?! Perfect!)
『This show brings to television all the creepies and crawlies and man-eating beasties that we all love and deny we fear. It also tosses in some great laughs. What's not to love?

The series starts by introducing a little back story for the Winchester brothers, Dean and Sam, respectively. Then it takes you to present day Sam, the baby of the family, now in college. Then in walks Dean, the classic overprotective, jerk big brother. The first season of the show is about the brothers setting out to find their Dad who has disappeared on a "hunting" trip and the creepy things they encounter on their search.

The dynamic between the two brothers is hilarious and can at times only be called a Bromance. With Dean plaguing "Sammy" constantly then turning around and risking his life for him. This creates an almost sentimental backdrop for a show that oozes horror and/or gore at every turn.

If you like horror, action, suspense, comedy, Bromances, or anything else for that matter, you'll want to check out this show. It's a show that everyone (except maybe the younger kids) can watch.

Guys, girls, parents, grandparents, anyone can watch this show and love it!』

『Bound by tragedy and blood to a dangerous, otherworldly mission, two brothers travel in mysterious back roads of the country in their '67 Chevy Impala, searching for their missing father--and hunting down every evil supernatural force they encounter along the way. Bring home all 22 episodes of the first season of the thrilling new show, Supernatural along with must-own bonus features. Supernatural is a completely new kind of thrill ride that takes viewers on a journey into the dark world of the unexplained.

『Call itKolchak: The Night Stalker, The College YearsorBuffy the Vampire Slayer for Boys, but the horror seriesSupernaturaldelivers some of the most satisfying small-screen scares in recent memory. The premise is deceptively simple: brothers Sam and Dean (Jared Padalecki fromGilmore Girlsand Jensen Ackles, both appealing) travel the darker corners of the American landscape in search of their father, who's gone missing while hunting the malevolent forces that lead to the death of their mother. In the course of their search, the siblings encounter a host of otherworldly creatures, including vampires, ghosts, and witches, as well as such distinctly American phenomena as the urban-legend favorite the Hook ("Hookman"), monsters from Native American mythology ("Wendigo"), and fearful figures from children's games ("Bloody Mary").Supernatural's integration of elements from American pop culture and folklore, combined with its skilled cast and crew (creator/co-writer Erik Kripke delivered 2005'sBoogeyman, while director/executive producer David Nutter is a veteran ofThe X-FilesandMillennium), and better-than-average attempts at atmosphere and suspense place the series well above the other spookshow programs that arrived on networks at about the same time (Invasion,Night Stalker), and should hold considerable appeal for fans of frightful fare.

The six-disc set contains all 22 episodes of the debut season, with commentary by Ackles and Padalecki on "Phantom Traveler" and Nutter, Kripke, and producer Peter Johnson on the pilot episode; two making-of documentaries (one on the show itself, and the other on its stars), as well as a brace of unaired scenes and a gag reel round out the set. (OMG this is great)
『I stumbled upon this series a few months ago and it was like discovering Star Trek the first time. Did they make this series just for me? It has plenty to offer everyone from some great one liners and physical comedy to chilling stories that make you remember what a good old horror movie was about.

The Winchester boys, Dean (Jensen Ackles) the elder and Sam (Jared Padalecki) the younger have seen their relationship evolve and besides one lapse on the writers side to make Sam do something a lot of people what "what the hell was he thinking" I think they jabbed and joked around like only brothers could. The funniest thing is that Sam is the responsible one, and Dean who pretty much raised Sam as their father was absent has regressed into a pretty fun hedonistic character. And yet he is the one that gets allied with the Angels while Sam, the one who prayed and tried so hard to do right was the one slipping in with the demons.

Although each episode does stand on its own most time, if you really want to enjoy the series start at the beginning. If you are into this type of action adventure (horrors-que) with great brotherly interactions this is show for you.

(Most awesome show ever!)
『The fourth season of supernatural is one of the crazyest seasons yet. Sam and dean are no longer fighting just evil spirits, warewolfs and such, they are now fighting for the truth! The truth about how Dean came out of hell. Is he still Dean? And most importantly which side will they choose when heaven and hell are brought in to the mix. And sam is practising his demon.blood powers and the season is the sickest one yet!』

(Supernatural Season 4)
『I thought the first season was a little moronic and too teenage like. However, I stuck with the show and kept watching and it is greatly improved. It is a little scary, but a good bottom story about the brothers and their Dad is worth watching.』

(Too Far Afield?)
『Is this fourth season moving too far afield concentrating as it does on an approaching Armageddon and war between putative Angels and trafficking with Demons? I personally preferred the first seasons where the emphasis was on Ghostbusting although the story threads are now deeper (and I would guess offend some people).

Production values remain unchanged and it's still a good 'watch' if you're into this type of programme but i'd like to see a return of the humorous aspects evident in the earlier series.

Either way - if you enjoyed the first three series, you'll still enjoy the fourth, but maybe not as much.』

(Jump the Shark? No way!)
『I don't know how they do it but Season 4 of Supernatural is as good, if not better than the first 3. Angels, Demons, Ghostfacers...this series has genuine scares and yes, you will be shouting at the TV in despair (SAM!! - D'oh!!), but you will also be laughing too. The episode where the brothers discover a series of books have been written about them is just superb - especially the "slash" fan revelation...

Loved it, can't wait for series 5.』

『Resurrection. After enduring unspeakable torture, Dean escapes from Hell, rescued by an all-powerful creature he's never seen before– an Angel – a warrior of God who recruits Sam and Dean into Heaven's battle against Hell. And there are whispers that a certain fallen angel will soon be freed from his prison deep in Hell: Lucifer. If Sam and Dean can't stop it – if Lucifer walks free – he’ll bring on the Apocalypse. Meanwhile, the Winchester Brothers reunite and hit the road, battling the supernatural wherever they go. They encounter demons, spirits, Dracula himself and even a drunk, heavily armed 7-foot-tall teddy bear. All the while, the ultimate war draws them into its horror throughout this enthralling 6-Disc,22-Episode Season Four. Caught between Heaven and Hell, between God and the Devil, the Winchester brothers must battle for the future of humankind.』
『When a television series opens its new season with a lead character crawling out of his grave after escaping Hell itself, one cannot help but wonder: how will the rest of the episodes ever follow that? In the case ofSupernatural's fourth season, the answer comes from above with the introduction of Misha Collins's Castiel, an angel dispatched to rescue Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) from infernal torment and reunite him with brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) for a very special mission. That quest--to stop the demonic Lilith from opening the 66 seals required to bring Lucifer to Earth and launch the Apocalypse--forms the backbone of the 22 episodes, which takes some fairly adventurous risks with the core of the show. Chief among these is the rift that deepens between Dean and Sam as they attempt to work together, despite their divergent destinies; also agreeable is the season's tonal shift away from its previous Monster of the Week format (though that's still intact for many episodes) and toward a single, more ambitious story and thematic arc. The sea change deepens the show's drama, intensifies the level of suspense and stakes in each episode, and pushes it several big steps away from its teen-friendly origins. Of course, there's still plenty of the show's trademark irreverence and humor to be found, especially in the clever "Monster Movie," which pits the brothers against a Shapeshifter that takes the form of classic movie fiends, and "The Monster at the End of This Book," where Sam and Dean discover a comic book with plot lines very similar to their own lives. By the timeSupernatural's fourth season reaches its cliffhanger ending with "Lucifer Rising" (the title neatly sums up the plot), viewers should be fairly hungering for the next episode--a good sign that a veteran series is still hitting its stride.

Extras on the six-disc set include commentary for three episodes: "In the Beginning," with executive producer Eric Kripke and writer Jeremy Carver; "When the Levee Breaks," with director Robert Singer and writer Sara Gamble; and "Lucifer Rising" with Kripke. Extended scenes are also available for several episodes, and the features are rounded out by a trio of somewhat ponderous featurettes on the concepts of Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell, as depicted in scenes from the show and discussed by its writers, theologians, paranormal investigators, and the like. Clocking in between 10 and 25 minutes apiece, the docs feel padded and somewhat undernourished in the information department. However, they're unlikely to detract from one's enjoyment of this stellar season.--Paul Gaita

(Horror Classic)
『Trick r Treat is one of the best horror movies I have seen in a long time. There are many different stories in this movie and each one is awesome, this movie will end up being a cult classic and deservedly so.』

(It was okay..)
『I do not usually buy a movie when it is first released as I prefer to wait until the price drops. This movie had such great reviews that I went ahead and bought it. It's okay, not the rave that I had read. The original Halloween with Jaime Lee Curtis is much better.』

(A New Halloween Tradition)
『This film is a neat little anthology centered on Halloween in which all of the stories interweave and interconnect with each other, rather than being presented as stand-alone segments. This approach works very well. Some scenes that don't make clear sense when first viewed will be perfectly understandable when put into context the next time they are glimpsed. Vampires, boogeymen, the dangers trick-or-treaters face, and a small goblin-like creature are just some of the film's goodies. Viewers should be warned that certain themes might not be appropriate for children, especially young children. The best thing about the film is that it captures the spirit of the holiday like no film since John Carpenter's Halloween did, and around here, at least, it will be brought out every October to celebrate Halloween, a new tradition. Recommended.』

(Not that Good)
『I was really expecting more based upon all the hype about this movie. I was not impressed. I've seen better scary movies on LMN. Make sure you watch it for free, don't pay anything to rent this awful movie.』

(A lot of hype, but I can see why it was shelved)
『I first saw the preview to this movie years ago, and it mentioned an upcoming theatrical release. At the time, the trailer seemed interesting enough, I'd see it when it became a rental. After the release was pulled, I didn't get dragged into the hype, but it still stuck in my mind, "When will this movie get released?".

Well, eventually it was released. I watched the Blu-ray. I knew I was in trouble after the first 5-10 minutes. After that amount of time, it clicked, this felt like a made-for-tv movie, only with more blood. Not sure how to explain "Made-for-TV", but that's the vibe it gave off. It's a similar feeling that some "Direct-to-video" movies give off, which is what this is...

The stories, they would have been better on their own, maybe a few tie-ins here and there, but it jumps around a lot from one story to another, and there doesn't seem to be much reason for it. They don't tie together very well, and 3 of the 4 I found pretty dull. The story about the bus, while not a winner, was better than the 3 others.

Also, the first story, as it progressed, I thought back to the movie Parents. Oh, see Parents if you haven't, it's a decent film.

With Trick R Treat, don't expect much from the stories. They aren't frightening, and a bit cartoonish and predicatable. It seemed more geared towards teenagers, and I think the movie may have had a theatrical release if there were a some edits for a PG-13 rating.

Bottom line; it left me rolling my eyes, and it became very clear to me why this movie didn't get released into theatres. With the comic book featured in the opening credits, it made me think back on Creepshow. Though, after it began, I could tell this wasn't going to be as fun as Creepshow.』

『The doorbell rings, the cry goes out: Trick 'R Treat! But, wait. What's actually going on during this ghostly All Hallows Eve? Something eerie and unexpected. Something splattered and spooky. Something that brings ghouls, vampires and werewolves into the night. Answer the door– a shocking surprise awaits. From producer Bryan Singer (director of X-Men and Superman Returns) and writer-director Michael Dougherty (co-scripter of X2 and Superman Returns) comes a multitale bag of wicked yarns, four cleverly interlocked stories built on Shocktober admonitions like always check the candy and don’t extinguish the jack-o-lantern before midnight. So answer the door now: Experience horror made for today's fright fan.』
