(not as great as the first one!)

Perhaps, I shouldn't have waste my time watching this movie. I thought it would be funny based on the preview. When I went to watch this movie on Saturday, I did not find one scene funny at all. The only funny stuff in this movie was the bloopers. Overall, the movie just sucks! It wasn't that great as the first one. The first one was more funnier. The second one was good too, but this one was just not that great. It was okay and all but it just wasn't that funny. I personally think that I should have seen Borat instead of this movie. At least, I would have something to laugh about! I miss the 90s! They used to have such good movies that were much more funnier! If anyone want to see a good Christmas movie, I would recommend Home Alone 1,2, Miracle on 34th Street, and The Santa Clause 1,2.』

(Hilarious movie)
『The comedy between Tim Allen&Martin Short cannot be matched. So hilarious, great for the kids and the parents. We watch it over and over, even when it's not christmas season lol. Great movie, definitely worth the money』

(great)
『I thought it was funny and just as good as the first 2.Tim Allen props to you.You are the the best actor and you keep me laughing.』

(Used but in new condition)
『Have been wanting this DVD, but couldn't see paying top dollar for a year old movie. Found this here--and am very satisfied! Will be back!』

(Overall, very good)
『Overall this movie is very good. We bought it because we had the first two, and it didn't feel complete without the third. The ending was a little too cheesy, but for the most part it was very enjoyable and I'm glad we bought it.』
『Walt Disney Pictures presents the next hilarious holiday comedy in the hit Santa Clause movie tradition, starring Tim Allen and now featuring Martin Short as Jack Frost. This movie offers wholesome family entertainment which brings alive the joy and magic of the holiday season and is now the ultimate holiday DVD and Blu-ray Disc® to own and to give. Featuring an all-new bonus feature, Christmas Carol-Oke – a fun-for-all Christmas Caroling guide for the entire family to enjoy.』
『How about a new villain and a dash ofIt's a Wonderful Lifeto spice up the third installment of the popular Tim Allen holiday franchise? Under the onslaught of another Christmas season, Santa Claus/Scott Calvin (Allen) is feeling even more pressure because Mrs. Claus (Elizabeth Mitchell, reprising her role fromThe Santa Clause 2) is expecting a little Claus and also longing for the company of some "tall people." So Scott agrees to let her parents (Ann-Margret and Alan Arkin) visit as long as they believe that they're really in Canada rather than at the North Pole. Further complicating matters is a visit by Scott's ex-wife (Wendy Crewson), her husband (Judge Reinhold), and their daughter, Lucy (Liliana Mumy). Enter the bad boy of the Council of Legendary Figures, Jack Frost (Martin Short), who's supremely jealous of the figures who have their own holidays, especially Santa. So he launches a plan to sabotage the toy factory and compel Scott to invoke the little-known Escape Clause and wish he'd never become Santa. The resulting evocation of a classic Christmas movie,It's a Wonderful Life, is seasoned with a splash ofBack to the Futurewhen Scott rewinds 12 years (has it really been that long?) to when it all began. Though neither sequel has matched the charm of the originalSanta Clause, both have been safe, reliable family fare. (All ages: some crude humor)--David Horiuchi

((2.5 STARS) Not Terrible, Just Familiar)
『A group of people with paranormal powers fights the "Division," a government agency that attempts to use their superhuman abilities for their own military purposes. "Push" directed by Paul McGuigan ("Lucky Number Slevin") is a sci-fi action/thriller that begins with the familiar, but pretty interesting premises. You know, there are "movers" "watchers" "sniffers" and "pushers." You may think this sounds a bit like an extended episode from the TV series "Heroes." Maybe you are right. It is just "Push" needs a better story.

In "Push" Chris Evans plays Nick, a "mover" living in Hong Kong, who can move objects (not much, though, for now) without touching them. Two agents sent from the "Division" visit him, looking for a woman Kira (Camilla Belle), who recently escaped from their facilities. Nick knows nothing about her, for now. Honestly.

Then, a strange girl named Cassie (Dakota Fanning) barges into his room. Cassie is a "watcher" who can see the future (she actually draws, just like one character in "Heroes.") And Cassie warns him of the impending danger - in this case, death.

I'm not particularly against borrowing ideas from other movies, but "Push" does it so many times and, moreover, not in the smartest way. In spite of some nice ideas (like Cliff Curtis' "shifter"), "Push" is not involving as it should be. The film needs a storyline. It seems "Push" has got caught up in following the rules of the underworld and the back stories of characters. The story is there; it's just too convoluting to follow. The characters are there (and some are interesting, as I said); it seems they actually don't know what they really want to do, just like the film itself.

I am not saying "Push" is a terrible film. It has nice locations of Hong Kong and some good acting, plus decent actions. It is just I have seen the film before somewhere else, and a better one.』

(Amazing video and sound quality in Blu-ray ...)
『Push is just one more film that you can rent, but you have to rent it in Blu-ray ... one of the most natural, tridimensional video I have seen. A lot of times you feel like you are in the set !!! I use a Infocus 1080p projector in a screen of 120". It really looks fantastic !!!』

(excelent mind bending sci-fi)
『After renting the other movie with the same title by mistake I finally got to see this movie and loved it -- adding it to my collection of Fanning sisters' movies. I am always amazed how fanning sisters can take a challenging role and make it work. dakota fanning plays a sassy 13 year old teenager Cassie (who can pass as a 14 year old teenager)who has inherited her mothers gift of seeing the future (a watcher). One of many super paranormal gifted fugitives who form a network to fight back against a dark organization called Division. Division, led by Carver (Djimon Hounsou) another powerful pusher wants to use them to take over the world. Aided by a mover Nick (Chris Evans) they work together as a team to gain control of a drug that boosts their abilities and 6 million dollars and save Cassie's mother Kira (Camilla Bella) life who is also a powerful Pusher. Other super psychics join in to help in the cause to take down Division. To complicate matters a Chinese syndicate is also after the drug filled syringe. For those of you who have been to Hong Kong as I have you will love the street scenes of the Chinese merchants, boats and restaurants. The mission is accomplished through ingenious planning by Nick who fools the Chinese watcher with unpredictable decisions and another pusher who can make objects change appearances, a Chinese boatman who can make a person's memory disappear and another psychic who can block sniffers from detecting our heroes』

(Incoherent nonsense)
『"Push" plays like a cheapjack movie version of the much better "Heroes" from TV. As in that series (or the "X-Men" films, for that matter), a select group of people possess extraordinary abilities that set them apart from the rest of humanity. In this case, the people are known as Movers (those with telekinetic powers), Watchers (those who can see into the future), and Pushers (those who can force deceptive thoughts and false memories into the minds of others).

Chris Evans is the Mover, Dakota Fanning the Watcher - and together they go in search of a Pusher named Kira (Camilla Belle), who is the first such person to survive an injection given to her by a nefarious government agency to artificially pump up the "freaks"' super abilities and create an invincible army out of them in the process. Or at least that's what I THINK the movie was about because, quite frankly, if you can figure out what is going on in this film for more than five minutes at a stretch, you are a more astute observer of these things than I am. At any rate, despite her weakened condition, Kira has somehow managed to escape her captors, and thus the race is on to see whether the heroes or the villains will get to her first. I guess this gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "going after pushers."

Unfortunately, the muddled, incoherent storytelling, cardboard characters, wooden performances and ho hum action sequences make it virtually impossible for us to sustain any real interest in what is happening on screen.

And to be totally honest, only the richly filmed Hong Kong locale holds any real appeal for the viewer.』

(1 of Dakota,s best)
『This is probably one of Dakota Fanning,s best movies yet.
There was lots of action and excitment
It was gross when the chinese guys were screaming and the fish
were exploding all bloody in water. Some of movie made no sense
but most of movie was cool to watch.Again Dakota proved to me to be
excellant actress . All in all i can,t wait for part 2 if there is one
If there is one surely Dakota Fanning and Chris Evans better be in it
without them forget about it movie was excellant』

『Lucky Number Slevin director Paul McGuigan takes the helm for this action thriller concerning a group of telekinetic American ex-patriots who band together in an attempt to take down the clandestine government agency that's genetically transforming normal citizens into powerful psychic warriors. The Division is a shadowy government operation devoted to making humankind the ultimate weapon. Those who accept this transformation have the power to move objects with the mind, see the future before it happens, create new realities, and dispense of their enemies without so much as a single touch; those who are unwilling to participate are immediately terminated. Nick Gant (Chris Evans) is a mover , a second-generation telekinetic who went into hiding after the Division killed his father more than a decade earlier. He lives a life of anonymity in Hong Kong, a densely populated place where fugitive psychics such as himself are safe as long as they can keep their unique gift secret. Suddenly into Nick's life comes 13-year-old watcher Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning), a clairvoyant who needs his help in tracking down escaped pusher Kira, who may hold the key to bringing down the Division once and for all. A pusher is the most powerful kind of psychic due to their ability to influence the actions of others by planting thoughts in their minds. Now, as Nick emerges from hiding in order to help Cassie find Kira, the Division's human bloodhounds are hot on their trail. In order to elude the authorities, they'll need to disappear into the seedy underbelly of the city while relying on a team of rogue psychics to help cover their tracks. But Division Agent Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou) is a powerful pusher who has made it his mission to stop them at all costs, regardless of the collateral damages that may occur in the process.』
『Complicated to the point of viewer exhaustion,Pushis a hard-to-follow and often silly work of science fiction about refugees from a secret U.S. government program simply referred to as "the Division." Dakota Fanning and Chris Evans play the children of psychically gifted parents victimized by the Division. (She's a seer, he's got mild telekinetic abilities.) Neither wants to end up forced to cooperate with Djimon Hounsou's determined operator trying to create the ultra-"pusher," i.e., a subject so gifted they can work major miracles with their mind. The odd thing is that the story is set in China, where gang action and general exotica have a way of obscuring the story proper. Things get a little more interesting when the odd pairing of Fanning and Evans is joined by a few other interesting actors (Ming Na, Cliff Curtis, Camille Belle) playing ex-Division types with psychic abilities. For a while, an "X-Men"-like vibe starts to build, but then quickly dissipates in a script practically drunk on upending audience expectations every few minutes. Nearly two hours long,Pushwears down one's tolerance pretty quickly, yet manages to leave one feeling as if the story is unfinished by end credits.--Tom Keogh

(Awesome!!! when is Volume 5 Coming Out?)
『It's great to finally have a decent copy of the original X-Men Animated Series from the 1990's. This collection contains my favourite saga Beyond Good&Evil.

I would highly reccomend this to any X-Men Fan.』

(Worth having for the Christmas episode alone)
『It's not easy being a hero or a villain in the world of the X-Men. They're feared, shunned, misunderstood and generally have lots of mental baggage from their childhoods. Clearly the themes of prejudice, oppression and ignorance find many footholds in the serpentine storylines that weave through Volume 2 of Buena Vista's "Marvel Comic Book Collection" releases of the TV series, which first appeared in daytime syndication in the 90's.

That's not to say that the mutants don't relax and enjoy their lives once in a while. In one episode, several enjoy a picnic. They kid each other with fond affection. They are a truly dysfunctional family.

Nowhere on the series is this more evident than in the Christmas episode...yes, that's right -- called "Have Yourself a Morlock Little X-Mas." Jubilee is happy to spend her first Christmas with the mutants, Gambit cooks up traditional holiday treats, and Beast makes a mess of the cranberry sauce. There are mess ups, mixed feelings, and reluctant grumps. Just like in most families. The episode also seems to be fully post scored, blending holiday tunes with the X-Men theme -- a nice touch that is not always done in a single TV animation due to the costs.

(What a series!)
『I really liked this series. It had my favorite story THE DARK PHOENIX SAGA. Nowhere near as good and the comic version, but still VERY good! It is a shame this series was canceled when MARVEL went though bankruptcy back in the mid 90s. I bet it would have gone on for many more seasons.

I am hoping they will release the last season, when they SERIOUSLY upgraded the animation...and finally showed THE PHALANX, and THE BROOD.

(FINALLY)
『I have been and I think will always be an X-men fan! I loved this show on Fox Kids ever since its first airing. I bought a version of this on DVD sometime ago and payed alot more for it ( now I wished i hadn't makes me sick thinking about it) I don't remember exact cost but I know over 50.00 or more, it sucked bigger than anything. It was "copied" from old VHS/broadcast TV show, fuzzy, blurred. I knew from the ad it was this way so I didn't expect much, but it was the at the time the ONLY way to see this entire series completely.
I wished that a DVD version of M.A.S.K. would be brought out and somehow digitally remastered to fix up animation. Amazon sells vol. 1 and 2 of a DVD set but its like the above mention of original x-men set i bought. Picture was blurred, fuzzy, recorded with a vcr, etc.

I'm looking forward to buying the Wolverine and the X-men box set when Nicktoons network decides to release. I know I'm a 36 yr old man but as I stated I will always be an X-man!!

(wait for a decent release?)
『Ok my previous review caused some controversy so:
1) There are not only 4 episodes per disc I was exaggerating
2)I know usually lawyers and licensing are the cause for this delays
3) That is still no excuse for not remastering and adding bonus content to these releases
4) I still think people should wait for a release that shows respect for a show with such a following
5) I still hope they release the spiderman series soon, remastered and with bonus content, please

『The action reaches all new heights in Volume 4 of the landmark X-Men animated series. With adventures adapted directly from the original marvel comic books, this colletion is a rich piece of the X-Men legacy and a must have for every X-Man fan.

X-Men must join forces with the heroes of the future whan Apocalypse, a mighty mutant, is driven completely mad by his powers. Discuver the stunning conclusion to the 4-part epic Beyond Good and Evil in this sensational 14-episode set.』

(I Love This Movie!!)
『I fell in love with this movie as a child and still enjoy it as an adult. I had it in VHS format, but was happy to find it on Amazon.com on DVD for a great price! It is a really neat movie - great for older kids and beyond. It is full of adventure, suspense, some humor, and a great story line that will keep you wondering what will happen next. My mom and I have a favorite line from the movie: "You may remove your shoes" (the grand high witch tells the other witches at their conference.)』

(Angelica Houston Leads the Coven in The Witches)
『I've seen this movie many times and love Angelica Houston's performance. After seeing it so many times, I wanted to add it to my DVD collection, and ordered it through one of the vendors (silverfox) here on Amazon. I was very disappointed that I never received the DVD, although I contacted the vendor by email twice. The worst part of this is that they never bothered to reply my emails, and only responded after contact from Amazon. This review is certainly more about the poor customer service of the vendor than it is about the movie. However, it is a wonderful movie that will keep youngsters and the young at heart entertained, although some scenes may be a wee too scary for the under 5 set.』

(Don't buy this item from Amazon! They don't have it!)
『This is an awesome movie! I saw it at the theatre when it first came out, and now I want it for my grandson.

I just tried to buy it from Amazon hoping to have it for a gift. Amazon shows that if you buy 2 other movies with this one, you get all 3 for a deal.

I received the other 2 movies, but NOT "The Witches" which is the movie I wanted in the first place.

After waiting for 10 days, I finally got an email from Amazon stating that they don't have "The Witches" and they will take it off of their website. Well guess what. It's still being advertised as in stock, and Amazon is still offering a deal if you buy 2 other movies with it.

Don't believe it. You'll get the 2 other movies, but not "The Witches".

I would get it in writing first, from Amazon, that they really do have this movie in stock!

Good luck!』

『This splendid adventure-fantasy from 1990 was adapted from Roald Dahl's book and directed by maverick British filmmaker Nicolas Roeg, who turned out to be a perfect (if seemingly unlikely) interpreter of Dahl's fiendishly clever tale of witchcraft in contemporary England. Scary, funny, and wildly entertaining, it's all about a young boy named Luke (Jasen Fisher) whose parents have died in a tragic accident, and whose grandmother (Mai Zetterling) takes him to a posh hotel in England, where a secret coven of witches is holding its annual convention. The Grand High Witch (Anjelica Huston, in a scene-stealing performance) has decreed that all children in England be turned into mice, and Luke and his pal Bruno (Charles Potter) are the first victims on the list. That's when the movie magicians from Jim Henson's creature shop have their work cut out for them, turning Luke and Bruno into clever little rodents andThe Witchesinto a dazzling display of imaginative special effects, using a seamless combination of real mice and superb animatronic puppets. Director Roeg doesn't compromise the sinister edge of Dahl's story, but comedy gets equal time from the brilliant cast including Brenda Blethyn (fromSecrets and LiesandLittle Voice), Rowan Atkinson (ofBlack AdderandMr. Beanfame), and Jane Horrocks (Little Voice) as the Grand High Witch's beleaguered assistant. Although it was largely neglected during its brief theatrical release, this wonderful movie has since enjoyed a thriving appreciation on video--see it and you'll understand why.--Jeff Shannon

(1st USA review on this USA DVD set. CRIME SERIES FINALE PACKED WITH BONUS)
『WHAT IS BETTER THAN "LIFE ON MARS: SERIES ONE"?? Easy--Series Two.
It is a crime investigation drama, action packed, Emmy winning BBC series that intentionally ended itself while on the top of it's fan base. THIS REVIEW IS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE USA, N. America playable, DVD SET.

DI Sam Tyler (John Simm) is still in a 21st-century ICU ward while simultaneously fighting London criminal life in the year 1973. Will he ever return to 2006? Will his relationship with DC Annie Cartwright (Liz White) get beyond he-cop/she-cop?

Major crime investigation continues with criminal mayhem and police illegal procedures, 1973 style, oh yes, with a bit of time-travel suspense. This is the best time-travel writing since Dorothy visited OZ&the Emerald City. Series Two, has an increase in comedy moments. It's not Police/Action/Drama turned comedy, but small moments and lines that cause LOL belly chuckles. Tension breaks at unexpected times, perfectly timed. This series, as compared to Life On Mars One, also has increased police violence toward the accused. A "By-the-Books" 1973 mindset must have came from the comic books, not today's acceptable criminal investigation rules. Sam objects to that.

This has a very real feel to a period (1973) drama piece, taking the viewer back in visuals, props, sets, costumes, speech, and music. 1970s music is a vital part of the show, and pleasant background for the nostalgic viewers. Included, but not limited to, are artists and songs: David Bowie, "Goodbye Yellow House Road", "The Sweet Hellraiser", Barclay James Harvest, "In the Shining Sun", David Cassidy, Moody Blues, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Elton John, "Rocket Man", Whiskey in the Jar, Traffic, Cream, "Crossroads", The Sweets, "Love Lies Bleeding", Israel Kamakawiwi'de, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", "Changes", and of course, "LIFE ON MARS."

episode details:
1---Casino owner&killer in '73 is the man about to pull the plug in ICU 21st-century. Can Sam change history? Annie gets promoted.
2---Safe cracker Dickie Fingers escapes prison, gets set-up, re-nicked, and fingers a cop on the inside for protection promised by Sam. Is it true?
3---Sam's sure IRA bombs&threats are a hoax. Will DCI Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister, also of "Cranford", see my 5-star review) "rounding up" Irish solve the crisis?
4---Sam gets to go undercover as Annie's husband to investigate a social circles connection to a girl's death. Spouse key-swapping link? Tough assignment for Sam?
5---Sam helps solve a kidnapping while sick. Is a hospital overdose his illness? This episode has a twist to a twist. Packed drama.
6---Heroin, new drug on the street, is mixed up in racial bigotry. Murder raises the stakes. Then a link that topples Sam's 2 worlds.
7---DCI Hunt awakes from a drunk stupor facing a murdered body, the man Gene publicly threatened. Interim DCI Morgan finds the guilty evidence fast. Sam must find Hunt's innocence.
8---Sam finally is told his mission--what he must do to get back home (to 2006). But can he do it? There are those in 1973 he's begun to care about.

Within the USA's "Life on Mars: Series 2" 4-DVD set with 8 (approx. hour long) episodes, are Bonus Features galore.
SDH subtitles, even on some features.
documentary of "The Return of Life on Mars"
3 "Behind the Scenes" segments. #3 details the exploding car, awesome. #5 the how of a funny animation snippet. #7 deals with difficulties in an on-location period courtroom.
A tour of the set, the police headquarters, an elaborate construction
featurette on "The End of Life on Mars", a spoiler best left for after viewing all episodes.
"Tufty's Cameo" a closer look at one of the funny segments.

What a combination of drama potential, first/foremost police crime investigation, but also period excellence, a kiss of romance, outbursts of comedy, action enough to rival any contemporary film, suspense to make you jump, music to enchant but yet relevant to the story, and time travel for a twist. 3 "RIGHT ON" cheers for this USA DVD set, subtitles, and it's giant bonus package.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, as is, of course, Series One (see my review on year one of this masterfully written 2-YEAR series that is concluded with LIFE ON MARS: SERIES 2.』

(A rich and satisfying finale to the series)
『Sam Tyler is still stuck in 1973, unsure if he has somehow really travelled backwards in time or if he is merely stuck in a coma in 2006 and is fantasising everything that is happening to him. However, now he has been there for a few weeks he is getting more used to life in the 1970s and is starting to downplay the unusual auditory and visual hallucinations he continues to suffer from. But, just as things seem to be settling down, questions about Sam's previous 1970s life in 'Hyde' before relocating to Manchester arise, and set in chain a sequence of events which could lead Sam home...wherever that is.

Life on Mars' second season was the last, due to a combination of the producers not wishing to over-exploit the concept and lead actor John Simm's well-known reluctance to be typecast in a long-running television series. It was a bold decision for a series that had become a big hit on British television and done the seemingly impossible by getting audiences fired up over a cop show.

The second season offers up pretty much more of the same as the first season: Sam and Gene butt heads over their different approaches to policing, but they have, grudgingly, accepted that each has skills the other does not, and when they combine their approaches it often leads to good results. Sam and Annie continue to not quite get it together in the tradition of all great TV will-they, won't-they romances, and Sam continues to be haunted by hallucinations of his life in 2006 which relate to his current situation in 1973. The show also moves onto slightly more contentious ground in Season 2 by covering the more controversial subject of IRA terrorism in one episode whilst continuing to examine the extent of corruption and heavy-handed methods in the 1970s police force.

In my review of Season 1, I mentioned that the show's continuous use of Sam's odd mental state occasionally gets a little exasperating, as sometimes you'd quite like to just see Sam and Gene butt heads and then solve the crime without Sam freaking out every twenty minutes. The producers play on this in two episodes in particular in the second season, one in which Sam doesn't have any odd experiences and starts getting worried about the lack of them, and another in which Sam reacts very badly to whatever is happening to him in the present and has to sit most of the investigation out. This latter episode, which is by far the most 'freak-out' intensive of the series, also perversely is one of the very best episodes, with flashbacks showing how they operated before he arrived (and giving rise to the unusual sight of scenes not featuring Sam, which feels odd as he is in every other single scene of every other episode of the whole series).

Of course, as good as the individual episodes are (and they are pretty damn good), the one episode that everyone will be left talking about is the very last one. British SF is awash with series-ending episodes that leave the audience reeling and talking about them for years or decades afterwards: Blake's 7, Sapphire and Steel and The Prisoner being the most notable (Quantum Leap's befuddling finale is probably the USA's closest equivalent). Life on Mars joins their august ranks with a finale that takes the viewer on a crazy existential rollercoaster ride as we finally get an answer for what is going on with Sam, but that answer is in turn supplanted by another, contradictory one in a manner that would make Christopher Priest proud. Which is the truth and which do we believe? The finale operates on multiple levels of reality with the viewer not quite able to trust what is going on. There is a very clear 'obvious' possible answer for what is going on, but just as with David Lynch's Mulholland Drive, that 'obvious' answer still leaves other, key questions unanswered.

Taken in isolation, Life on Mars' finale is very strong indeed. However, the news that a sequel/spin-off series was forthcoming which would shed more light on events did dilute the strength of that finale a bit, and Ashes to Ashes' plot developments have indeed plunged much of what we thought we knew from Life on Mars' finale into doubt. But further examination of that series is for another review.

The second season of Life on Mars (****½) is thoroughly entertaining, funny, thought-provoking and just the right side of ambiguous. It draws a line under the series and sets up the sequel series quite nicely. It is available now in the UK (DVD, Blu-Ray) and will be released in the USA on DVD in November.』

The International Emmy®-winning series seen on BBC America

Same place, same job. Different time, different rules. That’s the situation facing detective Sam Tyler (John Simm,State of Play) in this British drama thatTV Guidecalls "an entertaining collision of bare-knuckled police-procedural realism and mind-blowing surrealism."

Knocked unconscious by a hit-and-run driver in 21st-century Manchester, Tyler wakes up in 1973. Is he dreaming, time traveling, or just plain crazy? Whatever the case, he might as well have landed on another planet. Although shocked by the brutality of his bullying boss (Philip Glenister,Cranford) and the callousness of his squad mates, Sam gamely adapts to crime solving in this retro world. But even as romance blossoms with policewoman Annie (Liz White,The Fixer), mysterious voices from his former life keep calling him home. Trapped in the past, he must decide where his future lies--and how to get there--in the tension-filled finale.

『My order came faster than expected and was in great condition. I would definitely order from this company again.』

("Trust No One...")
『The dying words of Deep Throat to Mulder and Scully at the end of Season 1. Season 2 picks up with the X-Files closed, Mulder and Scully are reassigned to different parts of FBI but that doesn't stop them from still poking their noses where they don't belong. With Deep Throat dead a new voice from the shadows emerges to guide Agent Mulder, Mr. X. Unlike Deep Throat Mr. X is utterly ruthless and has no problem sacrificing Mulder if he gets in the way of his own agenda. Assistant Director Skinner comes into his role more as he must decide to either help Mulder and Scully or continue to be a puppet for those above him. And the Smoking Man steps a little closer into the light to reveal more of his sinister plans and methods. The plot thickens and the conspiracy gets more complicated than thought possible.

Season 2 is one of the best because of its balance of mythology and Monster of the Week episodes. There are plenty stand alone episodes to start novices off on. Season 2 also ventured out from SciFi into plain horror with such episodes as Die Hand Die Verletzt, Fresh Bones and The Calusari which deals with the occult and demonic.

Season 2 will keep newcomers happy without a doubt and bring back good memories for X-Philes.

The Truth Is Out There... And So Are Lies...』

『Okay, so I haven't actually seen the entire season yet, but I recently discovered this series (I never paid much attention to it when it was on tv) and I loved the first season. I just thought I'd write a review to let people know that it seems the missing episode problem has been resolved, at least if you buy it from Amazon. I just got the set today and popped in disc 6 to be sure it included the finale episode and it does. From looking at the disc it looks a bit different in format from the first 5 discs so I bet Amazon has replaced the discs with the missing episode with new ones. As long as you buy it directly from Amazon I doubt it will be missing the episode. I just wanted to let people know so they aren't afraid to buy this awesome series!!』

(Buy it!)
『25 episodes of one of the best TV series ever. It had plenty of the on going plot episodes where you first start seeing what the motives are for the cover ups. I personally love the random episodes that have nothing to do with the main plot of the series just a little bit more and this season has a plenty them too, so It was perfic for me. I would of gladly paid full retail price(I bought it used for like $14 from an amazon seller)! If you find a deal, you have to BUY IT!』

(Missing episode woes? Here's the solution...)

『In this second season box set, Mulder and Scully get glimpses of the global conspiracy as they investigate UFO's, alien abductions, genetic engineering, and ominous government agents.』
『While the first season ofThe X-Filesintroduced us to Scully and Mulder, the second season finds the show confidently hitting its stride. Building on its earlier success, the show evolves, and in these 25 episodes, a glimpse is shown of a longer-running story line (which will continue through subsequent seasons) that is woven into the usual stand-alone episodes of the paranormal. These so-called mythology episodes hint at a global conspiracy involving sinister government agents, UFOs, alien abductions, genetic engineering, the ever-lurking Cigarette Smoking Man, and Fox Mulder's father. Season 2 fleshes out Mulder's family history, including the childhood abduction of his sister Samantha, an event that would shape him for life. Actress Gillian Anderson (Scully) became unexpectedly pregnant during season 2, but series creator Chris Carter managed to dance nimbly around her absence and even integrate it into the show. As in season 1, Mulder and Scully are surrounded by a strong supporting cast, which adds a suspicious new agent named Alex Krycek, an informant named X, and a seemingly indestructible alien bounty hunter.

Among the standout episodes are "The Host," "Duane Barry/Ascension," "Humbug," "Dod Kalm," "Colony/End Game," and "Anasazi." These episodes are a powerful reminder thatThe X-Files, like no other show on television, can span horror, suspense, mystery, romance, drama, and comedy, sometimes all in the same episode, and always with the production values of a major feature film.--Eugene Wei

『Received the product 2 days after ordering!!! Much quicker than expected! The product was exactly as stated! Would purchase from this seller anytime!』

(Almost as good as season one)
『You simply cannot jump into BSG with season 2. None of it will make sense. None of it will compel you.

But if you've followed the series from season 1, you practically *must* see through the story line to season 2. And fortunately, most of season 2 lives up to the high quality of the first season.

This set is only truly the first "half" of season 2 - season 2.5, while technically labeled and sold separately, is really the second half of season 2. This first half, fortunately, almost stands on its own, and aside from the final episode "Pegasus," is not truly tied to the second half - thus, it is possible (if you bought season 1) to buy this season of BSG, and not continue further with the series. It may not fully end the story of the Battlestar Galactica and its crew, but it does leave it on at least a satisfactory note.

Season 2 picks up right where 1 left off, and continues to track Galactica and its crew through an ongoing crisis (or three). Along the way we get greater insights into the history of the self-destructive Colonel Tigh, what makes Apollo tick and why he has that gigantic chip on his shoulder, and what can crack the tough facade of Starbuck - as well as some amazing glimpses of what that Cylon "plan" really might be.

As I said, one could watch most of this season, stop around episode 7 or 9, and not watch further. Beware, however, that once you've decided to go ahead and continue with "Pegasus," you will be nearly forced to continue the story through season 2.5. Don't let this stop you, however - that episode gives us new characters, new crises, and one of the absolute best performances by Callis and Helfer (but it is gut and maybe heart-wrenching - be prepared to be disturbed). On the strength of this episode, Helfer won acting awards for what can only be described as brilliant, natural acting talent.』

(A season of galactic proportions)
『Even though season two was cut up into Season 2.0 and 2.5, the first half is still filled with all kinds of action, plot, and character development.

Last we saw, "Boomer" shot Adama.

We all held our breaths and waited for Season 2.0.

Adama does not die, but things do not go perfectly on Galactica with our favorite commander healing up. "Starbuck" goes off to Caprica to try to get the Arrow of Apollo for Roslin. She runs into "Helo" and a Sharon copy. We see a lot of Cylon copies from now on. Riots break out all over the fleet and Tigh starts to talk about what to do with "Boomer" and Tyrol. "Boomer" doesn't get her judge and jury, but is quickly sentenced by Cally. On Caprica, they run into a resistence movement and "Starbuck" ends up captured and experimented on by Cylons.

Meanwhile, in the fleet there is a division - there are two sides: Roslin&Zarek. Adama finally gets back onto his feet and tries to reunite the fleet. His fleet. Adama and Roslin work much better in this season even though they still have their problems.

In the final episode of this half-season we meet the Pegasus, another Battlestar. After all the time they believed they were the sole surviving Battlestar they are amazed to have another. Adama and Roslin must give over the control of the fleet to Admiral Cain. Roslin isn't thrilled with this idea, but Adama has no other choice. This addition of not only a Battlestar, but another crew with resources and Vipers is an asset to the whole fleet.

(Terrific mini-season!)
『I'm a latecomer to "Battlestar Galactica" and am just now watching them on DVD. Season 2.0 consists of 10 episodes, which pick up immediately where Season 1 ended. The many cliffhangers from Season 1 are spun out over a plot arc comprising the first five episodes. It's a bit unexpected having so many loose ends lingering (so many shows nowadays resolve everything in the first episode of each season), but the producers and writers manage to milk these plots for all they're worth without making them seem too prolonged. Without giving away too much plot, it's safe to reveal that these episodes focus on the survivors continuing to search for earth while also trying to bring the fleet back together. The next five episodes feature more self-contained episodes and end with a big surprise that seemingly changes the course of the series. I have to admit that I wasn't happy with the final episode of Season 2.0, but I'll give the producers and writers the benefit of the doubt and assume that they will make it work.

Two new cylons are introduced during the course of these ten episodes. It's unclear whether we'll be seeing these two versions often in the future, but they're interesting additions to our first four models. The most compelling arc for me was the budding rivalry between Helo and Chief, and the two mens' anguish over the Sharon situation. Take away the cylon aspect of this plot, and it's still a solid love triangle, with the three actors making the most of these scenes. Overall, Season 2.0 is solid - just a tad lesser than the stellar Season 1. The DVD set is good, although there are fewer episode commentaries and behind-the-scene peaks than we received on the Season 1 set. Season 2.0 is followed by Season 2.5, which also consists of 10 episodes. Ideally, these two mini-seasons should have been packaged together at a reasonable price; however, cable television series do tend to be more expensive on dvd, so I won't begrudge them their profits here.

(battlestar galactica season 2)
『FANTASTIC !!!!! Season 2 followed up season 1 perfectly and the entire show is written and scripted perfectly. Tv masterpiece』
『Sci-fi's hottest TV series returns as Battlestar Galactica 2.0 blasts onto DVD in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. As the epic second season begins, the fight to save humanity rages on - even as civil war looms within the fleet between the followers of President Roslin and Commander Adama. Relive all the intensity and excitement aboard the Galactica with a supernova of explosive bonus features, including deleted scenes and podcasts. It's a heart-pounding adventure you can't afford to miss!』
『The first half ofBattlestar Galactica's second season left no doubts about the continuing excellence of the best science fiction TV series of 2005. Beginning with the Colonial Fleet separated, Col. Tigh (Michael Hogan) botching his temporary command, and Capt. Adama (Edward James Olmos) near death after a Cylon assassination attempt, series producer/developer Ronald D. Moore and his gifted writing staff packed more into these 10 episodes than most series manage in a full season. Maintaining its reputation as an adult drama, the series is compellingly anchored by the gravitas of Olmos and Mary McDonnell, whose role as Fleet President Laura Roslin grows more complex as she reveals her diagnosis of breast cancer and defies Adama, playing the "religious card" with her conviction that prophetic visions will lead the embattled fleet toward its legendary home planet Earth. As Adama's son Apollo (Jamie Bamber) wrestles with his role in Roslin's mutinous agenda, paranoia runs high as Cylon copies (or "avatars") of Boomer (Grace Park) complicate matters aboard Galactica and on Kobol, where a lost Raptor crew struggles to survive and Dr. Baltar (James Callis) endures the increasingly haunting and manipulative intrusions into his tormented psyche by Number Six (Tricia Helfer), the seductive Cylon who holds the secret to the Cylon master plan to destroy humankind.

Further action takes place on Cylon-occupied Caprica, where Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) and Helo (Tamoh Penikett) discover a group of human resistance fighters who survived the Cylons' nuclear attack in season 1. As all of these plot threads are expertly interwoven, the high-stakes conflict ofBG 2.0culminates in a suspenseful mid-season cliffhanger. Through all of this,Battlestar Galacticamaintains consistently high standards of intelligent drama and well-justified, story-based use of spectacular special effects, while developing rich relationships across a broad spectrum of interesting supporting characters. The series' large and likable cast is well-used throughout (even smaller roles are given adequate dimension), and Moore's "podcast" commentaries provide a smart, thorough analysis of the show's writing process and conceptual evolution. Yes, it's undeniably true that this half-season DVD set is a blatantly commercial ploy to lure more and more viewers into the ongoing season (which resumed in January 2006), but you can hardly blame Universal for capitalizing on a high-quality series. With solid ratings, good scripts, and a devoted cast and crew,Battlestar Galacticashowed every indication of thriving toward a third season and beyond.--Jeff Shannon

("Would sixty gallons be sufficient?")
『If you're a sci-fi fan, it's hard to have not already seen this at some point in your life (and it could well be the REASON you're a sci-fi fan), and it would be even harder not to love it.

This movie isn't called a classic for no reason; it's clear upon watching the vast influence it has had on virtually every science fiction film made since. Especially telling is the "Star Trek" inspiration: from the attitudes and behaviors of the crew (more akin to the original "The Cage" pilot) to the viewscreen and use of communicators, one can feel what young Gene Roddenberry must have taken with him from this movie. Also, the special effects were AMAZING for the early fifties; and yes, the "monster" is animated (although for the purposes of the story, it's VERY fitting that it would be)...but if you gotta have an animated monster, you couldn't ask for a better one than one done by a Disney animator.

All the conventions of sci-fi are represented, and the storyline is a very cerebral and provocative one...and seeing a very young Leslie Nielsen in a heroic and romantic role is great...and Anne Francis is very easy on the eyes as well, made all the better by being a strong and intelligent foil, not just there for the scenery...something else ahead of it's time and a template for the Ripleys and the Uhuras that were to follow.

All of this depth and thoughtful story, and Robby the Robot too! The great-grandaddy of R2-D2 and C-3P0 (George Lucas had to have had this guy in mind) adds cerebral value, some amount of menace, and even comedic relief to this overall staple of the genre.

All in all, if you're an old school sci-fi fan like me, or someone new to the genre wanting to see where a great deal of it all began, you cannot go wrong with this absolute classic.

Highly, highly recommended.』

(Forbidden Planet - The Id of Your Life)
『The 1950's was the golden age of science fiction, many great films were made, that even now influence our lives and thoughts today. One such film is Forbidden Planet, and for me. It is still one of the best films-and perhaps the only film that has a unique sound track which can not be beaten. Not only that but it introduced one of the best great robots of all time - Robby, this robot is so iconic, it-or he is instantly recognisable.

Before I go on, I just have to say that the music for the film was and still is ahead of its time, and if you watch the credits it comes under `Electronic Tonalities' by Louis and Bebe Barron, this inspiring couple used no musical instruments to compose the weird and wonderful music of Forbidden Planet; and if you look at the theatrical posters of the time, this couple's names are not mentioned - the Academy didn't even recognised the film score as music-how ignorant is that? Because no actual musical instruments were used, Louis and Bebe used tape and electronics to compose the now unforgettable haunting sound for the film. In my mind both Louise and Bebe Barron should receive honorary Oscars for original film score-its well overdue.

Now as for the acting skills of the performers, Walter Pidgeon is perfectly cast as Dr. Edward Morbius, you did know wether to love him or pity him in his struggle with his Id, and over developed intellect. Then there's the lovely Anne Francis as Altaira, Morbius' daughter, beautiful, naïve, and bright. Leslie Nielsen as Commander J. J. Adams, strong and heroic. Warren Stevens as Dr. Ostrow-unusual name, wise, intelligent, a close friend of the commander. It seems there are shades of the Kirk and McCoy between these two men, as the characters/actors work well together. Jack Kellyas Lt. Jerry Farman, another friend of Adams, a likeable easy going guy, obviously a ladies man. Plus two other recognisable actors early in their careers are Richard Anderson (Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman), as Chief Quinn, and Earl Holliman (Police Woman), as Cook, giving a light comedic touch to the film. A well balanced cast in my opinion.

Okay, let's look at this 50th Anniversary Edition of Forbidden Planet, first when it states that it is the Ultimate Collector's Edition, you must never use the word `Ultimate' because it implies it contains everything and anything-well this edition-doesn't-of course thus you'll end up scrutinising it no end-and yes you guess it, I'm going to do just that; let's have a look at what you get anyway:

1] Forbidden Planet (Widescreen)
2] The Invisible Boy (Widescreen-bonus movie feathering Robby)
3] 17 Lobby Cards (reproductions 5A size-approx of both films)
4] Forbidden Planet - Deleted Scenes and Lost Footage
5] Excerpts from `The MGM Parade' TV series with Walter Pidgeon
6] `Client' episode with Robby from the TV series `The Thin Man'
7] 3 Documentaries: `Amazing! Exploring the Far Reaches of Forbidden Planet', `Robby the Robot: Engineering a Sci-Fi Icon', and `TCM Original Watch the Skies!: Science Fiction, the 1950s and Us'
8] Science-Fiction Movie Trailer Gallery
9] 3.5" figure of Robby the Robot

All the above is presented to you in a tin case-which is itself worth getting.

Now in regards the Robby the Robot figure, which was one of the main reasons I got this DVD Edition. I am really disappointed because there is a little false advertising involved, if one looks at the back of the box, the figure of Robby is about 21cm tall, compared to the other merchandize shown, but in reality it is about 9cm (3.5" inches tall), even though it states in small print that the figure is 3.5" Actual Size. (Even on the Amazon website picture shows what I mean) It is obvious that the Marketing Department wanted to sucker us in-well it worked with me, and looking at the metal box it came in, you can easily fit a 6" inch Robby figure. So the point is don't be fooled-seeing is not believing.

So is this really the Ultimate Edition-well no, because there's no such thing, I mean if we are featuring Robby as a bonus in what he has done over the years, then two more acting skills should have been included in this 50th Anniversary Edition: 1] the Lost in Space episode, "The War of the Robots" and 2] the Ark II episode, "The Robot", (this episode showed Robby with a different look than what we are used too) and there are more, of course like than appearance in Wonder Woman for example.

Plus there are two other things I would like with this edition, a booklet, describing the movie, some production notes, cast&crew listing, and any trivia, as well as a CD of the original Film/Music sound track. Why is it that special, anniversary or collector editions don't have CD sound tracks, I'm sure the collector would like to hear the musical score-wouldn't you?

All in all this 50th Anniversary Edition of Forbidden Planet is cool, and the film is my third all-time favourite sci-fi film, and it's easy to see why. You can get just the double DVD without the Robby figure, but if you go that far-go the extra, you won't be disappointed.

One final point, Forbidden Planet is pure science fiction at it's best for the era, and it still hold up today, this is science fiction as it was meant to be, this film set standards for future films to follow. Today's science fiction is dead-film wise, there is no imagination left-ok-ok, what about Star Wars? What about it? Its in a different league of science fiction and it and it successors are really merchandize driven, (today's generation are of a different mind-set) as with all other sci-fi/fantasy films.

Thanks to www.imdb.com for additional information on the cast.

(Forbidden Planet Movie Review)
『This science fiction movie is one of the top five made in the 1950's and is even superior to the original "War of the Worlds" made in the 1950's. The story is truly a superior work as the events portrayed are possible in theory.』

(Very pleased with purchase)

(A Classic Seen With New Eyes)
『I've been a fan of Forbidden Planet since I was a kid in the 60s. But while I've seen it hundreds of times, I've NEVER seen it as crisp, clean and beautifully displayed as in this HD-DVD version. That includes the special edition anniversary version on DVD, which was remastered from original material just for that edition. High definition really lends itself to this sort of visually oriented film, and it's just wonderfully done on this disc. Bravo!』
『A dutiful robot named Robby speaks 188 languages. An underground lair offers evidence of an advanced civilization. But among Altair-4's many wonders, none is greater or more deadly than the human mind. Forbidden Planet is the granddaddy of tomorrow, a pioneering work whose ideas and style would be reverse-engineered into many cinematic space voyages to come. Leslie Nielsen plays the commander who brings his spacecruiser crew to the green-skied world that's home to Dr. Morbius (Walter Pidgeon), his daughter (Anne Francis)...and to a mysterious terror. Featuring sets of extraordinary scale and the first all-electronic musical soundscape in film history, Forbidden Planet is in a movie orbit all its own.』
『This 1956 pop adaptation of Shakespeare'sThe Tempestis one of the best, most influential science fiction movies ever made. Its space explorers are the models for the crew ofStar Trek'sEnterprise, and the film's robot is clearly the prototype for Robby inLost in Space. Walter Pidgeon is the Prospero figure, presiding over a paradisiacal world with his lovely young daughter and their servile droid. When the crew of a spaceship lands on the planet, they become aware of a sinister invisible force that threatens to destroy them. Great special effects and a bizarre electronic score help make this movie as fresh, imaginative, and fun as it was when first released.--Amazon.com

On the DVDs
On disc 1 of the colorfully designed 2-disc 50th Anniversary Edition ofForbidden Planet(also available in a collector's box), the movie is presented with a new digital transfer from restored picture and audio elements, with soundtrack remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1, offering considerable improvement over the film's previous DVD release. A selection of deleted scenes were taken from a faded and scratchy 16-millimeter "work print" that had originally been viewed by composers Louis and Bebe Barron as they were creating the film's unique electronic score; they consist of full or partial scenes cut from the final film-- mostly for good reason, but collectors (and those who first saw this rare material on the original Criterion Collection laserdisc) will welcome their inclusion here. The "lost footage" is crude special-effects test footage, primarily of interest to sci-fi historians and aficionados. Given the fact that the original "Robby the Robot" cost over $100,000 to build in 1955, it's easy to see why MGM wanted to get their money's worth: An excerpt from the 1950s TV series "MGM Parade" showsForbidden Planetstar Walter Pigeon appearing briefly with Robby, and the popular robot gets even more attention as a guest star in "The Robot Client," an episode of theThin ManTV series (starring Peter Lawford and Phyllis Kirk) that originally aired on Feb. 28, 1958. Disc 1 also includes a gallery of seven science-fiction movie trailers dating from 1953 (The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms) to 1960'sThe Time Machine.

Disc 2 begins with 1957'sThe Invisible Boy, a still-enjoyable B-movie that served as Robby's post-Forbidden Planetshowcase. Here, filmdom's favorite automaton plays sidekick to a young boy (Richard Eyer) who turns invisible when he gets caught up in a super-computer's scheme of global domination. Also included are three documentaries, ranging from very good to excellent: In addition to reuniting the surviving cast members of the '56 classic (including Leslie Nielsen, Anne Francis, Richard Anderson, Warren Stevens, and Earl Holliman), "Amazing! Exploring the Far Reaches ofForbidden Planet" is an appreciative tribute toForbidden Planetwith some of Hollywood's foremost sci-fi fans including special effects masters Dennis Muren and Phil Tippett, SF movie expert Bill Warren, and others. "Robby the Robot: Engineering a Sci-Fi Icon" is a featurette about the robot's design, creation and pop-cultural history, featuring original "Robby" designer Robert Kinoshita, Bill Malone (current owner of the original Robby), and Fred "The Robot Man" Barton, a lifelong robot fanatic who now sells fully authorized, full-scale replicas of Robby for sci-fi fans with deep pockets. Closing out disc 2 is "Watch the Skies!: Science Fiction, the 1950s and Us," a 2005 documentary from Turner Classic Movies, written and directed by Time magazine critic Richard Schickel. It's a thoroughly comprehensive survey of '50s sci-fi and its influence on the next generation of film directors, including engaging interviews with George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, Ridley Scott and James Cameron.--Jeff Shannon

(Glad I got to see it)
『I haven't read the novel I Am Legend. And I haven't seen its original big screen outing, Omega Man, starring Charlton Heston. However, I recently sat down to watch the latest Will Smith-helmed outing of I Am Legend. The movie is thrilling, touching, and eye-popping. It's a great evening's entertainment for fans of action and sci-fi thrillers alike.

Smith is the man who is the key to cancer. The back story tells us that scientists obviously rocked the world when they unlocked this piece of the genetic puzzle. What they never could have expected was the plague that would claim more lives than cancer ever did. And that's the backdrop where we get to know Smith's Robert Neville.

Neville is the only human left in New York City. This is the visually stunning part of the film. The CGI really gives us an amazing view of a broken down, overgrown, post-apocalyptic New York. Neville roars through the city hunting deer from his Ford Mustang. Tearing up sidewalks, and dodging busses, our hero hunts wild deer with his faithful dog Sam.

At night, the two fortify themselves in Neville's apartment. They must do this because the plague which rocked the world has turned some of its inhabitants into nocturnal monsters. They are the key threat to our hero's world, and the one compelling reason that keeps him strong. He was the one who unlocked Pandora's Box. And no one else will be able to set things right.

Will Smith has come a long way since his Fresh Prince days. Outings in films like Independence Day, Hitch, Bad Boys, and The Pursuit of Happyness have cemented Smith as a solid leading man. I Am Legend gives him a chance to really flex his dramatic muscles. We see Neville as eccentric hermit, grieving husband, and driven hero.

I Am Legend delivers a solid story with echoes that may leave you wondering `what if' for some time after.

『The DVD I purchesed was great just as described will do business with seller again』

(Major dissapointment)
『Let me state right from the beginning that if I had not read the book, I may have ranked the movie higher, but (unfortunately) I can't be that objective. Richard Matheson's near perfect man vs. self story of isolation and terror had been made into too many bad film versions already, and this one does nothing to help the cause. Will Smith does a nice job of trying to carry the film on his well developed shoulders (nice job with the reverse chin-ups, Fresh Prince) but the plot is convoluted and the emotion is forced. Watch this, if you must, but be prepared to be hugely disappointed if you've read and enjoyed the novel.』

(Brilliant Performance by Will Smith)
『Well, I am not a great Fan of Movies which has a story line covering Zombies, any way 'I am Legend' has taken a different approach. This movie is based on novel by Richard Matheson of the same name.

Synopsis : The Movie starts with a flashback where it is revealed that in 2009 a genetically Re-engineered Measles Virus was created to cure Cancer; later on this Virus undergoes mutation and generates a new lethal airborne based disease which spreads worldwide killing ninety percent of those infected, while the remaining few percent who possessed natural immunity to this virus survived rest turned to a aggressive primal beings who were not able to tolerate Sun Light thus forcing them to hide in the dark till dusk. Slowly most of this immune people where hunted by the infected thus making the central character (Will Smith) as the lone survivor of the holocaust.

Will Smith plays as Dr. Robert Neville a US Army Scientist who posses the natural immunity against this airborne disease. He seems to have decided to stay back in Manhattan and try to find a possible cure. His daily day to day routine includes moving across the lonely Manhattan in the day time for hunting and gathering foods while in the night he works in his Lab trying to find a cure. He also waits every day for a response to his continuous recorded radio broadcasts, where he instructs any uninfected survivors to meet him at midday at the South Street Seaport. The only sanity in him is seemed to be kept alive by his only companion 'Samantha' a canine.

Very soon his survival becomes difficult, as his once fortified home at Washington Square becomes an imminent attack spot by a group of the Infected. Within the course of time Smith teams up with a woman named Anna and a small boy named Ethan who save him from a night road assault. The movie ultimately winds up with the cure resulting from his blood and Neville's(Smith)sacrifice to protect it.

Well I think the whole movie pulled up well with the extraordinary performance by Will Smith. The movies first forty minutes has been really a riveting experience, it just gave us a haunting look of the lonely Manhattan.

Though CGI created infected looked a little bit annoying, the overall experience was good. This movie is very much similar to Castaway where Tom Hanks portrays a person marooned in an island. 'I am Legend' may have received mixed reviews from across the world; after all it can be justified as portrayal of person's psychology against all odds and his belief. So in one way the movie has been able to deliver what it had to offer in the first place. If you are looking for lots of action then this movie may not be the right choice; if you are looking for drama with a dark theme then this just proves to do so.

If there is no solid ground which rationalizes for watching this film, then Will Smith's performance is ample enough to give this movie a chance.

I will rate it 7/10

Could have been better...........』

(Worth the price of admission)
『This is one of those movies you really need to watch more than once. There were things i did not realize until after i had watched it three times. Will Smith is great in this. It's funny because this action flick is also a tear jerker. You really feel this guys pain and lonliness. The scene were he is begging the manequin to speak was incredible. No this is not some kind of epic action film but it does enough to keep you interested. This movie has a good script, you could probably replace Will with almost anyone and it would be just as good. But then it probably wouldn't make as much money. LOL』
『Robert Neville is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable, and man-made. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague -- The Infected -- lurk in the shadows... watching Neville's every move... waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered... and quickly running out of time.』
『Will Smith stars in the third adaptation of Richard Matheson’s classic science-fiction novel about a lone human survivor in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by vampires. This new version somewhat alters Matheson’s central hook, i.e., the startling idea that an ordinary man, Robert Neville, spends his days roaming a desolated city and his nights in a house sealed off from longtime neighbors who have become bloodsucking fiends. In the new film, Smith’s Neville is a military scientist charged with finding a cure for a virus that turns people into crazed, hairless, flesh-eating zombies. Failing to complete his work in time--and after enduring a personal tragedy--Neville finds himself alone in Manhattan, his natural immunity to the virus keeping him alive. With an expressive German shepherd his only companion, Neville is a hunter-gatherer in sunlight, hiding from the mutants at night in his Washington Square town house and methodically conducting experiments in his ceaseless quest to conquer the disease.

The film’s first half almost suggests thatI Am Legendcould be one of the finest movies of 2007. Director Francis Lawrence’s extraordinary, computer-generated images of a decaying New York City reveal weeds growing through the cracks of familiar streets that are also overrun by deer and prowled by lions. It’s impossible not to be fascinated by such a realistically altered cityscape, reverting to a natural environment, through which Smith moves with a weirdly enviable freedom, offset by his wariness over whatever is lurking in the dark of bank vaults and parking garages. Lawrence and screenwriters Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman wisely build suspense by withholding images of the monsters until a peak sceneof horror well into the story. It must be said, however, that the computer-enhanced creatures don’t look half as interesting as they might have had the filmmakers adhered more to Matheson’s vampire-nightmare vision.I Am Legendis ultimately noteworthy for Smith’s remarkable performance as a man so lonely he talks to mannequins in the shops he frequents. The film’s latter half goes too far in portraying Smith’s Neville as a pitiable man with a messianic mission, but this lapse into bathos does nothing to take away from the visual and dramatic accomplishments of its first hour.--Tom Keogh

(AWESOME COLLECTORS ITEM)
『If your a fan of the original Transformers series this is truly a must have. This will help you take you back to the days of great animation. A true complete series.』

(great set but..)
『pretty annoyed that i preordered this and then a week after it got sent yo me they lowered the price by almost $20. Pretty dishonest from Amazon』

(Fantastic collection of childhood memories!)
『I'm a big Transformers fan but passed on the Kid Rhino dvd collection awhile back because of price and unecessary "adjustments" to the show. I had gotten two dvd packs of G.I. Joe from Kid Rhino previously and didn't like the changes at all, since they tend to distract rather than enhance the show. Shout Factory has provided an uncut and beautiful collection. There are only a couple negatives that I can find in these dvds.

First, the severe lack of extras dissappoints me greatly. There are extras, but not on a level that you'd expect from a full series release box set. Only a hand full of things are offered. What I was really excited about was the commercials and PSAs. Unfortunately there are only 4 commercials, and all of them are from the later years of Transformers (Headmasters, etc.) I'm very saddened that this is all they provide. By the way, there are 2 PSA's. I'm not sure why they decided to grant entirely separate sections for these 15 second clips. Again, very dissappointing.

Second, there are scenes that look brand spanking new (from the cleanup), then there are scenes that look aged and blurry. I didn't notice at first but there are a few episodes where the switch occurs every so often and becomes noticeable. I'm assuming these scenes were not available for repair when Shout Factory was putting together this set. However, a big positive is the audio. Sound was sometimes a problem during Hasbro cartoons, for example sound effects would be at whisper volume and were obvious mistakes. The audio, from the dozen episodes I've seen so far on these dvds, is fantastic. I'm not sure if Shout Factory fixed the problems or what but it's great.

Anyways, overall this is a fantastic set. It's all you really need if you're a fan of the show』

(Who would rate this below 5?)
『I bought this early in the summer directly from Shout Factory. This set completely outdoes the Rhino DVDs [Optimus Prime style]. YouTube user Zaranyzerak (who is an expert in DVDs and Transformers) will confirm just how fantastic a DVD set can be POSSIBLE. Keep in mind in post-production this series was mastered on video so expecting HD pristine picture will have to look elsewhere. A lot of people have complained about the price of this set. If you compare the price of all 5 Rhino sets new, factory sealed it will probably be around $300 minimum where the Shout Factory set is half of that ($150 if you can't do the math) and you do get better quality. This really is the definitive set of the Transformers. If you're a fan THIS IS IT!』

(Better than the Rhino releases, but still flawed)
『Despite being one of the most popular cartoons of the '80s, The Transformers has had an awful time on DVD. The initial DVDs of The Ultimate Doom (released alongside the then-rare "Rebirth" three-parter on single-disc DVDs) had a pressing error which resulted in a batch of the discs including the "Rebirth" three-parter instead. However, the problems really started when Rhino decided to remaster the series by going back to the original 35mm negatives. Those 35mm reels were incomplete, however: every re-take in the series was not present, forcing Rhino to insert the footage from whatever sources were available. Rhino, was not perfect, however, (far from it, in fact), and many scenes were left uncorrected, and others had poor attempts to digitally alter the 35mm footage to match the broadcast masters. The famous transition sequences even had to be re-inserted in the first four episodes, and a great many were of the incorrect type. Adding insult to injury, the new 5.1 sound mix had added effects, and a great number of episodes from the first two seasons did not have the unaltered audio available (and the company responsible, Magno Sound, lied to everyone about the new effects, even after fans identified sounds from Star Trek: The Next Generation, which first aired as The Transformers entered into the land of perpetual reruns).

So, now, leading up to the 25th Anniversary of the fabled animated series, Hasbro assigned home video rights to Shout! Factory, which promptly declared that they would be fixing Rhino's mistakes. The mono mix has returned, lightly stereo-ized but without Magno's alterations (though some episodes, such as The Ultimate Doom Part 3, have reverted from a stronger mix of the effects and music tracks of the Rhino DVDs to the muted mixes that were created in the '80s). And true to their word, Shout! has fixed may of the problems with the prior DVDs. However, there are still a great many errors present, especially in the first season (which was the most problematic of Rhino's releases).

Among the things that are still uncorrected:
-Incorrect transitions in the second and third parts of the "More Than Meets the Eye" three parter
-Rampant amounts of incorrect footage in the recaps and previews for many of the multipart episodes
-Numerous shots of missing snowfall in the opening scene of "Fire in the Sky"
-A handful of mis-framed shots in "Divide and Conquer" and "SOS Dinobots" (the former episode as the Autobots transform to meet Prime at the weapons factory, and during the battle with the mindless Dinobots in the latter episode)
-Starscream colored as Thundercracker at 15:33 of "Fire on the Mountain" and 2:15 of The Ultimate Doom Part 2
-The missing background as the Energon Cubes explode at the climax of The Ultimate Doom Part 3
-Rhino's digital tinkering to fix the 35mm footage of Wheeljack and his Shock Blast Cannon in "Heavy Metal War"
-Lava which moves *up* Megatron's face (and gets in his eye) in the last shot of "Heavy Metal War"
-The mis-titled title card for "The Master Builders" (titled "The Master Builder" on the DVD)
-The *correct* spelling of the word "Decepticon" in the title card of "A Deceptacon Raider in King Arthur's Court"
-Missing freeze-frames at the end of two episodes: "Auto Berserk" and "Revenge of Bruticus"
-Incorrect openings for all five parts of Season 3's "Five Face of Darkness": Only parts 3 and 5 have the correct video, and unlike the prior Rhino DVDs, the audio is from the normal opening in both parts.
-"Dark Awakening", which was altered so as to precede "The Return of Optimus Prime", features only the audio from the original airing (which did not feature Victor Caroli's famous narration). In this era of DVD branching, it seems a bit silly that both versions were not able to appear on the same disc (what with the historical significance of the alternate version).

To be fair, the episodes are much improved. "Heavy Metal War", rendered nearly unwatchable on the Rhino DVDs, has only 19 incorrect shots, which is a significant reduction (and many of the differences are rather subtle in those 19 shots). Other episodes with are even more successfully corrected, such as a few seconds of black on Rhino's "Desertion of the Dinobots" Part 1 and the upholding of "War Dawn's" notoriously slowed-down Act 2 (done to cover up the removal of the original-and far more gruesome-crippling of Orion Pax from the final episode). [EDIT: Further investigation by yours truly reveals that the second act of "War Dawn" is still played at the wrong speed-only the voices have been corrected.] Also, the extras are very good, featuring a great number of commercials, an excellent cast reunion, and a conversation with Bob Budiansky that's infinitely better at illustrating his importance to the series than the similar one with Larry Hama that's featured in Shout! Factory's G.I. Joe set. I do, however, find the lack of participation from David Wise (who was at least as important as Flint Dille and Earl Kress, who were re-interviewed for this set, to the series) a bit disconcerting. Also, due to Hasbro's orders, the running order for Season 3 does not match the running order on the packaging of the version of this set offered directly by Shout! Factory as of this writing. However, it is the continued insistence on using the flawed 35mm masters (and not the broadcast masters) that causes the greatest concern with this set, especially when broadcast masters are used on 5 episodes (Season 1's "Countdown to Extinction", Season 3's "The Burden Hardest to Bear", and all three parts of "The Rebirth"), just as they were on the Rhino DVDs, and they look pretty good for their age (and the inconsistency of Sunbow's telecine transfers). Until a more even-handed approach is taken, it's hard to recommend such an expensive DVD box set.』
