(Love Dragon Ball Z)
『I got this for christmas is an awsome dvd for my collection. I can't wait to get the next season.』

(Dragon Ball Z - Season Two (Namek / Captain Ginyu))
『I greatly enjoyed this product. Season Two in the Dragon Ball Z series, it's exactly what the buyer can expect when buying it. I know it was for me. A good show with great animations I am happy to have as part of my collection. I love forward to adding the third season next chance I have.』

(Reviewing Season 2 (NO SPOILERS!!!!!))
『This is a great season!
Here are some nonspoiler thing that will go on in this season!

How can there be more trouble!!?
Who is this ultimate tyrant!?
No hope, their no match!
He can't be strong enough!
What planet!!??
Where are the dragonballs!?

Haha, that's all I can say to make you hyper, unless you want spoilers....

-The thing I love the MOST about DB/Z/GT is that it is like a Christian show!!
Goku is the one who always leads everyone the correct way, He is the savior of the world! (Symbolic to God leading us the right way&being our Savior!)

Goku trains&helps his friends to become good fighters (Symbolic to God "training" us in His Word)

Goku trusts in his friends knowing they will do the right thing. (Symbolic to God trusting that His true followers will obey Him&go His way)

Goku always shows love&mercy even to his enemies&evil people. (Symbolic to God showing all us people, whom have broken His Perfect Law -The Ten Commandments- and yet He still gives us Mercy to flee from sin&follow Him)

Goku believes anyone can change their life from bad, to good. (Symbolic to fleeing from our sins&following the Will of God)

Goku was like a father, always protecting people from evil (Symbolic to how God protects us from evil&when the storms comes, He's still with us)

Everytime it seems hopeless&like evil will prevail&there is no way out, Goku is always there to help! (Symbolic to no matter how strong the temptation or urge is, God always provides a way out for us because He is with us)

When the Saiyans or other fighters feel like there is no hope, they go into a new level of strength (Symbolic to when you are weakest you are strongest)

Like with us when we feel we can't resist the temptation or do the Will of God, we still press on and reach a new level or strength.....haha, like a Spiritual Super Saiyan, being much stronger into&with God then we were before.

When the fighters are fighting&they feel there is no hope, someone else usually comes to the aid (Symbolic to God will never leave us&He always provides help)

DBZ is not only a great show but I look at it through a Christian sense, look at it as a Christian sense, it's symbolic, it'll make it 10x better! I know it did for me!』

(Another great season of DBZ!)
『Dragon Ball Z Season 2 naturally picks right off where Season 1 ended. Most of the features on this set haven't changed, so I'll just summarize them quickly. Picture looks great, widescreen crops a bit but it's minor, even full screen DBZ is cropped, audio comes in English with Japanese music in Surround, English with TV music in Stereo, and Japanese in Mono. No extra features except for alternative marathon play and a few trailers.

As for the story, this box set covers the Namek/Ginyu Force/Captain Ginyu Sagas and continues immediately where the Saiyan saga left off. Out of all of Earth's defenders only Krillin and the very young Gohan are able to travel to the planet Namek to collect a new set of dragon balls to restore their friends who died on Earth. Goku is the only other fighter left alive but his injuries prevent him from coming at first. Meanwhile Vegeta survives the final battle on the Earth and recovers quickly. He heads back out into space with the same objective, to collect the dragon balls to grant his wish.

After a group of rather boring episodes, the story kicks up once again as Krillin, Gohan, and Bulma all arrive on Namek at the same time as Vegeta and the Saiyan Prince's rival Cui. They also discover another being already on Namek who's power far exceeds even Vegeta. Things go from bad to worse. Vegeta's strength continues to grow as he takes out Freeza's elite soldiers one by one. Krillin and Gohan ally with a young Namek child who they saved from Freeza's wrath. In return this child, Dende, takes them to meet the leader of the Namekian race. All the while Vegeta manages to collect six of the seven Dragon Balls, stealing five right from under Freeza's nose. Krillin and Gohan collect the last Dragon Ball and get a power boost while they hide from Vegeta.

The Saiyan Prince finally finds the warriors from Earth when Freeza's most powerful warriors, the Ginyu Force, arrive. An unlikely alliance is formed between Vegeta and the Z-Fighters to battle the formidable Ginyu's. In the end they all lost, but Goku arrives at the last minute to save the day. Things get a little typical from here. Goku stomps out the entire Ginyu force, leaving only two members alive. After he outclasses them Captain Ginyu uses a really cheap body swap technique to steal Goku's body and drag the fight on to a slow, dreadful end. After all that, we're back where we started. Goku is too hurt to fight, and Vegeta must maintain his alliance with the Earthlings while they try to figure out how to get the Dragon Balls to work.

The story has it's high points and it's low points. The opening episodes are really slow and boring, and while the fighting between Vegeta and Freeza's men is all good, the finale leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth. The story is a lot more dynamic then what you typically get in DBZ. It's interesting to see all these different factions fighting over and trying to hid/steal the Dragon Balls. Vegeta brings a nice wild card element to the action, and proves himself to be a very cunning warrior as he outsmarts his enemies over and over again.

There's also some interesting notes about the audio. The beginning of the set is all new English dubbing to make up for the work that Funimation had never dubbed to this point. These new lines where substantially different from the previous dubbing and it also featured frequent swearing, which was new for the English version at this point. Unfortunately when Funimation catches up to it's original dub work, it leaves most of the audio as it originally was. The old background music comes back and sounds pretty horrible compared to the new music. While a handful of old characters continued to be redubbed for the sake of consistency (Vegeta, Krillin, Dende) many were never redubbed. For the most part this is inconsequential, but Funi was a very small company when they first dubbed these episodes and the voice actors weren't nearly as talented as they have since become. Roshi sounds like a really bad Elvis impersonator, for one. This would be a bigger problem in later box sets, but I'll talk about those issues later. It also means that while much of the dialog at the beginning of the set featured swearing, the second half features almost none.

Overall this set is an excellent purchase for any DBZ fan!

(GOOD)
『It was in way before it was supposed to be and was in excellent shape.... GOOD JOB!!!』
『"You won't believe how powerful it is now!" --NewType

Having suffered heavy losses in the battle with the Saiyans, and with Goku still recovering from his injuries, the remaining Z-Fighters must embark on a perilous journey to Planet Namek in search of the Namekian Dragon Balls. Unbeknownst to them, however, a powerful new enemy has set his sights on the same prize—the ruthless tyrant Frieza!

Beset on all sides by danger, Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma must fight for their lives as they struggle to keep the Dragon Balls from falling into evil hands. Meanwhile, Goku races against time to join his friends in their quest, but waiting for him on Planet Namek is an army of the most powerful villains the universe has ever known, led by Frieza’s most elite fighting unit—the unstoppable Ginyu Force!

Season Two contains:

  • the Complete Namek Saga - first time on DVD! and Captain Ginyu Saga
  • 35 Action-Packed Episodes on 6 discs
  • Booklet filled with episode summaries and character descriptions
  • Revised English Dialogue with Original Japanese Music』
『The second season of the wildly popularDragon Ball Zcomprises the "Namek" and "Captain Ginyu" sagas. Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma travel to the planet Namek to find an even more powerful set of Dragon Balls that can restore the lives of Tenshinhan, Yamucha, Chaozu and Piccolo, who were killed by Vegeta during the first season. (Their souls continue to train with King Kai in the Other World.) All is not well on Namek: the arch-villain Frieza, who looks and sounds a bit like Truman Capote, also desires the Dragon Balls. If he uses them to obtain eternal life, he'll rule the universe forever. With a cadre of lieutenants that includes Vegeta, he slaughters the Namekians to gain the supernatural orbs. After his injuries have been healed by a magic senzu bean, Goku heads to Namek. En route, he trains at 100 gravities, raising his powers enormously. Vegeta believes Goku may be the legendary Super Saiyan that appears once a millennium--except he lacks the requisite love of battle. This version of Goku is less aggressive, and he uncharacteristically uses his brain (never his greatest asset) to defeat Ginyu, Frieza's second-in-command. UnlikeSeason 1--Vegeta Saga,Season 2ends on a cliff-hanger. Skeptics may find Goku's adventures needlessly protracted, over the top, and even silly. But for millions of boys, they provide the special blend of comradeship, martial arts training, and take-no-prisoners battles they love. The newly remastered edition includes the original Japanese dialogue for the first time. (Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence, minor risqué humor, brief nudity, tobacco and alcohol use)--Charles Solomon

(A welcome return to Naruto... with somewhat poor video quality)
『I really enjoy Naruto and its a blast to finally see the new series hit US shores. I didn't mind the filler episodes finishing off the original series, but they do get old after a while when the story just sits at a stand-still. I would give the dvd set a five star rating except for one big issue. The video quality of the transfers is very poor in my opinion. No, I did not buy a bootleg. Its straignt from amazon.com. I have an HD tv and I play many standard anime dvds upconverted on it but this one has very washed out colors. I am not a video afficionado so I can't be very technical but it may be best to wait for the eventual bluray release of the series (no official word yet but I believe its coming). I really feel they could have done a better job. Even the old Naruto looks better than this in terms of color.』

(Totally expected more from VIZ Media)
『Hi, let me start by saying that this is my first DVD Box set of any anime in like 4 years, with that said let me state that I was expecting more from the video quality in these DVDs. The DVDs are regular DVDs (4.5 GB) the publisher could have used at least DL (double layer) DVDs and put more video quality in them. I watch Naruto Shippuden on the official site and I would say that the video quality streaming on the site is just as good as the video quality in these DVDs, I know where to get HD (720p) episodes online so why wouldn't they released the anime in better video quality?. Do not get me wrong, I love the Naruto Shippuden series and I'm glad we can finally get it in spoken English, but I was just expecting more from the video quality. So if you enjoy exceptional video quality and own an HD TV and a DB player or PS3, you will be better off waiting for the BD (blu-ray disc) release, if that ever happens. But why not, Claymore the Complete Series Box Set will be release on Blu-ray on February 16, to mention one. So hopefully in a not so distant future Naruto Shippeden will be released in BD also.』

    (13 Episodes?)
『I'mma keep it plain and simple for everyone who reads this. The Pro's are: Good Box Art, Original&Uncut, you can throw on the Japanese audio with the English subtitles too. My only Con is: Only 13 Episodes? I thought season 1 was 52 episodes? They should've waited and not try to make a quick dollar. Besides that everything else is good...I think ppl should wait til after episode 52 is released on tv then see what happens from there, maybe they will come out with a full season 1 box, but then again this isn't Yu Yu Hakusho where 1 season worth of episodes are perfectly in one box for you to enjoy. But this is good too i guess.』

    (Very Nice Set)
『I pre-ordered Shippuden after not buying any of the filler box sets. And was hoping that the 3 disc format would change with the new series, sadly it did not, and there are still 3 discs per box, but this is fine enough.

The box is styled in a new way, instead of folding out, it has slim disc cases. At first this annoyed me, but when I saw each disc has the original Japanese cover art I was very pleased (much better than the individual disc art). The options are all there, bilingual, subs and dubs. With much more interesting bonus features than any of the original series. It actually has a voice actor featurette, much to my surprise. In all, this is very satisfying, and I hope they release the next one soon, as I will buy it as well.

I suggest this to anyone who wants to see Naruto Shippuden, but doesn't want the Disney XD edited version.』

    (Good Job Viz)
『I usually don't make a point to review an item unless I feel really strongly about it. However, with this release I felt it necessary to say how impressed I was with Viz's packaging. Not only did they add in the little extras that the Japanese releases like to sneak in at the end of the credits, they also included one of the nicer VA featurettes I've seen, staring Malie Flanagan-Naruto, Kate Higgins-Sakura, Dave Whittenberg-Kashshi and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn-veteran VA and director. The chibi Naruto that was packaged with the Special Edition was very cute too... now give us a Kakashi and Itachi! OK, and besides all of that, Naruto Shippuden is a much better, more in depth and mature story than it's predecessor. Highly recommended to anyone hesitant because of the (bad) filler laden Nartuo (first series).』
『Naruto Uzumaki is back! After two and a half years of training on the road with Jiraiya of the Sannin, Naruto is back in the Village Hidden in the Leaves, and he's ready to show off his new skills. He and Sakura team up to take on their old master Kakashi, who's pretty impressed with their progress. They'll have plenty of opportunity to put it into action when news arrives from the Sand Village that Gaara, Naruto's former rival and now Kazekage of the Sand, has been kidnapped! And the culprits are the very same group who are after Naruto--the Akatsuki!』
『One of the most eagerly anticipated anime releases in years,Naruto Shippuden(2007) is the follow-up to the international hitNaruto. Two and a half years have passed since the first series ended: the title character has been redesigned to appear taller and less round faced, as a teenager should. Although he learned a lot of new skills from Jiraiya and might have matured a little, Naruto remains the irrepressible, ramen-slurping knucklehead audiences know and love. He and medical ninja Sakura join their former teacher Kakashi-sensei as a team to combat the Akatsuki, a confederation of outlaw ninja once associated with Orochimaru. The first target of the Akatsuki is the Village Hidden in the Sand. Gaara, who fights with clouds of magical sand, takes on Deidara, who fashions weapons from enchanted paper and clay; Sand Village lieutenant Kankuro duels the scorpionlike Sasori using complex, jointed puppets.Naruto Shippudenboasts more elaborate CG effects thanNaruto, enabling director Hayato Date to pump up the action. But these battles also reveal how completely Naruto transformed an icy assassin into an admirable leader: Gaara allows himself to be captured to protect the people of his village. While Naruto fidgets and fusses, Granny Chiyo reveals what the Akatsuki are seeking. Nine extremely powerful tailed demons exist in the ninja world: the single-tailed demon is sealed within Gaara's body, the Nine-Tailed Fox in Naruto's. Chiyo warns that these demons wield far more power than anyone can be allowed to control. Meanwhile, the Akatsuki begin drawing the demon's chakra from Gaara's body. Help is on the way: Team Kakashi, aided by Chiyo and Temari from the Sand Village, square off against Sosuke's murderous brother, Itachi, while Team Guy (Guy-sensei, Tenten, Neji, and the perpetually upbeat Rock Lee) tackle Kisame, who fights with enchanted cascades of water. Can they reach Gaara in time? AlthoughNaruto Shippudendraws a lot of its audience from fans ofNaruto, it's exciting and entertaining enough to win viewers who don't know the original series. 『Cowboy Bebop is a futuristic story about bounty hunters in Space. This is a great story very entertaining with a perplexing but great ending. You will enjoy every minute of this series because there is never a dull moment. I strongly recommend this story to the fans of futuristic stories, laid back characters and the lovers of good detective stories. If you are unsure about buying this product, you will not be disappointed if you do so. The presentation is great because the six DVD's come in a single DVD box (it takes up the space of two regular DVD boxes if you are worried about size). The price is a great bargain. I have watched this series two times, and both times got blown away by this great constructed story. The only thing I wish is for Cowboy Bebop to be released on Blueray. Standard definition does not do enough justice to the artistry of this amazing anime.

Note: I watch a YouTube review of this series, and the reviewer pointed out that all anime box sets with the tag line Anime Legends come in a similar box like this set.』

    (The distillation of cool)
『Before it was a household word for anime and animation fans, "Bebop" referred to a style of fast-paced Jazz marked by virtuoso performances. If you've ever heard of Charlie Parker or Thelonius Monk, they were Bebop gods in their own time. Bebop had a cool, smooth and devil-may-care attitude which still permeates Jazz culture to this day.
Cowboy Bebop takes that atmosphere and runs with it. The story of a ragtag crew of free agents who shuttle around from planet to planet in their ship bounty-hunting is the antithesis of the stodgy Star Trek type of prime directives and military chains of command. There are no captains and no aliens, only a human society in shambles with people living in a frontier of solar-system width here and there in small pockets of humanity.
The series is all about grand gestures and the character archetypes are not deconstructed too much but rather played straight. Other than in the final run of episodes, when they are confronted with the unpleasant feelings the lifestyle they are driven to pursue gives rise to (a lack of attachment to life leading to loneliness seems to be a common theme), the anime is all about cool encounters. Secondary characters are mostly stereotypes, which makes the story suffer in a few points (Gren comes to mind) and don't get much development.
Unlike pretty much any other anime, one of the main calling cards of "Bebop" is its music. Composed and played by a Yoko Kanno outfit called "The Seatbelts" (a band both in real life and in-universe) it is a blend of many styles. From the urgent and syncopated opening song "Tank!", the jazzy-sax-meets-Deep-Forest "Space Lion", the Morricone-inspired mock-cowboy themes to the adult rock anthems "The real folk blues", "Blue" and "Call me, call me". The music is cool, atmospheric and played with gusto, full of grand gestures like the anime itself. Small wonder fans of this series cannot divorce the music from the animation or the plot as it's a vibrant, coherent whole.

To sum it up, this is something that no anime fan should skip as it will probably stay with you for a while. For those unacquainted with anime, Cowboy Bebop will be a great start.』

    (The Definitive Anime Series)
『I'm as jaded an anime fan as they come. Even though I'm only sixteen, I've spent thousands of hours pouring over manga,
anime and other things related to the culture of those two. My room is covered in wallscrolls, 500+ volumes of manga, etc.
So, believe me when I say that "Cowboy Bebop" is the single greatest anime series I have ever seen. In fact, it may be
the best anime series any studio will ever produce.

Produced by Sunrise (yes, the "Gundam" people), "Bebop" follows a ragtag group of intergalactic bounty hunters as they
hunt down bounty heads in order to buy food. The group consists of tormented former gangster Spike, level-headed badass Jet, gold-digging vixen Faye, and the brilliant tech-girl Ed, along with a data-dog (it makes sense when you watch it) named Ein.

And... and well, that's about it.

This may seem like a very basic plot, but nothing could be further from the truth. Through the twenty-six episode span of the show, we learn more about each character, Spike in particular. Everything from his estranged brother Vicious to his near-fatal relationship with blond bombshell Julia combine to form Spike's conflicted, troubled past. This past, filled with bloodshed and tears, is one that catches up to Spike and culminates in the brilliant two-part climax. The narrative choices are some that many anime fans still discuss today, and the final scene is one that will spark a debate among many a series devotee.

As if the well-written plot wasn't enough, though, Sunrise went the extra mile with this one. Yoko Kanno's score is among the best (if not THE best) in any anime, and the voice actors, especially in the English dub, fit each character perfectly. The animation is also magnificent, still holding up to today's new, computer-candy-coated releases.

As for the box itself, it's a pretty sweet deal. These are the Remix episodes, so you get retouched animation (not altered, mind you, just clarified) and a new 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound audio track. The special features are many, and definitely will keep you entertained for a few extra hours. The case is very attractive, too, with a shiny black-silver-and-red gleam to it.

Usually, I would put my complaints here, but to be quite honest.... I have none.

"Bebop" is one of the shows that everybody, not just anime fans, should watch at least once. Filled with compelling characters, crazy but believable plots, and a twist ending that is as infuriating as it is poetic, Sunrise's space epic is one that must be seen to be believed.』

    (Pure Awesomeness)
『Cowboy Bebop is one of the best anime series I have watched, If not the best. It is an excellent choice for longtime anime fans or newcomers alike. Its gritty, film noir feel makes it very accessible to western audiences, I think. The animation is excellent and the American voicework is spectacular. This is one of the few amines where dub beats out sub hands-down. It is well-translated and feels very natural - another reason American anime virgins might want to give this series a try. Plus, the voices are just COOL. The writing is both funny and emotionally engaging. You will really start to care about these characters. Fans of Joss Whedon's Firefly will start to feel at home in this universe very quickly, I think. Lastly, I can't talk about this series without praising Yoko Kano's AMAZING soundtrack. The music of this series will rock your world. It sets the mood, laying the background and harmonizing the elements of this show, which taken as a whole, is a remarkable work of art.』

(Best. Anime series. EVER. "Remixed" in 5.1 sound.)
『I have never seen any anime show or movie as good or as cool as this. The english voice acting is the best in the industry, ever. If your new to anime and watch this first, as I did, it will spoil you for almost everything else out there.

As for this set, it's a good simple set. Not too many extras but considering how much it once cost to get this show on DVD, it's a great deal. It has a decent plastic case but it's way thicker than it needs to be for six discs. There's also no book of any kind to give a basic description of each episode. Still, you can't get much better than this.』

『The crew of the Bebop is once again ready to take control of space, bringing bad guys to justice and trying to make some cash while doing it. Join the always cool Spike, investigative genius Jet, the fabulous Faye, the amazing (but weird) Ed and the super-smart Welsh Corgi named Ein as they try to make a buck in the year 2071. How do they do it? They re bounty hunters. But then again, you probably wouldn t be reading this if you didn t already know that...Now, for the first time in North America the entire Cowboy Bebop Remix series in one package!!!』

(Just love this series, i have watch it over and over)
『When i get this series via netflix, and watch it over and over, i knew then that if this anime series comes out, i would definitely purchase this and would look forward to new series that will come out, A must have imo for anime fan, especially who likes strong female characters who can kick monsters yomas-butt.』

    (Love it)
『I've seen many anime series in my time and this is by far one of the best. It ranks up there with Twelve Kingdoms, Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach and Deathnote. Highly recommend esp. if you like watching female warriors kick ass! The manga is still being written so read that if need your fix after completing the series.』

    (Can't wait for the blu-ray...)
『I watched this entire series on DVD via Netflix, and absolutely loved it. I held off on actually buying it, though, with the hopes that a blu-ray version would stroll along. And whattaya know, here it is. The animation quality on this series is already fantastic, and I can't wait to see it in HD (though, as always, it's questionable just how much cel animation can be enlivened by high definition).

A couple of general notes about the series:

    1. It's ultra-violent and not very hopeful, so otaku parents, be aware before you show your kids (though I will say it could be quite empowering for young girls).

    2. If you enjoy this, try Berserk. The story and characters are way different, but the dark medieval fantasy environment is the same (still need that on blu-ray, though...).

    3. Funimation, as always, does an excellent job with the english dub, but the original japanese is still superior.

    4. If you've finished watching all the anime episodes and found yourself loving it and wanting more, you need to start reading the manga series it's based on, starting with volume 11. Why? The anime adapts the first 10-and-a-half volumes of the manga quite thoroughly. However, it features an alternate ending in the final episode that never happened in the manga. The second half of volume 11 picks up at that point. In fact, the series is still ongoing in Japan, so there's quite a bit more story to go. Hopefully, it will all be adapted to anime, and turn out as well as this excellent collection.』

『A brutal scourge stalks the land. Yoma, monsters driven by a hunger satisfied by only one quarry– Humanity. The dark breed knows but a singular foe: Claymore. Human-Yoma hybrids of extraordinary strength and cunning, the Claymores roam from skirmish to skirmish delivering salvation by the edge of a blade.

Thus begins the twisting tale of Clare, one such sister of the sword driven by pain in both victory and defeat. A child silent and suffering hidden in her past, Clare’s march toward vengeance unfolds along a path marked by violence, solitude and scorn. In a land where even the predator is prey, the haunted hearts of hunter and hunted alike wear the scars of the age.』

I absolutely hate subtitles. Its not that I am lazy its just I wanna watch the show and not wear my glasses so I can quickly try to figure out what they are saying. I give the show 5 star but I dont give this box set more then 1 star as long as it not in english』

    (overpriced!!!)
『first of all, bleach is awesome, but they are milking people of their money
the first 3 seasons contained from 20 to 22 episodes the number of episodes has been decreasing yet they charge people the same amount, season 4, part 2 only contains 12 episodes and it looks like season 11 will contain less than 10』

    (Bount Battles, take two)
『Ichigo and his friends have been fighting the Bounts on and off, while trying to keep them from capturing Uryu. Bu the battle becomes a lot more intense in "Bleach Uncut Box Set: Season 4, Part 2" -- this collection brings together the last twelve episodes of the hit anime's first filler arc. It's top-heavy on the action, with loads of freaky dolls, flashy swordfights and enjoyably freaky villains... as well as fewer flashbacks.

The mysterious new dolls -- called "bitto"-- have started sucking the souls from living humans (and yes, I do love that phrase), which increases the Bounts' powers but also acts like a drug to their bodies and minds. When Kariya unleashes them on Karakura's population, Ichigo and his friends charge out to save the day, but quickly find themselves outmatched by the juiced-up Bounts and their dolls. But they have some unexpected allies -- a quartet of Soul Reaper lieutenants have arrived to help them drive back the Bounts.

While Ichigo's little gang recuperates from their fights, Yumichika has discovered the location of the Bounts' hideout, and the four Soul Reaper officers head inside. Obviously things go wrong for them, or this arc would end pretty quickly. Specifically, they run afoul of the bespectacled Ugaki, whose doll turns shadows into deadly weapons, eyeballs and giant hands. When Ichigo and Co. arrive, they are attacked by the same tactics.

In the meantime, Uryu encounters a Soul Reaper from the previous arcs -- Nemu Kurotsuchi, who has come there to give him a very special item that may provide some temporary help in his current trouble. And Ichigo has some shocking discoveries of his own when he finds and attacks the souped-up Kariya -- he learns the true origins of the Bount, and what their ultimate goal is.

While the first half of the Bount Arc was all about introducing the Bounts, the second half is all about the fighting -- our heroes are assaulted by shadow hands, flying eyeballs, dimension-swimming whales, metal spiders, malevolent flowers, ropy tentacles, and occasionally The Pizza Cutter From Hell. It all builds up gradually to a genuinely shocking climax... which is pretty obviously a lead-in for ANOTHER filler arc.

Fortunately this collection doesn't have just action. The writers also wove in some comedy ("FEEL THE POWER OF JUSTICE!" Ichigo bellows when using a magic headband, right before it slams him into a chainlink fence), some mild horror (people turning into dust), and the occasional warm'n'fuzzy moment. And with the advent of the Bounts' soul martinis, they become a LOT more impressive as villains -- now they're not just soul vampires, but crazy hopped-up junkie soul vampires.

The biggest problems: Koga's long, boring flashback about his protege (who is never mentioned again), and one character does something INSANELY contrived at the end of the arc, which is also uncharacteristically selfish, stupid and short-sighted. Even more bizarre, all the characters instantly forgive him.

And Ichigo and his amazing abs has some new problems to struggle with -- his handicapped bankai and his bloodthirsty hollow side. What's more, his devotion to his friends is illustrated when Keigo is attacked by a bitto. Uryu's feelings of helplessness reach a peak when he returns to the place where he previously trained, and we see just how strong the friendship between Rukia and Orihime is.... even if it is a bit too Saved By The Warm'n'Fuzzy Powers of Love.

The Bount arc may be over, but the story of their fight with the Soul Reapers obviously isn't. "Bleach Uncut Box Set: Season 4, Part 2" is a solid filler collection with some flaws, but plenty of slam-bang action and solid writing.』

『The battle against the evil Bounts grows wider and fiercer as Ichigo and friends, reinforced by a group of Soul Reapers, try to take the fight to their hideout. But the Bounts have many tricks up their sleeves, and it looks like certain defeat for Ichigo and his comrades. Uryu, who had lost his Quincy powers, is the key to the Bount leader Kariya’s plans for revenge against the Soul Society, as well as the key to his defeat. Will Uryu be able to regain his powers in time to save his friends?』

The special edition comes with a collectible plastic mini-ninja figure of Naruto, the first in a series of four. (good old school anime)
『Great box set. Great choice on box picture. if your a fan of any of the dragon ball z series this is a must have in your collection. i love it』

    (Great movie!)
『The movie shipped very fast, however, the UPS person left the package in the rain. Even though it was not their fault, Amazon replaced it for me. Great thing is, they had a new copy to me the next day. Thank you Amazon! New product is fantastic. Five Stars for Amazon.』

    (Dragon Ball Season 2)
『This movies is excellent. I would love to watch it over and over again.』

(Wow! DB Season 2 (NO SPOILERS!!!!!!))
『Wow, season 2! It really starts to get good here!
Haha, Goku and Krillin are such a great team! But, an army is after Goku and he has to fight or run...but he's only a little kid!! Strong little kid, but still a kid. I think he might meet his match, unless he goes to the tower!!
Like I said before, if your more into the impact then this is not really for you, if you want to know the origin&the little other details then this is awesome for you!

    (DB Season 2 Review)
『No complaints. All the episodes are there in good quality. Recommended to any DB fan』
『The search for the seven magic balls continues!

After meeting his match in the World Martial Arts Tournament, Goku embarks on a mission to recover the Four Star Dragon Ball that once belonged to his grandfather. His treacherous quest will take him from the terrifying heights of Muscle Tower to the darkest depths of the deep blue sea. But with the Flying Nimbus under his feet and Bulma’s Dragon Radar leading the way – there’s nothing mighty Goku can’t handle.

With a dangerous new adversary out to get him, this will be Goku’s most dangerous adventure yet. The sinister Red Ribbon Army, led by cigar-chomping Commander Red, is determined to seize the seven Dragon Balls and use them to conquer the world! Watch as colonels, generals, ninjas, android pirates, and giant pink monsters use every dirty trick in the book to stop Goku from getting his hands on the magic Dragon Balls!

Enjoy the next chapter in the saga of this legendary warrior with Dragon Ball: Season Two!』
『The second season of the hit fantasyDragon Ballconcludes the story line involving pint-sized Emperor Pilaf and focuses on Goku's battles with the nasty officers of the Red Ribbon Army. The evil General Red wants the magic Dragon Balls to make him ruler of the world; Goku wants the Four Star Ball as a souvenir of his adoptive grandfather, who owned it. Chuckling merrily as he goes from battle to battle, the irrepressible Goku dispatches the minions of General White in Muscle Tower and befriends android Number Eight (whose appearance and kindly demeanor may remind American viewers ofMilton the Monster). After a visit to Bulma, Goku tackles effete General Blue and a robot pirate on a hidden island. Season 2 ends as Goku challenges Korin, the cat who controls magical, strength-giving water atop a precipitous tower. Goku needs the water to grow stronger and defeat assassin Tao Pai Pai, who murdered his friend Oopa's father, Bora.

Although Goku's adventures will delight legions of fans, these episodes include some of the most egregious stereotypes in theDragon Ballfranchise: Oopa and Bora are clichéd American Indians in war paint and feathers, while General Blue minces and swishes (his dialogue in the subtitles is quite offensive). Parts of the episodes set at Muscle Tower were recut into the fourthDragon Ballmovie,The Path to Power(Saikyou e no Michi, 1996), also known as "The Way to Become the Strongest." Rated TV 14, but appropriate for ages 12 and up: nudity, risqué and toilet humor, cartoon violence, ethnic stereotypes, alcohol and tobacco use).--Charles Solomon

    (Rin)
『Good anime, I expected more mature content due to the hype about this series. but still good』

(A Horror Anime Entry Unlike Any Other)
『I like to consider myself an anime connoisseur and shy away from paying too much attention to specific genres (despite a penchant for mecha) figuring there's almost something enduring in anime regardless of the subject matter. That said, and even going in open minded, RIN Daughters of Mnemosyne is a virtual flood of plot threads and style cues with emphasis on gore and torture sequences. Before we get into all of that, let's take a look at the hard facts of this, the first official North American release of the property.

Released across two discs, RIN Daughters of Mnemosyne comes packaged as a pair of thin packs within an outer cardboard slipcase and consists of nearly six solid hours of episode runtime (with many additional special features). The show comes in at a total runtime of 270 minutes and wears an appropriate TV MA (mature, 17+) rating due to animated violence, some rough language, gore, and a whole lot of horror.

Language options are standard sub&dub with both an English dub and original Japanese soundtrack (either in Dolby 5.1 Digital Surround)&the choice of English subtitled if so inclined to turn them on.

Extras include a commentary by the English Cast&Staff, Promotional Videos, Japanese Cast Interview, textless opening and closing songs, and a host of fresh Funimation trailers on the second disc.

The story, which really goes beyond simple classification, goes something like this: Hermaphroditic immortal APOS has an insatiable appetite for the memories stored within Rin Asôgi; a professional and curvy human woman who it turns out is actually several millennium old. Aside from a love of vodka, Rin makes her living working as a private detective with priority on solving some of the mysteries behind her own twisted existence.

It turns out that Rin is more than even she realizes (as the death of her body results in her temporarily losing her memory, sometimes for dozens of years). Her long-term memories are kept in tact due to the fact that a "time spore", which effectively made her immortal, unable to age, and capable of surviving and regenerating from normally-fatal amounts of bodily damage, long ago infested her physical being.

Despite no concept of mortal beings and our struggles, APOS is just merciless in his/her definition of amusement, which includes the graphic and prolonged disassembly of the body for the purpose of understanding/ enjoyment in the process of suffering.

In case you aren't following along, this is some truly bizarre material laced with graphic torture sequences, lesbian sex acts, and some truly unique mythological elements (for example APOS is actually trying to bend the rules of his/her own existence by offering the immortal Rin as a sacrifice to Yggdrasil (the Tree of All Life), so as to become the eternal Guardian of the Tree; a position of great power and honor among the immortals/angels).

So just how does the show go about putting all of this strangeness into sequence? The answer is through a series of horrific vignettes spanning a sixty-five year period where Rin's flesh is sadistically pierced, blown up, shattered, ripped apart and just plain tortured time and time again.

It's a bit rough to endure even with the realization that this is after all, merely animated art (you may find yourself repeating something to the effect of "this is only anime, no humans were harmed in the making of this series" like a mantra during some of the prolonged sequences). I would love to come on here and put the show down for this reason alone but am forced to respect the prose, for better or for worse, in its ability to weave its tale. After all, what is anime if not a medium designed to tell fantastical stories with un-cartoon-like realism? So long as the viewer goes in expecting grotesque and erotic visuals, it's unfair for critics to fault the program for these same traits.

Compared to earlier import efforts, the official FUNimation release does an amazing job with the vocals. Colleen Clinkenbeard does a bang-up job as lead-antagonist Rin and Todd Haberkorn's portrayal of the twisted APOS leaves little to be desired. That said, the nod may still go to enjoying the series with the original Japanese dialog work simply on account of the fact that the dark and disturbing visuals simply feel a little less bizarre in their native delivery. Either language choice is quite rewarding.

In all, I won't kid you into believing that this is my kind of anime. I prefer the existentialistic tones of RahXephon or the subliminal impact of Evangelion to the graphic horror elements of RIN, but that isn't to say I can't appreciate the material for its truly unique vision and solid delivery used in making its point. So long as you enjoy your anime dark, gritty, graphic, and violent, there is much to be excited about here.』

(ero-guro (horror) with a supernatural twist...)
『RIN: Daughters of Mnemosyne (Mnemosyne: Munemoshune no Musumetachi) is a horror/mystery six-episode TV anime produced by Xebec (Production IG subsidiary)/Genco (Azumanga Daioh). It was developed to commemorate the 10th year AT-X network which is a satellite network for TV Tokyo.

OK, so should you get this? That depends. In themes it is definitely ero-guro. What does this mean? Ero Guro Nansensu (Ero guro) is a Japanese art movement that started in the 20's and 30's that emphasized the "grotesque." Think Kafka. There is always a lot of erotic imagery, sexual corruption and moral decadence. It doesn't just mean straight-up "gore" it is more about frightening imagery with unnatural, supernatural and horrific stuff. Like turning into a giant insect in the Metamorphosis of Kafka. Its not necessarily violent, graphic or sexual, but it does tend to be this way sometimes...which is the case here more or less.

This series has a lot of violent action and murders in a near future Tokyo...and also some yuri stuff...the lead investigator Rin is an immortal detective or something like that. The animation is top notch, but it is a shorter series so that is kind of to be expected and it is done by a decent studio (Xebec worked on Noein).

Just be sure you are ready for some torture, violence imagery and you might be into this. The themes about immortality and the supernatural make it worth watching, but not if you don't like gore or grotesque imagery.

Its kind of reminiscent of Sola, in the supernatural vibe, but absolutely nothing like it because of the violence and dark vision...I preferred Sola to tell you the truth. I think it is better directed. But this isn't bad either (4 stars), just go in knowing what to expect...I don't regret watching it and the dark themes give it an edge...

I imported this, so I can't say what the US release will be like...I am sure Funi will do a good job, they almost always do...

There is a light novel and a manga of this also, not sure if either of these are available here yet...』

    (Possible marketing error...)
『On the website it says the story is told in 6 hours, but the run time listed here is 300 minutes, which is only 5 hours. May need further investigation before purchase.』
    『It Only Hurts Forever....

Rin Asogi is an immortal private detective with a thirst for vodka and a talent for attracting things that go bump in the night. In a series of nightmarish vignettes spanning sixty-five years, Rin’s lush body is sadistically pierced, blown up, and mulched to a bloody pulp. The fiend behind her tortured existence is Apos, an eternal being obsessed with sacrificing Rin to Yggdrasil, the tree of all life. While Rin struggles to unravel the secrets of her endless agony, Apos lurks in the shadows, eager to tear into her ripe body and devour the memories of her countless lives. Rin’s no stranger to the realm of the dead, but her next visit could last forever.』
『Although it incorporates a lot of up-to-date CG effects, the violent fantasyRin: Daughter of Mnemosyne(2008) feels older than it is. The story elements lifted from earlier series ranging fromAh! My GoddesstoXcontribute to the passé tone. Having ingested a "time fruit" produced by Yggdrasil (the tree of creation in Norse mythology), Rin, the voluptuous title character, is immortal--and she proves it by dying and coming back with a frequency Shirley MacLaine might envy. Assisted by her equally deathless sidekick Mimi, Rin pursues mysteries and malefactors that invariably involve the eerie Apos, the murderous immortal/cyborg Sayara, and various members of the Maeno family. All the evil schemes and feats of derring-do provide opportunities for a lot of fan-service nudity and grotesque violence.Rinfeels like a throwback to the sadistic misogyny ofWicked CityandDemon City Shinjuku: Rin, Mimi, and the secondary female characters are subjected to assaults that range from mutilation and torture to being simultaneously raped and devoured by male angels. Although the subtitle refers to Mnemosyne, the personification of memory in Greek mythology,Rinis better forgotten. (Rated TV MA: suitable for ages 18 and over: nudity, profanity, grotesque imagery, alcohol use, violence, violence against women, cannibalism, torture, and sexual situations, including lesbianism and bondage)--Charles Solomon

    (Christian Super Saiyan!!!)
『I absolutely love this season of DBZ!
This is the first time you see SS3 Goku!
    First time you see Gotenks!
    First time Vegeta gets controlled!
Second time, in a long time that Goku&Vegeta face off!
First time you see Buu having a good side!
First time Vegeta cares for others than himself!
First time Goten&Trunks try to face off Buu with Vegeta!!
This season is the most awesome season! I don't know which is better from DBZ, season 8 or 9!!

-The thing I love the MOST about DB/Z/GT is that it is like a Christian show!!

(One of the Best Seasons Ever!!)
『Season eight is the continuatin of season seven and one of the best ever!! The action is unbelievable and there are plenty of great new characters, like Dabura. There are plenty of new concepts for this season, such as bad ass super saiyan three and fusion ( I love Gotenks as well!!). However, by far the most compelling thing in this season is Vegeta's role in the story. The saiyan prince returns to his evil roots here and the emotion evoked in his scenes are excellent. He truly is my favorite character and that of many other fans' of the long and beloved series. The Goku vs. Vegeta fight may be one of the best in all of DragonBall Z history!!』

    (Amazing "DragonBall Z" boxset!)
『I've been a diehard "DragonBall Z", "DragonBall GT", and "DragonBall" fan ever since I was six years old and I love this DVD boxset! Continuing from where Season Seven(The Great Saiyaman and World Tournament Sagas) left off, Spopovitch and Yamu go to Babidi's Spaceship, with the good guys flying after them, and give Babidi, another one of my favorite villains from the series, the energy that they collected that's being used to revive Babidi's father's, Bibidi's (another of my favorite villains from the series, that doesn't make his debut 'til the flashback in the "End of Earth" episode in the final boxset) monster, Majin Buu (another villain that I like), and the good guys eventually learn about this and try to stop Babidi from reviving him. Throughout the sagas, the good guys fight against Babidi's henchmen, Pui Pui, Yakon, and Dabura in his ship in order to get to him and Buu's egg, Majin Buu gets revived and fights against the good guys, Vegeta gets killed by Majin Buu and eventually gets revived, Buu kills Babidi, and Buu meets Hercule and decides to not be evil, leading up to the final boxset where that changes entirely. There are so many new characters that are in the Babidi and Majin Buu sagas, such as Babidi, the worm/rat/roach-like Majin wizard, his father, Bibidi, who was also a Majin wizard, and Majin Buu, the childlike, bubblegum-like monster (all three of their names, Bibidi, Babidi, and Buu, parody/are a reference to the song in "Disney's" "Cinderella"), Dabura the demon king (whose name is a parody/is a reference to abracadabra, a magic-related phrase), Pui-Pui, Babidi's Voon-jin henchman, Yakon, Babidi's dark monster henchman that eats light, and the Supreme Kai, and many others. You get all the episodes from Season Eight (Babidi Saga and Majin Buu Saga combined), such as when Babidi revives Majin Buu, when Majin Buu fights against the good guys, when Majin Buu turns Dabura into a giant cookie and eats him, when Majin Buu kills Vegeta, and the cliffhanger ending to the Majin Buu Saga. The only things that I miss from the boxset are that there's no scene selection feature and the American music Bruce Faulconer made isn't there, but the show is still amazing! I love this boxset and I can't wait to get the rest of the "DragonBall Z", "DragonBall GT", and "DragonBall" boxsets that I don't have yet!』

(Why does this show suck so bad? One possible explanation)
『This is one of the worst shows I have ever seen. Now, everyone knows that Japanese culture is inferior, so I attributed the stupidity of these shows to some Japanese cultural flaw. That made sense to me. Since Japan was isolated from the rest of the world for thousands of years, they developed a lot of.....interesting..... ideas. For instance, had they shared technology and findings with the rest of the world, they might have discovered that having teacups without handles is not a very good idea. Tea is intended to be hot. China conducts heat. NOT a good idea. The British figured this out and did the simple thing of putting handles on their teacups, but NOT the Japanese. Nooo, they're too good for fancy handles! Similarly, they eat with sticks despite the fact that much simpler ways have been discovered for instance A FORK. But no. The Japanese couldn't figure this one out either.

It makes no sense? Why would they make such horrible shows? Not many people know this but when the Japanese adopted their new constitution in 1946, a proviso was added stating that any fictitious character created needed to be able to transform into a robot which later combined with other robots to form a giant super-robot. This strange trend in Japanese fiction now made sense to me. However, their shoddy animation still defied explanation.

The animation is terrible. It features characters with strange looking eyes that talk by simply opening their mouths. Their hair is all pointy like the statue of liberty (even though they're not even American) and their eyes are all big and stuff. Then they have this weird swooshy stuff in the background and they're constantly fighting with one another. Why does every Japanese cartoon have constant fighting and no storyline? Stupid Japan, they don't even have a military. Why train their children to be overtly violent? Or maybe that's why they do it... because since they can't do anything cool in real life they need to do it in stupid cartoons to get it out of their system. Whatever it is, we need to stop importing this crap.』

    (good)
『this is where the action starts to heat up for the final battle

this is a great collection of episodes

this is a must have for any dbz fan』

『The forces of good and evil have converged upon the planet Earth, and the fate of the universe hangs in the balance! The evil wizard Babidi has traveled across the galaxy on a quest for revenge, hoping to fulfill his father’s thwarted dreams of universal domination. Meanwhile, the Supreme Kai has come to enlist the aid of the Z-Fighters in an effort to prevent Babidi from completing his plans and awakening a monster of unimaginable terror—Majin Buu!

As Goku and the Z-Fighters descend into Babidi’s lair, they are confronted by an army of powerful minions, led by the Demon King Dabura himself! Can our heroes resist the wizard’s dark magic and battle their way through this host of villains before time runs out? With each passing second, more energy is gathered for the sleeping Majin Buu.And should this creature of pure evil be awakened, all life—everywhere—will be extinguished!

    (Waiting For Season Four)
『I already saw these episodes from the discontinued set. I'm waiting for two Piccolo arcs to drop before I buy any of these though since those are the stories I left off on. This series is great though, IMHO Dragon Ball is better than Dragon Ball Z. It has a better story and features actual adventure not just happenings that revolve around one major boss fight.

Anyway, I truly recommend this series to anyone that likes the fights of Dragon Ball but wish the character development and story was better.』

    (Dragon Ball: Season Three)
『Thank You Funimation! Another 31 episodes for our delight. For this box set, Master Roshi is on the cover and I think it's a good choice. As another reviewer stated, this has the rest of the Commander Red saga, the complete Fortuneteller Baba saga and some of the Tien Shinhan saga and there will probably be two more box sets to come! Hopefully we don't have to wait long for them!』

(Keep 'em coming! I'm McLovin' these releases!)
『Dragon Ball is an amazing series. While Dragon Ball Z is the more famous anime series because of all its super battles, Dragon Ball is actually a little bit more enjoyable because of its light-hearted humor mixed with more traditional fight scenes. With Dragon Ball FUNimation is releasing the series in an amazing and affordable format. These releases are much better handled than the Dragon Ball Z releases being that they are not cropped and the original opening and closing themes are sung in English! If you're a fan of the Dragon Ball manga or Dragon Ball Z, then I truly suggest you get Dragon Ball. With a release of 30-31 episodes a season this volume is the midway point of the series.

Volume 1: Episodes 1-31 (31 episodes) Pilaf Saga ->Training/1st Tournament Saga ->Start of Red Ribbon Army Saga

Volume 2: Episodes 32-61 (30 episodes) Continuation of Red Ribbon Army Saga

The following are pure speculation and often FUNimation makes wacky choices when they divided their seasons, but if they had any sense volumes 4&5 should be the way I list it here as it would complete two sagas with their respective season releases.

Volume 3: Episodes 62-92 (31 episodes) End of Red Ribbon Army Saga ->The Complete Fortuneteller Baba Saga ->Start of Tien Shinhan/2nd Tournament Saga

    62 "Sacred Water"
    63 "The Return of Goku"
64 "The Last of Mercenary Tao"
65 "Confront the Red Ribbon Army"
    66 "A Real Bind"
67 "The End of Commander Red "
    68 "The Last Dragon Ball"
    69 "Who is Fortuneteller Baba?"
70 "We Are The Five Warriors"
    71 "Deadly Battle"
    72 "Goku's Turn to Fight"
    73 "The Devilmite Beam"
    74 "The Mysterious Fifth Man"
    75 "The Strong Ones"
76 "The True Colors of the Masked Man"
    77 "Pilaf's Tactics"
    78 "The Eternal Dragon Rises"
    79 "Terror and Plague"
    80 "Goku vs. Sky Dragon"
81 "Goku Goes to Demon Land"

    92 "Goku Enters the Ring"

Volume 4: Episodes 93-122 (30 episodes) The End of Tien Shinhan/2nd Tournament Saga ->The Complete Demon King Piccolo Saga

Volume 5: 123-153 (31 episodes) The Complete Piccolo Jr. Saga/3rd Tournament Saga ->End of Dragon Ball』

『The eighth and penultimate season ofDragon Ball Zpits the Z Fighters, the Supreme Kai, and his attendant Kibito against the evil wizard Babidi, who hopes to release the monster Buu, which his father Bibidi created. (The names are apparently a back-handed salute to Walt Disney'sCinderella.) Goku, who's technically dead but still visting from the Other World, joins Vegeta and Gohan in the initial fights against Babidi's minions. As the battles escalate, Babidi use Vegeta's overweening pride to entrap the Saiyan Prince and turn him against his allies. It's all Goku can do to win Vegeta back, and the energy loosed in their stand-off enables Babidi to free Buu. Instead of one of the over-muscled behemoths the Z Fighters usually tackle, Buu is an obnoxious, infantile creature who looks like a sumo wrestler molded out of pink marshmallows. But he's incredibly powerful and resilient: even the Saiyans can't defeat him. Goku realizes only one warrior can destroy Buu: Goten and Trunks in their Super-Saiyan forms must fuse to form anüber-hero. The boys initially balk, as the Dance of Fusion looks and feels silly. But Gohan and Picollo whip them into shape and the formidable Gotenks appears.Season 8offers much more action and excitement than the World Tournament story that takes up most ofSeason 7. But unlike the earlierDBZadventures, theBabidi&Majin Buu Sagasend on a cliffhanger, with the fate of the Earth and its inhabitants hanging in the balance.
