(An anime series faithful to the manga release! A fantastic release!)
『Charming, beautiful, realistic and enjoyable... There are definitely a lot of positive things you can say about the anime adaptation of the Kodansha Award winning manga series by Chika Umino.

Having spawned a live Japanese drama and film, "Honey and Clover" has been a popular series that attracts both guys and girls as the story focuses on life and love from the perspective of both sides of the sexes. I was hooked by the manga series from volume 1 and enjoyed the film despite its different interpretation. But I have always been curious about the anime adaptation and now the first box set consisting of the first 12 episodes + a bonus episode is now available in the US courtesy of Viz Media. In Japan, a total of two seasons (48 episodes) have aired.

In 2005, "honey and clover" was turned into an anime series courtesy of Director Kenichi Kasai ("Nodame Cantabile", "Gokudo", "His and Her Circumstances") and a screenplay by Yousuke Kuroda ("Big Windup!", "Excel Saga", "Gungrave", "Infinite Ryvius"). The series features music by Yuzo Hayashi ("Sailor Moon" series), character designs by Shuichi Shimamura ("Saber Marionette", "Yu-Gi-Oh!", "Green Legend Ran") and anime production by J.C. Staff.

"honey and clover" focuses on five students who attend an art college and the focuses on their persona lives, their friendships within several years and how they evolve in school to eventually planning a career.

The following 13-episodes are featured on three DVD's. Here is a spoiler-less summary of each episode of "honey and clover box 1:

DISC 1:

* EPISODE 1 - "I Saw Someone Fall in Love for the First Time" - The guys meet a new transfer student named Hagumi who will be living with Professor Hanamoto and one of the guys starts taking a liking to her immediately.
* EPISODE 2 - "I Felt Left Out When I Saw Hagu's Work" - Morita-san thinks Hagumi is a Koropokkur and tries to make money of her.
* EPISODE 3 - "Why Is this Happening to Me?" - Mayama feels affection for someone. Who can it be? A Mayama driven storyline.
* EPISODE 4 "I Don't Like Christmas All That Much" - It's the first Christmas together as friends but why doesn't Takamoto like Christmas?

DISC 2:

* EPISODE 5 - "I Came Home to See You" - Takemoto hasn't gone home to visit his mother in a long time. A Takemoto-driven storyline.
* EPISODE 6 - "Why Did You Fall In Love With a Guy Like Me?" - Mayama learns the truth of what happened to Rika and her past. Meanwhile, Ayumi reveals something big to Mayama.
* EPISODE 7 - "Hagu, Let's Go Together" - Professor Hanamoto is offered to travel on a sabbatical for a year. But that means leaving Hagu alone.
* EPISODE 8 - "Feeling the Distance" - Hagu goes into depression while being away from Professor Hanamoto.

DISC 3:

* EPISODE 9 - "Why Can't I Tell Her" - It's the second Christmas together and Hagu decides to work with Ayumi and her family during the holidays.
* EPISODE 10 - "You Just Can't Cast Your Feelings Aside" - The group of friends go on a trip and write a waterbus and to a theme park where they must deal with their own personal emotions towards others.
* EPISODE 11 - "That Was No Fun At All" - Professor Hanamoto returns from his work-related sabbatical and the gang realizes that his time away from Hagu was as bad or much worse than Hagu being away from him.
* EPISODE 12 - "Foolish Thinking" - Hagu must deal with her personal emotions. Meanwhile, Morita disappears once again and Takemoto goes to find out why.
* BONUS EPISODE L - "Face to Face with a Legend" - The first "honey and clover" special featuring the friends talking about their appreciation towards a guy named Lohmeyer in two different storylines.

VIDEO&AUDIO:

"honey and clover" is featured in 16×9 widescreen and although the show is a television series, the artistic backgrounds, surround buildings are very well-painted and detailed. The character designs are true to Chica Umino's manga character designs and for the most part, character designer Shuichi Shimamura stayed true to her designs. Animation is fun and colorful and for those who are familiar with the manga series can definitely appreciation the overall presentation of the anime series. Very well-done.

Audio is presented in Stereo and featured in English and Japanese. Both the Japanese and English voice dub are both are very well-done. In terms of audio quality, the series is front channel driven but I chose to set my receiver with stereo on all channels. But dialogue is clear and understandable.

Subtitles are in English.

JUDGMENT CALL:

I really enjoyed this first box set of "Honey and Clover". I figured with so many situations from the manga series, how were they going to capture the essence of Chica Umino's characters and storyline in an anime. But for the most part, the staff succeeded in covering the most essential parts of the series. The jokes, the the angst, the emotions....everything hilarious and dramatic was caught and those integral scenes were featured on the anime series.

Similar to popular Japanese dramas such as "Asunaro Hakusho", "Wakamono no Subete" or "Hakusen Nagashi", I really enjoy stories that cover young adult life. From the parties to just hanging out with friends, meeting new people, career choices to finding love (or not finding love), "honey and clover" is one of those series that is realistic in the sense that many people can related to these characters. So, you really take an interest towards the characters and I really liked the overall development of the characters through the course of the nine chapters.

Umino's artwork and her storytelling is enjoyable, beautiful and has a good balance of entertainment through humor and that occasional love triangle drama that pulls you in. So, I was curious to see how much character designer Shuichi Shimamura can keep that quality and remain faithful to Umino's work. Sure enough, he and the crew succeeded. Artwork is absolutely beautiful as the painted backgrounds capture the detail of the wooden home where the guys live in. Buildings, lush scenery, colorful skies, you name it..."honey and clover" is just beautiful to look at and as mentioned earlier, voice acting in Japanese and in English are quite solid.

This is one of those anime series that will appeal appeals to both men and women courtesy of the main characters and we get to see things in each of their perspective throughout the series. If anything, the episodes are dramatic but the series doesn't take itself too seriously as you have the weird Morita, Hagu's overall young look and Ayumi's short temper helping to calm down storylines that can easily get too emotional and thus keeping the overall series lighthearted and fun.

Overall, being a big fan of the manga series, "honey and clover Box 1 is a magnificent anime release thus far. For those looking for an anime series focusing on young adult drama, real-life situations in relationships and college and more, give "honey and clover" a try. You'll definitely enjoy this anime series. Highly recommended!』

(Delightful.)
『This is not just another anime where romantic cliches litter the storyline. If you know artist Umino Chica, she's that one artist whose style creates a lasting imprint in your memories. Not only are her characters unique in their own way (i.e. Morita and his insane notions and humor, for example), each has his or her own story to tell. Each character's relationship with the others develop through a complicated storyline, some developing from friendships into something more. In the end, you're left with wondering about how each of them will live their lives in the future.

Honey and Clover is probably one of the most realistic, down-to-earth animes out there. Unlike other shoujo comics such as Nana or Fruits Basket, Honey and Clover shines with a deeply moving, pure and innocent plot. The viewer themselves can relate to the characters easily, allowing them to fully enjoy this series. After watching the anime, it is only right to pick up a copy of the manga in order to relive those carefree college days.

Perhaps some may say that the flaw of this anime is that the interacting environment seems too perfect. College life, as we know it, really IS perfect in the sense that there is no true society to deal with. College is, in and of itself, a mini-society. This anime portrays the relationships between several friends as they live their lives through the few years in post-secondary school and, in the end, fly beyond the classrooms.

A must-watch and a must-read, Honey and Clover deserves to be watched (and rewatched) over and over again.』

(A snapshot of college life.)
『Most anime is aimed at either a teenage or preteen audience. Honey and Clover is a rare anime targeted at adult women that guys should also enjoy - indeed, it will be appreciated most by those who have completed at least a year of college.

Our narrator is Yuta Takemoto, a sensitive young man slogging his way through his second year at a visual arts college as the series begins. Under the guidance of his favorite professor at the school, Shuji Hanamoto, Yuta makes his way along with his friends: his fellow architectural student Takumi Mayama, who's fallen in love with the young widow of Shuji's best friend; potter Ayumi Yamada, who in turn is in unrequieted love with Takumi; very eccentric computer graphics designer Shinobu Morita and, finally, Shuji's little cousin Hagumi "Hagu" Hanamoto - a painter/sculptor who will have a profound effect on both Yuta and Shinobu.

There are a few problems with the two female leads - Ayumi often becomes the dispenser of traditional anime slapstick humor, and more importantly a great chance to realistically depict life for short people is lost on Hagu, who has a disturbing lack of self-reliance with a somewhat shaky explanation. But for the most part, Honey and Clover brilliantly covers almost all aspects of college life, from freshmen experiencing their first bouts of homesickness to seniors stressing over finding their first jobs and everything in between - like learning how to handle alcohol without adult supervision and the dejection of often living on ramen and working your tail off to pay your dues without any financial reward yet. There are also some very humorous moments - especially a notorious game of Twister that will probably leap to the top 10 funniest list of many.

There are precious few josei anime in the North American market. Honey and Clover is generally considered one of the best, and if josei is your demographic, it belongs in your collection.』

(I love Honey and Clover!)
『Honey and Clover is very special. It's one of those series that doesn't come around very often and when it does it fills you with warmth and nostalgia. First off the characters are loveable and realistic, my favorite being Morita haha. I just love everything about this show, it takes me back to my early college years when life on your own was new and mysterious. This is just a great heart-warming shoujo anime that I would recommend to all girl anime fans! Also the soundtrack is amazing~』

(A Unique Anime Gem)
『Honey&Clover follows the lives of five students studying at an art college in Tokyo. The series follows their lives through their college years as they fall in love, find their first jobs, and question their purpose in life. I guess you can say that Honey and Clover is extraordinarily ordinary. Although in many ways that is what makes this series so special. If you were ever a college student (art college or otherwise) you will find it very easy to relate to the story Honey&Clover is telling.

The characters in Honey&Clover can be a bit quirky and eccentric yet they still all seem very real. It is especially easy to relate to the main protagonist Takemoto who is probably the most ordinary of the bunch and a perfect representation of an average college student.

Honey&Clover also boasts a great soundtrack with insert songs from Spitz&Suga Shikao used throughout the series. The art&character designs have a dreamlike and water color effect. Special notice should also be given to the opening sequence which uses stop motion animation&food for a very unique and memorable effect.

To conclude Honey and Clover is sometimes hilarious, sometimes it is sad. In that way it reflects the ups and downs of real life. If you are looking for an anime series that is intelligent, thoughtful&sincere I cannot recommend this one enough.』

(An Acquired Taste)
『This anime is pretty bad. The story is pretty slow and boring and it
jumps around a lot. It's also extremely graphic which I'm usually into,
but it's done all wrong in this case. The music goes with the depressing
feel of the story, but is terrible in my opinion. The only things that
seem to be good about Shigurui are the visuals. The artwork is pretty
colorless which makes it feel dull at times, but it's visually
impressive nonetheless. I would only recommend this to people who are
fans of gore or people into swordsman homosexuality because that's what
they'll find when they watch this.』

(Bloody and watchable)
『This is worth watching if you are looking for a darker series. If looking at the cover arts turns you away, then don't bother. The story is bloody and doesn't pull punches. It is also fairly complicated with the politics of the dojo and the small sampling of Japan in that era. Is this historically accurate? I don't care. Darker stories are difficult to come by as it is.
The artwork is not anything that will detract from the show. The audio is not amazing. No part was particularly lacking. The conclusion was not all I hoped for, but that helps the series perhaps.
A number of people have said that they couldn't like either main character. All of the characters were so depraved and they had no investment in any of them. The characters' have their moments of admirable actions (save a few characters). Seeing their humanity and how they handled similar situations differently is what made this worth watching.
I don't love gore, but I appreciate directors not holding back (so long as it doesn't become an exposition). Unfortunately, there are some scenes where it really is just exposition. The most valuable part of the series is the moral (or ethical) problem of what should/could have been done. No, this is not as good as Berzerk. No, it is not a great directing masterpiece like from Kurosawa. It is Shigurui, a bloody, dark, tale you can enjoy if you managed to watch Berzerk through to the end.』

(a review for all rev-ewwws)
『i've learned to read reviews starting from the least appreciative(1star) on up. generally speaking the longer the review, the more elaborate and exaggerated the appreciation is. Whether the appreciation is positive or negative this usually means one misunderstands the "ARTISTIC" intention behind the; team, partnership, committee, concern, or who ever made the project. Most crave dragonball-sailor moon knock offs, while some of us have the capacity for more formidable topics and depictions. Read reviews carefully. See what some one is actually complaining about. See if they have good grammar. If you do you might not agree with their review. Do the legwork and see what the creators have made before. See if the set is cheaper at stores in your town, on fye, e-bay, or on other sites before you buy something that just doesn't jump out at you.
This show is not very linear or coherent. That does not make it bad. I've watched several anime and am usually impressed by the ones that look nice, but that are very complex and "UNEASY" to understand. I like something to pose questions that make one struggle to understand. That just means it deserves a little more time than others. It's has principles. It has ideology. In today's world where only the exaggerated and elaborate have ideologies question everything. But furthermore, FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF.』

(lame)
『me and my girlfriend usually cant wait to watch anime series when we buy them, but with this one we watched one episdoe and there it just sat. we finally finished up the other episodes but i only made it thru the first 3 and then i went to bed.』

(don't buy this)
『If you like good anime like Berserker, Basilsk, or claymore don't buy this I made the mistake of buying it and now I m stuck with it. Yes the animation looks good and is gory but the battles are one hit kills and the dialogue makes no sense.

The action is super weird half of the time you only see guts flying and you wonder what hit the guy. The story has no end by the way and it keeps moving back and forward in time. (spoiler) don't expect the opening scene to be explained or finish or in no way be conected with the story.』

『Based upon the historical short storySuruga-jou Gozen Jiaifrom one of Japan’s most prolific authors, Nanjo Norio.

Two damaged warriors wear the scars of a twisted and violent past. Bitter rivals for the secrets of their master’s sword and the right to his daughter, these samurai inflict wounds on each other that would destroy lesser men. The final chapter of their saga unfolds within a brutal samurai tournament, a gruesome contest arranged to satisfy the bloodlust of a cruel tyrant overlord. The disfigured legends of the blade must summon the strength for one last battle – a final lesson in the artistry of violence where nothing is more beautiful than the kill.

『When you are looking to finish up Gurren Lagann, you can't go wrong with the special edition. It has the last nine episodes of the series, the two disk CD that has all the themes and endings on one disk, and all the awsome music from the series on the other disk. The first volume of the manga is included in the set as well. The manga remains true to the storyline while staying interesting as well.』

(Great series and a great service)

(The ultimate release for GURREN LAGANN fans! AWESOME!!!)
    『Fantastic!

It's the single word that describes how I have felt about nearly episode of "GURREN LAGANN and here we are now with the final set which contains volumes 05 (Episodes 19-23) and volumes 06 (Episodes 24-27). The Limited Edition version of Set 03 also comes with the first manga volume and the "GURREN LAGANN BEST SOUND" soundtrack.

GAINAX brings us a mecha anime series and having created so many and with so many created for so many decades, you often wonder if innovative, imaginative storylines can still be developed. Well, with "GURREN LAGANN", the creators of this anime series manages to create a fantastic series that unique, fun, explosive, sexy and enjoyable.

Volume 4 showed us how the final battle with Lord Genome has led humanity to an era of piece and Simon became the new leader of Kamina City while Rossiu Addai became second-in-command. The other members of Team Dai Gurren have become officers or employees of Kamina City while Yoko Littner became a school teacher.

But the seven year peace in the planet did not last as the anti-spirals wreaked havoc on the city but to make things worse, Simon along with his powerful mecha Gurren Lagann was able to defeat an anti-spiral nemesis but by doing so, when the enemy exploded, pieces of it started to shower over the city, almost like bombs and destroying cities and killing citizens. Meanwhile, Simon's fiance Nia is revealed to be a messenger for the anti-spiral and warns the planet that they will crash a moon and destroy mankind.

Volume 6 contains the final four episodes of the series. Included are:

    * Episode 24 - I Will Never Forget This Minute, This Second - With the help of Lordgenome, while Rossiu takes command on the planet, Simon and Viral lead several members from Team Dai Gurren to transport right into the Anti-Spirals home world. VIDEO&AUDIO:

Each episode is featured in 1:78:1 Anamorphic Widescreen. The character designs by Atsushi Nishigori are fresh and very different. I truly dig the character designs and the whole anime is quite colorful and looks stylish and pretty cool.

The main difference with these final eight episodes compared to the past series is the use of CG and various effects to showcase the war against the anti-spirals. Definitely vibrant in the various colors shown in the animation, the animators also take their time in utilizing stylish segments and making sure the final four episodes look chaotic, frantic but at the same time, colorful.

As for the audio, the Digital 5.1 effects utilized in the English dub is actually very well done. I liked the effective use of splitting the audio of action scenes through the various speaker channels and overall, the audio track for the 5.1 English dub is well done.

The Japanese audio is featured only in 2.0 Stereo but the dialogue and action scenes also come clear through the front channels, the main difference is that the war seems to come alive on the English dub. I have a 7.2 home theater setup, so it was great to hear the front channels utilized but also hearing the variety of sounds coming through my other two channels situated in the sides of my room.

So, overall, I was pleased that both audio tracks are included and although my preference is towards the original Japanese audio, I felt the casting of voice talent for the English dub was well selected and overall the voice acting on both the Japanese and English were well-done.

    Gurren Lagann Manga Volume 001

The first manga volume (in English) of "Gurren Lagann" is included with the SET03 LIMITED EDITION. The manga features both Simon and Kamina living underground up to the first battle between Kamina and Viral in their Laganns. The anime adaption from the manga is pretty much spot on. And the character designs were just pleasant to look at. Overall, a magnificent job by Kotaro Mori and of course, GAINAX. Also, another wonderful translation by Shoko Oono.

I was very pleased to find the two disc soundtrack "GURREN LAGANN BEST SOUND" included with the Set03 Limited Edition Box Set. For one, I have reviewed so many Japanese movie soundtracks and anime soundtracks to know that if you want a soundtrack with both vocal and instrumental tracks, you end up having to buy multiple soundtracks and CD singles. So, it does get expensive.

But for this soundtrack, you get all the vocal tracks and the instrumentals.

On the first disc "Theme Song Disc", you get the main theme "sorairo days", a catchy pop song by Shoko "Shokotan" Nakagawa and was the main theme song used for the whole entire series. You also get the ending themes "UNDERGROUND" by HIGH VOLTAGE and "Minna no Peace" by Afuromania and also the insert song used in the series titled "happily ever after" by Shoko Nakagawa.

The second disc features the soundtrack with music composed and produced by Taku Iwasaki. A well-known composer in the anime world who did the composition for hit anime series such as "Irresponsible Captain Tailor" OAV series, "Now and Then, Here and There", "Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen", "R.O.D. - Read or Die-" and many more anime series.

The soundtrack utilizes plenty of orchestra instrumental but you also get a touch jazz with track like "Boobies VS Boobies", romantic saxophone jazz with "elegy for Kamina's Father, Who Became a Skeleton", rock n' roll with "Nikopol" and hip hop with "Rap is a Man's Soul! Heads Up and Listen to the Man Who Seeks the Heavens, Kamina's Theme!" (which many people have heard the lyrics, "Bro! Bro! Fight the Power" throughout the series) and "Libera me" from Hell which combines cool rhymes with opera, electrosynth with tracks such as "Spin, Spin, Spin and Spin..." and electronic gabber-like style music such as "The Blue monday e"r"ectrical parade" and more.

CD insert contains romanized lyrics to the tracks and production credits.

    JUDGMENT CALL:

Overall, this is a pretty well-done soundtrack that features a wide variety of music. If sold on its own, I would highly recommend it but since it's a soundtrack that comes with a DVD box set, that's just the cherry on your favorite cake. If you are a fan of the series, this is another incentive of why to get the "GURREN LAGANN - SET03 LIMITED EDITION".

I can't help but think how awesome this series was to watch! From the stylish presentation, the wacky humor, the adult-like humor and pervertedness and the imaginative mecha Gunmen robots and attack modes, the battles and the fun characters and the music, there is just too much to like about "Gurren Lagann". I absolute found the series to be quite fantastic!

Just how the pacing of the anime series goes from people wanting to get out of the underground and seeking freedom, to the characters fighting to survive and eventually growing up but having to face their own insecurities and also consequence and then furthering their adventures as we see the characters start off young and right to end where they are older adults.

And of course, this anime series is action-packed but most of all well-acted (both in Japanese and English), awesome animation, great character development and well-written storyline. Suffice to say, these last two volumes are absolutely fantastic and the way the series concludes gives wonderful closure to the viewer.

And with Bandai Entertainment giving us a Limited Edition Box Set for "SET03 is just wonderful. It's great to have the first volume of the manga series but to get an awesome 2-disc original soundtrack, you are definitely getting your money's worth!

"Gurren Lagann" can be described in one word and that is "Fantastic!" but to experience the complete series from beginning to the end and to have a magnificent release with the "GURREN LAGANN - SET03 LIMITED EDITION", this DVD box set release definitely gets an A+!』

    (Pokemon Fun for All Ages!)
『Ok, First. These DVDs (along with every other Pokemon DVDs) are only in English. There is no Japanese like some reviewers are ranting about. But, why should you want the Japanese version? The Japanese version is exactly like the English version except for the voices, names of Pokemon, Humans, Places and Terms being in Japanese, with the occasional Japanese joke instead of an understandable English one. If you are an American (or any other non-Japanese) Pokemon fan and play the games, then what reason is there to watch it in a way you wouldn't understand? Japanese language doesn't trump everything in English. The English voices sound perfectly fine to me and I like them. Ash's voice is the only one I think could be a little better, but it's still very tolerable.

With that done, I will move onto the product itself.

The D/P DVD box sets are basically 2 volumes in one. It contains 2 DVD cases with around 8-9 episodes each for a total of 17-18 episodes each box set (depending on which volume).
The packaging is pretty simple&basic, but gets the job done. So are the Menus (Luckily, there is no ads before the Menu screen, just a VIZ logo); you get the choice to either: (1) play every episode in order, or (2) choose which episode from either the beginning or mid-point. The Openings and Credits are present also, except that the Credits play only a non-vocal song, unlike when it airs on TV (Thankfully).

The Video and Sound quality are very clean and excellent. No qualms here.

These DVDs do not contain any extras. Just the episodes. I have no problems with this, I bought these DVDs for the episodes and they deliver (not to mention, most DVD extras plainly fail!).

If you love to watch Pokemon, I recommend getting the DVDs!
If you are new to the show, I suggest, at the very least, to watch the "Indigo League" season first (can find them in a total of 3 box sets). That is when main characters such as Ash, Pikachu, Brock and Team Rocket get introduced. You will have an easier time getting into D/P then (being familiar with the games helps too!).』

    (complete disappointment)
『If you have seen the product description and planning to buy it on the basis that it is in Japanese, please just buy something of your second choice.

    This is NOT IN JAPANESE.

In other words, do not trust the description provided.

I am terribly disappointed in Amazon's incapability in providing accurate informatin despite the first review (which most people tend to not read).』

    (No Japanese language option)
『The products details include the following:
"Format: Animated, Box set, Color, DVD-Video, NTSC
    Language: Japanese
Region: Region 1 (U.S. and Canada only. Read more about DVD formats.)
    Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1"

Unfortunately, there is no Japanese language option. My 9-year old loves watching Pokemon every Saturday morning at 9:00 AM, so I thought I'd buy her the DVDs and let her hear the dialog in the original Japanese. The only language on the discs is English. She enjoys the cartoons nonetheless, so it's not a total loss.

If I'd have known this were the case, I probably would have gotten her something else. For now she'll have to stick with Tonari no Yamada-kun (My Neighbors, the Yamadas), Tonari no Totoro, and Howl's Moving Castle for her Japanese language fix.』

『Ash and Brock are back for more Pokémon battles and adventures!
Joining them is Dawn, a young girl who dreams of one day becoming a great Coordinator like her mother. Together the three travel through the Sinnoh region, collecting new Pokémon, facing down Team Rocket, and training hard to be the best!』

『This 99-episode adventure from 2006 features characters, places, and Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, the setting for theDiamond and Pearledition of the video game. Ash, Pikachu, and Aipom set out from Pallet Town in hopes of winning battles and badges. Almost immediately, they meet up with Brock, who has become a skilled Pokémon healer, and Dawn, an argumentative 10-year-old who wants to become a star Coordinator. Professor Rowan presents Dawn with a Piplup, a penguin-like Pokémon, while Ash acquires a Grass-type Turtwig. Brock befriends a Croagunk, a frog-like Poison Pokémon who slaps him and drags him away whenever he begins romancing Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny, or some other hapless girl. Ash acquires a rival in Paul, a rude trainer who treats his Pokémon with neither respect nor affection: Their competition runs through the series. Most of the episodes represent Poké-business as usual. Ash tries enteringa Contest with Dawn, but his focus on battle moves rather than grace quickly gets him eliminated. Dawn learns how to use a Pokéball and begins developing routines for the Contest circuit. Jessie, James, and Meowth of Team Rocket build increasingly elaborate machines to capture Pikachu and other Pokémon, but invariably go down in flames. Ash fails in his initial attempt to win the Coal Badge from Roarke of the Oreburg Gym, but with 82 episodes to go, he doesn't need to hurry. (Hard to match the first, but a solid compliment here)
『While the first season of Ah My Goddess! introduced you to the all the characters and their motivations, Flights of Fancy does a very good job to further flesh out these characters and introduces two new ones. However, while the first season generally saw no direct interference with the main protaganists' relationship, the second season directly goes that route to forcefully develop said relationship. While this works as a plot device, it does conflict with some of the clean charm and innocence that made the first season so refreshing. Still much of the fare remains, while all the characters are further developed. A very good follow-up to the first season.』

    (Ah! A Continuation?)
『This review is for the continuation of the Ah! My Goddess (AMG) TV series, Sorezore no Tsubasa. It can be be watched without watching the previous series but it's probably best not to because all the major character introductions were handled in the first series.

AMG is your standard romantic comedy (rom-com), complete with a rather pathetic male lead and a huge amount of large breasted females around him. It has its quirks, such as supernatural elements in the way of Goddesses and demons, as well as some robots, but the main focus is on the comedy side, with the supernatural stuff often used as a means of getting more laughs out of viewers.

Keiichi, the pathetic male lead mentioned above, lives with no less than three Goddesses: Belldandy, a doormat who has no evil in her heart and would do anything for Keiichi; Urd, Belldandy's half Goddess, half demon big sister who likes wearing revealing clothes and attempting to push the lead couple closer together and Skuld, Belldandy's younger sister who wants all of her big sister to herself and is an expert at building machines. The four different personalites work well together, with Urd being my favourite by far because she comes across as the most real character and has had the most development in AMG to date.

A few weeks after finishing the first season (S1), I typed up a very short review. I commenting that, although the plot didn't really advance after the start, instead going around in a seemingly endless circle, people would walk away glad that AMG is a 'circular' series because it's so heart-warming and charming.

After finishing season 2 (S2), I'm starting to think I was incorrect. The fact that the relationship between Keiichi and Belldandy didn't advance beyond them 'sort of' confessing their love for each other wasn't a bothersome issue in S1 because it dealt with the start of the story, including the introduction of all the key characters. It also ended fairly strongly for the start of a lengthy rom-com saga, with the last few episodes being about Belldandy stopping the Lord of Terror from destroying the world.

In S2, however, there was only the introduction of mostly unimportant characters to draw the viewers attention away from Keiichi and Belldandy 's relationship. And there was no Lord of Terror type of story this time around to the end the series purposefully. Apart from one or two episodes that continued on from where the previous episode ended, the entire series was episodic. Even the final episode that aired on TV (22) was random, with little to no build-up. Even though I'm not doubting that all the content included in the series was taken from the manga, it wouldn't be unfair to label most of what was included as filler designed to stretch the story beyond reasonable limits. The manga is still on-going after something like 20 years, and I read that Keiichi and Belldandy STILL haven't kissed even in the manga, so I'm sure it'll only get worse in the future TV series. I'm hoping not but I can't see any way for the story to have lasted for 20 volumes without 90% of the chapters not adding anything constructive.

Watching S2 actually made me start to dislike both Keiichi and Belldandy. Keiichi's a complete loser, lacking any backbone, and his inability to even openly admit his love for Belldandy after living in the same house for over a year made him look really, really pathetic. It's normal for the lead character in a rom-com to be like that but the endless length of AMG makes it much more of an annoyance. And as for Belldandy, her carefree and 'love everyone, no matter what' attitude became bothersome as the series went on. You'd expect a woman to get a little sexually frustrated with a guy who can't even bring himself to kiss her, despite his obvious feelings, yet she seems more than happy to go her entire life without so much as kissing...unless cooking gives her orgasmic pleasure, which isn't out of the question going on how much she cares about what Keiichi thinks of it, her passive personality is as fake as you can get -- it'd only work well in an erotic game.

The only episodes I truly enjoyed, aside from a few that made me laugh, such as the one involving the plum spirit singing about how he loved Urd, were those that attempted to add character development, and those were few and far between. There was one episode near the start that presented Tamiya, the comical senior who bosses around wimpy Keiichi, as a real person who could fall in love, and there were another two that attempted to develop Skuld, the kid Goddess who wants Belldandy (her 'big sister') all to herself, into a more mature character by bringing a young male into the picture...but that was it really in terms of character development. Near enough everything else could be discarded without it damaging the series.

Another issue I have is how the supernatural (the Goddess and demon stuff) was handled. I'm well aware that, first and foremost, AMG is a rom-com and that the viewer isn't supposed to take anything seriously. However, I can't deny that it bugged me how Urd, a Goddess and one of Keiichi's harem, casually revealed her mother to be the leader of demon kind, and the same goes for seeing the leader of demon kind become just another member of Keiichi's harem. Goddesses are supposed to stop demon kind from doing demonic stuff, yet the three Goddesses at Keiichi's house see no problem with talking to them and being friendly... Shouldn't they attack demons on sight; not befriend them? It's all a bit too silly, even for a rom-com.

As for the visual and sound side, AMG (both seasons) is the most visually pleasing rom-com anime I've seen. The range of colours used is impressive, the art is very consistent, the anmation is good when it needs to be and the computer graphics blend well. The new music used in S2 isn't as good as the music from S1 but that isn't a big issue when S1 music gets used as well. In short, there are no problems.

Even though I've spent a lot of time complaining in the above paragraphs, I did actually enjoy watching it quite a bit. Not as much as S1 but that's to be expected -- after all, the start is always stronger than the middle, and stories usually only ever come close to matching the start near the end. It was very easy to watch because of its episodic nature and, despite a few characters coming across as fake, AMG isn't short of likeable characters. I rate S1 8-9/10, giving it 8/10 on MAL, and I rate S2 7-8/10, also giving it 8/10 on MAL. If I could I'd rate S1 8.5/10 and S2 7.5/10, but MAL doesn't allow me to give 0.5 ratings and makes it look like I view the two series as equal in terms of quality.

If there's to be a third season I hope Sayako, the posh chick and 'queen' of Keiichi's college, appears more. She only appeared during the early episodes of S2, which is a shame when she was probably my favourite character in S1. I also hope Megumi, Keiichi's tomboy of a younger sister, appears for more than a few seconds in any future AMG offerings. I can understand why most of the S1 supporting cast didn't get much time in S2 - they'd already had their own episodes in S1 - but they are far better characters than the likes of Peroth; the Goddess who acts like a hooker (I got the impression she only 'helps' humans sexually). I'd hate to see more poor characters thrown in and less time being given to the more likeable characters.

Anyway, enough. I rate the series 7.5/10 and, despite its flaws, hope a third season will be created. If there's still no progress after that then I'll consider dropping everything AMG, but until then I'll stay interested in seeing more of Belldandy.

    Rating: 7.5/10』

    (Ah My Goddess Season 2)
『It got here quickly, nothing wrong no scratches, and the cases for the dvd's are pretty different but still cool. Quite possibly the best anime ever!!!!!』

(One of my top anime favs)
『I heard about Ah! My Goddess when I was in junior high from a classmate. When I accidentally discovered season 1 at Best Buy, I decided that I had to get it. I immediately fell in love with Belldandy's optimistic confidence and caring heart. I also enjoyed Keiichi's shyness and determination. It reminded me of myself. I couldn't wait for season 2.
The voice acting for both Japanese and English dubbed are both rather decently equal in my opinion. The opening theme catches me from the start. The romance between Belldandy and Keiichi finds difficulty and perserverance. With difficulties from Urd's love potions, Skuld's inventions, Marller's evil wits, Megumi's nosiness, and the autoclub's crazy ideas, it proves quite challenging for Keiichi and Belldandy. Season 2 also introduces a few new interesting characters.
By far, this series of "Ah! My Goddess" has become my absolute #1 favorite anime of all time. It is well worth getting both seasons. I really hope season 3 makes it soon.』

    (Ah my goodness :))
『This was a very good dvd package and dvd. If you follow the series you would lik this』
『It's been almost a year since the Goddess Belldandy came to live with college student Keiichi Morisato, and he's almost gotten up the nerve to kiss her. Unfortunately, the encounter with the Lord of Terror damaged some of Yggdrasil's systems, and the contract binding Belldandy and Keiichi is among the lost data.

The lovebirds can only hope the information can be retrieved before the Almighty One orders Belldandy back to Heaven. Naturally Skuld and Urd try to help, but it might be better if they didn't. Then, with Christmas at hand, Keiichi works himself to the bone to buy a present, and the rivalry with Sayoko may have driven Belldandy to drink?!

What happens when a Goddess is (literally) drunk with power? Find out what happens next in Ah! My Goddess, Season Two.

『The second season of the harem comedyAh! My Goddessunleashes an emotional rollercoaster as Norse goddess Belldandy experiences confusion, jealousy, impotence, despair and, of course, devotion to (and from) good-hearted nerd Keiichi Morisato. When she sealed away the Lord of Terror at the end of Season 1, some data was deleted in Heaven--including the contract linking her to Keiichi. To restore the missing file, he must remember theexactwording of the wish that brought them together. Once that problems gets sorted out, a succession of girls--natural and supernatural--pursue Keiichi. Shiho, a pretty freshman at Nekomi Tech, flummoxes him by writing a love note. The voluptuous goddess Peorth decides she's going to replace Belldandy by granting his most heartfelt wish. Mariler, the demon who caused so many problems in the first season, reappears. She's as incompetent as ever, so Hild, the formidable ruler of Demonkind, steps in to complicate matters further. In between these adventures, Skuld experiences puppy love and Urd goes beyondThe Three Faces of Evewhen Mariler physically splilts the demonic and divine sides of her personality. Things end happily when Peorth's training, Chihiro's hints and a potion of Urd's finally get Keiichi to tell Belldandy he loves her. In short, the filmmakers deliver the special mixture of syrupy sentimentality and broad slapstick comedy thatAh! My Goddessfans expect. (A Nice Series Of Revenge and Betrayal But Also Of Forgiveness And Redemption)
『If You already have anime series like Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, or Wolfs rain here's another fantastic series for your collection. The series gives a nice backdrop of the two main characters and their differing points of view on life and while they disagree on some views they are the best of friends, though the main story-plot does have on betray the other for his own rise to power within a powerful organization. The dead apparently don't stay dead though in this series and through science the betrayed friend is brought back to life to protect a very important person from the organization that is now run by the very friend that betrayed and murdered him. What you'll truly appreciate and grow to like is how throughout the years the betrayer has hidden regrets for his choices and a wish to redeem his sins that he's made in his life. That is probably the most heartfelt parts of the series as you see the bygone years of these two friends as they rise from street hoodlums to great power and money in their careers, but you also see the cost for theses choices as their friends are killed, personal sacrifices are made for their positions or remaining living friends, and finally the one choice that ends with one friend dead and another to gain ultimate power but at the cost of his remaining happiness. The ending fits the storyline greatly and while may annoy some viewers with how it ends it's still a nice climax for the two friends to find salvation and peace within themselves and each other. The video is clear and sharp with no blurriness or distortions to worry about and the audio was great as well the voice cast for the Japanese and English actors/actresses were great for their roles, the extras sadly aren't much just the usual trailers and textless intro/ending songs but that's about it. The box sets has seven dvds put into an individual slim cases and put into a paper sleeve. So if you like the dark drama animes with a lot of action, gunfights, and drama with a entertaining storyline with it here's a great choice to try out and for this price well worth it...』

    (Never Betray The Family)
『This is an excellent anime, which there are far too few of. Brandon Heat (Beyond the Grave) is the main character. He is mostly calm and cool, which seems to be a contradiction between the way he behaves and his name. He is basically raised on the streets with his friends, but finds love...to bad she becomes adopted by Big Daddy after her adopted uncle passes away. Big Daddy is the head of an organization comparable to the mafia, hence the title of this review. He is a very likable character, not the villian. He eventually allows Brandon to see his love, Maria, but only on supervised visits, since he now works for the organization. The anime follows along with death, love, betrayal, and revenge. The story becomes over the top around halfway through the show, with people being brought back to life for the purpose of powerful soldiers, which the new leader of the oraganization quickly seizes upon and sells them on the black market to conflict zones. This anime shows the possiblities of science, as well as humanity in its mafia style setup. This is an exceptional anime that should not be missed. I rate it #1, followed by Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Gundam 0083, and many many others. This will always be my favorite.』

(Vengeance is a Dish Best Served as a Complete Collection)
『The thing with Geneon's untimely demise is that it offered companies like Funimation a great library of unique titles to re-release as the market demands them. Case in point: Gungrave. A stylish and moody piece of animation that had, until now, existed in a complete boxed set briefly back in 2005. Funimation has gathered together all of the episodes and is once more offering a Complete Set for fans and prospects alike.

Coming in at a total runtime of 650 minutes, Gungrave the Complete Set spans 7 discs and comes packaged in seven thin packs within a richly decorated cardboard outer case. Language options are standard sub and dub fair which means original Japanese dialog (Dolby Digital 2.0) and an English Dub (Dolby Digital 5.1) with English subtitle options in either language.

The show wears an appropriate 16&Up rating due to its frequent use of violence and strong language. However, and like most anime titles of this genre, the presence of sexuality and/or nudity is surprisingly sparse.

Features are a pretty solid bag and include 16:9 Anamorphic widescreen presentation, conceptual art stills, textless opening and closing themes, and a host of trailers.

The story, or what passes for one in this case, follows a guy named Brandon Heat, who has been resurrected from the dead and is now known as Grave (which is short for Beyond the Grave).

Under the supervision of a mad scientist and young girl, Grave wanders around his deserted hometown recollecting his memories and preparing for a mission of revenge against the friend who betrayed him (resulting in his trip six feet under).

The first few episodes take their time assembling Grave's back-story through a succession of flashback sequences that depict a slightly disturbed Brandon Heat's involvement in street gangs. Once the gangster "Mad Dog" Ladd enters the fold, gun shots ring out, are fired, blood is spilled, and soon it's just Brandon and his best friend Harry MacDowel fending for themselves on the city streets.

For the most part, the pacing works. How so you wonder? Well the core of the viewer's interest is derived from the natural curiosity as to what led up to Grave's bizarre situation.

You realize that Brandon and Harry are thick as thieves in their underworld exploits in life but logic tells you that this relationship must have soured. How, when and why? How does Brandon meet his untimely demise? More importantly still, how does he return to the land of the living?

You'll wonder these things just a bit quicker than the backtracking is able to reveal them but this is no big deal because a riveting story never was Gungrave's strong suit and shame on you for thinking otherwise.

In truth the story is serviceable here which is to say it represents just enough to keep the wickedly cool visuals flowing from scene to scene, episode to episode. You may have heard it mentioned in other reviews and there is definite truth to the fact that Grave is perhaps the most unlovable protagonist of all time. He's distant, cold, and drab- and that's before he becomes a zombie!

Although it should be dually noted that affection for the lead character isn't a requisite for making the most of the Gungrave experience. The key word here is mood and boy does Gungrave paint a pretty picture through its lighting, ambiance, and just plain grit. It isn't hard to liken the prose to the literary classic Gunslinger series by Stephen King. In fact that's really one of the best comparisons I can come up with (just so long as you don't expect the mind-twisting elements that riddled the later entries of the book series). Gungrave is definitely shallower, more violent, and linear in its pacing and prose.

The English dub works better than it has any right to and perhaps that can be credited to the simple fact that the roles clearly didn't require a whole lot of emotion (particularly that of Grave himself). The secondary characters simply had to be gruff, rough or tough and American actors, if I may generalize, rarely have trouble nailing that assignment. The Japanese dialog brings a bit more emotion to the script but don't expect miracles from Grave, he is what is regardless of which continent the actor portraying him hails from.

In all this is definitely not a title for the masses but rather is an acquired taste; kind of like black coffee or German beer. If you're looking for a shoot-em-up with a simplistic plot saturated with vengeance (ala Kill Bill) and cool visuals (come on the guy blows his enemies away with his guns crossed and his hat dipped below his eyes for crying out loud), this is a must-own collection. If, on the other hand, you find yourself in the camp seeking emotional attachment, rich storytelling or ultra-believability, perhaps you would be wiser to let this one drift past like the cloud of dust kicked up from Grave's cold stiff boot.』

『Back from the grave… back for murder.

For Brandon Heat, death doesn't matter. Driven by his need for revenge, he returns from beyond the grave to cripple Milleneon, the huge mafia organization that uses undead monsters as its enforcers. His ultimate goal will be to destroy Harry MacDowel, the leader of Milleneon and, at one time, Brandon's best friend...』

(Hopefully Blu-ray set will be released in U.S. also)
『The Japanese blu-ray of this collection has only been out for about 3 months. Unfortunately while it is region free the cost of importing the blu-ray is just around $320 (not including shipping), compared to the current (on sale) price of $38.49 for the domestic DVD collection. Also, there are /no/ English subtitles option with the Japanese blu-ray release. So for now it is still easily recommended to purchase this DVD collection. But for those who want to see this series in 720p resolution and English dub or sub it will require more patience as it may still be a much longer wait for Funimation to release the domestic blu-ray set. Hopefully it will be released at a much lower price than the current cost of importing.

Additionally note that this reviewed item is the 2009 re-priced version of the DVD collection. I am not sure if there are any major differences within the extras or content compared with the earlier DVD collection.』

    (A Must-See Anime!)
『Forget that review with a 2-star. This anime is a great example of how anime should be done!
It details the story of a teenager named Shiro who is involved in the Holy Grail War, with his partner (called Servants) named Saber. They must go about and defeat the other Servants and Masters in order to win the Holy Grail, which gives it's possessor one wish that it may have granted.
PROS - Great artwork, and great animation. You can tell that it has great production values.
    - Great storyline! It's a bit difficult to follow at times, but if you are attentive, you will understand and enjoy this story.
    - Awesome characters! Each character is in this War for their own reasons, and each character has his or her own personality; no "vanilla" characters here! The main character Shiro does seem a bit bland compared to the rest, but that doesn't mean he's a paperweight! The relationship between him and Saber is what's most significant in this anime!
CONS - It seemed a bit rushed in the last episode, and some aspects weren't fully explained (such as the connection between Archer and Shiro, and about the last Holy Grail War).
Overall, this is a must-see anime! You will NOT regret it!』

    (Nothing special about this series)
『I purchased this product based on the reviews seen here. All I can say, they are probably created by preteen boys. At their age, I can't fault them for it because I liked Voltron at that age too.

The series consist of mostly fighting. As such the enemies become more difficulty as the series progresses. So, it's episodes can be similar to that of Angelic Layer without the fun, enjoyment, and an actual storyline.

There is some romance. It can be as stale and lacking as is in Green Green or DearS.

For a similar fast pace action and better series look toward Angelic Layer. For romance, choose Chobits. If you want gut breaking heartbreak then Elfen Lied would be a good choice. Warning, Elfen Lied is not a kid friendly anime.

(This anime is what more action anime's should strive to be.)
『Fate/Stay night fought an uphill battle for a few years to get released stateside and I had always heard about the craze for it in Japan, so needless to say I was ecstatic when it was finally brought oversea's a little over a year ago. Of course it was extremelly limited and I had to fight tooth and nail to compelte the collection, but with this new package it can be yours easily.

As for the series itself, its a simple premise, but one with slight nuances and touches that make it interesting enough to sit through. Seven people who are themselves Magus'(people controlling the elements and magic) must summon themselves each one servant to do their fighting in a sort of battle royale to determine which is worthy to recieve the ultimate prize, the Holy Grail. Thats the main jist of this series, but again, I won't say anything more about who or what or why because its a fun series that mixes very well action and plot. The action sequences are some of the best I've seen in a long while, on par with something like the more epic scenes in Samurai 7. This IS a series about magic and beings who posess incredible powers afterall and, more often than not, they will be taking a lot of the environment around them with them during these scenes. I think a great thing about this series too is that its more relatable to our society than most animes because the character's are based off of many cultural, historical figures, not simply those pertaining to Japan.

If you love action scenes in your anime and some good story laid down over a foundation of suspense and dramatic mystery, then you'll love this series. I think it deserve well its enormous following in its native homeland. And who doesn't love a hottie like Saber wielding a simply wicked sword anyways?』

(Classic Tale of Hero and Heartache)
『Ordinary person becomes reluctant hero, hero is torn between choosing love or his humanity. Stong character's, villians, heroic story. Hard decision by the hero, do I choose my heart or what is right for humanity? Many noble sacrifices are made during the story. WILL CRACK YOUR HEART!』
『Never Before released in complete boxset form!

Ten years ago master mages fought a secret war to control the Holy Grail and the result was devastating to everyone. Today, the Holy Grail War begins anew waged by a new generation of masters. One unlikely master, Shirou, must come to grips with the reality of this secret battle when he unknowing summons his own servant, Saber; the one said to be the most powerful servant of them all. Perhaps, Shirou will be the one to prevent the destruction that ended the first war.』

    (Pretty good)
『This Tenchi is a little different from the others I've watched. Some of the voices are different. Some of the graphics are too. It's not bad but its not great either.』

(The action heavy part of the Tenchi Muyo OAVs)
『This particular volume in the Tenchi Muyo OAVs brings us the conflict with Kagato, the introduction of another girl into Tenchi's extended family and a comedy episode with some foreshadowing for things to come. It still features the usual mix of comedy and plot twists galore that the Tenchi Muyo OAVs are well known for. The disc comes with Japanese and English audio which will satisfy fans of both preferences. But special features in this disc are lacking as the only notable feature is a collection of trailers for titles that Pioneer/Geneon recently distributed and licensed back in 2002/ 2003 when this DVD first came out. If you just want the episodes, then this volume of the Tenchi Muyo OAVs is worth purchasing. If you want special features, then try hunting down the Tenchi Muyo Ultimate Edition DVD set which has an extensive offering of special features for fans to go giddy over.』

    (A Blunder of Epic Proportions)
『Tenchi Muyo! is one of those legendary anime productions that continues to live on in the minds of fans. Essentially a fairy tale and a coming-of-age story, the plot revolves around the seemingly simple Tenchi who inexplicably finds himself surrounded by a bevy of beautiful alien women. Naturally, zany adventure and epic danger quickly ensue. For many, this now common "harem" style of anime was their first introduction to the art form during a time when it was still a rare commodity. And for most, the series' cast of lovable, fascinating, and unforgettable characters still remain indelibly etched onto their hearts.

The franchise is also a complicated one, with various alternate versions of the original series spanning nearly all forms of media, including television, manga, video games, and even novels. Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki - Box Set The Complete Series is the much anticipated seven episode continuation of the original OVA (original video animation, or direct-to-video) animated series, although fans expecting to find the show's earlier thirteen episodes will not find them here.

Misleading monikers aside, these newest installments to the Tenchi canon serve as perfect examples of how not to resurrect a series. After a thirteenth episode that ended on a rather inconclusive note, fans, after years of waiting, naturally imagined the new installments would contain the same heartfelt romantic intrigue, epic battles, and zany shenanigans associated with the earlier productions. Instead, they received seven boring, nearly humorless episodes that revolved around characters not even present in the earlier stories. Below are some of my more detailed complaints, but beware of spoilers:

Remember Ryoko, the awesome space pirate? She's now a weak, ineffectual whiner. Remember Noike and Misau? Of course not, because they weren't in the earlier episodes, but they dominate these. Remember the awesome battles in the climactic sixth episode? Not one is worth mentioning this time around. Remember wondering what Tenchi's mother must have been like? Well, you got your wish--she was a half-deluded prankster who enjoyed toying with Tenchi through trickery and gags. Remember thinking Yosho was an unmarried widower? Well, turns out he's actually married to a Jurain woman that he sees, hmmm, virtually never. Remember thinking Lady Seto, the Devil Princess of Jurai, must really be a force to be reckoned with? Nah, she's just a harmless, somewhat frail woman. Remember looking forward to a climactic showdown with the Goddess Tokimi? Never happens, turns out she just wants to be friends! Remember wondering about the identity of the Counter-Actor? Of course not, she never existed or was even hinted at in the earlier stories, nor is she well explained in these. And, of course, here's the biggest one--Which girl does Tenchi choose? Apparently, he will someday marry all of them! *sigh*

Couple all these complaints with just average animation and shaky writing, and you have what is possibly the worst continuation of a beloved series anyone could have ever conjured up. The show's only slightly redeeming quality is that certain long-held questions regarding some of the characters are finally resolved or explained (but whether anyone likes those "answers" is a different story).

The entire Tenchi Muyo franchise is special. Seek out the earlier episodes (known as Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki OVA 1 and 2), check out the TV series Tenchi Universe (and its excellent sequel movies, Tenchi Muyo in Love and Tenchi Forever), and seek out Hitoshi Okuda's brilliant No Need for Tenchi manga novels. But as for the episodes in this set, they will only make you cry.』

(Didn't seem to be all of it...)
『I liked the series just fine but this still seemed like it was missing some pieces. One time they show a flashback to where Ryo Ohki took on the entire Jurai fleet, but I don't recall that scene from anywhere. Maybe it's me LOL. Still a great short Tenchi series.』

    (A Collection Must!)
『The series follows the lives of four fate driven friends. The shows humor, action and drama will have you wanting to see more. Tenchi is a classic must have addition to your anime collection!』
『Tenchi seeks answers from his past while Ryoko faces the present head on. But the gang's world gets turned upside-down when they receive a strange visitor. After composing himself, Tenchi discovers that the mysterious visitor is not his mom, but a long, lost sister who has come to inform him of his arranged marriage and, more importantly, his new fiancée, Noike. While Ryoko, Ayeka, and the others are disputing this, Tenchi leaves to work in the fields, where he unknowingly meets his bride to be. When Tenchi collapses from exhaustion, Washu gives him a prescription for three days of complete rest and relaxation! Now, with Tenchi confined to his bed, Noike must find a way to rally the girls into helping out around the house! After proving herself to him and his friends, will Noike finally be the girl Tenchi chooses?

    (G GUNDAM ALWAYS DELIVERS)
『This second half of the series is truly the better half of the whole. Domon's journey to defeat Master Asia and the dark Gundam, as well as finding his brother Kyogi is both action packed and heart wrenching. As a whole, this series is more engaging than many of the other gundam series. The story is spectacular and plausible. The Gundams included are amazing and very unique. The series also surreptitiously includes Gundams from other series in the final battle against the Dark Gundam. A great buy.』

(Where to purchase G Gundam Complete Second Collection)
『After a bit of research into which seller to choose I found DeepDiscount.com to be the cheapest and safest retailer to choose from (aside from Amazon.com). Many of the other retailers do not have verification on their websites that indicate a safe and secure transaction. Some don't even have a proper return policy. If you want to buy this item at a lower price but want a safe, expeditious transaction, then I would recommend DeepDiscount.com.』

(FInishing where the first box set started...)
『My personal favorite anime's second set was no disappointment. If you were smart and bought the first collection before this, you pretty much have seen everything on this set. Same style of interviews, same features. Only difference is episodes. No big deal though, it still more than works...』
『The Battle Royale begins! Domon must defeat his friends and face the Four Evil Kings. But with the fate of his brother still fresh on his mind, Domon and the rest of the Shuffle Alliance must face the ultimate test as they rocket into space to save the Earth. Beside them stands all of the Gundams from all of the nations of Earth. The Gundam Federation has been formed to prevent the destruction of the Earth from the Ultimate Gundam. But is it too late? The Epic Conclusion to G-Gundam collected for the first time! Genre: Action/Sci-Fi/Mecha.』
