The episodes though just thirteen are still very entertaining to watch and see how the various couples form between the high school kids, there are a few serious moments built into each episodes but kept light enough where you aren't to down on watching them. The animation for the series was great and the voice cast for the Japanese and English actors/actresses were great as well and the extras are pretty decent as well considering the price for this set. There is of course some nudity in the series but nothing to drastic to really worry about and while there are some fantasizing on certain romantic situations but again nothing to worry about to much as unlike with Please Teacher there won't be any sex scene(Not to Hardcore though) to complain about. So if you're a fan of anime shows like Fruit Basket or Shuffle give this series a try you might just be shocked at how enjoyable the show really is.』
(good second season of Please Teacher) 『If you liked Please teacher then you will like the humor of this (Please Twins) Ok you have to buy that Japanese Orphans can live on there own while going to high school. but for Please Teacher you had to beleve a high school student could be married to his teacher who is a alein from outer space.
I recomend seeing Please Teacher frist because it will help with Please Twins and it's a better story.』
(Awesome) 『If you like japanense Anime' you will love this series, we couldn't wait to see what would happen next. We wish there were more squeals. Enjoy!』
(Very cute, very funny!) 『Unlike some of the other reviewers I actually liked this better than "Please Teacher!" (dorky high school boy meets hottie teacher and they fall for each other - kind of creepy to me). Onegai Twins is an almost-too-sweet story about 3 young people trying to find their place in life with each others' support. The three were abandoned by their parents as small children and feel they have no home, no place to call their own, until a TV report about UFOs over a lake in Japan pans past a house they each have a picture of. The three come to this town to find answers to their past and their place in the world.
The animation is good, the characters likeable, and the comedy sometimes raunchy. There are bath scenes with the girls but all the "naughty bits" hidden or obscured. It's a short anime series with a satifying, classy end. Highly recommended for teens and older.』
(good anime) 『the only bad thing about this anime is the fact that there are only 11 episodes, other than that this show is worth buying .』 『Studio: Infinity Resources Inc Release Date: 11/28/2006』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (The Full Anime DVD Release Arrives At Last) 『Shônen Onmyôji is a pretty rich franchise and odds are pretty good that you may have encountered it in some variation in the past. Based on a 25-volume light novel in Japan (by Mitsuru Yûki/ illustrations done by Sakura Asagi), it has made its way to the United States in the form of drama CDs, a video game on the Playstation 2, and even a DVD release of the anime from Geneon.
After releasing only two volumes of the anime to North America, Geneon pulled out of the anime game and that's where this FUNimation Complete Series comes into play. This is the first time all 26-episodes of the program have been released to the United States in a single box set collection.
Released across six discs, Shônen Onmyôji The Complete Series comes packaged in three thin packs (each housing two DVDs) within an outer cardboard slipcase and consists of episodes 1-26. The show comes in at a total runtime of 625 minutes and wears an appropriate if slightly conservative Suggested 13&Up rating due to animated violence and adventure qualities.
Language options are standard sub&dub with both an English dub and original Japanese soundtrack (either in Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo)&the choice of English subtitled if so inclined to turn them on.
Extras include textless opening and closing songs, and a host of fresh Funimation trailers.
The story goes something like this: Abe no Masahiro is the grandson of the great onmyôji (sorcerer), Abe no Seimei. Despite being taught the ways of magic from his grandfather, Masahiro finds very little reason to flex his "magical muscles". In fact the poor kid feels like a bit of hack when compared to the greatness of his grandfather's reputation.
In true "use it or lose it" tradition, the lack of spell casting in Masahiro's life actually results in the disappearance of one of his main gifts: The ability to see ghosts. Deciding to take it as a sign to pursue other avenues, Masahiro nearly puts it all behind hum until an entity drops down from the clouds one day with a message: Masahiro is to continue the work started by his grandfather regardless of his own fears and failures.
In case your Japanese history isn't up to snuff, Abe no Seimei is an actual person in Japanese history with a reputation of having the trust and confidence of the emperor back during the Heian era in Japan (which is the setting for the anime as well).
What makes this piece so charming is the intermingling of actual Japanese history, culture and beliefs with a fictional and funny character in the foreground to tie it all together.
Despite a title that insinuates endless scrapping and tournaments, Shônen Onmyôji is actually a blend of comedy, historical and supernatural elements of Japanese culture, action, and a bit of romantic interest to keep things interesting.
The art is consistently solid without resorting to flashy CGI segments or gimmicks to lure viewers. Perhaps the show's greatest strength however is its pacing, which establishes a nice hardy clip early on and doesn't waste a whole lot of time venturing off on tangents or setting up story threads that lead nowhere (which is often a legitimate concern with 26-episode runs).
The characters are well developed and manage to accomplish the difficult task of teaching history without drawing attention to this fact or sacrificing entertainment value to do so.
The English dub is quite well done but the visuals and themes simply work better in the native Japanese dialog track. While it isn't openly said, the Japanese voice actors must surely have had a lot of fun working on the project.
In all this is a solid series that's finally getting the complete DVD release it has deserved much to the delight of existing fans who were left high and dry after only two volumes a few years ago and anime buffs in general seeking a unique twist on history.』 『Abeno Masahiro is the grandson of the great sorcerer Abeno Seimei. Unfortunately for him, his grandfather did such a great job in the past, he really hasn’t had a need to perform any magical duties and as a result, Masahiro lost his sixth sense and the ability to see spirits. One day, a demon drops from the sky and proclaims that Masahiro must continue his grandfather’s work and learn to be an Onmyouji regardless of the dangers that await him!』

(Vehicle Voltron rocks!) 『Vehicle Voltron finally comes to us on dvd after a long wait. It brought back all the adventure I enjoyed as a kid watching this program after school. A big deal is made about the Lion Voltron but this one always was my favorite. The space explorers on board the ship titled "Explorer", lol, is on a mission to find habitable new worlds in a region of space that is occupied by the very hostile Drule Empire. As our heroes attempt to colonize these new worlds in Drule territory, they in turn try to throw them out by attacking them with Robeast monsters and their own mighty fleets. The Galaxy Alliance counters with Voltron, that is made up of three vehicle teams known as Air, Land&Sea teams. Led by team leader Jeff, they attempt to stop the Drules and keep a foothold on these new planets by assembling Voltron. This show maybe a little slow at first but the plot lines pick up when a certain Drule Leader named Hazar sees that fighting against the Galaxy Alliance could be a mistake especially since their own population is also in a race against time to find new planets as well because of overcrowding. I loved it as a kid growing up and I can't wait for volume 2 to come out soon!』
(Holy Grail) 『When for the first time I saw Voltron - Defender of the Universe - Collection One: Blue Lion on the shelves, I felt shock, awe, and, excitement as My heart began to palpitate rapidly. A day long waited had finally come! But I was at a disadvantage because I did not own a personal DVD player. I then understood what I had to do. Man!!...There is justice! But My endeavour is not reached. I, like the rest You Voltron Fans could barely sleep,... obsessed until the last installment of Sea Team episodes were released and in My possession added to My Cartoon Treasure Trove. Relieved that the date was not moved again. They are finally released! The episodes of Volume VI,VII, and VIII themselves are Great but Greatness has no limits. My intro to it was "Shogun Assasin" in approx 1985 that made it to the theaters in the U.S. which that should tell you something!!!!!!!. Then i found out there was a series. The cinematogophy is so unparallel compared to todays 2009/2010 ninja movies. The special effects were kinda old fashion but the acting and scenery makes up for it all.』
(THE BEST IN JAPANESE GRINDHOUSE) 『If you like Japanese Samurai movies you must own this series. I just wish the series continued.』
(Be warned!) 『It's too bad this set is not what it says it is. In other words, the movies are not "un-cut." Yes, the movie contents are not cut but each and every film in this set features the films where both sides of the frame are literally chopped off for no acceptable reason. The results are quite terrible considering the fact that many scenes obviously lack one of the duelists missing from the frame which totally disturbs the viewer and spoils the atmosphere. If you're willing to truely enjoy the movies to their maximum entertainment potentials, I would recommend buying the Japanese issued versions that should have the films in their original ratios though they cost tons more and come in different region codes.』
(a real MASTERPIECE!) 『Forget about Spider Man, X Men, Superman Returns, ouch! This one is a real comic book based set of movies. A complete masterpiece to go along with the book collection. Anything I say wouldn't be enough to express how good this is. Try to learn something, Avi Arad.』

The journey continues in BABY CART TO HADES, with Ogami coming to the aid of a prostitute who killed her pimp. But he has to undergo torture to win back her freedom. In the follow-up, BABY CART IN PERIL, Ogami must battle a female martial arts master and defend his son from an assassination attempt by an enemy clan. The fifth film in the saga, BABY CART IN THE LAND OF DEMONS, features a duel between Ogami and five warriors who hold not only his assassin's fee, but vital information he needs to hunt down his enemies. (Nine = Suffering) 『Interesting - a bit of insight on the choice of the name Section 9?
From a Yahoo News story: Why 09/09/09 Is So Special
In Japanese, the word for nine is a homophone for the word for suffering, so the number is considered highly unlucky - second only to four, which sounds like death.
Many Japanese will go so far as to avoid room numbers including nine at hotels or hospitals, if the building planners haven't already eliminated them altogether.』

Although its production values are lower, and director Kenji Kamiyama never matches Oshii's inspired camerawork,Stand Alone Complexdoes an impressive job of recreating the setting and characters. With the help of the other officers from Public Security Section 9, Kusanagi moves through a deadly city ofmecha, cyborgs, humans, and human-prosthetic hybrids. Batou emerges as a more complex and compelling character in the TV series than he was inGhost in the Shell II: Innocence: He engages the other characters, instead of endlessly quoting philosophers.
Politics and cyber-espionage collide in a somewhat tangled plot that centers on the pursuit of The Laughing Man, anüber-hacker whose pseudonym is linked to J.D. Salinger's 1949 story of the same name. The master cyber-criminal leads Kusanagi and Batou into a web of murder and deceit involving bogus cures for "cyberbrain sclerosis" and corrupt government ministers. In the secondary story, the Tachikomas, crab-like robots used by Section 9, develop personalities and an awareness of their existence. The Tachikomas recognize some of the implications of their growing consciousness, but their childish voices--modeled after the performance of Japanese actress Akiko Tamagawa--sound odd discussing philosophical questions. The cast main characters are Itsuki Iba the young male high-school student who has taken his fathers place as the new president of the group called ASTRAL and has a unique gift while not having any powerful magical abilities to really speak of and being a little bit timid(More like a lot)his right eye is gifted with an ability called Glam sight allows him to anticipate his opponents moves and see their inner self and magical powers giving him a decided advantage over them, next we have the young celtic witch Honami Takase Ambler who goes to the same school as Iba and has untold feelings for him as well as a secret dark past with Iba as they knew each other as children but after a horrific experience causes Iba to loose that part of his memories, next we have Ren Nekoyashiki A seemingly mid-twenties Onmoudou caster who while having a pretty laid back attitude to most things does have an apparently hardcore affections for cats and being a hard negotiator for the price of jobs and expenses for the company, the last spiritual member of the team is a young girl Mikan Katsuragi who despite her age is a powerful Shinto priestess but also which expected for her age is still quite childish in her ways, the last two people are Manami Kuroha a young female ghost that Iba hires to the company after meeting her on one of their jobs, and finally we have Adelicia Lenn Mathers a powerful young female western spell caster who is the president of a competing company of Astral and after coming to know Iba develops feelings for him as well making her a rival of Honami. The extras are pretty good with Japanese commercials, trailers, and commentaries, the set comes in four slim dvd cases in put into a pretty sturdy cardboard sleeve with the pictures of all the mentioned characters on both sides as well as a paper book that gives history details of the characters, written interviews from the cast, and background history on things like magic, the afterlife, alchemy and such. The video is widescreen and very clear and sharp so no worries about picture quality, and the audio and soundtrack fit the series perfectly the season is on Japanese voice cast so there isn't any dubbing for the show but no problems as the cast for great for this show and I rather have no dubbing than an atrocious one. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Going Downhill.) 『The Episodes in the "Teens" are probably the fall down part of the Gatchaman series, The episodes on Collection 2 are not as fun and exciting as Collection 1. For me it's because there's really no fighting action just God Phoenix VS Galactor Mecha. I rather see them infiltrate Galactor bases and beat the crap outta the bad guys. Still, there are quite a few highlight episodes but they are HEAVILY surrounded by boring episodes.
Highlight Episodes -The Fearsome Icekander -Speed Race Through Hell -Who Is Sosai X? -The Great Insect Operation -The Neon Giant Who Laughs At The Dark
If you're a BIG fan of BOTP and G-Force I recommend this for the nostalgia. I'm 100% sure that Collection 3 has alot of more fun and exciting episodes so be sure to pick that up after you get done watching Collection 2!』
(Worth the price, if only to see how much better it gets...) 『As mentioned, Vols 3&4 contain entirely episodic shows, with little to now exploration of the characters or the the 105 episode spanning plot. While I agree that taken by the each these episodes are nothing to write home about (I'd give them two to three stars), I'm giving the box set four stars because of classic source material, the fantastic restoration, and the truckloads of extras (althouth I still haven't gotten around to seeing all of the extras yet!). Also, the dubs are quite useful--I feel very strongly that you'll get much more enjoyment out of watching the series in the original Japanese--it just hits harder and the acting is so good, that you forget how campy it can taken. Still, I applaud ADR for the faithful dubs, the actors take their jobs seriously, and once I've seen the episode in Japanese it's great to have it play in English so the viewer doesn't have to concentrate as hard (maybe you can get some work done while you watch?). Also, it's interesting to see the different dialogue, and the dub-actors takes on the characters.
Watch these largely throw-away episodes, many of which don't even show the series main villian Berg Katse and certainly don't flesh him out, and then contrast it with the later volumes to see how much better the story gets (the animation and monsters/mecha are *still* superb)--also, watch as the writers take the sometimes ridiculous material from these earlier episodes (the "who is the Red Impulse" stuff, Galacactor's foil to the Ninja Team--the Blackbirds!, and ESPECIALLY Joe's insane "doggy injury" and turn them into dramatic plot points or weave them into intricate story lines that keep you glued to the screen and guessing episode after episode.
Some of the extras are obviously "filler", but with so much to choose from I certainly don't want to discourage ADV--The (noted comic artist) Alex Ross material, artwork and especially the interview are fascinating, the original Japanese material (a video-still, translated version of the original Japanese comic) and sketches are enthralling and show what a phenominal success this show was back in the early 70's, and how it still holds up today. The English dub actors/producers commentary is good,
Volume 4 is certainly the more relevant of the two disks, with the first appearance of Sosai X, Joe's display of obsession regarding Berg Katse, the biggest glimpse of who the Red Impulse is and why he helps the Science Ninja Team, and Joe's injury which plays a MAJOR part in the story much later, especially episodes 98-105; the best episodes of ANY animated series.
Included on this DVD are the eps:
Vol 3; The Mysterious Red Sand The Fearsome Ice-Kander The Fearsome Jellyfish Lens The Indestructible Machine Mechanika Revenge! The Whale Operation -Extras include Clean closing animation, Commentary with Luci Christian (the english dub Jinpei) and Charles Campbell (ADR director), Gatchaman Karaoke, and ADV previews.
Vol 4; Hell's Speed Race (a Great Joe/Katse show--Katse almost unmasked!) A Critical Moment for Science Ninja Team Who is Governer X? (obviously, a good Sosai X show) Firebird vs. Fire Eating Dragon (A good Red Impulse Show) Giant Raging Mecha Ball A Neon Giant Who Laughs at the Dark extras: Clean Opening Animation, Clean Closing Animation, Commentary w/Victor Carsrud (Ryu), Gatch Karaoke, ADV Previews
Extras DVD Vol 2 (included in the Vol 3&4 box set) Joe Condor Profile Joe Character Sketch Episode Sketches Joe the Condor (English Dub) audition footage Interview w/Brian Jepson (Dub Joe) Gatchaman Publishing Gallery What is Gatchaman? Interview w/Alex Ross Gatchaman Manga Volume 1
Buy it because you'll enjoy it. Buy to support ADV's efforts. Buy it so you'll know what's going on in the next volumes when things start getting REALLY good!!!
PS: Vols 5&6, which are scheduled to be released in October, should contain the following stand-out episodes:
#29 "Gallack X, Demon Man": First appearance of the female general--she'll be very important later.
#32-33 "Grand Operation Gezora": The female general shows up with a plan to kidnap members of Gatchaman--who is the female general?? Hmm, time will tell...
#27 "Gallactor's Witch Racer": One of the first of many love affairs Joe has with a woman on the wrong side of right and wrong.
#31 "Plan to Assassinate Dr. Nambu": Joe get's into a rumble with a Gallactor Devil Star Assassin on the road (basically a hot female-killer with a mask), which causes him to think about how he lost his own parents. Joes triumphs, but his confrontation with the Devil star will come back to haunt him--ONE OF MY FAVORITE EPS OF THE SERIES.
#39-40 Jigokiller Parts 1&2: This two-parter is the first real display of Ken's feelings for Jun, and sheds more light on the Ken/Red Impulse connection.
#44 "Gallactor's Challenge": Dr. Nambu let's it slip that Ken's father is alive, but who can it be? Shouldn't be too hard to figure out if you're over 10 years old, but still a great episode.』
(Gatchaman enters a bit of a slump...) 『While many series go into a slump near the end of their runs, Gatchaman gets its slump out of the way early. The episodes incorporated in this box set are, unfortunately, some of the consistently weakest in the series. The worst offenders are Episodes 14 (involving the fearsome Ice-kandar), 16 (Mechanika), 18 -20 (the Whales, a "Speed Race through Hell", and the INFAMOUS PUPPY EPISODE). Episode 23, involving a giant bowling ball rampaging through the land is no great shakes either.
More enjoyable episodes in this run involve "the Fearsome Jellyfish Lens", "the Great Insect Operation", and "The Neon Giant that Smiles in the Dark".
Fortunately, from what I remember, the series will begin to pull out of its slump in the next two volumes. Yes, there will still be duff episodes, but there will be more classics sprinkled in as the run continues.
In my review for Collectors Box Set #1, I said this ADV adaptation was a not-too-embarrassing dub. With these two volumes, the dub takes giant strides into the cringe-worthy. The ADR people have upped the late-sixties to mid-seventies slang quotient to a point where it looks like they are using it as a crutch. The dub-Ken's catchphrase looks like it is going to be "I can dig it" or variations thereof. The slang is cute when used sparingly, as it was in the first two volumes. It becomes obnoxious when it's used as a sledgehammer.
Despite my lackluster review of this particualar box set, I'm still looking forward to seeing the rest of the series adapted, especially the episodes of the second year.』 『Casual fans will pick it up for Battle of the Planets or G-Force nostalgia. Otaku will pick it up because it's part of the canon. Comics fans will pick it up for the Alex Ross boxart. Gatchaman has something for everyone!』

Atom is taken in by the Minister of Science and becomes a force for good, battling for the rights of humans and robots alike.
I'm lukewarm on this series. I appreciate that the Japanese language track was made available in this set, as it is far superior to the dubbed version. I was also interested in the world of this series and the darkness that is often revealed in the episodes. This is quite a violent series, even gruesome if you identify with the robot characters in the way that you are meant to, as they are often dismembered and destroyed in these episodes.
There are other factors that mitigated my enjoyment. Although he is renowned internationally as the God of Manga, I have never shared Tezuka Osamu's aesthetic, which features characters that are either kewpie-doll cutesy or grotesqueries with outrageous noses. Although several of the episodes were engaging, there was far too much of the sappy sentimentality which is so common on Japanese television. After watching several of the programs, it became far too easy to see where the stories were going--who would die, what the big "surprise" would be, and what kind of lesson Atom was going to learn. 』
(BUY IT - YOU'LL LOVE IT) 『If you love excellent animation and thoughtful thought-provoking stories, this is a remarkable series that adults and children will find entertaining and touching. For a robot with such tremendous strength and power Astro Boy has a very human-like tenderness to his character, and a startling level of gentleness to his perception of the people around him, risking his own destruction time and again without hesitation to help others who are dire need. Astro Boy wants.., like so many people do..., to fit in and be accepted as a peer, as a friend, as a trusted persona in his community. But, as a robot, he encounters prejudice, mistrust, and even contempt from people who find it hard to accept a being so differently constructed than themselves. But Astro Boy faces this with a persistent good natured intent to prove himself as an ally to all people. There is no moral equivocation in this series. Astro Boy is always on the side of doing right, defending the innocent against the evil. Though we see some of the beginnings of Astro Boy and his creation, and how he came to be under the care of the professor, there are mysteries that slowly come to light about his construction and where his genesis took place. And on top of all that, there's even a very catchy theme song for the series. This is well worth the investment. The DVD's functioned perfectly and come in well designed protective sleeves in the box. The video visuals were very clear and coloful and the sound is excellent. I highly recommend this series. Also, if you are confused by all the different various "Astro Boy" dvd's and sets that are available for sale out there, stick with this one. I have seen all the Astro Boy titles that are available and this "Astro Boy Collection Box Set" is the best of them all.

(to reduce some confusion) 『to reduce confusion of Astro Boy DVD series, please note that there have been 3 series so far: the Black and White 1963 series, the 1980 First Color version, and the 2003 Color version with different stories.
The black and white 1963 version has 193 episodes.
The 1980 version has 52 episodes for the Japanese version, with the first and second episodes merged and cut into 1 episode as the US version. The birth of the character Atlas is removed in the US version. As a result, the US version only has 51 episodes.
The 2003 version has 50 episodes. This version once again has one more episode in the Japanese version. The US version has 1 episode less, which is replaced by a "clip show episode". (probably meaning frame by frame). Personally, I think the 1980 version is slightly cuter than the 2003 version. The 2003 version is more lavish.

Now, this "red box" edition is the 1980 series. When you think about it, for 30 something dollars, and you get 51 episodes, which is like 60 cents per episode, it is really a very good deal.』
(If you like Kimba) 『I bought Kimba for my kids, since I wanted cartoons that taught values and I didn't want the vacant all flashes and lights cartoons. I also wanted short 20 minute cartoons so that they wouldn't see too much TV a one time. They saw all 52 episodes multiple times, what a bargain. When I needed more material, I checked out material from Osamu Tezuka the creator of Kimba and found Astro boy box set Astro Boy Collection Box Set (1980) . This is the collection to buy there's another (black cover 2003 edition) that has converted Astro Boy in an all Flashes, music cartoon. I believe that Astro boy for young kids is absolutely wonderful. It contain a great story line, great quality (colour version), and it delivers a message! The music is catchy.
If you like Kimba, buy this collection for your kids, and for you, if you one of those parents that convert seeing TV in a family activity.
Box that I recommend and that I purchased:

(He's soaring high in the skies!) 『Tezuka was quite the genius. First, the 1963 Astro Boy cartoon (along with the comics from the 50's and 60's), then this version which appeared in the early 80's, then the 2003 edition (although Tezuka has already passed by this point). If you are an Astro fan, then you'll appreciate this set. However, the acting is dull and lifeless, and the action is a bit off. However, this set is a must have for Astro fans.
If you get this, be sure to get the 60's and 2003 edition!
』 『Studio: Starz/sphe Release Date: 11/22/2005』 『Although Osamu Tezuka'sComplete Mangaruns to 300 volumes and his filmography as a writer, producer, and/or director includes more than 70 shorts, features, and TV series,Astro Boy--including this 1980 remake--remains his iconic creation. Tezuka wrote many of the scripts for the second version, and he and Noboru Ishiguro are listed as co-directors. Created by Dr. Boynton to replace his dead son, Astro is a 100,000-horsepower super-robot with jets in his legs, lasers in his fingers, and a gun in his derrière. His round head and goo-goo eyes reflect Tezuka's affection for the old Fleischers cartoons. Astro overcomes criminals, people who use robots for evil purposes or who harbor anti-robot prejudice, and Atlas, a robot who wants to rule the world. In these struggles, Astro never loses his temper, holds a grudge, or feels temptation. Tezuka wanted him to embody the virtues of selflessness and compassion, but his naive, unflagging goodness makes him a rather dull character.
The color version ofAstro Boyis better animated than the 1963 original, which relied heavily on cycles and reused footage. But the stolid timing robs the action scenes of the punch they should pack. The English dub is equally flat, with little inflection or acting to communicate the characters' emotions. The faded prints have been restored to their original colors. Characters are called by their English names in the dialogue but by their Japanese names in subtitles (e.g., Dr. Boynton becomes Dr. Tenma). Among the extras are several deleted scenes, including one of Tezuka introducing "Astro's First Love." Tezuka devotees and fans who grew up watching the color version on TV will want this set, but the original, black-and-white series remains the definitiveAstro Boy.
