All the characters have basically remained the same, except Piccolo recieves barely any screen time if any really. Disappointing to say the least. The first two disc I admitt don't inspire much interest with unimpressive characters such as Ludd and Lord Don Chi. However, once General Rildo and Dr. Myuu arrive the story picks up the pace and actually gets interesting. There are great battles and Baby is one bad ass villan in himself.』
(Pretty Good) 『Watched DragonBall/DragonBall Z all the time as a kid and never got to see the new GT episodes. I bought this and it brought back a lot of fond memories from when I was a kid. There is a lot of talking and stretching things out just like in the the shows I remember but there is significantly less action the the Dragonball Z series. It has a pretty good story and a strong recommendation for any fans of the show.』
(DragonBall GT, Season One) 『My son saw this series years ago on TV. He used birthday money to buy it, and was pleased with it.』
(worth seeing after all) 『This dbgt is quite different then dbz but it had to change. The characters couldnt just stay the same age and stuff.Although the change was quite drastic still this season still has some of the spirit of dbz.And if peolpe dont like it then dont watch it.Its simply not dbz so thats why its different. Some of the episodes are quite dry though. But the first episode of this season and about the last 10 episodes of this season are the best and are worth watching for any true dbz fan.』

』 『Dragon Ball GT(1996), the third animated series based on Akira Toriyama's manga, takes place ten years after the final episode ofDragon Ball Z. Things have changed: Trunks is the president of the Capsule Corporation; Gohan has married Videl. Goku's old enemy Pilaf invades the Celestial Realm to seize the ultra-powerful Black Dragon Balls, but he messes up his wish and asks that Goku be reduced to a child. King Kai warns that the Black Dragon Balls, which have scattered among the stars, must be returned to Earth within a year or the planet will explode. Goku and Trunks set off to find them, accompanied by Pan, Gohan's obnoxious daughter. After fighting a number of underlings, the trio finally meets the main villain of the series: Baby, the last survivor of the Tuffle (originally Tsufrulian) race. A nasty creature with a head like a crescent moon, Baby can infiltrate the bodies of others and absorb their energy. He wants to acquire the power of the Saiyans and subjugate the galaxy. Quite a number of battles ensue, and Goku has to have his tail restored to give him the power to tackle Baby. The filmmakers undercut their efforts to create excitement by being silly. Buu and Uub reunite to form Majuub, but he fights by turning his foes into chocolate. The story also lacks originality: when Trunks is caught in a metal trap by General Rilldo, it's too obviously copied from Han Solo's emprisonment in the block of carbonite. BothDragon BallandDragon Ball Zwere boys' clubs: Goku and the Z-fighters trained together, fought common enemies and sought to become the strongest. Creating a major role for a girl in the series was a worthwhile idea, but the filmmakers make too Pan whiny and fussy to fit into the rough and tumble world. The weakest entry in theDragon Ballsaga,GTonly ran for 64 episodes. (Rated TV PG, suitable for ages 8 and up: violence, violence against women, alcohol use, nudity)--Charles Solomon

(Gaara, you don't look so good) 『After seeing this volume of Naruto and seeing Gaara's true form. I would be very inclined to leave this guy the hell alone if at all possible. Anyone that claims their only purpose in life or sense of fulfillment is to kill. They need a WHOLE lot of alone time and a nice little spot in hell all by themselves. Gaara's gone through some major trauma in his childhood and while i feel for him. He has an evil sand spirit inside of him that will eventually take him over. He was shunned and belittled all the time when he was a little kid.
Yes it sucks and its sad, but others have gone through that in the show like (Naruto) for example and has the Nine Tail Fox spirit inside of him and went through the same stuff. The difference being he knows that with his friends and loved ones he can and will accomplish almost anything he wants. You aren't stronger by yourself or just caring for yourself and no one else thats a lonely way of life that Gaara clings to. He soon finds out that through those friends that he will never. That they give you something more to fight for which makes you more powerful than he could ever dream of.
With that being said him and Sasuke have their day of battle at the Exam but it is put on hold after the Hidden Leaf village is attacked in a well coordinated and planned move by Orochimaru (former student) to the current Hokage. Who's just as wacked out on crazy as Gaara plus a little bit more (experimenting on people even your own). Hokage is kidnapped by him and they are in their battle for their very lives. Several other battles are taking place between other students in the Exam as well. Plus a well times reentry by everyone's favorite "Pervy Sage" as Naruto so nicely puts it as well.
It makes for one excellent Volume 6 of this popular and still growing Anime series. Naruto is something that anyone can pretty much get into and while it looks mild in action. It isnt really something for kids to be watching unless your watching the version of it on Cartoon Network which is pretty mild. While compared to this Uncut version at least.
I look forward to the next volume as Naruto steps in when Sasuke is running on empty and Sakura is in danger (again..:). He faces off with Gaara and shows more promise than anyone ever thought he could possibly have.
It's a series that needs to be looked at from the beginning and believe it. You'll get into it like so many others already have.』
(Naruto = DBZ) 『I've loved the Naruto series up until this point in Volume 6. The constant repeats of scenes from previous episodes get a bit excessive and the non-stop chatter between characters doing the same exact thing several minutes ago (aka the Third Hokage is pulling out Orochimaru's soul scene). I wished the dvds had the option of removing the annoying "extra" scenes and stick with the manga-style storyline. Because of this, Naruto episodes are beginning to become Dragon Ball Z episodes where we're blasted with Gohan and the others screaming at the top of their lungs for the entire episode that is absolutely pointless and annoying.』
(good stuff) 『i have no idea about the item but what I can tell you is my husband how loved naruto Loves all the boxsets that I order and I get themm all from Amazon. I give it a 10 out of 10.』
(crazy awsome) 『this is awsome really great why bother watching it on cartoon net work when you can see the uncut versions this is so cool a awsome series.』 『DVD box set with 14 episodes. Featuring original and uncut episodes!
Sasuke returns at last to face Gaara in the final round of the Chunin Exam with his powerful new jutsu, Chidori. But the match is interrupted when Orochimaru's scheme to bring down the Hidden Leaf Village is put into motion. While the Third Hokage faces his former protégé Orochimaru and his dreadful forbidden jutsu, Sasuke takes off after Gaara and the Sand ninja, and Naruto, Sakura, and Shikamaru take off after Sasuke! Will the ninja of the Hidden Leaf survive the evil that has befallen them?
Includes Collectible Naruto storyboards booklet!』 『As the hit fantasy-adventureNarutocontinues, Sasuke must face Gaara in the final round of the Chunin Exams, a match that has a greater significance than either participant realizes. The students face off while Sand and Wind ninja attack the Hidden Leaf Village. The attack has been planned by the evil Orochimaru, who was once a student of the Lord Hokage of the Leaf Village. The fight between Sasuke and Gaara, who repeatedly proclaims he lives only to kill, is an essential part of Orochimaru's scheme: he hopes to take over Sasuke's body and keep himself perennially young, using a forbiddenjutsu(magical technique). But Sasuke overcomes Gaara's clouds of enchanted sand and wounds his psychopathic foe. Other students from the Sand Village spirit Gaara away, with Sasuke in pursuit; Kakashi-sensei summons up Pakkun, the ninja dog, and tells him to lead Naruto and Sakura to Sasuke. Between battles, the filmmakers offer flashbacks of the lonely, bitter childhood that warped Gaara's personality. Naruto, who was also rejected as a child, understands what Gaara suffered, but he's reduced to a minor player in these episodes. Volume 6 ranks as the darkest and least comic installment to date in the saga of Naruto Uzumaki. Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Highly Recommended for Non-Anime Fans, Too) 『Samurai Champloo is a wonderful series, certainly the best anime I have ever had the pleasure of watching and is, indeed, one of the best series I've watched in any animated or filmed medium. As a person who isn't a regular anime viewer, I find this show to be very accessible and enjoyable even to people who aren't familiar with the medium.
The animation is smooth, clean, and fluid, more so than one often finds in anime, and the action is fast-paced and well-choreographed, always interesting to watch and never interrupted by lengthy dialogue. It's easy to tell that the artists worked very hard to create visually interesting and pleasing characters and settings. The animation in every single scene is infused with a sense of care and precision that is never lazy or sloppy. The level of detail ranges scene-to-scene from strikingly intricate to beautifully minimalistic, and yet the two styles blend together so well that neither ever seems out of place. Overall, the visuals are very artistic and colorful, be they contemporary graffiti art murals or traditional Japanese landscapes.
The hip hop themes and other anachronisms seem completely compatible with the old-world samurai setting, as well. The tone of the series, overall, is edgy and contemporary, and no fuss is made about what is and isn't accurate to history, so meeting characters with bleached blond hair, wearing Ray Bans, and beat boxing doesn't come across as all that outlandish.
The music is profoundly eclectic and always enjoyable. There's hip hop, of course, opening and closing nearly every episode as well as underscoring quite a few scenes, but mixed in is also a fine selection of more traditional tunes including hauntingly subdued Japanese folk songs.
And, for the pleasure of the scholars and poets in the audience, the series is packed with metaphors, symbols, motifs, and other references that add a deliciously deeper level of meaning to the goings-on in the characters' lives. Watching the series once will satisfy anyone interested in the plot, but watching it over again in order to excavate and research the references would be well worth the effort. (An excellent and highly-recommended companion to the anime is the Samurai Champloo Roman Album, full of cultural and historical notes as well as information about what inspired the series. Roman Album: Samurai Champloo)
As for this boxed set itself, it's a very nice collection, compact, clean, and handsome-looking on a shelf. Each of the seven discs is labeled and numbered according to its order in the series, and each disc comes in its own ultra-thin case. Each case, furthermore, sports its own unique collage of Samurai Champloo art on the front cover and the disc's episode listings and screen grabs on the back cover. Plus, printed on the reverse side of each case's cover are interviews with many of the show's creators which offer perspectives on different elements of the series' creation, including script writing, music recording, character design, and series direction. All of this is packaged neatly inside a glossy black cardboard box bearing the title of the series and an image of each of the three main characters.
The series has been dubbed in English and will play automatically on this setting, but I recommend going into the setup menu and enabling the original Japanese voices with English subtitles. The series is so steeped in rich Japanese culture and the Japanese actors are so superb that watching the episodes in English seems silly. In fact, the English dubs may even dull the clarity of an otherwise finely-crafted piece of art.
(Note that this collection provides audio in both Japanese and English, but subtitles only in English.)』
(Great series... well worth getting) 『WOW... I dont think I can say enough good things about this series. If you are a fan of anime, then just get this... you wont be disappointed. My favorite episode, hands down, is#23 Baseball Blues on Volume 6』
(Samurai fighting to hip-hop music? Cool.) 『It's hard to take "Samurai Champloo" too seriously. The series features a breakdancing samurai, hip-hop music, beatboxing and rapping.
But "Samurai Champloo" is a masterpiece in light comedy, action and even a compelling story involving a daughter of a samurai who smells of sunflowers.
As the two samurai heroes say in episode two, there's something silly about a samurai who smells of sunflowers. However, this series truly shows off some of the best battles ever seen in an anime, embellished with the gorgeous environment of ancient Japan. There's a wide variety of stories, from a complex episode about a dying mother, an episode about the origins of Japanese manga and even an episode about a traveling geisha.
There's just one catch--the series is chock full of hip-hop references. Episode 8 alone is a goofy comedy tidbit about a samurai traveling the world with a beatboxing companion. Episode 16 features three samurai travelers rapping rumors they've heard on the road. Episode 18 gives us a closer look at the dangerous life of taggers in ancient Japan.
Okay, maybe this isn't the most realistic period piece series ever made. However, this series has so much fun with blending hip-hop, Christian missionaries and samurai fighting together that one can't resist loving this series.
It's no surprise that this is one of the most accessible action anime series around. Director Shinichiro Watanabe, responsible for the excellent series "Cowboy Bebop," has a flair for creating some of the slickest battle sequences ever made. His storylines might be more simplistic than, say, "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex." However, this is exactly why American audiences enjoy his anime series the most. They are simple stories of men who fight for something they care for.
There's no better time to buy the box set of "Samurai Champloo." The box set is $30 cheaper than the Geneon set, so anime fans have to get this collection. Hands down, this is one of my absolute favorites.』
("...the mental blade cut through flesh and bone...") 『Ok so the "...sharp like the an edge of a samurai sword..." title was already taken! This is one of my favorite animes period, its the perfect blend of action, drama, comedy, and hip-hop! Mugen is hilarious, Jin is real mello and Fuu, well Fuu is Fuu! This is one of those animes thats a must own must see. I also recommend a soundtrack of some sort theres several to choose from 'cause the music in this show is pretty fresh, I own Samurai Champloo Music Record Katana. So while you enjoy the show just remember, "...though my mind's at peace, the worlds out of order, missing the inner heat, life gets colder..."!』
(a samurai period piece... and hip hop) 『Mugen is a cocky, rebellious, bandy-legged fighter who incorporates break-dancing techniques into his unorthodox fighting style. Jin is more your typically calm and stoic samurai (or ronin, to be more precise), steeped in martial tradition, who finds satisfaction in the perfect execution of his warrior craft. Mugen and Jin aren't friends - in fact, they are contentious and want to test their skills against each other - yet they find themselves joining forces, thanks to Fuu, an insistent and kinda quirky waitress who inveigles the two into helping her search for the Samurai Who Smells Like Sunflowers. For 26 episodes, the discordant trio undergo many adventures, some serious, some hilarious, some just plain out weird. The only constants are the bickerings amongst the three, the scrounging for food, and the intrusion of modern day sensibilities. Oh, and the rampant butt kicking as done by Mugen and Jin.
On the heels of his popular Cowboy Bebop anime series, Shinichiro Watanabe decided to put a new spin on the samurai anime with his irreverent, hip Samurai Shamploo. Shamploo means "stir fry" or a mix, and this is certainly what this series is about, as it fuses the traditional samurai credo and decorum with the unexpected modern day incursions of hip hop attitudes, beatboxing, street tagging, and baseball. The episodes are supported by cool Japanese hip hop music soundtracks and blazing hip hop scratches for scene segues. Watanabe also makes beautiful use of visual metaphors, thereby adding more depth to the shenanigans. The ripping animation and dynamically constructed fight scenes are guaranteed not to disappoint.
Kudos, too, to the voice actors, especially Steven Jay Blum (aka Daniel Andrews, who also voiced Cowboy Bebop's Spike) as the bestial Mugen. Kirk Thornton as Jin and Kari Wahlgren as Fuu are both excellent. The voice actor for the sometimes series narrator Policeman Sakami Manzou ("the Saw") is also very good.
These episodes are definitely rated PG-13. This anime series doesn't hesitate to throw in scenes of drug use and graphic violence. Some episodes even contain mild sexual scenes.
My favorite episodes are "The Art of Altercation" (for the rapping samurai and his beatbox backup), the atmospheric "Cosmic Collisions" (where the trio fight the undead), the hilarious "Baseball Blues" (where the American pitcher couldn't find the strike zone with the dog at bat, and he ends up inadvertently hitting the mutt - not to worry, no animated dogs were hurt in the making of this anime), and the concluding 3-episode arc "Evanescent Encounter" (where Mugen and Jin are challenged to their very limits, resolve their rivalry, and Fuu at last catches up to the Sunflower Samurai).
Here are the 26 episodes (American titles first, with the original Japanese titles in parenthesis):
- "Tempestuous Temperaments" ("Storm and Stress") Episode 1 - "Redeye Reprisal" ("Veritable Pandemonium") Episode 2 - "Hellhounds for Hire" Parts One&Two ("Tacit Understanding") Episode 3-4 - "Artistic Anarchy" ("Utter Indifference") Episode 5 - "Stranger Searching" ("RedHeaded Foreigner") Episode 6 - "A Risky Racket" ("Surrounded on All Sides") Episode 7 - "The Art of Altercation" ("Self-Conceit") Episode 8 - "Beatbox Bandits" ("Evil Spirits") Episode 9 - "Lethal Lunacy" ("Fighting Fire with Fire") Episode 10 - "Gamblers and Gallantry" ("Fallen Angels") Episode 11 - "The Disorder Diaries" ("Learning from the Past") Episode 12 - "Misguided Miscreants" Parts One&Two ("Dark Night's Road") Episode 13-14 - "Bogus Booty" ("Through and Through") Episode 15 - "Lullabies of the Lost" Verses One&Two ("Idling One's Life Away") Episode 16-17 - "War of the Words" ("Pen in One Hand, Sword in the Other") Episode 18 - "Unholy Union" ("Karma and Retribution") Episode 19 - "Elegy of Entrapment" Verses One&Two ("Generous Elegy") Episode 20-21 - "Cosmic Collisions" ("Anger Shot Toward Heaven") Episode 22 - "Baseball Blues" ("Heart and Soul into the Ball") Episode 23 - "Evanescent Encounter" Parts One - Three ("Circle of Transmigration") Episode 24-26』 『Mugen’s a buck-wild warrior -- violent, thoughtless and womanizing. Jin is a vagrant ronin -- mysterious, traditional, well-mannered and very strong as well. These two fiercely independent warriors can’t be any more different from one another, yet their paths cross when Fuu, a ditzy waitress, savesthem from being executed when they are arrested after a violent swordfight. Not yet released Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (looking forward to this) 『first of all, I'm a HUGE fan of the series i have all 16 box sets of the original and the 2 single dvds of Naruto Shippuden that have come out as well (i have the other 2 on pre-order). I never thought i would like an anime as much as i liked the dragonball series but in my opinion; naruto, pound for pound is a better anime. i say this because the stories in my opinion are better written, and just the amount of detail put into the show in its entirety is really impressive. Don't get me wrong, the original naruto series did drag for quite a while, but the shippuden continuation is amazing, ive watched all the episodes in japanese all the way up to episode 135 and have read up to the 471st volume of the manga and the whole premise of the show and the action thats coming up just gets better and better. in my opinion the show is much better in Japanese but i do enjoy watching the English dubbed as well. the box set is definitely worth the buy, it kinda stinks because it stops just short of the battle between sakura, and elder chiyo vs. sasori which was quite good. hopefully the box sets will come out like the original series which was like one a month but i doubt it. Oh and if you guys want to watch naruto shippuden online go to [...], its a great site they have hd episodes, you can watch all of the movies and read the manga as well.』
(Quick to box set....nice) 『Surprised that with individual Shippuden Vol1 and Vol2 just out and Vol3 at the end of the month (Nov '09) its nice to see a 3 volume box set for release 2 months later in January '10. I thought we'd all have to wait a lot longer for a slightly more economical way to get our Naruto fix. With the original Naruto seems like they released all the individual DVD before they started on the 3 DVD boxes..I'm happy to see this box set for Shippuden so quickly. I'd fully expect this be exactly what you get in the individual volumes DVD wise - perhaps lacking some inserts with the individual DVD releases. So I'd fully expect the same English dub and Japanese w/English subs.
Oh yes..review:Naruto is one of the best anime and Shippuden continues the story line 2.5 years (in Naruto time) after the final of the 50 or so enjoyable, but mostly filler Naruto episodes. Watch it.』
(Naruto Fan-heads will smile, but casual fans will rejoice!) 『Though the information provided for this box set is sketchy at least, and unless the distribution company intends to ration content as it has been for American audiences of this series, then I'll say that it's arguably reasonable to assume that this will get the same treatment as the prior American box set releases. Generally, American seasons for shows number between 13-24, and since the other Naruto box set releases number in the teens and run approximately 325 minutes, it's safe to say that the distribution company won't plan to indulge us by giving any more than what they have been selling.
Having said that, THIS IS IT!!! This what us hardcore AND casual fans have been waiting for! Now as far as I go, I'm a casual fan and was introduced to this series through cartoon network, but I ignored it for some time because it aired along with the lightweight daytime programming geared to the kiddies. Once I gave it a chance, and maybe two because it started slow, I soon gave it my full attention and total immersion. Hearing that the story continues in another series arc versus the notorious bulk drone-episodes after the Naruto and Sasuke battle has concluded, spawned such worry: When will it be released? Will it be dubbed? Will they have the same voice actors? and if you've cheated and have seen a few of the free subtitled episodes on the net, Will the content be maintained?
Shippunden is the true continuation of the Naruto mythos, the characters have aged and progressed in ability and the story grows darker. For those who are still hanging on until this box set arrives in late January, allow me to ease your worries:
-Yes, it dubbed n English -Yes, they utilize the same vocal talents (though I'm not sure of all characters) and they've even changed ever so slightly to denote their age difference.
However, there are some worries for the fanheads, but I'm sure that you know already:
-Though due to the content, I'm sure quite a few of you doubt that Cartoon network will ever bring it back to their normal schedule therefore editing it to death...eh, don't doubt it, so far the colorful and gratuitous profanity beloved in the original Japanese dialogue has been rewritten for virgin ears as if it does plan to return to cartoon network, possibly for adult swim because I do believe they use the words "hell" and "ass"...I know...but I'm not an expert and this opinion is based on the first four episodes of the show. So don't forget to tilt your head like a suspicious puppy when you see the word 'Uncut' in chunky-font under the title.
Other than that ladies and gentlmen, enjoy this with those who can't stomach subtitles and prepare to re-engage in the story, this series starts off with a satisfying bang and is worth experiencing in bulk!

(Excited, but need more info) 『Obviously there needs to be better info on this product before many fans will buy it, I'm we'll learn more as it gets closer to its release. First off, being as Naruto Shippuden is already being dubbed in English and that the this new Box cover is in English, I would bet this will have both language dubs. Second, the single disc sets have 4 episodes on them with an approximate runtime of 100 minutes. This Box set comes with 3 discs and is also listed with a runtime of 100 minutes. I would assume this is not true, or is just talking about one of the included discs. Nevertheless, I'm really excited to see Naruto Shippuden Box Sets this early. Usually you don't see box sets for a long time and have to deal with the single disc volumes which can be expensive. I'm sure the info everyone is looking for will arrive soon.』
(Is it dubbed?) 『I only want to know if the Box Set is dubbed in english or not. I know 4 volumes have been made english dubbed so the first box set should be aswell. If it is made known on this page that it is english dubbed i will definetly purchase it via amazon.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great series, DVDs however not worth paying full price for.) 『As I commented to someone who said they didn't understand the series after watching the first couple episodes, the first half of Naruto is really just to setup the environment for the real story. It places you in a world of Ninjas, some people even make careers out of it. Young kids and teens in this universe strive to become the best ninjas they can. They also live through normal teen events, like crushes and making and losing friends.
But then the REAL story starts to unfold, and the plot thickens. We learn about dirty politics, secrets pasts, and a darker history. There are lost of subplots as well, filling up an already large story universe. All the while, our young protagonists have to live and fight through it all.
It's been awhile since these earlier volumes have been released. I highly recommend buying these used for a cheaper price. The DVDs simply are not worth paying full price for. Mainly due to the fact you can easily watch these episodes online for free (or in some cases, even download for free.) There are numerous Naruto fan sites online that have the episodes, both subbed and dubbed archived.』
(uncut action 100%) 『this was a ggod start but i wish that viz media chould have two scripts for the voice actors, one for the edited kiddish version, and one for the teen and adult version, i just hate it wheb the characters dont cuss and say what they really mean to say, cuss words would make this series as funny as bleach! but 3/5 sorry......』
(The product got on time and on grate condotion. i'm very happy with the result.) 『The product got on time and on grate condotion. i'm very happy with the result.』
(Perhaps the workst anime series ever.) 『This has to be one of the worst anime series I've seen, and I've seen 240 anime series. Now that's saying a lot.
Ok now on to some of the things that made it so bad. First is the so called story that's supposed to take place I guess two hundred years ago. Yet they have tv and radio, so when the heck is this anime supposed to take place. Now as for the story which makes no lick of sense to me revolves around Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke on a journey to become the best ninjas. Which wouldn't have been so bad had the creators focused on one type of anime instead of over blowing three of them from comedy, drama, action. Just focus one one and have the other two has secondary. Next lets move on to perhaps the worst part of the the show, the characters. I'll focus on Naruto. He is perhaps the most annoying main character I've seen in a anime series. Every episode I watched, I wanted him to die more and more, I couldn't look past him in the show. The other two main characters weren't nearly as bad as him, I might have given a littlebetter score if they got rid of Naruto and focused on Sakura and Sasuke. Ok moving on to the so called action. First it's ridiculous, not very exciting, and drawn out through 2 to 3 episodes. Finally there's the length of the so called series. There's 240 episodes, plus another series, a few movies and some OVAs. I truly believe the creators and the company that own Naruto are just milking pre-teen and young teenagers of their and their parents money. Now don't get me wrong I know studios are trying to make money, but theirs a difference between making money and ripping people off.
So please don't support this show anymore.』
(Naruto is great) 『but the box set is utterly lacking. Naruto as a series is a great anime, one of Japan's greatest, but the box sets divides the series up into twelve episodes each, which is a huge rip-off. Anime should always be divided by seasons, like the Bleach box set. Oh well, I guess this s my first and last purchase of a Naruto box set. [...]. Here's a hint; Naruto has 209 dubbed episodes. Divide that by twelve and you get 16, though they'll probably release a 17th for the last episodes and some special features. [...]. If you're a collector then go for it, but otherwise don't waste your time, or your money.』 『Deep within the Hidden Leaf Village, sharp and cunning Ninja carry an ultimate power while Naruto Uzumaki carries inside the ultimate secret.Twelve years ago, the fourth Hokage sacrificed himself and saved the village by sealing the Nine-tailed Fox Spirit an orphaned baby boy. Now, this plucky prankster must do what it takes achieve this life-long goal and become the next Hokage!Comes with a collectible Naruto storyboards booklet.325 minutesAudio: English, JapaneseSubtitles: English』 『Although someotaku(hardcore fans) have complained about the editing of the English dub of the popular ninja fantasy-adventureNaruto, theUncut Box Setreveals the edits were quite minor. There's a little more blood in some of the fight scenes, and the opening and closing titles are the Japanese originals. In episode 3, Naruto's stomach problems are presented more vividly, and Kakashi delivers a more explicit jab to Naruto's butt in episode 4. More revealing differences turn up in the subtitles: In the English dub, Naruto declares he wants to become a great ninja so the whole village "will start treating me like somebody important"; in the original, it's "will acknowledge my existence." The three-discUncut Box, which includes the bound storyboards for Episode 8 (in Japanese), is a good buy. The first 13 episodes include Naruto's graduation from the Ninja Academy and his assignment to a team with Sakura (on whom he nurtures a crush) and Sasuke, his arch-rival. The reluctant trio begins to learn how to work as a team on their first mission under the supervision of Kakashi. The exoticjutsu(ninja techniques), stylized fights and slapstick comedy will keep anyNarutofan happy. I have all of the sets and they are all great. The anime on this set is great, to me it is no diffterent then on the other sets. So what these are fillers they are still great. They are well worth the money.』
(The start of 85 filler episodes) 『What more can be said that hasn't been said already? This is the first of six boxes that will contain the 85 "filler" episodes of Naruto. For those who don't know what defines an episode as filler it is the fact that the episode(s) in question are not based on the manga in which the series Naruto is derived. (Manga are Japanese comic books).
(The following review will contain minimal spoilers)
Now are these episodes actually worth the purchase? In my opinion yes they are worth the $30-35 you can find these sets for. The first story arc is six episodes long and follows Naruto, Sakura, and Jiraiya as they attempt to infiltrate Orochimaru's lair in pursuit of Sasuke. I thought the first half of this story was decent for what it was but quickly turned, for lack of a better word, weird. I also noticed that the premise of this series has been changing little by little since the very beginning of the show-less focus on Jutsu and more on just 'power,' which reminds me of Dragon Ball Z a bit. Now the second story arc brings back and old foe from the first season. Like the previous arc: started off great but seemed drug out a bit, but definitely watchable. Additionally there is a noticeable dip in animation quality as other reviewers have pointed out; not that Naruto was ever known for it's stellar animation. As of now we have covered the first twelve episodes of this fourteen episode set. Wrapping things up we have the beginning of a third story arc involving Naruto, Hinata, Shino, and Kiba searching for a special kind of insect they hope can assist them in their search for Sasuke.
Overall this set was definitely the worst of the eleven thus far, but as I stated earlier, definitely worth the thirty or so dollars if you are already a fan of the series. I was fortunate to dive into this set with the prior knowledge that this box contained sub-par filler episodes and such did not have high expectations.
I will be reviewing the remaining Naruto filler sets as they are released if you are interested in reading more of my reviews.』
(Fantastic Anime Series) 『This is a series that you must have. Lots of action and great graphics.』
(My Grandson was thrilled.) 『Purchased this for my Grandson he has everyone in the series. He couldn't believe I had been able to get the latest one. He had his before any of his friends. Amazon was great getting it out in time for Christmas.』
(Not great, but not horrible either. 3 1/2 stars.) 『With this box set we see the start of a long string of filler episodes in Naruto.
Personally I have mixed feelings about these episodes. While none of the filler arcs have much depth and aren't nearly as engrossing as the main story, they can still be fun to watch. In fact, some of them are fairly interesting. We get to see a more obscure character like Mizuki get fleshed out a bit more, and, canonical or not, it actually gives him a motive for his actions in the first episode.
In conclusion if you want some extra Naruto and don't mind filler, then you won't be wasting your money on this set. However, if you want to see the story actually progress, save up and wait for Shippuden to come out.』 『Sasuke has gone to Orochimaru, and Sakura and Naruto are determined to get him back! Jiraiya, concerned they'll act recklessly, persuades Tsunade to send them on an official mission to the Land of Rice Paddies, hoping to discover Orochimaru's hideout. With Jiraiya at their side, can they fail to bring Sasuke back? Then, an escape from a maximum security prison brings Naruto a blast from the past! Mizuki, the teacher who long ago betrayed the Leaf, is on the loose, and Iruka once again joins Naruto in pursuit of the renegade ninja!
Original and uncut episodes 136-149 / English dubbed / Japanese with optional English subtitles』 『The 11th Box Set ofNarutoencompasses most of Season 6 of the runaway hit ninja adventure. Although he was badly wounded by Sasuke when they fought at Final Lake, Naruto insists he will find his former teammate and bring him back to the Hidden Leaf Village. With that aim in mind, he, Sakura, and "Pervy Sage" Jiraiya search for Orochimaru's lair near the Hidden Sound Village. Although they fail to find the headquarters, they help restore the honor of the Fuma Clan of ninja. Unhappy with her performance on the battlefield, Sakura decides to become a medical ninja and begins studying as Lady Tsunade's apprentice. A second adventure brings back Naruto's old teacher and nemesis Mizuki, who tried to steal the Sealing Scroll: New evidence reveals that Orochimaru was behind that scheme. Mizuki escapes from prison with two grotesque brothers who resemble Sumo wrestlers. Naruto, Kakashi-sensei and Pakkun the summoning dog pursue Mizuki, who ultimately receives justice at his own hand. While Sakura pursues her medical studies, Naruto joins Hinata, Shino, and Kiba in an expedition to find the extremely rare Bikoshu Beetle that might be able to track down Sasuke--no one in the Hidden Leaf Village has any clue as to where he's gone. In these episodes, Orochimaru may remind viewers of Naraku inInu-Yasha: an evil mastermind who seems less threatening that he should because he uses subordinates to fight the heroes, rather than engaging them himself. (Almost Good) 『The outside didnt show up in perfect condition, but that was listed in the desription and i expected that. what I didnt expect was that the second disc in the set did not work at all, on any player or system, this wasn't in the description. Seeing as my favorite episode is on that disc I was very disappointed. My suggestion to future sales, test your product before sending it out.』
(The fourth volume of the Naruto DVD box sets) 『Naruto Uncut Box Set 4 is a three DVD disc set that contains episodes thirty-nine through fifty-two of Naruto. The first disc contains five episodes, the second disc contains four episodes, and the third disc contains four episodes and the special features. This set contains the final thirteen episodes of the first season of Naruto. These episodes focus on the one-on-one battles during the Chunin exam, and several of the episodes contain backstory for some of the characters. By the end of this set, I was much more interested in these characters than I had been while watching the previous three sets.
The first special feature on the set is labeled as "Production Art." This consists of ten pages, and all ten pages are model sketches of some of the Naruto characters. There is also "From Sketch to Screen," which contains eight pages of storyboards from episode forty. For each storyboard, you can choose to see the clip that the storyboard is for. You can also see the English credits in the "Extras" menu. These are the exact same English credits that appear on the previous three DVD sets of Naruto, and they are just as hard to watch as they were on the previous three sets. There is also a sneak preview of the next Naruto box set, trailers for other Shonen Jump Home Video releases, and advertisements for Shonen Jump Magazine, the Naruto manga, and two other Shonen Jump manga titles.
It's disappointing, but not unexpected, that the special features on this set are virtually identical to the special features on the first three DVD box sets. I hope that on a future volume of the Naruto DVD box sets, that Viz Media will put more effort into the special features. However, if you're a Naruto fan that wants to collect all of the episodes on DVD, then the Naruto Uncut Box Set 4 would be a good addition to your DVD library.』
(for the kids) 『The series allows me time to sit with my kids and watch something together. not easy to do as they are getting into the teen years』

After barely making it out of the Forest of Death, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura proceed to the next stage of the Chunin Exam: a one-on-one sudden death elimination battle! Pitted against each other in individual combat, an assortment of young, bright-eyed ninja reveal their true colors and brandish their hidden powers! Can Naruto beat the odds and prove to his fellow shinobi that he's good enough to be a chunin?』
『The second season ofNarutocontinues as the next phase of the Chunin exams begins: individual combat among the surviving candidates. Kakashi-sensei seals the curse mark Orochimaru set on Sasuke's neck, but its effect on the talented young ninja remains uncertain. Naruto beats his opponent using decidedly unconventional means: only everyone's favorite knucklehead could turn an attack of flatulence into a jutsu. As the matches progress, the focus shifts from Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura to the secondary characters Hinata and Rock Lee. The offspring of a great ninja clan, Hinata seems too timid to live up to the family tradition of violence, but she fights valiantly against her cousin Neiji. Rock Lee has no talent for the magical jutsu the other students employ, so he's trained himself mercilessly in physical techniques. He's pitted against Gara, the icy trainee who fights with clouds of enchanted sand. Lee and Hinata overtax their resources but demonstrate true ninja spirit--and win the respect of Naruto and Sakura. The struggles of the secondary characters add some emotional depth to the inevitably repetitious fight scenes. The season ends on multiple cliffhangers, with Lee and Sasuke in the hospital and Naruto beginning a grueling training regimen with a new sensei to prepare for the final Chunin combat. I still play and I watch the diamond and pearl whenever it comes on. I missed the first few (5) seasons of pokemon on tv, so I started a collection of dvds(this being the first.) The episodes are great but the menu lacks special features and there is no japenese track. I always have to keep the remote in my hand because the theme song comes on twice an episode (and if I want to skip through the team rocket intro that appears in every episode.) The cases of the three dvds feel very flimsy and breakable. The outside cardboard is nice though and you dont get a dvd for its case so thats nothing to complain about. Seeing the episodes in order was great and if you're a fan of pokemon I suggest that you go to walmart, or any other store, and get these episodes today.』
(Pokemon Season 1 box set) 『Ahhh Pokemon...brings me back to the good old days of my youth. It was very nostalgic to watch Ash begin his adventure through the world of Pokemon. The only downside is that there are two more box sets that I need to get. This is a must for anyone who was or still is a fan of the classic Pokemon.』
(Awesome Original "Pokemon" DVD boxset!) 『I've been a diehard "Pokemon" fan ever since I was either six, seven, or eight years old and I love this DVD boxset! This boxset has the first half of season one of the original "Pokemon" classic, episodes 1 to 26. Here is the list of episodes from the back of each DVD in the boxset:
Disc One:
1. Pokemon- I Choose You! 2. Pokemon Emergency 3. Ash Catches a Pokemon 4. Challenge of the Samurai 5. Showdown in Pewter City 6. Clefairy and the Moon Stone 7. The Water Flowers of Cerulean City 8. The Path to the Pokemon League 9. The School of Hard Knocks
Disc Two:
10. Bulbasaur and the Hidden Village 11. Charmander-The Stray Pokemon 12. Here Comes the Squirtle Squad 13. Mystery at the Lighthouse 14. Electric Shock Showdown 15. Battle Aboard the St. Anne 16. Pokemon Shipwreck 17. Island of the Giant Pokemon 18. Tentacool&Tentacruel
Disc Three:
19. The Ghost of Maiden's Peak 20. Bye Bye Butterfree 21. Abra and the Psychic Showdown 22. The Tower of Terror 23. Haunter Versus Kadabra 24. Primeape Goes Bananas 25. Pokemon Scent-Sation! 26. Hypno's Naptime ( Also, after the last episode on each disc, there is the Pokerap special feature)
This is the first of three boxsets of the very first season of "Pokemon", which means that, in this season, there are only 150 Pokemon (with the exception of Mew, the 151st, legendary Pokemon, and a certain legendary bird Pokemon that's in the Gold and Silver games that makes a cameo appearance.), Ash, Misty, and Brock are introduced, as well as Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and the rest of the original Pokemon that were in the franchise, and Team Rocket (Jessie, James, and Meowth, along with their Pokemon, Ekans, Arbok, Koffing, Weezing, etc.), and many other characters as well. The places/environments in the first season of "Pokemon" are based on the first "Pokemon" games that were ever made, such as Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Yellow, which means that Ash, Misty, and Brock travel to Pewter City, Cerulean City, Vermillion City, and the rest, all the way to the Indigo League, and after that and after the rest of the first season boxsets, they travel to the Orange Islands, which is season two and is the next boxset after the last season one boxset. I love and own this boxset and I can't wait to get the other two boxsets sometime soon! The newest "Pokemon" series and newest "Pokemon" movie, "Pokemon DP Battle Dimension", "Pokemon Galactic Battles", and "Pokemon Movie 11: Giratina and the Sky Warrior" and the future 12th Pokemon movie, continue to amaze me, but they can't compare to the original "Pokemon" that I got hooked on and first grew up with! "Pokemon" and "Digimon" are both amazing anime cartoons that I grew up with! I will always love the original "Pokemon" show and I can't wait to get other "Pokemon" DVDs! (Finally, here's an interesting fact about "Pokemon": Satoshi Tajiri, the creator of "Pokemon", has been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, a mild form of autism.)』
(Well Put Together) 『This box set has episodes 1-26 of the very first season of Pokemom. To complete your collection of the entire first season, you will also need to buy volumes two (episodes 27-52) and three (episodes 53-79).』
(Brought back some good memories) 『I was happy to finally be able to see Pokemon again, and it had a lot of episodes on it, but I was disappointed that they didn't remaster them like they do with so many older videos and shows these days. Overall a very small disappointment compared to the enjoyment I got out of it.』 『Enjoy the Pokémon story from the beginning! Meet our hero, Ash, in his hometown of Pallet Town where boys and girls are encouraged to begin their Pokémon journeys! Join the Indigo League in this special box set of 26 episodes from Season 1 of Pokémon!』 『Pokémonscored an immediate hit when it debuted on American TV in 1995: Adapted from a Gameboy game created by Satoshi Sajiri, the diminutive "pocket monsters" spawned a multibillion dollar franchise on both sides of the Pacific. The initial mania died down after a few years, but the games and the animated series and features have remained popular. Although it's unabashedly product-based and overly cute at times,Pokémonremains an agreeable children's entertainment that stresses friendship, perseverance, and good sportsmanship. The first broadcast season introduces the main characters and follows them through first part of the game in its original Red and Blue versions. AspiringPokémontrainer Ash Ketchum must establish a bond with Pikachu, the ultra-cute, but initially recalcitrant "electric mouse." He leaves his home in Pallet Town and quickly befriends fellow-trainers Misty and Brock. As the trio wanders through forests and towns, Ash begins collectingPokémonand fighting other trainers. (The fights are very tame:Pokémonfaint when they're exhausted, but are never injured or killed.) The three friends also outwit inept comic villains of Team Rocket, Jesse, James, and Meowth. Ash gradually matures through his experiences: In episode 20, he learns self-sacrifice when he allows Butterfree, the firstPokémonhe caught and trained, to find a mate and depart for their nesting grounds. The original motto,Pokémon Getto Daze!(Let's GetPokémon!) became "Gotta Catch 'Em All!" and many fans are still trying to do just that, although the initial number of 151Pokémon, has more than tripled over the years. (Almost perfect) 『The only reason i did not give him a 5 was i had a hard time getting my merchandise on time but it was only 2 days late. Otherwise, and it was around the Thanksgiving holiday and i do realize that was out of his control. He was very good but there was a ripe in the bottom of the package also. Not sure if the post office did this or distribution. But all in all my son will be very happy christmas morning and that is all that i wanted in the first place.』
(The beginning of the final round/Naruto, Neji&Shikamaru) 『Uncut Volume 5's regular edition starts off mostly as a training arc, with everyone recovering or suffering from the effects of the preliminaries and some training for their next opponent. Much of this focuses on Naruto and a new very important character, Jiraiya. This perverted old man is actually a link to Naruto's past, and once convinced begins to train Naruto to control the Nine-Tail's chakra within him. There is some more character development, especially for the mysterious Gaara, who could definitely use it, and Neji.
The rest of the box set focuses on the final round matches between Naruto and Neji, and Temari and Shikamaru. One is a pound it out battle between opposing skill sets and ideals and one battle is chess match between two tactitians. Both of these serve to be quite entertaining, but through out the matches you still anxiously wait for the battle between Gaara and Sasuke. Which unfortunately, you'll have to wait until Volume 6 (Naruto Uncut Boxed Set, Volume 6) for.
This volume is the usual high quality release of the series, with a good amount of comedy, character development and action. It comes with the usual set of 3 discs and the storyboard booklet for a very nice price. I definitely recommend it.』
(still good) 『Love this show, my kid loves this show. It's nice to have a kid's show that has actual character development and thematic intent.』
(excellence continues) 『with Volume 5 of the popular anime series Naruto.
It includes 13 episodes mostly centering on Naruto and other students getting prepped for the finals of the Chunin Exam that they are fighting in. Rock Lee is in the hospital and struggling with not being able to compete in the tourney. Gaara is well...still a psychotic, mind warped loony that enjoys killing more now than ever. Naruto is well himself but he's trying to strength himself before his fight with the blockheaded and full of himself Neiji. Who believes that you can't change your own fate.
It ends with the upcoming match between Sasake (whom finally returns from training just in time to not be disqualified from his match) with Gaara. It will be an excellent setup and opener for Volume 6 that looks to continue to ramp up the action for our hereos and the people of the Hidden Leaf village as a major plot is about unfold right in their faces.

The arrival of Jiraiya, the lecherous arch-ninja known as The Sage of Toad-Mountain interrupts Naruto's intensive training regimen. Jiraiya wants to ogle the local girls, but Naruto wheedles and fusses until the Sage agrees to teach him the powerful jutsu used to summon a monster toad. His first efforts are unimpressive: All he can conjure is a tadpole. But Jiraiya's instruction enables Naruto to tap into the extraordinary spiritual power of the Nine-Tailed Fox Demon imprisoned within his body. Drawing on this energy, Naruto defeats Neiji, avenging his cruel treatment of the gentle Hinata. But more serious matters overshadow Naruto's match: Sasuke vanishes from the hospital and everyone fears Orochimaru may be involved. Or is Sasuke's disappearance linked to a plot by the leaders of the Sand and Wind Villages to break the peace treaty among ninja and destroy the Hidden Leaf Village? At the center of this intrigue is the highly anticipated face-off between Sasuke and Gaara, the murderous psychotic who fights with enchanted sand.
