Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Magnificent...) 『I'll admit, I don't usually watch anime...or write reviews for that matter, but I felt the need to tell the world just how great this anime was. I enjoyed it from beginning to end...and the music...amazing. Bought all four soundtracks. If you love hip hop, violence, and occasional sillyness...this is for you.』
(Definitely not what I ordered) 『It appears as though you'd receive a nice boxed set of this series, according to the picture. What I actually got was three DVDs in the same case, wrapped so tightly that I had to ruin the packaging to open it. And the DVDs themselves were crap! I was unable to watch in Japanese with subtitles because the audio track and the subtitles track were way out of sync, and the subtitles would freeze for long periods of time. Do not buy this product! It is not what's being advertised! Buy elsewhere!』
(don't buy yet) 『This is a great show, but if you are thinking about buying it now don't it is going to be released again sometime in 2009 by funimation, and i'm sure for less then what they are asking here. so save your money.』
(Funky, Sweet Samurai Animae) 『A pure animae joy. Hot martial arts, hip hop funkiness and an interesting trio made this series addictive. Excellent drawing and action kept the story engaging. Don't hesitate to watch.』
(An Interesting Twist Of A Hip-Hop Version Of The Samurai) 『I actually saw a few episodes from my friends collection and after seeing those decided I had to get this collection for myself. The three antagonist for the series is Fuu(A young lady whose searching for an elusive samurai she can only vaguely remember smelling like sunflowers), Jin(A seemingly rogue samurai ronin and while he keeps his emotions calm and his temperament even he seems to be hiding a dark past), and fianlly Mugen(A street punk who has a great appetite for fighting and destruction but also surprisingly his fighting skills are equal to Jin's). The series is a mix of mostly dramatic action episodes and a sprinkling of comedic ones as well. I've found the one I feel most humorous is when a United States ship docks at a village and the only way the people of the village can get rid of them is to win a game of Baseball. The action scenes are bloody and there are a few adult scenes as well though no outright nudity I do advise not letting young children watch this series. It was pretty hard for me to get this set and now Funimation has gotten the right to re-release Geneon dvds hopefully new fans will be able to get this set again. If it does take a while I have seen some movie stores still selling this set so the choice is up to you. The video is wide-screen and very clear and sharp so don't worry about any graininess or blurring. The English voice actors did a great job for their characters and of course the Japanese voice actors did incredible as well so no problems on that part either. So if you're looking for a nice unique samurai action anime this is a good choice for you....』 『Mugen's a completely wild, uncontrollable warrior - deadly with his blend of capoeira-style swordsmanship and short temper. Jin is the epitome of the stoic samurai, lightning-quick, cool and always in control. And Fuu? She's an adorable (and somewhat airheaded) girl who manages to rein these two in to help her search for a mysterious "samurai who smells of sunflowers." Hopefully, she can keep them from killing each other and stay out of trouble along the way...Now own the entire journey of Mugen, Jin and Fuu in one complete set!』 『Shinichiro Watanabe'sfilm noir-ish sci-fi adventureCowboy Bebopset a new standard for cool in anime in 1998, andSamurai Champloo, an edgy mix of Edo-era martial arts and hip-hop irreverence, is a worthy follow-up. A string of coincidences brings together three misfits in a two-bit tea house: Mugen, a rebellious vagabond; Jin, a taciturn ronin; and Fuu, a nutty waitress. The sardonic Mugen lacks the polish that distinguishes a classic martial artist--he uses break dance spins and flips against his foes. Jin moves with a polish that approaches iciness: When he unsheathes his sword, he becomes a lethal work of art in motion. Fuu forces Jin and Mugen to help her find a mysterious samurai "who smells of sun flowers." As the ill-assorted trio wanders towards Nagasaki, Watanabe treats the audiences to a string of outrageous, anachronistic adventures. In Episode 18, Mugen belatedly learns to read at a smackdown elementary school, while Jin tries to settle the rivalry between the heirs to the dojo of his former sensei. The seemingly unrelated storylines collide in a no-holds-barred graffiti contest featuringTokugawa rap lyrics, ink-brush tagging, Hiroshima homeboys, and a caricature of Andy Warhol. But Watanabe reveals the hidden significance of these nutty interludes when he brings his picaresque adventure-comedy to a close. LikeCowboy Bebop,Samurai Champlooleaves the viewer wanting more. A Review From An Avid Anime Watcher.) 『I watched over 100 series of anime so this is coming from someone that watches anime rather than TV because TV just sucks nowadays. Anyhow there's two seasons to this anime. I'm just gonna go straight to analyzing it. If you wanna know what the anime is about than check out the intro on Amazon or search it on google.
There are two seasons to this anime. Season 1 is orphen and season 2 is orphen revenge. Season 1 has 24 episodes and season 2 has 23.
The first season is actually significantly better and more humorous (better quality humor) than the second. It has a better storyline and was a bit more unique and a lot more interesting. The second season, however, starts off horribly and starts picking up a few episodes later. However, the second season never reaches the same quality as the first season hence me giving this a 3 star.
To the person that gave it a 1 star, this anime in no way deserves a one star. It was pretty good, the dub was nice to watch and the characters were very funny and decently built. I only agree with the second season that it did lack what was found in the first.
First season I would give about a 3.5-4 star and the second season I would give about a 2 because it had a lot of stuff missing. Did anyone notice that they also lowered the quality to the animation as well? Check out LUCKY, the wolfen. You'll notice it there the most.
Is this anime worth watching? Yeah! It was actually entertaining compare with other animes that I've watched. Here's a quick recommendation from me if you're interested in anime!
These are all unrelated animes since I don't really know many animes that are similar to orphen, at least not one that I can think of that's good at the moment, especially that feels like orphen.
EDIT I just thought up of an anime that is somewhat similar that many people should know and it's Full Metal Alchemist (subtitle version for best experience, but their dub version isn't too shabby). Read about it, it's not exactly sorcery imo but yeah.
Want anymore recommendations? Leave a comment and hopefully I'll see it and tell ya.

(Not what I expected) 『Orphen Season one was ok. While the animation lacked the story was alright which made it ok to watch. Orphen season two was absolutely terrible. No sort of plot was introduced until the very end of season two. Most of Orphen's Revenge was Orphen and his sidekick walking around and fighting random monsters. The animation and music for the entire series was poor and at times rather corney. I highly discourage this purchase. Orphen: Complete Collection』
(If You Like Anime With A Witty Wizard With An Attitude Here's A Great One For You) 『I had already gotten the second season of this entertaining anime and was finding it difficult to get the first season, and now I'm glad that ADV has finally released this series together for a very good price. Some fans have complained that the second season was to light and not as serious as the first and while that's a little true both seasons are still entertaining either way so you'll get enjoyment from both seasons. The first season deals with the main character Oprhen and his recent his agreement to have an apprentice by the name of Majic who's the innkeepers son, but he has his own hidden agenda as well for being in this village that no one knows about. AS he trains Majic in the ways of spells we later find out of his own estrangement from the wizard council also known as the Tower Of Fang which all powerful wizards belong to and which Orphen himself is especially known for because of his own great power, along the way he meets another would be student by the name of Cleao a young upper class women who saw Orphen during her travels while abroad and was instantly smitten with him. The second season is as many fans have said mostly light-hearted for half the season but it does become more dramatic during the other half and we will see recurring characters you may have seen from the first season most notably Dortin and Volkan the brothers who are basically the comedic duo for both the first and second season. You'll definitely like Orphen's somewhat laid back an smarmy attitude he gives out sometimes which he does to basically hide his own caring and kind heart that he allows only a select few to see, the Japanese voice cast were of course excellent and the English cast were just as good especially the voice of Orphen as the lines they give him for the dubbed make Orphen an even more endearing and smart mouth wizard character than they do with the subbed version. The video for the first season is decent but you will see some lines from time to time, but the second season video is more cleared up so all in all no complaints really on that part. The audio for both seasons is very good and the music soundtrack they have fit with the series greatly so if you're a fan of series like Scrapped Princess, Rune Soldier, or Full Metal Alchemist here's another great box set for your anime library.....』 『Studio: Adv Films Release Date: 08/18/2009 Run time: 1175 minutes』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (YuGiOh DVD first season) 『Bought this since I was a big fan of the TV show and liked the 1st (American) season. But honestly, I haven't actually watched any of the DVDs. I've seen the shows from the Saturday morning airings, so I know the story. Bought this more for a collector perspective, and maybe many years from now I'll re-watch the episodes, but most likely not. I'm not really much of a collector, so I'll probably end up selling this.』
(yugioh) 『Enjoyed finding out how it started and seeing each person develop their style of dueling.』
(OK SEASON) 『THE SEASON HAS ALOT OF EPISODES 49 TO BE EXACT. THE PICTURE WAS OK. SOME OF THE EPISODES WERE BORING. THE SEASON IS SEASON 1 OF THE SECOND YUGIOH SERIES. I LOVED EPISODE 1 THE MOST BECAUSE IT WAS INTRODUCING THE MAIN CHARACTERS.THE SEACOND REASON WAS THAT YUGI AND KIABA MEAT AND DEAULED EACH OTHER. THE GOOD THING WAS THAT YUGI WON.
PS. YOU SHOULD GET IT IF YOU WANT TO.』
(More Cons Than Pros, But SOME Pros.) 『Yu-gi-oh Season 1 is very good for a number of reasons, including shorter duels, many villains and a very odd antagonist.
Unfortunately, the season's duels include more cons, than pros. There is a long list of cheating in this season, including no tributes, no damage, playing against card effects and using card effects wrong. Some of these cheats are used in Battle City arc. and the Orichalcos arc., but season 1 includes the most, 'bending of rules'.
This season, however, has shorter duels than seasons 2-5 due to less side talking. This is a good thing, because you can see more plays, and a bad thing because the whole tournament is over in 36 episodes. The Battle City Tournament was on for 75 episodes (see my review for Yu-gi-oh Season 2).
So Season 1 has pros and cons, but it gets a three out of five because there are many things in this series that may anger some deep fans of Yu-gi-oh.』
(Excellent) 『I am very pleased with this product, providing this is my favorite Yugioh Arc, maintaining a lot of early passion and initial mystery in the storyline. Pegasus is a comical villan that is both witty and amusing, just as his story is romantically tragic. I thoroughly enjoy these episodes as well as highly recommend them to any Anime fan!』 『Yugi and his friends Joey Tristan and Tea can't get enough of Duel Monsters a new card game craze. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Transformers rock!) 『Bought this as a Christmas gift for my brother. We used to watch them all the time when we were kids, that's before the newer and nonsensical Asian versions that they have today. Maybe I'm getting old but they don't seem to make much sense anymore; not that talking robots from space made much sense in the first place.』

(Another great addition to the collection) 『Like I said for Season 1, I'll say for season 2 part 1, if want you want is to watch the cartoons, this DVD is for you. It has 5.1 audio, which is a plus.』
(A great start to season 2) 『The first part of this season starts of great and builds up quickly with a number of multi-episode stories. I had a great time watching these and they still capture kids attention 20+ years later.』
(Great for Fans) 『Season two is where the Transformes mania really started to take off, even spawning the theatrical movie of 1986. In some ways season two is great. We get a lot more episodes and more characterization for out beloved bots. I think my biggest complaint about the second season would have to be the "Transformer of the week" syndrome that plagued it. This was an unfortunate side effect of the show's popularity. Hasbro was looking to sell as many toys as possible so we had tons of new characters on both sides of the conflict popping up with no explanation. Here is where the pushing aside of fan favorites started. But this season also gave us four episodes focusing on fan favorites the Dinobots, even adding two more Dinos to the beloved team of Mayhem.
While there are some really bizarre episodes in this set like "Atlantis Arise" there are some real gems like "Microbots," "Changing Gears," and despite the silliness of the premise "A Decepticon Raider in King Aurthur's Court." While some of the jokes fall flat, many still make me laugh today. The dialog was written in the west and doesn't tend to suffer the cultural gap that later versions of TF written in the East seem to. Unfortunately animation errors abound and can be a bit jarring at times. It seems they did little to correct these with the release. I really enjoyed the episodes all in all and have a great time popping in a DVD and reminiscing about wishing I could meet Optimus Prime as a kid.

If you get Rahxephone Complete Collection I would tell you not to buy The Movie, The Movie is only made up of seans from the Searies Collection and nothing new.』
(Stand-alone review from someone who hasn't seen Evangelion) 『It sounds silly, but watched RahXephon as an "alternative" to EVA because I'm actually a little turned off by the constant Evangelion hype that I hear and read about. I read several reviews that described RahXephon as "Evangelion done right". I have no idea if it's true or not, but I decided to give this anime a look before Eva just to go against the flow.
This show is phenomenal, but it took me a while to come to this realization, mainly because the story is very intricate and requires a good deal of thought to comprehend. It is not a series that you can watch casually and enjoy. I had to re-watch the ending to try and piece things together. After I had time to digest it, I realized that I really liked it, and more than that, I was impressed by the sheer quality of this show, from production values to English voice work.
The first thing this series had going for me was the character designs and the animation quality. Both get very high marks. The characters are believably conceived and drawn and lends this series to an almost live action feel, for me anyway. Out of any anime I've watched, this one feels the most targeted to intelligent adult audiences and its real-world characters emphasized this fact. The music is also very unique and memorable and gives the show a similarly mature touch.
The plot line in this show is quite complex. It ranges from mystery to sci-fi to action to romance, and in my opinion does an excellent job at intertwining them all. It is not so much a "giant mecha" show as a show about the inherent worth of humanity. After I began to piece it together, I really, really enjoyed the irregular romantic story developed in RahXephon. It was very unique and enjoyable to watch develop. I also found the references to 2012 and Mayan culture particularly interesting, since there is a lot of hype about the year 2012 right now. The idea of re-tuning the world was intriguing to me and is actually a theme that I've heard before regarding the year 2012.
Like a number of other shows I've seen, it starts by focusing in on one character and then expands the story to take in a large number of side characters and eventually expands until it is literally cosmic in nature. And being cosmic in nature, RahXephon comments on humans place in the cosmos, and caps off great tragedy with great hope, which I really appreciated.
As far as an age rating is concerned, I'd rate this one as 18+. There's not too much objectionable here...there is a scene where Ayato is dreaming and the Haruka in his dream attempts to seduce him, as well as a few shots of Quon in her underwear and the classic beach bikini episode, but there was nothing that I was really offended by. The series does not make a point out of fanservice, but the female characters are well-proportioned and there are a couple of potentially awkward moments that pass quickly.
A highly recommended series that stands on its own as a great work.』
(A great thin-pak) 『First of all...7 discs in seven cases. Which is how all animes should be,thin paks with one dvd per case. This is a solid buy for about 50 bucks. Many people liken this to Evangelion except I thought this was far better than Evangelion. There are so many reviews of this I can tell you nothing new...my only gripe is that it is in Full Screen..I hate that. Why only three stars...well the anime is great, but not outstanding, and this is nothing original. Aliens...teenager is the only one capable of piloting mecha. Yet it is worth watching and there is some replay value to it as well.』
(A very interesting world for us to see...) 『This was yet another interesting Mecha Anime that I came across. I've noticed I tend to prefer the far more mechanical Mechs you see in things like Mechwarrior, but the Animes seem to favor a more organic or humanoid styled Mech. Maybe it's to make them seem like they're more than just a machine, which is the case in the instance of RahXephon. Despite the fact I'm not too big on the creature designs the stories are still very good and quite enjoyable! Don't get me wrong, the creatures are still drawn quite well and the rest of the art is very nice.
We are first brought into the world of Ayato Kamina. He seems kind of out of touch with reality, but in most Anime's like this the main character has a destiny to fulfill. Like other Anime's I've watched the characters are usually between the ages of fourteen and eighteen and in this case Ayato is seventeen. We see this used commonly in things like Serial Experiments Lain, Last Exile, Burst Angel, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. I guess that's the perfect age for things to get interesting. Also like many others I've seen so far start off with a seemingly normal world, lively and normal... except for our out of touch main character. However, there's a major twist because the world has pretty much been destroyed and the only city left is Tokyo. The world's population has been reduced to a mere twenty-three million! How could this happen? Apparently otherworldly beings called the Mu attacked Earth, but only Tokyo managed to survive. As in most other Anime's not everything is as it seems... an air of mystery comes about and something is amiss with the world. The synopsis would technically be much greater than that, but I don't want to give away the mystery or the awe of the world you get to enjoy through this Anime.
I suppose this Anime parallel's Neon Genesis Evangelion quite a bit, but with a major pro in my book. At the end of this series we get at least a decently logical conclusion! They don't go off into any overly philosophical episodes that may or may not have anything to do with the series. This story really does begin and end within the series and we really didn't quite get that in Neon Genesis Evangelion. Do I think that RahXephon is better? Actually... no. I think Neon Genesis Evangelion was a much more profound series, along with being much deeper and I liked the premise behind their Mechs a lot more as well. Despite all the borrowing and influence from various other Animes I think RahXephon managed to construct a decently original universe for us to enjoy and not feel like it's a blatant rip off of another series.
I really did enjoy the world they created for this Anime, but there are a few misgivings that I think really held it back from reaching its true potential. A major downside to this series is the huge cast. It feels like the normal twenty-six episode length is far too short to encompass all the kinds of character depth we need. At the end I was left with too many questions about Ayato's mother for example. She's a very mysterious character and they explain a lot, but I think there should've been a lot more for us to see. There are some expertly written twists and turns throughout the series, but the drama is really what drove my interest in this show. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the action sequences quite a bit, but like many of the Mecha shows I've seen thus far it seems like they force the action sequences in some episodes. As if they need to fit at least one action sequence into EVERY episode. There is plenty of drama and story to build on that they don't necessarily need this. In fact I wanted more of the dramatic elements and background story of some of the characters.
An interesting thing with this DVD set is that there are extras on every disc and these include various interviews with the creators and voice actors. In the end I enjoyed this series quite a bit. Not as profound as some other series I've seen, but it's quite good while it lasts. The last parts involving the God designer character are brilliant and that's the main part where you get a taste of some philosophical notions. If you enjoy a good Mecha with a complex story then I would recommend RahXephon. Just be forewarned that the cast is unnecessarily huge and you won't find out everything about every character. This is unfortunate, but I can't deny that the world and story are still good in the end.
3.5 out of 5.』
(Waste of time) 『Its not that the art is bad, or the action is dull, it's simply a matter of poor plot developement. There's no manga to go with it either, and that's already a sign pointing towards a chaotic plot line. It's almost like it was being written while still in production. It's also surprisingly emo and makes too many failing attempts at being philosophical n such (a common anime thing, but most at least have a foundation to which the idea is represented). So, this isn't an anime I'll watch again when I can just go see the very anime it copied off of, but is well worth the time and money, Evangelion.』 『The city of Tokyo has been overthrown, taken over by Invaders who have devastated the rest of the planet. For 15 years, the remnants of the human race have fought a losing battle against the Mu and their Dolem, knowing that the key to victory lies within the domed walls of Tokyo Jupiter, where time flows in a different path and none of the mind-wiped citizens even know that the city has been conquered. But no one has been able to get into Tokyo. Until now. That being said, I bought this for my son as a birthday present and consider myself lucky. This is not a show for little ones as there is plenty of violence and some low key sexual issues. I guess the best comment I can offer is that every time my son watches some of these I have to sit down and watch. They are riveting. Very sad that only 2 seasons were made.』
(A 100% success) 『Getbackers is a fun 26 episode romp centering around Ban Midou and Ginji Amano, the Getbackers; a recovery service with a 100% success rate. It's true, they're good at what they do, but when it comes to money... let's just say the first time we are introduced to them, they are sleeping in their car with a bar tab up the wazoo. The money gods do not smile on them often, and many of their jobs do not pay much at all.
Though the show has a feel of a "boss of the week" series, the show delves into the lives of the two recovery agents and those of their past and present. Ban Midou has a special ability called the Jagan or "evil eye" that gives an illusion to whoever looks him in the eye for one minute. Ginji Amano has the ability to generate electricty in his body. You will see this often. The other characters in the show have their share of abilites as well. Shido is a beastmaster and has the ability to communicate with animals. Kazuki Fuuchoin can manipulate koto (harp) strings as weapons or as spying threads. Then there is Akabane (Dr. Jackal) who stores deadly scapels in his body and has a special liking for Ginji, much to his dismay.
It's action packed, hilarious, and even a pinch of serious as the Limitless Fortress, the link to most of the characters' pasts, comes up repeatedly near the end of each season. It's a great series and not to be missed. Not for those who want something deep and meaningful, but if you want hilarity and a little bit of butt-kicking, this is the show for you.』
(This isn't like Yu Yu Hakusho) 『Ok I'm going to write an official review aside from the two that obviously did not go into detail about what the show is about. Getbackers is a humorous and yet very serious anime about two retrieval agents named Midou Ban and Amano Ginji (The Getbackers). The story starts out with a girl that loses a keepsake from her mother that has passed away. Incomes Midou and Genji....their job is simple, supply them with enough money and they will get back any item that is stolen (in fact they claim to have a 100% retrieval rate). They are never good with money as it seems they are always broke and rely Paul (he is the store owner in the series) to keep a tab for them so they can eat. It seems as if nothing ever comes easy for them after the 2nd episode of the series. The series is 49 episodes complete so I will not go into every detail of the series.
Now on to the 2 main characters of the show:
Midou Ban--Well let's just say that he loves his shades.....he has a special ability of the "Evil Eye" in which he induces a minute long dream/nightmare, but he can only use it 3x in one day or use it only once a singe person in a 24 hour period. He has another main attack in which he uses all the way through the series....it is called the "Snakebite". His grip in which he uses through the "Snakebite" has 200kg of pressure. All in all he extremely strong and his ability for strength is undeniably superior to anyone else's strength and abilities.
Amano Ginji--He is the Lightning Emperor of "Limitless Fortress" a.k.a "Infinite Castle" and leader of "The VOLTS". His special ability is to channel electricity through out his body. These abilities heighten and cause much more substancial damage if there is a major power source near by. The only person to have supposedly beat him is Midou Ban in the Limitless Fortress. Throught the series he is not who he used to be; in that when he left Limitless Fortress he was no longer the Lightning Emperor. He wanted to do good and help people rather than instill fear into them by being the Lightning Emperor. He has a very good heart and it shows throughout the series.
Ok enough about the characters....you will just have to watch the show to see all of them and what their specific jobs are in it. Now my first initial thought of the show was,"This is ok, but nothing jumps out about it"....the story will not immediately hook with the first couple of episodes considering it sets up the characters for it. Midou and Ginji's first dangerous assignment comes in the 3rd episode of the series and this is where the anime really starts to engross you into the series. From this point on in the series you will see two of the other six main characters of the series (Transporters)....Akabane (Dr. Jackal) the master of knives and Himiko (Lady Poison) who uses poison perfumes as her attacks. I would have to say that Akabane is, by far, the most intriguing person in the whole series. He is calm, cool, and full of himself. The more dangerous the job, the more he wants to do the job, and the more entertained he becomes. Eventhough, he is an evil person in the show he was my favorite person from the show. Himiko is Midou's former partner, and that story unfolds as the series progresses.
The series is all about how Limitless Fortress controls everything that goes on in life. Everybody that is from Limitless Fortress believes that they are just pawns to much higher being. "Brain Trust" is the main source for what happens there. There are virtual and actual humans that make up Limitless Fortress from Brain Trust. The whole premise of what transsends through the series is from a character called MakubeX. He learns the truth about how Brain Trust controls everything and plans to kill everything off with an atomic bomb, because of this horrible truth he knows. This is the part of the series that really gets you into the series. After that I just couldn't stop watching. I had to find out what was going to happen. There are a few more episodes that are fillers in between, but I would have to say that this was a really enjoyable anime that had really funny moments, but had some very deep story lines, also.
I highly recommend this great anime to anyone that is worried about what is out there. 5stars all the way. You will not be disappointed.

(Awesome Set) 『I happen to get this from a friend who probably got it from here. I found out about this anime a while back about 3 years ago and was curious about what this would be like. When i watched the first episode i was like this is it? Thats what this is about? I was like what is this. But i was still drawn to it to find out that it got much deeper. More into action. More humor. More Mystery. I fell in love with a new anime. This anime is amazing. I do agree with Lakota Girl . Its very good give it a try and yea its like yu yu hakusho. It is worth the money trust me...』
(One of my absolute favorites) 『I had heard a lot about this series and decided to give it a try by renting the first disc. I was immediately hooked. I love Yu Yu Hakusho for it's blend of action and humor and this series delivers on both counts as well.
The characters are diverse and interesting and the world they live in is much like Yu Yu Hakusho in that it is almost real and modern day, but not quite.
I'd recommend this series to any anime fan that enjoys good stories, a little mystery, fast paced action, and lots of humor.
』 『If it's lost, they'll get it back. Doesn't sound difficult, but when you throw in strange mutant powers and back it up with one of the top manga franchises in North America, it's easy to understand by GET BACKERS is such a fan-favorite anime series!』

You can find other reviews that will tell you all you could want to know about the story and content. So in summation it is A good anime. Get Madlax it was produced by the same animation studio. If you are going to own a girls with gun anime series Noir and Madlax are worth having. If you want more comic content get the Dirty Pair or Dirty Pair flash.』
(Noir) 『One of the best anime series I own. This series is worth every penny I spent.』
(Eh) 『Noir isn't great, nor is it really that bad. It's just: Eh. I've tried to get into it, but it's just not pulling me in. I've watched 2 of the 7 disks and I've come to the conclusion that there's a lot better anime out there that I should watch before finishing this series.
The story isn't very compelling. The art isn't that great. There's no amazing movement that makes up for the so-so art in many anime series. The music is pretty good, and it certainly makes up for some the poor animation during the action sequences.
My suggestion is to not watch this unless you've seen all of the good anime series and you're bored and now working through the the second tier series.』
(A cut above most!) 『The story centers around two main characters, a professional assassin and a young girl who has lost her memory. She also happens to be a professional assassin. The young girl has sought out Mariel with hopes that she wil help her recover her lost memory as she seems to be intricately tied to her by certain events. The story leading up to the truth is what is told over the course of the series and it is action packed and mysterious every step of the way. Not only are the story and action scenes throughout the series captive, the music is also very fitting from a few choir led scenes and the prevailing techno type dance music played throughout the series. This series is worth every penny and every second you will invest in it andif you are fan of anime you owe it to yoursel fto see it.』
(The Man Within the Man, The Sin Within the Sin...) 『The Good Things *Good action scenes. Every episode contains at least one good fight scene. *Excellent animation quality; motions are mostly fluid and artwork is splendid. Settings are very detailed and distinctive. *The story is continuously intruiging. It may not make sense at first, but once the mystery is unravelled, it's interesting. Repeated viewings reveal more details, too. *Aside from the main story arc, there are also a number of good stand-alone episodes with good stories. *Characters are very well-developed. They have a large number of subtleties, backgrounds, and issues that make them very memorable. *Great emotional impact (although this could also be seen as sappy). *Bloodless action and implied sexuality makes the show edgy without being too graphic (rated 15+). *Excellent music.
The Bad Things *Slow pacing may be too tedious for some people. *Flashbacks are repeated throughout, and can be seen as annoying.
The Questionable Things *Some parts are really silly when you think about it (like Chloe's fascination with a fork, or the fact that Kirika stands in the line of fire and never gets hit, or the part where she gets shot in the head and lives without a scratch...). *Strange ending (still don't know why Mirielle didn't shoot Altena, but it all worked out in the end anyway).
It's a slow, emotional, character-driven European drama, but still has a lot of slick action. Once I got into it, it was very immersive and fascinating, and has become one of my absolute favorite anime shows. Highly reccomended to anybody who has the patience.
DVDs have good video and audio quality, and contain a number of interviews. Episode 21 has a hilarious easter egg (push up, down, left, and right on the remote during the second eye-catch to see an 8-minute sock puppet video!).』 『The Female Is The Deadlier Of The Species… A cryptic message. A mysterious organization. A girl with a missing past. These are triggers that launch professional hit woman Mireille Bouquet into the ultimate odyssey of death and vengeance. Joining forces with Yuumura Kirika, a young girl with deadly skills and a forgotten identity, Mireille finds herself thrust into a secret world where the only law is kill or be killed, and where your closest friend could turn out to be your worst enemy. Two female assassins embark on a journey through the ultimate darkness, in the acclaimed animation masterpiece NOIR! Available now for the first time in this complete collectors edition!』 『In Paris, professional assassin Mireille Bouquet meets emotionally shattered Kirika Yumura: neither woman can remember her past, but they're both extremely good at killing people. (Kirika doesn't even look--she just points the gun and fires and her victim falls.) The two women form a partnership as "Noir," but after a couple of murders for hire, they realize someone is trying to killthem. The mysteriousSoldatsseem to be everywhere, so it's kill or be killed. The only recurring characters inNoirare amnesiacs, who are essentially blank slates and therefore not very interesting. Director Kouichi Mashimo may set new record for repeating footage in an animated series--some shots crop up three times in a single episode, including portentous images whose significance is more apparent than real. The result feels like a watered-down combination ofGunsmith CatsandSerial Experiments Lain. This set contains the complete six volume series. (Fanastic Vampire Anime) 『It's definitely not Vampire D or Trinity Blood but it's worth adding to your anime collection. I found this series to be quite entertaining and had me laughing a good deal of the time.
My only complaint about the series was that they never faced the head vampire (her father) and the last episode in my opinion was total crap ... I had to forced myself to watch it just because it was the last episode. Definitely not a good way to end a great anime series if you ask me (reminded me of the god awful ending to Neon Genesis Evangelion).
.... loved the cat ears and the ghetto cat costume for avoiding the sunlight ... good stuff.』
(neko mimi mode! moon moon moon phase!) 『How can you not love Moon Phase, it's funny, cute, endearing and has magic, romance, suspence, demons and vampires. The Manga has 13 volumes, I have the 1st 12 with 13 pre-ordered. I've seen all 6 of the DVD and had great fun watching them. I highly recommend Moon Phase, you too will become an addict!』
(Moonphase Box Set) 『I wasn't sure that I would like this series at first, but it's a really good fun series. There is lots to laugh at and keep you entertained. The only thing that I didn't like so much was that the last episode of the set made absolutely no sense! But it was still funny :)』
(Vampires, ghosts and cat ears.) 『Moon Phase is a vampire anime. Slightly light hearted, with some drama, romance, action and mystery. Not really scary nor is it thrilling. But still a solid good story with great, if sometimes even artistic, settings. What really got me, besides the plot that seems well thought out, was the amount of star power in the English cast. Luci Christian, Carrie Savage, and Caitlin Glass are in it. But the two major stars of the piece is Monica Rial, who plays the main female character, and Colleen Chinkenbeard, who not only was part of the voice cast, but also helped write some of the episodes, was one of the ADR directors, and the line producer. This really is a labor of love and should become a part of any anime library. There are some extras but the 26 episodes are the meat and potatoes of the set.』 『"The cutest bloodsucker you will ever see!" ---Anime Insider

So when he fails to capture a hauntingly beautiful young girl on camera, he knows there must be an explanation. Driven by curiosity, his spiritual insensitivity proves a curse indeed as the young photographer crosses barriers best left alone, stumbling into the armsof a haughty vampire and a world he cannot comprehend.
The young vampire Hazuki, having waited years for someone to finally set her free, proves unwilling to part with her unwitting hero and follows him home, promptly adopting his life as her own. And as the adolescent vampire wreaks her own flavor of havoc, mysterious forces conspire to reclaim what was lost. Some riddles are best left unsolved…』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Witch Hunter Robin is Excellent!) 『Witch hunter robin is a great series. It is very interesting, and has lots of action. It is a little slow to start on the main plot, and I wish they had explained more about it, but aside from that I think it was totally worth buying, and I have enjoyed watching it many times.』
(Slow at first but makes you want more) 『Witch Hunter Robin: Complete Collection
I have come to learn that most Anime series's start off with a simple story nothing real plot wise happening and then right around the 7 to 10th episode the whole thing changes. The whole plot changes, and your left wondering what is going to happen next. The graphics is good. I love the music, and am grateful that my oldest son introduced me to Anime and Manga. I wish and hope that our kids today will learn the lessons that are being taught in most Anime shows today. Good ones anyway. So kick back and watch a good show.』
(Anime Fanatic Review - Decently Made, But Very Dull) 『I usually give an anime about 5-10 episodes. This anime had some potential and I was hoping it would've lived up to it but unfortunately not.
The one major flaw that this anime has is that, well, it's just plain boring. It doesn't put you over the edge, it doesn't make you wonder much, and the fight scenes are just plain lacking and downright predictable. They just go in, do a little bit of fighting, but the bad guys just get caught many times in the most boring of methods...getting shot by their specialized which gun which acts just like a regular gun.
It is extremely dull and I'm on episode 10, I'm going to watch one more episode before I completely trash the series. Not worth it. Your typical anime themes and plots, but they really didn't try to go the extra mile to make it special. Sad.』
(Robin) 『This is a really interesting series with complicated characters. It pulls you in to the mysteries and keeps you until the end.』
(The Product you see is not what you get from Amazon.) 『The picture (of Witch Hunter Robin) you see above is not what you get. Mine was a hard shell with individual disc holders inside. Nothing else...so to start with I was disappointed. I have only seen the 1st two disc but thought I would put up something to let people know about the mis-representation. The 1st disc starts out well enough and the anime is solid but it did not take long figure out that there is no underlying plot. Unless things change in the discs to come then each 20 minute episode is a story to itself. No working up to the Boss...nothing leads into the next story for the most part. For instance...50 evil little dolls... they only find 49..but the next episode has nothing to do with the missing doll. One bad guy gets away...but he is not in the next episode. I hope things get better the more I watch. At this point it is not very good. I will finish this when I finish the series. In discs 3-4-5-6 the story line is connected and progresses well and plays like one long story. That was a major plus compared to discs 1&2 yet because the first two discs are mostly a waste of time I could only give it 3 stars. While I did like it...it is hard to recommend due to the lack of action in most of it.』 『Studio: Infinity Resources Inc Release Date: 10/24/2006』 『Raised in an Italian convent, 16-year-old Robin Sana returns to her native Japan to join the STNJ, a secret organization that captures, rather than kills, witches of both sexes. As a "craft user," Robin can conjure fire as a weapon, but has some trouble with her aim.Witch Huntercombines the subdued palette ofBlood: The Last Vampirewith the alienated tone of theVampire Princess MiyuOVAs. The elegantly designed settings and skillful use of color are more interesting than the flat stories about pursuing the supernatural murderers.
