(Girl romance in the name of Maria) 『While people have no doubt seen the whole "girls in love triangles" plot before (maybe not with girls), this anime brings so much excellent romantic drama.
So far, "Maria Watches Over Us" is a winner for yuri fans, with gentle romance stories involving Catholic girls in high school.
Catholic girls in America would probably not consider lesbian romance as acceptable, but "Maria Watches Over Us" manages to squeeze in emotional romance without any dispositions at all.
Yumi Fukuzawa is a shy first-year student at the Lilian Girl's Academy. After praying at the statue of the virgin Mary, a third-year student named Sachiko Ogasawara ties Yumi's neckerchief. However, a photographer named Tsutako took a picture of Yumi and Sachiko together. She will only give the picture back to Yumi if Tsutako gets permission from the Sachiko to display the photo at the school's upcoming festival.
Of course, Yumi has no idea that Sachiko is a member of the Yamayuri council, the student council of Lilian Girl's Academy. Sachiko also proposes to give a rosary to Yumi, so that she can be Sachiko's petite soeur, or little sister. Yumi is too shy to accept at first, but as she bonds with her friends in the Yamayuri council, she can't help but love her new family of big sisters in the Yamayuri.
This is a wonderful series with a surprising amount of drama and emotional romance. One would never think that the Yamayuri council would feature so many thoughtful stories of romance. Sachiko's conflict with her family forces her to find a new relationship with Yumi. Yoshino Shimazu wants to get a heart transplant, but worries about her grande soeur (older sister), Rei Hasukura. And Sei Sato has a dark past, a young, forbidden romance.
This box covers episodes 1-13. This series also features an awesome special feature named "Don't Tell Maria," which includes hilarious bloopers of each of the episodes. Although the series is a little pricey at $45, it's still one heck of a bargain, considering that anime fans receive this excellent anime with great special feature for almost every episode.』
(A truly beautiful anime) 『I was unsure of what to expect from this anime. It was mostly a whim purchase based on a desire for some good, character-driven storylines. I couldn't be more pleased.
The story takes place at Lillian Girls' Academy, a realm where decorum and grace are stressed, and the rules are relaxed somewhat in favour of a mentoring (senpai/kouhai) system. In this system, an older student chooses a girl to become her petite soeur, or little sister. The bond between sisters is meant to be strong, as the younger learns from the older and the older nurtures the younger.
The story is mostly told from the perspective of Fukuzawa Yumi, a young first-year student who's thrust headfirst into the emotional politics of the soeur system from almost the moment she arrives at the school.
The storyline is beautiful and romantic, and the characters are given a depth of feeling that's typical of good shoujo anime. Those looking for yuri will be disappointed. This is not an erotic tale of the secret love of women at an all-girls' school. This is simply pure romance.
And best of all, there's not a ninja, gun, robot, sword, spaceship, or monster in sight.』
(Great Title) 『I loved this season of Maria Watches Over Us. It was excellent the characters are deep and you begin to really care for them after just a few episodes. I will definitely buy the next season when it comes out.
Alright now that I got out the initial part, I wanted to say that this is NOT a yuri anime in anyway and if that is what you are looking for you came to the wrong place. This is a very sweet story about Yumi and her Onee-sama (Sachiko). Although this can be defined as such an anime because of the lack of men accept in certain episodes.
When watching this you start to make a connection to Yumi in the fact that she is basically a regular person that had something unique happen to her basically by coincidence. After which she rejects it at first, but after sometime she begins to accept it and live life with this unique circumstance. Anyway, I would recommend this series to anyone that wants to see a good drama, and/or romance.』
(Many Delightful Hours Spent) 『Based on a series of light novels by Konno Oyuki, "Maria-sama ga Miteru" is the story of an average girl, Fukuzawa Yumi, who is drawn into the rarified world of her school's Student Council. Led by the elegant and refined three Rosas, the Council seems to live in a world of its own that most students can never touch.
Until one morning, one of the most unapproachable of the Council members, Ogasawara Sachiko, unexpectedly fixes Yumi's uniform tie, plunging Yumi into a complex test of her affections and allegiance.
The season box set has two subtitle tracks - one with Japanese style honorifics, and one without. It comes with video extras - shorts that spoof the "making of" the series, and a cel phone charm as a physical extra. The translation is very decent, and the menu is very simple and straightforward. It's an excellent bargain at the price, as well.
With a romantic setting, a little Yuri flavoring, a lot of humor and a dose of pure shoujo fantasy, Maria Watches Over Us is one of the best series to ever be adapted into an anime.
』 『When Yumi Fukuzawa entered the Lillian Girls Academy, a prestigious all-girls Catholic school in Tokyo, she never imagined she would catch the eye of beautiful and demure Sachiko Ogasawara, one of the school's most popular students. Now Sachiko has offered to be Yumi's, her sister and guide for all her years at the academy. The whole idea has Yumi completely flustered: After all, they hardly know each other! The entire campus is abuzz with rumors about the two of them, but Yumi is conflicted over accepting Sachiko s offer. While she admires Sachiko, being her s ur would also mean constantly being at the center of the entire school s attention! Contains the complete 13-episode first season, plus the Season 1 specials. DVD Features: Scene access, Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio for Japanese dialogue, English subtitles and English on-screen translations. PLUS: Extras to be announced.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Pretty awesome!) 『Alot of people don't like the gt series i think its actually good just because akira toriyama didn't work on this one its still his work!!』
(Goku rocks!) 『This is one of the best animes that I have ever seen. If you really like anime then you should really check this series out along with the Dragonball Z series. There's tons of action and great storylines in this. Although Dragonball GT didn't quite hold the epic value that the Dragonball Z series had, it's still a really great series. Dragonball GT is the culmination of the entire Dragonball saga.』
(GT is good) 『The shadow dragons have been born 17 episodes 5 discs the complete shadow dragon saga』
(A good ending to a great series) 『This is easily the best saga in the Dragonball GT series. It had more action than any of the other sagas. This dvd set has 17 episodes which includes the whole shadow dragon saga. It had a lot action and it all wrapped up into a ending that was that great and unexpected. This dvd set has everything a Dragonball fan could want. It has great moments such as Vegeta finally becoming a super saiyan 4 and has the strongest villan ever in the Dragonball series. I recommend this set first before you get anything else. The other three sagas are good but not as good as this one.』
(Overall Review) 『The last saga of the Dragonball GT series seems to be more thought out than the rest of the anime. Out of Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT, DBZ was my favorite out of all of them. Dragonball Z is a power trip, but more thought out. Dragonball GT seemed rushed and not as good of a storyline. The ending of the Dragonball GT series has an ok ending. I can not say it had a good ending, because through my eyes, it seemed a little bit easy to beat the ultimate Omega Shenron.』 『The third GT installment unloads an arsenal of action with Evolution, Revolutin, Realization, Conversion and Generations. Every bone-crushing moment is uncut and unleashed for collectors to feel the experience like never before! Over 300 minutes of non-stop action!』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Best Collection from FMA) 『I believe that the last few disks in this series are the most interesting and exciting episodes of the series. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the series as a whole, but if you can only afford one box set - then this is the one you want. The tin is colorful and durable; the dvd is the top quality that you would expect from FMA, and the soundtrack that is also included has some of my most favorite songs from the series on it. Absolute must-have for true fans of FMA.』
(Good to get) 『Yo I have the FMA Movie Boxset! It is definitely a HUGE HIT!! This movie goes into a lot of historical detail... and even mentions famous characters Like acclaimed director Fritz Lang - (Metropolis and others) this movie takes place right around the end of WWI, and mentions the putsch, treaty of versailles, ETC. I took ap US history, so that is what made this movie all the more enjoyable.... (although i did not like the course as much, bc memorizing all the stuff was hard) any way sorry amazon, but i need to inform the general public about this wonderful movie, good luck to all of you who are trying to obtain a copy of it)
Now for this Dvd, i am not so sure what happens, so i cannot review for it that is all.... I do hope that I convinced everybody here to pursue the movie though........ 』

(Great anime....slooooooow release) 『You know, the TV series on Cartoon Network must be near the end of the series by now, and the DVD release pattern only takes us so far, getting 4 episodes every 3 months.
At this rate, I hope they release the series on DVD before they release the movie, since I don't have cable.』 『Al prompts a heated brawl with Ed by questioning him about the direction of their mission for the first time. The half-snake, half-woman Marta then leads the two brothers to the ruins of Ishbal and reveals the devastating cause of the Ishbalan war. The Limited Edition Series Tin conains v.10 Journey to Ishbal and the Fullmetal Alchemist Original Soundtrack 3. Box will hold episodes 10-13.』 『As the popular fantasy adventureFullmetal Alchemistcontinues, the filmmakers give the audience a respite from the intense action with a silly episode about Lt. Havoc's blind date with Major Armstrong's sister. (Fortunately for both them, she looks nothing like the burly Major.) As the story begins to build to its climax, the significance of seemingly unrelated events becomes clearer. Sheska the librarian shares her research into the death of Gen. Hughes with Winry, and the evidence suggests a link to the Ishbalan war and the mysterious Col. Juliet Douglas who may have inadvertently triggered it. Ed and Al reach the ruins of Ishbal and learn the real story of its destruction from the chimera Meta--before Cols. Mustang and Kimbley arrive with a small army. Even the city of Liore, where Ed exposed a false prophet at the beginning of the series, is linked to Ishbal and the quest for the Philosopher's Stone. Viewers also discover the origins of the Homunculus Lust, and her links to the Elrics' enemy, Scar. The deluxe edition comes with a tin box bearing the Ouroubouros symbol of the Homunculi and a third soundtrack CD. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A Great Sci-Fi Anime Series To Own, Doesn't Matter If You've Played The Game Or Not) 『I found this series set on a whim and for the price thought why not give it a try, and I'm amazed at how good the series truly turned out to be. Many reviewers have compared this with the game, an while I myself have never played the game the anime series stands well on its own. The characters are very likable from James Links( A former Earth military officer who after hearing of his wife's apparent death in a Mars space station test and Earth's reluctance to get involved leaves the military and becomes a space trucker to try and learn for himself the real reason of his wife's death which he feels was a cover up), Jame's daughter Noel and son Leon whom he's estranged from and who he later brings with him on his quest also wish to know the reason of their mothers death as well, and than we have Dolores the independent A.I space mecha that was delivered mysteriously to Jame's ship the ENDER so it wouldn't fall into the wrong hands. The series is a nice mix of action, comedy, and drama done well so that it makes it very entertaining to watch the episodes to the finale and not be bored or disappointed with the series. The Japanese cast were great for their roles and while there where a few of the English cast that were sub par the rest were reasonably good for their voice cast roles. So hopefully ADV film will re-release this series which they probably will considering how they're re-releasing other previous titles from before...』
(Awesome Series) 『Zone of the Enders: Idolo is a great anime. Truly a great prequel of the first Zone of the Enders Game for the PS2. Only problems with the anime was that the english translation was different than what was on the game or in the Japanese version but it still did not change the way I felt about the anime. Dolores, i was also great. I thought it was a great sequel to Idolo although it was a little "kiddy" at times, like, the Orbital Frame was completely A.I. controlled and she acted like a child at times but I thought that was pretty cute. All in all, a great anime series. Recommended for those that love the game and for those that haven't given Z.O.E a thought.』
(An excellent anime.) 『One of the best anime series I have ever seen. The story is phenomenal. It makes you think. Its not just battles and pointless killing. Its a great plot line about family, freedom, and struggling to make it in a cruel world; or worlds in this case. If you like a good story and appreciate these qualities in an anime, then I highly recommend you check this one out.』
(I expected more...) 『I was really hoping it would play along with the stories in the first and 2nd zone of enders games but it goes into a barely related plot. There are traces of relations to the game but not enough; for example, Viola is in the movie but barely gives any info about her and at the end of the movie it shows her going to earth and that's it! Another example is Anubis with the pilot Noman from the first and second games shows up briefly and mentions the failed attempt of the recovery of jehty and the death of Viola(the first game) along with saying he's involved in the Auman project(the second game). So the story for the series is pretty lame and there's barely any big battles. All it is is a family trying to get back together. If you're looking for the anime form the games this isn't it. If only they did make such an anime, it would be flipping fantasically awsome!』
(A Game it's Not, An Anime it Is) 『I have to be honest, I have yet to see the game. However, after reading the synopsis of the show, I decided I had to check it out. The intrigue and enjoyment of the show is the ideas behind adding a human factor to the characters. A washed out father, kids who try to avoid him, a wife that left them all, and the appearance of a orbital frame with an A.I. that's only begun to learn. All come together through the typical dysfunctional values of family and charge head first into what ever presents itself. In all, I loved it! The sound is good on the 5:1. The graphics are standard. The concept is fantastic! And, it's all pulled together in a great little package of a plot that hits on the surface of family and duty. You'll laugh and be thoroughly entertained. I definately recommend this one.』 『Based on a hit video game. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (The last box for the Macross portion of Robotech) 『Robotech: The Macross Saga - Legacy Collection 3 is a three-disc DVD box set that was released in 2001 by ADV Films. The first disc in the set contains the following episodes: "Wedding Bells," "The Messenger," "Force of Arms," "Reconstruction Blues," "Robotech Masters," and "Viva Miriya." The second disc in the set contains the final six episodes of the Macross portion of Robotech: "Khyron's Revenge," "Broken Heart," "A Rainy Night," "Private Time," "Season's Greetings," and "To the Stars."
The third DVD in the set is labeled as "Robotech The Sentinels - Elements of Robotechnology III." This DVD contains all of the special features included in this box set. The first extra is Robotech II: The Sentinels, which is a feature-length film that was created from animation produced for the aborted sixty-five episode Sentinels series. There is also a version of this feature that includes audio commentary provided by Carl Macek. This feature also has a "hidden Easter egg"; there is an unlisted audio track, which is just music and sound effects only for Robotech II: The Sentinels.
There are also animation model sheets included. There are two galleries of model sheets (one is for characters, the other is for mecha). There are thirty-five pages of character model sheets. It's interesting to note that some of the characters that appear did not appear in the feature included on the DVD, but would have appeared later in the Sentinels television series. The mecha model sheets include forty-six pages of mecha that was in the feature, or would have appeared later in the series. There was also a page that was a "ship size relation chart."
The next feature is labeled as "International Clips." The first clip presented is when Rick tells Minmei in the SDF-1's conference room that he loves her. The second clip is when Rick is telling Minmei goodbye before heading out to the final battle with the Zentraedi fleet, and he tells Minmei that it wouldn't have worked out between them, and how it's funny how much time they wasted. Both of these clips are available in English, French, Spanish, Portugese, and Italian. It's disappointing that the footage from the original Japanese series wasn't included in this feature.
Next is a series sales reel for the Sentinels series. It runs for about ten minutes, and it is a promotional film put together by Harmony Gold to be viewed by broadcast programming executives. It combines footage from Robotech with newly produced footage for the Sentinels series. The first scene in the promotional film had to be taken from a work print, because the original master was lost. Also, it should be noted that the dialogue in the Sentinels footage is different from what actually appears in the feature, and even some of the dialogue in the Robotech footage was changed.
The final extra is character bios for the characters in the Sentinels feature. There are biographies for Johnathan Wolfe, Exedore, Lynn Minmei, Janice, Lisa Hayes, Rick Hunter, Jack Baker, Breetai, Karen Penn, Cabell, Rem, Miriya Sterling, and Max Sterling.
Overall, this is a decent DVD set. Even though I wish ADV Films had gone to more effort to remaster the video for this release, I would still recommend this box set. However, it is now out of print. Even though ADV Films has released other Robotech box sets, I prefer this original set. If you are a fan of Robotech and happen to stumble upon a used copy of this DVD set, I would recommend picking it up.』
(Robotechie I Am!) 『Ever since I was a pre-teen I've been in love with Robotech. I watched them and used my VHS tapes until they died. Now with the DVD's you can have all the great episodes even if you have to buy all the sets...it is worth it. Some of the best anime. Well, for me it's THE best anime. Will always have the place of honor in my heart. Even if you are not familar with Robotech, it's worth getting into as it's really unique.』
(Remastered DVDs Coming Soon. Do Not Buy this Set!) 『Robotech is the classic English translation of three Japanese cartoon series Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada. To say that the Robotech Saga was great does it no justice. Robotech is extraordinary. One of the first animes to make the jump from Japan to the US, Robotech brought animation to a whole new level in the US.
This isn't a cartoon with 30-minute essentially non-related episodes. The Robotech Saga melds 3 different Japanese cartoons into one storyline. Although I am not the biggest fan of Southern Cross or the 3rd Generation, the First generation, which encompasses the first 36 Episodes of Robotech is simply stellar. The storyline is robust, characters are amazingly developed, and the action is amazing. The animation may be a bit plain, but considering that Macross was first drawn 20 years ago, I would argue that it has withstood time quite well.
Although Robotech is a must-own for any fan of anime, DO NOT BUY THIS SET!!! ADV is coming out with a remastered version of Robotech on DVD which will include digitally remastered video, sound, and additional footage never before aired in the US. I unfortunately bought this set well before the announcement of the new set and was somewhat disappointed with the video and sound quality of these DVDs. In addition, most of the Bonus DVDs in these sets contain useless items, except for E3, which contains the Sentinels episodes. My recommendation would be to buy the E3 bonus disc separately and wait for the Remastered version to be released.』
(A nice trip down memory lane) 『I just got Robotech legacy #3 and it's everything I expected and more. Makes me wish I was 16 again. In this age of Cartoon Network and MTV, "anything goes" but it's dissapointing how now more than ever, animation producers and writers are sticking to formula. Either that or they're jumping on "imitating the lastest hot anime" bandwagon. Call Carl Macek a butcher if you want but he had a good idea during a time when experimentation was actually encouraged. And it was an experiment that worked The only thing I really am dissapointed about is some of the extras on the Sentinels tapes. The character bios, for example should have had extra screens. They covered Rick, Lisa and all the old carryover characters from Macross saga as expected as well as some of the new ones like Cabell and Rem, but they left out a lot of the new characters. Most notable are missing bios for important characters such as Dr. Lang, T.R. Edwards, Vince and Jean Grant, the Regent and Regiss, Tesla, and the Sentinels themselves. The Sentinels audio commentary by Carl Macek was really nothing more than his "dry" reading of his Robotech Art 3 book. The first 4 chapters anyway. Mostly verbatim. Interesting but I thought a traditional running commentary on the video itself would have been more interesting as there was a plenthora of interesting stuff to analyze and discuss. The book material could have been an additional documentary style extra in and of itself. Better yet, why not just reprint the book for those who didn't get to buy it. There's probably money in it. The oldest part of my almost 20 year old video collection is the Robotech episodes that I taped off TV back in 85-86. Unfortunately, on today's VCRs and TVs, they look really crappy. And I'm glad I've got Robotech Legacy's DVDs so I can retire those tapes (20 year old videotapes will die an ignoble death in 2003 VCRs after too long, so if you taped these shows off TV, get Robotech Legacy and let your old VHS tapes rest in peace.』
(Classic TV Series) 『Robotech has always been in my life. I don't remember ever watching Bert and Ernie or Mr. Rogers or anything like that as a child--I would just vaguely remember Lynn Minmei in her red Chinese dress. As a middle schooler, I thought I would grow up to be like Miriya and become an ace fighter pilot (Ha!). It's funny how things change, but now, as a college student, I appreciate not only the whole story but the love triangle in the story--especially Minmei, who always came across as an annoying little... But having experienced a love triangle of my own, I have come to sympathize (sp?) with her. Anyway, the Robotech series is a classic that everyone should experience watching (even if you're like me and don't like Japanimation--Robotech is different!). These particular DVD's sadly bring the conclusion of one of the greatest stories of all time. Why is the story so great? Well, there's action, drama, comedy, romance, etc. There is also a great number of characters that the viewers come to care about, and each of them, with their own uniqueness, contribute to the greatness of the Macross story. The main character is Rick Hunter, who follows the footsteps of his best friend Roy Fokker and joins the Robotech forces against the 40 feet tall alien Zentradai that have come for the SDF-1 (a huge alien ship that the humans have transformed for their own protection). Rick Hunter falls in love with Lynn Minmei, who later becomes a famous entertainer, and forms a strong relationship with his commanding officer Lisa Hayes throughout the series. And then there is Max Sterling, the modest ace pilot of the SDF-1, who constantly out-manuevers Miriya, the Zentradai ace pilot of the elite Quadrono Squadron. (My favorite episode is "Farewell Big Brother" when they first combat each other). I also commend the writers of Robotech for having such strong female characters, like Claudia, who is a solid rock to all around her. Although the Sentinels return to some of the old Macross characters with new and interesting ones, I don't think it's as good as Macross. So it makes me sad everytime I watch the very last scene of Macross and hear Minmei's song bringing it all to a close... "...a world of things we've never seen before where silver suns have golden moons each year has thirteen Junes that's what must be for me to be in love..."』 『A special 3-disc collector's edition which includesWar and Peace, The Final Conflictand the third installment in theElements of Robotechnologyextras series available only in this collection. In the final episodes of theMacrosssegment, the Lisa-Rick-Minmei romantic triangle plays out against the ongoing Earth-Zentraedi conflict and the machinations of rebel Zentraedi captain Khyron, which devastate much of the planet.
Intimations of a new threat posed by the distant Robotech Masters serve as a lead-in to the second part of the epic. A planned 65-episode fourth installment in the saga was never completed, but the first four episodes and some additional footage were combined into the featureRobotech II: The Sentinels, the final installment in theRobotechcontinuity. The supplemental "Elements of Robotechnology III" disc includesThe Sentinels, a trailer for it prepared for the 1987 Toy Fair, and a rather self-serving commentary by writer-director Carl Macek. Members of Gen-X who grew up onRobotechwill delight in retracing these romances and battles; it's a classic, of sorts. Viewers accustomed to the more rapid pacing, dynamic action, and sophisticated direction of recent anime will tire of the endless shilly-shallying. Very R rated, so no kids. I'm not gonna repeat the other reviews so... However, I do recommend this one just for it music.』
(Actually a great anime..really) 『When i watched the first episode online i thought "ugh another sport anime", but after some time I saw a bit of style in it. It's very comical, and call out on the anime special effects where people get noodle arms and such. This is definitely a guy anime, not just because of the nudity but because the humor hits home. This anime has a techno type style to it. The soundtrack also helps this style with some actually good beats that fit the situation and rarely repeat the same crap again and again. Lots of fan service, some good hard headed antics, and hilarious moments make this a great anime.』
(Juvenile and Entirely Formulaic) 『The reviews so far on here are misleading. This series is entirely formulaic and hardly deserving of 4 or 5 stars. At absolute best it's only a 3 star series.
It's basically extreme sports, loosely based off of rollerblading and skate-boarding, with some magic thrown in. The main character is a bit of a loser, gross at times, and almost always juvenile. As others have mentioned, it's not for kids as there are adult themes and nudity (which also usually comes across as juvenile). There's the usual "protagonist taps into his hidden energy to pull something amazing off" stuff, but it's just hard to take the protagonist seriously since he is so juvenile and portrayed as a loser more often than someone you would actually want to follow or could respect.
The series reminded me the most of Get Backers (out of the fight anime I have watched). Except Get Backers had interesting protagonists, interesting villains (e.g. Dr. Jackal) and broke out of the Fight Anime mold with episodes like recovering the Stradivarius, the one about famous artists, the really hilarious episode with Ginji in the hospital, etc. They also actually go the Limitless Fortress in both seasons.
AirGear is Get Backers without the interesting parts, without the interesting characters, and literally without any resolution -- the whole 8 kings story arc was clearly meant for season two, which never happened. So on top of all of the formulaic action, contrived plots, 1 dimensional characters, etc. you also don't even get a decent ending.
My advice: pick up Get Backers instead.』

After barely making it out of the Forest of Death, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura proceed to the next stage of the Chunin Exam: a one-on-one sudden death elimination battle! Pitted against each other in individual combat, an assortment of young, bright-eyed ninja reveal their true colors and brandish their hidden powers! Can Naruto beat the odds and prove to his fellow shinobi that he's good enough to be a chunin?』
『The second season ofNarutocontinues as the next phase of the Chunin exams begins: individual combat among the surviving candidates. Kakashi-sensei seals the curse mark Orochimaru set on Sasuke's neck, but its effect on the talented young ninja remains uncertain. Naruto beats his opponent using decidedly unconventional means: only everyone's favorite knucklehead could turn an attack of flatulence into a jutsu. As the matches progress, the focus shifts from Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura to the secondary characters Hinata and Rock Lee. The offspring of a great ninja clan, Hinata seems too timid to live up to the family tradition of violence, but she fights valiantly against her cousin Neiji. Rock Lee has no talent for the magical jutsu the other students employ, so he's trained himself mercilessly in physical techniques. He's pitted against Gara, the icy trainee who fights with clouds of enchanted sand. Lee and Hinata overtax their resources but demonstrate true ninja spirit--and win the respect of Naruto and Sakura. The struggles of the secondary characters add some emotional depth to the inevitably repetitious fight scenes. The season ends on multiple cliffhangers, with Lee and Sasuke in the hospital and Naruto beginning a grueling training regimen with a new sensei to prepare for the final Chunin combat. The Special Limited Edition comes with a Mist Village headband and wrist sweatband, plus a Mist Village bag to carry them in.
