(Ripped box) 『I received the product in a timely manner. The box with illustrations holding the DVD had a rip about a half-inch wide. As I collect these for the nice box with the art work I was a bit unhappy with its condition. Although, Im not sure if I can blame amazon for that.』
(Same old extras?? And ends at 50... Mada mada dane...) 『The review for The Prince of Tennis Vol. 4 is pretty much the same as Vol. 3...the second season Japanese open/end are still missing and replaced with first season's. Ironically, intrumental U.S. opening was adapted to include episode scenes in episode 48, just like the Japanese...would have been nice to be able to see it with the original "Driving Myself" when watching the Japanese version on the DVD though. Same trailers since Vol. 2 also. And the DVD ends with episode 50, which just so happens to be the last episode shown on Toonami Jetstream before it was yanked off this week (1/14/07 exactly, the day before the DVD release)...which makes one wonder if the show is still being dubbed, or if not, will The Prince of Tennis continue to be released on DVD in only Japanese (which would be great if they just picked up where they left off), but I would hate to have to buy the first 50 episode over again to get the rest... 』 『A 3-disc set with 13 episodes of your favorite sports anime! The second half of the Metropolitan Matches begins! Kikumaru and Oishi start their doubles match against Yamabuki Junior High's Higashikata and Minami. Oishi confronts the same pair that he was unable to beat in last year's match. Sengoku counters Momoshiro's signature dunk smash and the match slowly shifts in his favor. Finally Ryoma's match with Akutsu from Yamabuki Junior High begins. With all the trouble Ryoma encountered with Akutsu a few days ago, everyone is worried for his safety!』 『As the second season of theshonen(boys') sports seriesPrince of Tenniscontinues, the team from Seigaku Middle School competes in the Metropolitan Tournament, an major step toward their ultimate goal, the Nationals. The training is grueling, and anyone who slacks off has to drink Inui's vile "penal-tea" health potion. Ginka Junior High, coached by the wily Banji, ranks as their most serious foe. Seigaku's "Golden Pair" defeats Ginka's "Plain and Simple" duo in doubles, and upbeat Takeshi "Momo" Momoshiro overcomes muscle tremors to beat "Lucky" Sengoku. Not surprisingly, the outcome of the tournament hinges on the final match between seventh grade star Ryoma Echizen and Ginka's older, bigger bully-in-residence Jin Akutsu. Although he behaves like a thug, Akutsu is a gifted athlete and a cagey player: he's the most dangerous challenger Ryoma has faced. Seigaku captain Tezuka calls the match a contest between Akutsu's pride and Ryoma's courage, but much more is at stake. As the face-off continues, Coach Ryuzaki sees Ryoma improving, but his spiritual growth outweighs his athletic progress: he moves from "samurai junior to samurai." Ryoma's discipline and dedication embody the traditional virtues ofbushido; Akutsu's cruelty and arrogance represent their negation. A junior high tennis match becomes a moral duel comparable to the battle between Kenshin and Sishio inRurouni Kenshin. Coach Ryuzaki has Ryoma, Momo, Inui, Tezuka, and their friends training for the next tournament the day after their victory in the Metropolitan. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Just a few things) 『I know I've enjoyed this anime for many years now and it is still one of my favorites. What's been said here is what I'm going to say so I will skip ahead to just cover some slight minute details. I remember the first time I bought the set it came with a mini manga with some great paperback art with the first chapter of the first manga inside which was a neat bonus. After watching it so much the discs were not repairable so I had to buy a new set, lol go me. It sadly didn't come with the booklet I mentioned above which makes me sad because mine got damaged by a friend which sucks. All in all I'll say what everybody else has said it's a great story. Great artwork, great story, decent music, and great character design this will keep you busy for a loooong time. By the way maybe it's just me but does it seem to anybody else that where season 2 ends they quit producing new episodes so the story seems incomplete? Also, if you have region 2 DVD player I recommend finding Steel Angel Kurumi Zero. It's an alternate storyline that dips into some of the other angels that weren't given any spotlight but I don;t recommend the live action series. I've not seen it myself yet but it just looks cheesy.』
(Cute characters, good art work, mediocre story) 『I originally bought this title because it looked very cute to me after watching a commercial for it on one of my other DVDs. I immediately enjoyed the artwork, and the characters were very cute in their own ways. However, I didn't find the story terribly gripping. The military comes looking for the main character in hopes of obtaining her heart because of the power it contains. It sounded interesting, but with each episode being 15 minutes, and 24 episodes in this part of the series, it doesn't cover much ground. I didn't find it very interesting until the end, which - for me - made it worth watching. After that you get 4 mini episodes which take place around the time frame of season 1 which are very cute. They don't really have any significant plot, but they aren't supposed to. They seem to just be there for fun, and I liked them. And finally we get to season two... When it comes to this one, I think I can only reiterate what many of the previous reviewers have already said: This season is complete and utter crap. You can watch it if you want to, I suppose, but you'll only find yourself wasting your time. But, on the whole, I'd say Steel Angel Kurumi (minus season 2) is fairly enjoyable, and would be good as a light hearted series. If you don't like slight indications of lesbianism, I wouldn't suggest this title. Otherwise, though, I'd say you're pretty much set』
(in my opinion) 『Well, dont trust the other reviews before you buy this if you want to watch a good anime that has above average details. THIS anime blew my mind... in a bad way. characters and animation are well done but the story of the characters pissed me off and arritated me. What i mean is that how can a little boy which seems to me like 4 to 6 years old kinda "become" like a teen or adult relationship with a android within the story. I mean his older brother should have been the person to awaken KURUMI but things started not to make sense.
If you want to buy this anime, i suggest watch some clips and parts of this movie before you want to buy it. Some parts of the story is entertaining without the main characters but overall, this killed it for me of the whole series.』
(Sequels No Good) 『Sequels never live up to their originals. I watched this anime and fell in love with it. I've seen a lot of animes so it takes a good one to grab me. Once I started watching I had to keep watching. Kurumi with her love for her master. Saki(also a girl) and her feelings for Kurumi (but not telling) and Karinka the young imature girl who had a crush on the main character as well and always fought over him with Kurumi. I'm not going to reveal much so as not to spoil. This was very cute, with action, comedy and very brief nudity. The characters are all lovable. The story is good a little predictable though, but still so good. Season 1 and the encore episodes were all great. Season 2 proves how bad sequels can be. Kurumi forgets about her master and everything else and everyone turns into lesbians. Now I've got nothing against lesbian or gays. Everyone live life as they choose, but one the best qualities of season 1 that grabbed me was the love that Kurumi had for her master and the love that he returned, now she forgets and falls in love with a girl 75 years later. Its almost like season 1 never happened. The story is so random and not well done. Basically its like the story started over and was a cheap ripoff of the first season. Not much makes sense at all. I only watched 2 episodes of season 2 before I got disapointed. It does keep its humor from season 1, but thats all. I bought this set, but if I had a choice I would have taken it without season 2. I rated it 5 out of 5 because of season 1 and the encore, but season 2 gets 1 out of 5. So if u have the money try to buy this series without season 2. In the end sequels are no good.』
(Give Me An Order Master!) 『Well, I must say that I ordered this series based on the reviews of everyone else and I am very pleased. The series starts off with the main character Nakahito Kagura (a 12-14 year old boy that has the power of a mystic) waking up the Steel Angel (this gets explained in depth in the series) Kurumi because of a dare from his friends (with friends like this, he won't need enemies). And the way he wakes this Steel Angel with...a kiss. And after that, let the laughs begin. To explain, Kurumi is basically the ultimate bodyguard but one of the most possessive women...and that's putting it mildly. Granted, she does mean well, but doesn't know how (or when) to restrain herself. The quickest example I can think of is when Nakahito Kagura "friends" come back around and ask him what did he discover in the house to where the military shows up? Well, his friends start making threats that they will beat it out of him...and then Kurumi shows to defend her master (this is Nakahito Kagura). In short, she would have really hurt Nakahito Kagura "friends", but he steps and saves their lives. So let me break down how the series is:
Season 1: 5 out 5-good series and pretty solid plot Encore: 5 out 5-kinda wraps up the season with Nakahito Kagura realizing his true feelings for Kurumi and the depth of respect he has for her. Season 2: 3 out of 5-this feels more like an add-on then an actual season.
In short, I would recommend this series to anyone who doesn't mind having a good laugh and getting away from the more serious anime.

I think Raditz should have met Goku for a bit of sibling rivalry as they are brothers. I still cry when Piccolo chooses to die at the end. The storylines are similiar to that of DBZ.』
(Love it!) 『Excellent! Not Dragonball z, but pretty damn good for a show which had almost nothing to do with the creator of dragon ball besides the character designs.』
(An ok saga) 『This a pretty ok end to the series, its not as bad as people say.It might have some slow moments but it gets knocked harder than it should.I would advise new dragonball fans to not start with this.Start with dragonball its a good start to everything. You can get the individual dvds very cheap on amazon.I give it 4 stars because the fights don't have that fast action fighting like the the rest of the series, the charecters are weaker except for goku, and also vegeta at the end,and the fights aren't as climactic as in the rest of the series. It could have had more movies though, but as a big db and dbz fan I have to like dbgt.I recommend buying this part of db series after you watch dragonball and dragonballz.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (If This is the Mecha Sci-Fi of Tomorrow, it's Time to Start Watching Fantasy) 『Some series create a sense of intrigue when you are thrown straight into the mix without an explanation - Elfen Lied: Diclonius Report Complete Collection is one of them. However, for that to be effective there needs to be a sensible, satisfying explanation at some point. Gasaraki gives none.
I knew from the first episode that this series had lost me. It held a lot back on the storytelling, but in the sense of "we're not going to let you know who's who or what's what" more than any gripping sense of mystery. Like a modern-day Hollywood movie, they brought up a lot of correct details about why bipedal machines have never been utilized, but they never really get into what changed that and all portrayal of them in action was just like every other "the mecha are invincible except to each other" that makes me dislike many mecha shows.
The characters are typically a vital point of a series, but even by the end I felt absolutely no attachment to a single one of them. They, like the series, remained dry, flat, and lifeless. I understand that this is supposed to be more a political thriller, but they tried to bring in action and a few other things and failed at every single mark. Besides the lame story (which cops out at the end, making the time feel even more wasted), the sound, music, and graphics were unexceptional. Vandread and Vandread the Second Stage: Complete Collection looked and sounded amazing from the first 30 seconds and never disappointed even to the last 30 seconds. This series let me down from the start and never bothered to pick things back up.』
(Reaches a bit too far in the end.) 『Gasaraki is one of those shows that seems to be either a masterpiece or a total bomb, depending on who's doing the reviewing. Naturally, I'm right in the middle. Gasaraki is slow moving at first, but picks up speed around episode 13 and moves well to the end. The visuals are excellent for the era it was made, and the minimalistic soundtrack fits it well. The dub is competent, if not stellar, and it's interesting to hear some of ADV's veterans in early roles. As a political thriller, it's done well, with lots of intrigue and sub plots. The ending, however, felt like a deux ex machina to me, with the revealing of the origin of Gasara.
』
(Great attempt to take mecha in a new direction) 『This either will or will not be your cup of tea depending on how much patience you have, which is to say it takes some to appreciate this complex series. This is one of those mechas where you have the standard teen pilots, ambiguous blue-haired girl, and secret organization. That said, the series is really an attempt to lay a Noh drama on top of the mecha story and requires some background on Noh theatre to really appreciate. Anyway, approach it as a Noh piece and you will see what an impressive attempt this series really is.
It isn't a perfect series as the complexity of the story adds confusion where less may have been more. This is a series that relies on lots of text (with the newscasters serving as a type of Noh chorus) and at times, there's simply too much going on. Some episodes simply end, but this may be a preference (on my part) of episodes which can be self-contained as well as appreciated on the whole. Overall, Gasaraki is an above-par series for those interested and at the price, it's one to own!』
(Just Like I Ordered!) 『Product arrived in exactly the condition the seller stated. Arrived in a speedy fashion as well. Will use this seller again.』
(not an EVA rip off.) 『Many have called Gasaraki an Neon Genesis Evangelion: Platinum Collection rip off, and although I can see some of the reasons why, I could not disagree more. Although both shows have similar looking female leads (Miharu has a striking resemblance to Rei), both deal with mechs, and to some degree philosophy, the overall themes and focuses of the two shows are very different. EVA deals mainly with the human physique, the thoughts and ideas of its characters in order to explore what it is that makes its main character, Shinji, feel so lonely, outcast, and alone. EVA is mainly about the minds and thoughts of its characters with some mech battles thrown into it to make it a little bit exiting.
Gasaraki on the other hand is more of a political drama than anything else. Rarely does it dive deep into the minds of its characters, rarely does it explore the human mind in the way EVA does, instead it focuses on the politics of a near future world, the ways nations and major corporations constantly scheme against each other.
Although this show isn't a mech series, not in the way EVA or Gundum are, it does give a very realistic version of how mechs, or bie-pedaled weapons, could really be used in actual combat. EVA's mechs weren't practical in any way, and most others I've seen are used merely for the sake of having battles between giant robots, Gasaraki's mechs on the other hand could actually be used by real armies in real life wars. They have strengths and weakness that real weapons systems would have. They are very maneuverable, they can ever buildings, and can run circles around tanks. On the other hand, they are extremely difficult to pilot for long periods of time, and jam in the sand. They aren't invincible fighting machines like the Evangelions are in EVA, there simply a new battle platform, just like a tank or a personnel carrier with its own strengths and weaknesses. The mech battles, for the most part, are very realistic and exiting to watch. If you've ever wanted to see what a real mech in battle would be like, this show is a definite must see.
CHARACTERS. This show has a very large cast. From the Gowa family, which has seven members, to the TA team, which has eight members, to the Japanese politicians and illegal immigrants, it's very hard to keep track of everyone. Fortunately none of the characters look alike, so it's not too hard to tell them from one another.
The show also has a very great cast of secondary characters, some even better than the main characters. The TA crew is very fun to watch, with LT Sunao AKA munchkin (she's the youngest member) being my personal favorite. None of them get very deep pasts; for that matter neither do any of the main characters, but they do serve their purpose of lightning the mood of what otherwise could be a very dark series and movie the plot forward. Some, Captain Jun for instance, do get some pretty good development, even if it's completely dropped. Some are funny, some are serous, and some are just a little quirky, but they all get their own unique personalities and habits, which makes them all very fun characters to watch.
At the same time, however, the main characters, Yushiro Gowa and Miharu, are never really developed, especially Miharu. She's never given a real personality, or any sort of past. I never got a feel for who she really was, what she was thinking, or what her motivations were. In the end she, unfortunately, turned into a carbine copy of Rei from EVA. she was young, a mech pilot, a tool used by ambitious men, had short blue hair, and never did or said much of anything at all. Just as Rei was wasted in EVA, Miharu is wasted in Gasaraki. It's a real shame.
One character that was interesting to watch was Misuzu, Yushiro's little sister. All though the beginning part of the series she's the most annoying character I've ever seen (well, one of the most). She had a horrible voice actress, she didn't look her age, and she constantly referred to Yushiro as "big brother" instead of by his name, and was always weeping and running around scared. I have siblings and know how they act, but this girl was just too perfect, too innocent and whiny. She talks about dieing for her love, and quotes Hamlet. In the last volume though, her character completely changes from one of wasted potential to one of great interest. I won't ruin the ending, but lest just say she plays a surprising role in the outcome of this series.
PLOT. The plot in this series seems to change every two volumes, so there really are three parts.
Volumes 1-2 focus mainly on the war in Belgistan. These volumes introduce all the main characters and give us some really interesting battles to watch. As I've already talked about the war, I won't go into further detail.
Volumes 3-5. The middle part of the series, and the part I dislike the most, focuses on the two main characters, Yushiro and Miharu, running away from their captures and trying to find out just who exactly they are. These episodes get very mystical and delve a lot into Japanese myth and culture. We get to see a little bit of Japans deep past.
Volumes 6-7 bring the series back on track, revolve around a right wing attempt to other throw the Japanese government, and send the US into economic depression. This is, by far, the most exiting part of the series. When the US cuts wheat exports to other nations dew to crops failing, people riot in the streets and the Japanese government is forced to declare marital law. Since the right wing fanatics are in control of the military, they easily take control of the government after this. They then put into motion a plan that will throw the entire world into depression. In response the US sends it own TA's into battle.
ENDING. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I've seen good series become great series because of their endings, Now and Then, Here and There (Complete Collector's Boxed Set) comes to mind, and I've also seen great shows get ruined by their endings like EVA. Although I wouldn't say Gasaraki was ruined, I'd say that the ending brought it down to a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating. This is probably where most people get the idea that this is an EVA rip off, the ending is so much like it. I don't like psycho babble; I want the ideas and meaning to come out in the story, not a monologue at the very end. Fortunately the ending psycho babble only lasts for half of the last episode instead of two whole episodes like EVA's did, but at the same time it isn't as intelligent as EVA's ending (although that ending was very needlessly boring and complicated). Gasaraki could have been a 5 star ending, but that ending was just unsatisfying. The ending credits save a little face, but just a little.
MUSIC. Most anime's have great opening songs but horrendous closers, think Serial Experiments Lain - Boxed Set (Signature Series), Cowboy Bebop - The Perfect Sessions (Limited Edition Complete Series Boxed Set), EVA, and just about every other anime series out there. This one is the complete opposite. It has a completely horrible opening song, but a really beautiful closer. The rest of the music for this series isn't really noteworthy; nothing really stands out.
BOTTOM LINE. I've only touched the surface of what Gasaraki has to offer. There is so much more to this series that I just wasn't able to get to. this series really has a lot more in common with Ghost in the Shell then it does with EVA, so if you like Ghost than this might be good for you.
Replay value; low.』 『Gasarakiblends high-quality animation with interesting mecha designs and a convoluted plot that borrows heavily fromEvangelion. In the not-too-distant future, the robot-suits of the Gowa Corporation fight in a Middle Eastern conflict modeled on the Gulf War. That battle is linked to the Gowa family's attempts to unleash the Gasaraki, a powerful entity from another dimension, through a Noh dance by Yoshiro Gowa, the youngest of the brothers. Miharu, a young woman who shares a psychic bond with both Yoshiro and the Gasaraki, thwarts their efforts. While his older brother Kazukiyo plots with a fanatic right-wing cabal to "purify" Japan, Yoshiro and Mirahu embark on a voyage of self-discovery. They learn that the real Yushiro Gowa died eight years ago, and share a vision of a revolt in Heian Japan (794-1185) involvingKugai, huge mobile suits with faces modeled on Noh masks. When Yoshiro and Miharu block Kazukiyo's plot to resurrect the mysterious Gasaraki, they are carried into anEvangelion-like collage of still artwork, processed live action, drawn animation, and computer-generated imagery, overlaid with a pointillist vocal track. Toru Nozaki's screenplay leaves major plot threads dangling, including Yoshiro's death and replacement. Director Ryusuke Takahashi struggles to move the various subplots along, but the result is like watching a juggler trying to keep one ball too many in the air.Gasarakidivides viewers into fervent partisans and furious detractors. (Romance and adventure spanning four centuries.) 『Four hundred years ago in Japan, warring clans battled each other for control of the island. Unwilling to let death stop their fight, the warriors of each clan began to reincarnate themselves, leading to an ongoing war that today shows no signs of abating.
17 year old Takaya is the reincarnated leader of the Uesugi clan--but he can't remember it. When strange people begin showing up and telling him that he is, in fact, Lord Kagetora, he refuses to believe it until dangerous circumstances force him to confront his past.
As the episodes unfold and more people begin to target his life, Takaya tries to remember just what horrible trauma in his past made him forget everything. Just what has it to do with the handsome and powerful Naoe, and Naoe's obvious sexual obsession with him? What did Naoe do to him...and what did he do to Naoe?
The Mirage of Blaze anime is a 13 episode condensed version of nine novels. For the most part the animators do a great job translating the book to the TV screen; they get all the important events from the books and do it with dramatic flair. However, be warned that as there's so much material to cover and so many characters to introduce that you have to really pay attention to figure out what's going on and to keep all the characters, places and clans straight.
The focus of the series is the rather twisted (and fascinating) relationship between Naoe and Takaya, and the retrieval of Takaya's past memories. Because there are forty books in the written series, it was obviously difficult for the writers to bring the series to and end, but I think they did an admirable job. Though open-ended, there was a sense of closure that made made the last episode satisfying.
The Japanese acting was wonderful. The voices were perfect, and both emotionally intense scenes and action scenes came across beautifully. The English voices are less fitting in my personal opinion, but all of the actors did well and made Mirage of Blaze an unusually good dub.
Unless homosexuality bothers you (and it would have to bother you a lot, because except for two almost-kisses the Naoe/Takaya relationship is almost all innuendo), this series is recommended for fans of romance, history and supernatural action alike.』
(I love this anime!) 『Mirage of Blaze has an involving story line and exciting character interactions, characters you could just fall in love with and characters that inspire sympathy.』
(Good but not great.) 『Yoai(boy-boy love)...if you dont like it then dont watch this anime. There is not a lot but enough. This series was good, the animation very well done and the characters were pretty well developed. However, the story was very very slow moving. It seemed like hardly anything ever happened. And the romantic conflict between the 2 main characters never came to a close...nothing got resolved. And if your like me, you will love the hair. I am a sucker for great hair in an anime...so much that ill hardly watch one that doesnt have awesome hair somewhere. Hope this helped.』
(A masterpiece of beautiful sensibility and character development) 『I just finished viewing this anime series and was totally blown away by the masterful character development, complex relationships, and emotional intensity of the very attractive characters. It has a compelling and complex plot that held my interest so well that I was quickly hooked and anxious to see what would transpire in each of the next episodes (there are 3 episodes on each of the 4 CDs). The music and graphics are also top rate. After viewing this series, I went out and bought Japanese language instructional CDs and will now review the series in the original Japanese with English subtitles to help me start learning Japanese. The English dubbed version on the DVD is also quite good. I also highly recommend the sequel DVD, "Mirage of Blaze - the River Edge," and am passionately hoping that the wonderful production team that put this series together will delight us with additional volumes.』 『Takaya Oogi is a street smart high school student, dedicated to protecting his best friend Yuzuru Narita. (I had no idea...) 『When I bought this DVD set in 2000, that it would become so popular among us anime fans, nor such a rare or valued collector;s item.
I've been a big anime fan since the early sixties, when Astroboy first hit NBC. As American anime distributiors in this country is somewhat collapsing in on itself, this sort of collector's example should tell Japan that there is still a HUGE marlet for thier anime product over here.
I would really hate to see the anime fans here in the US have to go back to the bad old days, when the only anime in America was poorly made and somewhat illegal fansubs.

(Review of Tenchi Muyo OVA: A dream for any Tenchi or anime fan) 『I remember when I watched the Tenchi Muyo OVA series for the first time. It was back in the 90's when I was going to college. I caught this show on a program line-up called Toonami on Cartoon Network. I loved Tenchi Muyo OVA it was a rip roaringly hysterically good time then and it still is. The premise of the series is a young man named Tenchi Masaki is about to have his life turned upside down. Several crazy, extremely powerful, and quirky alien women fall in love with him and move into his house which is transported to a mountainous region in Japan. The first woman is Ryoko a powerful 500 year old space pirate who has looks that could kill and quite a flare for doing and saying the most shocking things. The second is Ayeka a stunning princess of the planet Jurai, proud, proper, and fairly conservative in her ways she provides the perfect humorous counterbalance to Ryoko; alongside Ayeka is her little sister Sasami, a cute and cuddly little girl who hides a powerful secret. The next woman is Washu, a brilliant and mad scientist who wields an amazing array of scientific gadgetry beyond imagination, and the final woman in this cacophony of insanity is Mihoshi, a tanned, beautiful, and humorously ditzy Galaxy police officer whose record is definately not the greatest. Add into this two powerful cylindrical creatures made of living wood called Jurai guardians, a cabbit (A creature that's part cat, part rabbit) with a fierce appetite for carrots, and the fact that Tenchi's grandfather Katsuhito is in fact a legendary warrior who defeated Ryoko centuries ago and you've got the makings for a hysterically awkward situation. In the course of the series Tenchi will discover incredible truths about himself as he tries to maintain his sanity among all the women vying for his affections, and powerful villians who have bad intentions for Earth. Make sure you have a chair with a good seat belt because you're in for one REALLY wild ride. One word of warning though this series contains adult humor and some nudity so I strongly suggest no kids under the age of 18 watch this. The acting in the English version and the subtitles in the Japanese language version are fairly good. And the THX and Dolby sound make for a first rate experience. That's why I'm giving Tenchi Muyo OVA (OVA Translates to: No Need for Tenchi by the by) a big thumbs up and a 5 star rating.』

Gold Foil printed plastic collector's card! • 420 minutes of Tenchi Muyo! (OVA Vol. 1-13, plus specials)』 『Although the title means something along the lines of "no need for Tenchi," everyone wants the hapless hero of this popular series. These 13 OAV episodes reunite the cast from the TV show, but with some changes. Sasami is initially much younger and less domestic; grandfather Masaki turns out to be Yosho, the long-lost Jurai prince who was betrothed to Ayeka centuries ago; genius-in-residence Wasshu reveals an unexpected bond with interstellar outlaw Ryoko. The tone is a little racier than the broadcast version: Ryoko runs around naked and the attempts to seduce the terminally klutzy Tenchi are more pointed.
In the first adventure (episodes 1-7), Tenchi inadvertently wakes a mummified demon who was imprisoned at the Masaki family shrine 700 years ago--none other than space pirate extraordinaire Ryoko. The problems she causes are dwarfed by the arrival of Jurai princesses Ayeka and Sasami, bubble-brained Galactic Police Agent Miyoshi--and interstellar criminal Kagato. Assuming the role (and costume) of the Crown Prince of Jurai, Tenchi defeats the evil Kagato with a magic sword that resembles the lightsabers inStar Wars.
Unexpected arrivals keep the Masaki household in chaos in the later, shorter adventures (episodes 8-13), including a baby cousin of Tenchi's, a shape-shifting robot who impersonates Ryoko, and the Emperor and Empress of Jurai. The writers occasionally lose track of the plot, especially in episode 13, "Here Comes Jurai," butTenchihas never been noted for its logic. In all the episodes, the filmmakers manage to balance interplanetary threats, teenage romance, and broad comedy with their usual aplomb.
TheTenchi Encyclopedia(powered by Wasshu OS) offers short biographies of the main characters with clips and stills, pencil tests, digital comics, Japanese commercials, and full credits for the series. A must-have forTenchifans.--Charles Solomon』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (The first 2/3 is great but the last 1/3 falls short) 『This companion series to Full Metal Panic focus on the romantic comedy high school aspects of the series. It's not really necessary to watch to enjoy Full Metal Panic!: The Second Raid (the actual follow-up to the original series).
The first 2/3 of the episodes are great to watch and are usually split into two shorter segments. Unfortunately, the last third, where each segment is a full episode, loses the comedic edge. There are still funny parts, but not as many. Instead we get some too over-the-top segments and too much fan service.
If you liked the comedic high school aspects of the original Full Metal Panic series then you will like this series. Even the weaker last third has it's moments (e.g. Kaname all dressed up in a kimono) and the first two thirds are definitely worth watching.
The last third knocks this from 5 stars down to 4. But it's still a great series, especially if you cannot get enough of Kaname and Sousuke. And the English dub is as usual good -- I mean, how do you beat Luci Christian and Chris Patton anyway?!

(great season) 『got this as a gift for a friend but watched it and loved it would recomend this highly』
(Ban And Genji Back Again For Another Action Packed Adventure) 『If you have seen the first season of GetBackers and were somewhat dissatisfied with the ending than the second season completes most of those questions from the first. Half of the second season has Ban and Genji doing their usual job that at the end either causes them to not get paid or having to pay the damages with no money at the end. The rest of the season has them going back to the Limitless fortress to find out what has happened both with Makubex and the other people living inside the Limitless fortress. I do advise that people watch the first season to know who the characters are and what is going on with the series because if you don't you'll probably be confused for most of this season. The series is mostly light-hearted until the second half than it becomes a bit more dramatic. While there are fight scenes they aren't truly bloody or gory so this series can be seen by both adults and kids alike. The video is widescreen and the picture is clear and sharp. The Japanese voice actors did a terrific job as did most of the English voice actors though there are one or two that the English voice cast could have done without. I say to anime fans that this series is definitely one for their collection to get. Also I've seen that they have a new Getbackers 1&2 box set so for the price I say buy that one but if you're still unsure about this series try watching this series on t.v.(They show some episodes on the G4 channel and International Channel on Cox Digital Cable) and see if you like the series enough to get this new box set..』
(getbackers get better) 『I was hooked on getbackers from the get go. Season 2 in many ways is almost better than the first. The humour is more outrageous and the action is more compelling. Ban and Ginji are still as unlucky with money as always, but slowly the story begins to unravel the mystery of these two unfortunates in material wealth but wealthy in friendship. I have watched alot of anime in my time, but this is a stand alone series that is well worth the watch. That being said its one major flaw is the fact that the series tries to see the good in everyone no matter what. So it can come across as a little bit pretentious, but it is a nice idea never the less that friendship and compassion can overcome any obstacle and in that the series gets better.』 『If it’s lost, they’ll get it back. Doesn’t sound difficult, but when you throw in strange mutant powers and back it up with one of the top manga franchises in North America, it’s easy to understand why Get Backers is such a fan favorite anime series!』
