(LOVED IT!)
『THIS was such an exciting season of Inuyasha! Just about all the episodes make you want to watch more! its VERY, VERY addicting!

This season is about how Kagome lives a double life as a preasent-day schoolgirl and feudal-era demon slayer. Together with Inuyasha and friends, she continues the quest to collect the shards of the Sacred Jewel. With the threat of archenemy Naraku lurking at every turn, our heroes must face an array of foes, including a jelaous dark priestess, an evil mountion sage, giant ogres and deadly traps. THIS SERIES IS AWESOME!

This season does not just have the 27 episodes, it also has:stereo, bilingual (japanese&english), english subtitles, scene access menu, inuyasha special footage, and the textless opening and ending.

BUY THIS NOW! YOU WON'T BE DISAPOINTED!』

(Inuyasha Season 3)
『Wonderful season! It really has no boring episodes like other season. It has romance, action, and more enemies. Naraku's reincarnations, Kagura and Kanana, are amazing! I just love how Inuyasha helps others even when he acts all macho and such. Definitely a wonderful buy!』

(The third season of Inuyasha)
『This box set contains the twenty-seven episodes that make up the third season of the Inuyasha anime series. There are also three special features: an "Inuyasha Super Special" that recaps what happened during the second season of Inuyasha (I assume this aired in Japan right before the third season started), the "textless opening," and the "textless closing."

Unlike the first two season box sets, there were absolutely no trailers included on this box set. This wasa very welcome change from having the trailers included at the beginning of each disc for the second season dvd box set.

When it comes to the episodes, season three relied more on stories that spanned multiple episodes, even though there were only a couple of episodes that were labeled as being multi-part episodes. There were fewer stand alone episodes in this season when compared to seasons one and two. The third season definitely focused a lot more on character stories and character progressions than the previous two seasons.

This set is a "must have" if you are a fan of Inuyasha. While the special features aren't very impressive, the episodes included on this set help to shed some light on the characters and their motivations.』

(even better than 2)
『this series just keeps getting better as it goes on. if you were a fan of season 2 than you have to pick this up. the plot keeps getting thicker and is a must have. cant find any flaws in the series yet.』

(one of the reasons i love Anime so much)
『It isnt hard to believe that this show continued to bring in fans. It has your standard anime good vs evil. Monsters, battles upon battles and all of that other stuff. But Inuyasha brings up a notch with its excellent interaction between each of the characters Kagome (who gets sucked into this world through a well in her present day home) she makes trips back and for to see her family (Mom, grandfather and lil brother) and Inuyasha (with her sit boy affect everytime he annoys her which is pretty much all the time) that smashes Inuyasha's face in the ground on a regular basis, Sango and Maroku (sometimes liking each other but mostly Sango's slapping him because he can't keep his hands off of her bottom..for lack of a better term and every other female for that matter) and he's a monk on top of it. It adds something extra to an already great story...along with Shipo, Kilala (Sango's pet that turns into a ferocious cat when in battle). Plus Inuyasha's brother Seshomaru (sp?) who has his own issues with his little brother and the big bad evil of the whole show Naraku (he's one powerful guy no question) and uses any and all means to get what he wants. Also add to the fact Inuyasha's past won't go away in the form his lover Kikiyo and of course she has a younger sister (not so young looking now that 50 years have passed) who is a priestess just like her.

Its just a great collection brought together for fans of old and new to enjoy at their leisure with so much action going and everyone trying to get a piece of that Sacred Jewel shard..its no wonder so many monsters are running loss all over the countryside. Of course with the way Season 3 ended its only going to get more intense for everyone as they continue to search for more jewel shard fragments and a way to wipe out Naraku for good.

Excellent buy and so addictive its crazy.』

『Kagome lives a double life as present-day schoolgirl and feudal-era demon-slayer. Together with half-demon Inuyasha and friends, she continues the quest to collect the shards of the Sacred Jewel. With the threat of archenemy Naraku lurking at every turn, our heroes must face an array of foes, including a jealous dark priestess, an evil mountain sage, giant ogres, and deadly traps. Come join the adventure in the thrilling third season ofInuyasha.』
『As Rumiko Takahashi's "Feudal Fairy Tale"Inu-Yashareaches its midpoint, the characters examine where their loyalties lie. When an elegant lord proposes to Sango, Miroku, the itinerant monk with the roving hands, must weigh his affection for her. Because he's the youngest member of the team, the other characters treat fox-spirit Shippo like a child; he begins to show signs of maturity, working to become a contributor to the battle against Naraku. Tsubaki, the Dark Priestess who fought Kikyo for possession of the Shikon Jewel 50 years earlier, uses sorcery to take possession of Kagome--and tries to force her to attack Inu-Yasha. Kagome's love for the half-demon makes the teenage heroine more difficult to control than the youth-obsessed Tsubaki anticipated. But two darker relationships provide the key to these adventures. Wind Sorceress Kagura wants to escape from Naraku's domination; she schemes against her demon-lord and covertly aids his enemies. The bitter rivalry between Inu-Yasha and Sesshomaru comes to the fore as each brother attempts to destroy Naraku single-handedly. In the lighter-hearted episode 72, Inu-Yasha reveals the seldom-seen kindly side of his nature when he helps the Lynx-demon Bunza rescue his tribe in a way that preserves the diminutive boy's fragile pride. Knowing there are episodes ofInu-Yashayet to come is reassuring--like knowing there's more chocolate cake left as you finish your first slice. (One to See, Not to Own)
『This is a really good show, but it's definitely not worth it to pay 30+ to own it. I had watched about 5 episodes online before I decided that it might be worth buying the series (it's that good) however I wish I had seen it all before I did. The ending is unsatisfying and leaves you wondering why such a great show was canceled before it could be finished! Watch it online, enjoy it and then move on with your life.』

(Funny and well worth the short ride)
『Just do yourself a favor and skip the 1st episode for last. It'll make a whole more sense and not leave with the idea "what in the world am i watching?". Beyond that Kyon's narration of what he's actually thinking is what makes this series so great. But Haruhi is also crazy if not a borderline exhibitionist but it only adds more to the series. Also the world actually does revolve around Haruhi and yeah its pretty funny that way. Definetly worth checking out』

(Great Characters are the Unrealized Potential, Existentialism Themes were the Nail in the Coffin)
『I was quite interested to try this series out. I knew it had one hell of a following, and that dance was all over the place a few years back. I started with episode 00. That was a mistake. If you are going to watch, don't bother with that episode until you have a sense of the characters. Come back to it after finishing the first 4 episodes or so.

Now, on to the disappointment. I am completely baffled as to how anyone could sing the praises of this series. It is a genuine snoozefest. I refused to give up on it despite my boredom. I kept going, but in the middle of episode 9, I just pressed stop and returned the series. They were going back to the theme of alternate reality bubbles and I'd just had enough.

There is a lot of potential in this show, but it goes unrealized and ignored for the most part. The characters are great and there are moments of genuine humor, mostly revolving around Kyon's deadpan reactions to Haruhi's ridiculousness. However, laughs were few and far between. The whole premise feels overly serious and half-baked,. They delve into philosophical and existential realms that are best left to boring arm chair discussions amongst those who enjoy talking in circles.

I wanted so much to enjoy this show. It sounded from all descriptions and the generally positive public reaction to be a wonderful and entertaining show, but it put me to sleep on three separate occasions. I even tried to watch it in 1.5 speed to counter the unnecessary slowness of the show. It helped a bit, but even being a fan of Jarmusch, this show was often too slow.

It's hard to give a cohesive analysis of the show because it never felt cohesive for a moment, and I have so many issues with it. Here's the bottom line: don't bother.』

(A Nice Comedic Romance Series For Your Home)
『Here's another series that while not with a lot of hard-core action or a dark dramatic storyline is still very entertaining to watch and enjoy as well as for a good chuckle. The series has are two main characters Suzumiya the young high school girl looking for her own sense of existence and life and Kyon her less than thrilled club lackey and potential boyfriend. The nice thing is you actually feel the connection that Haruhi and Kyon seem to have and truly wish they would admit their feelings and become a couple in the series and the support characters are also very entertaining when they interact with theses two. The one thing is I'm sure many other fans feel is that the series is to short and we hope that the producers do indeed make another season of this wonderful show for us all. The animation is very good and the voice cast for the Japanese and English actors/actresses were great. The box set has a forth dvd that has a great deal of extras that are also very entertaining to see after watching the series and while the series is only about thirteen episodes is still addictive.』

(Highly Entertaining)
『The final episode is oddly slow, and the "00" episode makes literally no sense unless you watch it last. But overall, the show is worth every cent I spent, and I'd suggest it to anyone who likes anime.

It's funny, thought provoking, and a little over the top sometimes.』

『I thought that when I entered high school, my days of believing in aliens, time travelers and ESPers were going to be over. That is until she introduced herself. Claiming to be interested in only aliens, time travelers, and ESPers, Haruhi Suzumiya was the strangest girl I ve met in a long time. Before I knew what s going on, I ve been dragged into her weird club, and it looks like I m not the only one who has been drafted into this SOS Brigade of hers, because there are three other students who don t seem to be so ordinary themselves. Either way we ve all found ourselves caught up in Haruhi s quest to search for all things extraordinary. And what s this I hear about us making a movie?』
『Based on a series of best-selling novels by Nagaru Tanigawa,The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya(2006) overflows with zany energy. Despite the title, Haruhi Suzumiya is anything but melancholy: she's a bossy, outspoken high school girl who's searching for "aliens, time travelers, and espers." To aid her search, Haruhi founds a new club, The SOS Brigade. Although she doesn't realize it, Haruhi has actually found what she's looking for in her recruits: Yuki is an alien; Mikuru, a time traveler; Itsuki, an esper. Kyon, the put-upon narrator,is normal--at least superficially.Itsuki warns Kyon that the existence of the universe may depend on Haruhi's whims. When she gets upset, dark gaps open between dimensions, haunted byshinji(ghostly giants) whom Itsuki and other espers must destroy. Kyon wonders if he's having nightmares or protecting the world from destruction, but this storyline recedes as the series progresses. LikeDokkoidaandMagical Shopping ArcadeAbenobashi,Melancholyspoofs the clichés of anime andotakuculture. When the president of the computer club challenges the SOS Brigade to a duel playing "Day of Sagittarius 3," the episode turns into an outrageous spoof of sci-fi anime, with Haruhi shouting commands from the bridge of an imaginary space ship. But the series stops, rather than ends, with the story unresolved as Haruhi and Kyon walk off into the rain. Given the popularity ofMelancholyin Japan and the US, a sequel may be in the works. (Great Series)
『This was a wonderful series. Yes, it was violent and bloody and graphic, but its obviously for adults. The story was interesting and had a nice little twist at the end. The characters were likable and even evoked some compassion while killing (go figure). The animation was good and I thought the voice acting was decent. It was only 13 episodes, but it gives a nice sense of closure at the end so that it doesn't leave you wanting more, while at the same time leaving a little door for a follow-up series. I would definitely recommend this series to serious anime fans !』

(Review)
『This product arrive quickly and in perfect condition. It is one of the best anime series that I have seen.』

(Anime for shallow chuummmm...ps!)
『Yeah yeah yeah, I heard it all. The majority claims this tripe is good because alot of people like it. Well alot of people love driving drunk but it doesn't mean its good. And Elfen Peed is the definition of very bad anime. Cliche ridden and beyond stupid characters. Plus it simply don't know what it wants to be. is it comedy, is it horror who the hell knows? People claim the naysayers simply don't get it. But I read some of the discussions going on for months. And I think the fans are simply fooled by the smoke and mirrors, plus they have poor debating skills too. You guys are the ones who don't get it. If you dig this and consider it a masterpiece. Then you don't know what a masterpiece is. Millenium Actress, Samurai X, Nausicaa, Grave of the fireflies Now that's what I call some masterpiece there.』

(Box too big)
『Much too big box for just 3 DVDs ?!? It's 28mm thick.
Other 3-DVD-Pack I own are just 7mm thick.』

(A review more of the edition, not the series.)
『Hey all. I bought this edition recently, and was pretty disappointed with the packaging. The outside box is sturdy enough, but the inside discs are all kept on one spindle, rather than in separate cases or separate disc holders. While this isn't definitely going to mess the discs up, I believe it does increase the possibility of damage happening. If this type of packaging bothers you, then I'd suggest going with one of the previous editions.

(One of the Best)
『I'm a big anime fan, have seen a lot of it, and, I think that everyone who claims to be a fan should see this anime at least once. With a lot of talk of politics, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I promise that it makes up for it with drama, romance, intrigue, rather cool fighting scenes, and a great deal of humor. Laugh-out-loud funny, with a solid plot, and startling plot twists. The characters are simply amazing and well presented so that you can connect with them, some of whom have some rather fascinating oddities (one who always wears a mask, one who can get lost within two steps, etc), and you fall in love with all of them. Even the villains are fascinating and make you want to see more of them! The English dub, which I was rather worried about, is actually one of the better jobs I've seen done (good choice of voice actors as well). So I rate this a MUST see, it has something for everyone, you won't regret it.』

(Amazingly AWESOME!)
『I just bought this DVD box set. I watched the series a long time ago back when it first came out. I stopped watching the series because the second season was too long and I couldn't find them online. But when I saw it in FYE I just bought it because I missed it. BOY!!!! I fell in love with it again and I bought the series box set. It's worth it.』

(Saiunkoku Monogatari)
『Amazing. This series has such beautiful art with a mix of Asian culture. Each character has his/her own personality which contributes to the story plot. They capture your heart and make you laugh time after time. Though most people say Funimation recycles their voice actors, they really kept close to the sound of the voice of the Japanese this time 'round. Though it's not very popular, I think a lot of people could get into this if they would just watch an episode.』

(A Sweeping Tale of Politics and Romance)
『The more anime a person takes in, the clearer it becomes that lumping all Japanese animation into a single classification is an absolutely ridiculous notion. A majority of the anime I find myself attracted to could almost be mistaken for some of the finer American made "cartoons" save for the fact that the DVDs contain the original Japanese vocal track. Enter The Story of Saiunkoku from Geneon, distributed through Funimation. Not only is the show overflowing with Japanese sensibilities and visual charm, it's built on a solid foundation of Asain culture so thoroughly that there's no mistaking its origin regardless of the language track to which you find yourself listening.

Coming in at a whopping 975-minute runtime, The Story of Saiunkoku Complete Season One box set consists of 39 episodes spanning 9 discs. The packaging breaks it down into five thin pack cases housed in a charming cardboard outer slipcase. The show wears an appropriate if not slightly conservative TV 13&Up rating due to a few adult-themes (war, good versus evil on an epic scale), some light sexual innuendo (a king everyone thinks is homosexual), and a little bit of drama.

Language options are typical sub&dub meaning both the original Japanese vocal track is present as well the choice of an English dub (either presented in Stereo) with the option of running English subtitles available with either vocal track.

Extras include textless opening and ending themes and a host of Geneon anime previews on each and every one of the nine DVDs.

The story, which has to be watched to be fully understood (or appreciated for that matter) goes something like this: Shurei, daughter of a broke aristocrat in fictional medieval country Saiunkoku has everything it takes to be a member of government except for the opportunity (because women are prohibited in this society).

Her father, a glorified librarian with a title, discovers the opportunity of a lifetime for young Shurei as the king's personal consort. Using his influence, her father is able to secure the position so that Shurei can put her motherly instincts to good use (and hopefully secure some wealth in the process) by supervising the young (19 year-old) king of the nation while injecting a little motivation and ambition into his routine.

Suspecting an arrogant and close-minded ruler, Shurei charges into the role only to discover a gentle, shy and insecure young ruler who just so happens to be of similar age. They strike up a solid relationship in no time, each forcing the other to change their view of members on such opposite sides of society's spectrum. King Ryuki, inspired by Shurei's knowledge, passion and ambition soon takes a more active role in the governing of his land while simultaneously providing Shurei an opportunity to put her skills to use despite the fact that women are not able to pursue such ambitions directly.

Now I'm not sure whether or not that summary captures the scope of the prose, so I will follow it by saying that those expecting wild action scenes, hilarious dialog sessions, passionate lovemaking sequences or even a quick moving plot structure will probably be disappointed. The truth is that The Story of Saiunkoku is an anime piece that requires, in fact demands, a certain level of patience and commitment from its viewer if satisfaction is to be found. In other words it relies on very few gimmicks along the way to tell its tale and makes no apologies for doing so.

The grand prose is methodic and evenly paced with character development taking the foreground of each episode. Sure there are moments sprinkled about that may earn a chuckle or build a little tension, but they serve to break the monotony of the show's rhythmic progression rather than to act as a selling point on their own.

The visuals are an interesting blend of traits with character models absolutely rife with detail, occasionally at the expense of the backgrounds. Then just as quickly, that relationship can completely inverse with background art that is simply stunning to behold. Again though, the viewer gets a definite sense that the show's creators deliberately avoided going too far in any single direction that could possibly detract from the story being told.

The fact that the first season consists of 39 episodes spanning nine DVDs should act as some indication to the type of pacing one is to expect. Almost like sipping hot coffee or sitting down to read the newspaper, Saiunkoku is best enjoyed at a relaxed pace and is a sort of acquired taste. Action junkies may be quick to dismiss the show once the opening narration (which is almost like something from Lord of the Rings) fades to a semi--contemporary setting where a young teacher tells the tale to her wide-eyed students and similarly diehard fans of the risqué will likely grow tired of waiting for lead character Shurei Hong and King Ryuki Shi to just hurry up and get it on.

The viewer who will get the most from this series is most likely someone who enjoys Japanese culture and politics coupled to fantastic artwork and youthful protagonists. I wouldn't even think of suggesting that the show's for everyone but for the few it really is for, prepare to be impressed.』

(A Very Entertaining Series Of Feudal Times And The Might Of One Feisty Woman)
『I've never seen the series Twelve Kingdoms but even without that this series will entertain most anime fans regardless if their more into the action or mecha animes. The series is a nice woven story of court life, the intrigue and political back dealings of the royal court, and the personal lives of the new emperor and his friends. The series main female character Shurei Hong a young female noble of an impoverished home whose dream is to be a governmental official but cannot because she is a woman finds a unique loophole when a powerful lord of the royal court makes her an offer, be the consort to the new emperor and teach him to be more refine and proper in the court since the scandal of his seemingly homosexual dalliances have caused quite a stir in the court. Along the way in her new position she meets new friends and new enemies in the court as the people in the shadows who wish to keep the emperor under their hold see her as a real threat to their power, but young Shurei has her own agenda as well as she wishes to show the young and seemingly somewhat naive emperor how the regular people live and how he should try and better their lives instead of just satisfying the nobles of the court. The series does have undertones of same sex relations but nothing hardcore and almost humorous in some cases, but if their are people who find that sort of thing offensive than this series is one they should pass over. The series has a nice touch of drama, humor, a little action, and a nice touch of romance(With a man and woman), the animation is very well done and the voice cast for the English/Japanese actors/actresses were great for their roles they voices in the series, The extras sadly aren't much just the usual trailers and textless intro/ending songs. The series for this set is all 39 episodes on nine dvds so for this price and how entertaining the series was this is a must have for any anime fan...』
『Saiunkoku is a country with eight powerful houses governed by one emperor. However the new leader Ryuki cares not for his new role and is rumored to spend his days chasing after noblemen in his court. Enter Shurei, a princess whose family has fallen upon hard times. Her dreams of becoming a government official are unattainable since she is a woman, but a twist of fate gives her the chance of a lifetime. If she agrees to become the emperor's consort and turn him into a respectable ruler, she will be greatly rewarded...』

(Good show)
『I enjoyed this Anime collection very much. You can find other reviews that will tell you all you could want to know about the story and content. So in summation it was amusing and enjoyable.』

(Better than good...)
『I had taken some time to pick this up because it is "all over the place"...

In retrospect it would have been a better choice to pick it up sooner...

This is good clean fun that I really think should be "all over the place"!

1) The art is very good.
2) The story, while not remarkably original, is done well and fun none-the-less.
3) The audio is good.
4) The characters are well developed.
5) The plot could have been stronger moving somethings along a little better but overall it was solid.

There is a quality to this anime that keeps you wanting to know the truth and plot twists that make this very worth watching.

As harem anime goes this is pretty darn good.

Fan service is light on this and it is done in good taste.

Remarkably without a lot of fan service, the women and girls in this all maintain a very good balance of sexy and funny that rounds this anime out very well.

At the end of this anime you look forward to the next installment expecting to see old friends in new situations.

It is pretty warm and fuzzy like that.

Definitely one to keep for your collection.』

(From a retrospective POV)
『This was one of the first anime series that I ever watched, and for some reason never picked up the DVDs for them. Now that I'm watching it over again, its age really shows. (Original air date is 2000) The series is great to those of you who like multiple (hot) girls wailing on a "weak" guy type of character. Yes, it's quite implausible, but if you're into anime for plausibility and realness, then you're in the wrong genre.

VIDEO QUALITY
The video source has so much ghosting, frame blends, and discoloration (compared to 2009 titles) that it's painful to look at, even with all your DVD player's real-time filters. The opening sequence makes my eyes explode since it has tons of frames like that. This is not the fault of FUNIMATION since I remember that the original releases (even in Japan) had this kind of odd video quality. So I must warn people about this in case you're like me and am spoiled when it comes to animation production.

PACKAGING
As this release was meant for impulse buying, the packaging isn't that great. The cardboard DVD box is quite fragile and I even grazed it when running a scissor blade through the plastic to open it. The inside is better as it has the two DVDs in thin cases with double-sided artwork of all the girls. And even the discs has them all in underwear or less without going into frontal nudity. However, mine also has printing imperfections.

If you've watched this before and are feeling nostalgic, then you might be one the fence about this. In that case, I say go ahead and get it since it's so cheap. And for those of you watching for the first time, just as long as you keep its production year in mind and not set the bar impossibly high, you'll like this series.』

(Looking for the Promise Girl)
『"Love Hina" is one of my all-time favorite anime series, and one of the few that ever made me laugh out loud. It has been quite a few years since I visited the girls at the Hinata Lodge, and I am happy to say that the series is just as fun now as it first was when I watched it eight years ago.

At first, glance, "Love Hina" seems formulaic. Lovable loser Keitaro dreams of success, but seems to fail at everything he tries. Out of luck and plans, he goes to visit his Grandmother Hina and winds up the manager of the Hinata Lodge, a fantastically beautiful building with a backyard hot spring that is populated only by beautiful and feisty girls. Keitaro, the incurable romantic, has long be searching for his "promise girl," the love of his life that he knew back when he was about three years old, and to whom he promised they would grow up and attend Tokyo University (think Harvard) together, and get married. He can't remember the girl's name, but he hasn't given up hope. Just possibly, one of the gals at the Hinata Lodge is Keitaro's long-lost Promise Girl, and he just might find her if he doesn't get killed first. Hijinks ensue.

The storyline is pretty typical of "harem"-style anime series, but somehow "Love Hina" does everything right. Series creator Akamatsu Ken (Negima!) knows how to work an ensemble cast, giving each girl a distinct personality and story arc. Sure, much of the hijinks comes from Keitaro doing his best only to wind up with panties on his head, or walking in on one of the girls naked, only to get a swift kick for his troubles. That is standard Akamatsu fare. But "Love Hina" has some serious undercurrents and nuances that makes all the over-the-top stuff just that much funnier.

The animated series differs from the manga, which is pretty common in Japanese anime. I love both, personally, and felt that they did some really creative things with the "Love Hina" anime. One of my favorite episodes features the kendo girl Makoto in the in the flickering, black and white style of old Samurai films. There are other homages as well, to places as various as Godzilla and Pokemon and nods to other anime series.

This release from Funimation is just great, with nice picture and sound. The subtitles can be a little hard to read in spots, when the white fades into the background, but that is my only really complaint. I haven't listed to the English-dubbing because, well, I just generally don't like English-dubbing for anime.

This set collects the original twenty-four episodes of the series plus the bonus twenty-fifth episode, which was not included on the previously released Love Hina Anime Legends Complete Collection. The entire series is packed on four DVDs collected in slim cases. I have heard that some people had trouble with the packaging, but mine arrived in perfect condition and is nice and sturdy, so no complaints there. I love the slim-case packaging because, with the size of my anime collection, my shelves can use some relief.

Not included in this collection are the Love Hina Christmas Movie, the Love Hina Spring Movie, or the Love Hina Again OVA series, which have been released separately by other companies and as part of the Love Hina - Perfect Collection. I can only assume (and hope!) that Funimation will be coming out with a follow-up "Love Hina" collection that completes the series.』

(Not as good)
『For someone who has read all the Love Hina manga, I find the anime series lacking. I suggest you read first, watch after.』
『Attempting to fulfill a promise to his childhood sweetheart, Keitaro Urashima is determined to enter Tokyo University. After being rejected twice, he decides to leave home and stay at his grandmother's apartment complex to study. But when he arrives, his grandmother is gone and he finds himself under attack by the all-female residents. Will the girls accept him as their new apartment manager? Will his bones ever mend? More importantly, can he concentrate on his studies when he discovers that one of his tenants might be his long lost sweetheart?』
『Based on the manga by Ken Akamatsu,Love Hina(2000) is one of the best-loved examples of the "harem comedy" genre. When he was five years old, Keitaro Urashima promised a girl that they’d attend prestigious Tokyo University together. Now he's 20: he's failed the entrance exam twice, and is attending cram school, hoping to fulfill that promise. His life grows very complicated when his grandmother retires, making him the manager of the Hinata Apartments, which serves as a high-school girls’ dorm. The residents include an assortment of standard anime types: painfully shy Shinobu, violently anti-male kendo champion Motoko, irrepressible Su and brainy, pretty, hot-tempered Naru. Keitaro's kind heart wins over the girls, despite his low self- esteem, poor study habits and over-active fantasy life. Many of the episodes play off other series. In "Kendo Girl in Love," Motoko dreams herself into an old video game that spoofsSailor MoonandEl Hazard. (American viewers may not realize that the Dragon Palace and giant turtle refer to the Japanese Rip Van Winkle story "Urashima Taro", a play off Keitaro's last name, Urashima.) In another episode, the cast stages a slapstick adaptation of the classic Chinese novel "The Journey to the West" that brings down the house--and the theater--when they accidentally uncork a hidden hot spring. Further complications ensue when Keitaro blows the entrance exam yet again, and his grandmother returns from her travels, throwing his future into limbo. When he goes off to brood by himself, the other members of the cast reflect on how much their favorite goofball means to them, despite his shortcomings. Everyone may not live happily after, but by the end of Episode #24, they sort things out in a way that's appropriate to the story--and leaves openings for sequels. (Episode #25 is included with theLove Hina: Christmas Movie). Rated TV 14: comic violence, risqué humor, brief nudity, tobacco use.)--Charles Solomon

(Breathtaking animation.)
『Like Clannad, another one of my favorite series, this one is very cute and full of comedy, but it is also very sad at the same time. I can admit, at times I wanted to cry. But you know, being the manly man I am, I didn't. :P

I haven't listened to the English dub for this particular anime, but the Japanese voice acting is great. Very few spelling errors or wrong words in the subtitles.

By the way, I don't expect my rating to change, but it may. I still have 6 episodes to go before I complete the series.』

(WOW)
『It was only a few weeks ago I was debating the purchase of this series right here in the review section of amazon.com.

5 stars? Well that's a good sign. I heard of this anime after watching and purchasing Sola, (A MUST BUY), after discovering that one of the creative minds behind the Sola anime was involved in this series. Sola was voted anime of 2007, and many sites voted Kanon to be the anime of 2006.

With the drought of quality anime this day, I was desparate to find something good to follow up Sola, and the reviews here at Amazon.com were enough to convince me to take the plunge.

I have to admit, after reading the plot under various product description sources, it didn't sound as if there could be very much depth to the series, but everyone gushed over it, so I gave it a shot.

I must say that despite my early concerns and pessimism, this series truly lives up to the hype. It does start off a bit slow, but as the series continues, things progress to a whole other level. And another, and another... Truly worth of the series title 'Kanon'.

The storytelling and pacing are truly amazing. There are so many subtleties that I overlooked initially, that all stood out as events unfolded.

Probably my new favorite anime. The characters, the atmosphere, the story, the setting, the emotional roller coaster.... Everything..

The one NEGATIVE about this series will be trying to find something to top it.』

(Haunting)
『I've had to watch this series several times, each time you pick up more clues that are all through this series. And as my title says it is a haunting series thats my best desription of it and very well done. 5 stars all the way!!!』

(Longer is better!)
『Wat can i say This is a much improvement over the last season with the story more concentrated on charcter development which gave off a good smooth feel for ea charcter. The english voice acteresses r kind of a let down when sum voice sound to old for the person in general. Nayuki is the biggest person with this problem. But every1s Favorite catch phrases r still there Uguu....But just witnessing the characters grow b4 ur eyes is wat this series so good. Both men and women should consider picking this up.』

(Masterful)
『I'm currently viewing this series for the second time. The first time I watched it, I rented it. Afterwards, I bought this edition of the series. If someone had tried to describe this series to me before I viewed it, I probably wouldn't have wanted to watch it. I have a great appreciation for Japanese animation and have watched a lot of it. I would certainly rank this with the very best. What initially piqued my curiosity was reading somewhere that this series was very popular in Japan. When I read that I decided I should check it out. I had no idea what it was about. After watching the episodes on the first disk, I still had no idea where the story could be going. In fact, the story seemed quite weak. But the character development, largely thanks to the superb Japanese voice-acting, was wonderful. The first third of the series is an introduction, an overture, in which we get to know something of the personalities of the various characters. In hindsight, it's also the time when the hook is being masterfully set. Following this, the first "minor" theme is developed and concluded, and then there's no going back. If you're intrigued by this vague description, I would recommend that you watch the series without any research beforehand, and with the Japanese language/English subtitle options chosen. Then, you'll experience for yourself the power of this amazing anime.』
『Can the future exist without a past? Yuichi hasn’t seen his cousin Nayuki in years. Now that he’s back, all knowledge of ever visiting has vanished. He tries to adjust to the vaguely familiar surroundings, but the gaps in his memory haunt him as time grows short. The pieces of the puzzle have appeared – an eerily silent beauty with blazingtresses, the mysterious girl with the winged backpack, and the sword-wielding demon slayer – but it’s up to Yuichi to discover how they fit together.

(My child loves it.)
『The series is pretty good and I enjoy as well as my daughter who I bought it for.』

(Started my love for anime)
『When I was a teenager in high school I wasn't a big anime fan. I used to joke that all the drawings looked the same and were drawn by the same guy. I used to joke, saying Japan would be in trouble when that guy died, cause they'd have no one to draw their cartoons. I now proudly admit I was wrong and too hasty in my judgment.

One night I was flipping channels and I caught an episode of Inuyasha. I watched it because there was nothing better on. The next day I watched the next episode, then the next, then the next and before I knew it I was hooked. Soon I started watching more and more anime. Now I love anime and will gladly take Japanese animation over live action Hollywood any day. What I like about Inuyasha (and anime in general) is that the Japanese have learned that animation is for anyone, unlike here where mainstream society still looks at animation as something meant for kids. It seems only sitcoms have been accepted as adult animation (The Simpsons, Family Guy, ect.) but animation, like live action can encompass any genre, which Inuyasha does beautifully. It's a wonderful mix of fantasy, drama, comedy, action and romance without being re-edited to suit the 6 to 12 year old audience that most of these shows go through when their "Americanized". In this show, when characters get hurt they're hurt and sometimes bleed. When a character dies, they die instead of being banished to the realm of total losers or something dumb like that because (it's a cartoon for kids so we dare not mention death). More importantly, Inuyasha has well developed characters, not villains that want to take over the world because they're the bad guys, thats what they do; or characters who are in love being toned down to platonic friendships because (it's a cartoon for kids so we dare not show love).

Inuyasha opened my eyes to the world of anime and manga. After I started watching the show, I bought the mangas. Now I'm hooked and I'd gladly recommend this title to anyone who loves good drama, rich characters and a compelling story. I'm glad I bought these in the states (I live in Canada and ordered them from here because I bought both seasons 1&2 for $112 [after taxes, shipping and duty] which is still cheaper than it would have been to buy it up here [most retailers, even Amazon.ca, wanted about $70 to $120 for just one season] and that was before tax).』

(Inuyasha is a classic Anime!)
『I for one don't like a lot of anime; but only have a select few favorites... one being Inuyasha. That is because I like Inuyasha for it's unique story and great cast of characters; not to mention the style and genre the anime fits into my personallity!

I mean they don't call this show a fuedal fairy tale for nothing you know! That's why I love it so much; it has lots of sword swinging action in fuedal Japan, romance between the 3 key characters Inuyasha, Kikyo,&Kagome, and a bunch of LOL comedy with the other characters!

Season 1 of Inuyasha is one of my favorite seasons because it's the season that started it all! My especially favorite episodes are of when we first meet Seesshomaru looking for Inuyasha's sword, Shippo and the Thunder Bros always makes me LOL big time, Kikyo being resurected, Miroku joins the group, and many others when we first meet Naraku&Sango!

Plus I think it's just great to have the entire Inuyasha Seasons on DVD; since you don't have to worry about having them recorded on your old VHS tapes! That is because I'm a collector;&I love having DVD's of all of my favorite shows&movies!』

(Inuyasha is AMAZING!)
『Inuyasha is a great series! In fact, it was the first anime i really got into. Inuyasha is about a girl named kagome Higurashi, an average ninth grader that gets pulled into an ancient well in their shrine by a demon. When she gets herself out of the well, bringing her 500 years into the past to the fuedal era, she finds a boy pinned to a tree by a sacred arrow. (Inuyasha)
『I have been a fan of Inuyasha for a while. I was reading the manga before it's premier on Adult Swim.
If you like the show and hate the way Adult Swim has been moving it around (and eventually removing it) then this is probably the box set to get. No longer are there only three epps a DVD but you get 5 and a few of the standard extras.
With it dropping in price to around 45(ish) there is no reason not to own this show.』

『Kagome Higurashi, an average ninth grader, gets pulled into an ancient well by a demon, bringing her 500 years in the past to the feudal era. 『Based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi, the creator ofRanma 1/2andUrusei Yatsura, theInu-YashaTV series (2000) blends elements of Japanese folklore and familiar anime devices into a deftly imaginative blend of humor and adventure, an extremely entertaining series that never falls into cliché. Beginning the first season's 27 episodes, Kagome Higurashi, a normal 15-year-old girl, falls down a dry well--and finds herself in the feudal past, 50 years after her ancestress Kikyo imprisoned the half-human/half-demon Inu-Yasha. As the reincarnation of Kikyo, Kagome possesses a magic jewel that greatly increases the power of demons. Kagome fetters Inu-Yasha with the help of her priestess-ancestor Kaede, and when the jewel is shattered Kagome and Inu-Yasha must ally to recapture the fragments.

The series really begins to hit its stride when Kagome and Inu-Yasha, while bickering, nevertheless prove an effective team against the demons they encounter in the Warring States netherworld. Two new characters create complications. Shippo, an orphan fox spirit, meets Kagome and Inu-Yasha in the Warring States period. A more conventional but potentially more dangerous addition is Hojo, a handsome upper classman at Kagome's school, who's concerned about her recent absences. His understated good manners contrast sharply with the prickly Inu-Yasha--just as Kagome is beginning to recognize his good points.

In the multi-part adventure that begins with "Kikyo's Stolen Ashes," the filmmakers presenting conflicting versions of the relationship between Kikyo and Inu-Yasha, and the intriguing plot twists typify Takahashi's sophisticated story-telling. The tone darkens as the back story emerges: 50 years earlier, Kikyo tended Onigumo, a badly burned thief. As his desire for the Sacred Jewel--and Kikyo--grew, Onigumo summoned a horde of demons, whom he allowed to consume his flesh and soul. The evil creatures fused to form the terrible Naraku. Recognizing his feelings for Kagome, Inu-Yasha tries to protect her from Naraku by sending her back to her own time and blocking the passage between the ages. Inu-Yasha, Kagome, Shippo, and Miroku face a bizarre array of monsters and villains, including a forest demon who vomits hordes of monstrous, three-eyed wolves.

As the tapestry grows richer, Kagome and Myoga begin to explore the origins and nature of the Sacred Jewel that radiates power yet brings misfortune to everyone who approaches it. The source of the jewel turns out to be the demon-slayers' village. Inu-Yasha, Kagome, and their friends learn how the Jewel was created long ago in a battle between hordes of monstrous demons and Midoriko, the greatest priestess of the age. But the Jewel is also a miniature battleground between good and evil: a metaphor for the world--and for Inu-Yasha's heart, as he vacillates between selfishness and kindness. (Part 1...So you will be left wanting more! Part 2-Oct 20th)
『Like I said...this is "Part 1"... Part two is coming Oct 20th.. ^_^ So when it comes to ending...do not expect one because this is a 50 episode series.
So many people are better at reviewing than I am because I am not going to tell you the whole story in a review...I hate that. Which would explain why I am ranked like 5,608,144th as reviewers go..^_^
Saya is the only sword wielding Vampire alive that is capable of killing these Chiropterans<-spelling? Her blood is poison to them. To start with Saya seems to be a normal teenager except that one year prior to when this story takes off...she has no memory of who she is or what she is for that fact. Suddenly Says is attacked and she has no idea why is this thing after her (enter Haji). Saya begins to remember bits of her past and keeps asking her servant (Haji) to tell her everything but he just tells her that she must remember on her own..or it is not his place, which adds to the mystery. Being a normal teenager with two brothers and a father it is hard for her to accept that she is such a vicious killer. As Saya tries to piece together her past the journey takes her to numerous places. Vietnam, Russia, France and everywhere Saya goes there is trouble due to the fact there are those who just wish to kill her. There are others (the Schiff) who believe Saya's blood will be the cure to their curse, which means they are trying to kill her as well. Then there is another in the enemy's ranks who belives Saya can be brought into there line of thinking. In other words there are several players in this story and it is not limited to just kill..kill...kill.
Saya is afraid to fight...afraid to run yet she does not want the people around her to die.....what to do?
Yes there plenty of gore and although the amount of blood coming out can be a bit over the top it does not lessen the story. If you are looking for an interesting story that provides numerous enjoyable chracters then you should like this.
I liked this a lot and even though it left me hanging...I have seen it 3 times and not because I did not get it the first time but because I am a single guy that has no life...hehehe. So in my feeble mind it has good replay value because the story is rather in depth.
These are not stand alone episodes so it plays well from start to finish.
I can not tell if you will like it but I can tell you the type of series that I like..Trinity Blood..Black Blood Brothers..Death Note..Hellsing..Last Exile. If you liked those then you might find this worth watching.
I just wish it was not in Full Screen but the thinpaks are awesome. Just once you take out the T-Shirt that comes with it there is so much room in the case you have to put something else in its place or your disc's will move about.
When it comes to the audio...the background music blends seemlessly with what you are watching. Also every disc defalts to the Japanese language with English subtitles.』

(Amazing Anime *Only First Season in this Set!*)
『I'm rating the anime as a whole a 5/5. However, this box-set only includes the first season which hardly concludes the central plot of Blood+.

The storyline was fresh, I fell in love with the characters and especially the main character, Saya. I highly suggest this!』

(Blood minus)
『The fact that it's a great story saves it from a one star rating. Inferior (to the Japanese) voicing and dub titles instead of subtitles detract from this excellent series. I've seen a subtitled version, and it makes Sony's choice of dubtitles rather than a more accurate subtitle translation greatly disappointing.』

(Not Only Great Anime, But A Great Story)
『*Warning-This Review Contains Spoilers*
Blood+ avoids the problems many anime series have by having a plot that is intriguing and characters that develop through the series and who you genuinely care about. It also actually has a good ending! If you watch a lot of anime, you know how many series do not have satisfying endings. The characters in Blood+ do not seem like the hundredth version of a stock character from other series; they're unique and complex. The animation is beautiful and so is the music composed by Hans Zimmer. There are also 4 opening and 4 closing theme songs for this series and they're all great; I think you only get to number 2 in this set. This show was always shown with a graphic violence warning on Adult Swim, and when there are battles, they are pretty bloody but not gratuitous. Occasionally, the plot did slow up a little too much for me just when it seemed like something really big was going to happen between Saya and Diva, but I only minded because I was so into the story. The most special thing about this show to me was the relationship between Saya and her adopted family and between her and Hagi. This is one of the most moving anime series I've ever seen. Saya goes through some of the hardest things that happen in real life, like losing a parent and sibling and feeling great remorse for something terrible that you've done in the past, then struggling with guilt and indecision. The way these events were depicted was sometimes heartbreaking. These were real things that I could relate to and lift Blood+ far above a lot of other anime.

About the set itself: I prefer dub to sub, but because I love this series so much, I did want to watch it in Japanese with an accurate translation, so was disappointed like other reviewers in the "dubtitles." I also didn't like that you can't get the subtitles OFF of the theme songs. I find them irritating as they obstruct the animation, which is why I prefer dubbing in the first place. I usually switch the subtitles to Korean because it blends in better. The box comes with a T-shirt and a manga sampler; if you remove these, as I would like to, it makes the box too big for the DVDs and they rattle around. The bonus disc of interviews with the Japanese voice cast was more interesting than I usually find these features to be.』

(Ug, Overrated)
『Beautiful to look at, pleasant to listen to and a chore to get through this is one of the more overrated action series to see its release on this side of the Pacific. Action fans are going to find more enough battles within this set to fill their quotas but fans who are seeking a story that has a bit more substance or emotional impact will find their patience long gone before they find their fix.

『Based on the featureBlood: The Last Vampire(2000),Blood+(2005) combines elements of the magical girl, vampire and biomedical experiments out-of-control genres. In the original film, Saya, the last true vampire, battled the bloodthirsty demons attacking an American base in Japan during the Vietnam War. This Saya has lived for more than 100 years, but remembers little of her past. The magical guardian Hagi appears and presents Saya with a special sword: she must cut herself and allow her blood to flow into channels in its blade. Only her blood can destroy the artificially created monsters known as Chiropterans. The sinister conglomerate Cinq Fleches who created the Chiropterans is pitted against the secret society the Red Shield, whose members include Hagi and Saya. Blood flows freely during the ensuing battles, escapes, and flashbacks, as Saya whines, fusses, and cowers while her friends get stomped. The filmmakers arbitrarily change the rules of the story as it stumbles along. The characters repeatedly say thatonly Sayacan kill a Chiropteran, but near the end of the first season, the hooded figures called the Schiff appear, who hack Chiropterans to pieces with their swords. As Saya is a vampire, she needs blood to stay alive, but she never bites anybody and spent years in a human family without seeking blood (or having problems with silver and garlic). A sixth disc is devoted entirely to interviews with the filmmakers.
