(Pleasing taste) 『My husband and I were surprised to find that coffee made with the french press doesn't have the bitterness that is usual with perked coffee. Usually we don't grind our beans for perked coffee, so I don't know if that is the reason. I found using 2 or 3 tbsp of course ground coffee for every 4 ounces of brewed coffee works pretty well.
Use hot water just off the boil; if the water is boiling, I add a splash of cold water before pouring it in. The glass may break if you add straight boiling water.
The recommended 4-minute steep time is ideal.
The glass is fragile, so use a plastic spoon or wood stick to stir the grounds while it's steeping. Chopsticks or popsicle sticks work great! Stir it a little 'til you see a nice light brown bloom before you let it steep.

(Excellent Coffee) 『No doubt, when you use a coffee press, you can have very strong, flavorful coffee without the bitterness. This is a very nice product. If you enjoy an oversized cup of coffee, this will make 2 cups. But, if you leave the coffee sit after pouring your first cup, it will slowly become bitter. This hasn't been a problem for me as I usually only have one 12-16 oz cup in the morning anyway. I'd definately recommend this coffee press. Easy clean, easy use.』

I purchased this breadmaker a month ago and have had a great experience with it. While researching this product, I read that it does an excellent job of kneading and I can definitely confirm that this is a strength of the product. The dough is absolutely beautiful. I was new to making bread with the breadmaker, so I took a few extra minutes with each loaf to watch the consistency of the dough. This gives you the chance to make slight adjustments necessary to ensure the loaf turns out perfectly. If the loaves are not turning out as you expected, I suspect it is because the dough is either too dry or too wet. Getting the dough consistency right will make sure you get perfect loaves every time. In addition to all the glowing comments, there were some concerns raised by others that they were having difficulty making bread that didn't fall during the bake cycle. I also struggled with that as well. I finally took the advice of the breadmaking community and reduced both water and yeast, which was the secret to avoiding this problem. Now, for one final suggestion. Buy one of the many highly recommended breadmaker cookbooks out there. I have had great luck with Donna Rathmell German's, The Bread Machine Cookbook. There are many others to choose from as well and they are typically quite inexpensive and definitely worth the money. The only complaint I have is that the lining in the inner pan will tend to flake after A LOT of use. I replaced the paddle once because of flaking. It works just fine, but the shape makes it hard to grip when you're using a potholder, I think it could be a little bigger, and it's pretty smooth and slippery. I did not have any problems with screw length, but my lid may be thicker than the lid of the pot this handle is designed for.』

It was a simple swap that took nothing more than a minute and a basic flat-head screwdriver. It will serve its' purpose well, now making the *whole* pot oven-safe to the temps that the manufacturer claims (which aren't possible with the phenolic/plastic knob that it comes with). Cutting the top off of a soda bottle will work fine, and the spout even fits in most standard cooking oil containers. Well, if Norpro had made the strainer finer, I'm certain we'd see people complaining that the strainer was too fine! This is a well-made funnel; I've had mine for years. Unlike plastic funnels, which never really feel clean after dealing with grease and oil, this one cruises through the dishwasher w/o problems. I have used the strainer for oil, but it is on the coarse side. However, I find this funnel works great with a Melitta #2 coffee filter, which I use for my small coffeemaker. I don't like using cheesecloth as it's a hassle. I'd suggest going to a coffee filter as an alternative. (Corelle FTW) 『I ordered these dishes after four years of using Mikasa dishes. 75% of my Mikasa dishes had chipped within the first year, and replacements were very expensive. For less than $30 dollars, I replaced my old dishes with attractive chip and break-resistant corelle. The design, as others have noted, is made up of mocha brown, beige, and celery colored squares. The mugs are stoneware, which chips more easily than corelle, but also holds heat better than corelle. In the set are four pieces of four products: a small bowl, a small plate, a large plate, and mugs. The bowl has only mocha brown squares, but they still go well with the other pieces.
I used the super-saver shipping, ordered my dishes on a Sunday, and received them on Tuesday morning. They came packed carefully in a series of three boxes, and were not warped or broken. Before ordering, I looked at Wal-mart and Target for the same set of dishes in case they were cheaper elsewhere, but they did not have them in the store in my town and online they were more expensive (with shipping). Also Wal-mart shipping is ridiculously slow. I would suggest buying them here if you can't get them in your local superstore, as the shipping (even the free shipping) is really quick, and the price is similar.
So far, I really enjoy the dishes and am looking forward to buying another set so that I have service for eight.』
(Loved the modern pattern! Classic Corelle Quality!) 『What can I say it is Corelle dishes. These are the best dishes ever made. They don't chip. Kids can drop them and they never break. They are lightweight and take up virtually no room in the cupboard. The pattern is very modern and is great for either a single guy, a single girl or a family. Nothing overly feminine/masculine with this pattern. The pattern is simple enough it would fit into almost all kitchens without looking out of place. The mugs are a nice size and bigger than the set I had purchased years ago. I think they finally realized people like a big cup of a coffee not taking shots out of a little mug. I should mention the mugs are stoneware so they keep liquids either hot/cold easier than the corelle material the dishes are made out of. Besides making all the usual items like fried chicken, chili and soups, I recently used this to steam frozen tamales. I placed a a few canning jar rings in the bottom of the pan, and rested a Lodge cast iron trivet on top of the rings. I placed water in the pan at a level below the trivet, and then placed the tamales on the the trivet. The cast iron in the pan and the trivet maintained a constant heat, creating perfect steam for perfectly steamed tamamles.』

(Good cast iron for a good price) 『If you don't have any cast iron you definitely want to get one, and a dutch oven can substitute for a skillet just fine. It's a little on the small size such that if you cut up a whole chicken you'll have some trouble getting all the pieces to fit, so perhaps invest in a cast iron skillet if you find yourself needing more room. I also recommend that you do not trust the pre-seasoning on this or any other cast iron product and season them yourself. Clean with a cloth in warm soapy water (and then never do this again until you re-season it in a year) and rinse. Coat the pan and lid thoroughly (use your hands to ensure a good even spread) in shortening preferably or canola/peanut oil. Place it upside down in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes, then remove it and pour out the excess oil, then back in it goes for another 2 hours. If your cast iron is a nice deep black and slippery to the touch it's properly seasoned. Repeat every year or so.

(Does the trick, but where to put it?) 『This little wine vacuum pump serves its intended purpose wonderfully, removing most of the air from a bottle of wine easily and effectively and delaying the infiltration of flavor-killing aerobic bacteria. In these hot summer months, it easily prolongs the usable life of a bottle of Cabernet stored at room temperature to a week or more after opening, instead of the 3-5 days that you'll get without using a pump between uses. Note, you can get even longer life out of the wine by storing it in a cooler environment after pumping. The box even has the word "Click" written on it in large letters so you know that when the pump makes a clicking sound, you're done.
My only hesitation in recommending this kit is that it does not come with any means of storage of the five items in the set. The wonderful Vinturi Essential Wine Aerator is equally useful, but it comes with both a stand to rest the aerator on between pours as well as a cloth sack to store it in when not used for extended periods. This stainless steel wine saver "gift set" would benefit greatly from a small case or display stand on which the unit itself, the two pourers and the two stoppers could be stored when not in use.
