Initially everyone loved the product with all the handy dandy attahments, but with only 1 speed-HIGH-these units are no longer useable. I trust Consumer Reports for most of my purchases and this unit was highly rated, but obviously they do not use the product for many years to determine its longevity! I have only used this mixer once - and have not used the various attachments. I thought the mixer was comfortable to hold and did a good job. Compared to my old mixer, the mixers themselves were very lightweight. I don't know how durable they will be as time goes by. Thought it was pricey. Only time will tell if this mixer was worth the price of $44. The mixer is great, it does perform many different tasks. However, this isn't the first one I've purchased. After some use, it stops working except for 1 speed. I had a mixer like this years ago and loved it. This one has lots of power and I use it all the time. A great product. I'm not one to write reviews, but this product deserves kudos from me. I know that packaging text will indicate that this mixer is not suitable for institutional use, but we use this model exclusively in our bakery for small mixing jobs not suitable for our 12qt mixer. We have tried all of the higher priced *******-Aid and O*str products but they failed in less than a year's worth of use. The secret is the direct drive motor assembly. No plastic gears to strip or metal gears to fail. These units would last almost indefinetly if it were not for the failure of the speed switch. It will reach a point where all you have is high speed and pulse and we have used them in this condition until the switch fails completely, but the motor never, ever fails. Plenty of torque for the thickest, heaviest batter. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the issue with the switch, which may be due in part to our extensive use. With a host of useful attachments, this slender wand takes the place of bulkier appliances. Its mobility allows you to go to the stove to blend a soup or whip potatoes, as needed. Chop onions in the food processing cup, or beat egg whites for a soufflE. Equipped with an exceptionally powerful 280-watt motor, this versatile appliance is a combination hand mixer and hand blender. I wanted to teach a 9 yr old to cook and felt this skillet would be safer than my gas stove. I have found it to be a great product and I use it more myself, than I ever expected ! Great product, Great price. I was very happy with the service and the people I sent the fry pan to were surprised to get my gift and used it right away and were pleased with it! The Presto electric skillet is perfect for preparing large quantities of food. It cooks evenly and is a breeze to clean. I love the glass cover so I can see the food cooking. I highly recommend this appliance! I used such skillet five times since a purchase. A meat or a fish did not stick to the bottom, neither protective layer has been peeling off. The screws that attach "legs" may get loose but this is not my concern. I admit I want to return this ... when simmering, it only "bubbles" where the heating element is around the edges so I don't believe it gets hot enough. However, I got rid of the box it came in before I used it, so I may be stuck with it. This spacious skillet doesn't need a stovetop to cook up delicious dishes. It's electric, so all you have to do is add ingredients and watch it roast, fry, grill, stew, bake and more right on your countertop. Just like I remember my grandma using. They came already seasoned, no need to do it yourself and they are SO quick to clean up. Nothing sticks, everything cooks so evenly that Im cleaning out all of my old nonstick pans, which cost me ten times more than these. I couldn't wait to get my griddle in the mail and boy does it make great pancakes! French toast too, as well as eggs, sandwiches, anything that doesn't require high sides. I will continue adding Lodge pans to my collection! If you have a 20" propane gas range and are tired of dipping into a skillet to try and flip toasted cheese sandwiches, then this is for you. Easy to clean and store plus if you have a Lodge medium Dutch Oven, the top will fit over the griddle's lip for a snug fit. I bought this pan a while ago,and must say,it's great! the Diameter is perfect for pancakes,and they wont stick! Eggs,bacon,everything fries great in this pan,already seasoned is awsome also.Plus you don't have the chemicals,like in those no stick pans.These cast iron pans will last a lifetime! Cast iron pans are the best kitchen pans ever invented! I use this griddle and make hash browns from scratch in less than 3 minutes with a medium high heat, crisp on one side (I cover the pan once the grated potato is set in). If I wish for crisp on both sides, then flip the rash and leave it uncovered for another minute. To complete the meal, I make over easy eggs perfect to the point WITHOUT turning the eggs, and they take literally no more than a couple minutes once the pan is on medium heat (I have an electric burner stove). The trick to the eggs is, the pan must be already medium hot, add a bit of oil, crack the eggs on the hot pan, immediately the bottom of the eggs turns white, but the top is still uncooked, now lower the heat to medium or md/low. Next, drizzle one teaspoon of water (more or less water will depend on how hot the pan is) and cover it for about 30 secs. Uncover the pan, and the top of the eggs have been cooked in very hot steam where the centers are still soft/raw. The eggs slide onto a flat metal spatula like butter. Voala, over easy eggs and hash browns in about 10 minutes on the table (this includes heating the pan but does not include the time to peel the potatoes.) I have 3 of these, LOVE this griddle. I have sent several for gifts. I can't say enough, size is perfect. I use it for making grill cheese a fast warm up tortilla with butter yum my sister warms a tortilla put jam on it says it wonderful. Great quality, great pan, Love Lodge products. Just don't leave it to soak in water they do rust with proper care you will love this griddle. What a great little sharpener! I can't believe how dull my knives had become over time with our old sharpener (amazing what you can gradually become used to). This sharpener makes slicing and chopping a breeze again. It's very easy to use and takes up little space in the kitchen. I thought I'd have to buy a big expensive sharpener or take my knives in to a professional to get sharp edges like this again. What a delightfully effective and economical surprise. Wusthof Two Stage knife sharpener arrived promptly and well packaged when ordered through Amazon. Our old electric sharpener was inconvenient and the knife blade guides shifted so it no longer kept the correct bevel on the blade edge. The Wusthof is easy to store and use. The first stage got a good bevel on a variety of knives ranging from stainless steel Henckels to carbon steel blades. The second stage used once a day keeps the blades nicely honed. Once again the knives are a pleasure to use for all the usual kitchen tasks of peeling, slicing and trimming. Thomas Davis If you're not skilled with a knife steel, this is the next best thing. It's easy, it works and best of all the price is right! you wanna be a hotshot, get a whetstone and go to culinary academy. BUT, if you want a simple, durable, inexpensive, very effective knife sharpener, bingo! i advise against some 20 lb., overly complex, electric thigamajig. REMEMBER...with many sharpeners, manual, electric, whatever, including this one, they have a coarse slot and a fine slot. use coarse only when your knives are REALLY dull; it removes a lot of metal and restores the edge, but overuse will result in your hatori santuko or sabatier becoming an icepick. use the fine slot mostly. and sharpening steels look and sound cool, but they don't sharpen...they remove tiny imperfections and burrs as a final step. love this product. I love this knife sharpener. It works well and is easy to use. And I don't feel unsafe using it. It works great on knives and scissors. (best peeler i've ever used) (Works Even Better than My Original OXO Peeler) I bought this peeler based on the Cook's Ill. recommendation. It works very well, but it took me a while to get used to its weight. I do like the big handle, which fits my hands well. While I usually like utensils with good heft and a solid feel, it feels odd in a peeler. I was just running my order total up to get free shipping, but, strangly enough, it works better than expected. It is noticeably better than the old style I have used for years. I recommend it. My wife is very selective when it comes to kitchen tools. She declared this one "great." In our house for a kitchen tool to be declared great it must work perfectly, be easy to wash, and most important come with directions that must never, under any circumstances, be read for any reason. Therefore this tool is "great." I like the idea of the replaceable blades but wonder if we'd just order a new one peeler should the blade become dull. this is without a doubt the best peeler i've ever used. my husband likes it so much, he had me order another one as a gift for a friend(who had a crappy peeler). it is almost effortless to use, very sharp, and the little rounded tip on the end is very efficient and easy to use for removing bad spots. it comes w/a protective cover on the blade, which we replace after using. i bought the extra blade, but have no idea when the original will have to be replaced. i highly recommend this peeler, especially if you have bought cheap "grocery store" peelers in the past; you'll notice a world of difference with this one! I have a 10-yr old OXO peeler that is still sharp but looking ratty - the white handle has gotten very stained. After checking several typical kitchen stores locally I couldn't find the same OXO model and was so glad to find this on Amazon. The racks adjust and no rust except for the exterior of the unit. The convection feature makes a nearly perfect loaf of bread. You can bake a 9" pie. If you read the instructions and follow them it's a real winner. Nothing bad to say about it yet. It warms, toast, and cooks my food. Easy to use, and looks good in my kitchen. We use our toaster oven pert near 90% over the regular oven. It is so convenient, fast, and keeps the whole house from heating up. Our old one was a cheap toastmaster with the dumbest controls I have ever seen on an appliance, but it worked good. The convection fan gave out a month or so ago and then the bottom heaty thingers stoped working and it was done. Soggy totinos pizza is not very good. We decided to not mess around when finding a replacement. First stop was target and BB&B websites. Found a few that could of worked, but after reading reviews we kept looking. My wife headed to BB&B for some stuff and took pics of each toaster oven and their info cards. I started doing more research online of the ones she found. We had 3 things that were absolutely necessary. 1. broil function. To make the best garlic bread I find this necessary. I have a system and it works well. Also often you just want to get a bit of extra browing on something and broil is where it is at. 2. convection / fan bake. It really makes a difference and we loved that feature on the dead one. 3. good reviews. Yeah I know it is not actually a feature, but I want to hear normal folk lay it out there. Amazon you made up my mind. I did some extensive testing using probe thermometers and found it to have a really good accuracy. It fluctuates by 25 degrees, which is noted in the manual, but stayed close to the set temp most of the time. There is a probe built into the inside top wall that monitors the temp. This has actually thrown off my usual methods because it does not fluctuate wildly like the old one. I burned a pizza and have had to learn how to do my garlic bread all over again. The peppercorn steaks took much longer because the oven was actually at 250 and not something higher. We never really toasted bread in the old one because it would take too long. This thing heats up so fast and makes toast in 2.5 minutes and it comes out perfect. It is quite a well built little thing. It is light and does feel a little flimsy on the sides and back because of the metal and plastic. the crumb tray is pretty lame which was a bummer. It slides out the back and is pretty thin metal. The broiling pan and its bottom are made of very rigid metal. It is very well made. it does heat up on the outsides quite a bit, but nothing to worry about. The touch pad is easily to use and wipe down. We very much likey and think the price is fair for such a quality piece of kitchen equip that we will use the heck out of. I purchased this Toaster Oven because I live alone and did not like the idea of turning on the large oven just for pizza, toast, or frozen biscuits. This oven is small enough that it fits very conveniently on my counter, but is big enough to comfortably hold a 12 in pizza. Even better, if I start it when I take the pizza out of the freezer, it is completely preheated by the time I can put some extra cheese and pepperoni on it. The buttons and digital readouts are easy to use and offer good precision for temperature setting. I haven't been able to find a way to make the timer turn off the oven and that is a minus. It does allow you to chain together button commands for complex cooking programs. This seems overly complicated to me, but I'm just a heat and eat kind of guy. Other folks may find them useful. Overall it exceeded my expectations, and at the price they were already pretty high. The TOB-195 is again proof that quality is worth the extra price I have had this product for over a month. It has replaced my regular oven for all small items. PROS - The push-button controls and digital read-out make this oven easy to use and informative. I have not tried the convection feature yet. Cleaning is very easy with the slide out tray. The quality seems very good. You can feel the oven door close tight. CONS - None yet. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product.
