The original packing from Old Stone Oven (made in USA) was a well fitted box inside another box filled with packing popcorn. This packing was tight and secure. This set of boxes was then placed inside a HUGE box by Amazon and filled with brown paper. The outer Amazon box was sealed with only one strip of clear tape down the middle seam and this was busted open due to the weight of the box. Amazon should have secured this outer box with more than one strip of tape. Also, the outer box likely didn't need to be so large and a more appropriate sized box would have made the shipment even more secure. The important point of shipping came from the manufacturer rather than Amazon. Amazon's added packaging simply ensured one more layer of protection which would have been better with more tape.

(Solid performer for over 10 years!) 『I have had this stone for a long time. It went through a period of time with very little use, because I did not know how to use a pizza stone. PREHEAT, PREHEAT, PREHEAT! All pizza stones should be well preheated before use. I mean 20-30 minutes once the oven is hot. I use and IR thermometer to tell when mine is hot and I regularly get this stone to over 500 F. I make all my pizza dough from scratch and I never, ever use corn meal under my pizza and the pizza never sticks. If you can slide your pizza off a peel (or cardboard), then it should not stick to a properly heated stone. If you dough rips and hot cheese melts onto the stone, yes, that will stick.
This stone accumulates stains, but so what. I use a bench scraper to remove burnt on cheese and sauce. Mine is almost black, but it performs as well as it has for years. I have probably owned 3 other pizza stones before this one and most of those easily broke. I also own a different brand stone that fits on my Big Green Egg grill and can handle being placed over an open fire. I probably would not try that with this brand of stone, unless the manufacture states that as a use.
It seems to me from reading reviews here that the negative reviews are about Amazon shipping this thing like a book, and not like a piece of pottery.』

This little "gadget" works for ME...can I give it MORE then 5 stars?! Let's be real...this makes HOT CHOCOLATE! It's not a "multi-tasker"...it does ONE THING ONLY...but IF you LUV that one thing and drink it on a regular basis this is THE little "gadget" to have. Did I say it makes only one thing? Shame on me! Latte's anyone? Mexican coffee? ANY hot "whippy" beverage can be made using this machine. Clean up was not dreamy by any means but NOT HARD either. Hand wash and rinse....love the review where it says to turn on the Cocomotion to clean it....DUH? Why didn't I think of that? So...for my hubby and myself this is a keeper....we LOVE the drinking chocolate and I make my own but making hot chocolate is a no brainer anyway. By the way this DOES make it just the RIGHT temperature (IMHO) and makes ample froth. A nice mug and some whipped cream and ya got yourself a treat. ENJOY!』
(5 years and still kickin!) 『I've know had my coco-motion for either 4 or 5 years. (I can't recall definitively, but it's been a minimum of 4). I'm a bit of a hot cocoa fiend, so I drink it all the time once the weather starts to cool. I love that it mixes it and heats it at the same time. It heats it slightly hotter than I can drink, if I pour it immediately after it's done mixing, but that's really only a minor nitpick for me, as I usually make it as I'm getting ready for bed, and it cools for a few minutes anyway.
When I first got it, I was a little frustrated with the fact that you can't submerge it in water in order to clean it, however, I quickly figured out an easier way to clean it. Simply pour some water and a few drops of dish soap, and turn it on. Next, pour the water out in the sink, remove the spinner blade, and it easily wipes clean with a sponge. Rinse, and it's clean.
I wouldn't (and haven't) hesitate to recommend this product!』

(Isn't There Anything Better??) 『I titled this review such because there HAS to be something better out there! Are we not living in the 21st Century? I read numerous reviews on the seemingly few bread slicers out there because I wanted a quality product at a good price that was easy to use and would help me slice my precious bread machine loaves consistently. What I ended up getting (and what you will get if you order it): A box containing a wooden board with crumb catcher and three plastic pieces with some screws for you to assemble the product. The wooden part of the product is great and the crumb catcher is great but the plastic pieces that screw on are a bit flimsy and do not stay on tight so when you cut the bread (like other reviewers mentioned, get a *long* bread knife) it wobbles a bit and does not always make it easy to get even slices. The plastic end piece on mine says "Our Daily Bread" which is a bit cheesy. The end piece will not stay put either because the sides are a bit wobbly. I disagree with some of the reviewers who think the board itself is too wide. It is a little wider than a bread machine loaf but I think that is a good thing as you wouldn't want a slightly misshapen loaf to not fit inside the slicer at all or worse, risk putting your fingers through a loaf by trying to cram it between the slicer guides.
Still trying to make an informed decision? It *may* help you slice a bit more evenly, but maybe not. I find that sometimes I get a more even slice if I manage to hold the plastic sides just right. Will it save you time? Maybe. It all depends on if the plastic sides will stay on tight.
Bottom line: either have your kid design and make you one in wood shop class (or make one yourself) or just buy a cutting board with a crumb catcher and wing it on the slicing. The third option is to buy this product and put up with it (I guess that's where I'm at since I like the crumb catcher and my patience hasn't ebbed quite enough).
My question is: Why hasn't someone invented a counter top electric slicer that is more or less a scaled down version of the industrial sized slicers you sometimes see at bakeries or in stores overseas? Maybe someone is afraid they will be sued if their child drops their hamster into it (or worse)? We do have Cuisinarts with rotating metal blades... On a very light cookie batter, I noticed my mixer was doing a lot of thumping around, something that has never happened before. I stopped it, and realized the top of the machine was hot to the touch. But the really scary part came when I lifted the head and tried to take the bowl off. It was completely stuck to the base, and I couldn't turn it at all. I recruited my big burley husband, and it took him several minutes to loosen it. By the time he got it off, the head was wobbly on the base. Thankfully it still locks down, but I have a feeling there is a repair in our near future.
So though this blade did do a lovely job of scraping the bowl down, it very nearly wrecked my mixer in the process. I should have known there was a reason why KitchenAid hasn't made a version of this blade themselves.』

(Best Beater) 『I bought this beater blade because it scrapes the side of the bowl instead of having to stop and do it myself. I found that it also mixes the batter faster. I would buy it again and have already bought two others to give as presents. I saved money by buying three at once.』
(Creates a Flourstorm; some ingredients stick to blades) 『Although the beater blade DOES scrape down the sides, it has a few shortcomings which makes it a lot less useful than it could be. 1. Dry ingredients have nowhere to go but out. If your bowl is anywhere more than 1/2 full, even if you start on slowest speed (Kitchenaid tilt head), a good deal of flour flies into the air and out of the bowl. I've wound up starting batters with the regular blade, then switching to a Beater Blade. Which is a pain.
2. Wet ingredients -- particularly fats like butter - seem to clump up on the blades themselves and don't get mixed. It seems almost like the plastic blades aren't "slick" enough. So after a few minutes mixing a batter and it all looks well blended, you take out the blade and its got unmixed stuff on it. So now I have to remember to stop in the middle of mixing to use a knife to scrape down the blades.
3. Overall construction looks cheap. Very lightweight plastic. (Best Little Chopper) 『This is my second little chopper from Black and Decker. The first one chopped away for years doing everything from coffee beans to onions to nuts without a murmur of complaint. It was only after donkey years that I noticed one day that poor thing had become a merry-go-round for food, and concluded that no matter how much the food was enjoying the ride, its time had come, to go. Even so I kept it in the top closet of the kitchen for awhile just out of respect. I got a large clunky "Food Processor" that required moving things to get to and a jet engine mechanic to clean. It stayed in the cupboards between major holidays. Then I saw this one again and said, "I have Amazon Prime and I'm getting this!" (any excuse in a storm.) It arrived, I started chopping and guess what? It is every bit as good and maybe better than the one I retired! I love this machine. It can be top shelf dishwasher cleaned-but I don't wash stuff like this in the dishwasher-especially blades-your bladed things will last much longer if done by hand, dried immediately and put away. I don't have any cons for this chopper-it is one of those things that does not need to be changed. The size is right, the blades are sharp the power is perfect and it really does the job. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.』
(Easy to use and clean, good for chopping nuts) 『I've owned this product for over 2 years now and have found the following to be true.
1. An excellent kitchen tool for chopping walnuts, almonds, pecans, etc..., as long as you don't plan on using it more than 10 times in a row, as the little motor can overheat. Just give it a small rest and you'll not have problems. I use it for my holiday baking (making many batches of cookies with chopped nuts in them...) without a problem. 2. Great chopping tool of onions - so 'no more tears' here! 3. The product works fast, so if you want a coarse chop, a couple pulses of the button should do it. 4. Very easy to put together and use. 5. Just as easy to disassemble and clean. 6. If the container is not seated properly in the locked position, the chopper will not work. The button will not depress, which means 'try it again'. 7. Sometimes items get stuck under the blades and do not get chopped up, so a readjustment of the contents of the container and another quick pulse or two of the machine is needed for complete chopping to occur.
An inexpensive kitchen tool I go back to again and again throughout the year. I like mine and recommend it to others.』

This works well, just have to get used to the newer (smaller push button) on it compared to larger buttom on older model. Does a great job on chopped nuts, even carrots and grains. I'm pleased with it. Takes up little space in my cabinets. Very rarely have a need for a large food processor. (I just love shootin' that salad!) 『I waited a long time to order the salad shooter because finances were tight and the time didn't seem right. Finally, I ordered it and now all my slicing and shredding dreams are coming true before my very eyes.
It used to take me forever to cut up veggies for soups, so I often didn't get around to it as much as I would have liked. With the salad shooter, I now pop in whole onions, potatoes, carrots, parsnip, celery, squash, cabbage, and whatever else I can think of, and just shoot it right into my slow cooker. I top it with chicken or beef, herbs and other seasonings and just walk away for several hours. Before you know it, I have beautiful soup to eat and share with my friends. (I'm becoming very popular these days since I got my salad shooter, I kid you not.)
I hate slicing onions and now I no longer have to. The only two complaints I have about this product is that it only slices and shreds, but doesn't chop foods. However, if you don't mind things in a sliced shape, then this probably won't affect you. The other thing is that I wish it could slice a little bit thicker slices. The directions indicate that it takes practice and that each time you use it will be easier. This is true and my results continue to be better each time.
