That's good in my book. It lifts up a little higher than other toasters to make taking it out easier... my the evolution of toasters. Shipping took a little longer than I would've liked, but really if you can wait a couple days, it may well be worth it. For a while now, I've been looking for a replacement for my simple 10 yr. old 2 sliced toaster since it's become inconsistent. I finally settled on this unit after looking at units from $10 to $130 based on functions and price. The Cuisinart toasts standard store bought bread perfectly on a setting of "3" and bagels come out perfectly when selecting the "bagel" button. The toast setting is lighted which took some getting used to but is a welcome addition now that I've owned it for a while. After searching for a U.S.-made toaster at a reasonable price (there don't seem to be any at ANY price), I scoured the reviews of various makes. This one had the best ratings of any, so I purchased it. So far (about a month into using it), it has performed as I would expect a simple device to work: it does its job. The only thing that bothers me is that the toaster is rather light-weight, and pressing on the "cancel" button sometimes requires using enough force to necessitate placing the other hand behind the toaster to keep it from slipping. Good price but old fashioned toasters work better. Bread toasts uneven .. top part of toast is mushy like its micro waved...need to turn over and put in twice...gosh is it so hard to make something so simple as a toaster work right? I was in the market for a toaster and wanted a white one. I was going to get a cheapy but I got a gift certificate from Amazon for Mother's Day. So, I purchased the Cuisinart. I love this toaster. NOT AIR TIGHT!!!) (Excellent value but dribbles) (made in france, great product but...) This is a nice suntea jar. We gave up on the ones with the spigots because they always leak in the first summer of use. This was inexpensive, easy to pour from and fits very nicely in the fridge. We got two of them so we've always got tea brewing. The glass was a little thinner than I expected - I'd have liked a more solid feeling piece, but they've held up through the dishwasher and regular use for about a month so far. I looked a long time for the right jars that could go from outside to the fridge and take up little space. I'd love a 3 liter that was this thin but taller. When I first unpacked this jug, I was sure it was entirely plastic, but I guess it's a type of glass. It's very light for glass, doesn't refract light as much as glass usually does, and it has a dull sound when you tap it with a spoon, instead of a ring as glass usually has. Also, the side seams are very pronounced, like a cheap plastic jug. However, it does feel cool and smooth like glass... I'm very curious about the material. Maybe it's just a thinner glass than I'm used to. The lid is made of a thin, brittle plastic, and mine arrived with the lip already broken about a quarter of the way around. It fits extremely loosely to the point where you can rattle it. I ended up forming an aluminum foil skin over the lid to cover the gap, and I guess it will do for iced tea, but I'm far from impressed. On the upside, it does look very pretty full of iced tea, so I gave it 3 stars. With the big concern over plastics recently I decided to replace all mine with glass or stainless steel. I wanted to use these to mix up my instant teas and got a huge awakening when I went to shake it up and it went everywhere! At that time it also made me realize that these not only are messy but they wouldn't keep fridge flavors out since they are not airtight. So be warned up front and look for something better than these. Dribbles -- You should pour over a sink. Otherwise, a great value: Easy-to-grip handle, snap-on-lid that doesn't fall out and fits in refrigerator door shelf (I use it for making large batches of iced tea). these are great in the door liquid containers, they are made in france and are very useful. I bought these to complement my other Luminarc products. the only down side is the lids. my old ones have a more substantial lid. these are thin and feel flimsy by comparison. I love Senseo pods. My seller was excellent from packaging to mailing. 5 Star!! Ordered coffee pods. Price was right, but half way thru the order Amazon said they could not process my credit card. So I started over and it worked the second time. Of course, a double order showed up. I've been through most of the pods for the last two years, and finally found my favorite about six months ago. When the Sumatra arrived, I still had Medium, Dark, Brazilian, and Columbia on hand for comparison. As it turns out, I didn't really need to compare because the Sumatra stood on its own from the first cup and is exceptional. Sumatra is a dark, rich blend that finally fills my need for a stronger coffee with a pleasant character. It took a long time but I finally managed to finish off the other blends. Sumatra is all I order any more. All the products arrived on-time including a second box with a book item that I didnt order and was meant for a customer in Wisconsin. After emailing amazon they send me a link to go and print off a return label. It didnt work right away, but on the third try it did. I then had to take it to the Post Office and drop off. I just realized that I dont work for Amazon.com and that my services cant be deducted on my income tax under charitable contributions. So the recovered value of the book and my unpaid services go straight to the bottom profit line. This is by far the best blend. The flavored blends in my opinion are really weak and artifical tasting. (Handy) (Great idea, terrible execution) (PRODUCT EXCELLENT; AMAZON PROCESS LOUSY) (Can't do without it) We are replacing another single cup coffee maker with this one and were disappointed to find that the space to put the cup is much smaller than our previous maker. We have very few cups that fit into the opening. Otherwise, it works fine... I love the cup-at-a-time coffee maker. I am single and only want one cup in the morning so it works out great. Makes a good cup of coffee. A cup-at-a-time coffeemaker is a great idea, but this one was poorly designed and performed unacceptably. First of all, the water flows into the grounds so quickly that the compartment overflows. Second of all, because of the way it's made, when that happens the water with coffee grounds in it backs up into the water reservoir, which becomes filthy with coffee grounds. Third, because of the way it's made, it's not possible to open up the reservoir sufficiently to clean it out. So pretty quickly you've got some old coffee grounds stuck in the water reservoir, and your coffee starts tasting bad as a result. I ultimately gave up and got an electric kettle and a cone filter, that works much better. An excellent and inexpensive unit that does the job pronto! However, NEVER use Amazon's "One Click" ordering. I ordered ONE pot, received THREE, returned TWO and am having difficuly receiving the credits. This little drip coffeemaker is durable, inexpensive and absolutely perfect for anyone preferring a fresh cup of coffee each time. It arrives with a permanent filter but I prefer using # 2 paper cones, a personal choice. It's a little workhorse, easy to clean with no bells and whistles - no clock, timer, or Muzak; but for the low cost dependability it's a terrific buy. I do throw everything in my dishwasher,maybe thats the problem. But I then bought the CIA (need at least two racks) and wish I wouldn't have wasted my money on the Chicago Met. one. It has held up great, stands the dishwasher etc. As soon as I can bring myself to throw out the rusting one I will purchase another CIA. Exactly as described. Fits pan well. Cook's Magazine recommendation, I always find reliable. I bought two, and they fit just right in the half-sheet pans. They do not seem prone to warping. They take a little extra effort to clean, but a nylon brush and hot soapy water do the job. I purchased this cooling rack based on a review from CooksIllustrated.com. It is a perfect fit for my jelly roll pan. Made of chrome-plated steel, it is sturdy and cleans up wonderfully in the dishwasher. This cooling rack is a great choice. Purchased two 12x17 CIA cooling racks from Chef's Resource. They were received within a week of our order however, one rack had a defect. Contacted their customer service, who shipped a replacement. However When trying to shred cheese the processor was not strong enough to do it. I had one before,it was hard to clean and did not do as good of job. I love them in a cold drink, because the straw gets icey cold. Works well in smoothies, too. Haven't had any problems cleaning them, since I rinse them directly after use, and then toss in the dishwasher. My only regret is that I should have asked for two packs, just in case I have a party and need more than four! In that I use a straw with all cold drinks, when I saw these on Oprah I knew I had to have them. The Endurance Drink Straws are great and help me contribute in some small way to a greener world. These are the perfect length for using in travel mugs. I searched high&low to find a stainless-steel straw that would work in my stainless steel mug. The typical stainless-steel bombilla is too short&sometimes too wide to fit through the lid holes. This product is exactly what I was looking for! Love these straws! This is the second pack that I've purchased -- we wanted more than 4! This is the best idea for summer drinks or for that matter anytime. No more disposable straws for me...these will save you money in the long run and they seem to make the drink colder as you sip. Great product! We too have made our own coffee from beans for over ten years, and after using Gevalia Columbian for at least five years, have converted over to LavAzza crema e aroma with half and half creamer because it is so smooth. We boil water in an electric pot, then pour it over the ground beans sitting in a cup in a filter. The temp of the water is never more than just boiling, and often slightly below boiling. We carafe up the pot right away and drink it the whole day. It is wonderful coffee on the deck in the morning. Jackie My family thrives on its Lavazza intake. The Crema e Aroma beans are prepared in our Jura-Capresso S-9, which stays on most of the day. The flavor is smoother and more full than Illy, which we used before discovering these beans as a result of an Amazon review. The crema is thick, rich and holds up well to the high pressure of the Capresso. While some reviews prefer to use another Lavazza for latte or other milk based drinks, we find that a fine grind and the strong setting on the Capresso result in delicious lattes. We now take advantage of the subscription shipping to insure we never run out. If we get a little ahead in our supply, our daughter is thrilled to take an extra bag off our hands. I would give this product an unqualified 5-star rating except for one flaw we have only noticed recently. In each bag there appears to be up to a half a dozen green coffee beans. When accidentally ground with the beans even one of these contaminating little nasty things will ruin an entire pot of coffee or destroy a cup of cappuccino with their awful taste. As a result, I now sort through the beans before putting them in airtight storage for daily use. Aside from that one flaw, this is a fantastic product at a reasonable price, especially if you take the discounted subscription shipping. Had this coffee in Italy last summer and loved it. So glad I can get it here, so smooth and the crema is wonderfull. The coffee beans were not as dark roasted as expected, resulting in a rather weak cup of coffee. THIS IS A GREAT TASTING COFFEE, AND VERY AFFORDABLE. I LIKE THE CONVINIANCE OF SUBSCRIPTION SO THE COFFEE ARRIVE ON TIME AND I NEVER RUN OUT OF IT!
