『Love this machine! I wasn't sure which one to buy, but this one is perfect! It's very easy to set up and lets you choose between three different sizes. This works great whether I feel like a small cup or a bigger one. I've had this for a month now with absolutely no regrets or troubles. It's a great value and a great coffee maker.』

『I purchased the Keurig B60 for an elderly woman who had trouble pouring water into the old drip coffeemaker - she has trouble reaching up to get water into the narrow opening for filling the machine. The Keurig has a seperate resevoir for the water - the B60 holds 48 ounces - so when that's full, you just pop in a K-cup and push a button to make good coffee. It took a bit of learning for her to get used to using it(it's awfully simple but the dear has had a stroke and her memory is impaired) and get used to a new "gadget" in the kitchen. But now she likes it and can have coffee, tea or cocoa quickly and neatly. I use it as well and I like the richer blends of K-cup coffee - it makes a very good cup of joe and you never need to clean the machine. I did pick up a water filter on sale so that I could fill the resevoir with filtered water, eliminating any possible mineral build-up that might clog it up later. I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend it.

『I debated quite a while before deciding to spend the money on the keurig coffee maker. So glad I endulged! I love it. I have hot coffee anytime I want it and don't waste "old" coffee. Each cup of coffee is about 48 to 50 cents. Ihaven't tried the filter that allows using your own coffee yet, but I will! Typically I make a small cup then a medium cup from the same K Cup...this fills my mug just right and it's not too strong/bitter. Love it!! I've tried several of the different coffees and have enjoyed them all. They only thing I haven't liked is the hot chocolate but that is the brand not the keurig.』

『I like the convenience of getting of cup of coffee or tea whenever you want without making a whole pot. Also having the different flavors available for a change of pace. However, I've about had it with the mechanics of these coffee makers. I've had 3 Keurig B50-B60 model coffee makers in less than 2 years. Each one breaking down. This last one, the B60 I bought in June 09. I use filtered water, descale it when needed and use the recommended filter that you place inside the water resevoir holder (changed every 2-4 weeks depending on usage). However, the machine gets clogged, sputters, doesn't work when you press the coffee button, drips only...or just plain makes alot of noise and nothing happens when you press for a cup of coffee. Personally, I'm tired of paying $150 for a coffee maker that last 6 months or less. It's bad enough the k-cups are not the cheapest. But I buy them because I like the coffee. NO MORE...I'm seriously thinking of going back to the POT. Any suggestions on how to make it work? Went to the Keurig site, but they only want to sell you coffee, not help you with their inferior product.』

『This was a treat that I bought myself. I am glad I did. K-cups are great but a word to the wise 1 k cup does well in the small and middle size cup serving but is weak in the large one. Therefore I can see no point in buying a machine that offers a larger size of cup. I do use their filter and the my k-kup - great for t bags and coffee bags available on ebay and Amazon. I have reused the k cup with my own coffee with the cap that is available. Best deals for K Cups are Amazon subscribe and save and Bed, Bath and Beyond with a coupon. Nice machine.』

『Great cast iron skillet... one of the most used items in my kitchen. just season with a bit of oil after each use and you are good to go!』

(The benchmark in cast iron, but are you ready for the prep?)
『I succumbed to the cast iron cookware religion after reading an article in our local paper talking about how great cast iron was. They mentioned the prep, seasoning and upkeep a bit but sort of glossed over that. I was happy to see that Amazon carried Lodge, which was the brand mentioned in the article. After I placed my order I found to my disappointment that the same Lodge pieces were available cheaper at the local big box discount store that starts with a "W".

And even though the pans are "pre-seasoned", there are entire blogs and websites devoted to the convoluted task of properly seasoning cast iron- the pre-seasoning is dismissed as inadequate. There are instructions on baking your pans, coated in oil or Crisco, in a 500 degree oven for several hours, with warnings to disable all your smoke detectors and open the windows (no kidding) due to the smoke that will be produced. The wife quickly ruled that no such procedure was going to occur in our home. Other methods involve sanding them down with sandpaper before seasoning. The bottom line is that unless you are prepared to go through a lot of effort, cast iron may not be for you.

I tried another suggestion about heavily oiling the pan and cooking bacon for the first time or two to generate some seasoning. The bacon still stuck anyway. Fans of cast iron say that the black, burnt on remains of the last meal add character and flavor to the next meal, but to me it does not seem appealing. You're warned not to use dish soap or the dishwasher for your cast iron, only hot water.

Unless you are a true cooking fanatic with LOTS of time on your hands to deal with the prep and cleanup on cast iron, you may want to stay away. This probably explains why people have fond memories of the cast iron cookware of yesteryear, our grandmothers had time to do this, plus Teflon had not been invented yet.』

『This 12 inch skillet is a nice size to cook for a family of four. This is my second Lodge cast iron product. I also bought the 7 quart dutch oven...nice size for a big pot of stew. I rate this item a 4 star because it roughens up my stainless steel cooking utensils. My spatula has rough edges as if I've scraped it across concrete. The same goes for my spoon. It would have been nice to have a smoother cooking surface. I'm just hoping with use it will smooth out. Even with this drawback, I have just ordered the 5 quart dutch oven, and the pre-season combo cooker. I just love that I can heat up the pan as hot as I want without any worries!』

(Great Skillet)
『Pre-seasoning on this skillet was kind of a joke. I'm a complete newbie to iron skillets, so I didn't understand this. However, after proper seasoning, I'm quite happy with this product. We use it to make fried chicken, cook bacon, make gravy and all sorts of other wonderful things. The fact that it's 12 inches makes it large enough to cook a good amount of food when entertaining others.

We are quite pleased with our purchase and as a young couple trying to learn all the new cooking techniques we can, this was a great addition to our arsenal of pots and pans!』

『I've had my grinder attachment for about a year and I'm mostly happy with it, but there are a few things I would change.

Pros: One of the big positive points to this grinder is the amount of space it takes up when stored compared to a dedicated grinder and is pretty easy to setup and breakdown for cleaning. If you treat it right it is a very good grinder for the amount of meat a home could would normally process at one time, five or ten pounds at a go seems well within it's capabilities. The trick is to properly prep your meat before grinding it which means trimming as much of the sinew and other connective tissue off as possible and cutting the meat into chunks that will easily fit down the feed tube. If you prep properly and don't try to feed it too fast you can grind all day without a problem. After prep I can grind through five pounds of beef or pork in about 15 minutes on this unit.

Cons: The plastic stomper/tamper thing is crap. Not a huge deal for straight up grinding but when using this to stuff sausage the tamper is worse than useless, it doesn't fit the tube well so ground meat oozes out around the edges, which then seals the plunger in the tube so it pulls a vacuum when you try to pull out back out and sucks air into the mix and just creates a big mess. In fact I think I might just head out to the shop tonight and turn myself a better fitting stomper out of some maple and see if that helps on my next batch of sausage.

For the money and the convenience this is a really good little grinder, it would be a great grinder with a better a stomper included and a overall larger, sturdier construction. If they were to increase the size of the components by about 50% it would cut down on the prep time a bit and make it less likely to clog on stray bit of sinew that makes it through.

(Does What You'd Expect)
『We've used this a couple of times and it has performed well. It's not perfect, in the following ways: 1) It does not handle fat very well; after awhile the fat gets stuck in the holes of the plate and you need to take a couple of minutes to clear it out. 2) It spits raw meat juices sometimes rather far! 3) You need to feed it manually and use the pusher to keep it going. While this is no surprise, to get a fifth star, Kitchenaid would need to come up with a better way of the thing feeding the meet more automatically. 4) The first couple of batches have produced several small globs of machine grease in the ground meat! While I am sure this will go away once the machine is broken in, it does make me wonder whether the grease is necessary for proper operation. If not, why does it ship from the factory without being internally cleaner? This leads me to #5) The manual says nothing about the grease (i.e. whether it is normal or whether it needs to be re-greased ever, etc.). By the way, the picture shows a wooden stomper, but ours shipped with a white plastic version, which is fine (though likely to break eventually).

Still, this grinder does what we expected, and as long as it lasts a long time, we'll be very satisfied. Overall, we are happy with it (so far).』

『Like some other reviewers, I had problems with metal shavings getting in my food. At first, I saw some "gray gunk" coming out of the center of the grind plate and into my meat. I disassembled, cleaned, reassembled, and ran the grinder dry to find out what was happening. The metal pieces (blade and plate) appear to rub against each other and produce metal filings.

KitchenAid refused to acknowledge the problem and suggested that I had overtightened it. I had only hand-tightened it like the directions stated, yet the problem wouldn't go away even after using it for a while. Disappointed, I returned it to the store.』

(Good, but needs a little improvement)
『It really is a savings on your grocery budget if you can grind your own meats. This is a good attachment for the Kitchen Aid. The only thing I can see that could be better are the holes in the grinder blade. They could stand to be a little bigger. As they are now, the meat tends to get mushy instead of grounded.』

(Solid Product!)
『I was a little hesitant with the plastic looking outside, but all the insides are steel and the construction is solid. This attachment works exactly as described. Bought some prime top sirloins on sale at the HEB for 3.99/lb and made some killer ground beef sauteed with onions that my 2 year olds absolutely tore up. Also had some natural porkchops that are hard for the boys to chew, ground that up and pan seared them, the boys ate everything and were asking for more. I think this will also help them digest the food better. Made the wife and myself some meatballs that turned out fabulous. If you're worried about cleanup, run an onion or carrot through at the end, I actually did both and used them in my meatballs. Fantastic.』

『I purchased the Victorinox (Forschner) 8" chef's knife on a recommendation from a nationally circulated cooking magazine. It was rated highly, over many, much more expensive knives - both European and Asian, (many of which I have).

The blade and edge keenness,(European bevel of 20 degrees),seem to be of high quality, although I have not owned the knife long enough to test the longevity of the blade edge. The knife is perhaps just a bit bulky, although I am still going through an adjustment period compared to my other knives. The handle also lacks the expensive, sophisticated finish and metal trim of the posher brands.

Altogether, however, the Victorinox 8" chef's knife appears to be a fine addition to my kitchen and certainly is a great buy!』

『This appliance worked flawlessly. It couldn't be easier. We used ours in the garage to keep the grease out of the house. The turkey was 14.05 lbs (14 is the max recommended) and fit very snuggly in the basket. I would definately go smaller then that if you can (10-12), so it doesn't have to cook as long.』

On the whole, I have been pleased with masterbuilt and this one is perhaps the best for indoor cooking. I also like the digital clock on the device, and also a viewing window, for ease. They really put a lot of thought before designing this fryer.

『I bought this product for myself a year ago in desparation looking for something to sharpen a wide variety of favorite kitchen knives. I have tried all of the other techniques from stones to powered knife sharpeners. As one who likes a sharp knife when cooking, I just wanted something to dress the edge quickly, reliably, and as often as I wanted to without a lot of hassle. After doing my research on the Internet, I decided to try this a year ago. It is nothing short of great. It met all my criteria and now we always have sharp cutlery no matter what type straight or serrated edge. I even use it on my meat clever. I liked it so much that all my family members are getting them as stocking stuffers for Christmas this year. I'll never have to complain about dull knives when I am cooking at their houses. As a gag, we stapled a few band-aids on the card before gift wrapping the sharpener. It's not a professional sharpening tool, but it is quick, practical, and a real timesaver.』

If you have expensive knives, like Global, that should get more tlc, this is not likely your best option. I use it to keep my other knives sharp, depending on frequency of use. I find that I use it weekly for my most used knives. I think it is a great tool for the price. Use it on a dry knife away from food and wash off the metal shavings immediately to avoid eating them. I find I use this way more than the tedious sharpening stone.』

『I bought this out of sheer desperation. I've been on an ice cream craving kick all summer and was starting to put on the weight thanks to all the grocery store summer ice cream specials. Since this machine makes frozen yogurt I bought it to hopefully curve my craving with a similar but less fattening frozen treat. My local grocery stores don't offer a great range of frozen yogurt flavors. After reading the reviews, I made a point of putting the insert container immediately in the freezer and left it there for 2 days. I read the little manual that comes with it and bought the ingredients for berry frozen yogurt. It turned out amazing. I just throw all the ingredients in my blender, mix, and pour into the machine. That was a couple of months ago. I've been making fantastic frozen yogurt non stop since that day - using whatever fruit is on sale. Right now, as I write this, I am making fresh pineapple frozen yogurt. I love it. My husband loves it and I've bought two more of these machines to give as Christmas gifts.』

『Growing up, my husband's grandfather always made the homemade ice cream at holiday time. Then, he and his grandfather, would compete to see who could eat the most ice cream. Well, for my husband's birthday this year, I bought him this Cuisinart ice cream maker. He made his first ice cream for our Gourmet Club to serve alonside German Chocolate Cake and they loved it! This week he attempted the more complex version of Butter Pecan and learned a whole lot from a couple of mistakes he made but the ice cream was still delicious. We love this product and he can't wait for the grandkids (ages 1 1/2 and 3 1/2) to arrive for the Christmas holidays so he can restart the family tradition but without the competition.』

(It Does The Job...But Not Perfect)
『In order to make quality ice cream with a good consistency, you need good ingredients, a frozen apparatus, and a mechanism that properly turns and scrapes the sides of the container. That's a pretty basic view. This machine gives you a 2qt container/bowl that stays frozen pretty well throughout the ice cream making process. The scraper, on the other hand, does not adequately scrape the sides of the container. Can you still make good tasting stuff? Yes, but it could be much better.

If you don't care and just want something quick to eat, this machine should be fine. It is loud, for sure, but that is to be expected. It is a motor after all.

If you are particular about your ice cream like I am and have experience with the old-fashioned hand crank types, my recommendation is this: occasionally/frequently take a plastic device (spoon, spatula, etc) and scrape the sides (and bottom) of the container while it is turning. This will keep the most frozen parts from staying on the side. You want them to be intregrated into the rest of the mixture. This accomplishes two things: 1) your ice cream will freeze faster and 2) it will have a better/creamier consistency.

Also, don't forget to make sure your ingredients are cold BEFORE putting them into the container. I did not buy the extra bowl but it would be worth it for those who wish to make a lot of successive batches. Otherwise you'll be waiting for the bowl to refreeze.

Overall, I would buy this item again. It is reasonably priced and is easy to use.』

『My partner has Type 2 diabetes and the store-bought sugar free frozen desserts just aren't that good. I've used this machine about a dozen times with great results every time making frozen yogurt. Have not made sorbets or ice cream. I use granulated Splenda instead of sugar. The mixed berry frozen yogurt recipe that comes with the machine is great, and I've concocted my own banana/peanut butter frozen yogurt that is fabulous. I've had no issues with the yogurt reaching the proper firmness - which is like the frozen yogurt you get out of a store machine after 20 minutes in the Cuisinart. I just put it in a precooled tupperware bowl and stick it in the freezer for about an hour to complete the firming process before serving. If you freeze it overnight it will be hard so just put it in the fridge for a couple of hours and let it soften before serving. I found that the Greek style yogurt is creamier and gives the best results. (I use the low fat)』
