(Hot Shot a must have)
(Hot Shot Wins My Respect)
(Great Product!) I really enjoy having access to HOT water almost INSTANTLY. It is very fun pouring water onto this device and knowing that it will be hot in seconds. For the price you pay to get access to INSTANT hot water this device is priceless. Now i dont have to get a headache whenever i want to make hot coffee or a soup! We have been using this Hotshot for a couple of years. It was a Xmas present from a friend who has been using one for over 20 years; obviously this is a newer model. It has replaced my cumbersome teapot and now my husband uses a French press for coffee instead of a coffee maker. So our kitchen seems a little less cluttered. It's very quick, even at a mile high. We leave a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup in it. No leaks in ours! I have used hot shots for years. I would be lost without it. Every kitchen should have one. Great for instant coffee, tea, jello, soups, hot chocolate, and on and on. Quicker than a tea kettle and better than the micro. Now they come in black which goes with my other appliances. I am a happy customer. A friend introduced me to the Sun Beam Hot Shot a couple years ago. Before that time I would fill the kettle put it on the stove and wait for what seemed forever for the water to boil so I could finally enjoy a cup of tea. However with the Hot Shot all one needs to do is simply pour the amount of water the cup will require into the top of the Hot Shot, depress the activate button, and wait about 45 seconds or less...and wa-la...you have a cup of steaming hot water. It is worth every cent I paid for it and when I wear it out I will buy another one...as they are just wonderful. Love this product! Heats water in a minute or two. Works great! My only comment would be that some of my taller mugs don't fit in it. I would definitely recommend this product. customer 's review (It's OK for its Price)
(Poor Design)
(I like the insulated carafe!)
(This Thing Stinks)
(Zojirushi Better Than Braun Thermal) The Good: Coffee is brewed quickly, tastes fine, and it stays hot. The Bad: It doesn't pour well. The lid is crazy and hard to line up. The #4 filters the mfg. recommends have to be cut down because they're too tall. The Bunn stainless steel pour-over is a much better coffee maker but it's also twice the money. Thermal? Even with the extra little cap provided, the stainless steel pot keeps coffee hot about 2 hours. We had a glass thermal coffee pot before which kept the coffee hot for at least 4 hours. The lid is hard to tighten, has ridges that are very uncomfortable to turn and it's hard to tell if you have it on tight. When you pour, you can only tip it so far or it spills all over. It looks very stylish on my kitchen counter, but that's the only thing I like. I wish I had my old coffee pot back, but they don't make it anymore. Be sure you buy the BD15 vs 17. This is the height of the unit and the 17" will not fit under most US counters. The carafe does keep the liquid hot for 12 hours as advertised. I don't know why people rate the turn top as difficult to loosen. You don't have to screw it down so hard-dah! I am a scuba diver and you learn to tighten the knob and then back it off just slightly...this can be true for many things in life! I switched to this type of make because I am tired of a glass carafe which has no insulatory capacity and also breaks very easily. Buy it! Just packed up my second one to be returned. I never even got to the point of making coffee. Both units leaked water out of the main tank, and not just a little. The first one leaked so bad that I had several cups of water on the counter before I dumped it back out and this was while I was trying to put coffee in the filter. Don't waste your time.
I have the Braun KF 600 and it stopped working after a few months so I purchased the Zojirushi and was pleasantly surprised. The Zojurishi brews a better, faster pot of coffee and keeps it hotter in the thermal carafe much longer than the Braun. It is also half the price of the Braun. It is rare that you find find a better product at a lower price, but the Zojirushi fits the bill. I am pretty picky about my coffee maker and I am very impressed by this product. Zojirushi Fresh Brew Coffee Maker EC-BD15 features a 1.5 liter stainless steel vacuum insulated carafe with excellent keep-warm performance for fresh tastingcoffee. Unlike other coffee makers with a burner that quickly bitters the taste of coffee, the Fresh Brew Stainless Steel Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker comes with a stainless steel thermal carafe that keeps the coffee hot for hours without altering the taste. It also features an electric timer clock module to set the coffee to complete brewing by the desired time. Lots of folks dislike the burnt flavor that coffee gets when it sits in a glass pot over a heating element. To avoid this, coffee shops often brew right into large thermal pots to keep the coffee warm without it becoming overcooked. The Zojirushi Fresh Brew does that, too, but in home-sized batches. It looks great, too, with a glossy black body and stainless steel carafe and brew basket. To brew, lift the lid and swing the water outlet spout to one side while the filter is being loaded; the spout will return to its proper position when the lid is closed. A small red ball in the water gauge makes it extra simple to read. And an electronic clock module also serves as a timer that will start the brewer at a specified time. The carafe's lid is designed to be on during brewing, with a small cap to help keep the heat in after it's ready. The Fresh Brew also has a pause-and-serve function that stops the flow for 30 seconds while a cup of coffee is served. To clean the brewer unit, use a solution of white vinegar and water, following the instructions in the accompanying booklet. The unit is not immersible. The exterior can be wiped with a damp soft rag; do not use abrasives or scouring pads. The filter reservoir is removable; clean with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. The coffee brewer measures 15 by 12 by 9 inches (includes carafe handle when unit is completely assembled), and it uses #3 cone-shaped disposable paper filters. The Fresh Brew comes with a detailed instruction booklet. Zojirushi guarantees its products with a one-year limited warranty.--Garland Withers Rerations < Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker >

customer 's review (Rival 2 1/2 Crockpot)
(Awesome little crock!)
(Love this)
(Oatmeal does burn)
(Perfect size) Believe it or not, I have never owned a crockpot, and I am 60 years old. I decided to purchase one and enjoy making some comfort foods for myself. I love this little inexpensive crockpot, in fact my sister says that I am going to wear it out. Even though I no longer work, I love putting everything in it, and enjoying the aroma as it cooks, and then later in the day have a wonderful meal, such as my beef barley stew, chicken soup, pineapple pork chops over rice, and now I am going to make some rice pudding and bread pudding. For the money, you could not get a better little crockpot, and I highly recommend it. Enjoy! I own four Rival sow cookers and this one gets used most. It can hold a lot more than it appears. I use it to cook small roasts, warm hot dogs for teh kids, make side dishes, for pasta dishes, to bake potatoes and yams, for rice pudding and so much more! My larger Rival crocks have had problems such as the handles breaking off from the lid or the heating element stop working, but this one keeps on going. We are a family of 6 and find so many uses for this little crock. It is a great investment and a great price! We bought this crockpot because of the great reviews and it has been great. We've used it to make stew (beans, barley, meat, and veggies). We cooked it on low for 17 hours and it was great. If you're going to cook your food for a long time, make sure to put enough water and keep it on low. If you fill it to the top, it's a full meal for about 4 people. Yes, the overnight oatmeal does get crispy/dry/burnt around the edges. The second time I cooked overnight oatmeal, I reduced the cooking time from 7 to 3 hours and it helped. Less burning. Next time I will keep it at 3 hours and add more water. Overall, it's a decent product. This size is just right for one, two, or three people. Rival is a good, steadfast brand, and I have used it for years. MANUFACTURER WARRANTY:andnbsp;andnbsp;1 YEAR Rerations < Rival 5025WG 2-1/2-Quart Crockpot >

(Be sure to dry completely before storing or they rust)
(Another Great Product)
(The kids wont' stop using them!) i use my set at work where i am sous chef. i usually use them for things like cutting out puff pastry for vol a vents or molding dishes together on my plates. or making things like mini crab cakes for hor d'euvers. they are farely well constructed so i'm not to worried about the durability while cutting thru frozen puff pastry. I work with polymer clay and these graduated rounds are exactly what I was looking for, and not just for circles. I can make perfect crescent shapes with them, too. The cutting edge is clean and sharp and the see-through design makes perfect placement a cinch. I love these except that if they are not totally dry when putting away, they rust so beware of that before it happens to you. I bought these along with a set of square cutters. And I use these cutters for just about everything, Cutting crepes, Ham, and of course cookies. The uses are unlimited. There very well made. I hand wash mine and dry by hand and then put them away till the next time. I would expect these to last a very long time. My girls use these for everything!! From making sandwiches to play-dough. I wonder if I'll ever get to use them. LOL I've had them several yrs and they haven't lost their shape. Professional gauge pastry and cookie cutters with a plain edge. Set of 11 in a reusable storage tin, ranging in size from 7/8"Dia to 3-3/4"Dia. Stainless steel. Complete with a tin storage box to reduce clutter, this set of 11 round, stainless-steel cookie cutters comes in handy for all seasons. The cutters range in size from 3/4 inch high to 3-5/8 inches high, and they have rolled edges on top to protect fingers during the cutting process. They're constructed to be long-lasting and are dishwasher-safe.--Fred Brack Rerations < Ateco 11-Piece Graduated Round Cookie Cutter Set >

(Love it!)
(An everyday workhorse) Great addition to my set, this is one of my favorite pots to use when cooking. Give it a try!!!! Love the size and convenience of the long handle. Easy to use. Great quality, the glass lid is great! Another gr8 pan from Rachel Ray! Own the 10pc set&have been waiting for this to go on sale...first pan rec'd. had a 'rough' finish to coating on inside of pan bottom, so returned as defective...BUT found out after getting the 2nd pan w/the same rough texture that it's not a defect (Anolon makes these on a different line in the plant!). Gr8 size for frying, easy clean-up&like the oval shape altho needed getting used to! You won't be disappointed in this pan! Rachael Ray 5-Quart Hard Anodized Orange Oval Saut¿ Pan with Helper Handle
I love this pan! It makes cooking a real joy. Easy clean up. A must have! Enjoy! If you're looking for an everyday workhorse of a pan, then look no further. This pan goes from stovetop to table with ease and is just the right size to handle many different types of meals. From scrambled eggs to casseroles to spaghetti sauce to taco meat, you'll find yourself using this wonderful kitchen tool almost every day, like I do.
There are a number of features that give this pan its appeal, but here's some of my favorite ones:
High Sides - I can "slop" food around in this pan without fear of sloshing over the top (and, in the process, incurring the wrath of my wife who is the stovetop cleaner).
Handles - The rubberized material on the handles will get slightly warm, but not too hot, making this pan comfortable to move around without aid of a pot holder. The helper handle is a HUGE plus when transferring to the table and this pan is oven safe to 400 degrees.
Glass Top - I cook a lot of things that need to be watched (red beans and rice), but don't want to remove the cover to inspect (loss of heat and steam, sometimes important to a recipe). The glass top is a godsend when keeping track of your creation.
Heat Transfer - I am an admitted 18/10 stainless steel snob. Our main cookware set is all stainless and I absolutely love it for all the characteristics that make stainless a serious cook's choice (braising and lack of hot spots, for example). The most important feature, in my mind, is even and fast heat transfer; stainless "responds" to changes in heat quickly. I was surprised to find this pan did very well with changes in heat.
A few notes on care and cleaning: This pan does have a non-stick surface, so don't use metal utensils when cooking; you will invariably scratch the coating and ruin it. In addition, soak the pan with water and a mild diswashing liquid like Joy, then scrub with a sponge. I prefer to immediately hand dry with a dish towel, but that last step may not be necessary.
This pan will give you many years of service if cared for properly (we use ours almost daily and it looks almost new). When both of us are cooking, we fight over this pan so you may need 2! Hard-anodized aluminum for durability, the pan heats evenly and quickly, while a nonstick interior helps with food release and cuts down on the fats necessary for cooking. The pan's wide oval shape takes up minimal space when the stovetop is crowded, andthe glass lid lets you watch over food without releasing heat or steam. The signature Rachael Ray orange handles have nonslip, heat-resistant silicone grips, and a helper handle on this pot makes draining and carrying much easier. customer 's review (Throw your george forman in the trash!)
(Cast iron is fantastic cooking ware!)
(high maintnance. very disappointing)
(Lodge Logic Cast Iron is the Way To Go!)
(Proper grill pan) This grill pan is great, cooks things well. Awesome quality. I've used to to cook a few different things, nothing sticks. I seasoned mine when using the included instructions when it got it. So much easier to clean and better taste than george foreman. I'm in an apartment and we can only have electric outdoor grills(whats the point). So I got this to do my grilling. I am impressed with this skillet. The grooves catch the grease and steaks, for example, do taste better cooked in this skillet. The drawback is that the grooves are harder to clean but overall it's worth it. i wouldn't have bought this pan had i known how high maintnance cast iron cookware are. there is a strict set of instructions for cleaning and caring for the pan to prevent it from rusting. for example, and i'm quoting the manufacturer website: *clean utensil with a stiff nylon brush and hot water *Towel dry immediately and apply a light coating of oil to the utensil while it is still warm *Do not use soap *Do not let your cast iron air dry, as this can promote rust. http://www.lodgemfg.com/use-care-seasoned-cast-iron.asp#2
had i known i'd have to work so hard to clean this pan, i wouldn't have made the purchase to begin with. big disappointemt I bought this pan a while ago,and must say,it's great! the Diameter is perfect for eggs, bacon, everything fries great in this pan, already seasoned is awsome also.Plus you don't have the chemicals, like in those no stick pans. These cast iron pans will last a lifetime! Lodge continues to put out real quality cast iron products. This is no exception. A larger size would be more versitile, but for the money, it's tough to beat. The one thing that probably discourages more people from purchasing and using cast iron is maintenance. Like carbon steel woks, cast iron cooking pieces require "seasoning." To many this is a mysterious or overly time-consuming process. Even if you treasure fond memories of eggs and pancakes cooked in grandmother's ancient, blackened skillet, you might have no idea how to turn your new pan into such a treasure. Fortunately Lodge has come out with the new Logic line, which has been evenly coated on all surfaces with an electrostatic spray of vegetable oil. Next the cookware is put into an extremely high temperature industrial oven which bakes the coating into the surface. Not only will you be spared the time and effort of seasoning, but also the new piece you buy will look and perform better than if you had seasoned it at home. Just like that heirloom pan you will find that even pineapple upside down cake doesn't stick to this surface. The ribbed bottom of this pan allows grease to puddle away from what you're cooking, all the while making those desirable stripes across fish, beast, or fowl.
