I should have been wary with other reviews of the product, but I wanted to give these a shot. I picked up two of them, one for the kitchen and another for the BBQ Grill. Though they do work well and have proven to be a handy cooking utensil, they are far from an "instant read" as described.

I used suggestions from other users and leave the item turned off before inserting it into the meat. When I turn it on, it takes a a few seconds to read a temperature, then it slowly adjust continuously and never really settles on a solid temperature. In one case, it first read 125 degrees and within a minute had dropped to under 95 degrees. I have learned to wait at least a minute to get a good reading - but at least it beats my old dial type thermometer.

I would suggest this product for everyday use if you are on a budget, but make sure to use it as described above. I will keep mine for a while, but will likely purchase something better when I can afford it.
This is the second one I've bought - I dropped the first one several times (breaking it open once, but I put it back together) and accidently in water a couple of times before it finally gave out (they're durable, but they won't go through everything). I really like them. I can't believe I cooked meat without a thermometer for so long. Now I don't overcook my food.
We ordered some of these and none of them lasted more than a week. The one I was given worked well enough, but the on/off switch broke and then it wouldn't turn off. The battery was dead in two days. That was the day I received it. They are poorly constructed, find something else.
I had read that this was a fast reading thermometer. Well it just isnt't. It can up to a minute to read.
I really loved this at first. It was my first meat thermometer and it worked very well. But not even a few months old and it died on me. I thought it might be the battery and figured I could just get a new battery. When I opened it up I could not get the battery out so I could just replace it. I have never seen something where the battery is not able to come out so you can replace it. I was very disappointed and now looking for a new one to replace this. You really get what you pay for.

As many people have pointed out this timer does not have an off switch. It really doesn't need one as the drain on the batteries for the display is minimal. Its accurate, loud, very easy to use, and the price is right. The only minor complaint is that the magnetic holder is a little wiggly on a metal surface. Overall I'm quite pleased
..but not ecstatic with the purchase. On the plus side, it works well - counts down and also up, which turned out to be a bonus for me. It has a magnet/clip/stand at the back, which makes it easy to use it wherever.

On the flip side, there's now way to turn it off and looks all plastic-y!
I got this timer to help me be more efficient at work. Set it to 40-50 minutes at a time and keep working until it's done. No email, Facebook, MySpace, or anything like that. For me, it has been more helpful than dozens of "get more done" books.
This timer is easy to use. Big display is easy to read. Can sit on the table, clip on someting or attach to a metal surface with magnet. The only thing I don't like is the weak magnet. If you opeate the timer while it is attach via magetic it will fall out.
Save your money. Too complicated to use. I much prefer the Taylor kitchen timer for kitchen use. The numbers on this unit are smaller and the functions are difficlt as it takes too many touches to set and use. The Talor has a nice stand and magnetic backing which is nicer too. This unit was a dissapointment and prompted me to purchase another Taylor 10 key.

This is a great pot for slow-cooking things like chicken, beef pot roast, etc. Although the thing is pre-seasoned, I seasoned it again with vegetable oil in a 250 oven for several hours. I made a delicious pot roast in it and everone loved it. I had one of these years ago and have missed it...now I am happy to have this one. Just don't buy it if you aren't pretty strong...it's heavy.
This pot is just the right size for doing fried chicken, the reason I bought it. I like the high sides to help reduce the splatter of frying, and the mass of iron helps keep the temperature just right. The lid does double duty as splatter guard and heat sealer. All round, just right.
I purchased this for my Daughter and Son in law and they absolutely LOVE it. The smaller size is just right for my daughter to handle with it full of stock. They are constantly coming up with new ideas and using the dutch oven very often. When asked for their rating, it's a five star...so...here we go! My wife and I have the larger one and we love it also. Get one for yourself (or for someone else), follow the seasoning and cooking instructions and enjoy the wonderful world of cooking with cast iron.
The dutch oven is great. A little heavy for weaklings, but I have no problem with it. For some reason food tastes different when cooked in cast iron. Has a country, home cooked taste. Hard to explain. Cleaning is a breeze. No soap...just brush out, dry, and coat with cooking oil. Don't have to worry about eating teflon with cast iron.

Only problem was it arrived with a broken handle.

Followed directions, and it rusted after first trip through the dishwasher. Returned item. We had noticed that the forging was poor, as you could see pitted marks right out of the package.
I love this silverware. I've owned my set for over three years now and have seen no signs of rusting or loss of luster. I love the simpleness to the design, no ornate etchings or flowery handles. I have seen other silverware with the same unadorned handles, but have found none that are executed to my taste as well as the Mooncrest design. They are good solid pieces and the fork and spoon shapes are to my liking, being more slightly more wide and squat than long and thin, and they are an appropriate weight, rather than feeling too light or somewhat hallow.

The finish, as the product description states, is highly reflective, despite the photo seeming to display a satin sheen.

In response to the complaints of rust or quality loss, I would like to point out that the flatware comes with a 25 year warranty so be sure to register your purchase to qualify. Occasionally all lines of products, whether silverware, electronics, clothing, etc, have items shipped out that are imperfect. I owned a iPod once that died after just one year, but I was given a refurbished replacement. The point being, one bad experience (or two or three) should not serve as a product's entire definition. You also have to consider the company's customer service, warranty, and replacement policy. Oneida is a well-known and respected company.

I am baffled and frustrated by all of the good reviews this flatware has received. Baffled because I received this set in early April and less than two months later the majority of the pieces have rust spots - which only continue to appear. Frustrated because I put stock in the positive comments, which ultimately led me to make the purchase. The flatware does look nice and it is sturdy and solid, but it rusts, which far outweighs any positive aspect. There is a reason the set is so cheap...it is cheap.
I received the silverware in a quick manner and I love the product. I love Oneida and the price was perfect!
I bought this set based on the glaring reviews in here. As soon as I received I put them in the dishwasher. I guess that's all it took, but a few pieces were RUSTED when I was going to transfer them from the dishwasher to the silverware drawer. Obviously this might be a one-off production glitch; however, I'm simply amazed at the vast number of 5 star reviews. Of the pieces that didn't rust, about half lost their luster and polishing -- again after ONE wash. Five stars? Really? After all it clearly advertises it is DISHWASHER SAFE and STAINLESS STEEL, in my case I got none. Absolutely unacceptable.

This is one awesome rice cooker!

If you love rice, you will love this rice cooker. Yes its pricey however any good fuzzy logic rice cooker will be. You cant screw up rice on this machine. Wait Ill take that back. I think it was here I read one bad review with someone probably trying to cook minute rice in the cooker. Anyway follow the instructions and you will get great rice everytime.

Keeps rice fresh and warm for a long time.

One thing buyers should think about with this rice cooker, if you like to steam things in a rice cooker this is not the one for you. You cant steam anything is a fuzzy logic.
Several years ago, I owned a large Zojirushi rice cooker, and it was a fine product. More recently, I bought the low-end model of Zojirushi rice cooker and vegetable steamer, and it worked wonderfully for a cooker in its price range. I left that model with a friend who was hosting an Asian exchange student, and she used it to provide her guest with the same quality cooked rice he was used to at home.

I needed a first-rate rice cooker, and again went with Zojirushi. I have now cooked white rice, brown rice and made porridge, and I love this machine!

As always, two points: First, measure precisely. Second, use the best rice you can afford to buy--new crop rice from my local Asian supermarket works particularly well. Do these two things, and you will have consistently excellent rice every time. I expect to get years of service out of this little cooker; it performs as well as its big brother (at a much lower price) and takes up about the same counter space as a toaster.

Altogether, an excellent deal!
The headline on this product says "Stainless Steel." That's BS. The outside of the cooker is stainless steel. The bowl in which the rice is cooked is coated with a miracle space age material, manufactured along with the rest of the product in--you guessed it--China. If you want to ingest that unknown material along with your rice, buy this cooker. Otherwise, stay away. I didn't even bother to try it. Just put it in the dumpster. There are less risky ways to make rice.
I bought this cooker due to the high reviews on Amazon.com. I'd like to strongly warn you if you want to do the same thing insane as I did. Don't trash your money this way. The cooker is extremely slow and the quality is not obvious comparing with the $20 one bought from Walmart. You can't even feel the difference! It's a miracle that there were so many users giving a 5 star review here. Can't understand the reason of it! Bottom line: Stop and stay far away from this crap!
Used on average 4 times a week for over 2 years. Makes perfect rice every time. Timer function is great. Prepare the mixture beforehand and the rice is ready at mealtime.

I have burned through two of these things with what I would consider pretty light use (bread crumbs, chopping nuts, pesto, vinagrette, etc.). The first one lasted for about a year, the second for about 4 months. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...

It is handy and convenient when it works, but for the price and with the Cuisinart name, I expected something a little more sturdy.
If you're looking to replace your beloved Braun MultiQuick 3-in-1 handheld immersion blender, do NOT buy this. My dear Braun finally burnt out after 7+ years, innumerable frozen fruit smoothies (including frozen strawberries), countless batches of hummus, soups, chopping nuts in the blender and chopper attachments, pesto, egg whites, etc. It was very, very well-loved and put to the test over the years, and held up beautifully. The Cuisinart, in contrast, burnt out after 3 uses - I never got to the whisk attachment, but both the hand blender and the chopper attachments were terrible. The angle of the blade on both is poor - it keeps all the food at the bottom of the chopper or the blender attachments, nothing mixes well, and pieces are very uneven in size. Getting the lid on the chopper attachment is also awkward unless you have huge hands (mine are not small). The whole thing is clumsier than the Braun and not nearly as ergonomic, which all would have been fine if it WORKED. But, nothing mixed, and then the gears got stripped after only a few uses (could have been while trying to shred baby carrots in the chopper attachment or making a frozen berry smoothie, I don't remember which). I took it back to the box store where I bought it. I'm going to try the more expensive Kitchenaid next, but am wary, but my kitchen just doesn't function anymore without a handheld immersion blender. I am also put out at having to spend so much more to get so much less in performance - I paid<$30 for the Braun over 7 years ago, and the Cuisinart was ~$60, and worked half as well. Please, please let the Kitchenaid work...

Where have the Brauns gone???
It has only one speed setting which is horrible and causes a mess every time I try to use it. The whisk is poorly designed and the chopper is too small to chop properly. The immersion blender is ok but there are better products out there that you can buy that are more value for your money. DO NOT BUY!!
I love this kitchen tool. It chops nuts great and blends well with easy cleanup!

This brush does indeed clean the grill racks very well. The steam from the water in the brush seem to make the job a bit easier. If you had a large, well made brush you might get the same results as you do with this one. The handle is a good feature. It's a good price as well.

I bought this because Consumer's Reports said there was very little difference in the grind consistency of this grinder and the grind of the much more expensive burr grinders. They were right about that after I finally got it put together. It took me over 30 minutes to find how it turned to close and lock. Plus the little plastic pieces looked so fragile that regardless of the 15% return charge and then shipping both ways, I was afraid that it would become more of a disaster than it already was, so back it went. Cleaning , also, was at least another hour. It did grind coffee nicely, though, lots better than my old one, but I would rather pay a little more for a durable simple to operate and assemble appliance, so, now I am looking again.
Have used a year and a half now and it works as good as the day it was new. Very consistent from day to day and cleans up easily. Would highly recommend. I figured when I received this as a gift, it probably cost $50-$60, At $20 I was blown away.
This is not a burr grinder, but it's convenient, cleans up easily, and does a more than adequate job. I've had more expensive grinders that didn't work as well. Other grinders have caused some problems with static electricity, where the ground coffee sticks to the plastic and then ends up everywhere...not so much with this one. Would definitely buy another one; in fact I may buy one just to use for spices.

The second time I used the grinder the programming feature failed to work. It did grind the beans by holding down the button. I am disappointed that it failed as I liked the features.
After daily use over the past several months, this grinder is still going strong and is a breeze to use and clean up. For those worried about counter space, it is small enough to slip into a cupboard easily or to simply leave out.

If only everything in my life were this well designed.

Bought a 6 or 8 set of these knives my Senior year in college at a reasonable price. 10 years later, I'm back because I've learned not to cut a great steak with any other miscellaneous steak knife I have laying in the silverware drawer. I've lost several and ended-up with a hodgepodge of roommates knives over the years. I have 3 of these identical Henckels knives left and I'm here, about to buy a set of 8. I can grill a juicy steak, and there's something about cutting the 1st bite with a razor sharp knife. Only downside, if any, these aren't the real heavy-in-the-hand feel knife that you may like, they're lightweight, but they're great quality... my 1st Amazon review, but compelled to add a few words.J.A. These are sharp and inexpensive everyday knives that cut everything easily. When one inevitably disappears, I won't care since they're so cheap.
We previously had purchased a different, high-quality brand of steak knives -- but as happens over time, some of them somehow disappeared. These serrated knives were an absolute steal at the price advertised on Amazon.com -- unbelievable in the abstract, and especially compared to its competitors! Plus, the quality is even better than the ones we had, even when new (we've found that serrated knives are sharper, and typically remain sharper over time). Seller was extremely prompt and reliable in shipment. Couldn't have asked for more. (And, by the way, I am not "Sarah Wald, a chemistry student" -- I know no such person). B. Wald
I like these knives. They are very sharp and clean up well in my dish washer. They are somewhat light in weight but cut very well. I've no complaints. Good value in my opinion. I'd buy again.
We use them as steak knives but also to chop veggies or else. Hopefully they will stay sharp as they are right now. Very nice handle, smooth and fits well into your hand. Happy with that purchase.

Since I love the Toddy Cold Brew System so much, these filters are a must. You can rinse them out and use them over and over for quite a while. I have some acid reflux but love coffee; the Toddy System removes about 60% of the acid so I can still enjoy my morning coffee without much worry.

Todd maker coffee is the absolute best. These are essential. I got them to replace the ones that were accidentally left in storage after I moved.
The Toddy filter is a key component of the Toddy Coldbrew Coffee system.
