I'm a big guy and my hand size holds the blender comfortably when in use, although the same may not be said for a more petite grip - as I say, it's a heavyweight workhorse... But I like it.』
(If only it had lived...) 『It was a wonderful little blender, very handy in size, not a lot of fussiness, attractive, easy to use, all that.
HOWEVER, I honestly was only able to use it about five times over a six-month period. I made some pestos, a soup or two, and...that was about all I could get out of it before it croaked. I took it out of the box one day in great anticipation, but its spirit had parted. And no one knows when or how it happened.
I tried to call customer service of course, but they basically said that it must have either short-circuited or the insides had come apart, and all I could do was buy another one. The best price they gave me was forty-five dollars for a refurb sans shipping costs. Imagine the disappointment. I had to bury a shiny new acquisition before I even had the chance to wreck it. And I had just purchased the whipping attachment.
I will just stick with my mother's 15 year-old hand blender for now, because 3 watts of power through 15 years is a better deal than 60 watts for five thrilling uses.
I talked to some friends after that and they seemed to have similar opinions about kitchenaid appliances (in contrast with some other familiar brands)--attractive and great UNTIL. They work well until they decide to stop working, by my survey, and it seems to be a rather undependable and unattractive gamble you're asked to take with the kind of price range their brand commands...

My purpose for writing this review is to warn others not to use this with ice or frozen fruits. I'd say that my blender is about a few years old and about a year ago I began making protein shakes for breakfast, sometimes using ice or frozen stawberries&bananas. I'd say I made 3-4 a week. The other day when cleaning out my sports bottle, I found one of the BLADES at the bottom. It broke clean off! (I uploaded a picture) I can't imagine the pain I would have been in if I actually drank that thing. If this hadn't happened, I'd just be as happy as a clam like everyone else with this thing. I recommend that if you get it, only use it for "soft" blending. NO ICE OR FROZEN FRUIT! If you treat it gently, I'm sure it will last you quite a bit longer than mine did. Maybe it was my fault for assuming that I could use it this way. I did look back in the manual and the only indication given that it can't handle this is where they give some recipies and then say "frozen xyz fruit, partially thawed" by one of the ingredients. I've decided to try the Miallegro 9090 MiTutto instead as it looks like it has thicker blade tips and should work better with this type of use. (Great rice cooker, poor instruction book) 『Although the rice cooker itself works great, the instruction book which comes with it is very poor. It doesn't even explain when to use which of the two slightly different sized cups the unit comes with. That said, it cooks white and brown rice beautifully and makes a terrific batch of steel cut oats oatmeal.
One feature I wish it had was to give some indication of the approximate cooking time left to go. It only does so for the last few minutes of the process. Also, the built in clock doesn't seem to have a way to display North American convention 12 hour time and always displays in the 24 time format. The clock isn't important as we are surrounded by clocks on just about everything with a digital display these days, but it does show lack of attention to the local market. Then again, maybe there is a way to change the clock mode and I just can't find it in the manual!』

I'm glad I did. Yes, it costs more to buy the little coffee capsules, but it is well worth it since there is no clean up involved, even if the grounds in a conventional make are a "hocky puck". On the Nespresso, as far as I care, there are no grounds, just a spent pod. It's nice to have a wide selection of coffees, and there are differences in taste, but the biggest thing is that you can get either regular pods (makes about 2 oz of espresso) or 'lungos' which makes about 5-6 oz..more to enjoy, especially as a latte. Getting the Aerocinno frother is a must...it creats either a great steamed milk with a little froth or a lot of froth, depending on which stirrer is used.』
(Love it) 『I have been thrilled with my Nespresso C100 Aero with Aeroccino. My husband purchased it for me as a birthday gift after we used one at an upscale hotel we stayed at last year. (something I would not have purchased myself!). It is simple to use, takes only a few seconds to brew. I have enjoyed the Aeroccino as well and use it to make Lattes and Cappucinos (I usually don't drink the straight-up espresso). I usually use two pods per latte as I like them strong; one pod if using the Lungo pods. The Aeroccino does not get the milk quite as hot as I would like, but still is quick and easy to use. I also use it to make hot chocolate for my kids, and the temperature is perfect for them(I just put in the milk and the packet of hot chocolate mix). Cleanup is a breeze. You can change the factory settings to make the "pull" as long or short as you would like. I have found the quality of the espresso pods to be excellent. There is good guidance in terms of product selection to help you find the type of coffee that fits your needs. The customer service is excellent. I signed up for the Espresso Club service. With your first order you get a free "pod organizer" which is nice, because it has color pictures to remind you what flavor each color corresponds to, and where each flavor falls on the strenght spectrum. The pods are about on par with the cost of other pod systems, and are certainly cheaper than going to Starbucks every day.』
(Excellent and Easy!) 『This machine was the desert for the new coffee system that my wife and I began buying about a month ago. We brew our morning coffee and use the Nespresso machine for evening expresso (me) and latte (her). And it couldn't be better or easier. Just pour some filtered water into the reservoir, turn the machine on, drop a small Nespresso capsule in the C100, wait for the continuous lights, and push the expresso or latte button. Voile, done! Well, at least that's it for me and my expresso. My wife must froth her milk. She hasn't complained and says it's as good or better than her Starbuck's brew.
I find that I need to push the expresso button at least twice to fill my Bodum Assani expresso glass. The capsules have gone up in price to 55 cents each. Oh, dear! Looks like a second job for me. I'm not kidding about how easy the process is or how satisfied we are with this expresso machine. And there are A LOT of capsule varieties to chose from. Nespresso rates them for strength. I love the Capricio and Arpeggio for expresso. I am coming to enjoy the former more and more. It's fairly strong but has less of a raw taste than the stronger Argeggio. At any rate, a sampling of capsules comes with the machine. Cleaning is a breeze with the parts easily removable.
If the manual machines are a bit better, those of you with the patience to use them will probably pass on the C100. For us, however, coffee WORK is a morning endeavor only. Evenings are for EASE. By the way, I haven't found the caffeinated varieties to keep me up at night (despite the fact that I am writing this at 11 PM). The Nespresso C100 is one great product!!! I haven't gotten any of the fancy attachments or extras. I just have the bowl, and the three basic attachments (paddle, whisk, and bread hook). Addmittedly, I think I've only used the bread hook a few times. I have a bread machine, so I just don't need to use it. However, the mixer has enabled me to make hundreds and hundreds of cookies every winter holiday season. I also use it to make mashed potatoes and massive amounts of zucchini bread (you know,from those monster zucchini that get away from you in the garden). As a matter of fact, my mixer has helped to make my reputation of being an above average baker. My mixer has never let me down. It is heavy enough to mix the really tough doughs and fast enough to whip up egg whites. My only complaint is that the little handles on the "lock" and "speed" switches fell off almost immediatly. Not a big deal, but slightly irritating.』

minor observations:
built-in plastic coaster bottom could do without. will cultivate mold/mildew over time. it's not seam-sealed. you can't prevent water from getting under there, even if washed carefully by hand (recommended).
sippervoir(sipping+reservoir) needs to be fairly clean if you want the fliptop to open on command. dried up coffee or liquid binds the nipple and sippervoir together for several seconds - like when you get some syrup or sugar on your hand, it tends to get sticky.
looking under the cap, it will behoove you not to get any liquid trapped under it. top cap can't disassemble for cleaning/drying. it will prevent buildup of mold/mildew. (use a steam cleaner under cap - maybe?) it does a perfect job of containing liquid inside, and leakproof to my observation.』
(Incredible!) 『From 6:40am to now as I am drinking it at 4:10pm (I drink my coffee super slow I know), this mug has kept my coffee HOT! It's spillproof, plus the sipper has a small hole from which the coffee comes out of, and so if you tilt it to drink it, you can blow on your hot coffee first before sipping (the liquid sits in the "well" so to say if you pour it out little by little). I love my sigg thermoses because they keep my coffee just as hot for just as long, but drinking it is a pain because if it's too hot you'll either burn your mouth or spill it all over yourself on the commute (I take a subway and bus) as a result of it's huge mouth/opening.
