(Perfect soft eggs every time) 『It is rather small and won't take more space on your counter than a big coffee mug. Just put cold tap water (they even made a water level line, so you do not need to measure), place into the cooker metal tray, close the cooker, and place into microwave. I use Sanyo EM-S2588W 2/3-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven, White at high settings, so it is 800 watt, and large eggs right out of refrigerator. In 7 minutes I have perfectly cooked soft boiled eggs: hard whites and liquid yolks. Frankly, I've never cooked soft boiled eggs as perfect as this little baby does.』
(Diminishing returns... back to stove boiling) 『My first 2 batches were too soft, but I eventually found the perfect time for my Microwave (GE 1.4CF 1100W) to be 7min. I got about 8-10 perfect batches from it, and then the egg cracking started. One guaranteed cracked egg for every batch of 4. Not a pretty sight. Also the grey egg plate has lost some of its coating and blackened at the contact points with the eggs; I'm not sure if this is causing the eggs to overheat and crack.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
Pros: 1. Cheap 2. Worked perfect for 8-10 batches
Cons: 1. Eggs crack consistently now - cracked eggs smell and fume even while the cooker is in the microwave and are not a pretty sight when removed 2. Produces a lot of heat and steam; totally fogs up my microwave door. I worry about screwing up my microwave oven. 3. Very hot and needs to be handled with care, and given time to cool. With the time it takes to cool, don mitts, clean, etc. I wonder if you're actually saving a whole lot of time.
I've never had trouble boiling eggs with a pan on the stove, except for the time it took, so now I'm back to doing that. At least no cracked eggs or other surprises. I also discovered I could boil the entire dozen at once and leave them in the fridge with their shells on, and just thaw them out when I need them. This is working great; wonder why I didn't think of this before.』

(Best peeler ever) 『I never knew that these "Y peelers" existed until recently. After watching some cooking videos I saw how easy they made the peeling seem. Did some research, and bought this OXO last week.
After 1 week I have to say that this peeler is great. I've peeled everything in the house including my fingernail. The blade is sharp, watch out. It also slices the side of a cheese block perfectly. The cheese is a little thin, but just throw two slices on there and your good.
The handle is wide and allows you to have a firm solid grip. The blade swivels. The "eyer" is not sharp so soft fruits or vegetables gets a little smashed (tomatoes). And yes I was peeling the the skin off tomatoes. It works.
Bottom Line: Works great, feels great. Peeling is 100 times easier over those side peelers. Construction feels solid. Good quality. $12 well spent.
