(Great product)

(Best I have ever owned by far. I love this thing.)

(This beats my old box grater hands down)

(i love love love my pink microplane!)

(The tool you must get~)
Purchased as a gift, I live the one I bought and wanted to share this fantastic kitchen tool. Its perfect for grating fresh parmasean cheese over pasta or citrus zest for dressings and marinades.
Well I certainly have to give this little zester top ratings all the way around. I own five or six various zesters, some good, some bad and some that I would not even give my sister who we try to keep sharp things away from; she has mastered the toaster and is able to open soda cans, but that is about it. Just a tip: just because someone is an MBA, dose not mean they can function in the real world. Anyway, I digress... This little thing is by far the best I own and the best I have ever used; and I have used a bunch of different models.

This grater is easy on the hand and even after a couple of hours of steady use, I do not seem to get stiff and tired as I do with others. The handle is perfectly molded and fits my hand perfectly. I use mine for lemon, oranges and hard cheeses that need grating. This works perfectly every time. If you have ever had to spend zesting fruit for a large meal (like as in feeding 30 or 40 people) and spent hours doing so, you will find that this zester will cut your work time to fractions.
There are several things to note about this instrument. First, never every put it in the dishwasher. It will dull the grating surface. I use a heavy stream of very hot water and rinse, rinse, rinse. The hot water helps in the drying process. Never put this thing away wet or damp...you are just asking for trouble. This item comes with a protective slip cover and you should use it as if you let the zester bang around with other stuff in y our drawers, it will dull it. And this is important...BE CAREFUL! This is an extremely sharp instrument and you can take a pound our two of skin off in a blink of the eye. Slow and easy is best, especially at first until you get very familiar with it.

I do wish I could give this zester more than five stars as it certainly deserves it.

I've been using my old box grater to zest and grade nutmeg and chocolate. This is much better and easy to clean.
omg, after dealing with the nightmare which is the Kitchenaid Grater. This is heaven sent. It is super sharp. Grates everything and is a complete breeze to clean. I was also able to get it in Pink. It is totally fabulous. I wish I would have found one a year ago.
The crater and zester is the best tool I ever get. Easy to use @very affordable price. Great product~
  • Designed to extract the best flavor from your foods
  • High-quality stainless steel with grating edges that stay razor sharp
  • Excellent for onions, garlic, hard cheeses, citrus fruits, ginger and more
  • Blade measures 8.5" long
  • Ergonomic black plastic handle

Microplane, Zester Grater, With Patented Surgical Grade Stainless Steel Razor Sharp Teeth&Comfortable Santaprene Handle, Non-Clogging Teeth, Dishwasher Safe, Grating Area 8" x 1", Overall Length 12", Overall Width 1-5/16", For Grating&Zesting.
For fluffy, evenly sized cheese shreds, this is the perfect grater. Its design is based on that of a rasp, the small and efficient woodworking tool. The cutters are especially sharp, which guarantees easy grating. But this also means you'll need to exercise extra caution--no one likes grated knuckles. The large handle allows for a firm grip, and the completely flat grating surface makes it easy to move the cheese across the blades. Carrots, onions, and medium to firm cheeses all worked beautifully with this grater. It's also an excellent choice for larger strips of citrus zest or ginger.--Jill Lightner

    (OXO pastry scraper)

(Usefull and very sturdy. Has a strong, hard blade.)

    (pastry scraper)

    (Nice Product)

    (Great!)
Great product, as good as I had expected. OXO has always provided consumers with the best tools for the kitchen.
I have owned one for about 15 years. A very useful item. I use it as a counter scraper when baking and as a salad and sometimes nut chopper, also to scrape the cooktop on my ceramic range. I sharpen it on a diamond stone every couple of years, it holds its edge well. I wash it mostly by hand but sometimes in the dishwasher. The hard rubber handle shows no sign of age. The blade is 1mm thick. I rounded the corners slightly to prevent gouging when I use it to scrape my wood cutting boards. I scrape with the blade near perpendicular to the surface, bad for any blade but it holds its edge so hey.
Been making pies for 65 years, don't know how I did it so long without something similar to this product. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT
A little pricey but it is sturdy and does what it is suppose to do. A ruler at the end is nice.
There's not much you can say about this product. It's does what it needs to do and it's a must-have for any baker.
Designed to scrape and split bread dough as you work with it on a board, this tool has an extra comfy handle.

(A good product to decrease waste)

    (Better flavor. No paper used.)

    (Saves Money)

    (Coffee anyone?)

    (Works Well -)
I'd had a previous Cuisinart filter that lasted for years. The bottom of it was slightly open with coffee grounds slipping through. This one is a bit less sturdy. Have to be more careful when I empty the grounds. Otherwise does a good job of filtering the coffee.
This filter not only improves the taste of the coffee. It also helps with less paper use. Try it!! I believe you will like it!!
The Cuisinart GTF Gold Tone Filter for the Cuisinart 12-cup Coffee Maker - Stainless Steel with 30 Paper Filters is a great way to save money over paper filters, but the fact is paper filters do a better job -- in fact, they do a a much better job. If you use the GTF with a standard grade of ground coffee, you can expect fine coffee particles throughout the bottom quarter of your pot. A coffee that is not so finely ground would probably leave less residue than the Gold Tone Filter, but the end result is the same: this is a problem you do not have to worry about with paper filters.

That said, the flavor is almost as good (at least for the first few cups) and just having a permanent filter around will save you the aggravation of discovering you are out of paper filters while you are getting ready for work. That comfort alone makes this item worth the modest cost of six to seven dollars (the price as I write this review.) If you grind your own coffee less fine than commercial brands you can get rid of most of the problem of residue at the bottom, at which point the GTF becomes a very worth while purchase.

It may not have been 100% exactly the same fit as my original one but it does the job baby!

Works well but messy to get the grounds out. Also some fine particles of coffee get through.

It may be retired for emergency use only, when I run out of brown paper filters.

    (Awesome Corn Popper)

(Good popper, but not designed to handle smaller kernels varieties.)

(If you like dry tasteless popcorn...buy this!)

    (workd great)

    (Presto Hot Air Corn Popper)
I love popcorn and also need to watch my weight. Microwave popcorn, even the lowfat options, still contains enough fat to make it an unhealthy choice. And popcorn made with oil or butter is also not a healthy snack. The great thing about a popper such as this is that it works completely by air and there is no added fat.

I had an air popper for about 4 years. I would use it nightly. I use Orville Redenbacher kernels and I loved the fresh popped popcorn with just some salt but my machine would pop unpopped kernels out while it slowly filled my bowl. Luckily the machine went dead on me for I had to purchase a new one and I chose this one. I am speechless with how amazing it works. I use half the kernels I used to with my old popper to get even more popcorn. I followed some of the suggestions here and run it a couple of minutes to warm up, then I unplug it and add the kernels then plugging it in again. I leave the measuring cup off till the first pop and then put it on. Each time I use it only one unpopped kernel goes into the bowl and then every other kernel pops big and firm. It is such a joy to not have kernels flying all over the place. I also put a towel over the machine when it is finishing for some popped kernels may fly as the bowl fills to the brim.

I have read some of the negative comments here. Some say the popcorn tastes like cardboard. That is not the fault of the machine but rather what popcorn without oil or butter tastes like. I don't think people realize just how fattening popcorn with the trimmings is. Also, cheap kernels are cheap kernels and will only pop so big no matter how good the machine works.

I loved the tase of popcorn without butter right off the bat. For some it will take time to aquire the tase. But is is an amazingly healthy and filling very lowfat snack. It is a huge addition to my diet. And this machine works fast, leaves barely none unpopped kernels and comes with a 2 year warranty. Just don't leave it unattended with young children. The removable top from which the popcorn emerges becomes very hot when in use. It is not a problem with this machine but due to the hot air going thru the chute. The directions guide you and tell you to use potholders.

This machine comes at a great price, is a high end item and works great. Highly recommend.

This popper works well with the heavier kernel varieties of popcorn, but those varieties all hulls that remain once popped. I like the "hull-less" variety (typically white popcorn) and since those kernels are lighter in weight, the Presto's hot air stream blows a lot of them right out of the popper, especially in the early part of the process. This is annoying since I believe that there are probably some simple design changes that would have prevented this.
My family makes popcorn two times per week. We have found the Whirley Pop with Peanut Oil to be the best combination for taste and minimizing extra un-popped seeds. We recently decided to explore a healthier alternative than using Peanut Oil so we converted to Oliver Oil. It works well and yields similar results. We purchased this air popper to see what it is like to eliminate the oil and found it to be terrible. It was like eating paper. Plus their were many un-popped seeds and many pieces flying out of the shoot and not landing in our oversized bowl. The air pop recommends that you melt butter to add to your popcorn. We tried it and came to the conclusion that we needed to add more butter (fat&calories) than needed when making popcorn with the Peanut or Olive oil.
Poplite Hot Air Corn Popper works great. I do plug it in to preheat it a little, unplug it, add the popcorn and plug it back in. That way you don't get unpopped kernels flying out.
WE recently bought a new corn popper through your site. Couldn't find any in the stores and ours finally died after 35 or so years. It was made in AMERICA! The new one pretty much looks like the old and performs almost as well, it is louder. The popcorn pops almost every kernal&I can use as much butter&salt as wanted. No chemicals from packaged popping corn.
Pretty much satisfied except for the noise&that Presto no longer is using Americans to build their product.
    M. LeggPresto 04820 PopLite Hot Air Corn Popper

Best hot air popper! Convenient, natural and light! Pops regular or gourmet popping corn with hot air, not oil, for a healthy, low calorie treat ! Fast! Pops up to 18 cups of gourmet corn in less than 2 1/2 minutes. Leaves virtually no un-popped kernels.
Plug in Presto’s PopLite and the party begins. In less than 2-1/2 minutes you’ll have up to 18 cups--two large bowlfuls--of fluffy popcorn with virtually no unpopped kernels. And because the machine uses hot air instead of oil, the resulting snack is healthier and lower in calories. That’s not to say you can’t add butter; in fact, the 1/2-cup measuring cup on top of the popper doubles as a butter melter. Simply put in the desired amount of margarine or butter (room temperature is best), and it melts from the heat produced during the popping process. The clear plastic cover and cup, which must stay on during popping so the popped corn doesn’t fly all over the room, easily remove for hand cleaning with warm, soapy water. No other clean-up is required. While a few unpopped kernels spring out the chute as the machine begins to heats up, the chute does a good job of directing the popped corn intoa bowl. The popper measures 14 by 9 by 6-1/2 inches, and is identical to Presto’s Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper except for color and logo. Presto covers the PopLite with a two-year warranty.--Ann Bieri

(Used it on two ocassions now. It's great)

    (Excellent Single Cherry Pitter)

    (Great Stoner!!!!)

(Makes short work of preparing cherries for toddlers)

    (Great Buy!!)
This is a whole lot better than my old cherry stoner. Nice idea to put the splash guard on it. I still do it over a big bowl though that juice gets everywhere even with the guard.
This is an excellent tool for pitting a few cherries. It works very well and stores easily. For a small job you would not find anything better. I recommend it to all.
This product works very well. I have not had any trouble with the plastic shield like a few other reviewers have. It makes easy work out of a bag of cherries. My son loves helping me as well.
My 2 year old loves cherries, but can't safely spit out the pits himself. Before, I was using a paring knife to cut open each cherry and remove the pit. This is a huge time-saver and mess-reducer. I love love love it.
I love this gadget. I have small children and while they love fresh cherries, I would hate to spend all the time pitting them by hand. This gadget makes it easy and they can enjoy. It is super easy to use and clean. Completely recommend.
The Cherry Pitter features a removable splatter shield that directs juices downward and prevents them from soiling your work area. When not in use, the splatter shield fits inside the front chamber and a lock holds the Cherry Pitter closed for convenient storage. Sturdy, die-cast zinc construction removes pits with ease, and soft, comfortable non-slip handles absorb pressure while you squeeze. The cherry holder is extra large to accommodate Bing and cherries and has a recessed cup to securely hold smaller varieties when pitting. Also try the Cherry Pitter to prepare fresh cherries for small children.

    (Almost great!)

(A nice and fun coffee or tea cup, especially at the sometimes sale price or as a gift)

    (Great product)

    (Pretty near perfect . . .)

(~ Love it ~ Smelly lid? Follow instructions, dummy!)
I love this cup with a few caveats.... First, let me say it keeps my drink warm and from spilling, and it looks good and is easy to clean. I really like it. Here are the caveats:

    1) The surface for me, for some reason, is like fingers on a chalk board. Therefore, I keep a cardboard sleeve on there (the kind you get with a real paper cup) and hold it by that.

    2) The inside of the lid get stained by the coffee, but that's really not a big deal as no one else sees that.

    3) There is a little crack on the inside near the top. It still works, but because the surface is not smooth, the coffee stains that and I can never clean it so it's white like the rest of the cup. I'm sure they would replace it for me, but I never got around to contacting them...

That's all. Despite those three points, I still use it all the time and I love it!

Received the cup as a gift and it is a fun and nice coffee or tea cup, especially at the "sale" price sometimes offered by Amazon.com. Definitely unique.

By my measurement, the cup holds about 11 oz. to the brim. In practice, I personally would not put more than 9-10 oz. in it, to avoid spills even with the lid on. Fine for those liking a full cup of coffee; a bit less for those wanting a mugful.

My lid does not leak at all (note: I tried with cold liquid; have not tried hot yet). The lid does not really have any appreciable smell to me. There might be a tiny man-made, rubber-like smell, but I only note that, if at all, when the cup is empty and I'm really trying to smell something right next to the lid; filled with coffee, I wouldn't notice anything at all (and note that I've only briefly washed the lid at this point, as I really don't notice a smell).

My cup has a faint gray tint to it, especially in comparison to the stark white lid. To my eye, while nice-looking, it doesn't pass as paper upon a detailed look (but perhaps at a glance); more like a sandblasted, smooth, rock-like material. But still nice and a conversation piece. When lifted, it has a real heft--it's rock-like.

If used outside the house or office, I personally would be concerned with inadvertently hitting the cup and breaking it, or dropping it (it's handle-free)--for me, it strictly is for inside use (not for use as a commuter mug), to be treated as considerately as a porcelain mug.

In the end and to my eye, a nice purchase for something different and unique, especially at the sometimes lower sale price. It also makes a nice gift--comes in an attractive, clear plastic box.

By the way and just for the heck of it: I experimented with using regular plastic coffee cup lids on the cup, and it's a trifle too big for a Border's small cup lid--will have to experiment with other sizes ... Also, for the fun of it, I put one of those corrugated brown cardboard bands used to protect your hand from coffee's heat around it; looks cool that way and adds to the illusion (although the bands I had were a tight fit and, as a result, rode a bit lower than they do on a paper cup; will have to try others).

This product was a father's day gift. He needed a coffee mug without a handle that would fit into the cup holder on the way into work. This worked so well. He takes it every day and tells everyone about it. Wished it held a little more coffee, but it does the job.
We love this product! It's nice to have a "go-eee" cup that we can take anywhere and it looks good, keeps our coffee hot, and is reusable. Sometimes the outside of the cup is hot to the touch, so we've found some cup sleeves to use! Overall, we're well pleased with our new cups!
I love this cup! I too was skeptical but I'm glad I bought it.
I have had no problems with staining from coffee/tea or dirt marks on the outside of the cup or on the lid.
    The lid does NOT leak.
The back of the box has instructions to clean the lid in boiling water with lemon slices. If you follow this for the first time cleaning, it will NOT smell like plastic or rubber. Therefore not interfering with the taste/smell of the beverage.
I only wish it held more liquid but that's my only complaint.

Double walled, thermal porcelain cup with silicone lid. Holds up to 10-ounce.

    (Decent but far from great)

    (Great knife!)

    (Great kitchen knife)

    (Greatest knives)

    (Great knife)
I have used this knife on a number of occasions and every time I ask myself what is the big deal? America's Test Kitchen has a very inconsistent philosophy. They rate very expensive All-Clad cookware high but rarely try to rate expensive cutlery. So when they consistently give this knife the victory in every competition, I always get a chuckle. The knife is fairly sharp and is great for a cooking school where cheap and easy to sharpen knives are required but for a personal home knife, I disagree. The fibrox handles are spongy and rubbery. I prefer finished wooden handles which has firmness that translate energy more efficiently and produces a better feel when cutting. A better wooden handle knife is more expensive but well worth it if you planing to use it everyday. This knife also has a large belly and overall a big profile which is not necessary but makes up for a lack of bolster in weight. If you want an utilitarian knife without a pleasurable experience this is for you. But if you want to get some joy out of prep work look at Shun's or others.
I bought this knife on the recommendation from America's Test Kitchen. I'm very pleased with the balance and feel of it. It's relatively lightweight for a knife of this size, but it cut's like a dream. The handle is comfortable and does not tire my hand with heavy chopping. I haven't had it very long so it's a bit early to tell how well it holds it's edge. I like it better than my very expensive Cutco knife of the same size. The price is very reasonable and the product is a very good value.
This knife has served me very well.
It's incredibly cheap but it cuts through things quite nicely.
There is no reason not to get it unless you are a high end user who likes to spend money on expensive kitchen knives.

These are the greatest knives - and price is good, too! Will probably never buy another brand again. Service was very good.
I loved the knife when I got it and still do. Wish I would have gotten sooner.
The R H Forschner by Victorinox Chef's Knife features an 8-inch blade that is 2-inches wide at the handle. High carbon, stainless steel blade is hand finished at Victorinox in Switzerland by skilled craftsmen. (Works great)

    (great for garden lettuce)

    (very poorly designed)

    (Easy to use and clean)

    (Oxo Salad Spinner)
This salad spinner is terrific; all types of greens are just perfect when they finish a good spin. I am also preparing fresh garden vegetables for freezing and the salad spinner is just the right ticket to remove the remaining water from peas and beans. This product works as stated and I love it.
I always hated trying to clean and dry garden lettuce until I purchased my salad spinner. It is wonderful! I pick the lettuce, put it in a bucket of water and soak for a few minutes, dump it out and spin it in batches. I purchased the large spinner and it is not too large to store. The small would not have worked for me. We make big salads in this house. I wish I had purchased it years ago!
This salad spinner is spins reasonably well, but the quality of the components is abysmal. In particular, the tabs one must press to separate the two top pieces are ridiculously poorly designed. I bought this salad spinner, managed to take it apart once, and then the second time I tried one of the tabs broke off. I bought it from Bed Bath&Beyond, which fortunately has a great return policy, so I just exchanged it for another. This time I knew how weak the tabs were, and so was very careful. I pressed lightly, and it would not release. Harder, would not release. Harder still, would not release. Very hard, released and broke in one movement. The margin between hard enough to release and hard enough to break is at best small and at worst non-existent.

If you never clean it in the recommended fashion (disassembling the top lid), then you might find it adequate. Otherwise, avoid this piece of cheap plastic crap.

This is actually my second salad spinner. My first salad spinner was Arcosteel Deluxe Salad Spinner. You wouldn't think getting the wrong salad spinner would make a difference, but it does. The Acrosteel with its crank was so awkward to use that I found myself wishing I had spent a little more and got this one instead. When it cracked and broke I knew this was the one I wanted. The fact that it is operated by pushing down a button make it so easy to use that it really does live up to the claim of only taking one hand. Even if I am juggling other tasks this is easy to use. It also cleans up well and if you don't have a lot of space for kitchen gadgets the basket doubles well as a strainer. This is a really nice product that is durable and works well. I own countless OXO products and this, like the others, lives up to the price and reputation.
    Oxo Good Grips Salad Spinner

I don't know why I waited so long to order this. It's absolutely wonderful.

For fun and easy salad preparation, try the OXO GOOD GRIPS Salad Spinner. Simply press the soft, non-slip knob to start the basket spinning. Easy, one-handed operation makes this Spinner a pleasure to use, and a built-in brake stops the Salad Spinner so you can unload it. A non-slip ring keeps the bowl steady on the countertop, and the basket and bowl can be used separately. Top-rack dishwasher safe
Washing and drying leafy vegetables has never been simpler or more fun than with this gadget. One hand is all you need to press the soft, cushioned knob to start the spinning; when the built-in brake is applied and the job is done, the basket and bowl can be taken apart and used separately. The knob locks down for easy storage, and the spinner is dishwasher-safe. Use this tool with lettuce, raw spinach, broad-leafed herbs, and greens--they end up clean and oh-so-dry, and the drier your leaves, the better salad dressings will adhere and the less mushy your sandwich bread will become. Puddles at the bottom of your salad bowl disappear... Good Grips products are moderately priced and have won the Tylenol/Arthritis Foundation Design Award.--Laurie Notaro

    (Only two negatives)

(It Works, And the Coffee's Good)

    (Way overrated)

    (You must buy this!)

    (Good Machine....)
A friend of mine had splurged and bought herself this coffee pot. She was showing it off to me and I thought it was pretty neat. But I was dubious about the upkeep cost (the k-cups). It is technically cheaper to get a normal coffee pot and brew from regular grounds. However, a lot of us (including myself) throw half the pot down the drain because we just don't drink that much. The solution to this, if you don't want to buy the cups, is to buy the Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter in which you can put your preferred ground beans.

By the way... kudos to the reviewer that broke down the costs for regular coffee, k-cups, and going to a coffee shop. That review is probably what tipped me over the edge of my decision making.

A couple of weeks later I was telling my husband about this coffee pot and he was impressed! Our problem has been that he wakes up so much earlier than I do (4 a.m. vs. 8 a.m.) and it is not worth it for him to brew just a cup for himself in the morning or brew an entire pot that sits there for 4 hours burning. This single cup serving is the perfect solution for him while I can continue to brew a pot for myself when I wake in the morning.

After reading the reviews of all the coffee pots and different coffees, this is what I ended up choosing as a Father's Day gift for him. I chose this one over the other Keurig models because of the 9.5 oz button that the others lack. The day it got here, he promptly brewed four different cups of coffee. I can tell I've made a great choice. We use it every day.

There are only two negatives about this product that I've found. First, unlike many appliances that are power savers in one way or another, this product is constantly on. It keeps (I'm guessing) 10 ounces of water in a warming reservoir so that when you push that brew button, it is ready to go. If you want to save on your power bill, make sure you use the on/off button or the auto on/off feature. The downside of that is that it takes 5 mins or so for the water to warm up once you turn it back on. The second negative is not one I've experienced but one I was warned about. At the bottom of the refillable reservoir is a rubber gasket that may eventually fail the more times you remove the reservoir. I've avoided this by using my retracting kitchen sink nozzle to refill it instead of removing the entire thing.

Have tried five different coffee blends in the Keurig system and find the coffee that's delivered to be hot, fresh and delicious. The convenience and lack of waste are big selling factors for me. I use my regular brewer in the morning and the Keurig for later in the day when one cup is just what I need.
If you're interested in a quick and easy cup of hot brown liquid, look no further. If you truly enjoy a good cup of coffee...keep looking. I tried all the different blends and they were all horrible.

Convenience, indeed, does have its price and I'm not prepared to sacrifice flavor for convenience. This one went back to Amazon.

This coffee maker is outstanding! Using an extra bold K-cup you can open/close the Keurig and brew a small cup using the same K-Cup if you need to water down the coffee and it also fills up any extra large mug you may have. Keurig also has an offer were you can purchase two boxes of K-cups and get 2 free (plus free shipping!). While I still use my regular coffee maker during the week I use the Keurig for an extra kick in the evening or on special occasions.
Overall I'm pleased with this machine. It has a number of features that have a practical use and not just gee whiz junk that you set once and never change. Its EASY to setup and operate and works well. Its very convienient to make 1 cup of coffee with no muss or fuss but don't throw out the 12 cup coffeemaker for when company's over. I also like being able to have a cup of hot water instantly for tea etc. The K-cups are somewhat expensive but if you don't mind paying a few cents more for speed, convienience, and a good, consistant cup of coffee then this machine is for you. Enjoy.....

(So easy to use and clean!)

    (Juice leakes into motor housing)

    (Not as expected)

    (Wonderful UNTIL you juice BERRIES)

(Fabulous! You'll be happy with it.)
I have had this juicer for a few months now and really have no complaints. I've been juicing multiple times a week and usually do veggies and leafy greens. I haven't juiced much fruit yet, but don't anticipate any problems. This machine is very powerful, very efficient and very easy to clean. The only complaint I have, and it's a very small one, is that the juice spout doesn't flip up to avoid dripping on the counter when you've pulled the pitcher out to pour into another container. Not a big deal though. Overall I love this machine!
We bought my Breville BJE200XL Juice Fountain from Amazon.com and received it in April 2009. We started using it right away. The fruit juice was great. We noticed there was a lot of fruit pieces that were left in the pulp container. We assumed that this to be right as this was our first juicer.

As we used the juicer more we noticed that there was juice on the counter and running down the outside of the motor housing under the air vent grate. Looking closer into the vent great we could see juice inside the housing and over near the motor shaft. Did not know where it was coming from but when we cleaned up after each use we noticed juice on top of the housing and under the motor drive coupling. Not sure how it gets there.

We called the Berville toll free # for help and after 3 hours we were told that we needed to wash the filter basket with bleach water 50/50. We did this but the filter basket was always very clean. The problem did not go away. Then we sent an E-mail to Berville asking them for help. Two days later they answered. They wanted the number that was stamped on the bottom of the housing. We sent it to them. Three days later they asked how the juice was getting into the motor area. I managed to get a picture through the vent grate to show the juice coating on most of the parts inside. I did not know how the juice was getting there. I sent it to them. With no reply in 4 days I sent it again. I also sent it a third time and asked for a reply. We received none.

The juice fountain instruction book say to have the motor running before putting fruit into the food chute. What a mess this makes when the juice flies out of the chute. You must keep your hand over the opening.

We never expected this problem. Now if I could sell it for 50% less I would. Customer Service is BAD.

Loud and fast, but has a serious design flaw that I don't know why I haven't read about. The gap is too large between the spinning basket and the plunger tunnel so large chunks get thrown HARD against the side of the machine. Very scary sounding. It won't juice parsley very well or herb type things because they just fit under the tunnel and don't get juiced. I don't know, this seems like it would scare anyone who heard this first into not buying it. As far as the completeness of the juicing process, the pulp sems fairly dry but with big chunks, I can see liquid still inside the pulp that I could squeeze out if I had a press. Since I can't really compare it to anything, having only had two other juicers years ago that were cheap and small, I would keep searching. I bought this based on the reviews here, but I think they are seriously skewed or I have a defective unit. Waited to long to use it so can't send it back. On the positive side, it is very easy to clean and looks pretty good. And has a large opening to fit things into.
If you like blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries, in your juices, don't buy this juicer, get the Breville Ikon. This juicer's speed is fixed and high so basically these softer fruits hit the moving grinder and bounce off without being juiced. Instead, the spinning action of the juicer causes the juice to leak profusely between the base and cover and spray juice around a 2 foot radius which makes an enormous mess. I called Breville, thinking the juicer was defective, and they actually told me it was working properly, but I was using too many berries! (I use 1 cup). Well, I promply returned the juicer and have ordered the Ikon, which has variable speeds and supposedly does much better with mushier fruits.

PRO'S: This juicer is quiet. Much quiter then the Big Mouth, which I had the opportunity to hear, because my sister has one. I seriously could never use a juicer that loud. I had to cover my ears.

Clean-up takes less then 5 minutes!

It easily juices carrots, cabbage, apples, pears, asparagus, citrus, broccoli, beets, pineapple, strawberries, etc.... JUST NOT BERRIES or GRAPES without a huge mess. If you have light countertops, you will have some serious stains.

The shoot is big enough to fit a whole apple in if you use organic (which you should do, as the pesticides penetrate apples 1/4").

The pulp is very dry EXCEPT if you use berries, and then you will have to run the pulp through a minimum of 3 times to get the juice out of it and you will have to clean the screen each time as well because the blueberry skins instantly clog it.

The machine seems to be very well made and quite sturdy. I give it 5 stars for quality but can't quite get past the engineering flaw that allows the machine to cover you with blueberry juice. Certainly I am not the only person who uses berries in their juices!

I have not recieved the Breville Ikon yet, but am anxious to try it. The reviewers stated that it did a good job with mushier fruit because of the speed control feature (which makes sense). I plan on reviewing it after giving it a test run.

I love this juicer! And I thank all the good people who took the time to write such in depth reviews. I read a lot of reviews, pages of happy people, and they convinced me that this was the machine for me. The only thing I will add, is to say I'm a bit challenged when it comes to mechanical stuff, so I was really looking for something super easy to use, powerful enough to juice a lot of veggies, and easy to clean. This juicer is ALL that everyone has written about. Thank-you to the thoughtful reviewers. And to you, the potential buyer, read a few reviews and discover for yourself whether this is the juicer for you.

The Breville Juice Fountain Compact has a patented 3 inch centered feed tube which juices whole fruit without cutting. The easy clean central pulp container juices 1.5 quarts before it needs to be emptied. With a 750 watt motor it has a heavy duty performance. It also has a unique Cyclonic Juicing System which operates at 14,000 RPM to maximize extraction.
