(They work... But are not of a great quality)
(AWESOME PRODUCT!)
(Rachael Ray Cookware - Good as it Gets)
(Will definatly recommend) This is a gift for my daughter who has a few of Ray's pans and loves them, begged me for the set for Christmas. The only thing neither of us like is the 'signature color orange handles). I really priced these every where and this was the best bottom line price plus free shipping and no tax. One of the most important things you have to deal with when buying pots and pans is quality. I've used the Rachael Ray sets before, and I've got to be honest, they're not so good. The pieces are incredibly light, which, if you cook very much, you'll know is not a good thing. The thinness of the pots and pans unfortunately supports uneven heat. The price may appear nice as well, but it's just another sign you should steer clear of these. If you're looking for a nice set of cookware, go down to your local Linens-N-Things (many of them are closing down, so you can get a great deal on them), pick up some of the Rachael Ray pots and pans on display, then lift up some Emerilware equipment. Those are truly the best (still affordable for most) sets of cookware I've ever had. They have a nice thick bottom that supports even heat distribution, and they're very durable.
Overall, the Rachael Ray cookware set isn't worth it when you can get a much higher quality, longer-lasting set for just a bit more money. I would recommend this product to everyone! The cookware cleans easily and you definitely get what you pay for. I am very pleased with Rachel Ray cookware. It is sturdy, heats evenly, and everything it claims to be. This product is absolutly wonderful. Love the color and design, its great for quick heating and even cooking with no hotspots and its easy to clean. Give your kitchen a Rachael Ray makeover! Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Cookware Set, Black Like her dynamic cutlery, Rachael Ray cookware first enchants the eye before you even realize how well you can cook with it. The handsome charcoal-gray, hard-anodized pots and pans feature shiny stainless-steel handles wrapped with neon-orange silicone grips that practically glow with the kinetic energy of this celebrity chef. It'll come as no surprise that orange is Ray's favorite color. A smile is practically guaranteed each time you pull one of these pans out of the cupboard or see them hanging by your stove. As for cooking, hard-anodized aluminum heats quickly and evenly, resists scratching, and is incredibly durable. The interior nonstick finish allows food to slide right off. You're good to go with this 10-piece set of commonly-used cookware. Included are 1-1/2- and 3-quart covered saucepans; 8- and 10-inch open French skillets; a 6-quart covered stockpot for big batches of pasta and chili; and a 3-quart/10-inch covered sauté pan. The glass lids let you monitor cooking without losing steam or nutrients, and feature stainless-steel rims and handle with those same neon-orange silicone grips. Every piece is oven-safe to 400 degrees F, so you can start a dish on the stovetop and finish it with a hot bake-through. For thebest care, washing the nonstick cookware by hand is recommended. (Magic Bullet)
(Exactly what was promised)
(Good at what it does)
(So much hype....) I got this as a wedding gift, it sat in the box for the first year. It is very useful as several people have mentioned for smoothies and things of that nature. I've used it to grind spices as well and did a very good job. I don't give this product 5 stars because well, it's not a blender - I don't want to make individual margaritas if I have friends over or make the same smoothie three times so that everyone can have one. I am not sure if they make an attachement that would allow for larger batches to be made but that would take this review from 4 stars to 5. I love the unit for its convience, but it would have been nice to just buy the unit and maybe one cup if I had the option, all the other things will get lost in my attic. The one improvement would be more power, while mixing my shakes with as little as one banana the unit slows down, so more power is what I miss. I would buy another, but less gadgets, put one out for the runner who is in a hurry and only needs minimum. We purchased this item over a month ago and I have been very satisfied with its service thus far. Read the manual (like you should for almost all appliances that you purchase) and it will do the trick.
A lot of people have given this item a bad review. I can understand that, especially if you are expecting a blender that will do everything but cook the meal for you. If you really want something that will juice, grind, and do heavy-duty work, buy the $400 VitaMix.
The Magic Bullet doesn't promise that you can grind bones, light bulbs, or tennis balls, but it does make great smoothies and sauces and it's very convenient! I bought this blender with the intention of making smoothies and protein shakes for before and after the gym. I am a college student, and as such I don't have much room of my own around my apartment. The Magic Bullet takes up very little counter space, and the cups are easily stacked if you put them upside down&on top of each other. Blending together a peanut butter banana protein shake takes about 15 seconds to blend, and roughly 3 minutes to prepare. The one minor hassle about this is that you usually have to precut/shape some ingredients (I.E. cut bananas, crush ice) to fit them in the cup, but realistically that usually takes less than a minute of time. Cleanup doesn't take too long either; I usually fill the cup I just used with water, microwave it for a couple minutes, then add some soap and blend it again. It gets rid of all the bad-stuff on the blade and the cup. Occasionally peanut butter will stick to the cup, however this is easily removed with a scrub or two. Cleanup usually takes about 3 minutes, so you can be in and out of the kitchen with your smoothie/shake in about 5-6 minutes if you go at a decent pace; which is a huge time saver compared to a regular blender.
To sum things up, I believe this is a great blender for making drinks-- but anything beyond that might become a bit obnoxious. I can't tell you how long I've wanted one of these "Magic Bullet" machines, and finally I was given one for my house warming party. It was only the basic set, with 3 glasses. Well, today was the third time I used the machine and have had no problems until today. I made a hot coffee/bailey's/hot chocolate mixture poured it all in, sealed it tight, double checked. I went to use it and the whole mixture exploded and got everywhere, including me. The coffee burned my chest and wrist!
It was then, that I realized that this little machine was not all it's cracked up too be. With a regular blender the whole contents are not fighting against gravity and you have more control. The mixture inside a "Magic Bullet" is upside down, and it so easily can all pour out!! It may have been my fault that I did not seal it tight enough, but even double checking to make sure nothing was leaking was still not sufficient enough.
So this "Magic Bullet" isn't FOOLPROOF! I may be a fool, but I sure am not foolish enough to use this thing again...in the garbage it goes!

(Mediocre Coffee)
(Good variety and good price.)
(as good as Melitta One to One pods) I am the only coffee drinker in the house and this coffee maker and coffee works great for me. I love the French Vanilla and the Hazelnut. Best coffee ever! All four of these flavours are rich but have a less harsh finish than the Senseo Dark roast. More importantly - they work right 99% of the time in the Seseo coffee maker. I tried several third party pods, and although their coffee may have been fine, those pods did not work consistently in the Senseo. Small differences in the amount of coffee per pod can cause the seal of the bag in the brewing chanber to be better or worse and when it is wrong the coffee bypasses the pod and you get dishwater. To avoid this I stay with the Senseo pods now. While I like the brewing system. I found the coffee selection available to be quite questionable - and almost horrid. I would not recommend the coffee to an an expert. Perhaps if folgers is your idea of a great cup of coffee, then this will meet your expectations. You offer this variety pack of coffee pods at a very good price. This pack gave me a chance to sample 4 flavors. Good deal! The Senseo coffee pods are nice and strong, and fit into other manufacturers' coffee makers, such as the Melitta One on One. It prepares for you a nice full bodied coffee, with no waste and easy clean up. Rerations < Senseo Douwe Egberts Coffee Pods, Variety Pack, 16-Count Packages (Pack of 4) >

(Great scale but....)
(Accurate and Easy to Use)
(digital kitchen scale)
(Durable and functional) I purchased a black scale: Escali Primo Digital scale, 11Lb 5 Kg, 1 ea but any color would be a great choice if you need a super easy, fast reading scale for home use. It has a tare function (to subtract off the weight of a dish or container for example) so you can rapidly weigh what you need. Although likely used by most folks for food or postage, I needed this to weigh my pet birds! I just put a food dish with treats on the scale, tare it, and the little bird will sit there for the 2 seconds it takes to get their weight measured (grams or ounces). This is a very easy to use scale. It is a very good basic scale that can handle up to 5KG. The weight platform is not removable, so beware of water getting underneath the plateform. That would be my only concern. I just decided to test the scales accuracy. I placed my wrist watch on it and then went to work and placed my watch on a scientific (accurate to the 4th decimal) laboratory scale. The Home scale read 140 grams the lab scale read 140.2 grams. That's more good enough for me!
In terms of use I found the scale to be extremely intuitive and easy to use. It runs on two AA batteries and has an automatic shutoff that clicks in after 4 minutes.
All in all well worth the price. I absolutely love this little item. It doesn't take up much space. It goes off automatically after a few minutes. It seems to be very accurate. It makes dividing my homemade bread dough a whole lot easier. I love the fact that it will calculate using any container to hold the ingredients in with a press of the button and give me the weight of the food only. Very glad I purchased it. I have purchased this scale a year ago, but hadn't used it much until I started taking a baking class a few months ago. Due to its sturdy design without glass components, the scale is easy to transport, and I don't worry about spilling any of the ingredients on it, because it's easy to clean.
The functions are easy to use, and it's fast to tare, or switch from ounces to grams. Overall, great quality product for a very reasonable price. The Primo Digital Scale lets you make the exact measurements you need for your recipes. It's economically priced, and with its two-button operation it's very easy to use. The gorgeous color brightens up any kitchen or office. Powered by two AA batteries (incl.) (Terrible product.)
(love it!)
(crunchiliciously good!)
(Great air-popper) I read the reviews on Amazon before I purchased this popper. Initially I got the impression the popcorn would be dry, so I first bought the "Stir-Crazy" unit. It works well, but requires oil and is a "pain" to clean. I wanted to try healthy popcorn, so I purchased the air popper. Just follow the directions and it will make good popcorn each time. On the first batch of popcorn, use less than a half a cup of popocorn. It will be warm for the second batch and can handle a little more than a half a cup of popcorn.
After I use it for a while, I caught on that I could put a wedge under the front edge to tilt it back to keep the popcorn in the unit and use a full cup of popcorn. The unit will fill up, so you need a weight, like a small book on top of the unit.
The unit is very good, easy to use and makes very healthy popcorn. Do not melt butter or anything else to feef it easy to clean. For the price, you can't go wrong with this popcorn unit. Pros - Automatically feeds the dog, who's able to scavenge popcorn this thing throws everywhere but the bowl. - Some popcorn is edible and actually finds its way into the awaiting bowl.
Cons 1- Popcorn goes Everywhere floor, counter, sink, face of bystanders. 2- Many Raw kernels ejected prior to popping. 3- Yellow lid is flimsy, and does not attach securely to base. 4- Popped corn frequently 'logjams', throwing the flimsy lid off and causing popcorn fountains (much to the delight of the aforementioned dog) 5- Butter melting lid/bowl is useless. 6- No off switch, so you constantly have to reach over counters and behind other counter-top appliances to plug/unplug this. 7- Popcorn picks up a plastic taste. I do not believe they used a plastic that is up to the temperatures this thing reaches. I love this machine! runs clean,no oil, very economical-even pops every kernal of store brand popcorn nice and fluffy as premium brands! saved me lots of time and aggrevation while making carmel corn for Halloween! the presto poplite hot air popper is wonderfully simple to use -- it doesn't even have an off/on switch: just plug it in&within minutes, you'll have warm, greaseless popcorn. it's also super affordable. my previous hot air popper, approx 10 years old, always seemed to leave many unpopped kernels in the bottom of the machine,&towards the end, occasional sparks would fly when i initially plugged it in. the presto does a wonderful job&i highly recommend it if you're a popcorn aficionado This product does what it says it does. I think it pops the corn faster than a microwave, and much more fun because you can watch! Only one warning: don't put more than 1/2 cup of un-popped corn in at a time. Heats popcorn using hot air for dry, healthy and delicious popcorn / As Seen On TV Plug in Presto’s PopLite and the party begins. In less than 2-1/2 minutes you’ll have up to 18 cups--two large bowlfuls--of fluffy popcorn with virtually no unpopped kernels. And because the machine uses hot air instead of oil, the resulting snack is healthier and lower in calories. That’s not to say you can’t add butter; in fact, the 1/2-cup measuring cup on top of the popper doubles as a butter melter. Simply put in the desired amount of margarine or butter (room temperature is best), and it melts from the heat produced during the popping process. The clear plastic cover and cup, which must stay on during popping so the popped corn doesn’t fly all over the room, easily remove for hand cleaning with warm, soapy water. No other clean-up is required. While a few unpopped kernels spring out the chute as the machine begins to heats up, the chute does a good job of directing the popped corn intoa bowl. The popper measures 14 by 9 by 6-1/2 inches, and is identical to Presto’s Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper except for color and logo. (Not a lasting product)
(A Must-Have Appliance for Serious Cooks)
(So far, so good!) This was a wedding gift so I cannot actually rate the product. I can only assume it is a good product. However, I was disappointed that I ordered it gift wrapped as a wedding gift with a card and it arrived sans wrapping or card. I got my KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart mixer for Christmas almost 4 years ago. It is the best investment our family has ever made. I make bread dough in it 2-3 times a week. Up until a year ago, I was also using it that often to mill flour for the bread. I've used (with great success) the pasta and meat grinding tools that can be purchased separately. I'll be getting a Pro 600 for Christmas this year and passing this one on to a friend. Why? My family of six goes through bread too fast and I need a bigger mixing bowl! I'm a Suzie-Homemaker type as well as a very frugal shopper, and this mixer helps me be both! I have easily made back the money I spent on it by not having to buy bread, whipped cream, cake mixes, or many processed foods from the store. The friend who will be receiving my Artisan asked me if the mixer helps shorten my time in the kitchen. I had to be honest and tell her, "No, because now I cook and bake more. But it does make that time much more enjoyable!" My only regret is that I didn't have Santa bring me the bigger mixer 4 years ago!
I had one of these for 4+ years and it started to give me trouble after 2 years of use. First the head got stuck and wouldn't lift. After struggling with it for a while, I finally could lift it but then when put down, the head was lower than before and the paddle would touch the wall of the bowl - I had to use my hand to hold it up during the mixing process. Very frustrating! If you still prefer buying a KitchenAid mixer, I would suggest getting the kind that lifts the mixing bowl instead of the mixing head. This Artisan KitchenAid stand mixer replaces an older, less powerful (250 watts) KitchenAid that I bought twenty-two years ago and that finally was beginning to show its age. Like most serious cooks, I can't imagine cooking or baking without a KitchenAid.
So what's so great about this mixer? Well, for starters, it handles all mixing jobs, from small to large, from delicate to tough. The orbital mixing action ensures that ingredients are mixed efficiently, in less time than required by hand mixers. Read the instructions for correct speeds because recipes that say "beat at medium speed" do not refer to this mixer's mid-range; "four" is the medium setting out of ten. Users should also read the instruction for any attachments they may be using since they aren't intuitive. For example, my new ice cream attachment (KitchenAid KICA0WH Ice Cream Maker Attachment) needs to be set at the lowest setting ("stir") instead of the "six" I expected.
The brand is known for its durability, reliability, and versatility. Any appliance that lasts for over twenty years with only minimal signs of age offers real value. The motor on my old mixer was tough -- and I expect this one to be even tougher given the power. I have never taxed the motor enough to engage a shut down -- and this comes from someone who has burned out no less than three handheld mixer motors.
Besides the extra power, the Art |
