(Perfect soft eggs every time) 『It is rather small and won't take more space on your counter than a big coffee mug. Just put cold tap water (they even made a water level line, so you do not need to measure), place into the cooker metal tray, close the cooker, and place into microwave. I use Sanyo EM-S2588W 2/3-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven, White at high settings, so it is 800 watt, and large eggs right out of refrigerator. In 7 minutes I have perfectly cooked soft boiled eggs: hard whites and liquid yolks. Frankly, I've never cooked soft boiled eggs as perfect as this little baby does.』
(Diminishing returns... back to stove boiling) 『My first 2 batches were too soft, but I eventually found the perfect time for my Microwave (GE 1.4CF 1100W) to be 7min. I got about 8-10 perfect batches from it, and then the egg cracking started. One guaranteed cracked egg for every batch of 4. Not a pretty sight. Also the grey egg plate has lost some of its coating and blackened at the contact points with the eggs; I'm not sure if this is causing the eggs to overheat and crack.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
Pros: 1. Cheap 2. Worked perfect for 8-10 batches
Cons: 1. Eggs crack consistently now - cracked eggs smell and fume even while the cooker is in the microwave and are not a pretty sight when removed 2. Produces a lot of heat and steam; totally fogs up my microwave door. I worry about screwing up my microwave oven. 3. Very hot and needs to be handled with care, and given time to cool. With the time it takes to cool, don mitts, clean, etc. I wonder if you're actually saving a whole lot of time.
I've never had trouble boiling eggs with a pan on the stove, except for the time it took, so now I'm back to doing that. At least no cracked eggs or other surprises. I also discovered I could boil the entire dozen at once and leave them in the fridge with their shells on, and just thaw them out when I need them. This is working great; wonder why I didn't think of this before.』

(Soiree didn't fit my wine bottles) 『First off, I may have just gotten a bad one. Here's my experience with the Soiree. Opened the item just before a dinner party and it didn't fit the first bottle of VA wine. Tried jamming and twisting it in for minutes without luck. Had others try with the same result. Looked at the directions to make sure we were doing things correctly and we were. The directions even said "if it doesn't fit, try it on another bottle." Tried it on two CA wines I always drink and the same thing happened. I then went to the Amazon site to look at the picture to see if anything was different. There was a difference, the rubber fitting on mine was about 1/8" higher and I couldn't budge it. I later found out it was glued or had fused onto the glass and would not come off as I tried to pull, peel, and even put soap on it to get it off. It comes with two rubber fittings, one for most and a larger one for screw top bottles so I know the first one wasn't suppose to be stuck on the unit. I ended up pushing the Soiree on top of a bottle with one hand and flipping the bottle with the other hand to see if it would really aerate the wine. I did notice a slight difference but in the end I was so frustrated with it that I used my old stainless steel aerator and decanter. This unit was sent back. Might try the Vinturi next, at least I know there won't be fitting issues.
Pros: Much better looking in person than in the pictures. Beautiful hand blown glass. If you get it to fit, it should aerate well.

(Kick-*** Garlic Press) 『This garlic press was given to me as a gift and I wish that I'd thought to spend the extra money on a good quality one years ago. I happen to know that my friend paid quite a bit more for this item, so this amazon price is pretty good. Every few years my run-of-the-mill cheapo versions would break at the connecting point. I'd have to go out and search for another one with thick handles because I have arthritis in my hands and need thick grips to be able to use it comfortably.
This is definitely a KICK-*** garlic press. It's the best one I've ever owned and it's jumped to the top of my list of favorite kitchen items. I LOVE IT. It also happens to look rather elegant.
Not only does it press the garlic clove completely flat -- with ease!, even for a weak-handed arthritic like me! -- but you just have to flip it open and scrape the thin film of garlic skin into the compost pail with a nice flat knife blade. Dead easy. And when you wash it, the high quality metal does not grab little threads of garlic and hold onto them, the way the cheapo ones do. I haven't had to use a brush on it yet, though I have been giving it a quick rinse as soon as I scrape out the garlic skin.

We've been very happy with them, especially the hollow-edged santoku. Unlike some of the other reviewers we haven't had any problems with rust; when the knives are washed and dried promptly, it's really not an issue. The only caveats we have are that the handles are a little light (but you get used to that, and the quality of the blade is what matters) and that the steak knives are not that useful, partly because they're not serrated, mostly because we don't eat steak. I could also wish for another paring knife, but that's a very minor complaint. 4-5 stars - I'd've done 4 1/2 if I could.』

This thing does exactly what I bought it for and my buddy seems to like it better than his Sharpstone (which I personally witnessed lose three prongs in one grind). The only downside is that it does not have a very high lip to contain after grinding. I'm not sure if every ChromCrusher is exactly the same but mine could have used a little more capacity. Takes a lot of turning which can get old, but usually your about to have some fun, so you can get over that.』

Though there are two downfalls, the screen is very tight not allowing for much keef to fall through. In addition the screen is set rather high in its chamber so you have to be careful and hold it straight up when unscrewing it in order not to loose your bud. Its clearly worth the money but the screen sucks.』
