(Perfect for Hot Lunch in Winter) 『I bought this thermos specifically for hot soup or pasta lunches for the winter and I am very pleased. The directions that come with the thermos suggest you fill it with hot tap water but I second the recommendation that you fill the thermos with boiling water instead for about ten minutes. I usually eat lunch about 4 1/2 hour to 5 hours after I pack it, and whether it's soup or pasta, my lunch is steaming hot. I was actually surprised at how hot the pasta was. The thermos would be easier to eat out of if it had been a bit shorter and wider, but portability-wise, it fits compactly into the bag I usually carry to work. I haven't had any issues at all with spillage or leakage, and it seems very sturdy overall.
The telescoping spoon that comes with the thermos is kinda hit-or-miss: I prefer to bring along an extra plastic spoon.』

(Works Well) 『I have had this grinder for about a week and so far I am very pleased with it. This is my first burr grinder, before that I had the usual blade grinder, and I am happy to report that I much prefer this way of grinding. The coffee grind is obviously much more consistent, and the precise control of grind size makes it much easier to grind for my various coffee makers (drip and french press).
It is quite easy to clean and I have not found static to be a problem, so long as you give the side of the machine a few pats after running it (as the instructions say.) The only annoyance with mine is that the grind collector tends to want to move out as the machine runs, just a little bit. However, all of the grinds still find there way into the chamber and there is no mess as a result.
I am still trying to figure out exactly the right setting for the timer to not grind too much or too little, but once I figure all of that out I'm going to be even more happy with this purchase.』

I recenlty moved up from a blade grinder to this burr grinder. I chose the Capresso Infinity #565, beacause of all of the reviews from here as well as several other websites. The difference in flavor in my morning brew was astounding. Anyone thinking about taking the plunge, I would highly encourage them to so, without any hesitation. I also considered the Maestro Solis Plus and the Kitchenaid brand of burr grinders. The reason I chose the Capresso was primarily because of price - I got a great deal from Amazon - got the #565 for about the same price as I found #560 everywhere else -$100, and this being my first foray into the burr grinder world, I didn't want to go "crazy". the biggest issue I have had thus far is cleaning, thankfully, I found a post that helped me alleviate some of the mess associated with cleaning this unit. The main issue centers around the fact that there is always some residue left over after each grind - which leads to the stale grounds pushed out into the next batch. I now tilt the grinder forward after all of the beans have passed through the hopper and gently tap all the sides of the outer surface - this pushes all of the residual in to the collector and leaves very little behind. In either case, I am very please with the Capresso Infinity and recommend it to anyone moving up from a blade style grinder.』
(Returned it) 『I've been researching moderate (less than $750) espresso outfits. You know, more than a steam pot but still moderately priced. From what I've read the burr grinder is as important (some claim more important) than the espresso machine. Even still I tried the Capresso Infinity due to it's low price but returned it a couple days later. Here's why: - Plastic, meaning static cling meaning messy. - Grind left over, as others have pointed out (I should have listened). I tried bumping and tilting the grinder as suggested here but the grinder just didn't feel like it would take the added abuse very long.
I'm talking about the black plastic model, not the stainless steel model so I don't know if it would be tougher. Thats also the reason for the lower prices sometimes found in stores - the pans are knockoffs. If the label on your pan does NOT say "Made in the USA" you did NOT get real Graniteware! (Also, REAL Granite Ware covered roasters have "USA" embossed under the handle of the lid.) So try to get the real American Granite Ware - it will not disappoint you!

I'd been in the market for a new one for a while, but when my last blender burned out (it was only two years old), and I discovered that I was going to have to start making special "soup" for my sick ferrets on a regular basis, I decided the time was NOW.
After perusing various reviews, looking at floor models in several stores, I decided on the Beehive. Took it home, made a couple of banana smoothies (milk, banana, fresh berries, a little ice for thickness). Worked great. Mixed up a batch of "soup" for the ferts (boiled chicken (NO BONES), some ground-up vitamin supplements, cooked chopped chicken livers&gizzards&hearts, some chopped raw beef liver, a little pumpkin, a little banana -- nothing rough, mind you, and all was rosy. A week later, the stupid thing stopped locking the jar into place . I removed the jar, took the entire unit apart, and found that the jar collar (the part that holds the blades and gasket in place) was cracked. Not just a hairline crack, but a travelling, meandering, enormous crack that wandered around 2/3 the circumference.
I took the thing back to Target along with my receipt. The clerk gave me some bizarre song-and-dance about Target "not taking back used merchandise" (?!?!?) even with receipt (mind you, not only did I have the receipt; it wasn't even a month old at this point). I knew her explanation was nonsense, but sinnce I really liked the blender and they didn't have any others in stock at the moment, I accepted her idea and took the plastic collar off the floor model. Much less hassle for everyone, right?
Went home and used the thing to make, oh, maybe four more smoothies over the next two weeks. Made another batch of ferret "Duck Soup". No problem.
I made two more smoothies about two weeks later, and again, the machine started stumbling across the countertop. Took it apart and lo and behold -- an even BIGGER crack in this collar.
I took everything, including original receipt, back to Target and flat-out told the snotty clerk (a different one) that I was not going to play the "we can't take used returns" nonsense, and to REFUND MY MONEY. I wasn't hostile, but I was firm. Glaring the entire time, this one refunded my money.
Now I have to find yet another blender -- hopefully one that DOESN'T have a cheap piece of crapola PLASTIC jar collar. Problem is, I haven't yet seen any description of "collars" for any model, so again, it'll be hit-or-miss unless I go look at floor models again.』

(Powerful but could use a slower speed setting) 『I bought this blender after my wife broke the glass of the previous one. The oster is very powerful, and unlike my previous blender you'd better not forget to close the lid or you'll repaint your ceiling guaranteed! The single speed is actually the one issue I have with this blender - it could use a second, slower, speed setting.
The blender has no issue crushing ice, and is actually delivered with the ice crushing blade. I bought a milkshake blade with it, but didn't use it so far.
The fact that the glass container, blade and lid are machine-washable is very convenient. I'd recommend not getting any blender which isn't machine-washable as you do not want to have to clean these very sharp blades with your hand. Notice also that the blade and glass container are separable - unlike our previous blender - also a nice feature.
The blender is fairly noizy, but again, which blender isn't? There is no burnt plastic smell comming out of the oster blender, even when using it for several minutes - again an improvement over our previous blender.

I would highly recommend it, except that it's too thin for my tastes.
When making gravy, if you don't watch the pan very carefully, it will burn. This is primarily because the bottom is so thin that it doesn't distribute heat very well, so you get hotspots.
I'm also not fond of the rack handles... too close to the pan handles and liable to fall inwards when moving the pan. I've burned myself once when pulling the pan out of the oven: now I'm much more careful.
On the other hand, those two caveats aside, this is an excellent pan.』
(Smaller than I expected) 『I tried hard to pick out a roasting pan in the correct size. Unfortunately, I guessed wrong and this pan is considerably smaller than I wanted / expected. From the picture, it looked like the dimension of the actual pan would be close to the size specified. But in fact the handles stick out quite a bit and the pan is much smaller than 16 1/2 inches.
This is frustrating because I do most of my shopping online. Why aren't the actual pan dimensions given anywhere?? I can see that you need to know the overall size so you can fit the pan in your oven. But another thing you really need to know is the size of the food that will fit in there.

Other than the size limitation of an 18 lb. bird, the pan and rack are great and well designed. The roasting pan is plenty thick enough. Sure, it's not as thick as the 40 year old Revereware I inherited from my Grandmother, but what is now days that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I made gravy from the drippings right in this roasting pan and did not have any problems. If your gravy burns using this pan, it's because your temp is too high and/or you're not stirring enough. It's a good product, it holds enough coffee beans for at least 3-4 pots, and it does everything they advertised. On the other hand, it is awfully LOUD, and you may need to put some tape on the timer slide bar (it moves from the vibrations).
After a year, mine broke down! The motor started to sound wimpy and then it just wouldn't grind any longer!?
I had just poured in some new coffee, which was still frozen and the beans were shiny with oil. They didn't grind up at all, which surprised me. I actually thought that the motor had burned out.
I was so miffed that I went looking for another grinder. It turns out Cuisinart makes a pretty good $20 coffee mill, which is much quieter to use. I was impressed with it and it looks cool next to the coffee pot, which as the same elegant/clean look.
To finish my story, however, I decided to take my grinder apart, since it wasn't working. (that's just something geeks like me do... we call it "Reverse Engineering"). But, I discovered that the plastic hopper just unscrews from the base, by hand (no tools). That gives you access to the grinder wheels and the port where the coffee goes out to the bin. I found out that my grinder was just packed with fine coffee dust, because I had never thought to clean it inside. After using a toothbrush (and the brush on the end of the plastic scoop that was included), the grinder started working again.
But, I also noticed that my grinder plates are dull and now it doesn't grind as well as it used to.
My chief complaint about this kind of coffee grinder (and most of the others the are under $100 and designed for home use) is that it creates a lot of static. So the very fine coffee dust goes everywhere when you have to empty the bin. This happens on all the smaller mills that use a very fast blade.
The old iron grinders were hand driven and the beans were crushed slowly, without static.

(Great When Working, Lots Of Switch Issues) 『I've been through two of these, they seem to have some serious switch issues. The first one I had the start switch burned out within 30 days so I returned it. The second one, the timer switch burned out in about 90 days, I continued to use it it and now after 6 or 8 months, the start switch is burned out.
It's a nice design, holds plenty of beans and does a good job grinding coffee, it's really too bad the build quality isn't a little better, if it were I'd be giving this item 5 stars.』
(FAULTY DESIGN CAUSES BREAKAGE) 『This DBM-8 is larger than the usual grinder; but very attractive. I've been through at least 10 different residential grinders and can say that none come to meet the quality grind of a commercial grinder that you may find in grocery stores.
My main fault with this grinder is that I discovered (after dis-assembly) that the metal burr grinder is held in place by a cheap, plastic-threaded unit that also adjusts the grind's coarseness. I can't understand why the designers would use brittle plastic to take the abuse of grinding hard beans. Needless to say, after 20 months the plastic threads gave-way. This made one of two safety switches inoperable; and the machine was forever broken.
Cuisinart representatives were cordial, but would not send any parts or a replacement since it was 2 months past the 18 month warranty. (They also told me that the lot with this serial number was sent to Costco; I bought it at Sam's Club). I'm sure that Cuisinart is knowledgeable about the design flaw of this Chinese made appliance but chooses to ignore it. This is my last Cuisinart purchase. If you are satisfied with a residential grinder that will last a year and a half this one would be satisfactory; if you need a grinder to last longer (like my 15 year old Krups) look further.』
(A Coffee Drinkers Dream Machine) 『I purchased this grinder about 6 months ago. The reason I have not posted a review sooner is that I wanted to be sure that what I write about clearly represents the performance of the product. One of the issues I have noticed other reviewers mentioned concerned the ground coffee that seems to stick to the plastic. I realized, as any student of physics would know, that coffee reacts with plastic with static electricity. This will always be so. Therefore, judging the device on this basis is not representative of the product.
The last time I purchased a coffee grinder I was disappointed because the motor burned out too prematurely. While I realize that these motors in coffee grinders were designed to work optimally under load, I never expected that it would fizzle out in a few months.
The good news is that the Cuisinart Burr Coffee Grinder appears to perform flawlessly. I am impressed with all phases of its function, from its consistent grind to its reliability. Many coffee grinders fail to maintain the coffee collector basket in its place. I have found that this grinder maintains its integrity all the time. Whenever I press the start button, I can be assured that it will deliver the predetermined amount of freshly ground coffee, which it grinds to perfection.
Although I find the machine a little pricey, I would highly recommend it for practical use or a gift. It certainly performs consistent with a $50 machine. 』

IT DOESN'T GET MY KNIVES VERY SHARP.
I used to use rolling knife-sharpeners (can't find any more the quality ones I used to buy), and they got the blades of all my knives really sharp - "tomato sharp" is what I want. While this Furi DOES get my Wüsthof Classic 4582 Cook's knife somewhat better-than-dull (to be fair), still it feels a bit awkward to use, doesn't work well at all on my paring and smaller knives, and what sharp edge I do get doesn't last very long.

(Scratches blades) 『I tried this on several knives. It sharpened them, but left permanent scratches on all of them. This makes it worthless, unless you like to scar your blades in order to get them sharp. I received two sharpeners and both scratched blades, so I assume it is an integral design flaw.』
(Certainly not as well made as...) 『 the one you see on the Amazon page: the sharpening fingers are not as well covered with the diamond dust, the angle of the fingers curve is different, so you cannot apply any pressure on the knife, or the edge of the knife goes down past the area covered with diamonds and gouges the steel of the fingers, without sharpening anything. This is a disappointment. I will write to the Manufacturer and demand better made fingers. As to the shell, if you are over the age of 10, you should have no problems with its opening, as long as you look closely at it, and treat it with some gentleness. As usual with things you do not know how to open or take apart, do not force or cut anything until you figure out the procedure (or even, surprise, surprise!... Read The Fu*#$@&g Manual!).

It takes forever the grill shish kebabs, adana kebabs, koftes, chicken drums, eggplants, green peppers, onions etc. But if you like to grill hot dogs and thin sliced chicken breasts, you are lucky. You can do it on this as long as they are not thick. The problem I see is that it is just not hot enough. Maybe none of the electric grills is hot enough. That is why I gave up on electric grills and planning on going with gas grill when I have the enough money to purchase one.』
(Works well enough...) 『I considered giving this only 4 stars, but had to consider that it's not an outdoor grill with a cover, and it's not going to perform exactly like one. The only "issues" are that it takes about 15-20 minutes to heat up to full heat, and it takes a bit longer to cook most things. Again the main reason is because it is an indoor grill with no cover to contain the heat. However, all things considered, the grill is PLENTY large enough, I haven't used the entire grill and I've cooked for 6 people on this thing in one go. The grill IS smokeless, the only slight smoke that appears is right when marinated meat hits it, for about 5 seconds, then no more smoke. Cleanup is is a breeze...if only I had a bigger sink though... The drip pan can be a little tricky taking it to the sink when filled with water and grease, but I grill right near my sink now so no worries anymore.
