I followed the advice of others&bought the 2 Machine Magic cookbooks by Rehberg&Conway and the cheapie elec. knife by B&D. All useful. Did I mention fab french toast made with thick slices of homemade blueberry bread? How about Jalapeno Corn Bread, Pizza,or Onion Cheese Bread? UH-OH GOTTA GO...ZO JUST BEEPED, ZUCCHINI BREAD IZ DONE ;) We purchased this bread maker for use on our boat. We are traveling in an area where one can't purchase fresh bread. The bread maker does not take up much space and is easy to use. The quick bake cycle is great. The loaf size is perfect for two people and the bread has been consistently good. We have tried several of the recipes and have not been disappointed in the results. We highly recommend this product! I have been living on my own since I was 23 (I'm 27 as of the time this review was written;). It was hard to get adjusted to having to have a full time job while still maintaining an apartment. One thing that was a little tricky was getting used to cooking for myself. Since I live alone, and live 30-45 mins away from work, I usually prepare simple things like salads and sandwiches because I didn't find a reason to make extravagant, time consuming meals for just myself and well... I am also extremely lazy lol, I am a successful young professional but lately the domestic housewife in me has been slowly coming out. However, my limited cooking skills and experience, as well as my busy life (and ok.. LAZYNESS TOO lol) were still nipping at me. Being able to bake my own bread was something that "Domestic Danielle" always wanted to do, but "Clueless Baker Danielle" showed me a flash into the future and all I saw was my kitchen covered in flour and a cage match between me and a lump of dough trying desperately to knead that thing and then having it jump on my face and start to consume me like the blob. OK.... not a pretty sight I know!! There was only one way to satisfy both of my desires, and that was a BREAD MACHINE!!! My sister has a bread machine and she loves it. When we would get together for family gatherings she would bring a loaf and it was always so delicious, and that too inspired me to start researching them. When I came across the mini Zojirushi, I knew it was love at first sight and absolutely PERFECT for me!! It makes a nice and small 1 pound loaf, which really can last you a couple days if you make small slices. It is also incredibly easy to use and the manual that comes with it is great because those recipes were made strictly for that bread machine. I also love the timer option on it! a couple times I have dumped the ingredients in either before I go to bed or before I go to work and set it so that I can have fresh bread when I wake up or when I come home from work (and waking up or coming home to that wonderful smell is ALWAYS a bonus hehe). And probably the best thing about this machine is that it does EVERYTHING for you!! It kneads and rises and bakes it all in the same cute contraption! As long as you measure everything as it is supposed to be measured then your bread will come out fine. I have made several loaves and they always come out great! The only word of warning is that you might become like me and become a bake-a-holic. Since its so easy to do and since its so cute to watch it in the machine (I love the little window on the top hehe), you might find yourself becoming bake-crazy! Lately I have been experimenting with the recipes in the book and have been baking loaves for work or baking loaves for friends and people I associate with. I am thinking about baking one for my personal trainer and her family, because I mean what says thank you for helping me attain a hot body like a gift of an adorable bread loaf lol!! Bottom line is that this is a great product that makes great bread! I am THE bread winner and this bread machine is a winner too!! Its just win-win all around!! I were looking for a toy to make home made breakfast. I am so glad that I pick this bread machine over other bread machine, and over a waffer maker. This is small enough that I can keep it on the counter all the time. Thus, I will use it more offen. The size is just right for a small family (2 adults + 2 kids). I made 6 loft of bread in the first 2 weeks. Everyone turns out good. I am going to try all the receipts come with the machine. This little machine is amazing. All I have to do is set it and forget it and it turns out one perfect little loaf after another, just right for the two of us. When I first received it I thought it wasn't working because it was so quiet. So you really can set it up the night before and, without having your sleep disturbed, have fresh bread for breakfast. Lid lifter worked well and the peach cobbler was a hit! And of course, you can never go wrong with Lodge products. I found this tool very useful especially when you are out in the woods or at a campsite. I expected it to be made in TN like other Lodge products. It's good quality and does it's job but yet another made in china part. The Lid Lifter is a must have with any dutch oven. Makes lifting the hot lid with coals a simple and safe task. I recommend for outdoor cooking enthusiast everywhere. Worked very well if you aren't using a tripod. The tripod makes it a little dificult to get the lid lifter secure on the lid. This is an essential tool when cooking in a camp Dutch oven. The "T" bar design adds leverage and comes in handy when lifting the lid or moving Dutch ovens from fire to table. I am admittedly a beginner at making jams so I don't have much experience to go by, but these items made the process so easy! The value for the price is great! I was very happy to have the wide mouth funnel when spooning out 16 jars of strawberry jam and the tightener thingy, (is that the technical term?) worked well with the hot jars. I even had no trouble with the magnetic lid lifter and found it to be very useful as I didn't even need to touch the lids before placing them on top of the jars; thus reducing the chance of contamination. I am very happy I didn't go crazy and buy an expensive canning set as these items worked absolutely fine for me! These utensils are a godsend. Especially the one for lifting hot jars out of the water. If you are a beginning canner you might need some of these pieces. I like the jar holder and the tongs. I have also used the colander but the other items were not needed. The magnetic pieces do not work in the water where I tried to use them, and the plunger air remover wasn't needed, I just rattled the jar to remove air. It is even too big for use on my Weber Genesis Silver grill unless I leave the lid up. If you are planning on using it for one of those two make sure you understand the dimensions of the thing. Very sturdy construction, with lots of support for meats(those cross-members in the middle are welded to the top layer, so you have six support rods elevated almost an inch to let the fats drip down and not touch the ribs. Finish is baked-on enamel. Poor packaging - it is shipped in thin polybag. Do not order this along with cast iron "stuff" or the rack WILL get scratched (ask me how do I know :( ) Like any sturdy convoluted thing, will be a bear to clean unless soaked in the DEEP sink with nylon brush. Personally, I'll run it through the dishwasher. Then, again, just like a grilling rack it does not have to be spotless :) Five stars for the rack, one star for the packaging except that I do not know whether Amazon repackaged the item. title says it all. i never even took the cardboard off it. wish I had tried it out as soon as I received it so I could return it. I got one from Lowes for under ten bucks that worked all fine. if anything check the dimensions well beforehand, or test it for fit as soon as you receive it. if you're using it on a grill, that's probably fine, but then, that's not barbecue. if you're using it on a vertical or an egg, you're probably fine (and I'm jealous of your egg :) This rack is built really tough. It's a very nice rack and I believe it will do the job it is intended for, but the rack was too big for my grill, so I can't use it. I will give it to a lucky person!!! I would recommend it to anyone wanting a really nice rib cooking rack. Hard to use in a small oven (barely any room for a drip pan) and hard to put BBQ sauce on while in the rack. Very hard to clean even though it is non-stick. Ran it through the dishwasher twice and there is still with stuff still on there - gave up. If you like ribs, you'll love this mammoth rib rack. WOW) (GREAT DEHYDRATOR) I used the dehydrator one time for various peppers and I thought it worked pretty good. A week later I went to dehydrate my next round of peppers and the trays didn't seem to align right. Upon further inspection I found that all of the trays were warped, especially around the outer ring where the air is circulated. So much so that air couldn't circulate. They unit was useless after the first use. I returned it and will am looking for another manufacture with a higher quality product. The dehydrator makes very good jerky. I made jerky out of 3 pounds of ground meat in 5.5 hours. In July I plan to use it to dry figs. When the weather is warmer, I will have to do my drying outside or in my shed due to the heat the dehydrator produces. The experience I have after the very short time I have had this machine is excellent. Since we have recieved this, it has been used multiple times. It does a great job, and I am planning on using this on a regular basis. Getting serious about dehydrating ? This is a WOW product. It does what it claims, and fast. I also purchased several extra drying trays. (Probably will buy more next fall.) When those fruits and vegetables are freshly picked, you need lots of space to dry everything at once, and this dehydrator can be expanded to hold a great deal. Cleanup is also easy. Just soak the trays in plain, soapy water for a little while, and all food particles come off. I would recommend this product to everyone. This is an excellent dehydrator and Nesco's highest model as of a few months ago. You can do even better for a little more money by purchasing the same model dehydrator that has eight trays instead of four -->see Nesco¿FD-1018P American Harvest 1000-Watt Gardenmaster Dehydrator and Jerky Maker. If you have eight trays you can dehydrate more food at once. According to the company the 1018 is actually the 1010 but with four more trays. I love using my Nesco for dehydrating pineapple, strawberries, and bananas. I just dehydrate the fruit as is without any preservatives. Soon I plan on making beef jerky and dehydraing tomatoes when I can find the right variety. This product is a great purchase; but if you plan on dehydrating a lot, you should purchase one with more trays. You can expand this dehydrator to a maximum of 30 trays. Simply drag it slowly across the fruit or vegetable (which is a tomato anyway?) and very little effort is required. You may be surprised to discover that you sliced cleanly through several apple seeds without even noticing! Just be careful to keep your finger out of its path, because you probably wouldn't feel a thing. This is a great knife! I use it for a lot more than just cutting bread, which it does exceptionally well. It slices without crushing the loaves, especially crusty French and Italian style breads. I highly recommend this knife. I expect to buy more knives made by Victorinox now that I know how well this one works. I purchased this knife for my brother as a birthday gift and he loved it. The length and weight of the knife are good. He is usually one who loves expensive knives but he couldn't tell that this knife was probably the least expensive knife in his drawer. Absolutely think this is the best knife,always had a problem with the bottom crust and this slices right through it. I'm a very casual cook, and I absolutely love the Victorinox Break Knife. It works fabulously on baguettes, bagels, rolls, anything requiring a serrated blade. I'm especially pleased with the quality given the relatively inexpensive price. I would recommend to anyone who appreciates effortlessly slicing bagels in half. Forty years later I have been suckered again, this time for $19.99. I bought this to replace an old Pampered Chef chopper that I hated. The Slap Chop works fairly well but not as easily as Vince makes it look. He demonstrates by chopping with one finger and it just won't do that. I'm 6'4" and weigh 280 lbs and must use some force with the palm of my hand to chop through most things. When chopping onions, pieces sometimes get caught in the curve of the blades abd you must remove them. Limiting the amount of food you try to chop at one time will improve it's operation. The one really good feature is the way it pops open for cleaning. Being hard to clean was the reason I hated thee Pampered Chef model. All in all, it's a good product and works well. Vince should just give a little "wink and a nod" at the end of his demo. Making America skinny- one squish at a time! Chopper does more squishing than chopping. Anything with a peel is too much for it. Food gets caught up in the blades horribly- even migrating past the incredibly flimsy plastic protector inside. Slap that sob and it will chop and rotate. Works great on oreo cookies for ice cream. Lasted about three days before I discarded it. The mechanism for keeping the cutters rotating didn't work on about 80% of the strokes, and putting the red plastic blade guide back in place after cleaning was a real exercise in patience. If you take the time to disassemble and reassemble into account, it'd be lots faster to just take out a paring knife and get 'er done. I am a fan of KitchenAid products. I own a 5 Quart mixer (over 15 years old) now and wanted to upgrade. I used the mixer on the second day after I received it. It is GREAT!! I used the old box to storage my old one which I will pass on to my Son. Also, it is great to own a product that is made in America!!! I owned an earlier model of this mixer that suffered from the plastic gearbox housing. I believe this current model has corrected that problem. The original design lasted about 8 years, and then was damaged when my young teenager overloaded it with bread dough, causing the gear housing to crack. This new mixer looks great in the pearl nickel finish and is much quieter than the older model. These are great mixers to have in the kitchen and mine provides a lot of service kneading bread dough, for which it excels. This mixer is a real workhorse. You can use this to make many different baked goods including breads, cakes, cookies and it is large enough to make multiple batches in one bowl. Great for use with a big family.
