(Excellent and Reasonably Priced) 『I have been looking for a crepe maker for a long time now and finally found this one online. The price is what drew me to purchase the CucinaPro 1448 12 Inch Griddle and Crepe Maker. When I received this I was a little worried to open the box because it was shipped only with its original manufacturer's box and not placed in a shipping box. The box was a little beat up. However, the crepe maker was unharmed. It had styrofoam packing materials so the crepe maker was not damaged.
I was skeptical at first if it would function like the crepe makers I see in crepe restaurants, but after my first try I was really impressed. It heats up fast and it has an indicator that tells you it is ready. It does not stick and produces a well-shaped crepe approximately 12-inches in diameter. It came with an instruction booklet and basic crepe recipe. It also has a wooden crepe spreader, so you would not have to buy one. Buying separate spreader can cost you at least $15.00 so that is money you can save and use for ingredients! Furthermore, it is easy to clean and lightweight. I use it to make crepes for my family. I make breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert crepes with this one. A lot better than doing it in a pan. It's a great conversation piece whenever I am entertaining friends and family. When we first got our keurig we had a bunch of different varieties and we were able to load this thing up so that we could easily browse. Now we have our favorites and it is so nice to be able to keep it out on the counter without having to take up counter space with the boxes of k-cups. Now the boxes are all organized back in the pantry and my favorite varieties are featured in this little holder. It has a small footprint and it's 2 sided and spins easily. My husband and i like very different varieties so we decided we would each take a side. So we just spin it around and grab from our side.
It also turned out to be great for guests. They can very quickly see a bunch of the varieties we have and make a choice. My parents liked it so much they had to go buy one for themselves!

Unfortunately, the unit just would not vacuum enough air out of the bags. Trapped air will result in freezer burn. Plus, it made all kinds of loud noise when attemtping to vacuum. When in sealing mode, the red light would flash and more often than not would fail at sealing. I called the company. The technician could hear the noise over the phone and told me it was a faulty pump. Okay, I guess there are a certain percent that are lemons. I could have returned it to the vendor or exchanged it through the company's warranty program. Since I had the company on the phone, I chose the latter. As soon as I had a UPS tracking number on my return to give them, they shipped me a new one. The good news was they upgraded my unit to the V2460 and let me keep the rolls of plastic that came with the original. This offset my return shipping cost. I had to temporarily freeze my elk meat in zip-locks while all this was going on, and yes, it was starting to freezer burn already in spots where air was trapped. The new unit works pretty good. I got the job done, but it would be nice if the vacuum was a little stronger and able to get more trapped air out before stopping and going into sealing mode.』

(Helpful hints when using your FoodSaver) 『Excellent product! I've had a Tilia FoodSaver Vac for about 9 years (I asked for it for my birthday) and have never had a problem with it. If the person who said that one corner didn't seal will check the rubber on the lid, it may have slid to one side and isn't making contact with the bag when trying to seal it. This would make it not seal completely. No one has offered hints to make using the Tilia FoodSaver Vac more economical or practical so here are some suggestions: (1) When making a bag, if the meat(as an example) is a steak 8 inches long, make the bag at least 12 inches long. The reason for this is that the bags can be washed and reused over and over until they're too small to use and still seal. (2) After sealing the bag, there is about an inch of waste bag material on the end you just sealed so take a felt tip marker and write on that end, what it is, the weight, and the date. When you open the bag to use the "meat", cut off the end you wrote on, wash the bag, reuse it and write on the new end when you seal it again. (3) For sanitary purposes even though I wash the bag, when I reuse it for meat, I wrap the meat in plastic wrap before putting it in the bag. (4) If you want to put liquid in a bag for sealing, put the liquid in a zip lock bag and freeze it and when it's frozen, take the contents out of the zip lock and put it in a Tilia FoodSaver Vac bag and seal it as you normally would. If you try to seal a liquid in the bag unfrozen, the vac will pull the liquid into the motor and ruin it. I hope this helps some of you.
P.S. To thaw the meat I run HOT water in the sink and immerse the bag and leave it to thaw quickly. Thinner meats like chops or some steaks thawing will take about 15 minutes and naturally thicker ones take longer. I check by trying to bend the meat (still in the bag of course). If it's totally flexible it's thawed. If you want to thaw meat that's not in a Vac Bag just take a gallon zip lock type bag, put the meat in it and start submerging the bag. Zip the bag closed all but one corner which is kept above the water line and as you submerge the bag the water pushes the air out of the bag right up through that corner. Carefully lower the bag to the zip line and seal it. Now you have a vacuumed bag. If you don't have a vac machine and want to freeze something, do the zip thing in cold water, dry the bag and put it in the freezer now you have a cheap vacuumed, sealed bag and your food will last longer with the air removed. I've been doing this for years and have never ruined meat, ever. (But I bought it only a month back)) 『I got this food processor a month back in a pretty good deal (It was my first purchase with the Amazon credit card, so I had to pay only $9.99 for the thing). The motor is pretty powerful compared to its peers and it shows in the performance as well. The knife edges demand to be handled with extreme caution as they are REALLY sharp. I have mostly used it to make onion-tomato paste (for Indian cooking) and that hardly takes 10-15 seconds. Chopping chicken pieces was also remarkable fast and even. I am yet to use the grind feature so I shall have an update on that later. The best thing about this is that its dishwasher safe which is the real time saver. On the downside, the power cord is pretty small and the jar doesn't seem to be very strong (I may be wrong though ...)』
(Exactly as advertised) 『I have never owned a small chopper but wanted one for things really too small for my large food processor. So far this fits the bill exactly. I've used it for salsa, sauces, nuts, breadcrumbs so far and I've been very pleased. It goes together well, comes apart well and cleans ups easily. Most of the time I put it in the dishwasher but occassionally if I'm using it for more than one thing during prep, I'll hand wash. No silly crevices that I can't get clean or dry by hand.
It has plenty of power to do what I need. "Chop" spins the blade in one direction and "Grind" in another allowing a thorough chop of whatever I've put in it so far. Works well for dry as well as wet ingredients.

(Great Fryer for the Price) 『 I have had several fryers of different brands and this one is definitely the better of the lot. It does take approx 20 minutes to heat the oil but once that's done it maintains and recovers temp quickly. We have been missing wings for football season (can't find a place near that has good wings) and were very happy be able to make them the way we like - this fryer's size lets us continuously put HOT wings in front of our guests (&ourselves LOL). Also worked great for our first attempt at home-made onion rings. Large capacity and quick recovery were what we wanted and this unit EXCEEDED our expectations. Several people that have been over are "grease shy" yet commented the food was not greasy (which I find is a problem when temp drop happens - so recovery time is an issue this thing handled well).

I had a burger fest on a weekend so I decided to try frying about 10 KG of fries on a Sunday. The frier worked great, but sometimes the temperature was not enough when frying 1KG at once on the 2 baskets.
After looking on how the temperature sensors are secured, I decided to try modifying the fryer. It seems that the sensors are perfectly calibrated for the temperatures on the dial. However, this sensors are attached with a metal plate directly to the heating element, so what the fryer actually reads its an average from the Oil temp and the heating element temp.
Removing the supporting plate and 2 screws that hold the sensors, allows the fryer to correctly read the Oil's Temp.
After doing this, the Presto Profry will get up to 390F as peaking point, and work at an average of 370F on the 375 on the Dial. 365 Peak and 350F average on the 350F ,and so on. The fryer will work perfectly after that. (Look at the pictures with the Thermometer @Customer Images)
I rate the fryer a 4, since this is a little design flaw, and also because it does not have an oil filtering system like other fryers. Other than that, and after the mod, this is a SUPERB Fryer for only $69.99
I higly recommend using Palm Oil, High Smoke Point Peanut Oil, Soy Oil+Palm Olein. The problem with that salad dressing is the herbs stick in most injectors. We actually broke a cheap injector trying to squeeze it too hard!
This Bayou classic injector has a needle for herb type mariandes. Kraft makes great salad dressing and on chicken and turkey it's brilliant. But it's loaded with herbs and spices. Well, fear not. The needle is so sharp I can't imagine any meat it can't penetrate and while the bigger herbs might need a bit more push or pull it works flawlessly.
On chicken breasts it slides in and is super easy to inject just the amount you want. It's built like a tank and my only complaint is that it was missing a rubber washer on one of the needles. But we don't use pure liquid marinades anyway so it's not a problem.
It's also easy to clean, just unscrew the cap and the needle. This one looks like it will last us a long time and we eat either chicken or turkey daily, so this is going to get a lot of use.
We will try it with steak tips in a couple of weeks and see how that works. But if you want to inject mariande with herbs into your meat, without them getting stuck in the needle, THIS is the unit you are looking for.』

(Superb Injector) 『This is my first and last injector. Luv the SS for ease of use. Its a little tight for the first try but you get over that real quick. The o ring on the shaft makes the pull a bit hsrd to start but donn't worry its all part of how well this injector is made. Easy to fill and inject the first time. Comes apart without a hitch for cleaning. I bought the 2oz.which is perfect for my needs. Might want to go for thr four oz. if your roast or shoulder ect. is on the big lb. size but can't see the need for myself. The needles are great and just the right size. When using the open hole make sure its fully insearted or you'll spray all over. Just a caution not a fault. Very impressed overall.』

I find that it is only really useful for liquid injection and even then, it is difficult to assemble (the parts aren't mechanically perfect) and injecting it into meat such as a chicken breast results in a lot of projectile splatter of the marinade. Hurray, salmonella on the walls and ceiling!
I'm giving it two stars (instead of one) because I hold hope that someone with greater skill could make this thing work wonders for them. For me, it's a wasted $20.』

I noticed people talking about the smells their containers picked up. I'm happy to say mine is smell free thanks to a trick a friend taught me. Place cabbage into it and let it sit over night (especially if you had something extra stinky). The cabbage absorbs the odor and the nasty smell is gone. (Don't eat the cabbage after though, it might taste a little funky.)
If you are up for a unique approach to healthier eating, than this is for you. Traditional bento style meals are best. so if you prefer huge American sized portions, you might want to reconsider.』

You can not put an entire can of soup if you want to eat just soup for lunch. The "rice" container is the largest and if you are trying to watch your carbs the food pyramid is set up backwards. You cannot put soup or liquids in any of the other containers as it will leak. The soup bowl has a screw on top whereas the other containers have plastic lids that either twist on or snap on. I wish the product review would have stated the soup container is the smallest as that was my primary purpose in buying the product.』
(Great besides absorbing smells) 『I've had this bento for about six months and use it to bring lunch with me every day. It works great and definitely encourages eating a healthy lunch. The main problem I have with it is that the plastic tends to soak up smells and stain easily. For example, my soup container has a faint orange color and smells due to eating tomato soup in it a few times. Besides that it's great though and highly recommended.』
