After 2 failures,I decided to follow the directions completely.guess what,it works better that way.
The 3rd try hooked me, It was the best yogurt I have ever eaten. I did add a little Splenda, and fruit just before eating.. So the next batch I added a plain Gelatine, and half cup of powdered milk,1 tablespoon of Vanilla, and A half cup of sugar. no kidding,this thickened to perfection.
I now have the best yogurt you can get. for me,all I have to do is add fruit or cereal and I have my meal. I love this machine.
I love this product. It takes all the guessing out of making home made yogurt. The results are tasty and healty.
While this make perfectly wonderful yogurt, you have to watch out for the exploding top of the insert. I'm assuming the pressure from the mild heat this generates to make the yogurt causes the inner container to explode (or pop it's top to be accurate).

One time I heard it go off in the middle of the night, thought someone had shot a gun outside.

So I usually put two heavy books (try Peterson's cookbooks, nice and heavy) on top while it's cooking the yogurt.
This yogurt can make one half-gallon of yogurt - this was the main reason I purchased it. I also got yogurt of consistently good quality - firm and tasts good. The temperature is not too high as some previous reviewers stated, at least judged from the good quality it produced.

We love our yogurt maker. I was too impatient to stick with using organic milk; it added a couple hours to my whole process, to heat it then cool it way down. So I've settled for using the UHT boxes, and they taste just as good, which surprised me. We've comforted ourselves knowing that even if we're not using organic, at least we're not adding any more plastic containers to the pile. Okay, the 1-Qt Boom. The only time I tried making a single quart instead of two, I was sitting out in the living room, minding my own business, when this BOOF sound came from the kitchen. The cat ran off. I had 70s flashbacks to my parent's old yogurt maker and some pressure cooker incidents I've heard about. I did not want to go into the kitchen. But after a few minutes I decided I had to do it, and when I did, it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd feared. Yogurt was NOT everywhere, but both lids had blown off, and water was splattered. I was afraid to put the lid back on tight, because the pressure seemed pretty heavy, so instead, I set the lid back on but didn't click it into place, then draped a clean dishtowel over it all. The yogurt came out fine, and I don't know what the problem was, but the subsequent double batches were normal. I'm kind of afraid to do a single batch again. We love the yogurt and maker, and I'm glad we bought it, but for those few moments, I was very afraid.

These things are great. I've pulled many pork butts with two forks in the past and it's taken time and a little pain. Bear Claws actually make the job fun and you're done in no time and if all else fails you can pretend you're Wolverine. Great purchase over-all and I highly recommend them.
These are great for picking up any large chunk of meat from the smoker or grill. I have used these to pull pork and chicken and believe me they are hands down better than a couple of forks.
If you've ever fantasized about being a bear or a velociraptor, these are just the ticket. Better than brass knuckles, they're a great low profile defensive tool.
Totally Awesome! Bought the Paws to shred meat, they are so much more! I thought they would sit in a drawer but I use them all the time as a meat lifter, bake potato turner. Great product.
I bought these hoping to make shredding of barbeque meat easier -- it's so much easier than forks (my old way) and less messy and meatier than the food processor way. I'll be using these again and again.

This is a great coffee maker for the 6 months it actually worked. I will not purchase this model or any Black&Decker model since this guy had such a short life.

One down side is that is turns off after being on for 2 hours. I thought this was a great feature when I ordered it...so I never have to worry about leaving it on by accident and leaving the house. However, there are many mornings that I make coffee very early and by the time my husband is ready for a cup, the machine has turned off. Coffee snobs would say you should make a fresh pot if it has been sitting out that long...but we aren't that fussy and wish this feature could be switched on or off to suit our needs.
We previously had another Black and Decker, and loved it. Unfortunately the seal wore out, and water began seeping on the counter.

After a good deal of research of other makers on the market in a reasonable price range - I settled on the Michael Graves, based largely on the "flavor boost" button. The coffee it made was WEAK! The flavor boost just barely made it normal. That one went back to the store.

I decided to try my luck with another Black and Decker and love it! No seal problems on this one. Timed/Programmed coffee, sneak a cup, easy fill water, and easy remove/clean coffee filter basket. This one is a great deal, will make a great cup of coffee and is not a lot of fuss!
Its a great coffee pot -- I actually bought it to brew tea in. It works great.
This is the best coffee maker to date I have purchased. It makes a perfect pot every time and does not spill a drop. I never have grounds in my coffee because the filter never curls up. My old pot would spill every time I would fill it with fresh water or pour a cup too quickly. I have yet to spill anything doing either with this fine coffee maker. Highly recommended. Good Job Black and Decker.
Bought this coffeemaker to replace one from a different manufacturer that had been recalled as a fire hazard. This product has every feature I wanted and then some, it is also an atractive appliance. The price was a steal for the features and my experiences with Black&Decker have always been positive.

This is one programmable coffeemaker that's actually very easy to program. The touch-pad buttons are intuitive, and the printed directions clear, so there's no excuse for not waking up to the aroma of a freshly brewed pot of java. To prepare for making a pot at any hour, the lid lifts up (hinges in rear), exposing the brew basket: add a flat-bottomed paper filter and the ground coffee of your choice. Save your money. This is the worst Oxo product. Mine was so dull that it made a mushy mess out of the mango. Much faster to use a knife and yields much more fruit. Save your drawer space for tools that actually work.
This mango splitter saves your fingers and hands from touching all the fruit. It cuts right around the seed neatly. There is considerably more fruit to enjoy. The grip is comfortable and the blade is sharp enough to go through the skin. This tool will be used frequently. We are looking for more mango recipes thanks to the ease of use.
You just have to line up the mango and the splitter works very well. I was dubious at first but it eliminates alot of the mess associated with eating mangoes. ONly problem is that I eat the whole mango in one sitting now.
This is something that you need but wow it is hard to line-up the location of the pit. Useful.
Ok, I know. I know. Why buy such an obviously single use item when most kitchens are full to the brim with gadgets and gizmos? If you plan to eat more than one mango in your life, I promise you that this baby is worth the investment. The money you'll save in what would otherwise be wasted precious mango flesh is reason enough alone. A better reason: you won't cut yourself. If you've ever tried to cut a really ripe mango you know how they can slip and slide away the moment the skin is pierced because the juice gets all over the place.

There is another mango gadget out there. It's called a mango fork. It's a scary looking item that is not child friendly, but it does work. You spear the fork into the mango at the base and you get the middle tine into the pit and that holds it in place so you can cut the mango. That's fine and all but if you have to have a special gadget it may as well cut the mango along with holding the pit in place.

So back to this mango splitter. Here's how you use it. First make sure you have a ripe mango. You can use this on an unripe mango but I don't recommend that for the first try. Hold the mango upright with the blossom end down. Put the center part where you think the pit will be. If you haven't dissected many mangoes it might not seem natural but try it a couple times and you'll get the hang of it. The mango pit will offer resistance so if you feel that then pull back and try to reset the splitter so that it gets around the pit. Push down. That's all there is to it.

Once the mango is split you can cut lines in the flesh and turn the skin kind of inside out and you'll get a hedgehog looking result. Slice the bits off and eat. Really you can spoon ripe flesh right off the skin but if you want to be more civilized (usually I can't restrain myself but I try) then I recommend trying to make it look pretty.

I confess myself baffled by the reviewers who say they can't get the ice cubes out of the tray. It's silicone. It has a tremendous amount of give to it. All you have to do is press up from beneath the cube you're trying to remove, and it'll pop out with just a tiny bit of resistance. No, it doesn't twist like your typical plastic ice tray, but it's not designed to.

Furthermore, a lot of reviewers are describing these as being made of rubber, and thus are worried about a rubbery taste. It's not rubber; it's silicone. Says so right there in the product name. Silicone is inert, meaning it's likely NOT going to be leeching rubbery flavors into your ice. More likely, those off flavors are coming from something else in your freezer.

One feature I find interesting is that as the cubes freeze, and the water expands, each block presses against the blocks surrounding it, making for remarkably true cubes. It does, however, also mean that any excess water will be forced upwards, potentially causing a slight deviation from a perfect cube as the uplifted water freezes. Thus, it may not be an ideal product for those who tend towards obsessive-compulsive disorder, but for everyone else, it makes really neat little cubes. You just have to forget what you know about standard ice cube tray techniques.
Not worth the price at all. Very hard to get them into the fridge, and when you try to empty them, it is impossible. They are not cheap, big waste of my money.
I like these tray's alot. The cubes are nice and big, but I have a little problem getting them out of the mold. Since it is rubber, I'm sure that is why. It say's silicone, but I call it rubber. And I like the color.
I have owned these for 3 years. My husband originally purchased these to store homemade baby food so that we could freeze them into individual sizes. I would make a good amount of baby food, freeze them in here then transfer it to food saver bags or ziplock. Then when feeding time came, I would pull a fruit cube, veggie cube, and meat cube. This allowed for a great variety in their diet. When my children outgrew baby food, we used these for not only ice, but freezing pesto cubes and broth to add to soups or pasta sauces. The ice cubes are great for parties too.
My girlfriend and I got these because they seemed like a great way to make cold beverages more exciting.

You will likely find the pro will only ever outweigh the con if you are hosting a cocktail party, want to impress your math geek friends, or are simply feeling a bit masochistic.

While certainly pretty, these cubes can make what should be a simple task like putting a few ice cubes in a glass a painful 2-3 minute affair. You have to push and pull strenuously just to release one cube. Want more than one? Get ready for PAIN as your hands begin to frost over. In our house this is often followed by swearing on my part and a refusal to ever use these stupid trays again. Not even slamming them on the counter can speed up the process (oh, how I tried).

To summarize, only get these if they won't be your primary source of ice cubes, or you like your vodka tonics with a twist of needless frustration.

Careful, occasional use and mine fell apart in the same way it did in the customer photo. I am buying a different press to replace it.
I love a French press.., so much easier and less clean up then a coffee maker. I've had several, this is the best one. The plastic is very hard and clear and looks/acts like glass. I love that it's not glass because I have the "guts" to three other presses that have broken. Even f you don't drop them, the glass can get chipped or cracked and then they are no good. The screen filter on the press is very fine and fits to the walls very well so no coffee grinds get through (which is my biggest complaint about most French presses). Then, there is also a screen on the pouring spout just in case a grain was left in your water. The lid fits well.., the handle, base, and top are durable, and it's very attractive. Would def. recommend and buy as a gift for others. Excellent for travel to a hotel or somewhere where they have those nasty old coffee makers and nasty coffee.., Excellent for our RV and camping.., this saved us SO much money when we at Disneyland for 10 days, because we didn't go to the overpriced coffee shop and spend $10-$15 bucks. Plus it's easy to bring your own grind and a non-breakable press so you're getting your favorite coffee. (I'm a decaf. drinker and it's so hard to find a good decaf. grind). Good buy for sure.
I've had a few problems with this one:

1. There are 3 larger cut-outs in the screen, so if the screen rotates wrongly (as it will, when the bolt loosens), coffee gets through the screen. I guess a courser ground than supermarket coffee that is pre-ground would work better. I had to keep fishing out grounds from my cup.

2. The bolt in the plunger loosens.

3. My bottom disk on the plunger broke apart after 9 months of repeated (almost daily) use.
I'm glad I opted for the 8 cup - it's certainly not a big unit. Just enough for one or two people. I suggest a good strong roast to get the full benefit of this brewing style. I've been putting a few dashes of cinnamon in with the grounds - yum! It doesn't stay hot forever, but a quick nuke is great if I'm the only one drinking the whole pot.
I have owned this for a week, and sure enough, the plunger broke. It wouldn't screw into the screen, like it was stripped. I have owned a metal coffee press for at least 10 years and it still works. I have been looking for a metal press and haven't found one so I bought this knowing I would break a glass press. Well, I'm still looking.

Way better than those cheap $10 plastic ones you can buy at Starbucks. Keeps your coffee hot/warm for at least 4 hours. That's with out pre-heating the cup.
I LOVE LOVE THIS SS TRAVEL TUMBLER, I HAVE AN OLD ONE THAT I HAVE USED FOR OVER 3 YEARS NOW, STILL WORKS EXCELLENT WITH A FEW MINOR DINGS IN IT. I USE IT EVERY SINGLE DAY. YOU WILL BE VERY SATISFIED WITH THIS ITEM.
There is only one problem with this mug. After I bought one, I had to buy another because my girlfriend promptly stole mine because she liked it so much. If you warm the inside with hot water first it will literally keep coffee warm for up to 4 hours. Lid screws on securely with a rubber seal to prevent dribbles which makes washing my dress shirts easy. This mug is worth every penny.
Love it, need I say more. Easy to care for keeps hot drinks hot and cool drinks cool.
The cup functions fine but is too tall to fit in the dishwasher and tends to tip in the car-the 14 oz works better

I gave these several chances to do what was promised. I have just as good luck with regular plastic bags if I continually wipe out the condensation that forms in the bag. If you don't buy large quantities, there's way too much bag to tuck around the produce. It is also much easier to wash out and dry a substantial plastic bag than these floppy things. Save your money!
Nothing to brag about, they do help some in preserving foods a few days longer.
I was very skeptical about these bags when I saw them on TV commercial. Then one day, I saw it at the store "on sale" so I tried them ($9.99 for 25 bags). I had to find out for myself it they really work. It's true that the ethylene gas is the culprit to rotting fruits and vegetables faster. BUT, these bags DO NOT help much.

I tested them with the bananas. Yes, they don't look brown after 5-7 days, but they are very soft on the inside. At first, I was like "wow, they do work!" but then I took a bite out of the bananas "ewww, rotten taste". I rather used my old trick, once they start having freckles, I put them in the fridge. Sure they turn brown on the skin, but they taste great on the inside.

I tried them on strawberries, they caused them to rot faster! It's false advertising I'm telling you.

The trick to fresher lettuce, don't buy these bags and save your money. Just use a plastic knife and carve out the cord of the lettuce. Keep them dry in your fridge wrapped in 2-3 pieces of paper towels (no plastic bag) and VOILA! Longer lasting lettuce! The cord is the ethylene gas producing part of the lettuce.

I'm a vegetarian and I like to find ways to keep my veggies last longer and I should have saved my money not buying these bags!
I don't know why these are getting such bad reviews, I use them all the time&they are AWESOME. I've never had spinach last so long. It sounds like some people may not be following the directions on the box.
Not sure of the poor reviews on this, Perhaps they're in a different climate or the food isn't that great to begin with, not really sure, How they work for some and not for others. I have been using them for over a year and I love 'em, I blend my Bananas most of the time, so the 7+ days don't really matter too much, they are not brown inside at all though. They aren't as firm as when you buy them, but they're a lot better a week later than without the bag.
And for lettuce they are great, tomatoes too. I do save money, there's no doubt about that, I don't throw my fruit and veggies away any more.

This is a very handed item, it has help me tremendously. I suffered a stroke and now only have the use of one hand. This item is great for mixing or stirring liquids of any lite duty jobs. The only thing that it didn't acheive for me was mixing pancake mix. But it's a lot more powerful than it looks!
It feels a bit cheap, looks a bit cheap...heck, it was cheap. But it works well has surprisingly fast speed, lacks torque (power to get through thicker fluids...definitely not shakes), but works as advertised.
I used one of these years ago and it took a while to figure out what search terms to use. It's fine for what it is but I'd pay a dollar more for better construction. The straight attachment wobbles and takes a 2nd hand to get it going. Not practical for mixing with the one. The others are similarly cheap in construction. The metal one works great. I don't know if it's worth the bother to request a repalcemnt.
Very nice wisk. It is small and compact. Best of all it is cordless. Great for quickly mixing a single cup.
This thing is a joke--perhaps it was intended for a child's toy? I tried mixing 2 eggs with a little milk for an omelet, and it struggled with that simple task. I could not think of any practical task for it, so I finally decided to removed my batteries (they, at least, were worth something) and banish it to the "junk drawer". While removing the batteries the thing fell apart in my hands, so I just chucked it into the trash.
This contraption should be a total embarrassment to the Chinese who made it and to Amazon who sold it.
My advise? Save your money. Do not buy this "mixer". If you need a cordless mixer, you might instead consider a Gizmo cordless mixer by Black and Decker. We have had one for years. Ours worked quite well for light mixing jobs until the rechargeable battery finally packed it in. I ordered and got a new one from Amazon, who should NOT be embarassed for selling it.

Easy to clean and light weight. Inexpensive. We are happy with them and would buy them again.
I only ordered this set of chopsticks because of what the Image showed of them, What I was looking for are grips that are squared like in the image and with tips that have large blunt ends like most Chinese style wooden chopsticks I've seen again like the image shows. What I got was chopsticks with more rounded grips and slim tapered tips with ridges exactly like the Joyce Chen Stainless Steel Chopsticks witch I can get here at any food supply store and have a few sets of all ready. So I'm kinda of disappointed at wasting my time and money. with theses.
This was a total impulse buy for us but we couldn't happier. Yes you have to be decent at using chopsticks to fully enjoy them as they are lighter and slicker than the wooden ones you get with your takeout. But if you like us and cook at home alot the wooden ones really aren't practical unless you buy them by the case. Wooden ones tend to mildew if reused and who really wants splinters in their food. If you want to be ready for great lo mein or noodles of any kind these just might be what you are looking for.
These are very simple, very light chopsticks. They're metal AND round, so if you're not good with using chopsticks, of course these will be difficult to use. If you're Korean, you probably already use these, as Koreans use metal chopsticks anyway. I like mine quite a bit. If you're not good with chopsticks and you get these, you will either get really good with chopsticks or just never use them. They're not very expensive, so it's worth trying them out.
These are very sturdy, dish washable, yet as lightweight as any other pair of chopsticks. No paint on them, so no chipping. No wood, so wont sog, splinter, etc. Just smooth stainless steel. Definitely worth the buy.
