(Nordic Ware Popper is Great Except for the Lid)

I got this popper because of the nasty stuff that is inside of microwave popcorn bags, fluorooctanoic acid, a resistant coating that releases onto the popcorn when the bag is heated and is then absorbed into the bloodstream. The chemical appears to be carcinogenic in lab animals. The FDA is now "studying the effects of the chemical in greater detail" (wasting a few more thousand lab animals I'm assuming).

Anyway, this popper is great. Ditto what everyone has said about the burning, you have to experiment. I think it works best with 1/4 to 1/3 cup of popcorn, no more. It's fast, kernels pop up fluffy. You can't beat the price.
This popcorn bowl is awesome. I never thought it would so good. I never put the bowl in the dishwasher even though it says you can. Dishwashers have a way of ruining plastic in the end. Throw those awful air poppers out and get one! We have had ours for 5 months and use it every day. My husband wants to get a second one. He is afraid our one bowl will suffer a terrible fate some day like getting dropped by one of the kids and breaking. The thought of not having a back up puts him in state of popcorn withdrawl just thinking about it.
My Nordic Ware popper is over 10 years old and works as good as the day I bought it. My Sharp microwave has a "popcorn" setting which works perfectly with the Nordic Ware popper. I use 1/2 cup popcorn, and enough canola or vegetable oil to cover. When the popcorn is done popping the popcorn actually lifts the lid just a bit! The bowl does get hot, so remove it from the micro onto a dish towel, sprinkle the popcorn with salt or your favorite seasoning and enjoy! Note: there are always a small amount of unpopped kernels, but at 99 cents for a huge bag of popcorn, I just throw them away. I'm ordering a few more of these poppers to give as gifts. Bundle it up with oil, seasoning salt, popcorn and a movie for a fun gift.
After reading that the bagged popcorn for the microwave might have some toxic chemicals in the bag itself and something in the butter might not be good for you, I decided to try a microwave air popper...I love popcorn..this is fast and easy. I am so glad I bought it and feel healthier for eating popcorn made this way.
The Nordic Ware popper does a great job and it would get 5 stars except for the lid which is NOT microwave safe as suggested on the lid. After using the popper for several months (not more than once a week) the lid warped so that it wouldn't stay on. Corn kernels and and popped corn end up all over the inside of the microwave. I tried to flatten it while it was still hot by putting a weight on it, but it would warp again at the next use. Nordic Ware customer service said they never heard of this and sent me another lid, but it looks like the same lid. I'm expecting it to warp also in a few months. Has anyone else experienced this problem with their Nordic Ware popper?

Recieved our toasted faster than we had expected,in great shape and in the original box from company,not opened. We are very pleased with our purchase.
When my little $10 toaster gave up the ghost after 5 years, rather dangerously I might add, I went searching for the perfect toaster. Well, they make them a lot bigger than they used to, but that aside, the Krups performs better than the two I purchased then returned. The outside stays cool, the items toast uniformly each time, and it has the feature that all toasters should have for safety, the lever that raises smaller items to the top so you don't have to stick a fork in. I have not used the defrost feature and probably won't. I would recommend the Krups.
This toaster is better than the least three toasters we've bought -- so far. Since toasters don't seem to last too long any more, I reserve final judgement until we've had the toaster for a year. But the toaster toaster quickly, evenly and is easy to use. However, to toast the whole grain bread we prefer, we have to turn the dial way up to the high end. That's why I wonder if it'd going to hold up.
I bought this toaster in exchange for an inexpensive $10 toaster because this old one was too narrow to fit bagles or rolls. This toaster does exactly what it should do...it toasts bread, bagels and rolls, and it does it very well!
In addition to it, you will get a great looking device, which looks very nice on your countertops in your kitchen. The black and steel finish looks really stylish and the whole look-and-feel of this toaster is of a very high quality for an unbeatably low price on amazon.com.
We have always gotten cheap toasters in the past but decided to upgrade this time&are really glad we did. This toaster is great. Toasts evenly. Is easy to clean&empty. We especially love the pop up button. I think it saves wear&tear on the unit not to have to pop up your toast by the handle. I would recommend this unit as a step up from cheaper units but is still in the affordalbe range for most people.

I've been using the Food Saver system for several years. It does a fine job of extending the expected shelf-life of stored foods. The 1 quart bags are the size that are useful for a 2 party family. These bags are very well made, and seal to perfection. I may suggest one improvement...the seal line should be more adjustable so that the bag could be reused a couple of times. You should be able to cut off the bag at the seal point, reinsert a food, and reseal the bag. I can't do this because too much of the bag is wasted after cutting off the first seal.
I have dealt with customer service a few times and they have been very accommodating, and have fully satisfied my needs.
I have no problems with the Foodsaver rolls ... those seem to work flawlessly. These pre-made bags, however, have been next to worthless. Perhaps I just received a bad batch but only about one out of every 5 bag will even begin to evacuate much less hold a seal. Those that do evacuate typical lose their seals after a while. I'm sticking with the rolls from now on.

One positive is that I can use the box these came in to store bags I've made from the rolls for later reuse. Other than that, these bags have been frustrating in the extreme!
I actually use these with a Rival Seal-a-meal vacumn sealer. They work great every time. They vacumn and seal easily. I've even re-used bags three and four times. I hate to use more plastic, but love the results. I try to salve my conscience by making sure I recycle all the bags when they're no longer usable. I've tried using cheaper bags from Wal-Mart, and had nothing but trouble. The Rival seal-a-meal bags actually work fine too, they're just harder to find.
Keep a supply of Foodsaver bags on hand. Love my Foodsaver!

I've had the Perfect Pod maker and Keurig pod adapter for awhile now and have really liked the convenience of making my own pods. The k-cups are a great convenience and taste great but are so expensive! So I love the option of being able to make my own pods. The process of making these is so simple, put the filter in the pod maker, fill it with desired amount, fold the paper top over it and close the lid for about ten seconds and you have a perfect little pod!

My last order of Perfect Pod Filters arrived in basically a plastic bag with no padding. The three containers were kind of crushed. I was not too happy because the shipping for these filters is kind of expensive for what you are getting.

On the packing slip was an e-mail address with a request to contact them before leaving feedback so I did. I expressed my disappointment in the poorly packaged product and the condition it arrived in. I immediately got a respose with a promise to resend me the pods with no additional cost (and they did not request for me to send back the damaged ones either). The new pods arrived very quickly, packed in a box this time with packaging material to protect them.

So my only gripe with these are the fact that the shipping price is too expensive for such a light weight product. I wish Amazon would carry these directly so I could opt for the "free shipping" option.
I bought these about two months ago and they work great. I can use any coffee I want - in any strength I want. They are much cheaper to use than buying the premade Senseo pods. With the Pod Maker you can make many many pods in just a few minutes. I am very glad I bought the pods and the Pod Maker.
Perfect Pod Filters 3 Pack - 120 Total Filters
I purchased a Bunn Commercial Coffee pod maker- the problem was my husband said he could never find great coffee in the pods. We were able to brew the perfect pod with his favorite coffee and with the bonus of the no mess clean up! At first we had difficulty with the filters, but we called the customer service number on the side of the box and the inventor/owner of the company was the person on the other end of the line. Talk about a helpful guy! One suggestion he had was to place the pod upside down and it worked. Also, my husband found the finer the grind on the coffee, the better the cup!
These are awesome. With the large insert in my Senseo (the 2-cup one) I can fill these pods up and make a strong 8 oz cup of coffee in no time. I do an assembly line and make 12 or so at a time, which is about what I use over the course of a week. Only take a few seconds each to make.
Toss 'em in the compost when used. Easy as can be!
this&the pod maker are a great matchup. i only use about 3/4 of teaspoon of coffee. its just perfect.

Very well constructed. Excellent capacity. New pressure technology is superior to old style on my 20-year old unit. Easier to use and comes complete with needed accessories. Nothing extra to buy. I recommend it.
I knew that I wanted a Presto stainless steel pressure cooker because it has been so well rated. However, I struggled determining what size to get. Amazon sells the 4, 6, and 8 quart cooker. I am a single guy and thought that maybe the 8 quart was going to be too big but then did not want to get the 4 or 6 and be limited to what I could cook.

So I decided to get the 8 quart, and it turned out to be the perfect size. As you might be aware, for most foods, one should not fill the pot past the halfway mark. I like cooking chicken soup, chicken stew, turkey legs, beans, etc. Well, once I finish adding the meat, vegetables, and water, the pot is almost approaching the halfway mark. The size is also perfect for storing food in the fridge. When I am done cooking, I leave the leftovers in the pot and place the pot in the fridge. The next day, I can easily reheat the food right in the pot.

As for the pressure cooker itself, it works great. It cooks food fast and preserves all the food flavors. The pot is well made. The outer stainless steel surface is beautiful. Overall, this is just a great product.

I've used the Presto 8 quart stainless steel pressure cooker several times, and each time I've gotten great results. Stainless steel is easy to clean, and this cookware is well constructed. I would definitely recommend this product.
I like this pressure cooker. I have used it several times and it really cooks as quick as they said it would. It is easy to use and was easy to figure out how to use it but I would suggest reading the manual first for safety reasons..It is made better than I thought it would be and I would buy another one if I ever have to..Cheers..Keithmj
This pressure cooker really does the job great. It cuts the time you prepare a meal in half, or less. I have the best results with ribs. Tender every time. Roast, on the other hand, I need to cut back my time. My fault on that. Follow directions and you will have great results.
