(Really good tumbler, but some flaws....) 『I've accumulated a lot of tumblers over the years (free and purchased), and this is the best one I own.
Pros: 1. Insulated - I know this is one of the big selling points, but I just want to re-emphasize it. I own a sports car with fairly stiff suspension, and every day I have to contend with speed bumps at work. Some of my tumblers spit and spill even when the stopper is closed, getting all over the place. Not with the Contigo. Plus, you can toss it in your messenger bag, no worries. 2. Cool to the touch. 3. Pretty cool looking, if you care what your tumbler looks like... Personally, I don't really care, but I thought I'd include this as a pro anyways.
Cons: 1. The way the sipper top works, you have no idea how hot the liquid is before you take a sip. When I first used this tumbler, I had a couple incidents of burnt tongue. I've just resigned to the fact I have to wait for the liquid to cool enough to start drinking... In some of my other cups, the top has a big lip where the liquid pours into first, and you can cool it a bit. 2. The first con is the only real problem I have with the mug... However, here are a couple annoyances that weren't important enough to factor into my actual rating: the mug is advertised to hold 16 oz. And it does, but it will fill it to the absolute top. The problem here is, this won't work once you put the lid on. If you fill it as high as possible, taking into consideration the top, you lose a couple ounces. Not a biggee, but there ya go. Also, you have to hit a button every time you sip due to it being insulated. Again, not a biggee, just a nit, and really something you have to live with for the insulation.
Overall, great mug... in retrospect, I'm not sure it's worth $20, but I still like it.』

(Best Expresso Machine, for the money!) 『I purchased this machine 4 months ago, and absolutely love it! It's my first expresso machine, so I'd never made expresso previously. However, after reading the machine's instructions and a few posts on this site, I was quickly making wonderful cappuccinos and lattes. And the taste is just as good as what you get at Starbucks! This machine is fully self-contained and very easy to operate. There is a slight learning curve when it comes to steaming and frothing, but I perfected my technique after the first couple of trys. The frothing wand sits a bit low, so you'll need to purchase a frothing cup to match that height. I've tried the LaVazza pods, but prefer the Starbucks expresso roast coffee. I buy it at my local Starbucks and have them grind it! As expected, the fresh ground coffee is much tastier, although cleanup is much easier when using the pods. For under $100, you won't find a better expresso machine than the Delonghi EC155!』
(Be patient for the best capuccino) 『I have owned this machine for about a month. Reading the different reviews were a big help in figuring out how to get the best out of this machine. It is important to use very cold milk to froth. I put it in glass jar to get it really cold. I use whole milk for the richest taste. Make sure the machine is very hot before use, turn it on about 15 minutes for the best results. I use a plain cup to releDe'Longhi EC155 Espresso Machine Ec155ase some steam into the cup. It is usually watery so that clears the nozzle for pure steam. Then I make the espresso. I fill the the filter holder and tamp it with about 30 pounds of pressure, while giving it a slight twist at the end. Then pull the espresso for about 20 seconds or until the color becomes light. Let the machine heat for a minute to froth the milk. Fill the frothing cup about a third full of cold milk. Do not immerse the frothing tip in the cup as shown in the instruction book. This will overheat the milk and NOT ctreate the delicious foam. Instead insert the tip just under the top of the milk and turn the steam knob to 12 o'clock. Skim the tip over the milk and lower the cup as the milk begins to foam up so that the tip does not end up deep in the foam. I ended up with alot of hot milk and little foam before I figured this out.
Meticulous cleaning of the machine is so important. Run water with vinegar through the machine once a month. Then run plenty of water though it to remove the vinegar. Seven parts water to one part vinegar is what I used. Run this though the espresso maker and the foaming tip. Clean the plastic tip with a pin frequently as milk will plug it even if you soak it.
I was frustrated with the intruction booklet, but I read alot of reviews for ideas and I now make a drink to rival a good coffee shop. It is a learning curve that has been alot of fun. This has been a very rewarding purchase, literally at the price of a latte!』

However, I can say with some confidence that the steam wand on this machine is too short for any ordinary quantity of steamed milk. It doesn't even reach the bottom of stout twenty ounce pitcher. I also don't understand the bulky plastic piece around the end of the wand: why not just leave the tip bare like some of the other machines I've seen? It looks and feels clumsy.

The lever was one of our main purposes for buying and now we don't have it. Also, the mixing mechanism on the inside is starting a weird clicking/chugging sound, and I notice at the bottom, it is starting to strip out a little, so I don't know how much longer the stirring will last :(

(Great at first..) 『This is a good product if you don't plan to use it a lot...I received one of these hot chocolate makers as a gift 2 Christmas's ago. It worked great and was used A LOT. About 10 months later it eventually melted and almost caused a fire. I assumed that I burned it out from over use. My husband replaced with a new one last Christmas and right on cue the second one is dying....it doesn't fully heat up the hot chocolate, so it's basically luke warm. (Sitting here sipping a green tea latte.....ohhhhsoooo good!) 『I thought since I use this everyday, I should write a review on it. Literally my husband and I use is several times a day. He like his green tea lattes (we used matcha powder like starbucks and milk plus vanilla flavor), and I like my green tea lattes with chocoate. And of course my kids like their hot chocolate. We have used it over and over for a year, and it's still going strong. ALthough I do want a stainless one... We have the white one.
You have to use a green scubby to clean the bottom, but it's not that hard. My kids have submerged the pitcher several times in water for long periods of time, and it's still going strong. You can't overfill... or get spills... but just don't overfill it... stop at the line marked!
The one think I really like it that it really mixed everything really well. You can't mix by hand matcha powerder to it balls up..... so it's really great to throw everything in and let it mix for you. I will make 4 cups of a flavored latte/steamer/ or coco in the morning and keep it going all day going back until it's gone.
When i got it for christmas from my sister I don't like, it was in my pile of returns. But, when i was gone my oldest kid pulled it out and mixed some coco..... I am glad she did. (High Quality, beyond expectations.) 『I have owned one of these mugs for over 12 years and have beat it up (dropped out the window on a highway, that is!), got it dirty, and overall treated it poorly. It still works great, but I wanted a new one for a spare. Keep it out of the automatic dishwasher to extend its life. If you are a heavy coffee drinker, you may want to take the rubber seal off and wash it by hand (this is extremely easy!). It lives up to its description of keeping hot liquids hot for about 4 hours (longer if you plan ahead and "pre-warm" the mug with hot water) and cold liquids cold for about 8 hours (you can pre-cool it for a lasting effect). You can truly tip this thing upside down, toss it in the air, and kick it around and you won't lose a single drop of liquid! Fits in all standard car cup holders.

These are very well made - and we've scooped hundreds of cookies with the medium one already. The mechanism is smooth and effective. I've used ice cream scoops with a similar mechanism that have stuck and eventually jammed or broken. This one works perfectly every time.

I like the restaurant chain versions, but they're sooo high in calories and fat! This way I can control what kind of bread (Low fat whole wheat) and meat I use. I love how it's all done at the same time. I can set it while I'm getting dressed and its done when I'm ready to go. The only draw back is that the toaster is very slow for just toasting bread (well over 5 minutes for two slices!). So, now we have to go buy a toaster. Again, I LOVE it for what it can do with multi-tasking...and it does cook eggs very nicely, just watch the amount of water -- use the little measuring cup that comes with it and you'll never go wrong!』
(Egg poacher died) 『Well at first I loved my little toaster that could make me an egg/english muffin in one... until it died on me. The egg poacher just didn't work one day, the previous day it was fine, the next, no heat. I also had issues with the teflon flaking off into my eggs. No telling how much of that I have eaten in the past month or so. Like others have said, it's a great idea, I certainly was enjoying it until it broke. Wish they could make a quality product. It honestly seemed tp stuff just as fast with the machine off, and the poorly-fitting plunger pushed huge amounts of air through the stuffer and into the sausage. Then I found the trick to getting it to work.
Getting air out of the system is the only way to get the feed screw to work. The easiest way to do this is to work a drinking straw up and down the feed chute while gently pressing on the plunger. You'll feel the plunger drop as air escapes. Once the air's out, the stuffer will actually stuff pretty well. Keep working the straw as you go.
The straw trick actually made this thing worth the $9. Without it, it's terrible.』
(It works... sorta.) 『For the price it's not a bad way to get into making your own sausage if you're already using the KA meat grinder, but for stuffing sausages it's not great. It clogs very easy (yes I had it assembled correctly) and you have feed very small chunks of the sausage into the tube leading to the worm drive, if you just try to shove it down the tube with the tamper it clogs badly. If you drop little chunks down and push with moderate pressure it'll work smoothly but still very slow. Because of clogging problems it took me about 90 minutes to stuff a 5# batch of fennel sausage, but once I made friends with it the pace would be about 30 minutes for five pounds, which is still to slow IMO. I'll be dropping a little more money on a dedicated stuffer soon.

(Too much time wasted, hard to work) 『I am a professional sausagemaker and a food scientist. I wanted to try to make sausage at home with my KitchenAid mixer and grinder attachment. It took 3 hrs to stuff 10 lb meat. It is worthless, time consuming, labor intensive. The plunger pulls back the meat you push in. The worm inside the grinder tube does not move efficently. And yes we did not attach the knife and plate. The tray needs to be larger, the grinding unit needs to be larger, the plunger needs to be straight. This is an awful design engineering. KitchenAid needs to replace their designer, too.』

As a baker, having dry measures for odd amounts like 2 cups, 3/4 cup, etc. is wonderful. The rings holding the sets together snap open so you can separate the individual spoons and cups while you're cooking. Each cup and spoon is labeled with the measure molded into the handle rather than printed on it, so there's no worry of the labels rubbing off through use. I love how the sets nest together so well; the cups are broad rather than tall, so they don't tip over.
An added bonus: With so many cups available, they're handy not just for measuring, but for using as ramekins for various ingredients while I'm making my recipes. (19-Piece Measuring Set: Awesome Set (My Solution To Cheap Rings)) 『My review: Many people have stated that the big(ish) problem with this set is that the rings are flimsy. Well I say "Rings-Shmings!" To me this set is so great, and cheap to boot, that even if I felt I needed to use the rings I still would give it 5 stars. No need to spend mental energy calculating anymore (which is great when I'm trying to study for a test and cook at the same time!) A very great set that fits in my meager budget.
My solution to the cheap rings: For those of you who really want a way to keep them together I hope this might help. What I do is I find that using those clips climbers use (I think they're called carabiner clips) is the way to go. I use three smaller clips: one to keep the large cups together, one to keep the smaller cups together, and one to keep the measuring spoons together. I then use a large clip to keep the different sets near each other. What's great about the clips is when you grab one set they all come with you where you can easily and quickly un-clip the individual measuring cups/spoons that you will be using (which also makes cleaning a breeze). The clips are even great for hanging them on a hook somewhere in your kitchen if you don't have much cabinet space like me (I keep them on a removable hook on the side of one of the cabinets in my apartment).』

I use the sharpener to put an edge on the knives (only once or twice a year) and then use the honing steel every or every other time I use the knives. They are MUCH sharper than they have been in years.』
(Easy peasey) 『I ordered this Monday and received it Wednesday. Loved the packaging; though a plastic package, it wasn't heat-sealed in every conceivable manner so it was very easy to open.
That said, I have a small collection of Sabatier knives that I've simply used a steel on for the past few years. I know that the edges aren't what they should/could be so I bought this sharpener to see what it would do.
It's comfortable, easy to use, and effective. I first sharpened my 12" slicer, drawing it gently over the carbide side. I was surprised to FEEL the burrs on the blade!
I think that the key is to draw the blade from heel to tip slowly through the carbide sharpener with very slight pressure and repeating this until it feels smooth, no burrs. Then take it to the ceramic side for a final touch. That gave me a very nice edge.
Most likely I'll just draw my knives through the ceramic side from time to time unless I see a deterioration of the edge at which time I'll repeat the 2-step process.
I'm happy! A sharp blade is a safe blade!』

(Used for fine knives) 『I purchased this to sharpen my good knives, purchased at "Sur la table." I'd had the knives for 2 years, they were not really sharp. One is a santuko design, with the wavy edge. Just a few passes thru the "coarse" side, followed by a few passes thru the "fine" side, and the knives are as good as new. Worked well on both straight edge and wavy edge knives. Good solution to sharpening without spending a lot of money.
I reserve this sharpener for my good knives, maybe I'll buy another for my cheap knives.』
