On my Electra Townie, a comfort class bike, the pedal crank arm is located too far forward to allow alignment of the third sensor. The pedal crank arm magnet is required to align with the GSC-10 and the spoke magnet in order to measure your pedaling strokes per minute.
It is not critical for operation, but you will be unable to measure your pedaling strokes per minute. Although a general road touring cyclist, I did purchase the unit and the Edge 705 in order to measure everything I could. It was disappointing to learn AFTER the fact that I will miss a key measure. 』

(Poor imitation of the original MiniBob Sled) 『Hammacher Schlemmer appears to make a better ripoff of this classic alpine toy. I tried for 3 years to get the uptight German company Loeger to ship them to me, but no dice. Now it seems that everyone is taking advantage of an expired patent that didn't belong to Loeger in the first place. Even the German plastics manufacturer jumped ship on them and came out with a souped up adult size version. This version is pitiful; the handle is too short and like the Hammacher Schlemmer model has no molding to improve grip. They both seem to have eliminated the all important rope hole so you have to carry the darn thing by the slippery awkward handle or in your arms! Try that climbing back up a hill! I have 2 cracked and faded 34 year old Minibobs that would kick this thing's butt on the slopes.
