I bought this for the Tempting SEALs continuation. Although it was just a novella, I didn't want to miss reading Maggie's story. Lora Leigh continues to heat up the pages even with a much shorter story than Dangerous Games. The rest of the short stories were just some filler material which really didn't do much for me.
The third Tempting SEALs is a novella, "For Maggie's Sake". Maggie, a new widow who was introduced at the end of "Dangerous Games" (Tempting SEALs #2), had once dated Joe Merino, the top DEA agent who led Morganna's team in "Dangerous Games". After months of recently divorced Joe telling Maggie that he would never commit to or love a woman again, she finally took him seriously when he showed up at a society event she was covering for her newspaper with a stacked blonde female stranger on his arm. Maggie hadn't even known he was planning on attending. She got the message, and removed herself completely from his life -- even though he wasn't done with her yet. But she stood fast, trying to protect her broken heart, and six months later she got married, even though she doubted the wisdom of that step when her fiance told her a couple of days before the wedding that Joe Merino was his best friend. She was very lonely, though, and she felt she could come to love the nice man her fiance had portrayed himself as, so she went through with it.

It was the biggest mistake she ever made. She couldn't even leave her husband; she found that out three months into the marriage when she tried to and discovered he had damaging information about her father from his youthful years, and her husband was more than willing to blackmail her into staying with him. Now, two years later, with her husband dead and proven to be a U.S. traitor, she found herself under suspicion of being her husband's accessory -- because he had left journals behind saying that she was. Unfortunately, not only was Maggie completely innocent of all the suspicions being held against her, she also discovered, after a week in Joe's company in a remote safe house, that not only did she still love Joe, but she had never stopped. And Joe was one of the agents who thought she was lying about her lack of involvement with her husband's treacherous activities. To put the icing on the cake, the cartel to whom her husband had been feeding information thought she was lying, too...and they desperately wanted to get their unfriendly hands on her.

Note: Although, as usual, this is a sexually explicit Lora Leigh story, Joe is not into BSDM, unlike Clint in Tempting SEALs #2.

Loved this and I really liked the lora leigh book. She writes some very steamy scences.

Animal whisperer Kira Donovan works at a wildlife refuge taking care of all types of animals. But she has more in common with animals than just being able to communicate with them. She takes care of it by hiring farm hands to help her on the refuge, and to help her in bed.

When the two hands she'd hired this year disappear, she's surprised to find two more on her doorstep, Derek and Tom. She's immediately attracted to Tom, and fixates on him to help her with her heat. What she doesn't know is that Tom "Ender" Knight has been sent by ACRO, the Agency for Covert Rare Operatives, to recruit her into their organization. If he can't do that, he has orders to kill her.

Ender's been told about Kira's needs, and he's ready to do his job, until he meets her. And when he sees Derek, whom he knows is an operative for ITOR, ACRO's enemy, he knows he has to eliminate him. Then, despite his best efforts, when Kira wobbles on joining ACRO he knows he can't kill her. But she agrees to go with him to check things out. He just needs to get her there alive, and away from ITOR's operatives. And they need to survive her heat cycle while they're on the run from the bad guys.

If you haven't read any of Sydney Croft's books in the ACRO series, you're missing a thrill ride packed with emotion and hot passion. Reading Unleashing the Storm was like visiting old friends. The ACRO bunch is realistic and entertaining, and the fact that they're trying to save the world makes them that much more attractive to me.

Ender is the ultimate bad boy, carrying around the weight of his job and past deeds. I absolutely adored the way he and Kira blended together, and the way they worked through their problems. It's one of those books I just couldn't put down. I loved the first book, Riding the Storm, and now I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the third novel, Seduced by the Storm.

Sydney Croft has crafted a series that is not to be missed. It includes danger, intrigue, romance and sex. What more could a reader ask for? Unleashing the Storm is fantastic, and I am happy to Joyfully Recommend it.

After reading the first one---and thinking the lead male character Remy just simply has too much SEX!!!!!!---and then actually finding I like Creed, a secondary character better, I wasn't too sure I was going to like this book.
To be truthful, if I hadn't purchased it at the same time I purchased the first book, I would never have read this.....but I am sooo glad I did. I found it really very good.....Tommy (LOL) actually became likeable, because when he was introduced in the first book I found him too cold and hard.....but in this book her was great.
The plot was interesting as well...I will be purchasing the 3rd book when it comes out...I hope the author can continue to write the same quality she did in this book.....

The Agency for Covert Rare Operatives (ACRO) send their best Ender to "bumble-fuck" Idaho to either bring in or kill animal psychic Kira Donovan. Using his former identity before he joined ACRO, Tom Knight cases Rainbow Ridge Sanctuary unaware that his target has been telepathically talking to Cheech the goat about "Peeping Tom". She also has hired Derek as her two farmhands vanished; Tom assumes they are dead as he and Derek know each other as enemies.

As Ender struggles to understand the tree hugging vegan, ACRO chiefs argue over whose division gets her while Derek's gang ITOR want her too. He does not want to kill her but begins to think he will have to. Then he learns she is in heat and needs sex to survive. In between making love, Tom kills Derek, but ITOR is on top of them. Tom persuades Kira they must flee to the safety of his people. They do with the enemy in pursuit, but must stop every few hours to relive her of her heat even as she fears her soulmate will desert her when they reach ACRO.

Normally, I have issues about a couple on the run stopping for sex, but UNLEASHING THE STORM uses the concept of a special human in animal heat as its underlying premise so that in this case the premise works. The story line is fast-paced and filled with action as Kira's sexual needs forces the pair to stop when escape is critical. Fans will root for the lead protagonists while appreciating this cleverly done romantic suspense erotic fantasy and seek the previous ACRO saga RIDING THE STORM.

When her "heat" begins, Ender is more than happy to see to her needs...for the first 24 hours. It's not until he finds himself having feelings for Kira that he wonders what he has gotten himself into.

Soon Ender and Kira are on the run from Itor, the other agency that wants Kira. The difference between ACRO and Itor is that ACRO will teach her to help where Itor will force her to hurt. Even with his growing feelings for Kira, Ender still knows that he would have to kill Kira before letting her fall into Itor's greedy hands.

I highly recommend paranormal lovers give this series a try. You won't regret it!

I want this man or any like him! This is a hot story line and after reading the start of this series with a new author for me, I will read every book she has in print! The story is great, the characters believable and soooooo sooooo hot. If you are looking for a man to lead the way - this is the one!
Once I opened the book, I didn't want to book it down. I'd been waiting a long time for the 2nd book in the Hell's Eight series to be released, but it was worth the wait. I love all the historical romance books written by this author. Now I must anxiously await the next book in the Promises series.
Sam's Creed is the second book in the Hell's Eight series by Sarah McCarty. In this book, we get Sam's story. Texas Ranger Sam MacGregor is out searching for a woman (as detailed in the epilogue in the first book of the series - Caine's Reckoning) when he comes upon a couple of burned out wagons. Exploring the wreckage, he comes upon Isabella "Bella" Montoya. Bella is trying to get away from Tejala, a bad guy who controls a large part of the territory and is determined to marry Bella. Bella enlists Sam's help in trying to get away from Tejala's men who are determined to bring Bella to Tejala.

Sarah McCarty's books are an auto-buy for me. After reading Caine's Reckoning, I couldn't wait to read the next book in the Hells Eight series. And to be honest, while I enjoyed the book, I was a tad disappointed in it. While the steaminess was there, there didn't seem to be much of a varied plot- think feisty heroine (feisty defined as she continually disregards Sam's instructions when the bad guys appear), alpha male who's determined not to fall for the heroine as they both try to keep away from the bad guys. Not a bad story line, but after reading the author's other books, it seemed like there could have/should have been more to it.

If you've never read a Sarah McCarty's books, this isn't a bad book to start with though you may wonder what all the fuss is about. If you're a fan of Sarah's books, I think you'll like the book, and there is a bonus as there's an introduction of possible characters that will appear in the next book (Tucker's story).

In 1858 bone weary Texas Ranger Sam "Wild Card" MacGregor sees the two burned out wagons and thinks how ugly people are to one another. Tired he sees two bodies bloated by the sun and expects to find women and children, as wagons usually mean dependents. Accompanied by Kell the dog, they find more corpses and one lively female survivor. Isabella Montoya explains to Sam they are dead because of her though she was not with them when they died.

He offers to take her home, bit she explains she is engaged in an arranged marriage to Tejala a nasty villain she refuses to wed. Sam insists on taking her back to her family's ranch, but she explains Tejala's odious henchmen stalk the spread. When they come close to her ranch, he realizes she was telling the truth as Tejala's thugs abound obviously seeking her out and would kill him to get her. Meanwhile wealthy Bella decides to seduce Sam into marrying her; she figures it helps that she is attracted to him and more important he is an honorable person who also can protect her. Sam wants the woman who almost accidentally killed him when they met, but tries to be honorable as he knows she is an innocent siren.

As with CAINE'S RECKONING, Sarah McCarty provides an entertaining Hell's Eight erotic Texas Ranger pre-Civil War romance. The story line is fast-paced mostly due to the powerful relationship between Sam and Bella, whose exchanges makes the tale. Although Tejala is a stereotypical avarice serial killing villain, fans will appreciate the lone ranger with his horse and dog falling in love with a spitfire heiress.

I bought this more my husband, and after the first couple of pages, he said he wouldn't read it. LOL!! I read it. It's definately an adult read. A mature adult read. It has pornograghic explaination in the greatest detail, and I found it commical.
Yes, I read the book all the way through. But, the book can be too much. I say this because after a while it seemed like reading a porn movie turned to book type thing. ZANE repeated many of her descriptive words in each chapter. It got to be a little sickening. Anyway, it is definitely an erotic type book. I gave it three stars because - Like I said - The repetition of words and scenes were the same - except different characters. ON THE DOWN LOW THOUGH : My favorite was the chapter of the woman washing her clothes in the laundromat at night ! Well, thanks for reading my review ! Be prepared for the " IN YOUR FACE " scenes when you read this book ! Peace Out !

This is a great book. I like alot of the stories, but i must say one of my favorite in this book, is the first story in the book. Won't say much about it but i will let you guys decide for urself overall a good book to read to stimulate your mind.

OK... allright...now this is an erotic collection that I can get with. Noire is an author who has written some pretty erotic and daring stories in the past so I was interested when I saw she was penning an erotic collection. For me Noire has been a hit and miss author. Some of her books I've loved and others I could have done without. This one FREAKING ROCKS!!! I would assume that in some ways it's harder to put together a collection because you have to pick someone else's work under YOUR name.

Noire does a wonderful job with picking the right stories, authors, and the end result is one of the better erotic collections you'll read. She starts us out with her story and takes us back to her first book `G-Spot'. This is my favorite book of hers and I was really happy to see her revisit it, even if it was just for a minute. I assume that `G-Spot 2' is on the way and if I was interested before, I'm definitely interested now since she does something pretty major with the two main characters.

This collection of Urban Erotic Quickies is just that. Quick and satisfying!! Some of the stories were straight hood and all about the street! Others were a cross between `The Wire' and `Sex in the City'. ALL had extremely graphic, hot, steamy, grimy, dirty, erotic, tasty, delicious, arousing, and satisfying sex! Some of these authors must have had a thesaurus next to their laptops because of the way they described some of the scenes. You almost feel like you are under the bed listening, a fly on the wall watching, or a drop of sweat on their bodies participating.

Don't sleep on this one yall. Here are some of my favorites:

Noire has done it once again along with fellow contributing authors. Each story has originality that showcases each author's talent. One minute you're reading some of your wildest fantasies, and the very next minute you are intrigued with hot and steamy tales that you yourself couldn't fathom.

I really enjoyed Andrea Blackstone, Plea$ure, Thomas Long, Jamise L. Dames, Aretha Temple, Erick S. Gray, Kweli Walker, and K'wan's stories.

It is a very well written book. I like the story line and also that it has references back to the other books, who have some of the same people in them. I am looking forward to more like it.
This is a wonderful book! You can't go wrong with a Sarah McCarty book! I have never had one of her books that I didn't read over and over. Give it a try you'll love it!!!
I have read this story FIVES times. I am a huge fan of this book, and I am in awe of the writer's talent. From the first chapter, it is impossible not to be pulled into the book. Clint is perfect in a very hot MANLY way.The characters are believable and the support characters add richness and texture to the story. I cannot rave enough about it. Sarah McCarty is more than just talented, she has a gift.

I absolutely loved this book. Jenna and Clint set the pages on fire with their passion and the storyline kept me turning the pages. The way Clint
helped Jenna overcome the brutality of her past was wonderful. He was so amazingly tender with her while still sexy and passionate. Jenna's willingness to trust Clint after everything she had been through with her abusive husband and father was the one element of the book that made the characters real. If you like your historical romances hot, sexy and complex, this is the book for you.

In my opinion, Promises Prevail was the best book in the promises series and Clint McKinnley was super hot.

Clint has always wanted Jenna, even when she was married to her abusive husband, Jack. When their house caught on fire, Clint ran in and saved Jenna and later to help her get back on her feet, financed the small bakery the now widowed Jenna runs. Clint knows it is time for him to marry and even though he has dated several of the town's eligible ladies he can't help but want Jenna. Jenna is terrified of Clint, he is overpowering in his size and masculinity. In her experience, all men are dominant and abusive to women, so even though he is always helping her she still fears him. When someone leaves a newborn half Indian baby girl on her doorstep, Jenna claims her but knows the town will not let her keep the baby without a husband. Clint steps up and offers to marry Jenna and she accepts knowing she'll never let the baby go. Clint finds out his new wife has been sexually and physically traumatized and he is determined to show her the good side of sex and that not all men are abusive. In short, he vows to spoil Jenna rotten. Jenna is shocked to find out she actually likes sex, with Clint anyway but she still is terrified of other men including Clint's two best friends. She is afraid to let Clint know everything that's happened because she wants him to love her. Clint is floored by the emotions of having a wife and daughter and is afraid that if Jenna finds out the secrets he is keeping, she will leave him.

I really, really liked this book. It was an emotional roller coaster ride, but soooo sensual it sizzles. By far, the best of the three.
