(Simply Hot)

(Well Written Erotica with an Unusual and Intresting Story)

(5 Kisses, Recommended Read, Reviewer's Choice Award, TwoLips Reviews)

(Starts out warm but the ending left me cold...)

(Not for me)
I have read plenty of erotic books this by far is one of the better ones. I can not wait for the next book Simply Sinful. If you like steamy hot sex scenes you will love this book. I couldn't put it down.
Kate Pearce is a fine writer. I bought Simply Sexual because it is in part a continuation of Eden's Pleasure and more specifically Antonia's Bargain. One of the characters with a strong role in Antonia's Bargain, Peter, and two others mentioned, Sara and Valentin are the major character's in this story, athough Peter is still not the major character, Sara and Valentin take the roles of primary protagonists.

I hope Ms. Pearce will give Peter his own HEA story, outside of his HEA with Sara and Valentin.

These three books are serious adult stories. Not for the squeemish, but also not for those just looking for something just detailing a string sexual encounters for no other reason than sex. The characters are complex, multifaceted and keep you interested in the progression of their stories. The stories are set in the early 1800's in England. The relationships between the people and the role of sex in relationship are quite believable for that time period. Kate Pearce writes the characters so well at times I almost felt like they were real people.

Simply Sexual by Kate Pearce begins with Sara Harrison seeing Lord Valentin Sokorvsky having vigorous sex with Daisy, the maid. This is the man who is supposed to ask for Sara's sister's hand in marriage. At first glimpse, he appears to be little more than a world-class cad, but his tragic history as a sex slave in a Turkish brothel explains the facade he hides behind. It has left him sexually insatiable and emotionally detached.

Valentin quickly discovers that Sara is the only one who appeals to him, not her younger sister. She's surprisingly forward for a virgin spinster of that era. She delights him with her straightforward honesty and excites him sexually more than any other woman he has known. Sara's father is finally convinced to allow her, and not her sister, to marry him.

Val is dealing with some painful emotional issues, and is unable to properly reassure Sara when his ex-mistress fills her head with lies. Unsavory shadows from his past have come back to haunt him, and he's understandably disturbed. Sara handles the situation admirably, making me like her character even more. Instead of fretting about it in silence, she confronts him and, even in the face of his dark mood, she manages to do it without being bitchy. That earns mega points from me as a reader.

When suspicion and misunderstandings loom over Sara's head, she'll need to trust Val and convince him to trust her in return, or risk losing him forever.

I adore a good erotic historical, and this one is absolutely wonderful, with intelligent characters, complex emotions and a plot that engaged my emotions to a rare high. This will appeal to anyone who likes an emotionally tortured hero who finds peace because of his wife's unconditional love. Very highly recommended.

I have read Kate Pearce's other books and loved them so I expected this to be the same. Well it was, at least the first half. I loved Valentin and Sara and thought their chemistry was amazing. A true mix of romance and erotica. I think my review looses two stars mainly because 1. I just could not warm up to Peter. I know WHY he is there, I just didn't want him there as much. 2. I just couldn't get into the second half of the book. Like another reviewer pointed out...it made no sense. Valentin doesn't want Sara to have lovers but it is okay with Peter? And I am sorry but Peter's borderline obsession with Valentin got old fast. The ending just didn't satisfy me as much as the beginning. I felt that it was lacking the warmth found in the beginning.
I loved the first 2/3's of this book. The hero Valentin is a scarred man inside and out from his imprisonment in a Turkish brothel. He has become jaded. Sara's father rescued Valentin and his friend Peter from slavery and now Valentin is going to help his benefactor by marrying his daughter Sara.

Sara has no idea that her husband was enslaved. He is an incredibly passionate lover and their scenes together are smoking hot. Sara is truly falling in love with her husband and Valentin is allowing Sara to warm his cold heart. They are a winning pair.

So why just two stars? Well, the end of the book made absolutely no sense. Valentin is possessive of Sara and does not want her to take lovers as other aristocratic wives do. Yet he dominates her into sexual acts with others that completely go against the grain of his earlier feelings. Furthermore, it is absolutely unbelievable that Sara's one time sexual adventure with her husband and others can totally heal someone of horrendous memories. How Valentin and Peter can continue to engage in activities in brothels, knowing their past is absurd. I know this is not just historical romance but erotica. The early scenes with Valenitn and Sara were both romantic and erotic. There are sweet emotions that flowed between them. The scenes toward the end of the book felt devoid of love.

I have read other books regarding this theme of a man forced into brothel service. Deborah Smith's Heart of the Dragon is a good one. This novel had so much more potential. Valentin never seemed overly tortured about his past and Sara was overly naïve.

Sexual Satisfaction

Ten years as a sex slave in a Turkish brothel left Lord Valentin Sokorvsky with an insatiable appetite for sex. Now the time has come for him to marry, but finding a woman who can satisfy his lustful desires proves a challenge...until he meets Sara and all he can think about is having her lie under his rock-hard body, begging him to taste and touch her...

Sensual Seduction

Sara Harrison knows she should be shocked and scandalized by Lord Sokorvsky's bold advances, but instead she is secretly aroused by this sensual, seductive man. For beneath her calm and composed manner is a wanton woman who longs for a man's intimate caress. She is most willing to be educated in the art of sensuality, to receive and give pleasure and to succumb to the wild desire that knows no limits

(Burn your fingers hot!)

(Cops AND Cowboys)

(The great Ms. Walker. One of my all time favorite books)

(Excellence in writing.......)

(21st Century Woman)
This two-story collectio by two of my favorite authors has made it to the top of my "hot reads" pile and is likely to live there for a while.

1) Her Wildest Dreams by Shiloh Walker - Definately a five star read. I'd give it six or seven stars if I could. This is a sequel to "Good Girls Don't" (which I have only been able to find in e-book form). As a warning, Allie and Alex like sex rough, raw and no-holds barred. This story is one of the hottest I've ever read and at the same time the love story aspect is very emotional. In my opinion, this is Walker's best.

2) Cowboy and the Captive by Lora Leigh - This one would rate about four stars for me. While the storyline is good, I didn't like the premise, but Leigh is a good enough writer she could have pulled it off had she expanded this into a longer, book-length story. In direct contrast to Walker's story, this one takes a huge step back from sex. Because Leigh is so known for her sexy stories, and because EC teamed it with such an over-the-top-hot tale, I really was expecting more steam from this one. Leigh kept the focus firly on the storyline, though, which involved twin confusion (one of my peeves) and pulls in a cameo from one of the August brothers.

No matter your mood, this two-in-one will have a story to suit you. if you want drama, read Leigh. If you want sexy, read Walker. It's an excellent duo and well worth the purchase price.

I am not going to go into detail, I see this has been nicely done. Lora and Shiloh do not disappoint with these erotic tales. Both stories were compelling with hot erotica. I recommend this compilation.
I bought this book for the Lora Leigh story (Cowboy&the Captive) but staid for the Shiloh Walker story. Don't get me wrong Leigh's story is good but I gave the five stars here for the first book;(Her Wildest Dreams). I liked the fact that the heroin did not cower away when she was pushed aside in the beginning by her hero and that she took herself on a trip purely for self redemption. The love scenes are scalding hot and the chemistry between the two is so strong you can reach out and touch it. I simply fell in love with Ms. Walker's book.
I adored both these stories and found them to be pure escapism. I would recommend them to anyone over 18. Fabulous writers!
Lora Leigh fans will not be disappointed! The Alpha Males in this book showed compassion and tenderness to Cat's situation where she is once again being punished for her evil identical twin's ruthless actions. The sex scenes were erotic and even had the main Alpha character proposing to get the woman who has stolen his heart. I am a fan for Victorian romances and I love the way that Cat had that touch of innocence. Anal scenes were not kinky but a touch romantic as well. I have read this book over and over.
Timid and shy, in her wildest dreams, Allie never imagined Alex would look at her with anything more than friendship and maybe a little pity in his eyes. As if living a nightmare, one horrible night Allie is attacked, and Alex comes rushing to her rescue. He wonders if he is really needed when he finds a little hellcat fighting off her attacker. Much later that night, Alex holds that little hellcat in his arms. Months later, he runs into Allie again, and he barely recognizes her. She's no longer the shy little wallflower she had once been. Problem is…she doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with him. Allie's about to find out that he's the only man guaranteed to make her wildest dreams come true. Melina had lived her life in her older, selfish twin's shadow until the final deceit forced her to refocus on her own life. But the past has not been forgotten by Luc Jardin. Now, kidnapped and at the mercy of a man with a grudge, Melina must learn to accept the past as well as her attraction to the arrogant rancher. Just as Luc must learn to accept that, sometimes, things are not always as they seem

(CAN'T SLEEP WITHOUT HIM)

(oh, did Mac lay down the law!)

(OMG - They do not get any hotter than this!)

(Sex scenes are hot.....the story, not so much.)

(needs a tighter chain)
WOW - I want to see this series continue with the brothers, uncles, cousins - just keep it going. I could not put this book down - the family was disgruntled with my read! Sarah is a hot author with hot characters and the sex is sooooo desireable with this totally alpha male. If you haven't ventured into this author and you just don't know if you can read a book with this type of hot, hot, hot sex - throw caution to the wind. You will be glad you did!
I am not going to do a rendition, I see this has already been done. This book was great. Mac was a total alpha male. This book had passion, hot sex and an interesting story line. Kudos Sarah, I will be reading more of your books. I highly recommend this book.
All I can say about this book is Oh My God! This has been the single most intense book I've ever read, they absolutely do not get any hotter than this one. I don't think I've ever blushed or squirmed in my seat as much as I did throughout this book and I LOVED IT!

All of Sarah McCarty's books are out of this world and hotter than you know where.

You absolutely do not want to miss out on this one!

In a nutshell: Woman moves to old west, well, kind of. This book seems like an old western but it is a contemporary. Woman answers ad for job as cook for a rancher. Rancher doesn't want to hire a woman because of the horny old men working for him. Woman makes a deal to prove herself. Ranch hands love womans cooking. Rancher like woman. Woman likes rancher. They have sex. Rancher holds back anal sex from woman because of mommy issues. Woman leaves rancher until rancher realizes he needs woman in "every" way. They reunite to have all kinds of sex....The end.
Okay, I know it's erotica, but this book had one (or two) sex scenes too many. I felt exhausted and sore. The ending made no sense at all, but you don't read these books for the plot.. However, that being said, with judicious reading and skimming, I feel this could be a very fine book (ie it just need better editing) And despite my criticisms it's still a keeper for me. It's a hot, hot book.

Book one in the Unchained series. Jessica Sterns has always been a good girl, doing right, dating right, following all the right rules. Now, at twenty-nine, thanks to a life change, she's got a whole lot of catching up to do, and a whole lot of bad girl to let loose. It's just a question of finding the right man. At first glance, Mac Hollister appeared to be just that man. The tall rugged rancher practically oozed testosterone, while his indolent posture, easy confidence and raw masculinity just screamed "bad boy". The kind of man women spin dark fantasies around. The kind of man she's looking for. The minute the honey-blonde sets her dainty foot on the sidewalk in Round The Bend, Mac knows he's in trouble. From the top of her head with its long French braid, to the tips of her toes with their delicate pink polish, this woman defines elegance. Not the kind of woman he prefers, but no amount of logic can dissuade his interest once he sees Jessie's smile. He's always been a sucker for a sense of humor. Especially when it comes packaged with a killer body and an equally killer wit. Mac expects their affair to be short, sweet and safe, but he soon discovers that beneath that delicate image lurks a woman who can handle all the "bad boy" he can throw at her. She's everything he never expected to find, and what started out short-term soon becomes a relationship that will demand a compromise he's not sure he can make in order to keep the one woman he can't imagine living without.

(Nice easy read, very erotic paranormal romance)

(Return to Me)

(Less Than Satisfying Read)

(Remarkable! Sensually Passionate - Well Done!!!!)

(Amazing, beautiful story!)
I picked up this book on a whim - I've never read anything by this particular author before nor had I ever heard about this title from fellow reader friends. I found it to be a delightful find!

The story line is easy to follow, the romantic scenes were hot and steamy, and it really is a no fuss read. I actually finished this book in one sitting (in flight to family vacation destination) and felt engaged nearly the entire time.

The only little complaint I had with this book was the writers use of the Scottish accent - sometimes it became a little annoying/distracting but nothing that would result in me putting the book down. There is a male/male romance in this story that may not be appealing for all readers, although I thought it was written beautifully and really added to the story.

Overall, great and easy paranormal erotic romance!

WARNING: This book contains EXPLICIT sex scenes that may not be appropriate for more conservative readers.

1314

Darius MacLeod and his brother Demetri were turned by a vampire named Remont. Darius' wife Rose was terrified when she found out. She refused to accept him and ran from him. When she died, Darius blamed himself. For centuries since then, Darius has taken lovers but has never loved again.

London, 1818

Gabrielle Fairmont is being forced to marry Lord Sutherland. He is a cruel and evil man and Gabrielle is desperate to escape her fate. When Daruis and Gabrielle meet at a ball, Daruis is struck by Gabrielle's resemblance to Rose. He is overjoyed that he may have a second chance at love with her. Gabrielle senses a familiarity with Darius as well and is drawn to him. Will she still feel the same when she finds out he is a vampire though? Will she have a chance to? Sutherland has no intention of letting Gabrielle go.

Return To Me is full of excitement, danger, and eroticism. Darius and Gabrielle's relationship is sensual and poignant, as is Demetri and Remont's. Remont and Demetri have a long and tumultuous history but it ultimately develops into something wonderful. The time Darius and Gabriel spent in Darius' bed and Demetri and Remont's heart to heart are very passionate and loving. I love Demetri and Remont, their lives are fascinating and their love is beautiful. Darius and Gabrielle complement each other very well, both in personality and appearance. Return To Me is another shining example of Julia Templeton's wonderful storytelling ability.

reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

If you're looking from some simple erotica that lacks any sort of complicating depth then this might be the perfect escape for you. If you're looking for a romance with a solid plot, or interesting characters I'd look elsewhere.

Gabrielle Fairmont steps out of a Mary Sue fanfic into this story as a super special, kind, gorgeous damsel in distress that also has super special magic powers and may be the reincarnation of a vampire's tragically deceased wife. Early in the book the author tries to fool us into thinking Gabrielle is a strong, independant figure who shapes her own destiny by plotting an escape from her murderous fiance and learning to survive on her own. This is apparently a fluke on Gabrielle's part, as she spends the rest of the book once vampire hunk Darius rescues her tottering between useless and TSTL (that's 'too stupid to live'). Gabrielle demonstrates the latter element to us perfectly with such brilliant ideas as 'Well I've been having visions of my murderous psycho fiance following me here, and it's daylight so my crew of vampire protectors are all deeply asleep because they burn in the sunlight, but I think now is a wonderful time to go outside the protection of the manor and sit alone in the sunlight on a hill to ponder'. We're supposed to believe this girl survived on her own for any length of time?

The problems with characterization certainly don't end there. Darius, a warrior turned vampire that lost his wife as she was fleeing him, is a flat character. The only thing that stands out about him is that he is 'anatomically impressive' and we are reminded of this repeatedly. Throughout the book the vampires carry a burden of being 'monstrous' except that there isn't really anything remotely monstrous or threatening about them. They feed off their lovers, who retain no memory of being bitten and behave with unfailing civility. Other characters that pass through the story are stereotypical, with good characters portrayed as attractive and 'bad' characters portrayed as being fat, drunk, and anatomically unimpressive. This book carries a naive sense of unerring black and white, so that the characters more resemble caricatures than actual humans.

The relationship between Gabrielle and Darius is virtually nonexistant. They meet, he later saves her, and they start having sex. From then on the book is a constant stream of sex occasionally interrupted by the secondary romance between Darius's vampiric brother and sire. Oh, and there's the whole 'dangerous ex-fiance' matter too, which is both unsuspenseful and largely uninvolved. Gabrielle does have flashes of memories from her past life, but not enough to justify the quick and easy relationship with Darius. The plot here actually had a lot of potential for interesting conflict, but none of it was tapped. There is no conflict or real obstacles for their relationship.

By contrast, the relationship between Remont and Demetri is by far more interesting, but largely overlooked in favor of more Gabrielle/Darius sex scenes. Even this slightly more interesting plot line fails, because we are never given a good reason why Demetri cheats, and the resolution between them is anti-climatic at best.

There are dozens of other complaints I could make, but I've rambled on long enough. To conclude, I found this book to be boring, and uninspired. Don't let the descriptions on the book fool you- this has nothing to do with romance and everything to do with repetative sex.

Often times when I have been absorbed by a story I find it difficult to know where to start. I sit staring at a blank page until I feel confident enough to put down how much the story thrilled and moved me. This was one of those times.

On the battlefield of Bannockburn in 1314, Darius MacLeod lay dying, thinking never to see his beloved Rose or unborn babe when a young man with kind green eyes, approached him. His name was Remont and asked if Darius wanted to live an immortal life, never to age, never to die. Before Darius could answer and about to take his final breath; his brother Demetri made the decision pleading with Remont to change Darius. Several days later when Darius returned home to his pregnant wife Rose, he was a changed man. Several people told Rose they saw Darius receive a mortal blow and wary of his recent behavior she questioned him. Horrified by his confession, Rose ran, falling down stairs killing herself and their unborn child.

Five hundred years later and invited to attend a ball to meet Demetri and Remont, Darius was shocked to meet Lady Gabrielle Wentworth whose resemblance to Rose was astonishing. Feeling as if his heart had sprung to life, he knew he must save Gabrielle from Sutherland. Instinctively knowing in his heart that Gabrielle was the reincarnation of his beloved Rose, he also worried if she would run from him in horror if she discovered what he was.

Gabrielle had been betrayed by her only living relative. Her uncle needing money to pay off his creditors sold her "sight unseen" to the despicable Lord Sutherland, rumored to have murdered four of his previous wives. Gabrielle is a healer with the gift of sight, and knows after marriage, Sutherland will kill her. Meeting Darius, Gabrielle senses a familiarity that she's known Darius, but with her `sight' she also `knows' what he is. During a commotion at the ball, she makes good her escape into the night, but who immediately senses the loss of Darius in whose arms she had felt safe.

*** I was completely absorbed and emotionally drawn in to this exquisitely written and passionate love story. The author held me emotionally captive from beginning to end. Initially showing Darius to be a young man in the prime of life when fate intervened grabbed my heart. He had found his true love with Rose and was awaiting the birth of a child conceived of that love. Though not his decision to be changed, he could never have imagined the tragedy to follow. The authors portrayal of after five hundred years and Darius finally finding the woman he'd never forgotten was portrayed in such a way it brought tears to my eyes.

Characterized as a young woman with special powers, Gabrielle was special from her initial introduction into the story. As serious as the drama of this story was I actually had a chuckle or two when Gabrielle, who kept her powers hidden for the most part, threw a couple of uncomfortable spells towards Sutherland when he was at his most repulsive behavior. My admiration for this autho'rs originality in Gabrielle's ingenuity and resourcefulness after her escape from the ball, in finding shelter and a way to fund her escape out of London was inspired. In another scene, Gabrielle's gift to Darius was so filled with emotion it brought tears to my eyes and is one instance that was truly unforgettable.

Not only was I captivated by the adventure and romance of Gabrielle and Darius, but Remont and Demetri's story also held me spellbound. As the vampire who had turned both Demetri and Darius, Remont came across as truly compassionate and caring and I was rooting for him to find the happiness he deserved after centuries of existence.

In short RETURN TO ME is a remarkable, sensually passionate, well-written and incredible paranormal historical novel that must be read by both paranormal and historical fans alike.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book by Julia Templeton!

Personally, it immediately gets 5 stars just for having a wonderful, beautiful M/M romance along with the main characters' developing story. It was incredibly refreshing to read the scenes between Demetri and Remont and see them work through their relationship.

Aside from that, the love story between Darius and Gabrielle is just beautiful, sweet, and incredibly romantic. And hot. Did I mention hot?

I started reading it the other night and could NOT put it down! I finished it the same night and now am eager to read what else she has written and what she will come up with next.

Betrayed by her uncle, the magically inclined Lady Gabrielle Wentworth has been sold into a betrothal with a man who will surely be her ruin. To survive-and to avoid being labeled as a witch-she must accept the help of a five-hundred-year-old vampire who's as dangerous to her chaste body as he is to her fragile heart.

(A raucous homoerotic romp)

(a porno book)

(Hilarious and bawdy)

(Oh. My. Gawd.)

("The Back Passage")
Indeed, this sexually explicit novel is not meant for everyone. As other reviewers have pointed out, there are many cases of gratuitous gay sex throughout the book. The detective of the day, Edward "Mitch" Mitchell, is a randy detective surrounded by host of randy constables, household guests and servants. Mitch is a wonderfully witty character with a holster of camp humor and a raging libido. For those readers who might enjoy a homo Hercule Poirot, this will be a fun and fast read (unless, of course, the reader decides to revisit certain passages of the text!). Overall, this is a fun book, but admittedly not everyone's "cup of tea."
You know how some books are made into movie adaptations. Well, think of *The Back Passage* as a book adaptation of a gay porn. Really!

Mitch is an American student studying in Cambridge. Well, really, he's not studying. He's too busy "doing it" with all the guys he encounters in his "room and board". He's doing it with his roommate, his sidekick, a driver, a bobby (cop) and even a guy he hates. Like I said, he's just doing every guy...all the while he's investigating a death.

Keep in mind that if and when you get this book, it's just purely for entertainment. Don't expect an impressive storyline or character development. Just get this for a good naughty read.

I loved this book. The writing style, in first person, is so smooth you never get bogged down inside the mind of the narrator where so many others fail who try this point of view. It flowed flawlessly and you never even noticed it was from one man's perspective. I laughed out loud at some of the scenes. It was such a wonderful parady of the old whodunit I thought it was brilliant. And the narrator/author knows darn well it's tongue-in-cheek because often he chides himself during his musing. The sex is abundant and reminds me of Fielding's Tom Jones, because everyone wants a piece. The scene with the reporter in the garage was particularly funny. Well, done. I recommend it to anyone who has a very good sense of humor and likes a wild and crazy ride.
I'm no prude, but there's just waaaaay too much getting-it-on going on in this one. The mystery is more of an aside, and a not-so-interesting one at that.

There are some things I like about this book: the characters are funny and likeable; the setting is lovely; the humor is consistent and made me laugh even while I was blushing.

That said, I'd read something else by this author in the hopes that there'd be fewer intimate goings-on and more substance.

(On the bright side, I am significantly more knowledgable about certain things than I ever expected to be.)

Interesting book. Once the plot 'thickened' and got moving, it was difficult to stop until finished. Lots of sex, humor when unexpected&funny. Maybe Lear should watch more BBC/WGBH productions to better understand the genre. Pretty good and I would read anything else he has if similar. Change the cover.
Agatha Christie, move over! Hard-core sex and scandal meet in this brilliantly funny whodunit.
A seaside village, an English country house, a family of wealthy eccentrics and their equally peculiar servants, a determined detective— all the ingredients are here for a cozy Agatha Christie-style whodunit. But wait— Edward“Mitch” Mitchell is no Hercule Poirot, andThe Back Passageis noMurder of Roger Ackroyd.Mitch is a handsome, insatiable 22-year-old hunk who never lets a clue stand in the way of a steamy encounter, whether it’s with the local constabulary, the house secretary, or his school chum and fellow athlete Boy Morgan, who becomes his Watson when they’re not busy boffing each other. When Reg Walworth is found dead in a cabinet, Sir James Eagle has his servant Weeks immediately arrested as the killer. But Mitch’s observant eye pegs more plausible possibilities: polysexual chauffeur Hibbert, queenly pervert Leonard Eagle, missing scion Rex, sadistic copper Kennington, even Sir James Eagle himself. Blackmail, police corruption, a dizzying network of spyholes and secret passages, watersports, and a nonstop queer orgy backstairs and everyplace else mark this hilariously hard-core mystery by a major new talent.

(Loved it)

(A five-star review for a five-star book.)

(Best anthology ever from this publisher...)

(Feeling hot hot hot)
Wow, this was the first in my books I began reading. Once again loved it. The passion, and feelings totally made me addicted to others like this. Since I've been with my first girlfriend for 6 and 1/2 years I'm totally addicted to knowing when it happens to others. Love it and will look for more.

Great Buy

Hot, hot, hot action in this book! It's really amazing how they keep the suspense, the seduction and the erotica flowing. I loved every single story and thought the writing was good, too. In effect: I can't say enough about this book but this--buy it!! I also liked The Other Woman: A Story of Ménage à Trois for the erotica as well.

It's all of these things, and you'll find all these things represented in this book. Oh, and did I mention it's super-duper hot? Oh man, is it ever.
