Hot! A Page-Turner! Covers all kinds of styles, flavors, desires and kinks of Dominance and submission. The only thing hotter is if you are living the life style! For those curious, not sure, sitting on the fence.....this will be the deal breaker. Cause you either want more of it, want to join some club or group...... or too faint-hearted, not your cup of tea - and now you are sure.
To be honest the stories within this book are very basic, they dont give much detail, nor is there anything other than a bit of spanking, and light bondage described.

Maybe i've become more hardcore but, in all honesty the stories to me were just very boring and vanilla. If your just buying it to get the free super saver shipping then it might be worth your time but there are plenty of other books that are in many ways worth your money more than this one....

Have read about half of each side so far, and only one story I really didn't like. (Didn't seem to fit into the genre.) The rest, however, have been either good or great. The book is divided into two sides, "Master" and "slave." Interesting format, but the stories are worth it no matter the setup. One or two I have seen in other collections, but they are worth a re-reading. Been keeping me up nights, too worked up to sleep... :-) Looking forward to the rest.
Don't waste your time. The four good stories-at an average of three pages each-are not worth the money for this book. If you really feel like you HAVE to have it, buy a used copy, or find one to trade with someone!

(THE PERFECT COUPLE AND STORY)

This was the first Lisa Marie's book I read and surely will not be the last! This story is beautiful! Of course, it's romantic! We are not reading a non-fiction book! And it was the first time I read a romantic story which describes the hero as "ugly". In general, the men are always very handsome... Frankly, Douglas for me is the most beautiful of them all... And Allegra, in spite of her exquisite beauty, dealt bravely with her life after what had happened to her. Douglas' passionate support was at the same time touching and enticing. I've already ordered the other two books of this series, "Midnight Man" and "Midnight Run". Congratulations Lisa Marie!
I did not like this book; it was boring and predictable. Neither main character appeared real and the story line was not interesting. I was looking for more authentic romance from a book about navy seals. I would not purchase another romance novel about navy seals.
It's all about how big ugly Douglas and blind Allegra find hot, earthy true love. In the blink of an eye basically. Seeing how it's an Elloras Cave print novel. There's also a cracking good secondary plot about Allegra being stalked by a low-life killer on the orders of an imprisoned high-life killer.

The big let-down is that the psychological tension is built up very effectively but then the whole situation is resolved much too quickly. In the space of one chapter basically. On the other hand. Midnight Angel is a romance. So maybe that's the only plot that needed to be completed properly.

Not for one minute did I believe that the main couple have a long-lasting HEA. So much effort was put into depicting Douglas's ugliness. Allegra's gratitude will only last so long. Then it's 'Goodbye Douglas.' Poor man. One broken heart coming up.

The story also touches upon issues like what happens when a girl says 'No' to the men in her life. OMG. The author dares to talk about the political affiliations of the hero. I liked that. Then there's all that alpha, red, 3 o'clock stuff which I didn't understand but enjoyed reading through. Also the main couple have shared interests that bind them. Music, good food.

However. The heroine does unfortunately express some quite intolerant views about her blindness. No excuse. Seeing how she is probably not a Republican! tee hee. Plus Allegra hasn't even begun to feel any guilt about her part in the father's murder. Did she really have no idea that Corey was a psycho waiting to happen? Of course she did. That's why she asked her Pop to go with her to the contract-breaking meeting with Corey. Really another 2 or 3 chapters minimum should have been written in to make the novel a Stephen King-like tome.

Wow! That would have made a magnificent read.

I liked this book a lot. I liked the other 2 stories in the series and can't wait for more!
I love Douglas so much, his voice, his scar, his nose!

Lisa Marie Rice brings us the final installment of the Midnight series. MIDNIGHT ANGEL is not quite as good as the other two books. I think there is to much emphasis on the ugliness of Douglas and the beauty of Allegra. It seems we should understand that he couldn't get a girl like her if she wasn't blind. So the first chapters are kind of unbelievable. Then there is very little story, most of the book is romantic encounters.

I looked forward to this book and I have to say it disappointed me. The idea of beauty and the beast is very seductive, but the author over did the differences between them. I am not saying the book is bad, no, it is good enough to read, just know that it doesn't get going until half way through the book.

Allegra has a beautiful voice and after a terrible tour she decided to end her relationship with her manager. He lost it and tried to kill her, he did kill her father who was with her, and beat her so bad she is blind. She doesn't accept her blindness and plans to have a dangerous surgery to fix the clot on her brain.

Douglas is very tough looking, the book says like a thug, then he has a horrible scar on one cheek. Nevertheless, he loves music and when he hears Allegra play and sing he is hopelessly caught in her web. Knowing he looks horrible he knows he has no chance with the beautiful woman.

This book begins where the other two end, at the museum where Susanne's creations hold the Jewels of the Czar's. Douglas saves Allegra and helps Midnight and Bud put down the robbery. Douglas takes her home and never leaves. It seems someone is stalking her and scareing her to death.

Douglas finds out about the attack and when she is scared by whispers from her attacker, he pulls out all the stops to find out where the manager is and what he has done.

I read it and it was OK but it could have been better.

I was completely won over by this author in her debute and can't wait to read any and everything else she writes. I love sci-fi stories and especially ones where the most unlikely pair up and find love. I love strong, powerful take no prisoner males and a female who gives as good as she gets and loves submitting to their "punishment".
Aliens (of the dreamy, tall handsome kind) have made contact with the desperate hopes of being able to repopulate their war ravaged planet (which caused the death of almost all the females) with females from Monica's neck of the woods. Kellen is the commander of this fleet and he will be working with doctors to assure that the girls meet the physical requirements to mate with his people. Monica feels extremely lucky to have been chosen as a doctor to accompany the women who are picked to bond with the alien species. She does not hold any illusions that one of these hunky males will want her, suffering from various abnormalities (from her size to her teeth) she does not believe anyone could want her.
During a demonstration (which involved one of the alien men and one of Monica's cohorts, you can guess what was being observed...lol) Kellen notices that Monica has started exhibiting signs of pheremone overdose, which leads Kellen to believe she may be an alien hybrid. Immediately he requests authorization to mate her, he also gets to pick a 2nd mate for Monica so he chooses Shauss (one of Kellen's most trusted friends). At this point Monica starts to mature, turning into a knockout that Kellen and Shauss cannot keep their hands off of, but they are quick to let her know that they are in charge. How will Monica react when she realizes that not one, but 2 of the hunky men are determined to have her? Will Kellen and Shauss be able to share equally? Read this book and find out.

This was a fun erotic novel to read. I did not find it deeply moving but nevertheless it was an interesting book with great erotica. It could have done without the genital abnormalities that both affect the aliens and Monica have but it did not focus too much on that so my rating was not altered by much. This story starts out extremely confusing with the alien race and the humans, but as you move thru the tale Robin straightens everything out. As an erotic novel you will need to expect a little bondage and sub/dom situations in this story, along with threesomes. I really would have preferred that Kellen and Shauss become intimate but it was still good regardless. I recommend this book for erotica fans that can handle some alien physical abnormalities.
This was an interesting book to read, it was completely different from anything I've ever read. I thought it was well written and I liked all the characters you really wanted them to work everything out and get together. Can't wait for more out of this series.
How often can you find erotica that makes you laugh and turns on your burners at the same time? Monica, who all of her 32 years has been out of the sexual loop, suddenly finds herself in it with a vengeance. She's dealing with two dominant aliens who know how to make her squirm and she finds, to her chagrin, that she loves it. Rotham has created a heroine who you can delight in and cheer for and an alpha and his buddy that won't take no for an answer, thank goodness!
Like one of the other reviewers stated -- not an orginal storyline but she put enough twists in to keep interest. Liked all the characters involved even tho I'm not into stories with threesomes it still was a good read.

I loved this book!! The way the author can combine the hot sex with the snorting humor is priceless. The characters were all well-rounded, extremely likable, and basically...hot as he**! I'll definitely add Ms. Laurenston to my "must have" list.
I was desperate for something new to read and decided to take a chance when I saw this book at the store. The Mane Event blew me away! I haven't laughed quite that hard in a while. I actually laughed so hard, I would have to put the book down to catch my breath. If you love alpha males And alpha females, you will really enjoy this book. This is an awesome erotica paranormal romance. As soon as I finished it(in record time), I looked Shelly Laurenston's books up on Amazon and ordered more. I can't wait to read The Mane Attraction.
My first book by Shelly Laurenston and I devoured it! As another reviewer has so aptly said - a guilty pleasure kind of novel - a light and romantic read - in the style of Susan Elizabeth Phillips - but with very steamy and erotic scenes laced in.

The book contains two stories that are linked together.

Christmas Pride - the first novel. It deals with Mace - a very sexy, shape shifter, x-Seal officer. His pack is a Pride of lions. He returns from his tour of duty back to NYC with his shape shifter Seal buddy - "Smitty" - who is all wolf. When he arrives at his sisters' house, the place is bursting with NYPD and in the mist is Desiree - the only woman he has loved and still desires. Mace can't believe that Dez has matured into one of the most stunning women that he has ever seen. For both, the remembrance of their high school crush is a warm, sweet memory - however for Mace, now that he has seen Dex again - he is going to have her - and what Mace wants Mace gets. No easy feat there - since Dez is a very independent, sure-footed and tough female great cop - with a no-nonsense "I will kick your butt" attitude.

The murder of one of the male members of Mace's pride is being investigated which creates for some great, on the edge of your seat moments - as Dez comes face to face some with some real nasty shape shifters. But Mace is there to protect his mate, though Dez proves time and again that she's one tough cookie and can take care of her own - a very worthy heroine for this majestic and sexy King of the Jungle!

I loved the way Mace and Dez come together - their pleasure is quite delicious and will have you squirming on your seat... Packed with great, witty and hilarious repartee and situations (you will love the reaction of Dez's two, super tough Rotweilers to Mace - and also the group of tough NY male, mothering cops whose top priorityis to protect Dez!) makes this is a great start to THE MAIN EVENT.

In Shaw's Tail - the second novel - we've meet Shaw at the climactic end of Christmas Pride. The relationship that develops between Shaw and Ronnie Lee - a member of Smitty's wolf pack is steamy and tender. Shaw is taken by Ronnie Lee - who has stayed behind at the hospital while Shaw is recovering. After his recovery - he finds her staying in his hotel with Smitty's pack and starts wooing her. Ronnie Lee has been in some gnarly relationships and is now pretty independent. He knows he can't just pounce and claim her - as he has realized that he wants her to stay. A slow courtship is what Ronnie Lee needs so she doesn't feel trapped and leaves.

Again - like in the first novel - the repartee is funny, witty and liberally sprinkled with laugh out loud situations. Their coming together is equally as steamy and there are also some lighthearted and very poignant moments. The relationship between Shaw and his siblings - younger brother - (black sheep of the family) and the "I play tough - but am really not" loving sister is very endearing.

In the end - it is very clear that cats and dogs really do get along!!!

I loved this novel and highly recommend it!!! The sensuality level throughout this novel is very high - bordering on erotica. Quite remarkable how Laurenston has interweaved such great sex, with marvelous characters and a superb, light and romantic read! Definitely recommended to paranormal lovers - that love sexy novels. NOTE - The next book is about "Smitty" - THE BEAST IN HIM.

CAUTION! The language and graphic, sexual content may bother some readers. So definitely not for the weak kneed and easily offended readers. If the books on your shelf are Barbara Cartland - then this is not the light and fluffy read that you may be used to!

WOW! The main characters are really interesting. This is not your usual pride/pack leader meets girl series. There is a whole pack involved in the story. And do they get into some funny situations. You actually hold your breath and don't realize it until the end. I will be continuing this series.
If you like your characters "not nice" but definitely appealing, get your hands on this book. These are not your usual shifters but down-home folks with flaws and edges. I've been a fan of Shelly Laurenston for years and will buy anything I see her name on. I have to be careful where I read her books as I always end up laughing aloud.

Caine Allen is a Texas Ranger and a member of Hell's Eight, a group of rough men who have fought and killed their way to a reputation of being ruthless, fearless, and ambitious. When Caine and his friends are sent after a group of kidnapped women, Caine is almost disappointed at how stupid the kidnappers are. They haven't managed to cover their tracks very well and the women can be heard screaming from a distance. It's going to be his pleasure to put these idiots out of their misery. But when Caine gets closer to their camp, one of the women catches his eye. With long blond hair and big blue eyes, she stands one to one against her captors with nothing but grit and determination to protect her--and she puts a pretty big fight.

Caine soon learns that this woman is name Desi, and she's the one he's specifically been sent to retrieve. The other women in the party are jealous of her, calling her scandalous names and implying that she has a way of tempting men that is unholy. And Desi doesn't defend herself against their accusations. What she does do is run. Repeatedly. She tells Caine that if he takes her back to her people, she'll die there, and the look in her eyes lets him know that she means it. When Caine gets back to town and sees the untrustworthy guardian she's been assigned and how his hands clench when he looks at Desi, and the guardian's friends who all look at Desi with lust in their eyes, he knows he can't leave her there. Making good on the promise to take care of her, Caine takes Desi back to Hell's Eight with him, where he can protect her and know that she's safe. And the only way to get away with it is to make her his wife.

Caine's Reckoning, Sarah McCarty, and the Hell's Eight books have just gone on my auto-buy list. This book was so good! To begin with Caine, I couldn't think of a better hero. He's alpha, protective, dependable, and hot hot hot! From the minute he decides that Desi's going to be his, that's the end of it. And when he learns the treatment that she suffered at the hands of her guardian and his cronies, the second thing on his list of things to do becomes to avenge her honor. But first he's got to take care of his woman and let her know that she's safe. And boy, does he.

If you've got a problem with damaged heroines, this is certainly not the book for you. Desi is broken by the time Caine gets to her, though she's still got a lot of fight left. It's just she's had to endure a harsh life--her parents were killed, her sister is missing, and she's been used and abused for so long she doesn't believe that she actually deserves to be treated gently. Even though Caine and his friends do nothing to rile her, everything to show her that she's safe with them and that they'll protect her, the past abuse colors her judgment from the start.

I know a lot of people think this book is too long, but because of Desi's past, I felt every bit of it was necessary. The thoughtful, careful descriptions of how Caine breaks down the walls she's erected, the tender, gentle way that he cares for her and gains her trust, and the time and care he takes to show her that what happened to her wasn't her fault and that he is not going to let her past affect their future, were absolutely integral to the plot and I wouldn't have had it any other way. This book was so so good that if I hadn't finished it at midnight I probably would have gone out right then and bought the next book in the series, Sam's Creed (Hell's Eight). I'm DYING to know what happens next in this series, and can't wait to get my hands on some of McCarty's other books. If you like erotic romance that doesn't shy away from harsher topics, if you like your heroes alpha, and if you're wondering where all the good western romances have gone, Caine's Reckoning has got you covered on all fronts.
I am a big Sarah McCarty fan and I have all of her Promise Series books. I was exitedly looking forward to her books with the new publisher but I fear that the editors that work for Harlequin messed with something that wasn't broke. The ebooks under this author with Ellora's Cave are fantastic. They are easy reads and the stories flow, allowing your mind to envision yourself right in the old west. In Cain's Reckoning the storyline is sound the characters are well developed and you feel that you can get to love them but in the love scenes it's like Harlequin didn't want it to be too erotic. The scene will be rolling along and then just cut off leaving you wondering what the hell happened. On several occasions I had to go back and re-read a section to get a clear picture of what was going on in the scene. They chopped it up and edited it to within an inch of its life, so much so that it's disjointed like a dvd that skips and starts at another place further along. I feel that the editor of this book cut out a lot of vital imagery that would have made the story rock. I think Sarah McCarty made a huge mistake when she contracted with Harlequin because their spice line is much too prim for her stories and they ruin what could have been a novel on the level of her Promise Series books.
I devoured Sarah's past books within hours and enjoyed each one in her Promise series but sadly she's had to cut some of the "steam" you'd witness in her other novels in my opinion. Sadly the retail book world is not ready for an electrifying author like Sarah and you can see as such in this book and the editing of the love scenes.

Sadly this one is a bit lacking. I adore the author with a passion but I hope this novel doesn't set the scene for upcoming novels by Spice!

I agree with the other reviewers that mentioned the book was too long as well. I wouldn't have minded if it was as good as the Promise series but it was seriously grating on my nerves towards the end and I had grind myself towards the disappointing finish.

You needn't like westerns to love this book. Caine is the epitome of 'alpha-hunk'-a man of passion, compassion, warmth, depth, understanding&humor.

Desi is fearless, many times to her detriment. Her will&stubborness, combined with Caine's personality, make for an often laugh-out-loud-humorous read.

The length of a novel wouldn't bother if I am hooked on the story, however, this wasn't the case. The details of each day became ponderous. About 250 pages in, I realized the characters were only in day two or three-they met in the first few pages-and they hadn't done anything interesting. I actually would skip two or three pages at a time and realize I didn't miss a thing.

Desi's character, while I can sympathize to an extent with her, got on my nerves by the end of the book when she still had the same 'issues' with Caine. Personally, even without her personal problems, I didn't see anything lovable about her. What did Caine see in her?

While the love scenes were hot, they certainly didn't make me blush. I bought this book based on the rave reviews, however, I was not impressed.

(One of the better "Letters" I've read.)

This Penthouse collection is one of the better ones I've read. Some of them tend to drag on and on, but this one didn't do that. The letters were hot and realistic, which I really liked. I highly recommend this one to other reads, along with another erotica book I also liked: Slave Ship and Other Stories.
This book is full of sexy tales of men and women who are turned on by the most incredible situations. LETTERS TO PENTHOUSE XXIX offers the chance to enter the homes and not-so secret sex lives of those wild men and women with crazy fetishes.

I love Mary B. Morrison and this book is great just like the others. Her first series i think was a little more interesting but this one is just starting out, so let's see. A great read and highly recommended
I was disappointed with this story myself. I got so sick of hearing benito curse the man rants, and Valentino calling himself a g. Lace had the nerve to talk about p. power, I think Alexis Tylor may get sick if she read this. It was for a book club and unless the other ladies liked it..I won't be reading the series.
this is not a mary novel. very disappointed. i cannot explain what's wrong with mess. one thang for sure its not right.
Disjointed. Lacks character development. Motivation of Lace, Benito, Rita, Summer and Sonny are missing. Doesn't read like a Morrison novel. Other than some sexually stimulating text, there's nothing here. don't waste your money on this one.

I won't buy the next series but do await the return of the real Morrison books.
I thought Sweeter Than Honey was a great introduction into the Honey B series.
