(Yes! Yes! Yes! YES!!!!)
(Very entertaining!)
(Okay, but not her best in the bound series!)
(She's written better...) I love most of Lora Leigh's books, but this one was just okay. Most of the time her main characters (both male and female) are strong and witty. But this time, I found that Cam was kind of whiny. Don't get me wrong the sexual experiences are well written and very hot, I just prefer a guy who's not so torn about what he wants. I'm not always in the mood for a graphic novel... but Lord bless a graphic novel that can put you in the mood!!
I have a general tendency to skip over sex scenes in romance-type novel due to their "same-old, same-old" kind of scene... you know, "throbbing member" and "delicate flower." Boring is one thing this novel is not. Of course, it IS very explicit... right from the first 20 pages... but it's just so darn good! My first Lora Leigh book. This book could be " to be cntinued" . Very Good!! I never thought I would give a so-so review on a Lora Leigh book however, I need to say this was way to long and seemed to repeat itself over and over. After awhile I found myself asking the question, who cares about Cam??? Get on with it and over it.... On a more positive note, this is Lora Leigh and I love her books, so...if you are a die hard fan like me you might enjoy it. I like the Bound Heart series, Ian/Courtney (Bound Hearts: Shameless Embraces (Books 6 and 7)being one of my favorites so it was nice to see them again in this story. I liked Jaci's character - a strong woman for the most part that stood up for herself. The guys though...not enough development of Chase's character. It was like he was just hanging out there and brought into the story when he was needed for the sex scenes. Cam's character was too much of a whiner for my taste. He had it rough as a kid and that consequently drove him to repeatedly push Jaci away. The strong brooding man...it didn't come across well in the writing. Seemed a little forced. Overall, the book was ok but there are better in the Bound Hearts series. Gave it three stars for the sex scenes and Jaci's character.
FromNew York Timesbestselling author Lora Leigh comes the explosive new novel in her Bound Hearts series. Jaci Wright has been running from the Falladay twins, Chase and Cam, for seven years now. Fears of the desires they arouse in her, and the knowledge of the relationship they wanted with her, spurred her to run, to find a life that kept her traveling the globe and out of their reach. But now life has come full circle. A new job has placed Jaci in the Sinclair mansion with Chase and Cam. And they're tired of waiting. It's hard enough to face accepting a relationship with two men rather than just one, but gossip and the tattered tales of juicy secrets fill the society she now moves within. Can Jaci face the world knowing she's a lover to both men, or will her hesitancy and her fears destroy her chance of happiness forver? Rerations < Wicked Pleasure (Bound Hearts) >

(Where's the romance?)
(Turn up the air-conditioner!!!)
(GREAT BOOK)
(this book is scorching hot!!!) I FOUND THE STORY FULL OF SUSPENSE AND ADVENTURE. THE CHARATERS WERE BELIEVABLE AND I WAS UNABLE TO PUT DOWN UNTIL THE STORY WAS FINISHED. I agree with the other reviews, the sex scenes are hot. But I got no sense of love or romance between the 3 adult characters. To be honest, I didn't understand why they wanted to be together. In the "Brothers in Arms" books by Samantha Kane, the reader gets a clear sense of the love, committment, and tenderness the female and 2 male characters feel for each other. Devil's Pact was a waste for me. I felt nothing for the characters. If you want love and romance with your erotica, go with Samantha Kane for a loving threesome. This is one hot hunk of a story!! Devin Spawn is every woman's dream man, and then some! This book was expensive but very thick and worth the price, you will not be disappointed. The only suggestion I will make is turn your air conditioner to high because you will need it. The sex scenes in this story are more than hot! Good story, sexy and hot!! Highly recommend if you like western erotica. I LOVED THIS BOOK, 2 HOT GUYS, ONE LITTLE MISS PRISS, DONT PASS UP UP ON THIS BOOK, YOU WONT BE SORRY this is the most erotic book i've ever read...from the first page to the last. the best part? it's got a story that makes sense, no nonsense about it and everything comes together beautifully.
devin spawn is megan's stepson yet sparks fly as soon as they met and everything just builds up from there. caleb is megan's childhood sweetheart but she's staying away from him because she doesn't think she's good enough. who can she choose? can she have one without losing the other?
the little sisters are a great touch and show us the softer side of devin and makes him more humane.
the author did a great job with this book and i'm now a fan. i'll be sure to read her other books when they come out. get this, you won't regret it. DEVIL'S PACT [Erotic Western Romance/ Menage a Trois]: Epitome of pure evil, born without a heart, soul, or conscience...even his parents did not claim him. He is an outlaw who takes what he wants... The moment Devin Spawn stumbles upon the exquisite beauty bathing alone in a river, he wants her. Morality non-existent, yet he struggles to keep his distance. His sexual excesses and massive proportions would be too much for the tiny girl who appears more waifish and innocent than womanly. She is a widow with so much to give... The instant Megan Spawn feels his heated touch and potent sensuality, her flesh burns with wanton desires. It matters little he is the devilishly handsome outlaw known as the Devil's Spawn, the most feared, lethal gunslinger in the West-and her stepson. Together they risk everything in the devil's playground... Where sexuality is as untamed as the bloodthirsty savages roaming the western frontier, and childhood sweetheart Caleb Walker is guilty as sin, the dark side of lust and passionate surrender comes at a hefty price when you forge a Devil's Pact. ** 5 Angels, Fallen Angel Recommended Read: "Devil's Pact is the kind of book for people like me who enjoy reading about an overly aggressive testosterone filled man in love. Devin is not a gentleman; he's crude, kind of mean but the same passion he uses when killing is exactly what he brings to the bedroom. Samantha Cruise's historical feast was more than just a well developed story with guns, danger, mayhem and delicious wickedness. Devil's Pact was a story that sucked me into the emotional upheaval of the characters. I was right there during the orgasmic interludes that left me sweating and anxious for more. I was with them as they attempted with their bodies to say what each found so hard to say with words. I can't say enough how much I actually loved this book, all 497 pages of it. A story that had me on the hook from the first encounter with Meg to the final culmination when finally a decision was made on if Devin and Megan could make it, if their passion was more than rabid frenzy lust but something life altering, something meant to be forever. Caleb, the third in the ménage, was just icing on a cake already flowing with goodies, but he wasn't Devin: a man readers will go away loving or detesting. That is why I think Ms. Cruise did a great job no matter the impression you get, strong love or hate for some of her characters. She did something special by seducing you into the story to feel anything at all." --Fallen Angel Reviews ** "Devin Spawn is an outlaw. Given away at birth by his father, Devin travels to his father's ranch to find out why. When he gets close, he comes across a tiny, beautiful woman bathing in the river. Since he has the devil inside of him, Devin does the one thing that comes natural to him--he seduces and makes her his own. There is one thing Devin doesn't know. He has just had relations with his stepmother. Megan Spawn has had a tough life. Rescued from a life of drudgery by her now deceased husband, she wants to spend her life caring for her stepdaughters and possibly being able to have a relationship with the town doctor, her first love, Caleb Walker. That is, until she is touched by the outlaw known as Devil's Spawn. Caleb Walker has loved Megan ever since she was a little girl. When his family caught them in the barnwhen they were teenagers and sent him away, Caleb has despaired of ever being able to be with Megan. He loves her and is willing to give her time. However, with the arrival of Devin Spawn, time may be running out because it seems that no matter how much Caleb loves her, she might not be his for thetaking. Samantha Cruise has written a ménage unlike any I have read and I plan to read anything else she releases. She caught my attention with Devil's Pact and I think she will hold it for a long time." --Joyfully Reviewed. Rerations < Devil's Pact >

(I didn't finish reading...) Tempting the Beast is the epitome of what Lora Leigh is all about. Raw, sexy, primal. She doesn't fail to deliver. If you are looking for sweet, star gazing, chaste love, don't get this book. Its hot, erotic sex to the extreme with an interesting story thrown in. If that's what you are looking for, this is your book! OMG, this is one the most tantilizing romanticas I have read. It is full of action, tempting banter, and vivid steamy scenes. It keeps you diving for more. every book that i have read by this Arthur has just been lustful and steamy. it's just none stop, must read. i really love all of her books, at least all the one's that i have read. but if you are thing about reading this book I'm tell you it's a must!!
Book Lover Tempting The Beast starts out with Merinus Tyler arguing with her testosterone loaded male family members that she is capable of tracking down Callan Lyons, a genetically modified male who could become the investigative story of the century. She argues that as a woman she can get Callan to talk to her. Understandably, her brothers and father are not excited by her logic. However, Merinus has been half in lust with Callan since the moment she saw his photo and can't deny this inexplicable pull to talk to him, to see him. The moment she does, that lust ramps up to something neither she or Callan can resist. It becomes a chemical and emotional reaction that terrifies Merinus. It is a complete loss of reason and all they can do is feed the raging mating lust that consumes them.
Callan Lyons has been hiding from the soldiers the Council members have been sending after him since he was twenty. He had been bred in their labs to become a perfect, genetically altered killing machine. One terrible explosion later and Callan and his pack members run for their lives, and their right to live. Luckily they have with them a scientist from the Council who cares for them and helps them understand the ever changing DNA complications in their bodies. When the mating heat strikes Callan and Merinus down hard, it is this evolving science that might save their Pride and bring Callan a sense of family. Unfortunately betrayal within their ranks brings the Council back into their lives and danger to Merinus. Callan's genetic lion DNA comes roaring to life at the thought of harm to his mate. His only hope might be to bring his Pride out of hiding and into the public eye but will that be enough to keep the Council off their backs and Merinus from their labs?
Lora Leigh's first book in the Feline Breeds series was one hot, orgasmic, shuddering, adjective filled romance. While some parts had me rolling my eyeballs, I still liked it. The beginning parts of the book had me practically panting and there were shivers running up and down my spine, as well as other naughty parts. I loved how Callan tried to pass himself off as just a man but when his lion side came roaring out, it was scorching! He finds this need to dominate and possess Merinus and when his barb emerges for the first time, it was seriously weird and damned hot at the same time. You'll have to read it to find out what I mean. And for those who like to know, there was no menage in this story. This was my second Breed book (I've read Megans Mark) and I can't wait to read more. I'm sorry, but I must have missed that this was an "erotic" book. This is not my type of book. I just looked at the number of good ratings, and I thought it would be a great book. I couldn't finish the book. When I started blushing in the 1st chapter, I knew I may not want to keep reading. Are you kidding me? Where is the story? It was almost like reading a recent LKH book, but it was worse. I really did not like the parts I finished. I would have given the book a 1 star, but I felt guilty. (easy to read) Good short stories to get you in the mood if you want. Caution to some folks that it's not all "vanilla" stories so if that is what you like you might want to pass on this one otherwise it's good. A brilliant compilation of some of the best erotic stories around. They are nice bite size pieces to get you in the mood for red hot passion. And if you've got a man handy, let the fire within blaze away. And if you haven't, just let your imagination run wild and free. A truly erotic potion, a must have book. Also look out for the equally hot 100 Percent Erotica its better than viagra my husband says. I enjoyed reading it, some stories are not as others but on the whole it is an interesting point of view on erotic literature; thanks I loved it and my husband loved it. This and Suzie Van Aartman's 100 Percent Erotica must be the best collection of erotic short stories ever put together. If you loved 2007 you will love this. My husband loves me to read the stories to him, which I try to do with the ultimate tease and it never fails to turn him on, and after he never fails to please me. So yes its great, we can't get enough of this genre, and we await the 2009 edition with our tongues hanging out. this book is the type of book you need to be relaxed to read. A nice glass of wine, a couple of stolen moments and you're off to another world

(Surprisingly Good)
(Wow!!!) This book, along with the excellent Slave Ship and Other Storiesby Reggie Chesterfield has been the one of the best things I've read in a long time - and I'm not just talking about erotica. It's very steamy and is just an all around well-written book. Goodness, what a good book. Great story plot, passionate and intense sex. Well written!!!! I loved this book. It was very well written and featured very hot and steam menage a trois, some of the best I've read. It also featured a wonderful romance. This is my first Lora Leigh book. I expected to be able to ridicule and slam this book but after finishing it in about a 4 hour time span I was left thinking "that's not half bad". I can see now why she's a best selling author.
The characters are somewhat formulaic and it's light on plot/heavy on sex but that's exactly what makes this a good escape-type book. Great book for when you're longing for something light and fun that you don't have to think too hard about. I'll keep these sorts of books in mind when I'm short on time because this would have been easy to pick up/put down without losing the plot or forgetting who is who in the storyline.
Normally I tend to read books that make me think or where I learn something or that touch my heart and while I still prefer what I read to have a little more substance, I will definitely keep Ms. Leigh on my list of authors to visit now and again. Great book for summer reading at the beach or while on vacation. Just make sure your guy is handy for the graphic parts (and there's plenty of those). This is the second Bound Hearts book I've read and WOW!! It has an excellent plot, the characters are well written and the love scenes are erotic. It was an excellent book and I couldn't put it down. Thanks Lora!! I can't wait to read the other books in your Bound Hearts series.
People have heard of fleeting rumors about The Club. Located just outside Washington, D.C., only its members know where men go when they want to indulge the desire to share their women with a carefully selected male partner. However, Mac’s fantasies of sharing his wife haunt his dreams. And his passions. Unable to waitany longer to draw his best friend Jethro Riggs into his marriage, Mac invites Jethro to their home with the intention of drawing Keiley into the pleasures that only be achieved when two men love the same woman. But there’s more going on in Mac’s neck of the woods than a little additional pleasure. A past case, a stalker that likes to playing games and his wife is now in the middle of it all. Passion and pleasure, danger and desire combine as forbidden pleasure becomes an addiction none of them can escape.

(Fabulous)
(A book that holds your attention) Kell, the hero, is by far my favorite of the Durango team. I just love that Cajun accent! But Emily, the heroine, is my least favorite. Her constant whining, for lack of a better word, and her inability to stand up to her father were irritating to say the least. But the suspense in this book was great! A definite recommended read. i love how lora leigh writes about strong dominate men and kell is all that and more.Yet the females are strong women out side of the bed room and submit at the touch of their men.I look foward to reading the rest of loras books. This book is the best so far in Lora Leigh's Tempting SEAL's series. It had just the right amount of danger, sensuality, and intrigue. What made it stand out from the other books in the series (excluding Wildcard) is the framework of actual love and caring between the two main characters, Kell and Emily. I loved that Emily was not another tall, blonde, stick-thin character and that Kell- ripped, hard, sexy man- still fell for her. Definitely looking forward to the next installment in the series. This was the first book I read in the Tempting Seals series. I LOVED it and can honestly say after reading all of the others that it is my favorite! I found the characters of Emily and Kell to be a perfect match. The characters were in depth (as are all of the characters in the Seal's series) and the sparks flew anytime they were together in the same room. I just recently discovered Lora's books and have read as many as I can get my hands on! I've stuck mainly with the Tempting Seals series and the Nauti boy series. Kudo's for wonderful characters with depth and chemistry. This is the second book in the series and It's a good read. A must have.
SAVING LIVES IS HISMISSION. Tough-as-nails Navy SEAL Kell Kreiger is the best there is at searching, rescuing, and taking no prisoners…yet even the rush of ever-more dangerous missions isn’t enough to satisfy him. But when Emily Stanton, the one ray of light in Kell’s shadowy existence, is pursued by a ruthless drug lord, the rules of the game suddenly change—and Kell will have to go deeper undercover than he ever imagined... SAVING HER IS HIS PASSION. Emily has loved Kell ever since her father, a prominent politician, rescued him from a brutal life on the streets. They were kids then, too young to act on what was growing between them…but now that Emily is ready, the handsome, headstrong SEAL has decided he’s no good for her. Ever since he rescued her from Diego Fuentes’ compound, Kell’s only duty has been to keep Emily safe. But Fuentes isn’t finished with Emily—or Kell. And to protect Emily, Kell has no choice butto lay himself—body, soul, and secrets—bare…and fight against evil with all his heart.

(She's done it again!)
(Better than the last one)
(How many fathers?)
(Great series) I can't get enough of Merry Gentry's world. Love it. Better than the Anita Blake series. Love the play on Celtic lore, the love story, the push for non christian perspectives. Absolutely adore Dole. Laurell finally got a powerful man right, no breaking this one down into fluff like she did with her vampire hero in the Blake series. Great read. Just when I think I have figured things out she throws me a curve ball. I love it! =) This book was all that and a big bag of chips. Without giving away anything I was really happy and very sad at how things turned out for Merry. I cant wait to read Darkness, but I really hope we are done losing essential guards, especially Darkness. I think I would actually morn his loss. =)
Thanks Laurell! Your books are never a disappointment! :-D I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for Meredith to get pregnant already and for there to be some forward movement of plot in these books. Also, I was getting tired of the strung together scenes of sex...new magic...more sex...some more new magic.
This book really toned down on the sex, thank goodness. And, to be fair, the plot did inch forward infinitesimally. But this book was quite boring. It was a bunch of mirror conversations. First Merry talks to Taranis is the mirror for eleventy-billion pages. Then she talks to Andais for eleventy-more-billion pages. The she talks to the goblins. And then we hear about some more new creatures her sex has brought to life.
In the course of these conversations we get more of Stark Raving Crazy Andais, something of Skeevy Perv Crazy Taranis and of course there is Just Psycho Crazy Cel lurking off in the background. Talk about tedious characters. If Merry is so dang powerful why doesn't she off some of these people already? I do agree with Andais, Merry has turned into a wimp.
I remember the first book when she got her hand of power and used it. Actually, I remember the first book and so much happened just in that one book. Le Sigh. This book just ended horribly. It is not enough that the Anita Blake books are in the toilet but come on.... This ending was a cop-out on picking A king. Its awfully convient how LH makes up new "legends" to make the most pathetic ending "plauasble" This is not bad erotica or bad porn. While LKH is getting heat from her fans for her Anita Blake series, I find that there is no complaint for her Meredith Gentry books. I found this series to be a much better story and so far each book has proven satisfactory. However, unlike some series, and like her Anita |
