Every now and then I read a book that makes me wonder why in the world it took me so long to find the author and galvanizes me into shopping for their entire backlist. That is what happened for me with Karin Tabke's HAVE YOURSELF A NAUGHTY LITTLE SANTA. What I expected from this book was a sweet and sexy little holiday themed tale. What I got was that and much more - a story that comes to life on the every page, tweaking the readers' emotions along with the characters and leaving you feeling that you've experienced the story yourself.

Both the hero and the heroine are people who have been emotionally damaged in their youth, leaving them with strong walls built around their hearts designed to keep them safe from that dangerous thing called love. Kimberly handles her fear of love by brokering a relationship for business purposes only; Ricco simply runs at the first sign of commitment altogether.

When these people meet, the attraction is instant and explosive. Good thing for them, too, else neither might have stuck with it long enough to find there was something much more real and lasting underneath all that passion. As they both realize how much they have come to love each other, each must heal the wounds of their past so they can come together in a healthy way for their happy ending.

HAVE YOURSELF A NAUGHTY LITTLE SANTA is a beautiful love story about two people who find the strength together to heal themselves.

This was a great read! HOT! It was tons of sex all the time. If that's what you want this is perfect...I loved it! I immediately ordered the second book and have pre-ordered the third. Only 4 stars because it was too short! Hope this helps!
"I'm into simple, casual, uncomplicated sex." Erin Shay should have known that pronouncement would come back to haunt her, but who could have ever expected it to happen immediately? Erin might not be into relationships and commitment anymore, but she's not exactly built for casual sex, either. What's a girl to do? Do without, of course, and talk a big game to your friends. That's always served to keep men at arm's length - until she meets Kale Alexander.

Kale has had more than his share of casual, uncomplicated sex, although no one would use the word simple to describe it. With a long history as a Casanova, Kale is ready for something more, and realizes it the moment he meets the enigmatic Erin. His temporary assignment working with her on the Pleasure Prolonged project gives him the perfect opportunity to get to know her better - much better - and when he does, he realizes she just may be the perfect reason for leaving Los Angeles moving back to his Iowa hometown permanently...

I first discovered Cathryn Fox's work in the recently released anthology from Avon Red, Alluring Tales - Awaken the Fantasy, and went looking for more of her work immediately. When I found her Pleasure Games trilogy, the two books she has currently released for that series were first on my list.

Pleasure Prolonged is the second book of that series, and picks up where the first books leaves off. Our heroine, Erin Shay, had a supporting role in Pleasure Control, and Fox sets up this character's image quite deftly, convincing readers that Erin is footloose and fancy free, flitting from one man to another. We soon learn in Pleasure Prolonged that this is a façade she hides behind after some tragic experience in her romantic past. As the story begins, we find Erin determined to finally live up to the image she has carefully constructed, convinced that Kale Alexander is the perfect man for an uncomplicated fling. How perfectly ironic that the first man she attempts to have casual sex with turns out to be so much more than that!

While Kale is a new character for us in the second book, he is no less interesting. Fox does a wonderful job of engaging the reader with Kale's charm and personality in the very first few pages, and his history unfolds easily as we read further. Honestly, if Kale Alexander were the stuff most scientists were made of, I'd be applying for work in every laboratory I could find until I secured a job next to a hunky Alpha Male scientist type! Who can resist the magnetism of a man who combines wit and hunky good looks with intelligence?

Of course, we have the added bonus of a suspense plot in the story as Kale and Erin attempt to complete work on the Pleasure Prolonged product their lab has invented with a mysterious saboteur attempting to derail the project and steal the formula at every turn. And even while the author includes some tension filled moments of danger, she infuses them with doses of humor that had me laughing out loud!

Pleasure Prolonged is a fun romantic tale that manages to keep you on the edge of your seat with a careful blend of romantic heat and suspenseful plot. I personally can't wait for the next book in the series to be released!

Although this novel is shorter than Pleasure Control (only 194 pages here), the characters seemed more fleshed out and interesting. Like her other novel, this is another easy read - don't expect any big mystery or heavy duty plot. Although characters from her first novel, Pleasure Control are mentioned here, you don't need to read that book to enjoy this one. You can easily finish reading this book in an afternoon. It's a fun read - just don't expect much of a plot.

Erin Shay is thrilled to have been given the chance to head the team of researchers testing a new serum that is made to prolong a couple's sexual pleasure. With her best friends, Laura and Jay, on their honeymoon, Erin is now in charge. Add in the fact that her new assistant, Kale Alexander, is devastatingly handsome and sinfulness personified, and Erin can't wait to get started.

Kale Alexander is happy to be home for a while. Having lived in a large city for the past few years, Kale finds himself longing for more. Seeing Erin at his friend's wedding, he can't help but be intrigued. Though Erin is perceived as a wild wanton, her eyes tell a very different story. While Erin lets Kale know in no uncertain terms that she is the one calling the shots, he sets out to show her exactly what she is missing.

I quickly fell under the spell that was Kale Alexander. His charm and charisma captured my heart from his first interaction with Erin. He more than backed up all those non-verbal promises he made with his sensual, heated stares. Erin epitomized a real woman with realistic thoughts and genuine vulnerabilities. Still feeling the effects of a broken heart, she was cautious, but thankfully not cautious enough. I relished the time when she gave herself to the moment and succumbed to the pleasure.

PLEASURE PROLONGED is book two of the Pleasure Games Series by Cathryn Fox. Having read other stories by Ms. Fox, I jumped at the chance to read PLEASURE PROLONGED. I'm happy to say that I was not disappointed. Full of sexual tension and heated exchanges, this delightful book promised and delivered a great story. While I anxiously await the third book in this series, I plan to go back and re-read Pleasure Control. Hopefully, this will fulfill my need for a Fox "fix" until the next book releases.

I don't think it was so bad because i'm seeing the low ratings. I did like the way they met but i also felt that it took too long for them to meet the family because in the other 2 books before it kind of felt like a family affair everyone interacting together and getting to know each other. But overall i like the the story.
I received this book in a timely manner. It was in the condition that was advertised. I was happy to do business with this vendor.
It was a fun escape. Rem was starting to devolve (a type of insanity) because he had been without his mate for so long. He found his mate Giselle who was a 36 year old virgin in Australia. The cure for his devolvement was to have as much sex as possible with Giselle for several years. It was fun seeing her go from one extreme to the other. The author came up with a few more creative ways of having sex. There were some good lines causing me to chuckle. The author used similar language in all of these books, which added to the humor. For example, rooms were called "chambers." There was the contol chamber on the ship and the battle-planning chamber in the palace, the sleeping chamber, etc. Women were called "wenches." Retail stores and restaurants were called shopping "stalls" and dining "stalls."

No Mercy is the third story in the Trek series (labeled as story 2 by the author). I recommend reading them in order. See my review for "The Empress' New Clothes" for a list of all the books in order. I reviewed it 3/11/08 under 5 stars.

I love Jade Black, I suggest this story and all of her trek mi q'an books. If you love hot steamy paranormal erotica to make your toes curl and make ya breathless, this is one of them!
After reading Jaid Black's the Empress' New Clothes, I decided to read Rem's story, No Mercy. I guess its kind of hard to come back and top the original Trek Mi Q'an book and I skipped Dak and Geris' story Seized because so much of it was told in the Empress' New Clothes.

After several unsuccessful attempts at finding his life mate, Rem is slowing starting to devolve into a blood thirsty monster who will live on human flesh from lack of nurturing from a lifemate. Thankfully, Rem finally finds his mate, Giselle in modern day Australia. Giselle, a 36 year old red headed freckled virgin, is on a date with a slob but she is so desperate to lose her virginity that any guy will do. In the middle of dinner she starts hearing an animal growling everytime her date touches her. After her date gets impaled with a fork, Giselle drops him off at the hospital and goes back home to find herself kidnapped by a 7 and a half foot gorgeous blond giant with glowing blue eyes who worships her and all her spots (freckles). She feels all his emotions and realizes that he is on the verge of changing into something dangerous and only she can save him. Before long, they are mated and on their way to his home planet they crash and must trek through unknown terrain in order to reach a portal to take them home. Along the way Giselle is subjected to humiliating experiences when one village has a law she must be naked and leashed at all times. Eventually though the pair find happiness and contintment but then a new threat arrives.

I don't know why but this book kind of feels like the author just kind of threw a story together for Rem, without regards to making it original and fun like her previous story. She did throw in the devolving matter, but it just kind of seemed dumb. It lacked the passion and humor of its predecessor and just felt like demeaning, unemotional over the top sex. Without the real emotional feeling of the other book, it is just a sad imitation.
Book 2 in the series Trek Mi Q'an Giselle McKenzie trembled inexplicably as the sound of a low growl reverberated throughout the threads of her consciousness. She knew it couldn't have emitted from her date, the man sitting across from her in the quaint restaurant. Yet every time he placed his hand over hers, she heard that eerie, primitive growl. (A Different Take on Erotica)

This book was not as "titilating" as I had expected, but it was much better than I expected. The stories are tightly crafted tales of longing, desire, love and loss. They are erotic in their darkness of forbidden desires. The dark realm of the fairytale is brought to life with excellent results. If you go to the original versions of fairytales you will find a darkness there that is recaptured in these tales. This book is an excellent example of fear and desire. It only touches the surface and leaves you wanting more.
"The Garden of the Perverse" is a great book of erotica. I liked that the stories weren't derived from older fairy tales, but new ones were brought to life for readers. It really sparked my imagination and was a thrill to read. I also would recommend Dead Sexy: Two Tales of Vampire Erotica as well.

All in all, a great erotic read. Don't pass it up!!
This work is a different take on Erotica. Sure there have been various erotic anthologies, even a waterproof version for bath tub use. But this one was based on "Fairy Tales for Twisted Adults." Many begin with "Once upon a time, There was a woman once, There was once," pretty typical fairy tale intros that quickly devolve into the "c" and "f" words along with some very descriptive literary imagery of male and female body parts. For an intro that REALLY grabs you try "TORTURE. DOES ANYONE alive even know the meaning of the word?" Wow, that's a hook that will draw in a reader. It's from the JJ Giles selection: Mirror, Mirror On The Wall. It's a clever little tale of retribution with some vivid imagery, surely a selection in this tome not to be missed. I won't give away the ending. Bryn Colvin's selection, The Jealous King and The Generous Lover, is a very fairy tale genre set piece that could be a morality play for children...if you take out the various male genital, tongue and [...] references and concordant acts. The selections are just long enough for a bedtime story read, although you may not want to drift right off to sleep after such reading. Garden of the Perverse is a fun and different read and has something for most everyone.

We all grew up with weird tales from the Brothers Grimm, the charming Disney stories, and the other childhood rhymes and verses. But even when we first heard them, we questioned the obscure motivations of the principal characters. Our curious minds wondered why a smart girl with a red hood would wander into the forest alone or what circumstances would force a woman to live in a shoe. Now that we're all grown, we know that sex often explains the seemingly inexplicable— and that's what writers show us in this delightfully twisted volume of alternative fables and fairy tales. Rather than play with existing tales, Garden of the Perverse is a showcase for the delightfully wicked imaginations of erotica's top authors as they create new and wholly original myths andfables. Though reminiscent in flavor and style to traditional fairy tales, these stories wander into new and unique lands of surreal eroticism, exploring sensual and fetish dynamics in a diverse scope of fantastic places, bizarre creatures and adventures. After reading Tasting Her, I purchased it's twin, Tasting Him. Wow!
Each story is packed with tantalizing, oral punch. I loved Rachel's Gloss, Alison Tyler's Prego, Craig Sorensen's Equanimity Unbound to name a few. Actually, I enjoyed each and every highly detailed, well written and very erotic tale in this book. I picked up some new tricks along the way too. This is a good read alone, or with a friend.
This is a wonderfully sexy and tasteful (wordplay intended) book that can be enjoyed alone ... or better, shared with a close friend. The essays run the gamut of style, exploring the physical and emotional responses of each describer-contributor; bold, tender, risky, exciting.
Perfect for getting yourself or your lover in the mood. I also learned a few new tricks. Highly recommended.
Rachel Kramer Bussel has assembled a great collection of oral sex-themed stories for Tasting Him. There are lot of fun themes to go along with the oral fixation, my favorite being food in Alison Tyler's "Prego" and Kristina Wright's "Frosted". Now this one might be a tough book to review because (full disclosure) I have a story in it. But, as I am in such good company, I feel I can write an unbiased review. Maybe. Rachel Kramer Bussel is a wonderful author, which I think has been proven beyond doubt. But she is also a stellar editor, who manages to cajole, entice, tempt, lure, threaten (?) the best of the best into writing and submitting hot and sexy stories for her collections. Each and every one in this book is a winner, no matter what type of oral enjoyment you like, you *will* find something in this book. And if tasting him isn't your pleasure, you can taste her with "Tasting Her: Oral Sex Stories."

There's tasting in kitchens (with Prego tomato sauce!), tasting mixed with spankings and Japanese silk rope, and turnabout-is-fairplay tasting. Oh, and lest you think tasting him only involves flesh "him's" there are silicone stand-ins for your delectation. Yum!
