Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (I Really Liked The Circle of a Promise) 『I leave the reviews to others but as a reader of books, I must give this author a five star read. The way she told the story was very interesting and unlike any other time travel book I have read. I shall look for more of her writings.』
(A Wonderful Time Travel!) 『I admit to being somewhat a snob when it comes to the sub-genre of time-travel romance. I have a few authors that I'll read but for the most part I normally overlook this particular genre due to the fact that seldom are they done well. This book blew me away. Not only did Ms. Rosburg pen a wonderful romance she was very creative in the way she introduced the time travel theme.
Steve Bellingham is being tormented by a dream that always end with the death of the woman in his arms. For years he has been suffering and no one seems to be able to help him in the medical community. His sister mentions Millie a person she thinks will be able to help him. Millie will help him regress back to his past life and hopefully this will end the dream. Steve doesn't believe in past lives but is willing to do anything at this point to end the depression and other sad feelings he has been experiencing since the onset of the dream. He is totally blown away when the regression seems to work. He goes back in time to the period of the rule of Henry III. Here he finds the love of his life, his soul mate and together they battle the same enemy. But can Steven change the past this time around and protect the one woman he's sworn to love and protect?
This book was so well written that I found myself transported back in time along with Steven. I totally fell in love with all of the characters and found myself laughing and crying along with them. This is the second time I've read this book and it really only gets better. I highly recommend this book as well as this author to anyone if there interested in a well crafted story that will move your emotions.』
(powerful time travel romance) 『During the reign of King Henry III, triumphant knight Stephen of Bellingham and a baron's daughter Amarantha of Ullswater meet and fall in love. He vows forever, but a maniac kills her. He not only feels lonely; he just dreads life for having failed his beloved.
In 2003, Steve Bellingham wakes up every morning in fear, having suffered through a nightmare that feel very real. Feeling the foreboding pressure of relentless angst, he desperately seeks a remedy hopefully something hat will let him sleep dreamlessly, as life is not worth living like this. A psychic helps him see the dream as something that happened to him and his beloved Amarantha centuries ago. He now has a quest of the heart: to complete the vow he once made, but must wait for the moment to go back in time to change history so that he and Amarantha can live and love as he promised.
THE CIRCLE OF A PROMISE is a powerful time travel romance that hooks the reader due to the passion of the lead male protagonist (though one must wonder with his obsession how he escaped the men in white). Because readers will feel deeply the loss that Stephen suffers that lives with centuries after his beloved was killed, the audience will root for him to do the seemingly impossible on the wings of eternal love with his Amarantha.

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A perfectly charming and exciting time travel romance) 『Claire Peltier keeps having dreams of a man she doesn't know but who elicits emotions in her that make all other relationships she's ever had pale in comparison. As a result, Claire calls off her wedding because she feels it isn't fair to marry one man when her dreams are filled with another. Claire is haunted by these dreams and feels that it is important to solve the mystery of the man who keeps appearing in her dreams. Claire thinks that she may be reincarnated and the mystery man is from her past life. Also, Claire is occasionally visited by a ghost who never speaks a word. One evening, the ghost visits Claire but this time she dares to touch the ghost. The touch elicits a vision of a man kneeling in the center of a circle of inlaid stones on a flagstone floor. He raises his head and Claire sees that he is the man who haunts her dreams. The vision disappears but the ghost is still there. A magazine lifts itself from a rack and the pages are flipped and stop at a page containing a picture of a circle of inlaid stones on a flagstaff floor that looks exactly like the one in her vision. Above the picture is a caption: The Ancient Labyrinth of Chartres Cathedral, France.
The man who haunts her dreams is Aiden Delacroix. Aiden needs a wife so he can have an heir to the Delacroix Castle, but no woman in his time will accommodate his need because they believe the ghost of his former mistress haunts him and brings misfortune to everyone associated with him.
Claire takes a plane to France and visits the Chartres Cathedral with the hope of finding out who the mystery man of her dreams is. When visiting the cathedral, the ghost appears and leads Claire through the labyrinth. When Claire takes the last step into the center of the labyrinth she is unknowingly transported back in time to the year 1202 and finds herself standing in front of her mystery man as he is kneeling in the center of the labyrinth just as she had seen him in her vision. She reaches out to touch him and discovers that he is a real man, not the ethereal form she had always seen in her visions.
Throughout the story, Claire and Aiden try to determine why fate has brought them together from two different times and what is in store for them.
Sandra Landry has weaved a set of charming and exciting details into a suspenseful and mysterious tale that kept me guessing (and entertained) from the beginning of the book and right up to the last page.
Claire is a strong willed and independent young woman who knows what she wants and never settles for less. Aiden is a perfect hero. He is strong, an excellent swordsman, and has to rescue Claire on several occasions as she risks everything to determine the mystery of their fates. Aiden always treats Claire with the utmost of respect and is determined to get Claire to marry him. The sexual tension between the two keeps escalating until they can no longer resist and eventually yield to their desires.
The mechanism that transports Claire into the past is simple and not filled with boring scientific explanations. One of the many entertaining parts in The Last Bride is when Claire is transported to 1202. She isn't aware of her time travel and when she leaves the cathedral she wonders why there are no streetlights, why her hotel is not where it's supposed to be, and why her cell phone won't work. Then Claire finds herself the cause of a sword fight between Aiden and drunks in an inn who had accosted Claire. Later, Claire realizes that Aiden is not the reincarnated man from her past but is the man himself.
Sandra Landry has written a perfectly charming, exciting and believable time travel romance. I enjoyed the read so much that I can't wait for another tale. The Last Bride is a great and entertaining read and I highly recommend it.
』
(Too many loose ends) 『This was the worst time travel romance that I have ever read. I had to force myself to finish it. Don't waste your money.』
(Ghosts + Reincarnation +Time Travel = Solid Entertainment) 『In modern day New Orleans, Claire Peltier has just tossed aside a perfectly good fiancé - a man who loved her, treated her very well, but whom she just couldn't feel the passion that she knew deep in her soul belonged to the man who haunted her dreams. Along with being haunted by dreams, Claire was also visited rather regularly by a ghost. Only now the ghost seemed to be giving Claire clues that would send her on a journey to unlock the visions from her dreams. Traveling to France, Claire followed her instincts and her ghost, and found herself transported back to the Middle Ages where she came face to face with the man of her dreams.
Aiden Delacroix was a lonely tortured man. His sense of loss over the death of his mistress and wife that were attributed to the hauntings of a vengeful ghost had left its mark. With no wife or heir, and no woman even considering marriage to him; his fight to pass on his families' legacy would be for naught, as he would surely lose his lands to his enemy. As a last resort, Aidan went on a pilgrimage to a sacred shrine where there appeared before him a woman so beautiful Aiden impulsively proposed marriage.
While Claire recognized Aiden as the man of her dreams, his very touch brought a vision of such heartache that she refused his offer. Then again, she wasn't quite cognizant that she'd been transported back in time, and thought him a bit crazy. When it did finally dawn on her that she wasn't in her modern time, she agreed to let him help her. Soon after she would realize that she'd been brought back not only to answer questions regarding her own mysterious longings, but to right a wrong and regain a love that was meant to be.
*** This was a full-bodied, fully satisfying tale of time travel, reincarnation, and a heady romance all rolled into one totally mesmerizing read that will capture you from the very first pages. Claire and Aiden were extremely well-drawn. Aiden was wonderful, even though he sensed that Claire was different -- his acceptance, kindness and gentle ways were the stuff dreams are made of - in essence a perfect hero! In this second chance at a love that was meant to be that transcended all time, Landry pulled out all the stops and presented her readers with a perfectly wonderful read. Highly recommended! --- Marilyn, for [...] ---』
(The exception that proves the rule) 『Normally, I get irritated with romances containing ghosts and/or reincarnation, but that wasn't the case with The Last Bride. It's got ghosts. It's got reincarnation. And the time-travel ties them together. But it works. The ghosts&reincarnation are PART OF THE STORY. And it doesn't go off on long boring tangents about something that happened to some dead people who nobody cares about because they were thoroughly unlikeable. Er. Speaking of tangents. Anyway.
Claire calls off her engagement because of the man who haunts her dreams, and then follows a ghost's clues to a labyrinth in France, where she ends up in the past, and meets Aiden, the man from her dreams, who's gone on a pilgrimage to the labyrinth to ask for guidance in dealing with his own ghost.
The good: Claire's reaction to the time travel was great--very realistic. All the paranormal elements are integral to the plot. Aiden is a great tortured hero--everyone, including Aiden, believes that his wife had been killed by the ghost of his mistress, who'd killed herself rather than live without him, yet his concern for his people makes him want to find a wife to give him an heir, even though he doesn't feel he deserves it.
The bad: A couple of threads were left dangling at the end, that should have been wrapped up.
The verdict: A paranormal, time-travel romance that's entertaining and believable.』
(Enjoyable...but) 『At the end of this book I did not have the "WOW"! feeling that I had after reading 'The Wishing Chalice', (Ms. Landry's second book). There were a few loose ends - not the least of which was the issue of Nick (Claire's brother in our time) being left with no clue as to what happened to his sister after her impulsive dash to France, and subsequent disappearance from the face of the Earth (our time) - iron box of possessions notwithstanding. I mean, what are the chances that said box would find its way to Nick in the 21st century???). Then, there is the issue of Claire being barren, which in the Middle Ages is a sure ticket to spinsterhood, or worst, being 'done away with' by a disappointed husband. I felt that Aiden was cheated in this - being that that was the whole reason behind his urgent (and emotionally painful) quest for a wife. I'm still confused about the ghosts angle - why guide Claire all the way back in time to Aiden, and then try and kill her?? Was Claire's childhood ghost Cherise? Or Meridith? The description is that of Cherise (confirmed by Aiden), yet we're told later on that it was in fact Meridith. In the Epilogue, Jasper reappears - no explanation as to where he had hie himself off to, or how he survived after leaving Delacroix castle. So, although I enjoyed it (I thought Aiden made a great hero: brave, kind, patient, sexy, and vulnerable; he'd been through a terrible 10 years of scorn and ridicule by everyone - totally unfounded!). I liked Clair's physical description; being a big girl myself ( five-ten with bones to match!), I've had my fill of the petite child-brides that some female writers of romance (and some other genre) seem to think are so appealing to us readers. All in all a good read - Ms. Landry weaves a good story, and there's enough to snag and keep your interest if you don't look too closely at the details. I'm on the hunt for Ms Landry's first book (2000) ('A Perfect Love').』 『Claire Peltier is convinced that the man who haunts her dreams was her lover in a past life. This is not your typical romance novel. Everlasting Journey, by Meloni Cassidy, is much more than a romance novel, though it contains plenty of that and some steamy scenes that men will fancy as well. It is a fantastic tale of time travel, stitched together in a tidy and believable manner. The story, however, is neither simple, nor predictable. Just when you think you've figured out what's going to happen, Cassidy throws in a slight twist that keeps you wondering what is going to happen next.
The plot catapults a modern, liberated and spunky woman into a constricting age of corsets and southern chivalry. While constantly aware of the differences in times and cultures, Everlasting Journey is acutely aware of those human characteristics that are timeless. Cassidy understands things about character and plot development that can't be taught. She's a natural writer with a flair for romance. A very entertaining read. 』
(A Book of Romance and Time Travel) 『I think Meloni was given an extra measure of imagination. Her enthusiasm is evident in every chapter and I could feel the writer living the adventure and letting the words flow with excellent dialogue and narrative. The author entwines different centuries and different cultures with skill as fascinating characters appear before the reader. The entire story was never, never boring and I had no idea how it was all going to end.
And at the end of the book, my mind was still going on with the story. I wanted to have two of the characters go to Alabama to see if the manor house from the 19th century was still there. But that did not happen. Perhaps in a sequel they will take this journey. But maybe not.
I probably wouldn't give this book to one of my granddaughters, but there is so much here besides the vividly described romance. I read this book in two days, so be sure you've got time to finish it because it will captivate you from beginning to end.

(Suspensful and romantically stimulating) 『Review by Abe F. March, author of "To Beirut and Back"
With her first novel, Meloni Cassidy has proven herself a first class writer. She has cleverly written a "back to the future" tale that is both suspenseful and romantically stimulating. Meloni does justice to the characters she has created to fit their devised roles. The setting for the story seems to be a place where the writer has been. or could have been, based on the descriptive manner in which she has written. She has woven dramatic historical events into the intrigue of the story that adds to its appeal. I heartily recommend this book. 』 『Surrounding the destiny of the RMS Titanic, and the terror of September 11th. One man has forgotten how to love. Only one woman can help him remember...

The story line was good and had some great ideas, but the awful writing style got in the way. The flow was not good and the sentence structure awkward. There are too many adjectives and the dialogue falls flat. I guess I've just been reading too many polished writers, but when you pay $14.95 for a book you should be getting better writing.』
(Simply Enchanting!) 『Jasmine's journey takes her to a home in New Orleans where she meets a handsome stranger. Who is he and why does he look at her as if he knows her? She was given a brass key to the house, and now a note. These are clues that will help her find her destiny. When the stranger leaves, she is drawn to the courtyard and to the fountain that had lain in a decaying heap only an hour before. Now it stood perfect in all its splendor.
Hayden travels to Jasmine's time, the portal landing him in New Orleans and to the fountain. Hayden would like to find out, but he must recover the lost prophecies before his kingdom cannot be saved. He didn't realize meeting Jasmine would put him on the right path to discovery.
I loved how Ms. Adkins entwined the characters destinies. No meeting was by chance but by design. They were destined to cross paths until all was right once more. Ms. Adkins knows how to draw the reader into your world where mist cover forests come alive and the prospect of true love is down a path yet taken. Simply Enchanting.

(Second book better than the first!) 『What a whirlwind ride! This is one of those books you read all night long because you can't wait to see what happens next and it is never what you expect- fascinating, charming, and most of all incredibly fantastically romantic! I closed th book on the final page with a contented sigh and grand smile.... I can't wait to read more for Kimberly Adkins!』
(Disappointing) 『That was the most disappointing book that I have ever read. I read A lot, and was expecting much better after the reviews I had read. I read the Diana Garbaldon time travel books. Although hers were a bit lengthy, at least the reader knew exactly what was going on. Kimberly Adkins jumps around so much, it is confusing to the reader to know what time period they are in. I am disgusted that I wasted my time with it.』
(An unforgettable journey) 『After reading Ms. Adkins first book, "The Medallion of Solaus" I already knew that she was a good writer but after reading "Darkenbane: The Fountain" I realize she is a GREAT writer. Her characters are just enthralling... you feel like you KNOW them and the plot is exciting keeping you going with twists and turns. You believe this book and you wish you could "jump" into the worlds she creates and meet the chanracters who are so incredibly real. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Pleasant reading) 『A bit of a take-off on the Outlander premise of a circle of "singing stones" that can transport through time, albeit these stones were removed from the circle and built into an archway of a building. Our hero and heroine meet at a clan gathering, get shoved through the archway and are transported back through time. I could never figure out what year it was, I recall Edward III being mentioned as England's king, and King David being the son of Robert the Bruce, so my research says sometime in the 14th century.
Anyway, our hero Alex is a double for the laird's son and heir Alesander who has been away for five years in London with the Scott king David (who was being held as a hostage by the English). So he is mistaken for the young heir, and Maggie is taken as his leman (mistress). Lots of ups and downs follow our H&H as they try to understand what's happened, and try to find their way home without being killed for pretending to be what they're not.
All in all very entertaining, but you do have to suspend some disbelief. I am sorry, but no man of the our times (most especially an ACCOUNTANT!!) could go back to the 14th century and pick up a sword and even have a clue to what he was doing, let alone convince his peers that he was adept at it. Also, the author wrote the story so that Alex picked up a Scottish brogue and Gaelic when they went back in time, but no one noticed Maggie's lack of English accent, let alone that she was from New Jersey. For those and a few other discrepancies I give it 4 stars instead of 5.
Note: if you are looking for something for a younger reader, this would not be a good choice. It's a bit of a bodice ripper, with more sexual content and descriptions than is appropriate for a young teen.』
(A TIME TRAVEL TALE THAT TANTALIZES...) 『This is an interesting debut novel and a welcome addition to the time travel genre. It is a well told tale that evokes another time, long ago. It is also a tale of love.
Two people from New Jersey, each on the run from a broken romance, go to Scotland. Maggie Hobbs is there on vacation. Alex MacKendiman is accompanying his aunt to a gathering of his clan near Dunnedin, Scotland. Maggie and Alex meet at the clan gathering. They also meet a mysterious stranger, Mairi, who pushes them through a portal in time. Before they know it, they are in a medieval Scotland of six hundred years ago.
As luck would have it, Alex is the doppelganger of a long ago ancester of the same name. It appears that his ancestral namesake has been visiting in England for some time. When Alex and Maggie arrive in medieval Scotland, he is mistaken for his returning ancester, who also happens to be the laird's son. Maggie is taken to be his leman, as Alex has been betrothed to Anice, daughter of the head of the MacNab clan.
From here on in, their adventures fly fast and furious, as Alex and Maggie struggle to fit it and get the lay of the land in order to survive, until they can figure out a way to return to the present. There are many pitfalls to avoid and many customs to adopt in order to make their trek through time a safe one. In the process, they fall in love.
What happens to Alex and Maggie is entertaining and interesting, as they traverse a veritable minefield of differences between past and present. It is only through their growing love, however, that they will find the link necessary to effect a return to their time. Will they make it? Read this book and find out. You will not be disappointed.』
(A totally different aspect of time-travel, a very good read) 『Maggie and Alex are from the present day and are sent back in time together. It is not like any other time-travel books I have read. The secondary characters in the story are well developed and believable. I felt so sorry for the treatment Maggie recieved frrom Anice (Alex's betrothed). I wished she would give her a good slapping instead of taking all the snide remarks from Anice and her maids. She was just a spoilt little brat who thought she was better than everyone around her especially Maggie. Anice did change at the end of the book when she realised that the Alex she thought was betrothed to wasn't her Alex, but an imposter. I thought the real Alex who prefered to be called Sandy was a perfect match for Anice. He was just as bad as she had been to Maggie. This book is a great read and I can't wait to read the sequel to this book. I highly recommend it to any time-travel fans out there. Keep up the good work Terri.』
(Debut Deluxe!) 『This is my favorite type of time travel in which both main character travel through time in order to learn a lesson. This is an incredible debut for Ms. Brisbin. Her writing style is so vivid and emotional that I felt as if I'd been pushed through the arch right along with Maggie and Alex! I experienced their confusion, fear, and pain, their courage, joy, and love. I watched as Alex's true character emerged and his emotions blossomed, up close and personal. I laughed, cried, and hurt for the two of them. The touching epilogue was the perfect ending to a perfectly delightful read! I highly recommend this novel and wait with baited breath for the November sequel "A Matter of Time". --------- Leslie Tramposch - Pghromance』
(This is a great new concept in time travel!) 『Having both "stars" of the novel travel through time together is refreshing! A great story that is very realistic as far as customs, language and behavioral qualities of the time traveled to; and the frustration, worries and determination of the couple trapped in another era. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!』 『To Maggie Hobbs, Scotland is a dream vacation. For Alex MacKendimen, it's a way to free himself from work and explore his family history. Or so they think--until a mysterious stranger sends them back to medieval Scotland. Together, they will embark on a journey through time on a quest for love.』

They are trying to recover their memories after an explosion 6 months previously in which she has lost 4 years of her life. Libby is studying outlaws&is drawn to Bastian of Bale. She is playing the part of Isabeau of Lilydrake, a noblewoman. There is something about Bastien that is very intruiging. He suffers the same memory loss as Libby does. All he knows is that he&his wife were at Lilydrake at the time of the explosion... A fantastic story with the daughter of David&Jane from "Storm"&I was completely surprised to find out who Reynard was. I never even thought he was anything other than he was portrayed. A brilliant ending.』
(A Fabulous Medieval Time Travel Romance Mystery) 『This is the sequel to Wings of the Storm, and it is even better than the original. It is a medieval time travel romance mystery--what happened to the time research team to lose their memories and years of their lives--set in the Middle Ages. The tale unfolds in a way reminiscent of Rebecca (DuMaurier), a little information revealed at a time in flashbacks. It has great humor as well sa a fast paced storyline, bringing back some characters from the first novel and answering some leftover questions about what happened to those characters. The romance is very well done, as is the ending. Be careful about reading too much in other reviews as it will spoil the plot.』
(A Great time travel romance) 『After having read the synopsis of the story on the back of the book, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this novel.
Libby was part of a 5 person team that had traveled back into the past (from our future) to further the studies of time travel. In what was supposed to be an empty castle, the team conducted their research on a top-secret new type of time travel. When a violent reaction occurs, Libby has lost 4 years of her life, her memory and 2 members of the team. Having more of a desire to study life on the Mongolian plains, she is confused over her desire to return to of all places the Middle Ages of England. Thus, using the "front" of rebuilding the time portal that almost caused their demise, Libby and the remaining two scientists return to try and recover their lost memories and rebuild the destroyed time portal. Libby also decides to pursue her recent interest in studying outlaws. Enter Bastin of Bale-the epitome of our romantic hero and an outlaw; the perfect specimen for Libby to study. Libby is immediately drawn to him as he holds her hostage to free his men from a dungeon, and then later comes to pose as a worker rebuilding the castle where the original accident takes place. When a Lord shows up claiming that Libby is his bride, she decides that she should return to the future and ends up as Bastins' willing captive instead. With fragments of memories starting to return and Libby realizes that Bastin was at the castle at the time of the explosion (and lost his wife as well as suffers from the same violent headaches from loosing his memory) the two undergo a quest to regain the past that they have lost. With an irate jilted would-be-husband, the shire's sheriff, and outlaws under a different leader hot on their trail Bastin and Libby kindle a love that, well you'll just have to read the book.
Okay, so the book is a lot better with more details that are hard to write into a review with out giving away all the fabulous surprises that keep you hooked until the last page.』
(The next book is better, but this is great) 『So Libby has taken on her mother's hobby and job? huh? Well, good for her. I like the scenes with Sebastian!』 『Swept back to medieval England, Time Search team member Libby Wolfe is unable to keep her promise to remain uninvolved when she falls in love with the handsome outlaw Bastien of Bale.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Reflections in Time) 『I truly enjoyed this book. I hate to read. Once all my friends caught me reading this book and not putting it down they had to own it also. What a Man! Thanks Elizabeth for a great romance/time travel.』
(It makes me wish I could go back and relive a past life!) 『This book touched me more than any historical or time travel romance I have ever read. When a practical modern day woman, Renata, undergoes hypnosis to cure her insomnia, she finds herself smack dab in the middle of a past life. In a body that is no longer her own, she must fumble along and uncover the mystery of why she keeps returning to this life and why things seem so wrong there. If she can fix that...she may be able to fix more than her insomnia. I yelled, laughed, cried, and seriously considered unergoing hypnosis so that I could go back in time and relive the heroine's past life for myself. I literally fell in love with Nathan, the romantic hero of the story and ached for the broken relationship that he and "Renata" must work through to find love.』
(Reflections in Time (Timeswept) by Elizabeth Crane) 『Description from the book back cover:
Entranced by a stranger ... When practical-minded, no-nonsense Renata O'Neal began to have trouble sleeping, she decided hypnotism was the obvious answer to her problem. But when the doctor put her under, and she found herself in another time and place, about to be married to a devastating stranger, Renata decided that either her therapist was losing his mind, or she was! Enraptured by a lover ... Unable to return to her own era, Renata found life a tangled web back in 1880's Louisiana. Her unforseen marriage to Nathan Blue was threatened by secrets she was only beginning to fathom, and her growing passion for her new husband was hampered by Victorian morals, which proclaimed a woman must perform her wifely duty, but never enjoy it. Despite the gulf between them, Renata vowed that nothing would keep her from loving the most deliciously alluring man she'd known in one hundred years! 』
(Time Travel at it's best!) 『One of the best books I've read...ever! A friend had given it to me- I didn't think I'd like it but was pleasantly surprised. It's also one of the only books I've kept since I've had it and have re-read it twice which I NEVER do as there are too many great books out there left to be read. I thought the story quite believable and totally entertaining - it would make a great movie, read it and enjoy!』
(Truly a great story!) 『This book is truly a great read right from the start. The female in the story is very realistic. An 'every woman' who has everyday problems and is very easy to identify with. A very good time travel story that pulls you in and doesn't let go until the very last page. This book definitely gets my recommendations.』 『Turning to hypnotism to cure her sleeping problems, Renata O'Neal finds herself transported back in time to 1880s Louisiana and married to a handsome stranger, but the Victorian morals of the time hamper her new marriage.』
