(Have it all)
(Love all her books) Constance O'Day Flannery had me hooked with Timeless Passion. She just totally enraptured me with the way she tells her story to make you think that you are right there. She adds bits of history, some romance, time travel and enough questions to keep you on the edge of your seat. She is absolutely my favorite author!!! If you want everything included in a book then this is the author for you. With Constance you get love, romance, time-travel, history and wonderful entertainment. I usually try to read a few chapters a night, but with Contance's books I usally can't stop until I'm done. She's simply the best!!! The only time writer in romance i will read.she tries to always incorporate previous characters in the current title.Prolific and very profound. From the author of "Timeless Passion, The Gift" and "Second Chances" comes the story of a woman from the present and a man from the past who discover that only the most passionate kind of love can transcend time. (It makes me wish I could go back and relive a past life!)
(Reflections in Time (Timeswept) by Elizabeth Crane)
(Time Travel at it's best!)
(Truly a great story!) I truly enjoyed this book. I hate to read. Once all my friends caught me reading this book and not putting it down they had to own it also. What a Man! Thanks Elizabeth for a great romance/time travel. This book touched me more than any historical or time travel romance I have ever read. When a practical modern day woman, Renata, undergoes hypnosis to cure her insomnia, she finds herself smack dab in the middle of a past life. In a body that is no longer her own, she must fumble along and uncover the mystery of why she keeps returning to this life and why things seem so wrong there. If she can fix that...she may be able to fix more than her insomnia. I yelled, laughed, cried, and seriously considered unergoing hypnosis so that I could go back in time and relive the heroine's past life for myself. I literally fell in love with Nathan, the romantic hero of the story and ached for the broken relationship that he and "Renata" must work through to find love. Description from the book back cover:
Entranced by a stranger ... When practical-minded, no-nonsense Renata O'Neal began to have trouble sleeping, she decided hypnotism was the obvious answer to her problem. But when the doctor put her under, and she found herself in another time and place, about to be married to a devastating stranger, Renata decided that either her therapist was losing his mind, or she was! Enraptured by a lover ... Unable to return to her own era, Renata found life a tangled web back in 1880's Louisiana. Her unforseen marriage to Nathan Blue was threatened by secrets she was only beginning to fathom, and her growing passion for her new husband was hampered by Victorian morals, which proclaimed a woman must perform her wifely duty, but never enjoy it. Despite the gulf between them, Renata vowed that nothing would keep her from loving the most deliciously alluring man she'd known in one hundred years!
One of the best books I've read...ever! A friend had given it to me- I didn't think I'd like it but was pleasantly surprised. It's also one of the only books I've kept since I've had it and have re-read it twice which I NEVER do as there are too many great books out there left to be read. I thought the story quite believable and totally entertaining - it would make a great movie, read it and enjoy! This book is truly a great read right from the start. The female in the story is very realistic. An 'every woman' who has everyday problems and is very easy to identify with. A very good time travel story that pulls you in and doesn't let go until the very last page. This book definitely gets my recommendations. Turning to hypnotism to cure her sleeping problems, Renata O'Neal finds herself transported back in time to 1880s Louisiana and married to a handsome stranger, but the Victorian morals of the time hamper her new marriage. (Beautiful Story)
(A compelling story!)
(A Sweet Story) Very entertaining story. It was interesting to have the story set in the past, and in the present. Very well written. I would definitely recommend it. I really enjoyed this book and will keep it. I probably would rate it 4&1/2 and PG. Parallel between past and present very realistic. Historical plus a little mystery. Clean reading. Nice romance. I would like to read more books by this author. Excellent writing. Two stories in one have you anxious to find out what happens in each. You know they are connected but you don't know how - until the end. I highly recommend this book. I'd love to see this one made into a movie. It's Twilight Zone without the irony and with a wonderful ending! I loved it! What a sweet story! The love that Cassie and Lucas find warms your heart. Once again, Mrs. Wilson gives us her best. Thanks Dolores! Keep them coming.
Today, widowed neurologist Dr. Daniel Lucas has a comatose Jane Doe patient. The only thing he knows about her is that she was badly beaten by someone and left for dead. And that he is strangely, inexplicably drawn to her. So drawn, he allows his young son to sit by the woman's bedside and relate stories of the old west once told to him by his deceased mother. Yesterday, the abandoned wife of an abusive husband, Cassie struggles to maintain the small Montana ranch she and her young son call home. When drifter Daniel Lucas comes by she hires him on, grateful for both his physical labor and the support he lends against a greedy neighbor who wants her land. And although she is still legally bound to the man who deserted her and her son, Cassie finds a transcendent passion. A doomed passion. Today, Dr. Lucas' skill finally brings his Jane Doe back into the world of the living, and her secrets are revealed. Along with a brutal ex-husband who is coming back to finish the job he started. Is Cassie doomed to suffer the same fate twice? Or is love indeed strong enough to transcend time? Rerations < Little Big Heart >

(I laughed, I bit my nails, I melted...)
(Lots of adventure, sexual tension)
(It Happened One Night)
(An intelligent spell-binding time travel!) After reading a couple of the negative reviews about redundent dialogue and annoying interactions, I didn't know if I would like this book. Boy, am I glad I ignored those reviews!! Kiervan and Alanna were quite a dynamic couple, and I LOVED their interactions.
Alanna, arriving to 19th century Ireland from the 20th century, was such a strong, intense character that never compromised her belief that if she loved, it would be forever. Unfortunately, despite their magnetic attraction to each other, Kiervan only wanted to experience Alanna until the "fires burned out." The fact that he is engaged to marry another woman also posed the biggest challenge between Alanna giving herself to a man who would never be completely hers.
I have to say that throughout the story, there were some great readable moments! I loved her passionate exchanges with Kiervan (as she is a passionate individual), but I also loved her exchanges with other characters in the book. The scene on the boat before she returned to Castle O'Connell was a gem! Both characters evolved and developed, and contrary to one review, there was character growth. They were by no means flat characters!
A good sign of an enjoyable book is being able to sympathize with both characters throughout the story. I understood Alanna's resolve to stay true to her belief of a relationship with a man who could give himself completely, and not share the affections with another woman. I also sympathized with Kiervan's frustration at his attraction for Alanna, but not being able to break his solid oath to marry another.
The last good sign of a good book is when you don't want it to end. I can read a book in a day-and-a-half. This time I slowly read the book, took my time enjoying the characters, and didn't really want to have the book end. I will keep this book and read it again. I'm sure I will see even more in the characters than I did in the first read. Take a gander at this book if you enjoy historical romance novels, with adventure and some of the complexities of love. I bought this book from the grocery store check out lane because the line was long and I was bored. Boy, I wish that happened more often!! This is a first book?? Well written, great story, wonderful characters, some hilarious scenes (especially the one in the Inn,) a good line of tension in the story, and a romance to curl the toes and make the heart melt...what more can a Romance Novel need? Can't wait to see the name Leslie LaFoy on the shelves again. housewife in Ohio After traveling back into time, the heroine finds herself in the middle of the Irish conflict. She and the hero race pell mell over the countryside, escaping all sorts of foes.I found the heroine's reaction to everything believable. She travels back in time, but she doesn't curl up in shock. Instead, she bounces back. The hero is a rogue, but so much more than that. Both the characters have depths and backgrounds that are revealed slowly. The secondary characters are a mixed bag. One bad spot was Kiervan's would-be fiancee. Aaargh! Why did he have to struggle so over the decision about whether to marry her? I gave this book at B+ at All About Romance. I'm tired of the petulant, sulky, angry heroine that is always focused on herself and won't deal with reality. I found myself completely bored with the heroine with in about 10 pages. It was as if the author had cut and paste the same dialog over and over again. It got old very quickly. There was no depth of character, no interest in the new environment or the other people in her world. She was too busy ranting and raving. How interesting is this? Please...I can't bring myself to finish this book. Give me character development like Elizabeth Thornton any day of the week! I'm a big fan of time travel...but I'd never buy a book by this author again. Period. I wasted my money on this book. I was very pleasantly surprised. This is one of the view books that toughed my emotions. It contained humour, suspense, bravado and titillating romance. The characters Alanna and Kiervan had sparks flying. I couldn't put the book down. Thanks Ms. LaFoy for the wonderful read. I look forward to other books. In a spellbinding tale that marks the debut of a born storyteller, a beautiful woman finds herself transported back in time. . . to a world of shimmering desire and heartrending danger. . . .
Alanna Chapman knows that no accountant worth her salt would leave town during tax season, but now she has no choice. To honor her aunt's final wishes, the Colorado CPA has come to the mist-shrouded shores of Ireland, intending to stay just long enough to accomplish her mission. But on the mysterious grounds of Carraig Cor, something extraordinary happens: Alanna finds herself catapulted back to the year 1803. Taken for a "seer" who can foretell Ireland's future, she becomes the prisoner of a ruthless privateer...a dangerously attractive sea captain who has no doubt that he can bend this modern temptress to his will, to use her magic powers for his own ends. But when Alanna crossed over to the nineteenth century, she didn't leave her independent spirit behind. Now she's looking for a way to escape the captain's irresistible embrace--and his enemy's notice--before this perilous adventure costs her her heart...and her life. customer 's review (Very enjoyable read)
(Fun and Different)
(A page-turner -- Very Highly Recommended)
(An enjoyable book)
(Wild, witty romp of a time travel!) I thoroughly enjoyed this story. A very unusal premise in that it is a time-travel agent who is a wizard from the 19th. century, takes you to where you want to go in his shop "Any time, any place". And it only costs $1,000,000 to find your hearts desire.
I sorry to see this story end, knowing there are no more of these stories by Kay. Why that is, I dont know, I just wish there were more in this series.
It would be great to read about these characters in a future story, just to catch up with them again. That would be fantastic.
I really liked that the female lead was the dominant partner in the relationship...if you like time travel, this is a good choice. The premise is that an untalented wizard has figured out a way to travel through time using Merlin's stone. For a mere one million dollars a person, you can travel through time to find your heart's desire...an eccentric billionare and his personal assistant travel to the medievil time period to find an enchanted amulet and each find their true love Victoria Desmond is a thoroughly modern and independent woman, levelheaded when it comes to most facets of her life. At work, she is a focused professional and determined taskmaster-the perfect foil to a billionaire boss with a refined obsession for all things medieval. At home, Victoria plays caretaker to her aunt and mother-a woman deserted by Victoria's father when Victoria was nine-unable to cope with the responsibilities of single motherhood as well as her daughter was able to deal with raising herself. No one could ever guess Victoria harbors romantic fantasies of being rescued by a dashing knight in shining armor and on a white horse, and she would never admit it to anyone-especially not her boss, H. Walter or her critical but totally dependent and man-hungry aunt Crystal. Walter would no doubt rub it in and Crystal would only harp on her niece's lack of the looks and style that could attract the sort of man of which she daydreams. Thus, Victoria is intelligent and grounded enough to enjoy the fantasy for what it is-a dream that can never be realized. But then again, being the efficient personal assistant of a medieval addict with his head in the clouds and hopes of renovating a recently purchased ancient English castle may have its perks after all. H. Walter Harrington IV is a successful tycoon, who splurges almost as much money indulging his favorite pastime sponsoring an annual Medieval Fair, as he donates to charity. He's a stubborn man, used to getting his way and the only person who's ever said "no" to him is Victoria...that is until Walter asks her to cancel all his appointments for three weeks and accompany him on a trip to England. Against her better judgment and every instinct that tells her Walter is wasting more time and money on the ruins that were once Castle Avondel, Victoria agrees to go. It is a decision that she soon regrets, especially once she has the living daylights scared out of her when, through the magic of the Thistlewaite Travel Agency, its bizarre proprietor Tobias and Merlin's stone, she and Walter are whisked through time and space to 13th Century England. Walter is on a mission to secure Aethelwyn's amulet, and thereby restore the ruined Avondel to its former glory. Simple and as a matter-of-fact as taking a trip to Disney World for H. Walter. More complicated and nerve-racking than juggling Walter and Crystal's business and social schedules put together for Victoria. Capable and independent in her own place and time; Victoria is suddenly afraid and at a loss thrust in 1274. She's more importantly upset that Walter has taken her wishes for granted, usurped her belief in good old fashioned logic only to replace it with his talk of magic, time travel, wizards and finally meeting the lord and lady of Avondel. Unfortunately, Walter and Victoria have landed at Avondel ten years after the siege of the castle has occurred. And when Walter is soon abducted by neighboring landowner, Sir Ranulf of Darkvale, the intrigue and danger really begins. Alone in the Age of Chivalry where women are worshipped but nonetheless still considered property and the weaker sex, Victoria has to figure out how to rescue Walter. Armed with walking-around gold from Walter, a Swiss Army knife and a veritable 20th Century medicine cabinet in her purse sets off to do just this. Now if she could only be sure she had that Snickers packed at the bottom of her purse. Enter Sir Perceval (aka Sir Gareth) a dingy drunken knight in dented rusty armor. Not exactly Victoria's dream come true, but she decides he'll do in a pinch. Sworn to avenge the slaughter of his parents, the enslavement of his young sister, the destruction of his childhood home, and reclaim his birthright Sir Gareth of Avondel is on a mission of his own. He will stop at nothing to see it through-from entering a jousting match in disguise and an assumed identity right under the nose of his sworn enemy, or lying to the bold and strange woman who challenges his very intellect and titillates his desires. Kay has a wonderful feeling of place and setting and writes with authority and a wry sense of humor clearly exhibited in her portrayals of Victoria's resourceful damsel not-so-in-distress and Gareth's chauvinist with a conscience and soft heart for his lady. Kay has created a hero and heroine with unmistakable chemistry, leading an engaging cast of sub-plot characters and the driving force behind a multi-leveled love story. A well-written and entertaining page-turner complete with legendary curses, familial betrayal and strife, high-adventure, intrigue, murder, revenge, secrets, and of course the prerequisite happily ever after, To Charm A Knight charmed this reader and is very highly recommended. I liked this book. It was a cute story, and easy read and made me feel good after I'd read it. Its a time travel romance. The heroine, Victoria, and her super rich employer are transported back in time to 13th century England. Her employer has bought a castle in modern times that is falling apart but no matter what they do it can't be fixed. He decides that if he can find an amulet which is said to have been taken from the castle all will be well. He finds a travel agancy that specializes in time travel and away they go.When they get there they are confronted with several things. Victorias boss is taken hostage and she has to find the amulet to free him. She gets some help from a shaggy unclean knight named Percy. Now Percy is really the rightful heir to the castle and wants the stone to right old wrongs and recalim his inheritance. He doesn't want anyone to know who he is so he pretends to be a unkept knight. He offers his services to Victoria and soon finds he is very strongly attracted to her. She is likewise attracted to him but not just time stands in their way of happiness. This is a funny book that was very easy to read. I plan to read others from this author. Victoria Desmond's eccentric employer, billionaire Walter Harrington, is a medieval-era fanatic and owner of a crumbling castle. Unfortunately for Victoria, when Walter's wildest dream magically comes true, and he's transported through time to 13th Century England, Victoria is unwillingly dragged with him. Though Victoria has no idea how to survive in the Middle Ages, she is forced to save not only herself but clueless Walter from an evil knight. In spite of her best efforts the outlook is very grim for her and her boss, until Gareth of Avondel arrives on the scene and helps them out.If you like medieval times and the sharp immediacy that time travel provides, this adventure will really get your blood racing. Gareth is sexy, intelligent and determined to have lovely, feisty Victoria for his own. And Victoria is a strong woman who refuses to whine as she accepts that she's going to have to hustle like mad to survive. I love the way the light tone of the story invites you to laugh, but not at the expense of a very pleasing hero and heroine. Instead, the humor comes from the contrast of the comic extremes of a hero and heroine who couldn't be more unalike. Their mutually weird ways constantly startle each other and lead to many hearty chuckles. They are also very hot lovers, always welcome in any romance! In short, if you like laughter, exotic adventure and hot sex, you'll love this book! Rerations < To Charm A Knight (Zebra Historical Romance) >

(disappointing)
(Not as romantic as i thought it would be)
(GREAT READ!!) This book showed promise. The author deftly shows the differences between the Regency era and the modern era by the responses of her modern-day heroine and Regency-era hero. However, the miscommunications bewteen the Leah and David kept the book from getting a higher grade. We get some insight into David's character. But we didn't get to know Leah that well. By the time we learned her background, it didn't jive with the way she acted. At All About Romance, I gave this book a C. I'm sorry to have to disagree with the other reviews. I am an avid reader and enjoy most time travel romances. However I found this book to be boring without much character development.I found it difficult to believe their romance and actually had difficulty finishing the book. I'm sorry to say I won't be looking for this author's name again. the story and everything was good and surprisingly well written, but the relationship between Leah and David was only about two beautiful people trying to find someone who would rival their own beauty. Their love is about as shallow as the spring itself. I have now read over 100 time travel books and this is one of my favorites. I am on line now looking to s |
