I love the way she's strong and decisive in her career, but terrified and confused when it comes to the simple things like bathing a newborn, or cooking. (Romantic Time Travel)
(Romance, mystery, and just a touch of magic)
(Time Travel Romance)
(House Call to the Past) Maria Hallett was a wild fifteen year old that lived in Yarmouth, Massachusetts (Cape Cod), in the year 1713. While her huge family slept, she would dash into town to spend a few hours at Crosby Tavern. There, Maria would flirt and tease all the customers, but never went to bed with any of them. Until Sam Bellamy. Sam and Maria spent one night together while a storm raged outside. Sam was a sailor with nothing to his name. He told Maria to wait for him. He would return for her as soon as he made his fortune from the sea. To do this, Sam became a pirate.
Dr. Angus McPherson is an obstetrician living in Brewster, in the year 1992. As a violent storm rages outside, one of his patients calls to inform him that she has gone into labor. "Dr. Angus" began his trip to the hospital. However, en route he spies a man, running toward his car from a pasture, frantically waving him down. Angus braves the storm to meet the man half way. John Hallett begs Angus to help his daughter, Maria, who is at his home in the middle of a difficult delivery. Knowing his other patient would be fine, Angus agrees. In no time at all, Dr. Angus realizes he has crossed an invisible barrier and entered the past. He saves Maria's life, and that of her baby boy. Yet before he could leave to recross the pasture and return to 1992, he learns that a council meeting was forming to declare Maria a witch and to kill her. Angus can't explain the strong feelings he has for Maria after such a brief time, but to save her again Angus decides to remain in 1713 and marry her.
Maria marries the doctor to save herself, but fully expects to leave him when Black Sam finally returns for her. Angus is just as determined to earn Maria's love, so she would never leave him. The town quickly trusts the new doctor in their area. Learning to trust Maria, an accused witch, is harder. And Maria wasn't really doing anything to help matters. Maria may only be around the age of sixteen, but she is going to have to mature quickly if she ever hopes to be truly happy.
**** I found the character of Maria to be extremely vexing, to say the least. Yet considering her age, I think the author made her maturity level realistic. The doctor's character is extremely well done! Most of this story comes from his point of view. As for the people of Yarmouth and its surrounding area, they gave this story a bonus touch. The author took the time to let me, as the reader, understand them and their beliefs. All-in-all, this romance is refreshing and perfect for a beach read or while you are outside enjoying the sunshine.
This is Maria and Dr. Angus's story. I understand that Sam has his own story in the next episode "Port Call To The Future". If it turns out to be as interesting as this story, I will be very happy. We shall soon see. ****
Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews. I really enjoyed this book. It is by far my favorite of Ms. Smith's work. I have read several of her books and she continues to impress me. I didn't really like Maria Hallett in the beginning but by the end I was actually rooting for her. I loved the surprise ending and I can't wait for the sequel I heard about. I need to find out what happened! Maria Hallet knows how to get herself into hard situations. She was left pregnant by a pirate and accused of being a witch. If that wasn't bad enough, she almost died giving birth. A mysterious doctor from the "future" came to her rescue. Dr. Angus saved Maria's life and she stole his heart. But, her heart belonged to her pirate. Will Maria ever love Dr. Angus? Will the pirate come back for his child? What happens in the end? I can't tell you! Read it, you won't be sorry On one side of a Massachusetts field, it's 1992. On the other side it is 1713. John Hallett, desperate to find help for his pregnant daughter Maria, calls out across time - and obstetrician Angus McPherson answers. With no idea of just how far that walk across an innocent-looking field will take him, as he quickly learns why no midwife or physician from her time will help his new patient give birth. Her fellow villagers in coastal Yarmouth believe that Maria Hallett is a witch. So as the unmarried girl struggles to bear the son of pirate Black Sam Bellamy (who of course is off at sea), no one but her shamed yet loving family wants to come near her. Dr. Angus soon find himself in love with Maria, and offers her the protection that can only come from marriage. For her he willingly remains in the past, learns how to live there, and does his best to teach his bride to love him. But Maria, although she's grateful, has no intention of giving up on Black Sam Bellamy's promised return. Not counting "Brigadoon," this was my first time travel romance. I've avoided the whole sub-genre because, to be honest, it sounded just plain silly to this lover of hard science fiction. I was agreeably surprised to find myself sitting up until all hours, reading this book straight through to its end, because I simply had to know what would happen to the characters! If you enjoy a mildly spicy romance, with mystery woven into the plot and a touch of magic that's applied with a light hand (just enough to make the story work), you will like this one for sure. In the year 1713, Maria Hallett is seduced and abandoned by the pirate, Black Sam Bellamy. Pregnant, she almost dies giving birth to his son, but help comes in the form of a stranger, a stranger her father sent for.Modern OB-GYN, Dr. Angus McPherson is on his way to a delivery at the hospital, when he is flagged down by a man in the rain and goes to help the man's daughter, who is weak from loss of blood after a difficult birth. Angus soon comes to love the young mother, Maria Hallett, and agrees to stay in the past and marry her, to prevent her going to jail accused of witchcraft. Maria reluctantly agrees to the match, but warns him that her heart belongs to Sam Bellamy and she can never love another. Can Angus ever win her love, when Maria is so determined not to forget her pirate? And what would happen to them if Sam ever returns to claim his son and his woman? This is a fast paced, page turning book and I was eager to see what happens next. It is based on a true story, but some things have changed for the book, adding to the story of Maria Hallett, rather than detracting from it. Maria starts off as a bit of a tearaway, but marriage and motherhood have settled her and her transition from child to young woman was deftly handled. The subplots inlcude family feuds and Maria's gradual acceptance by the community who were convinced that she was a witch. The ending was a little abrupt, but it certainly intrigues and would make you want to know what happens in the sequel "Port Call To The Future." All in all, a very good read. Reviewed by Annette Gisby, author of Silent Screams For those of us who have followed Janet's writing over the years, House Call to the Past is a real treat. Drawing on her own family history, Janet has woven a tale of time travel, high drama and romance by focusing on her great grandmother, Maria Hallet as the heroine and the doctor, Angus McPherson, as the hero of the story. Dr. Angus suddenly found himself in the past while on the way to deliver a baby, about to be born to Maria's descendant, Blair Smyth-Black, of Hyannis. He found himself in the year 1713, delivering Maria's child in Yarmouth instead. Maria's child was that of Black Sam Bellamy, with whom Maria was madly in love, even though he was again at sea, and there was a chance she would never see him again. This was just the start of the adventure, as Dr. Angus quickly found that he had to convince the locals that Maria was no witch, then marry her to keep her from death. Black Sam had vowed to come back rich and reclaim his Maria. Dr. Angus vowed to keep it from happening. Maria was torn between the kindness and goodness of Dr. Angus and her love for Bellamy. Eventually Black Sam came to retrieve his Maria and his son, arriving one stormy night aboard his ship, the Whydah. I found the tale to be exciting and one that kept me reading until the last page. Janet has promised a sequel to be titled, Port Call to the Future, where fans will learn just what happened to Black Sam Bellamy. We're all waiting. Before diving in, calibrate your expectations--this is light fun romance. There are scifi-style time shifts from 1713 to 1992 and back again, but without scifi-style explanation. In a thunderstorm, by simply walking across a field to help someone in evident distress, Dr. Angus McPhearson walks into the past. Just suspend your disbelief, as you do when watching a tape of Brigadoon, which the good doctor was watching right before this scene.

customer 's review (Is it just me?)
(Marvelous writng and story lines! I'm hooked.) Another reviewer has pretty much covered the storyline in this book so I don't feel that I need to add anything in that respect. I like books about time travel and as much as I enjoyed the story, for some reason I found this book VERY difficult to read. Ms. Rogers does not use ten dollar words but her sentence structure seems extremely convoluted. Dozens of times while I read this book I would read for a while and then I would stop because I had absolutely no idea what I had just read. I found myself going back to read the same paragraph or series of paragraphs two or more times because I did not understand what she had written. I probably won't get any more of her books simply because they are so difficult to read. Perhaps she needs to get a new editor... The 1st story to this marvelous tale began in a short story found in two books called "Sprinkle of Fairy Dust"&"Emerald Enchantment" when we first meet fairie King Comlan's sister Lissan who falls in love w/a human.
Followed up by the marvelous story of King Comlan and his beloved human Amy in "Once Upon A Time" and now we have their daughter Lissan's story in "Happily Ever After."
When Amy's life span in human years had come to it's end, King Comlan carried her to his sister's fairy ring to take her back to his fairy realm. Their daughter Lissan watched and saw them disappear, and disobeying his commands, stepped into the fairy ring and tried to follow the strange pattern she saw her father walk within the ring, when suddenly she falls back through time to meet Rory O'Connor, who has just led his warriors into battle and she has just fallen, apparently from the sky, into the middle of a battle and more shocking, into the path of a warrior's broadsword. Luckily, with the magical amulet her mother had pinned to her garment, she has been left her unharmed, leaving the shocked warriors all around to believe she is the "White Witch" foretolled of. Why is she not dead? It is now up to Lissan to prove herself to these people and to this very handsome Rory that she is not a spy and not out to hurt them. But Lissan has no idea why she was left unharmed in the battle, how did she end up back in time and how did her father and mother disappear in the ring of flowers? So many questions soon to be answered about who she really is.
By the end of this fabulous story you will be so in love with this family you will never want their story to end!
Thank goodness Marylyle Rogers has given us one more book to follow the story of Hildie, Rory's daughter, in "Long Ago and Far Away." There's more to leaarn about Hildie in "Happily Ever After" and how she is related to the fairy realm, too!Whatever will I do once I've read Hildie's book, I do not yet know. I am so enthralled with these stories of the Tuatha de Danann, and of anything involving King Comlan and his realm, that I can't stand to see them end on paper. They'll remain in my memory for along time. These stories are strong and true. Marylyle Rogers' writing is pure joy. A beautiful maiden is transported eight centuries into the past, into the arms of Lord Rory O'Connor, but when rumors fly that Lissan is the White Witch of legend, her only hope lies in her father's fairy blood, her mother's mysterious unicorn amulet, and her love for Rory. customer 's review (An average compilation) This volume is composed of three novellas involving time travel. Overall, I'd rate it an average read for a romance compilation. It wasn't terribly bad, but nothing distinguished it from the pack, either."Winter's Bride" by Sandra Davidson sends a romance author headlong into the 17th century, where she meets a handsome colonist. Unfortunately, he has a secret which may separate them forever. This story had a somewhat interesting premise, and I found Sheena and the minor characters compelling. Unfortunately, the "hero" seemed unusually dim and controlling, even for an alpha-male romance hero. The writing was good, but all in all I'd rate this story average. "A Cold Day in Paradise" by Kathryn Hockett catapults a journalist back 100 years to save a dashing hero outlaw from the certain death at the hands of a crooked lawman. This story was by far the weakest of the three. The writing was uneven and sometimes difficult to follow. Perhaps it's just this edition, but there were times when I could only imagine text had been *omitted* -- it was *that* confusing. The hero Lance was appealing, but the villain isn't fleshed out at all (nor did he seem reasonable), and the speed at which the story unfurled seemed *very* uneven. "Winter Song" by Lisa Plumley sends a businesswoman back to the Wild West and hooks her up with a saloon keeper. This story was probably my favorite of the three, with appealing characters and a fairly decent plot. I found the insecurity of the main characters understandable, leading to a believable conflict. The writing was decent and even, and the story moved along at a comfortable pace. All in all, this book was a conventional compilation of novellas, but there's nothing in it to separate it from the huge stack of similar books in the romance genre. Rerations < Timeless Winter >

It's the kind of story that stays with you&leaves you asking for more. I'll be on the lookout for more of SLL's works. This was the first book of Susan Leslie Liepitz's that I have ever read and I was captivated from start to finish. Her writing is wonderful ... descriptive, sensitive and very touching. The story was so believable that by the end, I was almost in tears. Don't pick up this book unless you you have the time to finish it in one setting, it is that good. [An] ingenious slant on time-travel, combined with the paranormal, makes this book complex, full of riveting emotions, historically vibrant, and a magnetic read that pulls the reader in. The spellbinding ending is just the frosting on the top." I really enjoyed this book. Very believable explanation of time travel. The characters were wonderful. A fast and enjoyable read. I will look for more books on time travel from this author. Cara finds her true identity of her psychic being. Intriguing and semi-romantic. It was a nice story but semi hard to believe. But its fiction, right? It kept me reading, but ... I cant tell you the ending, wish I could. customer 's review (Really good Scottish fling)
(A BLAST TO THE PAST)
(In My Opinion)
(Definitely a blast.)
(Very well done!) I really enjoyed this time travel from Ms. Farmer. Not only did the main characters mesh really well, the secondary characters were great (the two elders especially). I would recommend this for time travel romances lovers.
Time travel books are always fun to read. I liked this one because it was a man that did the time travel and of course saved the day. This is a very interesting story. Most of the books that I have read on time travel have been from the female point of view.
Traveling back in time through the eyes of a male was very refreshing and the story seemed to have more substance and strength in the characters, as well as the story line.
I really recommend this book. Chief Brian Skelley is supervising a bomb search and diffusion training exchange exercise in Scotland when a strange relic is discovered. One that explodes and sends Skelley man back in time to 1301, the time of William Wallace's rebellion. Caira Mackenzie is struggling to keep her secret (both her husband and her father are now dead and Castle Kilbeinn is without a laird) from the nearby British. Can the recently discovered Skelley help or hinder Caira? A Blast to the Past is brisk, breezy fun, with the adventure aspects getting just as much attention as the romantic story. All in all a short and satisfying read. Recommended. Bombs are not normally creative, but a blast from one creates a new life and new hope in this tale. Brian Skelley rockets back from the present day to the days of Braveheart in Scotland. The ancient Scots are not sure what this sooty, burned man is. He might be an English Sassenach, and a danger. On the other hand, he could be one of the Wallace's men, and as such would help get rid of the English.Brian at first, of course, can't believe he not only was not blown to bits, but is back in time. Once he adjusts, he secures a place for himself as a bard and sets out to make a bomb, hoping to reverse the process. The hitch in his plan is that Caira Mackenzie is the loveliest woman he's ever laid eyes on, and going back to the future would leave her behind. *** Ms Farmer has well used familiar elements to create a romantic version of Connecticut Yankee, with a happier ending. Caira is a strong and admirable heroine, longing for both love and independence she can only have simultaneously with a man like Brian. Though the story is one we know well, it's also well done. *** Amanda Killgore The bomb went off, and US Navy explosives technician Brian Skelley figured he'd been blown to Kingdom Come. Instead, he'd been blown to fourteenth-century Scotland--and into the arms of the most beautiful woman ever. But was she worth getting involved, trying to stop the historic cruelty of the English? Could he give up his career and stay in another time? Was it wrong to introduce these people to explosives?Caira Mackenzie hadn't time for marriage; she'd been too busy protecting herself and her people at Castle Kilbeinn. But when the dangerous stranger dropped into her life, he ignited something inside her. Brian was a type of warrior she'd never seen, and his strength was unquestioned--but could she trust him with the secrets of her clan and heart? One thing was sure: The whole adventure would end with a bang. Rerations < A Blast to the Past >

customer 's review (Is the past carved and etched in stone?)
(Supernatural romance that is good and unusual) Etched in Stone is a highly sensual, time-travel romance. Jayna, an ambitious Egyptologist, is trapped in a tomb, dying, when she reads the hieroglyphs on the walls, telling the story of an Egyptian queen who killed her husband. Somehow, she travels back in time and inhabits the killer-queen's body, who shares her name. She learns that the queen is party to a conspiracy to assassinate her husband, the great Pharoah Amony. But Jayna has no wish to kill anyone, nor can she stay away from Amony. Though her life may be in forfeit, she must find a way to tell Amony the truth. Later, Jayna wonders if she was sent back to a previous life to prevent her true love's death. Can she change 4,000 years worth of history that has been Etched in Stone? Throughout the book, the heady atmosphere and intricate details weave an enchanting story of the times and people of ancient Egypt. Boston University graduate Jayna Monroe lies near death in a remote tomb of the Great King Amony. She fell into the area she currently remains with no one else nearby to rescue her. Knowing she will die soon, Jayna knows no one will mourn her parting. She stoically interprets the hieroglyphics that explain that Amony's queen killed him.Not too long after that, Jayna fades only to revive at the court of Amony in the body of the queen also named Jayna. The Egyptologist vows to stop the queen and her fellow conspirators from murdering Amony. As she fails to persuade Amony about the danger he faces, Jayna looks more and more like the person most likely to assassinate the pharaoh. Meanwhile, Jayna falls in love with Amony and now is even willing to risk her life to keep him safe. ETCHED IN STONE is a pleasant historical fiction time travel work with some romance elements in the plot. The enticing story line centers on Jayna's efforts to keep Amony safe. Though a student of Egyptology, Jayna adjusts too easily to her new world. She is a great character for readers to follow as she has one adventure after another. The support cast, including Amony, provide period depth with tidbits about Ancient Egypt and help the audience understand Jayna better. Dimitri Eann furnishes fans of Ancient historical tales with a well-written, fun to read novel. Harriet Klausner From childhood, archaeologist Jayna Monroe has been obsessed with all things Egyptian. Joining an archaeological dig in search of a mysterious Egyptian pharaoh, Jayna discovers the Great King Amony’s tomb. But the thrill of her discovery is short lived as Jayna becomes trapped inside the four-thousand-year-old burial chamber. As she lay dying, Jayna reads the hieroglyphs and realizes Amony was brutally murdered by his green-eyed Queen. What had Amony done to cause his wife to kill him? Death claims Jayna before she can find an answer in the ancient pictures.Only Jayna hasn’t died. She’s been swept back in time to Ancient Egypt where she learns she not only inhabits the murderous, green-eyed Queen’s body, but, unlike the Queen, Jayna’s both physically and emotionally drawn to Amony. But does she dare use the Queen’s body to satisfy her own desires, even if by doing so she can save Amony’s life? Caught up in the Queen’s search for vengeance and court treachery, Jayna soon wonders if there’s more going on than she’d first suspected. Has she really been thrown back in time? Or has she been drawn back to a previous life to kill the man she’ll love forever? As Jayna searches for the answers, she finds herself fighting for her own life as well as Amony’s. (Truly captivating)
(FINDING FIONA) I enjoyed Finding Fiona as it combined a historical fiction with tracing family lineage and a compelling love story. Also the possibilities of paranormal and psycic abilities by the characters held my interest to the end. I also liked that this book has a strong relationship between Maddie and her father and Maddie and her aunt. Actually, my favorite character was the middle-aged Aunt Margaret, a person totally comfortable with who she is. I enjoyed Patrick and Maddie's discussion in Chapter 10 about the importance of men and women finding a profession they love--and if that passion is teaching an appreciation of history, so much the better! The French Creole and Irish phrases scattered through, plus quaint terms of yesteryear such as "mitten money" added greatly to the book. Finding Fiona is a delightful combination: contemporary love story, historical fiction, detective story, time-travel, mystery, and suspense. All topped-off by embedded French and Irish phrases and Maine accents. Schoenecker has crafted a well-written and well-researched novel that entices one to keep reading! Her characters are believable and likable ...well, most of them! Their lives are woven together by incidents beyond their control. Anyone who lives in, has visited, or loves the state of Maine will recognize many of the place names. A clever and captivating tale with heart! Finding Fiona includes elements of love, desire, angst&a bit of mystery beautifully. This book was truly captivating from the first page to the last. I loved that there were pieces of history from that area of Maine - I didn't want it to end! FINDING FIONA IS AN EXCELLENT READ. GRABS YOU IMMEDIATELY&DOESN'T LET YOU PUT IT DOWN. (Lame Characters, So-so Time Travel)
(Sixpence Bride)
(The Sixpence Bride)
(Awesome book) Okay, I only got to page 44 before I HAD to quit reading this so I can't really rate the entire book, but what I did read I did not like.
I love time travel books, but to have the "heroine" travel back in time and actually physically switch bodies with another person...uh uh. It was just to weird for me and I didn't really see the point.
I really liked Ms. Farmer's other time travel book that I've read "A Blast to the Past" and thought I'd give this one a try. I'm glad I stopped at page 44 and I'm equally thankful I checked this out at the library instead of having actually paid for it. I bought this book because the plot sounded cool but it never really developed beyond "Wow what am I doing here" and "My husband is hot".
At the end of this novel, I still have NO CLUE as to the inner workings of either the hero or the heroine, besides the fact that the heroine at one point had some body image issues, which so quickly resolved after she lost weight - despite the fact that everybody from the maid to her husband told her she looked fine.
The hero remains poorly sketched. Apparently he's handsome, but really, at the end of this novel, I didn't care. *yawn*
The one positive was the unusual time travel method (heroine switches place with another woman), but if you're into time travel there are WAY BETTER BOOKS OUT THERE! (i.e. anything by Karen Marie Moning) I loved this book, couldn't put it down. If you love time travel books with humor, this is the book for you. Also there is a sequel written called "Spenceworth Bride", which I'm reading now. This book was highly recomended to me, unfortunately it was so slow and boring! The main character of Jocelyn was so scared to believe she had time traveled, then suddenly she has perfectly adjusted to the 18th century. Everyone loves her, though we never understan exactly why because they think shes crazy. This is one of those books you start and put down unfortunately I didn't I kept hoping it would improve. It didn't. Save you time and money. Jocelyn Tanner was part of a mock bride auction. When her blood sugar dropped (the symptoms sounded like Hypoglycemia) she sat down to keep from passing out. Instead, she passed through time! After the blackness faded, she found herself in a real bride auction! She was sold for a sixpence to Lord Garren Spenceworth and immediately wed.Garren's father had found out that he had bed Melody, a widow. His father took the opportunity to demand Garren wed within one month or he would choose a bride for Garren! The month was near the end. Out of spite to the ultimatum, Garren purchased a bride. It did not matter to him that she spoke strangely OR that she swore she was in a stranger's body! But when he fell in love with her the trouble began. Now Melody and her brother were causing trouble, a gypsy lady kept appearing at odd times to help Jocelyn out and tell her that someone else was transferred into her twentieth century body, and happiness seemed impossible! Oh, how I hope the lady who went to the twentieth century has her story next! This one is a KEEPER! You would do well to order in advance so you do not forget! DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS ONE! Highly recommended! Awesome! Jilted by her fiance, Jocelyn Tanner had to struggle not to believe that her own value had been somehow diminished. Still, she knew better than to let that fear ruin her tour of England. But no one had explained to her that there would be a mock bride auction--or that she would be sucked back in time to the close of the eighteenth century.Suddenly Jocelyn found herself in another time, another body, and in a real auction--being claimed by a real hunk of a man. Still, her bride price hardly seemed flattering. And the handsome Garren had not yet shown her the attention for which she yearned. But as she began to make this new body her own, she saw interest flare behind the lord's reserved facade. She'd soon show him--and herself--in pounds or pennies, no one was worth more than his Sixpence Bride. Rerations < Sixpence Bride (Timeswept) >

(An Engaging Love Story with Twists in Time) This was a very well written story about one man's love for a special woman so he crosses the bridges of time itself to correct an error of judgement from long ago. The characters in this book were definetly believable. Interesting. Human. Mael MacRaigl is what a woman would hope to find once in their lifetime. Jeanne McBen is the object of Mael's affection and one very lucky lady! The characters sizzle with chemistry. This is the kind of story that makes you want to believe in happily ever after, no matter what the cost..... I recommend this book for lovers of anything to do with highlanders or Scotland. It is a believable plot, on that is definetly different and sure to please. Reviewed by Anne Boling for Reader Views (12/06)
A virus is on the rampage in 2005, leaving women sterile and men dying at a young age. The human race is in jeopardy of extinction. Doctor Jeanne McBen has discovered a cure that involves ancient DNA. Her mentor Trench is determined to get his hands on the cure and use it to make a fortune selling it to the wealthy. Trench holds Ryan, Jeanne's brother, captive, threatening to kill him if she doesn't cooperate. When Trench finds a portal where time bends he drags Jeanne back in time with him.
The Scottish peasants think Jeanne is a witch and tie her to a stake and light a fire under her. Mael McRaigl, the Laird of the clan, rescues her and takes her back to his castle with him. With the arrival of Jeanne and Trench in ancient Scotland comes death. The locals suspect a vampire is among them. Rachel is sure it is Trench collecting blood.
Mael's sister has married against his wishes. Is Lord Tyron truly a monster of the night or is it just superstition? Why would a beautiful young woman sell her soul? Will Mael give up Jeanne for the Clan? How much is he will to sacrifice for love?
"All I Want" by Sally Painter is a beautifully written romance. The characters are well developed and come to life on the pages. Mael is strong, handsome and the perfect mate for Jeanne. Jeanne is beautiful and brilliant and does not lack cunning. It is obvious that Mael and Jeanne are soul mates. Both Trench and Tyrone are secondary characters that are interesting. Both men are frightening and evil. Verica, the keeper of the portal, has deep dimensions to her character. I would enjoy her showing up in other books. The love story between Mael and Jeanne is intense. The lovemaking is fierce and left me breathless. I really enjoyed "All I Want" and highly recommend it to others that enjoy erotic romance, time travel and a really good read. "All I Want" is a really engaging love story with a decent plot and hottie-hot hero. The heroine is smart but not perfect, so the reader can relate to her. I was very impressed by Ms. Painter's story-telling and the way she wrapped up every loose end (time travels always have frayed edges!) and although the book had more explicit scenes than I usually read, the author handled them tastefully and they fit the characters. All I Want By Sally Painter 1250 A.D. A total solar eclipse darkened all of Europe. It was the kind of event ripe for birthing a legend…a man and a woman who loved each other so much each gave their life for the other. …or so the legend goes. Jeanne McBen's antiserum for a modern day plague is stolen, and her brother kidnapped by the madman responsible. Desperate, she stumbles into the arms of sexy highlander Mael MacRaigl, but must learn to trust her intuition instead of science and embrace the wild, passionate love and final truth he brings. Mael MacRaigl, a tormented man, lost his one true love, Jeanne McBen, 755 years ago. He's found a way to be with her again and is depending on the burning passion they sharedto span across centuries. There's just one problem—Jeanne doesn't remember him and when he sends her back to 1250 AD, Mael doesn't know her. Can Mael and Jeanne rediscover the deep, fiery love they once knew? Can Mael woo her into his bed long enough to win her heart—again—and stop their separation from happening a second time? Rerations < All I Want >
