(A good idea in theory.)

(A little lacking, but otherwise fun diversion/GH fix)

(guitar hero)

(Does not work with the Nintendo DSi)

(Review by 11 year old girl)
The idea itself doesn't sound bad at all. A guitar hero games, holding the DS like a guitar neck, a special DS controller, I mean, what can go wrong?

Well, I'll admit, I'm not a die-hard fan of the Guitar Hero series or anything, but they are fun games to play for sure. This game, however, just doesn't seem to have that same feeling as the others. The songs, as they are stuffed on a DS cart I'm sure, are pretty horrible quality, and the game itself just seems a little hastily made.

There is also the fact that trying to play the game makes my wrist and arm feeling like they are being stabbed to death. It is not a comfortable game to play in any way at all. I'm not really sure how they could have designed it better, but the way it is now doesn't really work.

Stick to the big console versions of the game, and use your DS for the things it was designed for.

I've been a huge Guitar Hero fan since the first incarnation on the PS2, although after GH3 I lost a little faith and moved into (and remain in) the Rock Band camp. I was a little skeptical when I picked up the game as my FIRST Nintendo DS game, but it certainly delivered what was promised. It's not the most "authentic" Guitar Hero experience, but it's just enough to get your rythym based, portable game fix.

The game offers a decent mix of 25 different songs, most of them original recordings. The recordings are decent, although they are best enjoyed via headphones - even cheaper, MP3 player headphones sounded better than the DS's small speakers. Graphically the game is not too impressive but in all fairness it doesn't make a huge difference as you'll probably be focused entirely on the stream of green, red, yellow, and blue buttons to see the clunky looking avatars.

The game's difficulty ranges from laughably easy (even on hard) to frustratingly difficult. The reason for the latter is due to the inclusion of the "Guitar Duel" mode. The DS version of this feature fully utilizes the DS's stylus and microphone in its "punishments" and require more involvement than its console counterpart. It takes a while, but once mastered I found the Duel mode a lot more interesting than the career mode, which seemed fairly short (only 25 songs, no unlockable songs).

The biggest problem I had with the game was the control system. Holding the DS will be a preference different for everyone, and doesn't seem that intuitive. Additionally using the stylus was hit or miss - sometimes it worked flawlessly, other times it never really registered. This was the biggest reason in my markdown to a 4.

Overall the game is fun, albeit short. I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but the game manages to capture some aspects of its full-fledged counterparts admirably. I recommend the game for anyone who needs to get their GH fix, even while on the road, although if you're looking for very responsive controls or a huge selection of songs you may want to wait for the price to come down a bit.

purchased for my eight year old son to replace a broken cord panel. Product identical to one newly purchased at half the price. extremely satisfied.
The included hardware has adapters for the Nintendo DS Lite and Nintendo DS, but none for the DSi. That is not obvious from the product information.

This review and rating is specific to playing this game on the DSi. It may work quite well for the older consoles and you should read the other reviews for that.

This game isn't all it's cracked out to be! You get bored of it easily. I unlocked all of the songs within my first 2 weeks of playing. The medium difficulty is too easy for me and the hard difficulty is way too hard. You can't even slow down the songs in practice mode, it's full speed ahead from the beggining. I was going to do multiplayer with my brother, but you have to buy another whole game and guitar grip. I didn't want to spend another [...] bucks on a game I barely even liked! But I guess the game is OK, I like to sing along with the All Star song. ;) Overall, I give it 3 stars, the game is just OK.

(One of my favorite games for the DS)

(Great! Lots of good features.)

(My son plays it alot)
Some games you'll get for the DS are simply stripped down versions of what you can buy for other systems, and they feel like it. The limited functionality translates into less time you're going to want to spend playing them. FIFA '09 isn't one of those games. It's true that it has its flaws, such as players sometimes having no resemblance to the real people and there being only a select number of stadiums. This however has little bearing on the game play which is as realistic and intense as the real thing. In contrast to other ("stripped down") DS sports games, you have the "Be a Pro" mode to play around with; while Amazon descriptions of other games such as MLB Power Pros 2008 refer to playing modes that won't actually be included in your DS version. These days, the bottom line is value, and this game offers a lot of it. If you manage to find this game on sale, for the cost of going to the movies, you're going to have hours upon hours of fun gametime. The only DS sports game I've found to be more addictive than this one is Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, but you can probably chalk this up to being a matter of taste.
Graphics are a little lame, but the gameplay more than makes up for it. I appreciate the depth of the features included -- season play for multiple leagues, substitutions, formation changing and editing, league tables, etc. Cons: Find it difficult to see how tired my players are. Wish there was more in depth statistics tracking (doesn't keep track of goalie saves). Doesn't keep track of match events after the end of the game.

I highly recommend!

customer 's review
(A great break from the general Pokemon games)

(not lovin it.)

(This was a gift)

(looks kiddish, but hard for a kid to understand)

(Fun and a little addicting)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time excels in both fun and challenge. It certainly is much improved from the previous Mystery Dungeon games, Red and Blue. The storyline is beyond impressive, and Treasure Town has been amplified beautifully and gives the player so much to do. It also adds a really addicting and useful minigame where you identify the footprints of Pokemon. (This gives the player "Poke", the game's currency of money. So it's not only fun and gives you a break from dungeons, but it's useful and you can play it anytime.) The previous games in this series lacked that and more, making the game annoying.
There is almost no downside to this game unless you are too used to the usual Pokemon game that revolves around battling. While there is combat in Mystery Dungeon, it is brought down to a different level and is revamped entirely. The game gives you a much needed break from the stresses on constant battling in games such as Pokemon Diamond. A lot of reviews complain about the reading level and quantity. Albeit, the quantity is rough, but you should really be buying less intense games for your kids anyway. I'd recommend this game for kids ages 8 and up.
There is little difference between Time and Darkness except the availability in Pokemon throughout the game. Time has a huge advantage over Darkness because it gives the player access to the Pokemon Lucario, which is extremely popular because it was featured in a Pokemon movie and it is highly loved by the younger audience of Pokemon (especially boys.) Darkness has access to much weaker and less exciting Pokemon, such as Lopunny and Rotom, which is why Time is favored.
The storyline is very involved and really pulls the player in, while still keeping it kid friendly and thought provoking. The game is challenging, and at times can really work your brain muscles, because no two dungeons are ever the same.
The graphics done in classic sprite style are adorable and innovative, giving this game a look of its own that seperates it from other games.

All being said, this game deserves no less than 5 stars.

I have a 6 year old who kept asking for Pokemon and I did'nt know which one to pick. Well as odds would have it I picked the wrong one. There was too much story and reading. Although my son can read, this was over the top. Would not recommend it until about age 8 or so.
This was a gift and don't see them playing it very often so I really don't know about it.
For this to be a Pokemon game it really incorporates an advanced RPG story. If you're into mystery dungeon type game play this could be one of the best games for you. I won't echo whats already been said in other reviews, but I will talk about something rarely brought up.

What makes this game stand out from any other DS game is its wifi feature. I was defeated in a dungeon and instead of given a game over screen I was presented with the option to be rescued via wifi. I selected that option and someone, somewhere rescued me and I was notfied of the rescue via a text message (which can be an e-mail also).

This feature adds total replay value to the game, being able to rescue not just NCPs, but real players. There's a big joy that comes with knowing you rescued a real gamer.

I am a big Pokemon fan, so I love Pokemon games. When I started playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, I fell in love with it. I can't find one flaw in this game. The music fits every scene, the dungeons are challenging and the guild members are lovely. I never get bored with this game. The story is very interesting and even has a few plot twists. So surprising. I love all the color this game has. It's beautiful. And all of the missions keep the game challenging and fun. The dungeon designs are hard to figure out, but that's what keeps it interesting. This is easy at first, but it soon gets hard, but it wouldn't be very fun if it were easy, would it? The story is actually fast, depending on how much you play the game. I got through the storyline in a week. It was hard, but I loved it. The graphics are bright and beautiful. This game is flawless to me.

Pokémon 101
What are Pokémon? Pokémon come I all shapes and sizes. Each Pokémon has one or two types of moves (such as Grass, Fire or Water) which it uses in battle. Pokémon also develop their own personalities, likes and dislikes – just like humans do. Pokémon and humans have learned to live and work together in harmony to create a better life for all.

Pokémon grow and evolve in different ways. When Pokémon travel with a Pokémon trainer, they gain experience from battling other Pokémon and other trainers. Pokémon can also gain experience by staying at the Pokémon daycare, but nothing beats first-hand battle experience. All Pokémon have one ortwo innate element types. Pokémon types reflect the strengths and weaknesses as well as the environments they originated from. For example Fire-type Pokémon are often found near hot environments, excel in fire-type moves and are weak against Water-type moves. If you know what type of Pokémon youropponent is using, it is usually a good strategy to use the opposing type. Gym leaders and trainers always use one or two Pokémon types. Like most creatures, Pokémon live in environments suited to their needs. A skilled Pokémon trainer will search everywhere for Pokémon and learn where to finddifferent types. Some Pokémon are more elusive than others. You will need key items such as a fishing pole to catch some Pokémon.

Starting out in the game you find yourself transformed into a Pokémon! After taking a Pokémon personality test the form of your Pokémon will be revealed. Washed ashore on the beach a fellow Pokémon is beside you asking for your help in finding lost treasure. You can form rescue teams to discover the mystery around your transformation as you hunt for lost treasure along the way. Explore this fantastic land untouched by human hands as you join hundreds of Pokémon in randomly-generated dungeons.

Utilizing the Wi-fi connection feature enables players to rescue each other or send out your own SOS for help. With 16 available playable Pokémon including Chimarchar, Munchlax, Piplup as well as previous Pokémons including Pikachu, Squirtle, and Charmander the fun never stops! (Boring for an adult)

(MySims is a lot of FUN!)

(Sons loves it)

(Not the best Sims, but not the worst either!)

(Fun and easy to pick up.)
I find this game to be really boring so far. Reading the other reviews, it sounds like I need to put in a few more hours of game play before it gets more interesting, but I'm not sure that I'm willing to invest the time in it. The characters and dialog seem really childish, and it just doesn't appeal to me at all.

There's a dark skinned character in the game who speaks with poor English, which strikes me as possibly racist. He says "sumtin" instead of "something", "mah" instead of "my". All the dialog in the game appears to be translated by non-native English speakers, and I wonder if this is how Japanese people think that dark skinned Americans speak? I'm only a few hours into the game, but this is the only dark skinned character I've come across so far, and he's the only one who speaks like this. Maybe there's something later in the game that would make me more comfortable with this character.

Clearly there are other adults who enjoyed this game, so maybe I'm in the minority, but for an adult, I'd recommend something like Sims Castaway.

MySims is a fun game! You can to go into the casino and play Tic-Tac-Trump or Exactly 21. You can design your own house, room by room. You meet lots of different characters. You earn money by being nice to the tourists. You can go shopping or go on a boat that travels across town and go to the Entertainment Area or to the Disco. There's also an airport, little shops, and you can play different sports. I really like this game. My sister and I have several of the different MySims games.
My 8 1/2 year old son is having a great time with this game. He is learning about responsibility and having fun at it too. He shows me all the houses he has and what he has bought to put in them. I want to take some time to make my own person and try the game out it looks so fun.
If you are true Sims lover and have ever played on PS2 or PC, this game is probably not for you. But if you have a kid that wants to play your Sims games on PS2 or PC and you don't want them to because of the sexual content, etc etc, BUY THEM THIS GAME! I bought this for my 8 yr old who always wants to play my games on PS2 and PC but I am uncomfortable with some of the content. The solution? I got her a DS Lite and some games like this one. SHE LOVES IT! It's just her speed. She gets to create a Sim and create the clothes and decorate the house and go on tiny little Sim missions, only this game is so mild you don't have to worry about any kind of adult content. I'm an avid Sims lover and I've even played the game a few times out of pure boredom and it's not too bad just not as good or indepth as the other versions. Bottom line, my kids love it.
Got this for my wife's birthday (who loves her DS) and she really likes it. So loves to decorate the Sims house, dress them and to all the little side missions. I chose this over Sims 2 for just those features and I think as far as my wife is concerned - I made the right choice.

I too found it fun, though a little simplistic. I play a lot of Xbox 360 and the games I play are usually NOTHING like this. But it's still fun if I'm just sitting in bed or want something to do on a long trip.

Definitely recommended.

Explore a new world with MySims it's your world to transform! Move to a town that has been struggling lately. With a little creativity and some help from the locals, you can make this place thrive. Improve the town to attract new characters, from Chef Gino Delicioso and DJ Candy Supergroove to arcade owner, Vic Vector and Cap'n Ginny, the town pirate. Discover what the residents want and need, so that you can help them enjoy life in your Sim's new town. Design a hot tub or jukebox from scratch, build homes and businesses from the roof to the front door. Uncover special decorations and patterns as you explore the growing town. From the furniture and objects to the buildings to the town as a whole - each of your creations is unique. In MySims, what you make makes all the difference! ESRB Rated E for Everyone

(Not what I expected!!!!!!)

(Ideal case for a student 'gamer')

(Great product!)

(A great case for your Nintendo DS Lite)

(Protect your DS Lite)
The case looks perfect on line- holds ds and 6 games, right? Well actually it holds 4 games because the 2 center openings are for SD memory cards and are too small for ds games!!!! What's the point? My kids don't have memory cards and it has nothing to do with the ds. I want what was pictured.

This is more or less the ideal case for the DS Lite, for my purposes; it's very sturdy, helping prevent damage to the console and it keeps out dust. The latch, well, latches closed with a very satisfying and secure-sounding click.

Obviously, it's nice that it can hold several games. It's a minor shame that it can't hold an AC adapter, but honestly the DS's battery life is long enough that it doesn't matter.

I use this to keep my DS Lite safe from damage inside the back pocket of my backpack, among awkwardly-shaped books and other things. It does its job very well.

I looked all over to find this case after seeing some other kids who had it. This case holds 6 games (plus one in the DS Lite). It is easy enough to open that my 6 year old can do it, but it never comes open on it's own and it seems to provide a lot of protection for the DS Lite. I love it!
My search for a case for my new Nintendo DS Lite came down to two. This DS Lite Dura-Case and the Nintendo DS Lite Nerf Armor - blue/white. After reading the reviews I actually bought both and except for one day to try out the Nerf Armor, I have used this one exclusively.

This case is designed to be used in travel, I keep it in my purse and although it is a bit bulky it keeps it safe from scratches and other damage. I also like that it holds an additional stylus and up to 6 extra game cartridges.

If there was anything I would change about this it would be adding something to make it easier to remove your DS Lite. It fits very snugly in the case (a good thing), but because of that it makes it hard to remove. I'm going to try adding a small piece of ribbon underneath, while leaving part of it out to help "pull" it up.

Overall this is an excellent case that comes in several colors and at a price that is very affordable.

I bought one of these for my son after his last DS broke. It's a very nice case for the price. The inside is lined with a rubber cushion that grips the DS Lite snugly. I placed the DS inside and turned it upside down to see if I could shake it out. It stayed put until I pried the DS out. Same with the little games. They don't budge until I take them out. Everything holds securely.

The outside is tough plastic. We got black and it is shiny, a real fingerprint magnet. It is bulky, but that's the price we pay for the extra cushioning. Still, I find it attractive.

The button that opens the case needs a bit of pressure to work. Younger kids might have trouble with that. On the other hand, if you drop the DS in this case, it won't open up and your DS won't fly out.

My son did get pinched in the back of the case where it opens up. Be careful there. I can see how that happens when I tried it myself.

One improvement I think would be nice is if they had placed a hole where the power button is. That way, my son could play the DS without removing it. The bulk may prevent him from wanting to play like that, but at least it should be an option.

Overall, a great buy. My son can keep his DS Lite and games stored together when he lugs it around with him and his DS is protected from falls.

These hard polycarbonate cases hold your DS Lite plus six (6) extra games and an extra stylus pen. Snap your DS Lite into place and it'll feel like it just checked into a 5-star hotel. So grab a couple of your favorite games, load it up and go about your day knowing that your DS Lite is protected. Open the pressure locking system and you're ready to game. Go ahead, give it a little lovin'...spoil your DS Lite!

(Bolt DS game)

(false expectations)

(Disney's Bolt for Nintendo DS)

(Bolt)

(Quite difficult for the younger gamer (7 year old).)
I bought this game because it looked like it would be fun for my six year old. He really enjoyed the game at first until he got about half way through. The game uses a "sonic bark", to use it the player is supposed to blow or bark into the microphone. It does not work for us. We tried any which way. Unfortunately, there is a part in the game where the only way to move forward is to use the sonic bark. This is a great disappointment, since my son is now unable to finish the game. I hate to pay $30 for a game that is impossible to finish, because either the game has a glitch or the microphone on our DS does not work properly. There does not seem to be another way to get around this and that is why I gave this game a lower score. Would I have known about this problem ahead of time, I would not have bought this game.
I bought this game for my 5 and 9 year old girls. I was horrified to discover that most of the game was about shooting bad guys. There was nothing cute, or sweet, or about the story line of the movie. I returned it.
I bought this game for my 8 yrs old grandson for his birthday he loves it and has really enjoyed playing it the graphics are great also

My 5 year old son got this for Christmas and found it too frustrating. He enjoys watching me play. I personally find it a little too violent, but now I am hooked and want to finish it. I am stuck on the mini-game after Bolt gets put into the cage. I can't find any support online. I have been working on that part a little here and there for about a week and can't seem to get past it. Any help posted here is welcome! wink wink
All in all, I find it fun. The Wii is my first game system since the Atari I had as a kid, so I don't have much gaming experience to compare it too. We also have a blast with Mario Cart!!!

I thought this game would be a great buy because it was the one thing my 7 year old asked for for Christmas/Birthday. He got very frustrated with it because he said it was too hard.
I feel all is not lost because he has older brother who can get some use out of it, and also, maybe it could be a game that he could pick up some time in the future.
Bottom line; not a total waste of money, but will frustrate younger gamers and be pushed aside.

(Another good finfal fantasy tactics game!)

(Fun turn-based strategy!)

(Excellent SRPG)

(Very good for original tactics fans)

(Get this game!)
This game is as much fun as the original Final Fantasy Tectics game, however it is still not as good. I did not gave it a 5 star rating for all the reasons already discussed by previous reviewrs. The most important being: limited character customization, average story line, kind of easy (even in hard mode) and repetitive quests. If you are a fan of the original title or you like turn based strategy games, this title is definetly for you. I would highly recomend the game.
If you enjoy turn-based strategy games with some RPG elements (such as character development/levelling) and a loose fantasy plotline story arc to tie it all in...then this game is for you!

I can't put it down since I bought it.

PROS

- The flexibility of being able to change jobs and manage your clans are a nice touch are some of my favorite things about the game.

- I like the fact that you can save your game during a fight and come back it to it later...this makes this game fit my schedule perfectly.

- The graphics are some of the nicest I have seen on the DS.

Cons

- The Law system can be a bit ridiculous at times to the point of making one (or more depending on your setup) of your clan members practically useless during the fight. I'm sure they put this feature in to keep everyone from spamming a certain class or set of skills...but the end result is a bit tedious sometimes. Not enough to make me not enjoy the game though...).

This won't be a long review with lots of details.

FFTA is a Strategy Role Playing Game. The bulk of the fun part of the game is customizing your team and sending them to battles played in a turn based strategy style. The customization is where the RPG element comes in: choose your players to have different "jobs", e.g. Warrior, Black Mage, Thief, etc, and have the right team for the right mission.

This game is only the most fun for people who liked the original Final Fantasy Tactics Advance game on the Gameboy Advance.

The gameplay is exactly the same as the first game. The only big improvement I noticed was the better graphical portrayal of the different races. The top screen of the DS is used to display the current law and the privilege (a feature added in A2 that means bonuses at the end of battle if law is obeyed). In this game you don't go to jail for breaking the law, but you lose the privilege and the ability to use phoenix down to revive people. Personally I think this was an improvement, too.

If you are into strategy RPGs, this is the game for you, will literally last you over 200 hours if you try to do everything and thats just one difficulty! Very deep battle system, over 50 classes, and the graphics looks really nice, very vibrant colors, but the most important thing of course, extremely fun.
Return to Ivalice in the latest installment of the legendary FINAL FANTASY TACTICS series. Summer vacation has begun for all but one unlucky student. Alone in the school library, Luso solemnly toils away the punishment his mischief has brought him. It is there that he finds a dusty, mysterious book. Opening it, he reads aloud the only text it contains:¿One is fated to fill these barren pages. Know you his name?¿ Scrawling his name onto the next blank page, Luso unwittingly begins the first chapter of an adventure all his own.

(better than expected)

(Grumble,grumble,grumble...)

(hard for the best HM players)

(Yay Farming~)

(Both my 6-year-old and my husband love this game)
well i investigated this game a lot before buying it and all the reviews had something negative to say about it. but it is a really good game, the controls are something you have to get used to but once you do you hardly notice any problems. it has a great story and the farming is very engrossing i spent an entire 24 hour period without sleep just so that i could unlock the super crops. i highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the series.
I'm so sorry..I HATE to wright somthing bad about Harvest Moon but...I do NOT, NOT, NOT!!! Like the game play at ALL on this...Due to it being on a touch screen ONLY it takes away the fun..My arm is hurting after awhile..and its so darn slow and hard to get things done to keep the game rolling. You dont have a lot of stamina, and then there is truble of eating...Honestly I have never gorged so much on weeds in a game like this befor. The graphics are great I loved them!Happy to see its improving..^^ Love the art as well its very nice. Hehe sadly the only thing (and thank God for it) that has kept me interested was a feller in the game named Vaughn. (XD woot woot smexy cowboy!)
SO just for anyone who is cerious to buy this game..Get ready for a arm numb killer..becus there isnt pleasure in it.. (Hope the sequal's game play isnt touch screen like this one! O.O)

Thid game is exteremly hard. It takes forever to get enough money for anything.

MONEY:
Money takes a while to get I am in fall of my 1st year and havv only bought a animal shed and a bridge to the medow, were the contest are. crops early in the game raise only small income because of stamina conserns. For peaople who think you can earn money byt minning in the begenning of the game, you cant. The secend bridge unlocks it but cost a ton of money. The only thing you can do in the begening is forage and plant for money. You cant realy having a big harvest I only have 3,3 by 3's and afer a watering that you are almost out of stamina.

TIME:
Time goes by extremly fast after watering for me its late in the day. Time goes by faster than the original hm game. Time is one of the downsides for me.

Upgrades:
For those experienced HM players there are no sprites you rely on wonderful stones wich are exteremly rare. No blcksmith will just improve it like in the other HM games.

Building:
The upside is that that it only takes him 1 day to build what you want the carpenter to do. It takes a ton of money though like the bridgeI am saving up for cost 20,000 for labor and I need 500 lumber wich sells at the carpenters for 50g each. Bridges are extremely importent because they aloow you to visit new places. Every bridge or road built increases 3% to the development percentage. there are 8 roadand 3 bridges that can be Upgraded/bilt.

Fun:
On the good side it is fun and adictive but not as easy as even a experienced HM player would think. I am a expert at HM for DS original.
I still wasn't expecting it to be this hard. don't think you now it all about harvest moon intil you see this game. I, even with all the downslides would by the game

This game is addicting but the controls are bad. As other reviews have said, the use of the d-pad would be a nice thing to have back...or at least have as an option; with this game, however, movement is stylus only. All that aside, I really do enjoy the game. It can sometimes feel like *all* you're doing is chores, but they all lead to greater goals in the game (e.g. money, marriage, children, etc.) Overall a cute, fun, addicting game that you can lose track of time playing.
Our daughter got a DS for Christmas last year and this was one of the games she got. The first time she played it, my husband helped her with the reading and getting things all set up...and managed to get himself hooked on it. He said it's the closest modern thing to his old favorite game, SimFarm, that he's come across. Now both daugther and husband have their own game saves and they often compare how many animals and buildings and what not they have. I've overheard conversations about new chickens and calves, new buildings being built, various festivals where they can win prizes, and different upgrades to their houses.
Even though she still needs help with some of the text and conversations, it's a big hit with the 6-year-old. It's easy enough that she can follow along without getting frustrated, but it's fun for adults as well.
Harvest Moon is another DS hit in our house.

You're shipwrecked! Luckily no one was hurt and most of the passengers set sail for their destinations, but you found an abandoned homestead on this remote island. With hard work and skillful farming, you will prosper and help your adventurous shipmates establish a new village with roads, bridges and exciting places to visit. There's a lot of farming to do, people to date and animals to care for, it's a new beginning and a chance to raise a farming family of your own!
InHarvest Moon: Island of Happinessplayers' plans to start a new life are drastically changed when the ship you are on is destroyed by a tropical storm. Now you find yourself stranded on an isolated island with a family of four from the ship. However, it seems that the island once was inhabited before…what happened to the people that used to live there? As you develop the island by growing crops, taking care of animals and expanding your farm, others will start to move onto the island and this mystery may be solved. The better you do, the more the island will grow. Though it was not your original dream, now is your chance to create your very own paradise.

First Things First: Farming
Working with your fellow refugees, your first order of business is to create a farm. With what you grow you will soon be able to feed yourself and your fellow castaways and eventually will graduate to raising animals (some of the animals included are: cows, sheep, chickens and ducks). As you build up your farm, people who have an interest in the farming business move on over to the island and seek you out. These people open up shops and facilities, contributing to the island's development, and provide you with new areas to explore and new people to speak with.

Getting Married
What good is paradise without someone to share it with? Once players have established themselves on the island by building and maintaining a farm and successfully raising animals on their homestead they will begin to notice that there are quite a few more people on the island than they initially suspected. Like yourself, many of these new faces are looking for someone to share their lives with. In addition to success on the farm, marriage also requires a few other requirements, but once satisfied you are free to play the field, go on dates and search available profiles for that special someone. But be careful. You will not be compatible with everyone you meet. Just a few or the bachelors and bachelorettes you will run into are:

(fun game which gets challenging after first few levels)

(Sonic's 2D Debut on the DS)

(Pretty good game)

(Fun, but a little challenging)

I just finished this game and overall, I found it fun and satisfying. If you don't like platformers but like pinball games, you might still like this. There are many reviews here which state that the game is too easy, but it is likely that those reviewers were commenting on the first few levels of the game--even profesional reviewers (such as IGN) found the game tough. The game eventually becomes very challenging, almost to the point of frustration. Unlike the Mario games, where it is possible to finish levels on a first attempt, there are many blind jumps and unknowns which do require several passes and some memorization to pass through successfully. The first two levels can be finished by pressing a single run button but that is certainly not true for the later levels, where you'll need to remember when to boost through enemies or slow down to make it through a series of tough jumps. If you can tolerate the inevitable frustration, you'll probably enjoy the game--it might be a good tool to teach kids to observe and remember details (but it's probably too hard for very young children).

Aside from the "unfair" nature of the levels (blind jumps, sudden enemies, etc.), some other things you might find annoying:
--when doing loops and running upside-down, it's not always intuitive which button (left or right) keeps you going in the correct direction. There is probably some consistency to it, but it's not very obvious (like right-button for right when Sonic is right-side up but left-button for him to go right when he's upside down)
--boss levels are repetitive and less fun than the normal levels
--poor directions on some specific gimmicks--a D-pad button icon will flash and it's not clear if you hold on or press repeatedly (you just have to find out by trial and error)
--you can't quit a level until you've finished the entire game; this is annoying because if you are stuck in a region and don't have enough tension/energy levels to boost out, you can't just quit. As far as I can tell, you have to turn off the DS. That changes after you've won the game, but why not make it an option from the beginning?

Overall, a very good game for the price.

This game belongs in the same category as New Super Mario Bros and Diddy Kong Racing: one of the best DS games in my collection. I wish they would make 2D Sonic games like this for platforms that aren't handheld (PS2, PS3, XBox 360, Gamecube, Wii) other than keeping it on the DS. I played Sonic Rivals on my PSP, and it is WAY too easy. I beat everybody's stories in a zip, and the storyline was pretty boring, too. But Blaze is awesome, and it's about time they made a female with a super form. Blaze>Silver
This game is fun and challenging, and I would recommend it to anybody that owns a DS. This game proves that Sonic games don't need amazing graphics to be way-past-cool!

Ok, but seems rather redundant--just push the "run" button to the right, and Sonic runs to the end of the level. Not as great as other games I've played, but it's ok.
This is a great Sonic game, and the speed is incredible! The graphics are quite nice, though I have had some problems in the way of jumping high enough to clear certain barriers. Overall I would consider it money well spent if you spent it on this game, great fun and moderately easy.
Well, the Advance games remedied that, but they didn't quite have the scope and balance of the original sonic games. Yes, they were fast, but they were also ... kind of small feeling. They felt like portable versions of sonic games. They were good, but I always preferred the old-school Sonic games as the real achievements.
Sonic Rush brings back your favorite blue suse with an attitude. This time, Sonic pairs up with royalty - Queen Blaze the Cat - from another dimension to save the universe from utter destruction. Sonic Rush takes full advantage of the dual screens on the Nintendo DS system to deliver a frenetic adventure with dizzying dives, near vertical curves, extreme jumps, brain-twisting loops and more!
