(My 6 yr. old LOVES Bella Sara game)
(Grandaughter Loved it.)
(SOOOOO INTO HORSES)
(Bella Sara anyone???) It is a pretty good game. I only rated it a 4 because it is very unrealistic. there are nine spots of dirty hay that you replace with clean hay, but it is in the corner of the stall, what good is that? And one horse flys, which is actually pretty neat. After about seven to ten hours, you collect all the cards and get all the horses, and there is nothing to do. Overall it is a good game. The game on Nintendo DS is the next best thing to playing it on the computer. She loves the game and plays it all the time. It is also a game that she can play by herself. I would highly recommend this game&I hope they make another one to go along with it. I bought this DS game for my 7 year old grandaughter for Christmas. She has collected the trading cards for about a year now, so when I saw that Nintendo had a Bella Sara game I knew I had to purchase it. And she was so excited, her mother says she plays with it all the time. I bought the game for my daughter who is really into horses right now. Bella Sara is her favorite on-line game, and now she can take it with her wherever she goes! She was really excited about the card that came with the game because it gave her access to a new horse on her on-line game. The graphics are so real! Very detailed and beautiful! All in all, it was her favorite Christmas gift! My daughter received this for Christmas and it was all we could do to get her to do anything else. She is also heavyly involved with the Trading Cards and enjoys going to the web site, but having the game on the DS was icing on the cake! Based on the hugely successful trading card and website for girls, Bella Sara will immerse the player in a world filled with fantasy horses. Players will be able to ride, care for, accessorize and trade horses with friends over Wi-Fi while discovering secret items, exclusive cards and codes to activate on the official website. (Very Amusing)
(Ninja Town)
(Laid back, adorable stragegy game)
(Unexpectedly FUN!) The best way to review this game would be to ask you the reader: "Do you like tower defense games like 'Bloons Tower Defense' or 'Desktop Tower Defense'?" If you can answer yes to either of those games, then you WILL NOT be disappointed.
It's your job as the Ole Ninja Master to setup your ninjas in various locations on the map to stop the oncoming hordes of enemies. Your ninjas come in different styles and flavors, including fast-but-weaker ninjas, slow-but-stronger ninjas, fireball throwing, ice throwing, pick axe area-of-effect attacking styles... and more. By strategically upgrading your ninja huts to do more damage and predicting the strength of the next enemy wave, you can keep the baddies at bay. The game has enough levels to keep you interested, but with a little skill you can actually see the end of this fine game.
I simply cannot recommend this game enough. Tower defense at it's best for the superb point and click style of the Nintendo DS. A++++
Try it. You won't be disappointed. I picked up this game knowing nothing about it at Best Buy because it was on sale for $10, and looked cute. Let me tell you - highly amusing, and one of the better $10 I've spent. It's a basic "defend the city" game, but what makes it different are the ridiculously silly dialog interludes between levels, and the absolutely adorable little ninjas you get to control. It's an easy game to pick up, but as you move through the levels, it definitely gets difficult enough to keep your attention. While I wouldn't suggest this for very young children, it's a great family game that both parents and kids can enjoy. This is a good game, it is challenging, and really makes you think. Though it does get a little repeditive after a while, it is still addictive, and fun. Ninja Town is adorable. There's no other word for it. You build defenses and stop the oncoming demons. The learning curve is fairly gentle and with special attacks like "Get off my lawn!" you can't help but be amused. That said, it is a strategy game, no special super combo moves and a slight bit of waiting for enemies to come to you. Easy to pick up and put down, all around great fun. I started playing this game with low expectation and almost no knowledge of what the game is about. I thought, well.. the ninjas are cute so even if the game does suck, at least it was an eye candy (for me). the first couple stages was just okay for me since it was the "learning" stages. however to my surprise, the game got more and more engaging as i went along. in the end, i was completely hooked and was determined to get an A in all stages (and I did, despite having to try multiple times on some of the stages like "NTSE plaza" and "Jagged Pathway"). overall, it's a fun laid back game with a hint of challenge. not to mention, the dialogue is just SO adorable!! LOVE THIS GAME!! A diverse group of fun-loving Ninjas populate the vibrant yet peaceful place known as Ninjatown. However, after the eruption of a nearby volcano, Ninjatown is attacked by hordes of sinister enemies lead by Mr. Demon, who, for reasons unknown, is bent on destruction. It is now time to use each of the Ninjas' unique skills and powers - including the Mighty Wind of Ninja Dropping and Stealth Hugs - to fight off the evil and secure Ninjatown, one district at a time. The game is played from the top down, where you use the stylus to strategically place Ninjas to defend each area.
Each building is upgradeable to keep your fighting Ninjas one step ahead of the forces of evil Build support buildings to bolster your Ninja skills and help them fight off the enemy Totally unique art style and gameplay Over 35 maps across 9 districts of Ninjatown to discover Use your ninja skills and powers to project Ninjatown! (Awesome game based on an awesome tv show)
(Great game)
(Talk about a nostalgic knock out.)
(Unexpected Favorite) I wasn't sure about this game when it was released until a friend convinced me to pick it up.
All of the games in this collection are completely original but don't let that turn you off, they are all homages to classic Nintendo and arcade games. After completing the challenges for each game, you can play them normally in freeplay mode.
The sequel is already released in Japan, I can't wait for it to come to the states!!! There are plenty of other reviews on here that go into detail about the games on here, so all I'll say it that I thoroughly enjoyed all the games on here. The rally king one takes a while to get used to and is somewhat difficult, but the rest of the games are really top notch.
I liked the challenges and liked the whole concept of the game, which makes more sense if you have seen the tv show Game Center CX that this is based on. Which is a great show and I hope they bring the dvds to america so more people can see what its about.
Even if you haven't seen the show, this is still a great game if you are a fan of old NES games, you won't regret it if you get it. I hope this game sells well enough for XSEED to bring the sequel over here too, which covers the 16 bit era as well as portable and other japanese systems. Overall, this is one of the most enjoyable games I have played recently, for any system. This is a great game. It is really great for people who grew up playing games in the late 80's and early 90's because it really takes you back to your childhood. At least it did for me anyway. But I wouldn't limit this game to just 20 somethings either. This game is fantastic no matter what your age. This game is great.
It's exactly what I was doing in the 80s. Reading game magazines, challenging friends with games, using cheat codes for the fun of it, and playing whatever game happened to be around (and especially new).
This game has succeeded, in my opinion. Congrats, game. This is one of those games that you've probably never heard of before, but its much better than you're expecting.
Its an excellent homage to classic games. The sub-games include the same look and feel as the their real-life counterparts. They have the same challenges, gameplay, and sometimes amusing spelling errors. There are also secrets and cheat codes if you get stuck (you can find these inside in-game magazines). You can tell a great deal of care was put into making these games feel very authentic.
Arino (the kid that watches you play) often makes comments about the gameplay such as "Dude!!" or "That was close" or "1-up, baby!" He expresses excitement, confusion, sadness, or realization which is surprisingly appropriate. He'll get really excited if you find a secret warp or if you do something amazing. He'll also get sad or frustrated if you do poorly. It adds a lot more to the game than I would have expected.
You should definitely try this game if - You played video games in the 1980s - You're a fan of classic or retro games - You just like good, simple, fun, and somewhat challenging games
This is an excellent game, and I'm eagerly awaiting a sequel. Thrown back in time to the 1980’s, you are turned into a young boy and forced to play video games by an evil self-proclaimed “Game Master”, Game Master Arino. Game Master Arino will test your gaming skills by throwing various challenges at you in a wide-variety of retro games including shooters, racing, action and even an epic role-playing game - your only way to return is to defeat him in every retro game challenge he throws at you. Ayoung Arino is at your side to keep you company during your challenges, quite amused at the fact that he grows up to be so evil in the future to be the cause of your current predicament. (Can be tedious)
(Great game for any age)
(fun and chalenging)
(Great fun&challenging too!) I loved playing this game as a PC game and as a Nintendo DS game! The levels become increasingly challenging throughout the game; they don't start to get really "rough" until around the 40th level or so. I found this game to be a great way to pass time by! I don't regret spending not a penny on this game; I love Burger Island and I can't wait for the sequel to be released (hint hint destineer)!
A note of caution: remember that the game screen on the DS is much smaller than that of a PC. If you've played this game before, you'll know that you're introduced to more ingredients the higher level you move up in the game. And let's just say there's not a lot of space between them LOL!
But if you're a TRUE fan of Burger Island and time management games, you'll definitely enjoy this game!! Worth the buy! This game was lots of fun in the beginning but as you progress you can create more complicated burgers, fries&shakes. I found that the ingredients were small and very close together. I would tap the ketchup&end up ruining the burger because the bacon got selected instead.
And as another reviewer mentioned the items don't always register when you tap them which again can cause you to ruin the order. I found it to be a big problem and the game being highly frustrating.
You may not find it to be an issue (the other reviewer didn't) but I wouldn't recommend this game for a kid.
Update: May 31st
I finally beat the game. I actually removed my screen protector because it looked worn and it helped a lot. I was able to beat the game again a few days later. It still selected the wrong item on occasion, but not nearly as much. Overall fun - the burger levels are my favorite. I love action adventure games! This game place exactly like the computer version (except that you touch the items on the screen instead of using your mouse!). One great bonus is that you can save three games at once so you and your friends can play at the same time. Another great bonus is that there are three levels of play; kiddie size, regular size, and jumbo size. I can only hope now that they develop a version for the Wii. this game was fun and chalenging its just like the game on aol games but even better on the DS. the end levels are very hard to beat it takes time and speed and remembering the orders and completing it fast. overall i would say purchase the game its fun. My daughter (almost 11) really likes this game. You have to make burgers, fries, milk shakes&other recipes for people before they leave the restaurant. Kind of like Diner Dash. She likes making the milk shakes. As Patty Melton, the new owner of the tropical island-based Beach Burger restaurant, you must grill burgers, cook fries, and blend milshakes all to order to earn money to spread your franchise all the way to the capital city of Honochuchu. (Perfect holder) It works extremely well and you can read the game names from the outside and the game contacts are protected. I recommend it very highly. This neat little game holder is much more user friendly than the huge DVD sized holders that they come in when you purchase them. It slips right into the bottom of the Nintendo Game Carrier too! Another great Amazon bargain! There is no question about the success of the Nintendo DS and what it has brought to the table. Nevertheless, there are so many people who want a simple and convient way of storing their favorite DS titles. That is also shown even more with the Nintendo DSi. Fortunately, there is a simple way of storing your favorite titles. this Nintendo DS Game Card Case is a simple and compact way of carrying 6 of your favorite Nintendo DS games like Brain Age 2, or recent titles like Personal Trainer: Cooking. You get to help clients with their makeup and learn techniques and looks along the way! Also, you get to do fun activities and get rewarded in gems for each working task you complete. You even get to flirt with boys!! If you are a girly girl like I am, this game is definitely for you!!! When fashion shows take over cities like New York, Paris, and Milan, makeup crews actively compete to help style models for the coutre designers. There's an interesting dichotomy between person and persona. Makeup helps define the persona and acts as a side of the bridge that leads to the person. It is an important part of the social matrix that defines you to the world around you, and those others to you. (Great carrying case for it's price!)
(it fits and protects trhats about all)
(Perfect for a compact case)
(Good protection for the price) This case is perfect for my needs. It's a soft case that holds my DSi, Stylus and 3 DS cartridges. The case has some shape to it, meaning it's not just a cloth bag. The material is probably around a 1/4 inch thick and when you press down on it, it stays compressed for a few minutes. It has a soft feel to it on the outside and the inside is a plush texture. The 2 zipper pulls are large enough to get a grip on and the zipper is the kind that won't usually skip off of the teeth. The pulls on the zipper are a tough fabric, kind of like cordura. This may not be the perfect bag for everyone, such as if you need a hard case or want to be able to carry more cartridges with you or something like that, but it works great for me. Been shopping a while for a great case for my new DSi that I recieved as a gift. Took a chance with this case, seeing how I went to every known retail store like Best buy, gamestop, target, for Dsi accessories so that I can see how they fit in person. Let me tell you that there just isn't much selections out there. I found nothing I liked or even tolerated in any of the retail stores. So I ordered this from amazon and I'm glad that I took the chance. The outside of the case is lined with a spongey material that make it soft and gentle on the Dsi that it is protecting and absorbs any dropage that may occur. It's a very comfortable fit with just a bit of extra room on the inside in case you have an extra long styles that you want to stash. Hold 3 games and even an extra normal pen. If you want a case that is the perfect fit, practical, functions exactly how it's supposed to, that doesn't look cheaply made like all the other after market brands (ie. Madcat), there is no where else you should look. For $10, this is the perfect case for your DSi. you can get your ds or dsi in this case and a few games. nothing else and nothing more. I already had a case i could get my system and power cord and a few games in . i thoughtthis was the same one just with memory foam. but its an ok case if you only want the system protected. This case fits my Dsi perfectly, and as advertised fits 3 additional games and another stylus. There is plenty of padding keeping it safe in my carry-on or pack. The material feels great on the outside. This is a way better compact case then the ones I was seeing at Target, and this one's price is a lot less too.
If you are looking for a small case to just hold the DS and a couple games this really is the perfect case. This is a good investment for storing and carrying your DSi around. If you're a minimalist like me then, I highly recommended it.The construction is pretty solid for the price and the padding is more than adequate to protect your DSi from accidental falls and rough handling (just don't sit on it and expect your DSi to be fine though). It even has enough space to fit the DSi with the Hori clear case and stylus in it. Don't expect to have room for the charger though or be able to hang it on your belt/strap other than that it's a good bargain for the price so do yourself a favor and don't buy crap ware bundles with accessories that you most likely will never use. customer 's review (Video game sleeper hit...)
(Skeptical at first...)
(Good Gift for All Ages)
(Awesome!)
(this game is rad!!!) I bought this game with hesitations, but to my suprise, it's my favorite game so far. It's quite addictive and the music is overall pretty good. Some of the title songs are not sung by the original artist, but that doesn't affect game play at all. It's harder than it seems at first and I've really struggled with a few stages, but it's so much fun, I've even gone back and replayed some stages that I really enjoyed. The comic book style story telling on the top screen can be a bit distracting, but once you've finished with the stage, you can "replay" it and then really watch the story line. Some of them are cheesy, but all of them are entertaining and one is even a bit of a tear-jerker. All in all, you should give this game a try if you enjoy rhythm based games. I bought this game based on its glowing reviews but didn't play it until I had beaten a bunch of other games. I finally put it in on a whim and did the little intro. Then I played the first two songs and was wondering what all the fuss was about. It's kind of like DDR for the DS or Parappa the Rappa (does anyone remember this game for PS1??) only you tap instead of dance or hit buttons. As I continued on, I got better at the timing and before I noticed it, I was hooked! This game didn't come out of my DS for over a month; until I beat all four levels. I like that you can skip a bunch of the "junk" (although some people probably found it entertaining). You can select a song and get right to the tapping. :) You can't skip the happy ending if you pass the song but you can skip the bad ending and try again. I played this game for hours and didn't even notice how time was flying! There are bonus levels to unlock and you go up in rank as you accumulate points. I found myself going back to try to improve my grade on the songs. There is a wide variety of music in this game from Madonna to Village People to Good Charlotte. Some of the last songs of the levels are somewhat difficult and took many many trials to beat them but I never got frustrated with this game. I highly recommend this game. Perfect for those long plane rides (best to use headphones though!) because you'll be landing before you know it! Elite Beat Agents is a really enjoyable game and perfect for anyone who likes video games that deal with music (such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc).
The jist of the game is this: A song starts playing on the bottom of the DS screen. Numbered bubbles start popping up. You hit the numbered bubble on the 'beat' and score points. There's more to it, but it really is almost that simple. When you complete all 15 rounds, you move up to the next 'level' and play the songs over again, only this time there more difficult. There are a total of 3 levels you can go through, making this game fun for a long time.
Elite Beat Agents has many popular songs to play along to, including things from these artist: Queen, Avril, The Village People, Madonna, Hoobastank, the Rolling Stones, and many more. Songs are timed well enough for you to play this during a short train ride or a long one. With the DS, you can easily carry this game around with you to have for any moments of 'downtime' you find during the day. I, personally, brought this game to the laundry mat with me to keep me occupied while waiting for my wash!
This game says 10 and up, but I think you could go a little young, depending on how good the recipient (or yourself) are good at playing rhythm games like this. A good stocking stuffer or addition for the kid who is just getting his DS. Enjoy the game! this game was really cool. it really is worth it at such low price...
after your done tho, you prolly wont want to play again xcept on wifi, which is awesome because your friend(s) dont need the game to play, and up to four can go with just one card! so it is a very good multiplayer game! i love this game! the songs aren't originals, and that's the only bad part. when i hear sk8tr boi, i want to hear avril. simple as that. but it is a lot of fun. i took it on vacation and my sister became addicted to it. i was lucky to get it back. now i'm just waiting for eba2! Elite Beat Agents are a super-secret agency made up of the coolest group of guys this world has ever known. Of course, according to official records, they do not exist. Their leader, an ex-CIA agent named Commander Kahn, scans the world, seeking out cries for help. When he finds one, he dispatches the agents, who assist their targets by performing a song and dance. The hypnotic nature of their rocking revives the targets with "Groovy" energy that boosts their willpower and helps them overcome their obstacles. Whether they're helping a lost dog find its way home or helping a babysitter charm a hunky football player, no crisis is too weird. Rerations < Elite Beat Agents >

customer 's review (Back Yard Hockey)
(My son loves it!)
(backyard hockey) My son, 6, loves the game. His age was not an issue understanding the game and most of it's options. He has a great time with it. We were late getting into the Nintendo DS thing. I personally dislike video games. My son is a hockey player and when he found out there was such a game, he had to have it. Especially because it has a Martin Brodeur player. He loves this game. They first few hours he had it, he had already made it to the Stanley Cup. It would entertain him for days on end if I would let him, but I keep it to an hour maximum. He would rate it a AAA+ I purchased this product as a gift for my grandson. If he isn't playing it his little sister is. They both love it and it will bring countless hours of fun for both of them. The product was received in excellent condition and in a timely matter. I would order from this company anytime. Both the product and the seller receive excellent reviews. (Better then Rosetta !!!!)
(Good guide for inexperienced Chinese speakers)
(Learner)
(Fun, educational game!) I have been studying Chinese for five years and am constantly looking for tools to help me with my studies. Based on the screen shots, I thought that this product would be perfect, however, as I started working through the lessons, I found that, in at least one instance, the tones were wrong, and the character writing games often had incorrect stroke orders and in some cases even the number of strokes was wrong! Unfortunately for me, this ruins the credibility of the software and makes it all but unusable as I don't know what is right and what is wrong. That is why I gave it just one star. I've had 2 years of high school french. taken 2 semesters of Jr college japanese. Tried listening to CD's from the library for spanish. And used the VERY expensive "Rosetta Stone" program in the college's language library... THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST and MOST COST EFECTIVE, way ever to learn a language. Ilove this cartridge, I went out and bought the spanish coach and French coach and Japanese coach , Don't stop at just one cart , get the whole series while you can. Educational games for video systems are usually semi hard to find and this one you will keep and use YEARS after the DS goes the way of the gameboy and atari 2600. Just playing a few minutes a day a few days a week and I had a fun moment when I saw on tv a person speaking a few words and it was ,,,hey I know what he said ... very cool . This "game" is a fairly productive guide to refreshing your Chinese language skills. As a relatively light speaker of the language I found the record and playback with the "teacher" functionality fairly useful.
Pronunciation was more of a focus for me since I am at the stage where I would like to increase my vocabulary while pronouncing certain characters correctly.
I highly recommend this game for other users who simply want a guide into the Chinese language and not a end all to all Kanji translations.
This game is a great tool for learning Chinese. The only problem that I have found is that there is no search method on the game for using the dictionary in an effective manner, you have to systematically search the entire database to find what you are looking for instead of being able to type a word or write a character and get a definition.
I took Mandarin Chinese in school and this is a great tool to jog my memory of the language since I don't use it on a regular basis. Those who get this game to learn conversational Chinese might be a tad disappointed because even though the game teaches phrases and sentences, it is weak in letting you practice hearing spoken Chinese, which is one of the challenges for the beginner. However, it teaches crucial things like recognizing tonality and writing. If you're not interested in learning to write Chinese words, this game might be a little annoying.
Overall, a very good learning tool along with Chinese classes. It's also a lot of fun to gradually unlock lessons and new games to improve your mastery of Chinese! Brush up or start from scratch on the Chinese language with My Chinese Coach. Learn Chinese using carefully structured lessons that guide you through vocabulary and calligraphy exercises. Learn the basic pronunciations unique to the Mandarin language. Use the Nintendo DS stylus to properly write Chinese Kanji Characters. Play through a series of fun and informative mini-games that reinforces the lesson content.
