HOWEVER, there are several parts of the game that cannot be played with the available controls on the DS. The log flume ride cannot be controlled, nor can the boat ride - no matter what you do - it's not controllable. It tells you to use an option that is NOT on the Nintendo DS. There are many other parts of the game that are the same way on this DS system. It's so frustrating when you can't play ALL of the games in each level. It will tell you to use a certain function to play a particular level of the game - but it does not exist on the DS - which the GAME IS DESIGNED FOR. My grandson became very confused by this game and upset that he could not play with all parts of it - many of the areas we cannot play are the hight point levels in the game. I was just as frustrated. I would give it the highest marks if not for these drawbacks. The graphics are great but the game is not what we expected.』
(My son loves this game.) 『My son loves Goosebumps and has enjoyed playing this game. He is advancing through the game and likes to play it.』
(This game is good and okay) 『This video game is good and I like it and it has some interesting levels in it so indeed it is good and it was a great buy for me I would think.』
(Alot of fun) 『Great for all ages. I purchased this game for my 7yr. old, there are plenty of carnival type events that are challenging on basically 3 levels rewarded as either bronze, silver, or gold medals called "Horrors". Points are based on such horrors, bronze being being the least to gold being the most point value. The more horror points you gather the more events you'll be able to play. There's alot to the game which keeps it interesting, it's not something you or your child will pass in a week then be done with and toss to side. Perfect for a lazy day or long car ride. I tried this game myself and liked it alot, I found the controls to be rather simple, and the graphics pretty good, the horrors or monsters in the game are actually pretty scary looking which is cool. Easy enough for young players and yet still challenging enough for the young at heart, I have to rate this as a five star overall, and would recommend this game to friends and family especially those with a child(ren) they want to keep occupied for any length of time.』
(Slow start.) 『I bought this for my 9yo son. He thought it was really hard at first but now seems to be addicted. He plays it quite a bit and is having fun with it even though it is sometimes harder than he'd prefer.』 『Goosebumps Horrorland games are based on the popular Goosebumps books sold worldwide as well as the hit series on Fox Kids Network.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A must have!) 『This is a really fun game! It's a side scrolling game that use's no stylus (except in some of the mini games). I bought this game because it was said to be like the Mario games and there was no stylus involved except in certain area's and well it's true. When I first started playing, I thought the game was a bit too easy but as you progress, like any game, it gets harder. It actually started to get really tough when I started level 3.2. The only downfall of this game that I don't like is, that you have no wheapons or anything, the only way to kill something is to jump on it, which makes it hard if an enemy is coming straight at you or flying above you. But overall, this is a great game and one to definitely check out and buy.』
(Nintendo DS Garfield's Nightmare) 『This is a terrific game! The graphics are fantastic.....Garfield looks exactly as he does in the comics and the scenery is cute too (the stained glass windows in the castle have pooky on them :) ) The game play does not involve the stylus.....it is just jumping and kicking and pushing objects, like a Mario game. There are clues along the way to help you through each level to the checkpoints. I haven't found this to be a challenging (to the the point of frustration) game.....although I HAVE died a number of times. IF you are killed, you just go back to the last checkpoint in the game. I researched this game before buying it and found that it was given MANY great reviews.....and it doesn't disappoint. I paid about $11.50 for it here on Amazon and I think it was worth every penny. If your kids (or you) like Garfield....get this game :)』
(Mario-like Play; Lots of Fun!) 『Loved this game! I like simple action-adventure, "Mario-like" games and puzzles. There is nothing new in this game, but it was fun to play. Graphics are good. Music is not annoying. Levels get progressively more challenging. Plus, it's Garfield! Who doesn't love Garfield?
I also played "Garfield's Fun Fest" and found Nightmare to be much more entertaining. If you are trying to decide between the two, go with Nightmare.』
(Most Adorable, Fun, Game Yet!! For a 5 year old and non-gamer mom!) 『I have bought almost 30 games, since last Christmas. Most of our games...we get bored with after a while, turn around to sell them used on Ebay. However, this game is a keeper. My 5 year old and myself, cannot get enough of this game. It's so adorable and the 3-D is awesome. The graphics are so creative and neat to look at. As a non-gamer mom, I was able to pass all levels of this game (after some practice), however my child, who is 5, has a hard time getting past some of the games in the advance levels (the cloud-land and snow-land). There are no directions that have to be read, the game is pretty much self explanitory and the directions are within the game. Also, for those of you not familiar with this game, the style of the game is like Mario Brothers and Princess Peach (kind of, sort of), but easier. If you have a child 5-10, for sure buy this game for them. Each land has 5 levels. There are 4 sections/lands. Fist, Garfield goes through the scary Castle to fight off ghost and spiders, bats and more. There are secret passages through the entire game too. Each level has a secret door and a secret life. For example, level 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 all have the secret door, where you can earn more lives. Plus, there is always a secret area, where you can find a Garfield token, that will earn a new life too. You need to explore all jumps and doorways to find them. After you pass all 5 levels, you will then continue to lavaland (again, another 5 levels), then off to cloudland, finally to snow (winterland). You'll want to collect as many donuts as possible, since 100 of them, will earn Garfield a new life. Also, eating the pizza will prolong Garfield's life. Coins will get you into the secret door, so make sure you grab them all. So much fun!!』
(A good one to buy) 『This is an old school type of game that keeps my kids attention even if it is 2D. It reminded me of the ones I used to play growing up but with many more levels and challenges. Garfield runs and jumps his way through the spooky landscape, eating along the way. There are 4 different worlds to roam through and find the 4 pieces of alarm clock that will wake Garfield up from this nightmare world. It is easy enough to figure out and doesn't grow old quick.』 『Garfield's Nightmare is a 2.5D side-scroller that features platforming gameplay with gorgeous graphics. See your favorite fat feline, Garfield; trapped in lasagna, pizza and donut induced nightmares. A severe case of over-indulgence before bed leads to a dream so bad he can't wake up without piecing together his smashed alarm clock to free him from his fretful slumber. The goal for each level is to travel from one side of the game world to the other. In-between this, you'll need to collect various items and kill bad guys that generally pose little threat to your progression. Enemies and crazy challenges litter your path so think fast and play smart to save the day and night for Garfield. Help Garfield maintain his energy level by collecting lots of tasty food throughout the game including donuts, and of course, lasagna』

However, feeding the baby can be hard at times as the game doesn't read the stylus movements very well. I don't even mess with playing the instruments; they're so hard to work. Overall, you can wash dishes, feed the baby, rock the baby, dress them up, mow the lawn, vacumm the attic, change diapers, and order things "online". I should warn you though. I wish I could play the game, but I guess it is broken. We have one child that will NOT go home. We left the game on for 8 hours straight! Plus, she was the fussiest baby, Ella. Apparently her parents didn't want her. Also, the things we ordered "online" stopped coming. Wow, nice game! People really go for the games that don't change for 8 hours! Buy at your own risk.』
(Amazingly Fun) 『I have this game and the Imagine Fashion Designer game, though Imagine Babyz is the most fun Imagine game I've played. It took me 4 weeks to complete and if you like taking care of virtual babies, you'll like this game.』
(very hard game) 『My 5 yr grand daughter played this game with the help of older girls and wanted the game but since Christmas has played very little. Very realistic and hard for young children.』
(Not impressed with Imagine: Babyz!) 『Hi I'm autistic adult gamer...
Personally I think they could of done better with the game and graphic's on Imagine: Babyz. This game is not worth the 30 dollars I paid for it new unfortunately I could not find this game used heaven's know I which it was used. It's frustrating but eventually you figure it out. This game is not really worth it though if anything it's creepy I mean a babysitter who just stay's in the house all day with a stork on the chimney yeah a just a little creepy.
Save your self the money and just get Imagine: Babysitter's the graphic's and gameplay are way more better than this one.』
(Imagine Babyz) 『I've never seen this item. Had it shipped to my granddaughter. She loves it. If she is happy, then I'm happy.』 『The first ever SIM game focused on babies, Imagine Babyz speaks to the caring nurturer in you! It points out important tools you need to be a good sitter while giving you tons of ways to make errands and housework fun—whether you're dressing the kids up to go shopping, buying baby food, vacuuming their rooms, painting the walls pink or mowing the lawn. And the work pays off when you get to spend your hard-earned money on decorating your house! Ooh-la-la!』

The story is getting stupid, you play as a boaring character no one cares about, the animation sucks and after playing for about ten mins. I didn't care anymore for this game back to RB for you. (GOOD GAME) 『WELL I AM A CASTLEVANIA FAN FROM WAY BACK..HAVE'NT HAD MY DS FOR VERY LONG SO JUST NOW ABLE TO PLAY THE CASTLEVANIA GAME... ITS GREAT AND KINDA HARD ESPECIALY ON THE DS GAME SYSTEM ..IS MORE DIFFICULT , NOT LIKE USING THE CONTROLLERS ON PLAY STATION ' HA... GOT THRU A COUPLE LEVELS SO FAR AND AM KINDA STUCK ON THE BIG CRAB BOSS.. YOU GET HIT BY IT OR BUBBLES IT RELEASES AND IT TAKES ALOT OF LIFE.... IT IS ODD PLAYING AS A WOMAN AND WITH SWORDS NOT A WHIP LIKE THE ORIGINAL..I LIKE THE GAME IF YOUR A CASTLEVANIA FAN YOU'LL LIKE IT TOOO.. I LIKE ADVENTURE GAMES ANYWAY..PLAYED ON ALIEN GAME SOME YEARS BACK AFTER THE MOVIE CAME OUT AND HAVE'NT BEEN ABLE TO FIND IT SINCE...IT TOO IS A GAME THAT TAKES YOU FROM ONE LEVEL TO ANOTHER NOT HAVING TO FIND YOUR WAY GOING IN CIRCLES.. WELL ANYWAY I FEEL I GOT MY MONIES WORTH WITH THIS ONE...ALTHO I DONT KNOW YET JUST HOW LONG THE GAME REALLY IS......I GIVE THIS GAME A THUMBS UP AND RECOMMEND IT...』
(Great 4-star title!) 『Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is probably the very BEST Castlevania to date, and that's saying something.
The gameplay mechanics are redefined here, and differ from past games. There's new systems at work here, like Glyphs for example.
The glyphs act as your weapons and magic. Let me explain - Some enemies you fight will leave behind a blue, or red, shiny crest looking thing in the air, or on the ground. At that time, you simply hold up on the D-Pad to suck it into your body. THus gaining the power it had, which could be an upgraded Sword? or maybe a Thunder spell?
The enemies in the game are tough right from the start, as they should be. With this said, you'll likely die quite a few times throughout the game, especially on the bosses, which are extremely well done.
The game itself is long, probably about 40 hours for your first playthrough, depending of course. Then there's new game modes, like a +Game, same as regular only harder! there's also another character you can play as.
Aside from those modes, there's modes like Practice Mode, where you basically run courses trying to get a good time, etc. There's Boss Rush Mode, you have to beat bosses in good time, and health.
This Castlevania even has Wifi options so you can set up your own item shop online for other players to buy from you, and vice versa.
But anyways, this game is great for any castlevania fan that likes a LOT of content and a lot of challenge. Pick it up today.』 『Following the success of Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, the legendary Castlevania series is back on the Nintendo DS. This time you play as a member of the Ecclesia, an organization that has sworn to defeat the evil forces of Dracula. Use the brand new Glyph attack system which has more than 100 different combinations to battle Dracula and his minions throughout 20 explorable areas. Take part in side quests and collect items to power up your character in the next great Castlevania game produced by Koji Igarashi.』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Super Sad!) 『I am super sad over this game. I played the original and absolutely loved it. I couldn't wait for the release date on this one.
Everything seems very small and as the levels prgress and get harder, it gets increasingly frustrating to fulfill the tasks because everything is hard to see. It almost turns into a guessing game as to where to click to fulfill the tasks (mind you I do not have eyesight issues).
My next complaint is the graphics are poor. I would have expected better, bolder graphics given it is the second version and made for the DS. As a matter of fact, I think the graphics are worse than the first. The graphics are like an old Nintendo game, maybe even worse.
All said and done, I would not have wasted my money on it if I would have tried it first. Where usually I would be consumed by this kind of game over everything else in my life, I will probably just finish it out on blizzard and terrential rain days:(』
(I thought it was very fun!!) 『Granted I never played the old version (other then the free computer trials).. but I definitely thought this was very entertaining! If you liked this game.. I recommend Hells Kitchen.. very similuar but you can actually prep the food!』
(Should have called it Flo WHERE'D You Go...) 『Take a good look at the screen shots before you buy. Did you notice that, unlike the first Diner Dash for the DS, you can now see the dining room AND the line of waiting customers without having to scroll over? Some people will be glad about this, but I am not one of them. First, I didn't mind having to do that with the first one, and second they had to make everything much smaller in order to fit it all on the screen. I'm not exactly old and I have good eyesight. I find this new perspective off-putting. Flo is so small I sometimes lose her. It is hard to see the colors in the chairs to match customers. When chaining, particularly when cleaning tables, it is hard to see the check marks that let me know that I have put that table in Flo's "to do" list. I will think that I have done it only to find a dirty table when I try to drag customers to it. The upgrades are unsatisfying. Every few levels you can pick an upgrade or you unlock some new clothing. I could care less about dressing Flo. You can't even tell what she's wearing on game screen because she's too small. And the upgrades to the restaurant are just choosing between a new counter, OR new tables, OR wall decorations, etc. I am emphasizing the "OR" because you don't get to choose between counters styles, or tables styles like usual. You can choose one or the other. And you will eventually get all of them anyway as far as I can tell so there's not much incentive there. Overall the game is more forgiving, at least in the first 15 levels or so, because you can lose tables and still score way beyond expert score. I hate to lose tables, but the alternative is to give up chaining, and ultimately chaining is worth more than a couple of tables. I hate to admit it, but I am disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I am not sorry I bought it. I will play it until I have an expert score on every level (which at this point does not seem like it's going to be very hard) but I don't know how quick I will be to play it again. This may not sound like a big deal but given that I have happily played the first one through 10 times over it makes me kind of sad.』
(Worth the $30) 『I was a huge fan of Diner Dash and was counting the days until The Flo on The Go release. It is basically a continuation of Diner Dash, but this time Flo is on the move to different locations like a cruise ship, train etc. Some new customers are introduced such as "the lovebirds" who can only be seated at 2 chair tables. The crying babies seem to have gotten worse, and other customers don't have as much tolerance for them as they did in Diner Dash. I just got the game yesterday and I'm only on level 18(there are 50 levels in story mode) but so far I have not been disappointed with this purchase at all. If you liked Diner Dash you will definitely like Flo On The Go.』 『After building a dining empire from scratch and saving five restaurants from the wrecking ball, Flo trades in her apron for a passport to paradise! But will our hard-working waitress get a chance to relax? Join Flo and her sidekick Darla as they embark on the vacation of their dreams. But when Flo’s suitcase suddenly spills into the water, she must rely on her table-serving talents to get her vacation (and her lost wardrobe) back on track. Step into Flo’s Closet to dress Flo—one skirt, shirt, and shoe at a time. Seat customers, take orders, and satisfy nine types of customers to helpFlo improve five all-new restaurants in the rarest of locations. New thrills, spills, and a surprise restaurant await you in the next episode of the original smash blockbuster! The hit online game is now on Nintendo DS!』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Nothing stands out) 『I did not finish this game, I gave it about 15 hours before I just could not stand it anymore.
Two things make or break a game for me, the controls and the story. The story for this game was incredibly inane, I did not care about the characters or the plot. I finally gave up even trying to follow it about 5 hours in and started skipping all the talking. Some of the talking scenes take longer than the battles. I cannot stress enough how this really turned me off to this game.
The battles themselves were okey, but unoriginal and uninspiring. Move one of your three groups, attack, let the computer do the same, rinse and repeat. I did not hate the combat system, but I can not say I liked it. I was annoyed that demons and characters may only arm three 'use' abilities each, this greatly restricted gameplay for me.
The one part that I did like was the fusing of demons, but this was a small part and got old quickly as well. The fusing could not carry the game by itself.
I was certainly not impressed and cannot in good conscience suggest this game to any of my friends.』
(A fantastic RPG for your Nintendo DS) 『I bought this game along with "The World Ends with You." TWEWY is a fine game, but I really didn't like the touch interface terribly much. Since the game relies exlusively on how you touch the screen, enemy battles can be drawn out since the DS cannot differ between similar strokes on the screen. Since "Devil Survivor" doesn't use the touch interface, all commands are entered through the buttons. This naturally enables the player to not make any mistakes with what type of command you want to execute, unlike TWEWY.
I played that game for a while, then set it aside. Next, I fired up "Devil Survivor,' and I haven't put the game down since! This game is great because it has an incredibly refined, and dynamic, battle system. While you are battling enemy demons, the key to victory is exploiting their elemental weaknesses. Whenever you exploit the weakness of your enemy, you will get an extra turn to deal out more damage. Watch out, though, because the enemy will do the same to your demons. Another fun aspect about this game is the "monster breeder" aspects to demon fusion. You acquire demons by the in-game online auction. Once you have enough demons in your arsenal, you can combine them for more powerful demons. In fact, this is the way that some of the most powerful demons can be accessed in this game. So "mixing and matching" can yield some unexpected, and exciting, results. I somehow created King Frost, a unique demon with advanced stats, and I don't even know how! Sometimes, though, you just need to grind away to level-up. You earn experience points in battles, but the great thing is you can leave optional battles if you realize you don't have the right equipped demons.
Of course, no game is without any annoyances. Sometimes the battles can swing heavily in the enemy's favor even before you have the chance to issue a command to your party. My biggest complaint against this game is that the female lead, Yuzu, is typically girly. She really doesn't like computer technology because "it is above her understanding." She is also whines excessively about the situation at hand. Yuzu doesn't exactly represent teen-aged girls very well.
Other than that, this game is a real gem. I highly recommend it. 4.5/5 stars

(Good Game) 『I haven't owned many NDS games. This one is one of the best kinda strategy games ever played on NDS. It takes time leveling but the battle is fun. The diverse story line is interesting. I'm not the gamer who love to fight over and over again but if you like it, it's a perfect game for you.』
(Another solid SRPG for the DS) 『Short, quick strategy battles keep the game interesting for people not heavy into strategy games. The story and dialogue leave a little to be desired, but it does a good job of making you feel that your decisions may be important, as role playing games go. Overall, a very well made game and good for short bouts of playing and interesting enough to keep my attention for a long gaming session, if I were so inclined.』

This game could of been perfect had the makers included some kind of magnifying tool to use on searching for small things, like bugs, keys, etc.
While playing I find the things I can see and for the little stuff, I use my own magnifying glass for the small things. Would of been very helpful if the game actually had one built in. How hard could that of been?
All in all it's a fun and entertaing game. Just some things are hard to see.
This game is very similar to The Forgotten Ruins.』
(May Be More Fun For Adults Than Kids) 『It has been several months since I received this game. I held off writing my review because I wanted to be sure each of my children tried the game after I finished it. You see, I rather enjoyed the game myself. It's an addictive, yet somewhat repetitive seek and find game where you, the main character, are a detective in search of an art thief. There are many objects, treasures and keys to be found, and you get to play a handful of typical memory/tile games. Overall I found it quite interesting and fun but my children don't agree with me at all. I have a boy (age 9) and two girls (ages 12 and 15), which have all taken their turn playing this game. My son completed the game in about two to three days, while both of the girls simply lost interest within the first couple of days. All of my kids said it just didn't have enough "action" to hold their interest. My son said "It's boring to be a detective looking for an art thief." He concluded, "It would be better if you were looking for a killer or a car thief or something."
I think this game is worth playing and I'm sure some people will love it, while others just will not care much for it. It's a great brain exercising game but I think many adults may like it more than kids actually do. I can't speak for other parents out there but from my perspective this game is just not exciting or unique enough for my children. If your children like mystery and puzzle games then they may very well enjoy this. If they prefer battle, adventure or arcade style games then this may be a flop for them. I am giving it 3 stars overall. 3 stars for creativity, 3 stars for fun but only 2 stars for the level of challenge.』
(Seek&Find) 『Wasn't sure I would enjoy this because it was a bit different from MCF: MillionHeir, but it is good. I still go back and play it, the unlimited games since I have finished the puzzle portion. If you like Seek&Find this is enjoyable.』
(Easily solved tho fun) 『this was a disappointment. it was over way too quickly. i enjoy these types of games very much. this one is fun but in 3 days i had it solved. thats way too quick. my only consolation is that i didnt pay full price for it. it also taught me a lesson....not to purchase this type of game again. it just cannot sustain my interest as long as id like. i did like that is used words i had to google (moai, dromedary, etc) and described some things in a way that made me think (Split for Soup=a pea pod). they should limit the hint button usage...that woulda helped a bit.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Lots of stuff, but is it all practical?) 『Great price with options so the need to purchase one or two additional accessories should not be necessary. * 4 Screen Protectors are actually two for each screen. These are a must to keep screen in good condition. * 3 Styluses&3 Fingertip Styluses. Extra styluses are always good since kids are prone to loosing small items like this. Fingertip versus pen styluses? User will favor one over the other. * 1 Pair Headphones, An Audio Splitter. Splitter is only good when using a second set of ear buds for two player games. * Car Adapter, Docking Station, Cleaning Cloth&Wrist Strap. Docking station is a glorifies charger which already comes with the DSI. Like the Wii controllers, wrist strap will prevent accidental drops and breakage. Car adapter is a must for travelers. * Protective Travel Case&4 Game Cases. Travel case is too small to hold the DSI with all four game cases and ear buds. It is okay for the DSI, ear buds, and maybe two game cases. 』
(decent accessory pack) 『This was a fine accessory pack. Some parts are very useful, others are inessential, and the quality is passable.』
(Decent quality, but incompatible with Silicone Skin protectors.) 『This kit is a good value for what you get. Even if you don't use everything, you'll use enough of it to justify the price. The docking station is convenient, though if you want to use that and have an AC adapter with your device when you are on the go, you may want to buy a second adapter.
The headphones are pretty decent for use with the DS and the styluses are obviously useful. The case is a tight fit and is fairly hard (it's not a soft pliable case).
One important thing I would point out is that if you use one of those silicone slip case protectors on your DS to protect it, you will not be able to use the docking station. The fit is just enough for the unencumbered DS to fit. Removing and replacing the silicone cover every time you dock it is clearly not an option, either. So before you buy this -- know that if you already are a user of the silicone covers, you'll have to give those up or dismiss the docking station element of this package.』
(Slick - but some fillers) 『The case fits the DSi snugly. The charge base station (you hook the the OEM charger into it) is attractive, and in my opinion is the best looking item of the whole kit, and the car charger is great too! The extra styli are nice, the screen protector are good but the touch screen protector seems a little weird - it has a white outer adhesive which looks odd on a black DSi, all of the other protectors apply without being noticeable after application. Everything else seems to be a filler, the stereo jack splitter I have little need for, and those ODD finger styli seem to be pointless (for a game system anyway). The screen cleaning cloth could have been a little better, but your T-shirt works just as well. Finally the three game cases seem to be the most pointless inclusion, espically when the case is not big enough to hold them and the DSI.
I guess in conclusion, the Case and the extra styli out weigh the fillers. I would recomend this kit if you are looking for a good case, and some good inclusions and all else is fillers.』
(interesting gadgets) 『If you travel a lot, the hard case feels very trustworthy. I like the headphones, the extra styluses, and it's nice to have the option of putting a game in a smaller plastic case to bring with you. Although it's likely you won't actually use most of the stuff in the kit.』 『Designed for the new DSi. The ICON 22-In-1 Deluxe Starter Kit includes four game cases to protect your game cartridges from dust and scratches, a pair of headphones to enjoy high-quality sounds, an audio splitter so you and your best friend can listen to music together, a car adapter to give you the power you need when you are on the road, a docking station to display and charge your DSi in fashion, four screen protectors to protect both of your DSi screens, a camera lens screen protector to protect your DSi camera lens, a soft protective travel case to protect your DSi, a wrist strap to carry your DSi anywhere, three replacement styluses and three finger-tip styluses to easily manage your DSi's communication features. Plus, a cleaning cloth to ensure visual clarity when gaming.』

The wonderful thing about the product is his attention span with My Virtual Tutor is much greater than paper-based books. Now, he actually enjoys reading! If your kids dislike reading books, this is a great way to get them reading in a fun and interactive way.』
(Good but easy) 『My daughter who just turned 7 said, "It's very fun and it's easy." I say they should make it more challenging.』
(Grand daughter loves it!) 『My granddaughter, age 6.5, really likes this game. She is a master of math blaster DVD game and has been playing Mario Bros on the Nintendo for the past year. She started playing this game about 1 month ago and it has replaced Mario. She loves to read aloud and hear herself read with the record function. She has been able to navigate the game all by herself. Honestly, I feel less guilty about video game playing not that this game is a favorite. She mostly plays in the car. I am thinking of buying the Pre-K level for my grandson.』
(Not all that impressed:() 『I was so excited to get this game, but it fell short of my expectations. It does not work on the skills of a beginning reader. I was hoping it would work on sight words and helping my child sound out words, but it has an expectation that you already know how to read. It has very few games and once they complete them, they are done. My son has almost conquered the entire game and he just got the game yesterday. I would not recommend this to anyone. I feel like I wasted my money.』 『How do you make learning to read fun, affordable and portable? Grab you Nintendo DS and get ready for a Reading Adventure! Gameplay
My Virtual Tutor: Readinggreets your child first with a fun story in Read to Me mode, where the story is read by the tutor, accompanied by fun sounds and animations. Once the story is read, your child then accesses the story in Explore mode, which features comprehension questions which assess your child’s understanding of what they read. After Explore mode, I Can Read mode is unlocked, where your child can read the story, play fun word-based minigames and even record and listen to him/herself reading aloud! These minigames offer more practice to expand reading comprehension and vocabulary. After playing I Can Read, your child can unleash their inner artist in paint mode while the story is read to them by the tutor. Once your child completesall four modes in the first book, an additional book is unlocked in their library to read and explore. These books were specially created at the University of Colorado to both engage readers and supply practice to gain fluent reading and comprehension.
At any point your child can also play phonics minigames building the skills necessary to become an independent reader. The phonics games focus building words that start, contain, and end with certain letters and sounds. These games progress along with your child by evaluating performance on the current concept then moving on once that concept has been mastered. In addition to phonics practice, our challenge mode will test your child’s skills with survival-style gameplay.
After your child has explored a story and tested their phonics skills, he or she is ready for quiz mode! Quiz mode tests the skills and concepts your child has learned up until that point in the game. By answering story comprehension questions, word matching, and coloring (just for fun!) your child can unlock 20 great prizes! [Prize Pictures] Parents can access Parent Mode at any time to track your child’s progress and identify areas of mastery and areas needing more focus for deeper learning.
