(Great Way to get Kids to Read using the DS they already Love.)
『We got My Virtual Reader for my 1st grade son who is not a fan of books but loves his DS. The wonderful thing about the product is his attention span with My Virtual Tutor is much greater than paper-based books. Now, he actually enjoys reading! If your kids dislike reading books, this is a great way to get them reading in a fun and interactive way.』

(Good but easy)
『My daughter who just turned 7 said, "It's very fun and it's easy."
I say they should make it more challenging.』

(Grand daughter loves it!)
『My granddaughter, age 6.5, really likes this game. She is a master of math blaster DVD game and has been playing Mario Bros on the Nintendo for the past year. She started playing this game about 1 month ago and it has replaced Mario. She loves to read aloud and hear herself read with the record function. She has been able to navigate the game all by herself. Honestly, I feel less guilty about video game playing not that this game is a favorite. She mostly plays in the car. I am thinking of buying the Pre-K level for my grandson.』

(Not all that impressed:()
『I was so excited to get this game, but it fell short of my expectations. It does not work on the skills of a beginning reader. I was hoping it would work on sight words and helping my child sound out words, but it has an expectation that you already know how to read. It has very few games and once they complete them, they are done. My son has almost conquered the entire game and he just got the game yesterday. I would not recommend this to anyone. I feel like I wasted my money.』
『How do you make learning to read fun, affordable and portable? Grab you Nintendo DS and get ready for a Reading Adventure! With the help of Mentor InterActive¿s proprietary virtual tutor, your child will conquer early reading through individualized, adaptive learning exercises and interactive books - all while having fun with their Nintendo DS. - 8 Interactive Books - 4 Different Play Modes * Read To Me - Tutor reads story with engaging animation * I Can Read - Beginning vocabulary word-based activities * Interactive - Clickable animations with interactive quizzes to test reading and vocabulary comprehension * Paint - Unleash creativity and illustrate scenes while listening to a story - Staged Learning - Through self-correcting practice, the different codes of interacting with the exercises and stories will advance along with player - 5 Reading Areas - Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Comprehension』
My Virtual Tutor: ReadingBy combining the kid-friendly Nintendo DS with a proven reading curriculum developed and tested at the University of Colorado,My Virtual Tutor: Readingmakes learning reading skills fun, affordable and portable!  Through interactive books, school age and grade relevant phonics instruction and  fun quiz modes, your child will learn the comprehension, phonics, fluency and vocabulary necessary to become an expert reader, all  while having fun with their Nintendo DS.

Gameplay

My Virtual Tutor: Readinggreets your child first with a fun story in Read to Me mode, where the story is read by the tutor, accompanied by fun sounds and animations.  Once the story is read, your child  then accesses the story in Explore mode, which features comprehension questions which assess your child’s understanding of what they read.  After Explore mode, I Can Read mode is unlocked, where your child can read the story, play fun word-based minigames and even record and listen to him/herself reading aloud!  These minigames offer more practice to expand reading comprehension and vocabulary.  After playing I Can Read, your child can unleash their inner artist in paint mode while the story is read to them by the tutor.  Once your child completesall four modes in the first book, an additional book is unlocked in their library to read and explore.  These books were specially created at the University of Colorado to both engage readers and supply practice to gain fluent reading and comprehension.

At any point your child can also play phonics minigames building the skills necessary to become an independent reader.  The phonics games focus building words that start, contain, and end with certain letters and sounds.  These games progress along with your child by evaluating performance on the current concept then moving on once that concept has been mastered.  In addition to phonics practice, our challenge mode will test your child’s skills with survival-style gameplay.

After your child has explored a story and tested their phonics skills, he or she is ready for quiz mode!  Quiz mode tests the skills and concepts your child has learned up until that point in the game.  By answering story comprehension questions, word matching, and coloring (just for fun!) your child can unlock 20 great prizes! [Prize Pictures]
Parents can access Parent Mode at any time to track your child’s progress and identify areas of mastery and areas needing more focus for deeper learning.

Key Features

Enhanced Learning– Reading as a fun activity
My Virtual Tutor: Reading has fun as a top priority.  By experiencing early reading through wonderful, hand-drawn animations and characters, along with fun mini-games, your child will not only learn to read; they’ll learn that reading is fun!

Successful
The game is based on the National Education Association standards for teaching literacy, and  derived from a system developed by researchers at the University of Colorado.  Delivered on the Nintendo DS, learning to read is made fun and portable.

Easy to Play
Nintendo DS uses the touchscreen exclusively; no need for long, wordy menus to begin and play! Your child can interact with the words and pictures in the game, and they can even paint a picture of the story while the virtual tutor reads.  With the portability of a Nintendo DS, your child can learn to read anywhere, anytime!

Adaptive learning
My Virtual Tutor: Reading teaches your child new skills as they master previous ones.  The activities are paced to correlate with their learning.  As your child performs better and faster, the game will dish out extra challenges to keep them excited and engaged.

Self-Correcting Practices
To help develop fluency, your child can read the books out-load using the Nintendo DS microphone.  After your child reads, the tutor will play back the recording and compare it to what she reads for self-correcting practice.

A Fun Reward System
Animated and interactive quizzes are introduced to test your child's retention of the skills and concepts they learned while playing the game.   As your child learns to read by mastering skills and concepts, fun prizes are awarded.  Your child will be eager to accumulate as many prizes as possible.

Parent Mode
By tracking your child’s progress, the tutor shows you where your child excels, and where more practice is needed.
Up to 3 Users per Game

With up to three possible user profiles, every child in your family can have their very own Virtual Tutor!

(Tough game, but very helpful)
『I have noticed a couple of misspelled words in questions, That always throws me off!! I got this because I have been out of school for 25 years and haven't used algebra or geometry in all those years, I don't want to have to go through the basic math classes now that I have returned to college. It is doing ok with teaching me, it's more of an experience teacher though. Test first, then explaining why I'm wrong. I'm sure it would be much better for kids still in school who have a clue what they are doing, but I am learning. This is my "break" from my 6 college classes. I recommend this game for anyone who is trying to improve their chances on the SAT.』

(Fun for improving reading, math skills, etc.)
『I love this game! It is a fun way to help adults of all ages brush up on their Reading, Writing, and math skills all in one game. There are enough questions that you can never get tired of this product. I recommend this product to anyone for college prep or someone who hasn't been in school for years and wants to see how much they remember.』

(Smarter than I thought)
『I have not played it that long but I was surprised at how much I knew.... Anyway, whether you are taking the SAT or not, I think it is a great way to challenge yourself and simply exercise your brain. So I highly recommend it!!!』

(Really good test prep for the SAT!)
『My son completed futureU rather quickly and found it unchallenging. I then bought him My SAT Coach and he loves it. I find the test prep on this is better and more challenging. With 2000 test questions and 2 full-length exams, I couldn't have asked for more. He enjoys using this so much more than the test prep books as well.』

(Winner!)
『This game is a Winner! My Sohpmore son is just entering into the SAT prep/classes/testing whirlwind and this game along with Future U really has made the process so much easier for him. He had been very nervous about the upcoming SAT/ACT/SATII tests but now he feels much more confident in his knowledge of these most obscure questions. He readily "practices" his SAT questions every night using both My SAT coach and Future U and is always quite proud of himself when he gets his "gold" star after completing a section of the game. The game is formated to be fun while educational. The questions are all questions that will be on the exam and as the title says, it is from the Princeton Review which is the best learning tool of SAT's. Any parent who is worried about these standardized tests and know their importance into getting into colleges then this is the game for your child. It has worked for my son in a very positive and easy way.』
『Get ready for the SATs the easy way. Developed in Ubisoft's Montreal studio and in partnership with The Princeton Review, My SAT Coach helps students prepare for the SAT exams by presenting timed drills and other activities in mini-games. Game scores are tracked and you are given recommendations on how to improve testing performance. It includes more than 2,000 practice questions and two full-length practice exams.』

(One of the top 5 Turn Based Strategy Games on DS)
『I would rank this right up there with FFTA2, Civilization: Revolution, Advance Wars, and AoE for the DS. It's a must-buy for DS turn-based fans. The new graphics make it even better than AoE 1 for the DS.』

(Great portable strategy title)
『"Age of Empires: Mythologies" continues the fine tradition of the classic strategy game series. But this time, we get to use the gods, heroes, and monsters of classic mythology to do battle with on the Nintendo DS. Joy! The game packs in countless hours of gameplay featuring more content then you will ever use and most of the satisfaction of classic strategy series' like "Warcraft" and "Civilization"; all in your pocket. It's really amazing how far portable gaming has come from the days of "Tetris". Never thought I'd be balancing resource-gathering, town-building, and research with offensive and defensive ambush strategies and playing multiple worthy AI opponents against each other in a handheld game.

Alrighty then. Egyptian, Nordic, or Greek: pick your favorite. All are here with their own unique line-up of gods, heroes, and combat units, among other things. There is a campaign for each that utilizes all of what each mythology has to offer in a sort of story mode. It's reasonably challenging although I was extremely annoyed at first by the slow build-up before being able to build towns and create the units I wanted to. The game picks your patron god and heroes for you among other things during the campaigns which I did not care for one bit. But if you are new to turn-based strategy wargames like this one, it's a great way to learn. It's also a great way to get points that you can use to unlock tons of new in-game stuff for the real meat of this sort of game: the skirmish mode. There are also scenarios where you are given an army and a certain number of foes to defeat, but I found the mode a bit dull with the lack of customization and too easy. but he, it's another way to get points to spend!

Skirmish mode needs a new name because in a game like this, it is all-out war. You get to choose a map, choose a culture, choose your hero, your patron god (and the unique powers and units that come with them), and also choose you opponents (up to three) and whether they are all gunning for you or each other as well. This is where the game really gains it's replay value since there are TONS of options. I was disappointed that you couldn't have an AI partner for a little 2-on-2 match, but everyone-against-everyone is the best anyways. There's also multiplayer options which I will never use because a single game takes hours to complete and can go on literally forever if evenly matched strategists are playing each other.

The units at your disposal include everything from winged harpies and giant scarabs to myrmidons and catapults to frost giants and valkyries. There are dozens of unit types with individual strengths and weaknesses and each of the many god or goddesses has their own specialty units as well as other powers to help you. As you build up your civilization's resources, knowledge, and favor you can advance or "age up" to gain new powers from allied gods and stronger unit types for combat. the game is really a race against time to gather your strength and keep your enemies at bay until you can build up a strong enough army to crush them where they live. But with three other armies to contend with, that is a monumental task.

So wanna worship Loki, summon Hela's dragon servant and use battering rams to smash your enemies' buildings while fire giants rain flame upon your foes? Go nuts. How about sending a Nemien lion to absorb your foes' archers' attacks while your chimera hide in the forest and sneak around with Perseus to crush them from the flank? Sounds good. Or have the goddess Isis boost your income with her Prosperity power while Hatshepsut builds a series of obelisks to help you stock up on favor and give your units a defensible foothold near a cache of food and gold. Why not? It's going to be a long game either way. The strategic options presented to you in each game keep it infinitely varied and interesting.

"Age of Empires: Mythologies" does a fantastic job of shrinking the experience of a great turn-based strategy game. I was at first very unimpressed, but the more I put into this game the more it kept giving back. This is a game with unlimited replay value that combines elements of the very best strategy series' out there with the coolest elements of the greatest mythologies the world has ever know. This is just a great game all around. The graphics in the fighting sequences look great for a DS title, but once their novelty wears off you can skip or remove them to speed up the pace of the game. Options, options, options is the name of the game for this genre and this one has got them. For full-scale multi-faction wars featuring mythic warriors and creatures in the palm of your hand, it doesn't get any better.』

(Age of Empires - Mithology)
『The idea behind is the same of all the "Age of Empires". Despite of this, mythology behind the game is enough accurate to tempt the player to go on in the history and try all the possible scenarios.

For my experience of medium expert player, at least 2 months of playability are granted.』

(Eh it's okay)
『This wasn't the type of play i thought it was going to be, i find it to be a very difficult game to understand.』

(Great for Mythology Lovers)
『As a great lover of Greek Mythology, I think this game really captures everything. The graphics are great, the storyline for each culture is well thought out, and the actual cultures blow me away. Each culture (Egyptian, Greek, and Norse) all include there main gods, and each come with special powers that either benefit your culture or wreck havoc on your enemies. Also, each god you choose to worship comes with a mythical beast, ranging from sphinxes to harpies, and even to ice and fire giants. In addition, the gods seem to have an odd sense of humor, making you wonder if you should laugh or cry.
Another quality of the game is that, if you don't like the story mode, you can play a game against between 1 to 4 computer players.
Buy this game, and you won't regret it!』

『Inspired by the hit PC title and built on the game engine behind the critically acclaimed Age of Empires: Age of Kings, Age of Empires: Mythologies will be the ultimate portable tactical strategy game with its refined gameplay, inspired design, fantastic multiplayer, and extensive replay value. Age of Empires: Mythologies for the Nintendo DS is a compelling new turn-based strategy game that challenges players to shape the destiny of three unique cultures in a fantasy world filled with mighty heroes, legendary monsters, and powerful gods. Players will lead their Egyptian, Greek, and Norse heroes to victory by raising massive armies, waging war, exploring new frontiers, and advancing through three distinct ages that offer fantastic new units, abilities, and god powers like lighting storms, earthquakes, and devastating plagues that players can call on to smite their enemies.』

『I got it so I could help my grandson with the game. Not an easy task. but with practice it will get better.』

(Awesome!)
『This game is awesome! Brings back classic memories of playing Nintendo as a kid! :D

One could call this game "childish" but in my opinion thats what gives it its charm!

I recommend this game to anyone who is a casual gamer and is a fan of Nintendo/Mario related products.』

(Challenging and good, but at times frustrating)
『I was a huge fan of the Yoshi's Island for the SNES when I was a teen. So I was really excited to see this game for the DS. I picked it up the same day I got my DS. I stopped playing it somewhere around the 3rd world, and picked it up again the other day after probably a year and a half.

The game is very light hearted. There are a lot of very challenging boards through out the early game, however I would say that late level 3 and on, some of the levels are really tough to beat.

I went through 32 lives on World 4-7: Teeth-Chattering Chill Zone. I was so mad I wanted to snap my DS in half. This honestly has to be one of the worst boards on any game I have ever played. Tiny, icy ledges that you have jump onto (and slide when you land) and THEN add in penguins who move around/fly which you bounce off of if you touch them, and on top of it: bouncies. I swear this is the most annoying enemy I have ever encountered in any game, as you jump from ledge to ledge, sliding and hoping you do not hit a penguin, gigantic pink smiling bouncies are falling down onto you which also send you flying around if you hit them. I cannot remember in years being as angry as I was when playing this board.

Almost every zone in world 4 I just wanted to hurry up....forget about coins, flowers, just get to the end.

I love being challenged for sure, some of the things in this game are just plain annoying. Then throw in the screaming baby when you get hit by something, and it can make for an unpleasent adventure at times.

I could see children getting very discouraged by some of the difficulty of the later levels of the game. Seasoned gamers and fans of the Yoshi series should fare well enough.

Overall this is a VERY good game, just can be so frustrating at times. I would recommend it, it will keep you busy for quite some time.

(fun fun fun)
『Both kids 4 and 6 love this game. I sneak onto the DS to play it as well. Cute music; cute premise; cute pictures. Happy go lucky feel good kind of game.』

(A throwback to fire emblem of old)
『This game is quite fun, if your a fan of Fire emblem or other TRPG's like Final Fantasy Tactics or advance wars. It's easy to tell this game is somewhat old though, this is not necessarily a drawback. However, its missing some of the features I enjoyed from more recently released titles of the franchise like rescue and a good combat mechanics tutorial. Those of you who have played a fire emblem game before will be just fine, however those of you who have not played a fire emblem game before should consider reading a Battle Strategy Guide.』

(This was a great game)
『This game is just as good as its predecessors so check it out new story new controls, awesome.』

(A really great game)
『Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon is a rerelease of the first Fire Emblem game, which never made it to the US from Japan when it originally came out. It does all the things good rereleases need to do: the graphics have been substantially improved, and the soundtrack and sound effects have been remade or remastered, but the core gameplay remains the same. It's a very good game; there are a variety of units, each with their own unique stats, and a huge number of character classes with weapons to go with each. If you like turn-based strategy RPGs, Shadow Dragon is a very good entry on the DS that I can't find any serious flaws with.』

(Fire Emblem Review)
『For anyone who like tactical rpg games this is definitely worth grabbing. It's similar to Final Fantasy Tactics which I would also recommend.』

(First FE game I played, and it has made me want more)
『Untill I bought this game, Fire Emblem was just another series that appeared in the Super Smash Bros Brawl and Melee. When I saw this game, I decided to see if it was any good. I was really impressed with it. The controls are fast to learn, and you can make the game as hard as you want by choosing one of 6 levels of difficulties. The multi player setting is challeging if your characters have not been arena abused, but it is still fun. I loved the game so much that I could put it down until I beat it. I got so into it, that now I am going to buy the rest of the series.』

You are the general: Shape your army to suit your strategy by selecting from dozens of characters with unique spells and abilities. But guide your army wisely, because if a character falls on the battlefield, he's lost forever.

Game storyline: Medeus, the king of the dragonkin, has been revived and is forming an alliance with a fearsome sorcerer named Gharnef. Together, they threaten to the throw the entire continent of Archanea back to an age of chaos and war. Now, it's up to young Prince Marth and his small band of loyal followers to rise up and rally all those left in the land to make one last desperate push to free Archanea from the tyranny of the Shadow Dragon.

How to progress through the game: Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon is a turn-based strategy game with a fantasy setting. Players alternate turns with opponents, moving their pieces (units) and attacking enemy units on the battlefield. There are dozens of units and different weapons and magic spells, each with its own strategic benefits-high-flying Pegasus knights move effortlessly over varied terrain, fast-moving mounted cavaliers can use swords and lances, unarmed curates use healing staves to mend the wounds of other units and so on.

Characters: Many groups play a part in a story but undoubtedly the story's protagonist, Prince Marth, will be the focus for most. Marth has been featured in the Super Smash Bros. series and has been extremely popular within those games, but this is his first time starring in a Fire Emblem game in the United States. At Marth's side is a support of fearless fighters, including the brave Caeda, a princess of the Talys kingdom. Other major characters include the evil sorcerer Gharnef and the sole surviving descendant of the royal House Archanea, Princess Nyna.

Special Features:

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragonis the first to offer players a chance to test their skills against other players in combat. Using your broadband connection, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and wireless play modes, players are able to send units they've trained into battle against those of another player. Collect optional cards to give your team a unique tactical bonus that can help you clench victory. During Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection matches, friends can talk to each other using the built-in Nintendo DS microphone.

Touch-screen controls, multiple save options and an easy-to-follow tutorial allow novice players to jump into the action, even if they've never played a Fire Emblem game before.

Borrow units wirelessly or through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and use them in your own battles with the Loan Unit feature.

Six levels of difficulty ensure that even seasoned players can find a challenge in this new entry into the Fire Emblem series.

Purchase rare and powerful items using the gold you've acquired during your single-player campaign with the Online Shop feature. You never know what items you might come across, because new items rotate in and out of the armory on a daily basis.

Play through the events that brought Marth to the beginning of his quest through a new set of prologue chapters that were specially added to the game for its Nintendo DS release.』

(Tetris DS)
『The game does not work in the Nintendo Dsi, but it works in the Nintendo DS. I called Nintendo when I got it and they told me that the game was not made by Nintendo and some one is copying games and selling them. Becacafull this don't happen to you. Nitendo also said that the new DSi will only play game that Nintendo make not copys to try to stop people from doing this. My game also came New>』

(Pretty fun Tetris.)
『Well I bought the game and took it home to play. I played for a couple hours with all the modes and let me tell you something. It's Tertris with Nintendo characters. The 8-bit look looks cool and you got six modes which is basically Tetris with toching to move them or doing missons. In the end it's pretty addictive and will keep your interest for a long time.』

(Disapointment in Amazon)
『The Tetris game purchased was for a child with a Traumatic Brain Injury and highly reccommeneded for people with TBI.

However the game we received from Amazon which was sold as new unused, acttually is used and worn out from use. Even after contacting the retailer from Amazon I have heard nothing back.

So I am very disatisfied with my recent Amazon purchase.』

(the best)
『wow this new version of tetris is great. they put a twist to the original by adding mario which was nice. its not just making lines anymore theres more to it you can never get board wit it. when i recieved it in the mail i couldnt believe it, it was still the same with great updates. its the best game i have. i love it.』

(sort of bites...)
『I've had this on my wish list forever and only just got it off Marketplace. The graphics are super lame and the game play is so-so. I guess I just wanted classic Tetris only with Touch Screen and this is not it. The Tower puzzle in Touch mode is OK but the rest is sort of boring and lame. It was so retro and lacking any innovation as well as the classic mode, I thought I might have been shipped a knock off.』
『Tetris DS is Tetris like you've never seen before! With six highly addictive modes of play, with single-player challenges&multiplayer matches. Each of the six modes of play features a theme based on a classic Nintendo game. It makes the most of the DS stylus and dual screens, and allows a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to compete in two- or four-player battles.』

(A DS MUST!)
『Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword is basically the DS version of Ninja Gaiden on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, and given the absolute sheer quality of controls, graphics, sound, pacing and unique touch-screen scheme, this is one of those DS action fan must buys, and an absolute sin if not purchased by fans of the console games.

NG basically starts off where NG and NG Sigma (ps3 version) left off, with peace in the quaint village, but it is soon discovered that the fiends are once again trying to get their hands on the Dragon Sword to take over the world, and it's up to Ryu Hayabusa to once again take them on.
The game is 13 levels which takes you to all the similar and even same locales as the console games Ninja Gaiden and Sigma, and it's really cool to see them rendered on the DS.
Starting off, the main difference gamers will see is the control scheme. Instead of using the DS buttons to attack, jump, etc, you use slashes on the touch screen to command Ryu's moves. You slash across an enemy to attack, you slide up to jump, you tap an enemy to use your secondary weapons (ninja starts and arrows). You touch an area to move Ryu and you do combinations, such as up to jump then slash for a flying attack or hit and enemy, down slash and up slash to do a flying swallow attack. You block (any button) and tap to do a dodging barrel roll, a move that comes in very handy throughout the entire game. The only drawback to such a scheme is that sometimes the DS reads certain touch movements as jump when you're trying to slash, or ninja star throw when you're trying to dodge, etc. You become accustomed to this at about the 2nd or 3rd level, and even though this makes it a little disappointing because you don't always pull off what you want, the overall scheme for about 95% of the rest of the gameplay you'll hardly notice it, if at all. It also takes advantage in some cute ways of using the DS mic.

If you're a NG fan you also will expect some level of more advanced difficulty, but given the fact that it's on the DS and with the newer control scheme and lack of DS AI ability, SOME may want the game to be harder (as overall it doesn't match wits with the challenge of the console NG games). There are times when the game gets pretty difficult and intense, and this usually comes in trying to defeat a certain amount of enemies in an area before losing all your health. The game pretty much walks a perfect line of not being too overly and cheaply difficult considering the control scheme, but not letting it get too easy that it can be easily beaten by your average 10 year old. The good thing is that there are plenty of save points and no arduous or tedious backtracking. So don't be worried about ever getting lost or pinned up against a big boss with only limited energy. No, things are kept fair and accessible.

Graphically and sound-wise the game is top notch. These are some of the best animations you'll see on the DS, and the sound quality is simply outstanding, most especially with the japanese flairs tossed in to keep things real (yea, no real spoken dialogue, you'll have to read words).

Great controls, addicting gameplay, intense challenge, great graphics, awesome sound, worthwhile campaign length; this all makes Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword a game no action fan should be without. Considering the cheaper price, this game is a steal, plus a good practice break in between console NG games.』

(Too mindless!)
『I'm a huge fan of the Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2, but not this one. I can perform 5 minute long battles by just swiping my stylus on the screen. I mostly watched TV while doing this and then looked down at the DS once the enemy sounds cease. The boss battles were good and I got stuck on a couple of the puzzles. However, I spent 80% of the time watching TV while swiping at the screen.』

(Ninja Gaiden reborn)

I had a lot of fun with this game. I played it on the normal difficulty mode, and when I had completed the game I was at the 7 hours of gameplay mark. So its 7 good solid hours of gameplay with a cool storyline and good graphics. While 7 hours may seem short to some, I could only play the game for 15-30 minutes at a time because your fingers are tired from slashing the stylus back and forth to kill enemies. Cool way of doing combat but doesn't lend itself to playing for extended periods of time.』

(Ninja Gaiden for DS Dragonsword)
『This game is great. Gave me a ton of respect for my little DS and the capabilities it shows. The game is great, easy to play, good story line and all, its a + for ninja gaideners and devil may cryish games. It Rocks, trust me =)』

(Excellent addition to the franchise)
『The basics:

Is this game fun: Incredibly.
How do the Stylus controls work: Generally very well.
Is this game a recommended purchase: Highly at the now greatly discounted price.

Ninja gaiden DS is set 6 months after the events of Ninja Gaiden and the story continuity is a welcome feature. Though, if you've never played the original xbox game or its subsequent editions (Black, Sigma) you are really not at a significant loss. This game is basically an intelligent hack and slash actioner and story is an added bonus.

As other reviewers have noted, production values are top notch. The graphics of this game has been rightly acknoledged with being some of the best on the DS. They look fantastic with only the large bosses looking blocky. Music is excellent and appropriate with the only downside being the virtually non-existent recorded voice work. Couldn't we at least have some for cut scenes? Oh well, not a huge disappointment.

Controlling Ryu is accomplished with the stylus and generally this is well executed. Ryu has quite a few combos and new ones can be bought with souls (?) that are collected as you progress as well as upgrading your magic and your sword (Dragon Sword, DS, get it? :) ). A few complication can arise due to map layouts as you are sometime deep into the foreground where combos and actions are harder for the the DS to decipher as Ryu is quite small during these situations. Again, mostly a minor nitpick.

Additionally, Ninja Gaiden games can be known for their "challenging" difficulty. NG Black was supposedly especially difficult and the PS3 remake contained an unlockable easy difficulty if you died enough times, which the game mocked you for choosing. IMO, that easy difficulty was the right one making Sigma a joy to play. NG DS falls into about the same difficulty as the Sigma easy (ninja dog) difficulty - it isn't a cake walk but it isn't as challenging as the main series by far.

My only other nitpick is the game's length. I logged approximately 7.5 hrs into the game including looking for extras and playing optional "challenge rooms". The main story could probably be finished in much less time if someone was speeding through the campaign. Replay incentives are there for the person looking to collect all extras AND is interested in playing a more difficult level. This is because extras can only be fully gathered by playing the "hard" difficulty, something that doesn't interest me.

So minor issues aside, I had a blast with this game. It features excellent graphics and great hack 'n slash action with functionable stylus controls. For anyone who is a fan of the genre this is a highly recommend. Additionally now that this game can easily be found with a greatly discounted price, it is easy to forginve any shortcoming in length and makes this an easy recommend for everyone.』

『Uncover all the mysteries of Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword as you fight enemy ninjas and battle various fiends while taking on the role of Master Ninja, Ryu Hayabusa, in an all new storyline for the Nintendo DS.』

(Lots of stuff, but is it all practical?)
『Great price with options so the need to purchase one or two additional accessories should not be necessary.
* 4 Screen Protectors are actually two for each screen. These are a must to keep screen in good condition.
* 3 Styluses&3 Fingertip Styluses. Extra styluses are always good since kids are prone to loosing small items like this. Fingertip versus pen styluses? User will favor one over the other.
* 1 Pair Headphones, An Audio Splitter. Splitter is only good when using a second set of ear buds for two player games.
* Car Adapter, Docking Station, Cleaning Cloth&Wrist Strap. Docking station is a glorifies charger which already comes with the DSI. Like the Wii controllers, wrist strap will prevent accidental drops and breakage. Car adapter is a must for travelers.
* Protective Travel Case&4 Game Cases. Travel case is too small to hold the DSI with all four game cases and ear buds. It is okay for the DSI, ear buds, and maybe two game cases.

(decent accessory pack)
『This was a fine accessory pack. Some parts are very useful, others are inessential, and the quality is passable.』

(Decent quality, but incompatible with Silicone Skin protectors.)
『This kit is a good value for what you get. Even if you don't use everything, you'll use enough of it to justify the price. The docking station is convenient, though if you want to use that and have an AC adapter with your device when you are on the go, you may want to buy a second adapter.

The headphones are pretty decent for use with the DS and the styluses are obviously useful. The case is a tight fit and is fairly hard (it's not a soft pliable case).

One important thing I would point out is that if you use one of those silicone slip case protectors on your DS to protect it, you will not be able to use the docking station. The fit is just enough for the unencumbered DS to fit. Removing and replacing the silicone cover every time you dock it is clearly not an option, either. So before you buy this -- know that if you already are a user of the silicone covers, you'll have to give those up or dismiss the docking station element of this package.』

(Slick - but some fillers)
『The case fits the DSi snugly. The charge base station (you hook the the OEM charger into it) is attractive, and in my opinion is the best looking item of the whole kit, and the car charger is great too! The extra styli are nice, the screen protector are good but the touch screen protector seems a little weird - it has a white outer adhesive which looks odd on a black DSi, all of the other protectors apply without being noticeable after application. Everything else seems to be a filler, the stereo jack splitter I have little need for, and those ODD finger styli seem to be pointless (for a game system anyway). The screen cleaning cloth could have been a little better, but your T-shirt works just as well. Finally the three game cases seem to be the most pointless inclusion, espically when the case is not big enough to hold them and the DSI.

I guess in conclusion, the Case and the extra styli out weigh the fillers. I would recomend this kit if you are looking for a good case, and some good inclusions and all else is fillers.』

(interesting gadgets)
『If you travel a lot, the hard case feels very trustworthy. I like the headphones, the extra styluses, and it's nice to have the option of putting a game in a smaller plastic case to bring with you. Although it's likely you won't actually use most of the stuff in the kit.』
『Designed for the new DSi. The ICON 22-In-1 Deluxe Starter Kit includes four game cases to protect your game cartridges from dust and scratches, a pair of headphones to enjoy high-quality sounds, an audio splitter so you and your best friend can listen to music together, a car adapter to give you the power you need when you are on the road, a docking station to display and charge your DSi in fashion, four screen protectors to protect both of your DSi screens, a camera lens screen protector to protect your DSi camera lens, a soft protective travel case to protect your DSi, a wrist strap to carry your DSi anywhere, three replacement styluses and three finger-tip styluses to easily manage your DSi's communication features. Plus, a cleaning cloth to ensure visual clarity when gaming.』
