customer 's review (I thought I was ambidextrous...UNTIL...)
(Very limited game...)
(Simple Graphics, Fun, Kids can play)
(Left Brain Right Brain for Nintendo DS)
(Improve Fine Motor Control, Speed, and Coordination of Hands) I thought I was ambidextrous since I can write, do various tasks and play games with either hand.
This is a very good at improved your abilities in the non-dominant hand. It works well for hand and eye coordination. There are multiple levels graphical representations of your progress.
If you are already ambidextrous, this game won't help. If you THINK you are ambidextrous, then try this game. If you want to improve your ability to use either hand, this a great exercise for you.
There are various tasks such as hit the monster, mazes, writing letters, obstacle course, tracing items, etc.
This is fun but I don't recommend hours upon hours of play like adventure games. You can only do repetitive tasks so often before you just burn out.
VERDICT
Good game which will improve your dexterity with the non-dominant hand. After playing this game for about two days, I had pretty much reached all of its limits challenge wise. Very simple game, waste of money in my opinion. My 6YO son always tries to play my DS games (Brain Age types) and can't do it. Left Brain/Right Brain is simple enough that he can actually enjoy without frustration. At a good price (I bought used for 12.99), it's worth it for that alone. He is also tickled to turn the DS around to do the Left Hand thing.
I'm not in interested in true ambidexterity, but I'm sure that doing things with your weak hand is good for the brain. The game is simple and not stressful. Graphics are weak, but adequate. I imagine younger people (12-25) might be put off by this. We are all having a great time with this game. Shipping was fast. Thank you very much! Are you a man or a monkey? Monkey's only use one hand. People use two hands. If you want to improve your "weak" hand and have fun doing it, this game is awesome. It's also great if you just want to have fun doing something different.
This game has a wide variety of small / fast games. Each one works on fine motor control of your hand: speed, accuracy, and fine movements. The expectation is that you will do the games with your weak hand (e.g., left for most people) more often than your strong hand (e.g., right for most people). If you tend toward "monkey", a few of the games can be frustrating when performed with your weaker hand.
Here are some of the games: - quickly draw a line to connect three or more dots - quickly and accurately press a "note" that lights up, to play a song. Some musical training helps make this one fun. - accurately press the green square that lights up - an arcade style game of hit-the-mole - scratch the grey surface off of a hidden word (like a "what have I won" ticket) - guide a ball through a maze without hitting the walls. The games are about 15 seconds to 50 seconds long, with most games being around 30 seconds.
Fun, fast, and entertaining. So, what are the advantages of strengthening your weak hand? Well, if you have any sort of repetative injury, you can take a lot of stress off of your dominant hand by performing more tasks with your weak hand. For example, my right hand would hurt when I used the mouse too much; by moving the mouse to my left hand, I avoided wrist pains and serious complications. That was tricky for the first week, and this game would certainly have made my life easer.
Are you a man or a monkey? Play this game and find out! Are you a righty or a lefty? What if you could be both? With Left Brain, Right Brain, you can hone your mental skills to become truly ambidextrous. While training your hands with speed based DS Mini-games, you'll also be training the left and right hemispheres of your brain. It's like two games in one! Rerations < Left Brain, Right Brain >

customer 's review (My daughter loves this game)
(Super fun DK Jungle Climber)
(fun but repetitive)
(Great game)
(Nintendo DS title) My daughter loves this game. It isn't an action packed thriller. It doesn't have overwhelming, stunning graphics. I think it is more along the line of Mario games--great entertainment for all ages without having to worry about content. I want my daughter to love her games but I do not want violence, language, etc. This is a good example of how a "wholesome" game can be a lot of fun and you don't need the other stuff.
There are many levels to this game which holds my daughters attention as well. Unlike the original, this game gives you unlimited challenge. The first portion seems very difficult, but once you get to the 2nd portion, it makes the first portion seem very easy. Challenges, challenges. A VERY fun game for everyone. We need more DK games available for DS. One tip: gather as many lives as you can because you'll need them for the end of the first challenge. And the second portion: Having a lot of lives to begin will helps - you'll need them. Awesome game!!! All things considered it's a good game. It's fun to play. I find it challenging enough to be entertaining, but not frustrating. It's easy to earn extra lives and "perks". Only downside is that the game (so far) is pretty repetitive - climb things, find things, go to next level. I am an average mom, mid 30's, play a bit a night for fun / entertainment. I love this game, as does my 10 year daughter. We still haven't finished it after 6 months, there are many new areas that we have yet to reach. While it is sometimes very difficult, ultimately, with practice you can beat anything (so far!). Lots of different skills and moves to learn. If you like the Mario games, you will love this. I am picky about my video games and like to play on Nintendo DS - this is an old standard with some new moves. King K. Rool is up to no good again, and it's time for DK to swing into action! customer 's review (Surprising)
(Cute game even for adults)
(HOURS later...)
(What a Great Game!)
(Both of my sons love this game!) I must say I didn't have high hopes for this game, because my brother bought this game at full price and played it the day he got it and I never saw him play it again.
I saw this game for sale at a local computer type store (I don't remember the name but I don't think it's a chain) for less than 7 bucks... well I am always willing to add to my DS collection even though my brother had it and I could probably borrow it for free.
Well I started playing it... and I loved it! I beat it over two weekends.
I called my brother that weekend and asked him if he ever finished the game, he said oh after playing it the first time he wanted to continue playing it but had no time. He will give it another try seeing how much I liked it.
If you like Zelda (very similar to the minish cap I think) I think you will like this game... though this game is a lot easier than Zelda, in the minish cap, I got to the final boss and wasn't able to get through the 3rd level of the boss and gave up, that didn't feel good. This game it's pretty easy to beat all the bosses and you get that warm I beat the game feeling. ^_^
I agree with other people that this game has little replay value but there are a million games out there. No one game really needs replay value. ;-) It's fun for the whole family I think. My only real compliant is that it's too short! Hated the game for the first few days, then had great fun with it. Very little dual screen stylus action, but fun and cute. Younger children will enjoy and so did this 40 something. My 7-year-old son got this as a gift for Christmas, along with a DS and 3 other games (Zelda, and a couple of older Mario titles, I think). This is the game he played right out of the box and continued to play for the next couple of days - whenever he could, and for as long as he was allowed.
Honestly, this game had mainly been purchased as "filler", believing that he would start playing Zelda first and not ever end up getting around to this one (at least, not for a while) - and with the price so much cheaper than many other DS games, it seemed like a decent pick.
I take great pleasure in admitting that I was wrong - this game has been well worth the purchase. Considering the cost and the amount of hours played already, it turned into a flat-out bargain!
I cannot go into details regarding the game itself, as I have not played. Besides, I believe that others have covered most of that in depth. But what I can say is this - the game was not too complicated (he tried Zelda but initially had a hard time getting the hang of it), he played for as long as he could, and I kept hearing giggles during game play. All of those together tell me that it is well worth the 4 stars (not educational, or it would have gotten 5). Now this game is fun! I only have a few hours into it but so far I'm really enjoying it. It's a cute game and a lot of fun. I haven't done a tank battle yet but so far this game is really enjoyable. It's not very hard, yet.... Another reviewer said if you like the box art you'll like the game. I agree with that. Fun, quirky and cute. Now if they can just bring over Digi Charat - Digi Communication, that would be awesome! I personally haven't played this game but both of my 14- and 10-year-old sons love this game. Especially my 10-year-old gets tired of playing any games after several game play, but for this one he hasn't quit playing; whenever he has time he's playing Rocket Slime.
So I guess this Rocket Slime must be a real fun game!! Set in the peaceful kingdom of Slimenia, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime is suddenly invaded by a mysterious cartel called the Plob, who then proceed to kidnap all the slimes in the capital city of Boingburg. The only slime left behind, Rocket, must embark on a journey to save his friends and uncover the Plob's nefarious plot. Each adventure stage culminates in Rocket hopping aboard a colossal slime-shaped war machine called the Schleiman Tank and battling it out with the enemy's Monster Tanks. Customize tanks by collecting a vast array of weapons and items. Call upon allies, each with their own individual personality and abilities, to aid in the heated tank battles. Even shoot your fellow slimes so they can infiltrate and sabotage the enemy's Monster Tank. Pit tanks against a friend's in exciting player vs. player action, using the Nintendo DS wireless multiplayer game feature. Rerations < Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime >

(Just another Re-Hash of My Word Coach by UbiSoft) The game is fine, but it is the same game with a different name(I believe it is My Word Coach, but I am not sure. I enjoyed the original version, but would have liked to have known that it was the same game with a different name. I simply gave one to a friend when I discovered they were the same. I like word and strategic games and usually try most of them. Good product, just let folks know if it is the same game with a different title. I bought this game because I thought it looked like a good way to recoop some of those lost brain cells. I was right! It looks like a child's game but it tests you on the definitions of words. Some I knew and some I had never heard of. Will definitely help expand your vocabulary no matter what your age!! The Word Fish game is the absolute best. My 9 year old daughter and I are in fierce competition to get to 100% word power and I cannot believe how much fun it is. She has ignored her other games just to battle me for the top spot and its exciting to see that its fun while both of us are learning. She is actually beating me on some games and I'm no dummy. This game makes it fun while getting a vocabulary boost. Buy this game for your kids and yourself and you will be thankful. My word coach part 2, basically. Even the jazzy background music is the same. The same candy-bar graph that measures how much you've accomplished for the day's lesson is still used. It's one of the big turn offs I had about My Word Coach. To complete the daily requirement, you need to schedule a good 45 min. I like the quick Brain Age type games better.

(good game if you like these kind)
(Fun But Impossible!)
(Trauma Center Is There really only 4 surgerys in the whole game?) a person who has poor memorization skill for sequences should not play this game. It's the basis of the game. One can easily get frustrated if one forgets a single step. Otherwise, it's a fun and interesting game. Very challenging in the later missions. Speed is more important than precision in Trauma Center: Under the Knife. It's not a game I want my surgeon to play. We thought the game was fun for awhile, then the speed and skill level required became overwhelming. The soap opera story line was more irritating than inspiring. Unless you are a really good gamer, the diagnosis for this one is terminal. i bought this game for my wii when i first got it, and i remember playing it and liking it until i got to a certain part that make no sense. so i thought that for the ds it would be a little different. as i was playing it, things didnt react the way the were supposed to and therefore i would fail missions or get a crappy score. then i had the same issue as i did with the wii version, i got to a part that they dont give you any instructions on and you cant get past it because you have no idea what your supposed to do. so this game is good and bad! This game is fun for the first 10 challenges. Then, it is pretty much impossible. I have had this game for two years, and I am still stuck on the level where you have to rescue 5 patients in 10 minutes. It is impossible! I hope that if they re-make the game that they make it simpler. I bought this game a couple weeks ago.I completed the first 3 surgerys w/ no problem and the I get to the one with that angie nurse and I almost get to the end of this surgery. The one with the polyps on the rock stars larynx, but is this actually all the surgeries in the game?Or are there more? Please someone tell me.Thank You!! Trauma Center: Under the Knife gives you the chance to play doctor. It's just another day in the O.R. until a mysterious outbreak sweeps the area. As the problems get more complex, it's up to you to wield your scalpel and test your medical skills under the most difficult conditions. Patients' lives are in your hands. Usually ships in 24 hours customer 's review (I Am Not Smarter Than A 2nd Grader) My second grader was rolling along just fine with Monsters v Aliens for the DS...quite enjoying it actually. That is until he got to the level where there is a progression of puzzles where you (Dr. Cockroach) need to reflect a cannon shot fired into a grid to bounce off various reflector points in the grid, and the shot must pass through a number of green dots in the grid without running into an obstacle or running through a red dot.
Well the game is rated E, but my 8 year old had a very hard time with this level of puzzles. So he came to his brilliant Dad for some help. After relatively easily getting through the first few puzzles in the progression, I got to like the 4th or 5th puzzle in the progression (the puzzle where you can use a T to split the shot in two). And after (too) much time, I found this particular puzzle in the level to be unsolvable....That is until I was contacted by someone who read my review here at Amazon and politely pointed me to a mistake that I was making in my attempt to solve the puzzle.
I guess that I am not smarter than a second grader.
While my mistake was a silly one, this level is still challenging for a second grader. But with a little help perhaps from an adult (one that's smarter than me...shouldn't be too hard)--or older brother or sister--getting through the game shouldn't be too difficult. In fact, my son is back to having a lot of fun with Monsters v Aliens for the DS now that we've navigated our way through Dr. Cockroach's puzzles.
My kids have proclaimed the Monsters v Aliens movie to be the best animated film that they've ever seen. Nice to see that they're having a lot of fun with a game adaptation of a movie...cuz we all now how that goes most of the time.

(Castlevania:Portrait of Ruin)
(Great Castlevania for DS)
(if you like castlevania SOTN or dawn of sorrow...)
(Not an experienced player) Castlevania Portrait of Ruin is a class act all the way. The graphics are large and beautiful, the sounds crisp, the music haunting, and the difficulty level is just right. Never ridiculously hard but just challenging enough. And the new addition of the 2 hero system is awesome. You have one character made for fighting and one made for magic. They can work separately or together and using them as a team to work through the game is a lot of fun. The mapping system is accurate and the Save Rooms come in handy. The warps and Portraits are very cool too--good ways to navigate the huge world. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. I think it's the best of the 3 DS Castlevania games so far. Beatiful to look at and a blast to play! Game graphics and storyline exceed expectations! It is one of the best adventure games I have played. Konami did really good with the touch screen with this game. Replay value is pretty high. Thing is some kids might get confuse playing this so i suggest for 13 and up. you will love this. just like symphony of the night&dawn of sorrow (and apparently aria of sorrow but never played that) -- it's a blast. lots of sidequests&secrets, it uses the same levelling up system&map systems of the others, but there are warp rooms to different areas, too. so while the main castle isn't as big as in dawn of sorrow, the game area is actually bigger. totally awesome purchase for ds, makes my daily train rides go by so fast. I got this game on the recommendation of my daughter's boyfriend. I had just finished "Legend of Zelda, Phantom Hourglass" (five stars there), and was looking for another game. I enjoy this game because of the puzzles and the ease of use of the characters. It's a bit challenging for me as I'm not very experienced with these things (I'm 47). I would recommend this game, but if you're not very experienced, like myself, be prepared to spend some time on it. 'Course that's not a bad thing either. Castlevania: Portrait Of Ruin brings back the award winning action exploration gameplay that has held fans captive for 2 decades! Seek out the evil Brauner. | Game Storyline InCastlevania: Portrait of Ruin, players take on the role of Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Orlean. During World War II, many lost souls from the global conflict were left to wander the world in search of salvation. Desperate to escape their terrible plight, they sought to resurrect Dracula's Castle from the rubble of society, assisted by two mysterious vampire sisters. Now Jonathan and Charlotte must work together to confront the two vampire sisters, and ensure that this villainous catastrophe is not unleashed on the world.Gameplay Evolving the action-adventure gameplay that has been the series' trademark for 20 years,Castlevania: Portrait of Ruinlets players switch freely between Jonathan and Charlotte as they proceed on their heroic mission, each with their own strengths, abilities and style of play. Players can now utilize powerful combination attacks in which both characters unleash the full extent of their combat abilities to decimate the game's more than 100 different enemies and bosses. In their quest to stop Dracula's resurrection, Jonathan and Charlotte can collect and use different weapons, equipment, and items to increase their overall skill level and acquire new abilities. As mentioned before, players can switch freely between both characters, a necessary option to win the game. For instance, you need to analyze certain situations and carefully choose to play either Jonathan or Charlotte in order to successfully battle against the vampire army. The two characters can also combine their powers to pull-off powerful combo attacks. Their combined abilities are needed in certain parts of the castle in order to progress through the game. The game has two different endings. Both endings involve the prevention of Dracula's resurrection, however only one actually involves the defeat of Brauner. Different choices allow for a uniquely diverse gameplay experience. Castlevania: Portrait of Ruinsupports the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection with a limited cooperative play mode feature. There is an online shop mode used through Wi-Fi as well. Players are able to put their items up for sale in a realistic marketplace. And perhaps best of all, when another player buys the item, the selling player gains the money but doesn't lose the item.

(GOOD!!!) Pretty good game play. The graphics are very good. If you have watched the cartoon any so far its followed the storyline pretty close. Hours of game play. The bosses so far could have been alittle harder and alittle more interesting but overall I thought the game is pretty good. If you are looking for alot of challenge then this game may not be what you want but if you want easy to moderate its pretty nice. Okay let me start off by saying I'm an autistic adult gamer...
See when I got this game it was in November of 08 for my birthday and see I have every DB, DBZ, DBGT game starting from the old GBC and up basically every DB game for the handhelds anyways I got this game and am now stuck.
I'm stuck on episode 2-3 Oolong vs Goku right at the very very end of this episode how do you beat Oolong with the soup and blow out the air fast enough around him. If anyone has beat this episode let me know how to because I'm seriuosly stuck.
Besides from that I'm a hardcore DB, DBZ, DBGT fan and really like this game and I agree with the other reviewer's this game does follow the storyline to a T. It's really fun too and just frustated that I'm stuck at that very end of that episode if any one know's how to beat Oolong let me know besides from that I've already found all the chests in the episode.
Great DB game hope they make Origins for DBZ and DBGT too like DB.
If your a hardcore DB, DBZ, DBGT fan then get this game you'll really like it.
Oh as far as this game goes relating to Zelda like what the other reviewer's are saying I really can't say the same because I've only played Zelda once on the GameCube one time and found that it was way to hard for me as far as Zelda goes on the DS or any other game system for that matter I try to avoid the Zelda series all together only because Zelda just seem's to have way to far a complicated series for me to ever understand but good luck to any one who can play the Zelda series.
Get this DB game you'll like it just watch out for episode 2-3 Oolong vs Goku it's really hard let me know if anyone ever beat's this episode and how to beat it.
Now I'm stuck on:
episode 3-1 Yamcha the Desert Bandit
Someone please help me with this game I love Dragon Ball but am just really struggling with this game. This game is very accurate and easily one of the best Dragon Ball games ever. The combat is at first challenging, but is easy to master and you must use the stylus to fight, touching Goku at different time intervals to perform different combos. After collecting enough skill orbs (Purple orbs), you can upgrade Goku's moves to be more powerful, includind the Kamehameha, and other moves you learn as you continue through the game. Bulma will be with you on most of the levels and you can't let her die or game over, but she has weapons that she can use. THE STORYLINE- is very accurate (and uncut), tells the whole story up until the end of the tournament, not sparing any detail. They extend some things for extra levels, but other than that, incredible. The game is not too short and not too long ( but some levels are long!). The cutscenes are amazing and extremely well handled in 3D. I have to say it is one of the best Dragon Ball Games so far in Akira Toryama's famous series!! :)
I Just Got My DS Not Long Ago And This Seems So Advanced And In Depth Compared To The Other DBZ games etc. I like the RPG Factor, I Think They Should Make A Game Like This To Follow Through With Each Saga, That Would Be Great From DB through DBZ through GT. I go it for my 9 yr old son, an he loves it, at first I tought it was going to be one of those boring rpg games, and it's nothing like it.. It's kind of zelda and mario 64 style, and goes back to all the places/adventures of goku in the first tv series. Dragonball Z: Origins DS Rerations < Dragon Ball: Origins >

(Fantastic for 2nd Grader)
(Good game!) Great for all ages. I purchased this game for my 7yr. old, there are plenty of carnival type events that are challenging on basically 3 levels rewarded as either bronze, silver, or gold medals called "Horrors". Points are based on such horrors, bronze being being the least to gold being the most point value. The more horror points you gather the more events you'll be able to play. There's alot to the game which keeps it interesting, it's not something you or your child will pass in a week then be done with and toss to side. Perfect for a lazy day or long car ride. I tried this game myself and liked it alot, I found the controls to be rather simple, and the graphics pretty good, the horrors or monsters in the game are actually pretty scary looking which is cool. Easy enough for young players and yet still challenging enough for the young at heart, I have to rate this as a five star overall, and would recommend this game to friends and family especially those with a child(ren) they want to keep occupied for any length of time. I bought this for my 9yo son. He thought it was really hard at first but now seems to be addicted. He plays it quite a bit and is having fun with it even though it is sometimes harder than he'd prefer. I purchased this game and have fun it very fun but challenging. The graphics may not wow the heck out of you but it is addictive and fun. What you do is you are stranded at the famous Horrorland themepark and you play games(mini games) and you can trade for monster cards with other people wandering around the park and you can find coins in garbage cans, lamposts, and trees. You can use those to trade for cards or you can use them to play the mini games. There are games such as the Roller Ghoster, Mummy Run, Mini Golf, Test your stregth, and games you have to shoot vampires, ghosts, monsters, and bats. You can also go on rides like the coffin cruise and the roller ghoster. It has different levels you can unlock with frights which you win on how high your scores are in the mini games. Some games are creepy like the Flash Fright, Roller Ghoster, and the Scorpion one. They also have a bumper cars which you try to DESTROY your opponents. If you're looking to challenge your friends I don't beleive they have a multiplayer. This game is rated E10+ and I'd say ages 9 and up. It may scare little kids. I'd say all the goosebumps readers\DS Owners would love this game. 5 Stars! My daughter started reading the Goosebumps chapter books the beginning of this school year. Horrorland was her favorite and I was thrilled to see it in a DS game for her. She plays it all the time (after homework is done of course). It's great for her to be able to tie the game to the books that she reads. It's just one more way to hold her interest in reading. This game is pretty fun. You don't neccessarily have to be a fan of the Goosebumps series to enjoy it. In order to advance in the levels in this game you must play mini games in order to earn "fright points" which unlock different areas, rides, and games. These games aren't exactly easy. But all the same, fun. It's an addictive game and really fun. Just be ready for a challenge! Goosebumps Horrorland games are based on the popular Goosebumps books sold worldwide as well as the hit series on Fox Kids Network. Rerations < Goosebumps HorrorLand >
