(A great addition to the Mega Man franchise)
(Best Action game ever, yes it is)
(Not for the Faint of Heart)
(A 13-year-old's review from Washington State) Let me preface this by stating that I missed out on the Megaman X and Megaman Zero games...by choice. Megaman was one of the first video games I played as a youngster, and I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I beat it. When the games in this series started shifting away from the original formula, I refused to play them because I'm a stubborn old gamer...but I decided that it had been way too long since I had a good Megaman adventure so I picked this one up at the urging of a friend of mine. This game is far different from the Megaman that I grew up with, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The old-school Megaman games just gave you the option to select a stage with a certain boss that gave you a certain ability if you were able to win. I must say that the open-ended set-up for this game is great, Megaman finally gets the treatment it always deserved...this is an excellent game. The graphics are fantastic for this kind of game, I'm glad to see that more and more 2D side-scrollers keep coming out, this is one of the best that the DS has to offer. The voice acting is a nice touch and the anime cutscenes are well done. It's a fairly lenghty adventure for a Megaman game, it took me about 10 hours to get through it. The controls are great and the music is what you would expect from a Megaman game. I will say that this game is very similar to the 2D Metroid games (and Castlevania games from Symphony of the Night and beyond...which also borrowed heavily from Metroid) as far as save points and the overall layout of the game...not to mention the fact that Grey winds up being a bounty hunter. I give this game an overall rating of 4 stars, 5 stars for the fun factor but I had to take a star away for borrowing so heavily from Metroid (even though that's part of why I like it so much). I have to admit I am unfortunatly a little out of touch with the Mega Man series. I have not played since the first four or so of the Mega Man X series. I loved the Mega Man X 1-3 games I thought they were great steps in the gameplay and world of Mega Man. Mega Man ZX Advent is basically the same in story as all other Mega Man games a big bad guy has plans for the world and you the player must stop them. I have only beaten the game on Beginner as Normal and Expert are much more difficult (probably my one caveat with the game) but found picking back up in gameplay intuitive and fun. The newish biometal system is cool, switching between different Mega Man styles is cool. Overall while the story is familiar the game is quite enjoyable and the visuals are great I highly recommend this game to anyone.
A
This is possibly the best action game currently on ds next to ninja gaiden dragon sword. I've been a megaman fan for 6 years when i was 9 And i have to say this is the best action game. many forms for you to get including upgraded sprites of the former models. voice acting for every cutscene and enough action to last you a month. even includes easy mode for those who are new to the series, and normal for those who are accustomed to the series. This game features a new model A which can copy enemies like Axl from mega man X7and X8. Through it you copy forms such as the models from ZX and the boss which will help you progress through the game. This game has a great story line. Those who are new to the series should try this title before the first one. This game is for kids young to old, as well as for adults and megaman fans.Mega Man ZX: Advent This game is more directed towards those gamers who have played Mega Man Zero 1-4 and the original Mega Man ZX. This game is difficult from the get-go, and it gets harder from there. Even then, it's actually EASIER than the aformentioned games.
Normal mode isn't as hard as it's cracked up to be, but it is difficult. Here's the clincher; this game was meant and directed towards HARDCORE gamers; I truly do not recommend this game to anyone under the age of 15. This game is "nintendo hard."
I myself loved this game due to it's balance of difficulty and the many different aspects of gameplay, but I give it a 3 rating because of the fact that not ALL gamers are HARDCORE gamers. I could have been biased and put a 5 because I myself loved it to death, but I gave it a 3 because it's not geared to the majority of gamers out there. I got this game with my birthday money and it's a good game. I had never played the first Megaman ZX game and I'm glad I chose ZX Advent because if I had started with megaman ZX I probably wouldn't have chosen this game. It took me around 3 hours to beat this game not, counting the time it took when I had to restart due to losing lives. However, on my beginner mode, my gametime says around a few hours and I still haven't completed all the quests.
Megaman ZX Advent has 3 modes, Beginner, Normal, and Expert. Beginner is for those who are playing ZX games for the first time. Normal is for those are used to it and even after I beat beginner mode a few times normal mode is still sometimes a pain even after beating it. While Expert Mode lives up to it's name. You only get 1 subtank throughout the game, and you don't get any health upgrades. Advent also has over 10 bosses you can play as using "A-Trans" to morph into them after you defeat them in battle, and it has one secret character you can play as. It also gives you five minigames. The first one, Gem Buster, is for ad-hoc people only. The second one, Survival mode, has you play against ALL the bosses with your health and BM gauge set to default and only two subtanks. The third one, Boss Mode, lets you play against your favorite bosses to see how quickly and effectively you can destroy them. It also had Quiz Advent where you try to successfully answer 20 question based off of the bosses you fight. It's divided into three parts: gap, silhouette, and zoom quiz. Finally, the final unlockable minigame is megaman, a game where you get to play as the original megaman and it's actually pretty fun. Advent also has voice acting, not the best but something new from all those other action games. It's hard to rate this game' difficulty due to being in the gray area of being to difficult and being just difficult enough. All in all it's a great game that,if you're new to the Megaman series, it's a game you should definitely try out. Iconic video game hero jumps into high-intensity platform action with new expanded gameplay set in a world of future technology. High-intensity action and bold, new and evolved gameplay featuring elements never-before-seen in the series make Mega Man ZX Advent the definitive Mega Man experience. (Best of the (sand) lot)
(Great gameplay, no season mode) Wish it had a season mode. Some of the controls a little confusing. Only has 4 stadiums which is really lame. Graphics not that hot. Revised 4-24-2009
After playing all the baseball games on the DS (except for wiffle ball) I have found this to be the best of the lot as a matter of fact one of my fav's of all time.
While the graphics are slightly better then minimal, the gameplay is what really shines here. The gameplay is tough (currently on normal mode), however if you really focus on a game you should be able to win most games, but if you take a mental brake during the game you will get carved up by the ai. You will really need to work every batter
The sound is ok, but the announcer can get on your nerves, so you might want to turn off that feature.
While it is lacking the season mode and stats can only be viewed when a player comes up to bat, I can live with that as I am just happy that the overall experience is excellent.
Closing comment, alot of people have past this one over because of the season mode was not included. I really think you need to look past it and purchase this product to help ensure that the franchise continues and short comings are addressed in future editions, this is the best the DS has out right now for baseball, as a matter of fact this is one of the most enjoyable baseball sims I have played to date, and I go back to the beginning of video games...
The gameplay is really good. You can pick up the controls quickly and catch on to the gameplay quick, too. Every game is fun to play because of how good the gamplay is.
The main problem I had with the game is the lack of a season mode. There is also no create a player mode. The playoff setup isnt bad, but you have to pick all the teams.

(Horrible format)
(Very fun!!!!)
(a awesome game) I bought this game as well as the imagine wedding designer games. I completed this game in about 4 hours. It was cheezy, not thought provoking, and well boring. I'd advize on not getting any of the imagine games = Unless you are under 15. I bought this game a couple a weeks ago and I really tried to get into it but I couldn't. It plays very weird. I own fashion designer ny and I love that game. I thought it would play the same way but it didn't so I traded it in for store credit at gamestop. Maybe someone else will have better luck than I did. I am ten years old and I like this game a lot.It is very fun, but if you play it a lot, or you are very fast and don't make it the way you would want it in your house it might not be very fun. I asked a girl I knew,(she was 12)if she liked it, and she said she finished it in two days, and once you do that, you can do is make a bedroom for yourself, redo any previous tasks, and change the decoration for the store. This is very fun also, making a room, the most fun out of the three. If you aren't artistic though, I wouldn't buy this game. I like this game much better than imagine fashion designer. This game can be challenging, easy and fun all at the same time.I recommend this game for girls who love to design stuff. Also when I was playing this game I had to ask a parent to explain what they wanted to be done somtimes. But over all I have alot of fun playing this game. I am 10 years old. (Great case!)
(Great Case!!)
(excellent)
(Great DS Case for the Price!) Traditional Zelda Game in portable version, includes unique puzzles for the Nintendo DS and is very fun to play. I strongly encourage any DS owner to buy, its fun, challenging, and not overly frustrating :) I looked all over to find this case after seeing some other kids who had it. This case holds 6 games (plus one in the DS Lite). It is easy enough to open that my 6 year old can do it, but it never comes open on it's own and it seems to provide a lot of protection for the DS Lite. I love it! This is a wonderful case. I use it for my DS games&my Game Boy Advance games. I also have my extra stylus&earphones in it. I will be buying another one see since I have all 6 spaces filled. Great value too. I have this case in black. I think it's great, the ds fits in it perfectly, and I love that there is space for 6 games (plus 1 in the ds, means storage for 7 games), while still being relatively small. All of the other protective cases I've seen are HUGE, this one is only slightly bigger than the ds itself. Other reviewers complained about the latch being difficult to open, but I haven't had any trouble.. I guess if I had arthritis in my hands it would be difficult, but in that case I probably wouldn't be playing games on the ds anyway. It's secure enough that it won't open accidentally, and still easy enough to open when I want to.
There isn't any storage for game boy advance games, but I don't have any gba games anyway, so it is not an issue for me. I bought the black case for my son's DS and liked it so much that I decided to buy the white case for my daughter's DS. I love the storage area for games on the inside of the cover and the case is very sturdy. My only complaint, and it isn't a big one, is that the case is hard to open sometimes for the kids. They're getting the hang of it, though. It just takes some practice to push the button and lift the top at the same time. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.
This hard polycarbonate case holds your DS Lite plus six (6) extra games and an extra stylus pen. Snap your DS Lite into place and it'll feel like it just checked into a 5-star hotel. So grab a couple of your favorite games, load it up and go about your day knowing that your DS Lite is protected. Open the pressure locking system and you're ready to game. (Beware -- Hard to take off)
(The best protection for your NDS lite)
(Excellent)
(Good for it's intended purpose) This case is perfect for my 4 year old. He drops it and it remains unbroken. Good product. The cover will protect the unit but over time (4 months) the foam started to chip away and once that starts you will find pieces of it all over the place. It was very hard to remove the case until I found a YouTube video to show me how. [...]
Many people have reported that they had to damage their units in order to take the cover off so be very careful if you need to remove the unit.
I was pretty disappointed in it since I bought two of them for my childrens' DS lites and they both flaked apart within 4 months. Also my youngest complained that it was hard for him to reach the buttons in the back with the thicker covering on it.
The best protection for your NDS lite. Once installed, it is very difficult to remove from your NDSL. Be advised, Once installed, your NDSL will not fit any of the factory cases because of the gained size... Great protection for the unit. Make it more comfortable to hold for extended period of time. Had it for 6 months and it is wearing well.
Good quality. I bought this case along with the DS Lite Dura-Case. Both good cases, but designed for two different purposes. While I prefer the Dura-Case, the Nintendo DS Lite Nerf Armor - blue/white is also very good.
The nice things about this case are the good fit, fun style and ease of accessing your game slots and stylus. The bad things are no additional storage and it still allows some dust/dirt into the case in between the armor.
I ended up giving this case to my daughter who likes it. She usually doesn't carry more than one came and so this is perfect for her. The official NERF DS Lite Armor protects your valuable Nintendo DS Lite system from bumps and bruises. Authentic, soft, NERF material on the Armor gives you additional grip and comfort while playing. Usually ships in 24 hours customer 's review (The Next Rock On?) There is no question, Nintendo has had the edge with the success of carrying music games on the go, thanks to the Guitar Hero: On Tour games. While the first 2 were revolutionary for the Nintendo DS, but there has been so much hype for the music games for the DS, thanks to Rhythm Heaven. But, while Guitar Hero: On Tour has been dominant, there has been some new competition thanks to Rock Band Unplugged for Sony's PSP, and with the upcoming Guitar Hero: Smash Hits for the home consoles soon. Buit, with the hype going around, the Nintendo DS has been at it again with a new Guitar Hero: On Tour game, but doe this one say rock on, or is it just a wreck?
Guitar Hero: On Tour Modern Hits for the Nintendo DS, brings in the latest of the musical franchises' game to rock onto the handheld. This one though is not available for the DSi, just the original DS and the DS Lite. The game doesn't honestly bring in a bigger vibe than the 2 previous DS titles though. The graphics do look good, and the control handles well. But, the game itself doesn't seperate itself or bring in the vibe that makes the game dominant. While you do have the same features from before in the story mode like choosing to play like bass guitar, lead, or battling in the dueling guitars mode, there is a new feature that does bring in a bit more challenge in the game well, and that is the fan request challenges like scoring a high score, or accomplishing a 300 note streak. They make the game a bit more challenging for you to earn special unlockables like new guitars and clothes to customize your players. The songlist was honestly not as strong as the 2 previous games either. While there are some standouts like Coldplay's Violent Hill, and Lenny Kravitz's Where Are We Runnin', the set list isn't as solid as I thought it would stand out.
All in all, with all the gameplay, Guitar Hero: On Tour Modern Hits, isn't a strong game as I though it would be. I thought some of the game was challenging, but overall git a bit tired of it. I really am a bit more eager to see how Rock Band Unplugged plays out on the PSP though. i think it might overtake the DS game here, and show it could rock out loud better than this did. Hopefully, if there is another one for the DS soon, it can score better than this one shined.

(Some parts are ok, others aren't.)
(Good Game)
(Challenging even for an adult)
(Excting and fun for my 9 year old!) I usually never buy franchise games but my kid absolutely loves this cartoon so I decided to try this one and was very disappointed. First: the controls are counterintuitive, second: it's very difficult for kids to get past even the first level, which causes them to lose interest. Third: gameplay is extremely poorly thought out and is simply boring. My kids hate it, I tried playing but could not force myself to continue playing after 5 minutes. I loved the Madagascar movies so I really wanted this game. The mini clips in the game are pretty hilarious but the game itself could use some work here and there. The thing I really don't like about it is that you can't save the game until you've reached the checkpoint. It's really aggravating if you can get past one part of the level but not the next part, so every time you "die" you have to start over ALL THE WAY BACK from where your last checkpoint was, which could be far. I'd much rather save the game where I want to. Some levels are a bit challenging but the fact you don't lose lives in this game would be one of the better things for younger kids. It has mini games also. The Penguins mini games are more strategy type and the Mort pinball is just for fun. I haven't beaten the game yet, and even though it sounds like I'm giving it a bad review, I'm going to continue to play it. My 4 year old likes this game. It's a little hard to figure out what you have to do sometimes, but he keeps at it until he figures it out. Now I might be a 23 year-old college student, but I love the Madagascar characters. I bought this game to play on my DS, but it can be quite difficult. I enjoy the challenge, but I cannot get past level 5 and I am quite annoyed with it. There is just no move to perform to get past a certain point in the level and I am fed up. I've even searched for cheats on the internet, but no luck. So it's fun for a while, and will definitely entertain your kids, but don't be surprised when they aren't happy about not being able to get past level 5...and if they can, let me know how! :) My daughter loved it and she said it was fun. That is all I could get out of her and quite frankly that was good enough for me! Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa features the four famous zoo animals: Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo, and their entire madcap Madagascar crew take you on a whole new action-packed journey to help save the African savannah. Assuming the roles of all your favorite characters, including those crafty penguins, you must work through 12 distinct levels featuring a variety of wild adventures and fun mini-games. In addition to the diverse single-player game play, the Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa video game delivers an enhanced multiplayer tournament mode allowing you to participate in outlandish competitions alongside or against friends and family. (Lots of fun...) My seven year old daughter wrote this:
Hi, I am seven years old and I love this game. It is cooler than the gymnastics I do. I bought this for my daughter who is 8 and a gymnast to go along with her new DS. Not only does she love it but me and her older sister (16) play it too! I would recommend it for any girl even if she is not into gymnastics. You get trophies for skill and it's just a lot of fun. My four granddaughters (ages 7, 8, 9&10) are all gymnasts. We gave them Nintendo Gym Rockets for Christmas because we were all leaving Christmas Day for a trip to NC and we wanted a new Nintendo game for the long car trip. The girls loved the game and played it the whole time we were away. My 8 year old daughter loves this game. It allows her to use her creativity and make up gymnastic routines. I am an ex gymnast who misses the "glory days" of competing and flying through the air.. I am 33 years old and I love my nintendo ds lite.. I have a pink one and the first game I wanted was the gymnastics game. I did gymnastics for 15 years.. :) and this was just great. My mom even played with it - 60 years old.. and she enjoyed it. I do agree though that it is hard to understand without directions or actually more detailed directions. My 6 year old definitely couldn't figure it out. But for those 12 and above - old gymnasts, and even coaches - this is GREAT! Advance your fledgling gymnastics career as you flip, twirl, and leap through a variety of exciting venues around the globe. Learn new moves from Coach Tammy to help you win the gold. Unlock and purchase accessories and outfits or play mini-games with your friend Beverly. Have you got the moves to take on the competition at the renowned International Play Pavilion? Live the life of an up-and-coming female gymnast bound for the Olympic games inEner-G Gym Rockets. A realistic and fun representation of all the aspects of actual gymnastics,Gym Rocketsfeatures training for and competition in five gymnastic events such as uneven bars, balance beam, vault and floor exercise. In addition, it also contains extensive character customization options reflecting the fun, feminine side of gymnastics including variations in outfits, hairstyles, hair ribbons and performance music.Gameplay InEner-G Gym Rocketsplayers take on the role of a young female gymnast making her way through successive levels of competition that will eventually lead to the Olympic games. This road to the medal round is full of training, choreography, fashion and fun as players familiarize themselves with the various elements that make up a winning performance in each of the five events, which include, uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercises, vault and freestyle performance. But you are not alone on this journey. Just as in actual gymnastics, players are guided by their coach. In the gym your coach will observe your training for each event, making suggestions where needed concerning technique and style, which include DS-specific instructions. Outside the gym they will also advise you in making decisions regarding your appearance and music for your routines. Once out on the mat in competition players will compete for high scores, receiving marks for individual elements within routines, that make up a combined total.Key Game Features:- Perform as a gymnast and flip and twirl through a series of gymnastics training and performances.
