(AWESOME RPG!!! Nostalgia injection!!!)
(One of the best RPGs)
(Amazing Old School RPG. If you like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6, you'll love this game) Pros: - 16-Bit love (music and graphics) - is real close to japanese RPGs for being made by a western studio - nice charactres - good story - active-time-battle, almost like in Chrono Trigger
Cons: - you can just walk on the worldmap - savepoints are pretty damn rare and almost every town got none of it (you have to save on the worldmap) - production of package and manual are horrible. you can almost count the pixels on a lot of images - sometimes you will not be able to attack since another charakter is blocking the way to your enemy
You decide (I think these are okay) - a lot of battle, but I think there were not more like in Chrono Trigger or other old games - some conditions of battles are weird (like starting blind), but are part of the story - menues can be unclear, since they are using only small icons without any description - you get used to it though Ok, So this game borrows heavily from the 16 bit generation of rpgs and jrpgs. Does it look good? I guess if your into that sort of thing, but it deffinatley isn't breathtaking. Traditional design in terms of story and visuals so I would have to say that this is the strong point in the game. Gameplay is deffinatley mediocre at best. - it's one of those rpgs were to progress in the story you have to trigger certain events in towns/caves/castles whatever and if you dont trigger it then you wont be able to progress. Some of those events are easy no brainers, others are pretty obscure- such as talking to some random person located in a basement that looks like every other person in that village. Fail to talk to that person though and youll spend hours wandering around going what the heck! Now for the Bad and ugly. As a previous reviewer mentioned save points are few and randomly placed it seems, and at times staying alive until you actually find one can be a challenge. That in itself wouldn't be bad except for the HORRIBLE incounter rate and low exp output. It works like this - take one step, battle. take two steps, battle. take one step, battle. take three steps- OMG THREE STEPS, YES! duhn duhn duhn- battle. This happens throughout the ENTIRE GAME! it literaly take 10-15 minutes of nonstop battles to go anywhere, and heaven forbid if you have to backtrack- rinse and repeat cause your battling. Now if you leveled fast that wouldnt be so much of an issue but you get barely any exp for battles. So lets say you play for an hour and make it all the way from one town to another, you'll probably have gained like one level max- thats battling ever few steps. In my opinion it destroys what would have otherwise have been a cool game. The maps you have to battle in are also very poorly designed. Meant to be challenging they often times limit your character movement based on terain. I think they meant it to play like secret of mana, but all it really does is cancel out the effective capabilities of your group. In narrow corridor battles, your lead character is first and often times will be the only one who can attack short range, so unless you burn all your mp range nuking the enemies on the other side of your main character, then the rest of your group cant fight except the lead character. they literally just have to skip turn after turn after turn because the lead is unable to move out of the way, flank, or do anything at all except attack whats in front of them. THIS GAMEPLAY SUCKS. I really wanted to like this game. Dragon quest, Chrono trig etc are MUCH MUCH better. trust me and skip this crap. I got my game yesterday and haven't put the game down yet. I've been waiting for this game to come out. The graphics and gameplay was what I expected, OLDSCHOOL. They don't make games like this anymore!Battle system was user friendly. Enemy encounters was pretty high but didn't stop me from enjoying this game. What made this especially special was the characters. EPIC GAME! Just buy it, play it, and you won't regret. Lots of fun, good graphics, nice sound, good story. One of the best RPGs. I'm about 5 hours in. Im liking it. For the record, I am playing on a DSi and have not experienced one glitch or freeze which some people on a few forums are reporting.
The battle system is fine. The random encounter rate is a little high, but that's by todays standards. Id say it falls right in the middle of FF6 and FF4.
I absolutely LOVE the graphical style. So much of it it ripped DIRECTLY from Chrono Trigger and FF6. If you want to copy something, might as well make it the best.
Graphically this game looks VERY VERY VERY similar to Chrono Trigger. Theres really no other way to describe it. It FEELS like you are playing a reskin of Chrono Trigger. The animations are extremely similar to CT as well. The overworld looks the same as FF6
The game almost feels like a ROM hack combining the 2 with a little bit of Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma mixed in.
There are a few objects strewn about levels that are stolen right from both of those games.
There might be a bug or 2 and a few things people dont like about it, but you have to realize how small the development team on this game was. Its the best they could do. We need to support them so they make more games like this.
We need to send a message to Squarenix that we want more original old school stuff rather than over the top stuff and remakes
(that said I really want a sequel to Chrono Trigger)
The character design is quite nice. Its amazing how much more personality little sprites have compared to polygons.
The story is pretty traditional RPG, but I like it. Its better than the absolute bare bones Blue Dragon and the super overly complication newer JRPG games. The world knows what it want to be. It not some hybrid modern / future / past like many modern RPGs with cell phones and swords mixed in.
The music feels like it was made by Uematsu himself.
This game really feels like it was made by someone who did nothing but play Chrono Trigger and FF6 for 3 years and decided to make a game.
I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys an old school RPG Bel Lenora is a world where people are born with magic at their command. Years ago, a single man walked the land with no magic in his veins. (Didn't really like the controls, felt cramped)
(So much fun being bad!!!)
(Shot itself in the foot)
(GTA china town) Excellent game, one of the best by far for the DS. Plenty of replay value. Great GTA gameplay and style along with new features and touch screen integration = five stars. I really loved GTA IV on the Xbox 360. I wanted to like Chinatown Wars but the controls felt VERY cramped to me. Maybe I have big hands, maybe I didn't give it enough time to get used to the controls. You may love the gave and give it 5/5, but I played it for maybe 2 hours and decided it was just too unconfortable to play (which made me sad). This game is so much fun. It's just like the Dreamcast/PC/PS2/PSP versions of Grand Theft Auto. Someone told me this was based on the PSP in that it has the same city: Liberty City (LC). This makes since, as LC is much smaller than the large counties in the console versions. San Andreas County is huge, and I don't think it would fit on the DS card. Anyway, the game is hot. But NOT for kids AT ALL. Primary source of income early on in the game is DRUG SELLING/TRAFFICKING. You can make 60,000$ easy, really. While this game is not a talkie (the only voices are random chatter from LC citizens), the captions contain strong ADULT LANGUAGE. This game is not for kids. OK enough of that, the game is hot and fun. Helpful or not helpful? Try the game as a rental, or just buy it. If you liked Grand Theft Auto for the Dreamcast, PC, PS2, and PSP - the DS version will not disappoint. HOLLA!! There is not much that I can really hold against the gameplay of GTA:CTW, but if you are the kind of person that has some sense of morality, it will probably insult you a few times right off the bat. Of course, if you look past that, you will find that the game is quite fun, allowing you to freely explore an open city, steal cars and do missions, basically the way Grand Theft Auto usually is. I have heard that the targeting system for combat is considered a bit awkward, but that is up to personal opinion. Basically, it will fire at the enemy you are facing, so it may be confusing in a heated firefight if you are trying to change targets. Besides that, the game has no inherent flaws and is quite fun, even just to go exploring the city. Overall, I would say that any fans of the Grand Theft Auto series would enjoy it, and as it is not directly linked to any of the other games, newcomers should also feel comfortable, just as long as you understand that the subject matter can be a bit rough at times. This game is soo much fun. Its the perfect game for people above age 16 and hours of fun. I love playing this game and its amazing how much stuff you can do on a hand held. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is an entirely original entry into the critically acclaimed Grand Theft Auto series, and brings a new level of interactivity to its sprawling open environments. With the use of the DS touchscreen, players will navigate their way through the streets as they uncover the truth behind an epic tale of crime and corruption within the Triad crime syndicate, delivering the unprecedented amount of depth that has become a true trademark of the franchise. PDA Interface - Use the touch screen as a PDA device to set GPS waypoints, change radio stations, communicate via e-mail with in-game characters and order weapons on the Internet. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Warsis the highly anticipated first game in theGTAfranchise designed for play on the Nintendo DS. But although it comes in a small package, this is a full-fledged game that stands on its own. With an all-new, deep story that approaches the familiar sights and sounds of the infamous Liberty City from a different perspective, an innovative control system and multiplayer options,Chinatown Warscaptures the tone and flavors of the long-runningGTAseries in unique ways that both longtime players and those coming to it for the first time will find hard to put down.

| Kick some tail as Huang Lee. View larger. | Use the DS stylus like never before. View larger. | Reconquer Liberty via PDA. View larger. | The Story: Left for Dead in the Worst Place in America Following his father’s murder, Huang Lee is given what seems a simple mission: to deliver an ancient sword to his Uncle Kenny to ensure his family retains control of the Triad gangs of Liberty City. Huang is a spoiled rich kid who expects everything to run smoothly, but his trip does not go exactly as planned. Only minutes after arriving at the Liberty City airport at the far end of town, he is robbed and left to die. Only through quickly thinking is he able to survive and make his way back to his neighborhood, but the damage to he and his family has been done. Now his destiny is to search for honor, riches andrevenge in the most dangerous and morally bankrupt city in the world. Gameplay The largest DS game to date,Chinatown Warsis set in theGrand Theft Auto IV-imagined version of Liberty City, and contains most of its boroughs and neighborhoods. In exploring and exploiting this vast area, players use the game's rotatable camera to take in a 3D, 360-degree view of their environment, providing an elevated and somewhat skewed third-person perspective, that switches to first-person with the appropriate player action. Assuming the role of Huang Lee your goal is to rise up in the ranks of the underworld to challenge the Triad of Chinatown gangs that have usurped your family's position and recover the stolen heirloom and your lost honor. In trueGTAfashion this entails gameplay that embraces the seedy underbelly that Liberty City is famous for. Throughout the game's 70+ missions -- all of which can be replayed even after completion -- and its myriad of side quests, players earn cash by completing jobs ranging from petty street crime, all the way up to drug dealing and assassination. As in otherGTAreleases, rising competence at crime raises the amount of attention received by police, but unlike previous games here players can not simply outrun alerted authorities. With each additional star added to your 'wanted rating' players must disable or destroy more of the pursuing police units to keep them off your tail. In addition to mission play, the game also contains many opportunities, such as the safe cracking and car hot-wiring mini-games and the various items and weapons hidden throughout the game that demand skill with the DS' touchscreen and stylus for success. By whatever means, once players have attained a certain level of cash and street cred they will also be able to recruit members for their own gang who pledge their loyalty by allowing themselves to be tattooed with the mark of the player's choosing.Cars and Controls Cars and control schemes play a prominent role inChinatown Wars. All cars feature GPS functionality based on available roadways. Directions are shown on the lower of the DS' two screens as part of the in-game PDA interface, but players may take vehicles off roads wherever possible, with the GPS automatically resetting when back on the pavement. While driving players also have access to five in-game radio stations and use of their weapons. Your PDA provides efficient management tools for your growing crime empire, including quick weapons switching, a running total of available cash, in-game e-mail and Internet access and nearly instant game saves any time. The control scheme inChinatown Warsutilizes an easy to use and comfortable to play combination of steering via the D-pad, choice of action through the face buttons and/or stylus taps and manual and automatic weapon locks and unlocks via shoulder buttons.Key Game Features:- The Largest DS Game Ever- Contemporary Liberty City is a massive world complete with pedestrians, weather and traffic patterns, five different radio stations and four different sprawling boroughs to explore.

(who knew?)
(Son loves it.)
(Great for Autistic children)
(Very Fun!) I'm very surprised by all the positive reviews for Lego Indiana Jones. I found this to be a very mediocre game, with many poor design choices.
Graphics: The cutscenes are horribly lo-fi and pixelated. During game play, they are just ok - nothing amazing. But there are some issues: namely, things don't line up like they should. It's very easy to fall off of things, miss jumps, etc. The controls are often slow and innacurate in response. This is the only DS game I own where I have to push a button multiple times just to get the action to take place once.
Gameplay: very little thought needed - you simply smash every object you run across. It's not that fun after about 5 levels of this. Also, if you move too far forward on a screen, you often get sucked into a new cutscene, and you are taken to another screen, or blocked in some way from going back. Thus, you miss out on all the red bricks and other treasures from that level.
Saving: you have to play for a VERY long time until you can save. I mean, like hours. Why?
Story: the screens loosely follow some scenes from the movies, but on the whole I was not left with the feeling that I had just walked in Indy's shoes through the movies.
Summary: I am disappointed, and I will be trading this in. You could have so much fun playing Indiana Jones and as a bunch of lego blocks no less. You are able as you progress through the game to pick up and play as other characters in Free Play mode. Which is basically you running through the level again. But having access to characters that you've unlocked throughout the game. It's at least 60 characters that you can unlock and while some are the same character with different customes. It is still very cool to have that option if you so choose.
The game itself is very fun and can be played by just about any age group. I picked it up and finished it a few days later. While the overall length of the game leaves a little bit to be desired. It doesn't detract at all from the game as a whole. The graphics are pretty solid for a DS game and didn't encounter any bugs(others may have) or other issues while playing. It is something that anyone looking for a fun and engaging game to play should pick up.
Plus the price at 19.99 is rare in this day and age of video game prices. Lego Indiana Jones warrants an inclusion into your gaming library and once you buy the game. You'll really enjoy it. My son saved his money to buy his own DS, and I agreed to buy two games. This was one of them. This one is a little easier than Legos Star Wars. My girls had the play station version and they loved it. Unfortunately when you have special needs children dvd's and cd's do not last long before they become scratched and eventually unusable.
I was going to replace their game when I saw this version, the same game only for the DS which they do have. Less destructible and much more portable. They can take it in the car and their rooms etc without a problem that the play station does not go.
I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. And my girls are thrilled to have the game back and able to play it without scratches. My son (6) is haveing so much fun with this game. It is really cute it follow the story line of the movies. Imagine being able to play with Legos without having to get all the pieces. Now you can with Lego Indiana Jones. It takes the fun and creative construction of LEGO and combines it with the wits, daring and non-stop action from the original cinematic adventures. With a tongue-in-cheek take on these original adventures, LEGO Indiana Jones follows Dr. Jones's escapades through the jungles of South America to the mountaintops of India where you will build, battle and brawl your way through your favorite moments, from Indy's entanglements with snakes to his dashing boulder run.
Your Favorite Hero in Lego Form LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventurestakes the fun and creative construction of LEGO and combines it with the wits, daring and non-stop action from the original cinematic adventures that enthralled audiences everywhere (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). customer 's review (loves the game)
(Boring....)
(Build a Bear - DS game!)
(daughter enjoyed it)
(Great gift for 6 year old girl) Bought for my 5 yr grand daughter and this is a very easy game. She sometimes gets bored with it. But my 2 yr old grand son is not interested in this game. My kids (5 and 8) are big fans of Build-a-Bear Workshop and also the website, and they love the DS, but both decried the game as boring. I guess the two concepts don't mix well. Hello I'm an autistic 21 year old adult gamer.
I bought this game because I shop at Build a Bear Workshop store every now and then to fix up a few of my old stuff animals like get them clothes to wear because a few of my stuff animals were in the nude for a while anyways I had been shopping at there store for little while and had seen this game several times at GameStop and finally brought myself around to buying the game even though I knew the game is initially ment for younger audiences I still wanted to see what this game was all about and to see how fun it would be.
I must say I like it. It's alright not half bad. I like the cooking and dancing games.
Buy this game you'll like it!
Happy Gaming! my 3 1/2 daughter enjoyed build a bear workshop especially trying to cook food for Stephanie. It is worth the game. This was a gift to my grandaughter on her sixth birthday. I selected it because she loves to go to "Build a Bear" and "Teddy Set Go" stores. She started playing it on our 18 hour trip to Florida and it was almost non-stop. She needed a little help to get started and to read a couple of the on-screen comments/instructions, but mostly she was able to play it alone. She has played several computerized games on line, or on her Nintendo DS so that probably made it easier to catch on. At one point, she looked up at me and said "Grandma this is the best game ever." I would definitely recommend. Build-A-Bear is a Nintendo DS simulation that recreates the in-store experience. Gameplay offers a unique immersive experience, which replicates the process of shopping and creating a Bear when entering a Build-A-Bear Workshop store. The game allows you to approach the Build-A-Bear Workshop concept with the same hands-on and do it yourself formula. This level of interactivity is achieved through the use of the touch screen, wireless technology, enhanced graphics and innovative control mechanism. Choose, create and customize your own personal virtual Bear and participate in various activities with your new furry friend. Learn how to perform moves with the DS trick control, earn honey nuggets by completing challenges and buy up to 150 different clothing accessories. (Pretty Cool)
(Greatest game for ds ever!!!)
(Cute then ZZZZZzzzzzz)
(Seeing is believing...) Nintendogs was the first game I got when I got my first DS (lite) along with the New Super Mario Bros. I would say this game is okay. It has good graphics and the puppies are adorable.
These are just the basics of the game, you don't have to read:
When you first start, the game gives you a walk-through, which is good because that way, you don't have to keep looking in the manual, and if you miss something, you can always look in the books (i mean in the game). You get to name your dog and you can teach it to come when you call their name through the mic., as well as commands. There are the standard commands (sit, lie down, roll over, etc.) and then there are other commands you can teach your dog, like hi-5. You buy food, drinks and shampoo for your dog along with brushes. (The brushes and shampoo depend on whether your puppy has short or long hair) As you progress in the game you can buy more dogs although you can only keep three with you, if you get more you have to put them in a puppy hotel, which i don't like about the game. There are three types of contests to enter your dog into. When you walk them, your puppies may find objects to either wear or play with, or just to sell for more money. Some of the objects are neat though, like you can find a Mario hat while out on a walk that your puppy can wear or a Princess Peach kart based on Mario Kart (this specific kart is exclusive to lab and friends) that your dogs can play with. Plus your dog can meet a friend's dog with Wi-Fi Connection in Bark Mode.
The game is fun for a while but then it gets sort of boring but that's just my opinion. I don't like how you have to care for them every once in a while so they don't run away and there's no possible way to shut them off. Although they are adorable this game can get boring. I like games like Animal Crossing but it turned out this just wasn't the game for me. I just don't have the devotion to take care of a virtual puppy. Nintendogs Labrador Retriever is a fun game. You adopt pets ( you can have up to 8 ) and you get to decide the breed, color, and gender. You collect items when you go on walks, sometimes toys and sometimes accessories. The walks are definitely a main part of this game: they control the stuff you have, it's where you buy food and supplies for your pet, and it's where you can train for competitions. There are 3 competitions: an athletic one where your dog jumps over hurdles and goes through tunnels, an obedience one where you train your dog to obey a command, and a disc throwing one where you throw the disc and your dog gets points for catching it at different distances. You have to train your dogs very hard to be in these. But the competitions are very fun, and have different levels. The graphics in this game are amazingly realistic. The breeds look like how they would in real life. Dogs react like they would too: they melt if you rub their tummy or give them a good scratch, but they snap at you if you pet them in the wrong place. Also, if you neglect your dog for too long, they will run away. The only bad thing about this game, is that there isn't much to DO. You throw a ball, you win a competition, after a while it turns into the same old same old. But for about a year or two this game is really fun. I would mostly recommend it for ages 5-12 This game is wonderful for whoever loves dogs and taking care of them. I think it is exceptional for those who are allergic to dogs or can't have them because it is just like owning a dog. You take care of your animal, play games, go to contests, feed, bathe, brush, and meet new friends!!! You find fun gifts on walks, and train your dog for disc competitions and agility and obedience. You can train your dog all the time, playing and petting and giving it treats. When you're buying your dog you can learn what their personality is so you can choose. If you want a naughty, shy, loving, excited, friendly, playful, obedient and so on. I love this game!!! It is wonderful!!! Not a long term play game. My son 6 who is a big dog fan got bored after a few minutes. He never picked it up again. Even when coaxed he is not interested in playing anymore. I didn't know if the game would stand up to all the hype, but this is the best pet game I've seen yet. I am a former game industry professional and both my 7 year old and I love this game. If you're going to get ONE pet game, this is it! In Nintendogs 3: Labrador&Friends you'll get to train and care for a a puppy, without having to clean up all those soiled newspapers. As you teach your puppy to obey, it'll start competing in dog shows. See if your dog can earn money you can use to buy new breeds! Rerations < Nintendogs Labrador Retriever&Friends >

(I like this game more than ever!)
(Kirby Super Star returns on the Nintendo DS)
(Lots of fun)
(Kirby for Nintendo DS) Great game - lots of fun activities to keep my son going back to it. It's my favorite game. I want to keep it for my whole entire life. It's the best game I've ever played. (This review is from our seven year old. He plays this game almost every day.) A Kirby game is always a safe bet for family-friendly entertainment. Nintendo's pink puffball returns in a DS port of the Super Nintendo original, with a few new features and games added. It's a great translation of a great game, yet the tacked on extra modes and touch screen features felt gimmicky. If you've never played Kirby Super Star on the SNES, then by all means buy this game. If you have, don't expect to be wowed by the extra modes where you play as the enemy or helpers instead of Kirby, with no new levels added. Portability is a plus, but I would have rather seen Kirby Super Star released on Virtual Console for $8 instead. For a brand new Kirby experience on the DS, Kirby Squeak Squad is a better choice. This game is really a blast from the past. It plays just like the old Kirby Super Star on SNES, a game I hunted down a SNES for just to play again after beating it several times at my friend's house.
It never gets old.
There's so much to do and so much replayability just because there are so many games in one. For fans of old-school platforming and a jolly good time, I'd highly suggest you pick this one up for your DS collection. This was a gift for my granddaughter. She played this constantly the week we were on vacation. Kirby overload! The pink puffball returns with a massive adventure...times 12! Make it a dozen! With so many games¿a total of 12 once you unlock everything¿there'll never be a dull moment as you run, float, copy enemies, and use Helpers to fight the likes of King Dedede and Meta Knight. New modes like The Revenge of the King and Meta Knight Ultra await, along with classics like The Great Cave Offensive and Milky Way Wishes. The original modes found in the beloved Super NES game, Kirby Super Star, are all here, with updated graphics and fully rendered movie scenes. Not only that, but you can adventure with a friend via local wireless! On top of the 12 main modes, there are also three new touch-screen-controlled minigames that you can play with up to three friends via DS Download Play¿Kirby Card Swipe, Kirby on the Draw, and Snack Tracks. (Mama is still cooking.)
(The Godfather II of DS Games)
(davis10ac)
(Great game for a 4 year old girl) Maybe I'm playing this game wrong, but it's dumb. It's like: get the kernels of corn off the cob, so you take your stylus and rub it back and forth and back and forth on the screen. Or you stir a mix and take your stylus and spin it round and round and round on the screen. Or you flatten dough and you take your stylus and tap it 100 times on your screen. ??? How is that fun? It's stupid. And it was expensive.
My favorite DSs are Cake Mania, Diner Dash, Touchmaster - I thought this would be similar but it's not. Cooking Mama 2 is good fun. There is more talking and the game is easier to navigate than the first one. I also think this version is more sensitive to the stylus. I find I don't have to press as hard when doing the movements such as slicing and flipping. I also like the option of customizing mama's clothes, kitchen, and utensils. This version also seems much more colorful than the last and the graphics have improved. When you ask someone what is the best sequel of all time they'll say either Godfather part 2 or The Empire Strikes Back. Back in 2006 a game came along that was so unique so original that it drew world wide aclaim and a boatload of fans. That game was Cooking Mamma and now we as DS owners have our own Godfather 2 or Empire with Cooking Mamma 2 Dinner with Friends.
This is the best video game sequel I have played since I first got my DS this and the orginal have endless replay value even after you've unlocked all the recipies.
The gameplay is the same as the first which is performing kitchen tasks with a time limit to complete a dish. Yet the people at Office Create have added a few twists. For one you can unlock new outfits for mamma and can control how her kitchen looks. Then there are her friends. Mamma's friends are picky, mess up just one time on one of their recipes and you tick them off(My heart breaks every time I see David cry).
I pre ordered Gardening Mamma, the spin off to this series, and it looks as good as the first two Hopefully they make a third one for this console.
If you like this game I would also recomend My Pet Shop, a game that is a cross between nintendogs and cooking mama.
Enjoy Purchased game for my granddaughter - she loves it. Plays it ALL the time. My 4 year old girl loves this game even more than the original cooking mama. This game has more to do and it keeps her busy for awhile. She has fun cooking for friends as they judge her cooking. I recommend this game for a young girl. Hot on the heels of her award-winning debut title's sales success, Mama returns to the kitchen with new recipes, ingredients and friends in Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends. Think your dishes are delicious? This time, only your hungry friends will be the judge of that! Rerations < Cooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friends >

(Cradle of Rome)
(Great game)
(I play this game non-stop!!)
(Addictive little game!) This game is the best puzzle game I have ever played! I highly recommend it for anyone! Young or old! Enjoy playing this game. I like you can continue to play and not have to wait for the first play to complete. Cradle of Rome is a fabulous game. Very challenging but also enjoy the extra links as one progresses to help clear the board (bombs, hammer, etc.). Since I got this game I can't put it down. I am an adult gamer. When I heard this game was like 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, I just HAD to get it.
And it was! Maybe even more fun! You have to collect bonus items to help you pass harder levels. The game alternates easy and hard levels from 1 to 100.
To the person who gave it only 1 star: They didn't give it enough chance as you can read that they didn't play it long enough to collect bonus items to help them out. Either that or they have high level of frustration.
I love this game!!! I play it as much as I can!! Alot of adults love it! I don't know about kids though. A classic match-3 that gets progressively more challenging...best of the bunch. Would really like to find something else as great as this one. P.S. - Played it continually on a 3-hour flight and NEVER looked up!! Build the heart of the Ancient Roman Empire and become the Emperor! Welcome to the birth of the Roman Empire where players re-create the legendary city of old using a unique variation of the much-loved Match-3 puzzle mechanic. Gather resources (wood, tools, gold, etc) by matching rows of 3 or more and obtain as many as you can before the time runs out. The more you gather, the faster you can build the city. Start with a lowly saw mill and progress to gain access to historical monuments such as the Arch of Titus, the Temples of Venus and Saturn and eventually the mighty Coliseum. A vast array of bonus tools adds even more incentive to continue the game for as long as possible. Unlocking these tools not only makes clearing the board easier, but also increases the opportunity to gather more resources, gold, and treasure! Rerations < Cradle of Rome >

(Ummm something wrong with this? SUIKODEN TIERKREIS)
(Awesome old school RPG)
(Surprise!)
(Entertaining) Having just beaten the game, I'll have to say I was very satisfied with "Suikoden Tierkreis", this game appeals to gamers and those that are looking for a good RPG to start off with. And I'll have to say it steals first place in my favorite DS role-playing games ("Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time" being my original favorite). The story, the characters, the animated cut-scenes, every thing here is very slick, and I'm not disappointed in anyway.
Game-play: The main character is named by you, along with your soon to be castle in the far future, the game is very straight-forward-RPG style, but very simple and is barely ever difficult (save a few boss battles that were pretty ruthless). You'll be engaging battles often, all the while visiting villages, towns, castles, fields and even tribal houses. Since I'm not very good at original turn based role-playing-games(like FFIV), this was a perfect match for me, and is extremely addictive. You'll be playing this game for hours on end before you decide it's time to quit.*10/10*
Graphics: The characters are completely 3-D, and shows probably the best 3-D I've ever seen in a DS RPG. Everything but the characters is presented with slick sprites and effects. The backgrounds and areas are excellent artworks, the character art is a little simple, but very effective. Everything fits like a glove and is never out of place, on top of that the animated cut-scenes are everywhere and are extremely pretty. *10/10*
Sound: Very well done, I'm looking forward to buying the soundtrack someday, if it's ever released outside of Japan. My personal favorite track would have to be "The Plain and the Sky", which plays while traveling in Citro Plain. Every song is easy and fun to listen too, even some of the less original ones. You'll hear castle-themes, hunting-themes, fighting-themes, aqua-themes and more while traveling through this world, very awesome. Also it's jam-packed with voice acting, you won't be hearing them inside battles, but plenty of it during the main story-line, just a little speedy with the main character. *9/10*
Story: For some reason when I read up on this game, many commented on the story being simple and not very interesting. I don't know where they got that idea. The story is fun, the characters are memorable, and you'll be sucked right into their world. You'll meet scribes, wolf-men tribes, city slickers, you name it. *10/10*
"Suikoden Tierkreis" has plenty to do, whether downloading new missions via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, or gaining all 108 characters in your party, your going to be busy for awhile. Final Score: *10/10* This is going out to amazon.com your product i bought the suikoden game freezes on me on alot of the parts of the game whats up with that, what am i to do? I don't even know if i can return it back know i'm still playing it though but i have to fast forward through many of the cut scenes the game has. If the amazon comapany or nintendo have a suggestion on what i should do email me back, hey at least an email I am a loyal customer and enjoy shopping on amazon so up on the service. No hostility in this review though not targeting anybody i just want my game to work properly. This game is amazing. It reminds me of the older final fantasy games, like 4 and 6(US). The story is very good. The music is excellent. I enjoyed the voice acting. The cinematics are also quite good. The battle system is a lot like the Final Fantasy 4 DS remake. You can have up to four members in your party, not including a support character that doesn't fight. At certain times, you can have multiple parties. All in all, I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes a good RPG. Before I picked up this game, I had never played a Suikoden game before. The only thing I expected was a good RPG experience. My expectations sunk, though, as the game started.
First, I was discouraged by the voice acting. At times, it seemed like the speech had been time compressed, so I was left wondering if it doesn't say Micro Machines, it's not the real thing.
Then, there was your cliched starting scenario, 'C'mon, you kids! Let's go beat up some monsters to protect the village.' Ugh...
Soon, though, the game departed from that worm-ridden story progression to another story progression that was only recently emerged from rigor to another that seemed pretty fresh.
Obviously, I don't want to give up the details, but if the game content seems to be tired when you start playing, I can only suggest that you stay with it. It does get better. Although, if you've been playing for ten hours and the game still seems dreadful to you, then you must have purchased the wrong game. I think you can still use that excuse at some retailers. This was my first game for DS and I am glad it was. Lots of hours of game play for 100% and good graphics. Very entertaining story line which is very easy to get into. I think great game overall.
